Starting point is 00:01:01 by checking out our merch at RejectNationshop.com and becoming royal rejects. I don't have enough time for your crap for that, Tara. I've been told to keep it tight, so here I go. We're starting the bride of Chuckie.
Starting point is 00:01:13 We're going to watch it and hopefully it's good. Thanks so much for joining us on this ride. If you like us, don't forget to write it in the comments we read every single one. Thanks to all the fan art going on because you guys dig Tara and Roxy
Starting point is 00:01:21 as a dynamic duo. Oh, we hit it. oh my gosh chucky baby i am what oh my god so does that mean that chucky baby i am what oh my god she can get pregnant ha ha ha ha ha so does that mean that chucky's going to get put back together and we have her and now we have a child we have a chucky family I cannot. That was a great ending. I thought it was going to end after Chucky was in the getting buried alive kind of a thing.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Oh my God. Roxy still needs a minute. She's processing. That was crazy. That was nuts. Because, well, I don't even know if she's good. Like, is she still alive? It seemed like everything she had wouldn't.
Starting point is 00:02:26 That was crazy. That was, Rejects. That was a. crazy's ending to a movie i've seen in a long time me too let us know how you guys are feeling if you're listening on apple podcast or spotify five stars leave us a good comment over there also if you're watching this on youtube is that the craziest ending to a movie you've ever seen what is please comment along uh holy crap so this is a fourth chucky movie we've watched bride of chucky and it did not disappoint dude no i mean that ending is like wow like oh my god she shot out of
Starting point is 00:03:00 A blood baby, bro. That was insane. Like, I just can't even get over the ending. I thought it was going to end when they were burying Chucky alive. I was like, cool, good luck with the rats. And then the whole, like, nobody's ever going to believe this. And then that happens. Wow.
Starting point is 00:03:15 And that baby looked amazing, too. Amazing. Amazing. Like, wow. Because we're watching this so much after the fact, you know, when you're going into a movie and some people are like, oh, my God, the ending. And so you're bracing for it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:27 Because it's so long ago, I didn't know that the ending was a thing. I'm sure at the time everybody was like the ending's crazy. Right, right. Just like I was just ready for the next thing. Me too. Just the classic poker and then finally her to open her eyes and cut. Right.
Starting point is 00:03:41 She had a blood baby, bro. And it looks so good. The way they had advanced the animatronics for both of them, for Chucky and the bride of Chucky is insane. I don't know how they get their mouths to move like that. And her lip injection mouth. Mouth is perfect. It's like insane and for them to, I mean, Chucky's mouth was actually moving in a way that makes him look like he's saying words, which is insane.
Starting point is 00:04:08 So good job, practical effects, because that did not look to me mixed with CGI. The only CGI things were like glass falling and there was another one with- The glass falling I didn't think looked great, but the shot of the bed blowing up looked amazing. Like that made up for it and there was one other CGI forget and then towards the end of when they needed that CGI, the ending shot was. amazing. I can't think of it now, but I agree with you, like pieces of the body and the water flying with the blood. That was awesome. I can't believe this movie. I can't believe that on the fourth Chuckie movie, they still have us by the throat, bro. Right? Like, this is a lot. And this, this ending really got me because then that really leads us into, we are not messing
Starting point is 00:04:51 around. We plan, which is, they did really met a thing where Chuckie was like, ah, you need like three or four to get into these, like, he said three or four movie sequels to get into this thing. And I was like, oh, that's so meta. And they are, they are so right about that. And they set them up, they set themselves up so perfectly to do another one. Because everyone's going to want to go, what? Dude, I would watch this character do anything.
Starting point is 00:05:15 And I loved the, I loved the, um, Jesse and what's her name? Jesse and I don't know, Catherine Nigel. I loved them. I loved the friend too. I thought that was a really cool. I love that this was like a road trip comedy horror movie. Yeah. I think that it was so great to add another Chucky doll with the bride of Chucky.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Like we really needed another doll in there, I felt like at this point to kind of give Chucky more to do. I love that she's even talking about the meta stuff and she's like, oh my God, the stabbing we're so over it, find something else. So like with the nails, like creative kill or like the glass above, the mirror above, creative kill. just we took I feel like we took everything wow this was 98 I did see in the credits it did say Arquette and I'm like it's a Alexis Arquette and I'm like wait what who is that well I'm just that must be one of the Arquettes right one of the Arquettes so I'm like okay so I got to see I definitely need to look up who is who and what is what for some of this stuff because that I can't believe I can't believe how much I like this it's so good and when he's in the van and they open up the back
Starting point is 00:06:24 like they're now in a high speed chase and he shoots the cop car and it goes off like there's they're giving us so much stuff in this movie where you said like it's a road trip but there's also like a road chase and there there's like the motel and the the the I especially like that she was the one that was like we're bored of these these classic murders that we want something more creative I was glad that that came from the bride of chucky and not chucky because it was such a dig on him which I super appreciated yeah completely okay. Okay, so Damien, the dude who ends up dead in her bed, the goth guy who was... Oh, that guy.
