Hey, look at us.
We're watching Carrie.
I'm so excited.
We're going to get into it.
I'm Tara Erickson.
Tell who you are.
My name is Jackie Bonson.
Your right.
This video is brought to you by Element.
More on them very soon.
Wow, you guys.
This was wild.
We just got done watching Carrie,
the old one from the old 70s,
1970s.
The original.
If you're listening to us on Apple or Spotify,
give us a five-star rating.

you do get to sense questions.
You get a full weekend,
advance the schedule,
and you get to look up what we're watching
and ask those questions on it.
Before we get to that,
so what?
What did you think in being a reading the book, which obviously I didn't.
I knew nothing about any of this.
I can't believe that you knew nothing.
I just had to keep my mouth shut for most of the movies.
Yeah.
I knew nothing.
I was giving a lot of sassy looks to our, you know, our loyal viewers.
Good, good, good.
Because I'm sure a lot of people, yeah, have watched this as well.
So what did you, what did you think?
I go so back and forth with my opinion of Carrie, you know?
Mm-hmm.
Just because it is, it is, it is very interesting, I think, like, through a feminist lens.
Like, on the one hand, like, yes.
I think it does, like, examine a lot, like, of shame around womanhood and sort of, like,
if you stay silent for so long and you let people, not that Carrie, let anyone walk,
walk all over you, but it is such, like, an interesting.
discussion of like what happens when you finally like do snap after being beaten up but yeah but then at the same time
I'm like oh like watching this in 2026 it's like I almost wish that we could just move forward and like
not think about how I just don't even like the conversation around like the shame around the
female sexuality you know I'd rather just get to the place where we're enlightened and we're not even
thinking about that anymore but I don't know it's difficult I don't know what do you think so
did you like the, but you liked it
or you, or you, you like the book more.
That's, because that's probably what people are going to be thinking.
Did you, you're right.
Sorry, I'm thinking about Carrie as a story in general.
Yeah.
Like, overall, the movie versus like, because you were,
read the book.
The books are always better.
The books are always better.
But I think that of like a lot of, I've seen a lot of Stephen King adaptations that are
just like absolute dog shit.
This is a great film.
I think it's, I think it does a really fantastic job of capturing,
God, just like the suspense and the horror.
Yeah.
There was some, like, there's some kitsy, like, cheesy 70s parts, but I kind of, like,
I attribute those to just being a product of the decade that the film was like, like, what are you talking about?
Yeah.
Like, like, even the tuxedo trying on.
Oh, I got you.
It's like, I got you.
Also, I think John Travolta is incredible.
I do think that he was kind of in a different movie.
Yeah.
Like, amazing performance for a different film.
Yeah.
Um, like he's just a bit a lot.
And then, yeah, I don't know.
I feel like there, there's a lot.
The character of Sue is a lot more fleshed out in the book because you cut to a lot of
her like interior dialogues and like her like writing letters and like she ends up writing a book at the end.
Oh, okay.
So her character is a lot less fleshed out in this.
But I think it really works for the film that we kind of stay in like a 70s teen film for a lot of
and then there is such like a harsh 180, like when the bucket gets dropped, you know?
Yeah, for sure.
Yeah, I think that this is probably one of like the top horror films I've watched.
I think always Brian DePama is a really great director.
He chooses great shots and there's really good casting here.
With these type of characters, you have to have them be very grounded and very believable.
And they all were, even for the comedic moments where we're tapped into where even the guys,
they're changing on their suits, whatever.
That's probably the one of the lighter moments to get where we're laughing.
But most of this, to me, was a mystery where I am wondering and reading because they're adding
in these little ticks for us where it's like, wait, why is Tommy laughing?
Why is Sue asking him to take her?
And now what is this plan where the, what's the mean blonde one, her whole plan?
What's her name?
Chris, when Chris starts to whisper, like, don't worry.
we have a plan and the whole killing of the pit, I was like, wait, what are we do wing?
Like, it's wild to me that I was like, where are we going?
First off, so this is now to me a mystery.
I don't know what the hell is going on.
And every step we take, we get closer to whatever the payoff was going to be, which I had no idea.
