Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode is brought to you by Adidas. When the frustration grows and the doubts start to creep in, we all need someone who has our back. To tell us, we'll be okay, to remind us of our ability, to believe, because their belief in us transfers to self-belief and reminds us of all that we're capable of. We all need someone to make us believe.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Hashtag, you got this. Stop. Do you know how fast you were going? I'm going to have to write you a ticket to my new movie, The Naked Gun. Liam Nissan. Buy your tickets now and get a free chili dog. Chili dog, not included.

Oh, man, ladies and gentlemen, first off, thanks to prep or Friday. Now, these highlights, thank you. Tease.

The Chanel, like the ones who Roxanne. his wedding here. Roxy.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Roxy. That was fun. That was a fun one. It was a good one. I feel way different than the last time. That was fun, man. You kind of want her to get her comeuppance at the end, even though
Starting point is 00:01:47 she did something horrible as a kid. I wanted her to win. So it felt like a victory episode, even though she was bad as a kid. She did something bad as a kid. She's paying the. consequences for something she did like forever ago. Yeah, I mean, owning
Starting point is 00:02:03 up. It was so long. I did. Of course, like, a lot of people do mean things, but it just, I think it's good to remember your actions have consequences, not usually to this extent, but is why it's so important to not be the center of the universe
Starting point is 00:02:19 because when you think you're the only one who matters, you hurt people. Yeah. And it changes and affects their entire lives. Yeah. But then, ironically, at that point, when she's a kid, she thinks she's the empress of the universe. Nobody else's life matters by hers. And then she ends up becoming Empress of the universe, literally.
Starting point is 00:02:40 That was a cool one. It's a great tale of consequences in revenge and not overcoming your trauma and what that can lead to. And no matter how much power and success you obtain that if you don't heal from within, you're still going to have this hole that you feel like you need to fill. Like, there's so much there. But I love the... I love the, the journey was just so fun. Like, we were able to predict like a pretty good amount, but it was never in a way that was.
Starting point is 00:03:09 Annoying. Annoying or predictably undermining, you know? Totally. It's like we didn't predict everything. Like, it was, it was a, I think, here's my, here's my little suspicion is that the demon episode was full supernatural. I think that was, and that was also the season that had like the werewolf in there.
Starting point is 00:03:27 and oh yeah that one was yeah yeah because they had like the technology you think with like the photography in some yeah yeah yeah but they were experimenting with the thing that i believe they called a red mirror so that was be their like supernatural side it's technology and part of me is wondering if they wanted to go full supernatural here but they included this technology because that technology thing is like it's so far fetched i know it's cool actually that they that because she's the computer genius sure yeah that's fair i mean i in my mind that makes no sense but i thought was cool i think my favorite technological sides of black mirror are when it's it's like sci-fi but it's not so sci-fi to the point where you can't fathom them being able to access it granted i don't know like
Starting point is 00:04:15 about multiple realities and the quantum and the physics behind that so i would i want to say like that's not possible at the same time like i've never done any research on it so i don't know we talked about In the first episode where I was like, you know, I'm always like watching these episodes thinking this could really happen. This one didn't make me feel this. This felt like a tech witch. Yeah. And that it couldn't happen. But you're right.
Starting point is 00:04:35 It's a good way to put it. I don't know enough about technology. You didn't know whether this could ever one day be real. I don't think so. But who knows? But I'm glad they did go to the technology angle. And I also think these two lead actresses we are going to see really break out because that they were both. I kept going back and forth between who I was appreciating more.
Starting point is 00:04:58 I mean, they were both so stupid good. Let me see if their names pop up at the end here. I can do this thing called IMDB. I.M. Debby. Guago. And you find out the answers there. All right. Let me tell you right now.