Starting point is 00:07:03 He was played by Alexis Arquette, who must have transitioned after the movie. Oh. Completely, the whole time when I was like, I feel like I recognize if you can totally see. Oh, yes. Yes. Okay. So she was playing that character. Yes, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:07:22 That's cool. The guy is Nick Stable, and let's see. The guy that we think is cute, her boyfriend. Yeah, the boyfriend, he thinks is cute. Where's he been? You know how I said hospital show? Yeah, what was it? General Hospital, which I watched.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Oh, my God, there you go. He is a soap opera face. Yeah, he does. 14 episodes of that, but then he did days of our lives, 18 episodes of that. Soap opera, baby. A lot of TV shows, CSI Miami, without a trace, saving grace. Oh, good for him. Okay, yeah, series soap opera baby.
Starting point is 00:07:56 He's been working, working. Okay. But, yeah, he's got a face for soaps. This is still, like, in his IMDB most known, this is what he's known for. Of course. This is in Sunset Beach. Do you know what that is? I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Apparently, it's a TV series that was starring him. Reality? No. Okay. No. Scripted. Okay, let me see what I can tell you about this that we don't already know. Wow.
Starting point is 00:08:18 I am curious where in Catherine Heigel's career trajectory. Yeah, if this was her first movie or not, because, Like, like we said, we, we watch Bound recently. But this didn't have any references. They didn't have, Jennifer Tilly. No, it just, we, we just were like, oh, Jennifer Tilly's Justin Bound, which we just watched. And then when she popped up, I was like, oh, I recognize that voice because we just watched that. She has the same type of sexy vibe in this movie, but.
Starting point is 00:08:44 So much. I think she's my new age. She's, yeah, yeah. Okay, so Catherine Higel did a lot before this movie, actually, but things that I don't know, let me see if you know any of these movies. Her first movie is a movie called That Night in 1992. Nope. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:59 Her next movie is King of the Hill, which is... That's a movie? With Jesse Bradford and... Nope. Yep. Not the show that we watched. My father, the hero in 94. Nope.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Okay. Didn't know that one either. Under Siege 2? No. Nope. Me neither with Steven Seagal. Wish upon a star, which she's on the cover of. And, okay, yeah, I only really know her from.
Starting point is 00:09:28 That was a TV movie. I feel like I might have saw this when I was young, Wish Upon a Star. Prince Valiant, which is, she's also on the cover of. Stand-ins, 97. Wow, she worked a lot before this. I don't know what that is. And then Bride of Chucky in 98. Okay, good for her.
Starting point is 00:09:49 So she really got in her time there. One, two, three, four, five, six. This had to have blown up her career. Seven movies before Bride of Chuckie. Wow. Good for you, Catherine. Yeah, this must have. She lands in.
Starting point is 00:09:59 But then I guess her biggest thing was Grey's Anatomy. And then knocked up. Now knocked up exactly. And now the Netflix show, Tilly, where she's named Tilly, I forget what the title of the show is, but it's a good show. Good, good actors. Catherine and the other lead actors are really good in that show. So she's still working, man.
Starting point is 00:10:18 What is? Firefly and Lane. Yes, that's the name. Yes. Thank you. Thank you. Really good. Fire fun of me, so it's easier, but I like the show a lot too.
Starting point is 00:10:27 Yeah, it's so good. Okay, let's check out what I want to hear some fun, interesting trivia or facts about this. I'm going to try very hard to not spoil it for either us. Right before we get into that, I want to see Ronnie Yu was the director of this one. So let's see what else. Oh, he did Freddie versus Jason, which I have a feeling you and I are going to end up watching. We have not seen that. Yeah, we want to try to cover them all, obviously, with you guys.