The only thing I knew is just a face with a girl with blood.
That's all I knew.
I didn't know that it's dropped on her.
It's pigs blood at the freaking prom.
Like, I don't watch these types of clips.
Like, even stuff that I watch now, I don't even, I don't, I just don't.
But I think overall, this movie, even if maybe it didn't follow the books to a T, what I think I got out of it was almost the intense thriller, horror mystery,
savageness
of religious
like hypocrisy
I got in this movie
the fact that mom
was just this crazy Bible thumper
who's trying to
bury down all of her hidden
desires and now shove it on to this child
that she had which she now thinks
shouldn't be here and is Satan
I am just I'm so
glad that Carrie found
her powers and yes
I am like this movie is so much fun because if I didn't get that kind of vengeance at the end of payback
my God I would have been pissed because the buildup of what they have done to carry from the
beginning throughout the whole thing imagine you get your period for the first time she runs home
and said mom why didn't you tell me the girls are like you're dirty yeah it's your fault that you got
your period exactly you're a psychopath and she's like because you're a sinner I'm like you got it
before too. Like it made me so mad and then just also imagine you're going to school and you're
seeing Carrie White burn in hell whatever on all of the walls. Everyone's so mean to you and you just
keep showing up and then you're like you're asked for prom. I get what she's I don't want to go and then
this happens? This happens. Thank God. I'm like yeah you know what? We did reach our threshold and now
we got to burn all down and you know what? I don't feel bad about it. It was so hard to stay quiet when
you were like, are they going to get like their comeuppance?
I was like, nothing, nothing going to happen.
I just, how like exciting is that?
Of course, guys, like, come on.
This is like a movie.
And sometimes you guys go cuckoo bananas in the comments.
But it's like, it's nobody's rooting for anyone to to die, obviously.
But in this movie specifically, what these people have done and the fact that I thought that when she starts here,
the PTSD and she's like they're all gonna laugh
you she's hearing the mom and she's hearing the teacher
saying you know you can trust me and there's
all those pictures of them laughing at her
ha ha ha ha ha you're like a kaleidoscope of
totally pain and bullying
so scary it's like just an epic
horror movie and I'm like wait maybe that's in her head
because before it was just a weird
rainbow girl laughing everyone else was stunned
and silent but then we do cut back to it
and they are all freaking laughing at
her after like are you kidding
she's got a bunch of blood
dropped on her why are you still running
up dear to help her.
In the book he kind of goes up like it's kind of like a weird like mass hysteria moment
of like they don't understand like why they're laughing.
Like they're almost in shock to the point where like some of them, yeah, they're laughing
because they're dicks.
But it's like no, the whole fucking auditorium like starts laughing at her.
They do.
And like and so it made sense to me.
And Tommy who wouldn't have laughed gets killed the second the bucket hits his head.
He's dead.
He's dead.
He's dead.
Tommy dies when the bucket hits his head.
Oh my.
That's a heavy-ass bucket.
God.
Yeah.
I was not.
He could have helped.
He could have stopped it.
I was not concerned about that at all.
I literally thought, oh, Tommy got a bump on his head.
He fell down.
I get that.
I was,
and we were,
this movie did a really good job putting us into Carrie's POV because we want these
bad people to die.
I thought Tommy would eventually get up.
No,
and Sue would be there and then get out, I guess.
But then, of course, it all burned.
Electric cut it everything.
Electricuted everything.
Turned it to a huge electrical grid.
Kind of sick.
Like, she's fucking awesome.
Yeah, I know.
It's a very complex moral question.
But I know that when I was, like, reading the book for the first time, I was like,
damn, girl, like, go off.
Yeah.
Like, fuck them.
Like, how cool is that that she just, once she clocks in and her eyes get big and she
starts closing all the windows and all the doors, that's when we're going to
to real horror movie territory where now we are, the payoff is here.
I take hydration pretty serious because I work out, but lately my wife might actually be
taking it more serious than me.
Without getting into all her personal business, she's been in a situation where her doctors
have really emphasized staying on top of her fluids.
So I'm constantly filling up her giant water jug.
And electrolytes are a big part of her routine too.
So yeah, our house has become an element distribution center.