Starting point is 00:05:14 Their names are Sienna Kelly and Rosie McEwen. I'm going to guess Rosie is Maria. Sienna is Maria Damn, I was wrong You had a 50-50 shot So let's see Sienna is I've never seen anything she's done
Starting point is 00:05:32 She did a movie called Adult Material And one called Hit and Run And Rosie It did A show called The Alienist But I didn't see it And And nothing else that I know
Starting point is 00:05:50 well and that's what we have wow they're both so good like if if i found out either one of them was doing something i would watch it just to see them i actually really liked the boyfriend too that was the part of the wrap-up that i think was kind of i think the wrap-up could be could potentially be because we don't know anyone's opinions on these episodes i think the wrap-up could potentially be divisive because of how far it goes with her becoming empress of the universe that's the kind of thing where it could be people like us
Starting point is 00:06:26 who roll with it and go like whatever it's fun you know let it happen the reason I actually think it works is because she finds out from Blondie from what's Blondie's name okay she finds out from her we heard a thousand times
Starting point is 00:06:41 yeah Verity we find out from Verity that that's where she started her journey too that's the first place she went yeah and so the fact that she goes there while it was a little like insane i think it is interesting your mind wanders to okay if that's where she's starting where is she going to end up well the cycle repeat itself yeah well the cycle
Starting point is 00:07:02 go again so that's why i'm okay with it but i think there were a million and one alternate reality endings that we could have had that maybe would have worked better for some people but this one didn't work for me yeah i think perhaps why i think some might find it far as there's a part of my brand that would leap a little bit as well because i kind i kind of liked it with the more subtle approach seeing the photos here and the like i already believed everything and i guess we didn't really need to go there and i think we don't get the wrap up on like the other stuff you know i guess she does lose everything though she lost her job it seemed like she has the thing no i'm saying like in her reality she lost everything like she lost her job she can get back in two
Starting point is 00:07:46 seconds yeah it didn't seem like she was concerned with that no she wants to be a She's supposed to be a hundred percent of the universe and I'm like, oh, well, there's all that other story we just followed with everything else and like the boyfriend and all that. And I thought maybe we would, there would be something there with having the power to that. But there is a conflicting catharsis. I think the reason why even if it's predictable, the journey is still so good is because the characters are written so well. Rejignation, if you haven't heard, I'm going to tell you about a little thing that's been part of my routine these past couple months. Oh, dry neck to spill. H-U-E-L.
Starting point is 00:08:23 God, that is tasty. Well, I've been using Hewled Update, you guys. On January 25th, I weigh 218 pounds. If as of the day of filming this, I'm down to 188. That's 30 pounds lighter, six-pack Greg incoming. And easily, a necessity, one of the biggest things that I've been doing. It's making smarter, easier food choices. Like Hewles, Black Edition, ready to drink a meal?
Starting point is 00:08:43 I've got a ton of these. As a reminder, before I ever partner with them, they sent me bottles to try. I was very, very clear that I would not want to do a partnership unless I actually liked the drink. And by like, I mean taste. I wasn't even into the weight loss thing yet. Yeah, turns out I did. I was hooked because it's not just convenient. It actually tastes good.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Like legit milkshake good, not. Looks nice on the label, but tastes like chalk. No, it's good, good. So here's why it works for me. It's a complete meal in a bottle. Packed with 35 grams of protein. slow release carbs 27 essential vitamins and minerals you're not just filling up your fueling up as we like to say no prep no cooking just grab it drink it and you're good to rock and that's for flavors they've got chocolate vanilla ice coffee strawberry banana if you can't decide variety box is a great way to go fuel makes eating well simple takes the pressure off especially if you're trying to stay consistent the best part it's affordable each bottle costs less than five bucks if you're finally ready to try it out or if you already take fuel and now you want to help support the channel and a little extra bit you can you can you
Starting point is 00:09:45 You can go to Huell.com and use our code rejects for 15% off your first order plus a free gift. That's Huell.com code rejects. You could also go to Huell.com slash rejects. I did that today. So whether you're getting in shape or trying to eat smarter, Huell, makes it easy to stay on track. Thank you, Huell, for sponsoring this video. And the actors are doing such a great job. The almond milk stuff.