Starting point is 00:10:51 So he did do Bride of Chucky. It seems like the only Chucky he did. And then he did Freddie versus Jason. It looks like mostly horror stuff, but those are the two ones that I recognize. What did he do right before this movie? Right before Bride of Chucky did a movie called The Warriors of Virtue and 97. Huh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:12 Which I don't know at all. No, I don't know. And before that, the phantom lover. Huh. Okay. So those must have gotten him somewhere in the horror community. bribe with the white hair, Shogun in the Little Kitchen,
Starting point is 00:11:24 the great pretenders. I think a lot of foreign language films. Okay. Interesting. I really, I did like his direction. There was one shot that I really liked where Chucky is going towards the bathtub
Starting point is 00:11:36 with the knife and the shower curtain coverage his face, but it takes up the entire frame. I really like that aspect ratio with that shot specifically. And the bathtub. You guys, when she gets electrocute, She goes down and the TV and you have the bride of Frankenstein in that. Oh my gosh. Amazing.
Starting point is 00:11:57 And there was another really cool shot where Chuckie's holding a knife in the van and you can, the camera has the angle on Chuckie and you see his reflection in the knife. It's just those small things that you, it has to take a while to set up a shot like that. And that shot lives on the screen for two seconds. And as people like us that'll probably notice it, I mean, you guys too, obviously, but not everybody's going to go, cool, I can see his reflection in the. knife. And I'm like, you have to really like set that up. But horror nerds do. Yes, they know it. You know it. I have to tell you guys, if you're still watching at this point, I feel so welcomed by the
Starting point is 00:12:31 horror community. The way you guys have embraced Tara and I with, um, between nightmare on Elm Street and this and the things that we've been doing to kind of become the horror horrors, the screen queens of the channel. It's been really cool and not gatekeeping at all. And like, I even remember I was nervous to tell them, like I never saw a nightmare on Elm Street. I've never seen Friday. 13. They've never heard Chuckie. And everybody was like, oh my God, I hope you like it. Yeah. Dude, that's cool. Everyone's super like forgiving about it, which I appreciate because I, and wants us to enjoy ourselves. Exactly. And I also felt sort of weird because you guys know I'm obsessed with Halloween. Like I turn over my entire apartment for Halloween. I love all things spooky.
Starting point is 00:13:09 I also love Halloween. Right. And like, love Halloween. I love dressing up. I go balls to the wall. We used to do my entire house like a haunted. Like I would get leaves for weeks and make leaves and put dead like body arms coming out of it on my porch and stuff put a um uh Frankenstein black and white in the window like playing on an old school TV so like I love Halloween that's what I'm talking about and sometimes when you know when you love Halloween people assume that you've seen everything horror and I haven't I'm just like oh I love all things spooky so I'm super glad that you guys are like horror horror scream queens all day because then that keeps us here getting through these movies that we want to watch with you yeah this has been very very cool yeah I
Starting point is 00:13:50 I started the channel by doing a reaction to black phone. Yeah. The Ethan Hawkins. I love that movie. Yeah. So that was my like, and I hadn't, that was kind of the start of my horror journey. Oh, I love that. That's really cool.
Starting point is 00:14:03 That's a good start. Thank you guys for welcoming us open arms. I have some dope trivia. Let's do it. Okay. Citizens of the Reject Nation, or should I say Royal Rejects, because that is who we call those who check out our RR Apparel at RejectNation Shop.com. We come out with new designs every month or every two months.
Starting point is 00:14:23 It is personally my favorite way you can support the channel. Reason being is because we are involved with every one of the exclusive RR designs that are up at the shop. Every month that's been growing every month, we are getting more and more royal rejects. And I really love to hear how people are finding the shirts to not just be cool looking, but also fit nicely and feel comfortable. I cared about that more than anything else. I'm a hairy guy, so I'm really in like sensitive of the fabric. We got a bunch of designs already, such as our Super Marvel. shirt. My sister actually designed this one.