And that's actually what I like about element.
Pronounce element.
Not element.
This isn't just gym bro stuff.
Okay.
If you're sweating from like a workout, spending like a ton of time in the heat fasting
or you're somebody who really needs to stay on top of hydration,
electrolytes can be a big part of that equation.
I'll tell you what.
But there are like a million electrolyte products now.
So why element?
Well, one of these sticks gives you 1,000 milligrams of sodium,
200 milligrams of potassium,
and 60 milligrams.
of magnesium and there's zero sugar and no artificial colors and that's what wins this guy over so
while now i'm reaching for electrolytes i want the electrolytes to actually be the point you can go to
drink element dot com slash rejects and with any purchase you'll get a free eight-count sample
pack of elements most popular drink mixed flavors try them find your favorite and if you're not
satisfied they'll take care of you take a little box seriously they're great and uh which
Oh, that's a tough one.
Pineapple.
Pineapple is my jam.
Except I thought that was maybe going to be the end.
And then we freaking go home and mom is still alive.
I thought she cleaned up the place toward the last supper down to candles.
I thought she went by-bye.
Right?
That's what I was going for.
She's high behind the door.
Wait for her and take back then comes out.
And then she kills her own freaking kid.
That is what I'm.
This is real horrid.
That actually happened.
is that you get so into religion and the religious culture and that these are specific words
that you have to follow and now everything is a sin that people are like that.
Yes.
Well, it's been a while since I've read.
That's scary.
It's been a while since I've read the book.
So I kind of forgot that like, I mean, unless this is a movie thing, but I, in my mind,
remembrance, I had remembered Carrie like just like leaving the prom, leaving the electrical grid
and just like going home and like, buy it.
bitch like I'm gonna kill you right now like I didn't I don't remember her like reaching out to her mom for a second and going like you're right they did laugh at me can you hold me like really reaching out I was really surprised by that God I mean and her mom's like no you're the devil I'm gonna kill you I should have killed you when I when you were in my belly yeah that is what she said or not in the belly she was like when you came out I don't know if that's abortion that's Catholic Christian this gets more complex there but whatever it's it's all she would
it killed the baby and and because she's she's nuts but I that was such a phenomenal performance by
the mom especially in that last monologue where she's like and he touched me with his dirty hands and
I liked it and then she's like I should have given you back to Satan then and she's doing all this
weird stuff and you're like what okay it's come for me now you're the second yeah it's it's
it's a great performance it really does put her
It puts us into her point of view that it is very believable so that it makes it even more crazy when Carrie is shoots her and shoots her exactly as Jesus is and his crucifixion that she has had to stare at day after day in a candlelit room and read it's like when you're grounded and you get it's like I kept trying to think of the word when they they capture you but then you have the syndrome you guys know you'll stop.
Thank you. I was like in the comments
they're going to be screaming at me. Stockholm syndrome, right?
So she shoots mom in the exact same way that she's been
staring at, which I just thought, wow,
it now even makes even weird, more weird sense that she's shot
that way. But that also mom is like getting off on it because it makes
really closer to Jesus, but she was also like all
thinking about when she juiced it with her old person.
Yeah, and when she comes out of that,
that trance where she finally snaps and kills her,
the fact that she takes her mom and drags her back into the closet,
which was like her punishment always.
Like, it really is just so representative of like,
Stockholm syndrome.
Well, yeah, I say this about every movie,
but I'm like, it's really a representation of PTSD.
Me with every movie.
That's funny.
We should talk about it more.
I mean, I mean, it is.
Normal is it.
Yeah.
I mean, it is a, a,
PTSD also, I mean, mom obviously has it.
That's why she's shoving it onto her child unknowingly.
I feel offended as someone with diagnosed PTSD that the mom has it.
I'm like, I think Carrie for sure has it.
I think I don't know what's wrong with the mom.
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Yeah. I think probably she was very.
Like I think it's more like religious like psychosis or something.
Yes, which turns every event that you had where you believe you have sinned into PTSD.
that it's now a savage event.
It is of the devil,
and you never should have done it.
So I felt that, you know, her bad experiences,
because now a guy has asked her the prom,
mom is throwing that all on her going,
you can never go.