Starting point is 00:10:09 That was great. That's sinister. The fact that we knew she had that allergy and the nut. Allergy, not allergy. Not allegory. The ability to manipulate and thwart like that with the realities was really smart. And I love how it was like subtle things. And then they just slingshots into, whoa, we're going to go so big right now into this master manipulation.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Totally. Yeah, it's like a cat and mouse game of sorts. And I like how she played it very much like a witch. Like it was hardcore. You could tell she's a witch right away. And the show is not being shy about it. it like we're not predicting stuff because we're super freaking like geniuses or something like that i think they want i think they're okay with letting you kind of predict some stuff and then it's about the
Starting point is 00:10:54 execution and how the emotional effect is pulled from that with the execution but also the cautionary sides of like bullying and i think with uh verity to like the portrayal of her wasn't cackling which it wasn't solely evil you know she you felt bad for her that one real moment they had in the kitchen where she's like and then he transferred and i had nobody that was and you think like oh she's a real human with the real thing and then she does the chugging of the almond milk and it's like oh my god what do you prefer one or two um oh god i don't know i have no idea they're so they're so different they don't even feel like the same show to me you can only recommend one to a friend um i would go one it's like on the heavier darker side of me too you know me too but this was
Starting point is 00:11:43 great but i preferred one also i think it's cool to let because in a lot of ways there might be people who don't find maria to be like maria's not exactly like a great i wouldn't say she's a good guy but she's not a bad guy right you know there's a there's a best person and the whole thing was her boss who was like i'm here for you as a person and like really kind uh you need to get some help you know he was very concerned yeah very understanding i guess actually the more we talk about it part of me does kind of wish we got a little bit more of like a full chapter a full book close on a resolution of it yeah it kind of does skip to let's end it here Empress of the universe and i mean like it's it's a different ending than one would
Starting point is 00:12:31 anticipate um but at the same time i i guess uh when you're doing like the chapters of like monday tuesday wednesday you kind of feel like there should be a completion to it and it doesn't really feel like there's much of a book clothes on it. I definitely hear what you're saying. It would work for me, but I totally get what you're saying. The craziest thing is about where we're paused right now, you said this during it, and it's so accurate. She is Nicole Kiven. Yeah, she really is. It's like so wild looking. Yeah, yeah. I think that might be intentional, too. I kind of someone like that. I mean, I don't really know. Is she played more than a witch one time? Nicole Kimmons, like, stepher wives and stuff. She's, she's great. I feel like
Starting point is 00:13:13 a person who's like a little timeless you can be plucked in any different era. Totally. And she does have a bit of that like traditionalism look to her. I do wonder though if the technology, this is one that I would like look up the commentary on to like find out the technology sides of it
Starting point is 00:13:29 to see if there is any. Merit to any of it. Yeah. If there's something there. Because like it's a conversation we hear a lot in movies about like multiple timelines and realities and stuff. And is there a technological way to actually access these things? it because that would be pretty cool
Starting point is 00:13:44 what are you scrolling and looking for I just do that so question if you had the pendant would you use it yeah right god damn that's awesome people who say no are lying I would have even used Lux Plus I wouldn't use it
Starting point is 00:14:00 I would try to not use it often but for sure like if I could get my family in a better position like you know if you could get take care of your loved ones with it.
Starting point is 00:14:13 I definitely wouldn't use it to be Empress of the Universe. I feel like if you leap to there, it's only downhill from there. Yeah. How could anything top that? Yeah. I feel like going back to the previous episode, I would use, hopefully, I would, it wouldn't change me. I would still be me.
Starting point is 00:14:31 You just take care of my grandparents. I used to take care of people who needed medical expenses taking care of. You know, like, there's so much good you could do with it. Not Empress of the universe. you know yeah it's a classic plot though of the of the bully who i've seen like i can't even think of him outside of the gift but there's like movies that do that plot of like someone who was bullied like decades ago and now they're out for revenge hurt people hurt to people yeah yes yes it's a sad thing anyway yeah it's a pretty straightforward episode though yeah so had a great
Starting point is 00:15:05 time with that man had a great time what'd you guys think about this episode leave your thoughts down below uh be sure subscribe click that bell because we got Few more to cover and, uh, the smart get you really dower, then pick you back up to go really dower again, hopefully. Oh, God. I hope for the dower. Why? What's wrong with you, man? Because the dower, okay.
Starting point is 00:15:25 It's true black mirror. Peter Capaldi. I love Capaldi. See you guys.