Starting point is 00:14:52 Deadpool Wolverine inspired. My personal favorite one. The newest edition, the To Me My Walkman shirt inspired by the X-Men. Then we also got our number one bestseller. The Last Daddy T-shirt, which has Pedro Pascal from The Last of Us inspired carrying baby Grogu. We have Loki's
Starting point is 00:15:08 glorious balloon. We also have our Doctor Who shirt, which is full of a bunch of classic Doctor Who quotes on the Tartis. We have space babies of the galaxy. We got ourselves some Star Wars inspired. shirts we got a boys inspired shirt and we have a house of the dragon one as well pointing those out because obviously we have new seasons of those shows coming up and then of course you got a bunch of
Starting point is 00:15:30 other designs as well like our bat first one who influences the influencers another last of us inspired t-shirt and of course you know the classic reject symbolism t-shirts as well either one is an amazing way to support the channel and like i said you get to look good while doing it so thank you guys so much do consider going to rejectnation shop.com and also tag us on social media if you end up buying a shirt please tag us we'd love to see it when people do end up buying the shirts thank you royal rejects see you guys soon um first of all we have stuff to look forward to it sounds like because brad doris personal favorite child's play movie was this until curse of chucky 2013 oh so it could even get better it just wow according to jennifer tilly the dull sex scene was all improvised
Starting point is 00:16:16 Oh, I love that so much. I love that, too. Oh, wow. Like, what did they actually do? Oh, my God. The date on Tiffany's newspaper clippings at the beginning of the movie and the date on the death on Charlie's Ray Tombstone is 9th of November, 1988, which is the release date of the first child's play movie.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Oh. Love that. That's a good little Easter egg. Another really cool one. Okay, now we've gone past things that I have read, so I'm going to read you things. We're going to find these out for the first time. Okay. Okay, there's a planned album of love songs featuring Brad Doriff and Jennifer Tilly singing as their doll counterparts, Chuckie and Tiffany.
Starting point is 00:16:55 It's revealed in the movie commentary that Tiffany was to sing Killing Me Softly with his song. Chuckie was intended to sing House of the Rising Sun and the two were to have a shared duet of Hit the Road Jack. That would have been really fun. That would have been amazing. Where is that footage? I'm guessing money, money, money. They were probably like, those three songs. I mean, that's a budget.
Starting point is 00:17:13 That is. In the opening scene, Michael Myers and Jason's mask for a Halloween at Friday of 13th, Leatherface's Chainsaw from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Freddie Kruker's glove from Nightmare on Elm Street are visible. Oh. You did a whole saw binge too, right? Yeah, I did. I had seen those.
Starting point is 00:17:31 But they didn't say anything about saw in that. No, I was just thinking because you said you hadn't seen Texas Chainsaw. Right. I didn't see that. Did I watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre here? You should do it. I think I did, guys, I don't know. leave it in the comments or I mean
Starting point is 00:17:46 I could also search on the channel I think I did it with John and I forgot Oh my God And that's an amazing movie but it's really creepy It creeped me the F out which is why I was like I think I need to wipe it from my memory This is a wild one Okay let's do it
Starting point is 00:17:59 I want to say I'm curious if you have any guesses So remember this movie came out in 1998 Okay Somebody else got the part of Jade but had to drop out Because they had a major role in a different movie That came out in 1999 To play the girl? Jade is the girl
Starting point is 00:18:14 For the entire time I was thinking this girl Catherine Hegel looked kind of like Oh yeah you said it out loud No I don't know if I did No you didn't know no you said I don't need to quiz you I can just tell you if you'd rather Because I hate what people quiz me
Starting point is 00:18:27 Maybe maybe 90s 90s Wait let me Such an it girl A blonde it girl Oh she was blonde Oh oh oh from You know Kirsten Dunst that's one guess
Starting point is 00:18:40 Amazing guess So similar to her but not her. Oh wait. Okay. Let me give one more guess. Somebody who I always think looks so much like Kirsten Duds. Oh, dang it.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Now that's going to mess me up. She's probably got blue eyes, blonde hair. Want me to give you her? Yeah, just do it. Julia Stiles dropped out for 10 things I hate about you. Oh! I forgot about her. I never would have gotten that name.
Starting point is 00:19:02 Really? I completely forgot that that actress existed. Oh, okay. Like, honestly, she was so, you are absolutely right. So being the 90s, totally. I'm like, where has she been? She's been gone forever. yeah um i wait no i just saw she was in love and basketball right um that's her i i did i loved
Starting point is 00:19:21 that movie she's the girl on 10 things i hate about you yes um and but she's been in a lot of things i always think of her as in save the last dance yes i'm like she hasn't been around um i forgot but love and basketball i don't i'm trying to think of who she would have been in love and basketball i might be thinking of a different actor so you guys who is in love and basketball is Do you know love and basketball? This one? Was she a side character in the movie? No, I would.