Like, I know what he'll do.
Like, just crazy shit.
And especially her PTSD came up when she's like,
he's not going to show up, he's not going back and forth,
back and forth, back and forth.
Right?
And I think that happened to her.
That probably happened. The guy probably didn't show up a couple times.
My dad walked out on her.
Yeah, but I'm also saying before he probably also did show up because it was a wild when she's,
the way that she's going back and forth is she's like, he's not going to come, he's not going to show up,
he's not going to come.
She sounds so stressed out as if this is a past memory for her, a past experience.
But it is, it does make sense how nuts the mom is, that she is, that she is,
now push to now kill her child. It's as though she is sacrificing where she's like,
you're the devil, got to get rid of you. Yeah, I got to expel you from the house. Wild.
Expell the evil. This is a phenomenal film. Great film. Yeah. The other thing that I feel
like people talk about so much with Carrie is like, is the character of Carrie evil, you know?
Uh-huh. And I also just think like it examines so much of like, like evil for evil's sake,
which I think Chris, the character of Chris, is just like an, like, evil, you know?
But then, like, Carrie, it's like her, like, she is really just, like, a product of her environment.
And, like, she, like, snap.
And I feel like it's even more, like, we see such a clear representation of that, like, between, like, when she, like, uses her 11 powers and, like, puts the mom up with the knives.
And then she does kind of snap out of it.
Like, she didn't even, like, really, it's an interesting split.
And then the mom, like, is the mom inherently evil or is it, like, she's so brainwashed by this.
religion. Right. So it's so, it's interesting. I don't know. It's very, it's hard. It's hard. Every time I
like re-engage with Carrie it, I feel like I leave with more questions and feeling more confused about
where I stand on the story, you know? Okay. Which I think is what makes it such an amazing film that
has stuck around for decades. There have been so many remakes. There's a musical. Cool.
That is awesome. I mean, if the conversation is if she's evil or not, I'm on Carrie's side. I was hooting
and hollering. I'm sorry that all these people had
to die. Here's the thing.
What you can learn from this movie
is that a lot of people are
not great in this. And
if you are a person who
hurts other people out of joy,
you're a sociopath, and
I don't care if you have vengeance
and someone has seeked upon you.
Now, I think, yes, sure.
Burning the whole skull to the ground
and electric unit in them all, I don't think that they all
really had. They didn't deserve
all of that. To
me, I just think that the lesson is there are people that you can push and they will reach their
threshold. And when that threshold has been reached, they can crack and they can be dangerous. I think
everybody can. Literally everybody. We don't have telekinesis, so it's not going to be as large as
what Carrie was doing. But there are going to be times where it's like the lesson learned is like,
just don't, don't be a prick. Like I just don't, don't be a bully. I hate bullies.
so much. We've been talking too long.
We've got to get to our Patreon question.
Cody Price says, hi to us.
If you had all of a sudden got telekinesis like Carrie and you also had a bully, how would
you use the power to stand up to the bully? Great question. Cody Price. Love that.
How would you use it? I would do harmless pranks. Like what?
Like making them slip on a banana, like spill their milkshake on their shirt.
Like I'm not going to like kill them. That's crazy.
Yeah. Okay. I love that.
So, okay, how would I use the power?
So let's think, let's think.
I mean, I might go like, okay, they're eating at lunch.
We shove their head in their food.
That's fun.
Yeah, that's harmless.
We're, you know, if they were really mean, if there's a way when they're in the bathroom that I can pick them up, turn them around, give them the old swirly.
Well, you probably can't.
I can't.
So I'll do, then they get a swirly and a flesh in there.
And they're just like, yeah.
They're like, wow.
And then they really get made fun of because they're like peeing in the other direction while it's getting swirly.
It's like bad for them, right?
I thought you were going to go in a different direction.
I thought you were going to make them poop their pants.
They could have done that.
But no, I'm thinking the pants are down.
We're twirl them around.
So if they're in the middle of a poop or a pee, it's going out.
It's going towards the door.
And now everybody's seeing it.
And so now that's what happens to you and your sphinct through it.
sphincter would just like lock though it probably would but i'm imagining man the you had it coming
is what i would say okay so uh maybe a couple of those things and i'll think more on it though i like
that question all right slash shoal says hey to us carrie's one of my favorite sk and more because
she might have the shining like danny yeah in every version of carey felt bad for at the end she just
wanted to feel live from her actual life living under his obsessive mother just watching from a distance
glimpses of normal life. But at your point of view, what do you think of her? What would you do in her
situation of the prom night with those powers? Run and cry or going psycho like her. Love you guys.
Thank you for that question. So what would you do? Would you like run away? I think that that's
interesting because I think that that's almost like posing the question as if Carrie had a choice.
Like I think she kind of just snapped. I think that, yeah, no, I think if I was raised in the same
environment as Carrie, I also would snap.
So you think you would, instead of just like, oh, and running away, you think you would have utilized your powers there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think if I grew up and like in that way, like I feel very lucky because I've had access to therapy and I've worked through a lot of issues.
So like, you know, I don't think it would have bothered me.
I would have been like, well also I would have like, if it's me, Jackie in that situation, like I wouldn't have that that wouldn't have happened.
Yeah.
None of it would have happened because I would have stood up to the bullies earlier.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
She didn't like, I just think that this was like she was doomed from the beginning.
I think that all of this was unavoidable.
Anyways, what would you do?
Sorry.
Yeah.
And I know that you're asking, you're like, you're like, well, what do you think of her?
And I think her switch up mid-movie is great where she's like, things are going to change around here.
She really did need that talk from the teacher.
Mrs. Collins really kind of did change her point of view where she starts to kind of clock into who she is.
and get out of that, like, that thumb deeming down on her from mom, which I like.
So, um, if, if I was her, uh, I like Carrie, um, I would have probably not electrocuted
everyone, but I, I, I maybe would have just, like, instead of in the, in the, um, fire extinguisher,
would have filled that with blood.
And now everybody gets sprayed with blood.
Everyone's sprayed with blood.
Everybody gets what I got.
Okay?
So now you get it too, and you know what?
That freaking hurts.
Are you kidding?
I know you're a communist.
Yep.
You all get it.
We're all equal.
You all get it now, and he's going to hurt going on, okay?
And so be it.
Y'all were mean.
Janelle, this is Pete Kerry out of the three versions that have been made.
I'm looking forward to Mike Flanagan's Prime series as well.
I'm nervous.
I didn't know that that was a thing.
Question.
Watching this movie based on a book when written in the 70s,
watching it through the lens of the current school violent climate is Carrie the hero of the story.
Jen, that's a fantastic question. That's a really, really fantastic question. If I'm going to reexamine
it through that lens, then no. Carrie is not the hero of the story because any person, any
individual could argue like, well, that's what happens is that these school shooters, like,
they get, they're very red-pilled and they feed into that culture of like, well, everyone's bullying me.
And what if, because that, that's interesting. What if we looked at the story?
imagining like well maybe all this bullying isn't Carrie's head you know maybe she just
thinks that everyone's bullying her and is and is acting out lashing out so no through that linch
she's the villain absolutely but yeah that's tricky because we clearly see that that that horrible
bullying is happening to her yeah but does it justify killing everyone that's the whole thing no
Chris sure john yeah yeah um the the hard part
which is also the fun part is that, you know, the hard part is they all kind of got what's coming.
And I did really enjoy seeing it.
Like, no joke within me, I was like, these people are awful.
And even it was just, it was, even though there were some that I was like, they were happy for her that she won the prom.
The hard part for me is that when she was hearing all the, her mom in her head and then the teacher going,
you know you can trust me.
But there was images of the teacher laughing at her upstage with.
her covered in blood, which I now thought was very sadistic.
And it made now all of those people out there laughing at them, to me, it's time to go.
Like, that's the mode I clocked into.
But if we're looking at it through the lens of like, you know, the school violence, what's been happening, obviously it needs to be talked about.
The bullies have to go.
And this has to be addressed way before it even gets to this.
I mean, they shouldn't even have gotten here, right?
No, it should have never gotten to that point.
Ever.