Starting point is 00:19:47 Oh, who's the white, who's the girl? Were you thinking of State the Lost Dance? Yeah, maybe. Am I? I don't know. I might be. When our brain starts to go is when the show starts to end. Starts to slow.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Fizzle, fizzle, fizzle, fizzle, fizzle, fizzle, oh, I love this movie. It was great. Practical effects, special effects. That blow up with the car was awesome. I loved how we both thought that they were genuinely, the chemistry with the adult Catherine Hegel and the guy felt really real
Starting point is 00:20:17 we were attached to them from the top then also you could honestly feel how Chucky and Jennifer Tilly's character were like falling back in love again as dolls. That was wild but then you could see them start to plant the seeds of like they're tumultuous so of course they're not going to get along Right. Let me ask you this
Starting point is 00:20:33 and I know you're going to hate this question because I would hate this question. Give it to me. We've seen four Chucky movies. Yep. Rank them. Oh God. This is rough. I don't even know if I'm going to remember they all meld together okay listen I like the number one one is one right one is one this one maybe second for me the the one three and then four or no then two and then three then three because what's the one with the cool set with the that was two that was two exactly so you go one four two three everybody now one four two three one four I might I don't know whether I go one, four, two, three, or whether I go one, two, four, three. Right.
Starting point is 00:21:19 Because three, we like two. Yeah. We really did like that. And three was like more emotional. Mm-hmm. Right? Where we were like. This was new.
Starting point is 00:21:27 We needed new blood. We needed. We did. And we got new blood. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I agree. Leave your rankings in the comments. Let us know.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Do we have good things to look forward to? Because like I said, we're also doing nightmare on Elm Street right now. And all you guys keep telling us is we have nothing to look forward to. I know. and that's disappointing for us. But we're going to keep a truck in. Do we have stuff to look forward to here? And how many things do we have to look forward to?
Starting point is 00:21:49 Yeah, how many? And there's a show. Because we don't know. Because we don't look up. I mean, neither of us, if we know that we're going to be in a horror world, like I, when I'm at home, I'm like, I can't watch it because I'm going to watch it here. Yeah, for sure. So I have no idea how many of these are.
Starting point is 00:22:04 I just know there's a show and some movies. Yeah. But it feels like there's got to be another bride, right? Like we got to do a, like, bride to check me or something, right? You have to see the baby. The baby, dude. The baby. Is there a movie called the baby of...
Starting point is 00:22:17 I mean, the baby better pop up. We better see, like, Chuckie having to go into, like, fatherhood or something. Oh, my God. Like, we have... I mean, maybe we won't, but I would love to see it. Not a lot of loose ends here, which I love to. No. Except, yeah, I would just like to see more.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Yeah. Just show... Sign us up. Show us more. really into this. And again, thank you for the fan art. Thank you for all the comments. Keep it common.
Starting point is 00:22:47 We've been reposting the fan art. It makes us feel so much cooler than we even are. Purge forever, purge mommy team. And we will see you soon for whatever Chuckie movie comes next. Later, Rejects. Bye. Pandemic Jones. Pondamique.
Starting point is 00:23:05 PJ. As we call you around these parts, PJ. We used to hear from you all the time. Yeah, dude. Got to the point where I was blocking your calls. So I was like, how did you get my number first off to begin with? Why are you writing me all these letters? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:21 What's with you showing up at my door on my ring camera doorbell? And I'm like, nothing but a coat. God, this is unsettling. I'm sick of you standing in the driveway, flashing us. It got frustrating after a while. It wasn't even like upsetting. It was just annoying. Call it abuse.
Starting point is 00:23:39 Call it stockholds, I don't know what you want to call it. now I miss it and now I can't now I feel like something is empty in my life now every time you look out the window you know what you're going to see and it's nothing and it makes you a little sad inside all you want to see is that Flev D I it's just Flev we're doing pandemic Jones that pan oh gosh that pan that is disrespectful what he just did to you because I would never do that and pandemic Jones is also so positive it's such a good victim to you that I am loyal to you. Listen, all right,
Starting point is 00:24:14 I am a slave to you take shifts flashing me. So sometimes I'm so busy looking down. He just called you the wrong name. But that's the thing is I can always tell who I'm looking at. Don't, I don't want to hear it. You messed up and you just won't own it.