So the stage that we were at, I think that's what justifies this to make it, I mean, at least for me, I was hooting and hollering at the end.
But of everything that we had been through, that's what a good story does.
It pushes your point of view to the limit and then goes, now we're getting our vengeance in.
And you're like, thank God.
Because it was just, it was a really hard, it was a hard watch.
She's in hell at school and she's in hell at home.
It's tough.
anybody in that climate would not do well.
By the time that Ms. Collins even tries to step in,
it's like, well, there's already been years and years and years of bullying.
And the principal doesn't really give a fuck.
He's like, I don't know, give him detention, I guess.
Who cares?
I don't care about Cassie.
Right.
And, you know, there's a story of one woman.
She was a, she, I think, shot up a few people out of school a long time ago.
But when she called and people are actually.
asking her why she said well it's monday it's a monday and i hate mondays and there was just the song that was
written about it it is based off of that that there's a one yeah you guys you guys can look it up i don't
know if it's that song specifically but there is a song that was written based off what this
woman said when she was like well it's a monday i don't like mondays um and so we're we're now
clocking into everything that can lead up that can now happen to you they can push you to a point
none of it is excusable in order to take another life.
That's now just something, yeah, we all don't like Mondays.
Some of us don't like coming to work every freaking day, right?
You got a clock in.
That's just life.
So I think that was a very cool question, Jen.
And I think I would hope that most people would say, yeah, with the way climate is,
we hope we never get to that point and that you can never take a gun into school
and that bullies are, you know, have to be set to therapy, first off.
and that it doesn't get to the internet either towards these people
because there's a lot of kids that unalive themselves do to be bullying online.
There are a lot of trolls and bullies online.
We see you.
And if you choose to do that with your life, that's your business,
I don't support it, and I think you could probably do better things with your time.
Jane Rhodes, this is actually my favorite horror movie of all time.
I absolutely love this movie.
I'm curious what some of y'all's favorite horror movies of all time.
That's cool.
What do you think?
What are your favorites?
I rewatch every Mike Flanagan series ones a year.
Oh, cool.
Pretty much everyone.
I rewatch Hill House Bly Manor for sure and definitely Midnight Mass.
Midnight Club, I don't really feel the need to rewatch.
And then what's the new one?
I might rewatch full of the House of Usher as well.
Oh, cool.
I don't think I've seen, although I think I've seen the haunting of Hill House, a few episodes
of that.
Is that a lot of the whole thing?
They should make you and Roxy watch it.
Yeah.
I cannot watch it because I know everything about it.
Yeah, and I don't, especially since a few years ago.
Oh, my God, that would be great for the channel.
Yeah.
Hello?
As you guys know, when a horror thing comes out, I don't watch it because I know I'll probably
have to do it for work.
So favorite horror movie is it, 2017.
I've said that multiple times.
I would love to watch that again on the channel.
That was the very first horror movie I ever watched.
And I actually loved it.
That was the time, the moment that I realized horror films are not.
not all jump scares,
that they actually do have really good stories,
really good characters that I got really locked in to those kids
and what was going on.
And I was like, oh, okay, horror movies are my thing now.
You know what's funny?
I was loving them.
I saw it 2017 in theaters when it came out in college,
and it was after that that I got really into horror.
Okay.
And it's the first Stephen King book I ever read,
and it's still my favorite.
Still the best.
That's great.
So kind of same spot,
because that's exactly what happened to me.
Great film.
All right, let's get to our last.
Question. Jay Rushden says, which are the characters do you relate to? If any, um,
the most within this film. I would say Sue and Miss Collins. Um, okay. Just because, well,
both of them at different times, like Sue does laugh in the bathroom scene. And Miss Collins,
like she, I have, I have more knowledge because I have read the, read the books as well. But like,
they both say like at one point, like, that they did laugh and that they did like partake in the
bullying of her and they wanted to like slap her themselves like and then because like they talk a lot
in the book about like there is something about Carrie that just makes you want to hate her.
Yeah.
And it almost like it feels like it's against your will.
And like I try my best to be a very kind person to be very open minded.
But like we all have biases and like we all have bad days and sometimes like we're dicks.
You know?
Like sometimes you have to admit that.
But I think what matters is that you actively work on bettering yourselves.
and like Sue definitely
maybe Sue
Sue, Sue, Sue did a better job
of really like working
on that.
But, you know?
Yeah.
Sue,
Sue, she at least tried.
She really did.
And it was like, I want Carrie to have a good time.
And the whole movie, I was like,
does she really?
I was so nervous because I don't know the story of like,
but that's why I was calling it more of a thriller mystery to me.
Because I'm like, wait, which are these people's part of the setup?
I would say the characters, like,
it lets me.
play that if I was cast in this film, I'd be
Mrs. Collins. I'm a slap these kids
around. What the fuck? You'd be a great Mrs.
Collins. Slap them. I love
it how even at the end
and it's a very quick edit
Mrs. Collins is on the stage
with another girl and they're kind
of Tommy's
dead body. I don't know. I'm dead which I know
is dead there. He's dead but she's
on the stage and she's grabbing like another
girl like being like to tell
her something. It was such an interesting
cut but she does that a lot.
to be like snap out of it, which I'm like, even when she smacked Carrie in the beginning,
I was like, she may not have gotten Carrie to actually calm down.
There was a moment that with Carrie breaking down there, that I was like, wait, is there
a psychological issue with Carrie that I don't know about yet, right?
That she has some sort of emotional issue where if she gets all worked up, we don't know how to
calm her down.
And now I realized that wasn't that.
It was just a very traumatic experience.
But I do think even when she smacked her, it was like out of love.
And then out of the other stuff, when she takes a girls and she's like, I loved it when she smacked Chris.
Yeah, that's like, shut up.
And then she, and then Chris goes, you're going to be, you're going to get fired for this.
And she grabbed her by the collar and it's like, if I hear what, whatever she says.
If I hear her one more word, I will throw you to the ground out.
My God.
I love that.
I was like, sign me up.
I mean, I think her.
Because honestly, she was great.
I don't get the whole laughing at the end.
I think in her reading the books and telling us now that it was a thing where...
Mass hysteria is so awkward.
Yeah.
Where it was just...
And so much of the film, they're like, ha, ha, oh, my God.
You're just...
You're shocked.
Like, so much of the film also, like, really does examine, like, conformity, whether
it's through, like, religion or just, like, social norms.
Absolutely.
You know?
You just part of it.
take and you just laugh at everyone.
You laugh at Carrie when she's having her period in the corner because everyone else is laughing.
So it's funny, right?
Like, there is a subconscious thing of when people laugh.
We also want to laugh.
Like it's-
Especially when you're younger and you're a team.
It's a chemical thing.
That's hard to not join in because you kind of don't know.
Yeah.
At that time, you're not really clocking what's right and what's wrong.
It's just a weird thing, kind of a prank that's now happened.
I just want to be liked.
Yeah.
And you're kind of like, well, no one's.
dead yet. I don't think
that the kids thought Tommy was that. I never
would think from the thing
that he died.
He did and die. That's all wild.
I would definitely
put this.
At the top of the list, I mean, the vengeance
that we got at the end in some of these shots,
the practical effects, which I love,
which we don't really get as much anymore, is
amazing. So I think
it was a really, really great time. I loved
it. You have any last words before we get
out of here.
I'm always going to love the books more because you get so much in depth of the characters
and what they're thinking.
But I will say, I forgot to mention and give credit to how amazing, like, the cinematography
and all the shots were.
Like, it was so fun.
I loved the use of inserts specifically.
Yeah.
I feel like a lot of inserts sometimes bother me.
But they were just very, it was very artfully done.
It's very beautiful.
Yeah.
A lot of their cut twos were followed up after, like, a longer moving dolly shot and they
cut at really the right times, which is...
It really keeps your eye, you know?
Especially in the...
Because they really do, like, milk some of the moments, but I will say it never felt really
too long because everything is so artfully done and they do like...
I agree.
...dry different things, but...
Yeah.
Brian De Palma really did bring this story to life.
I do love him.
I forget what the other films I do love.
We can talk about that later.
We love you guys.

I just don't think there's a way to go about life.
you're not doing it. So just do it. Love you. We'll see you on the next one.
