Starting point is 00:01:16 Today we are covering Season 1 episode 7 and 8 of Chuckie We have been watching Chuckie every week Multiple times a week for the last It feels like a year but it hasn't been that long. Several months.

Starting point is 00:01:31 This has become one of my and Tara's absolute favorite franchises of all time. We are just completely obsessed. And those of you guys who did find us, you are as obsessed as we are, which has been so unbelievably cool and welcoming and filled with love

Starting point is 00:01:51 and queerness and just beauty all around. And we are so, so grateful for you guys. You are small, but you are mighty. And it's crazy because I don't know what's going to happen in episode 7 and 8, but I have a feeling there's going to be some deaths, and there's going to be those deaths, and then the death of the reactions to Chuck E. So this is a big funeral episode. Severus, we don't like it, but we got to do what you got to do.

Starting point is 00:09:19 The production office has a kill wall where actors would pose pictures of characters. who had been killed off from the show. Wow. I love that. Okay. That's fun. Mother and daughter characters, Lexi Cross, and Mayor. Michelle Cross, are portrayed by Olivia Allen Lind and Barbara Allen Woods.

Starting point is 00:09:39 In reality, their mother and daughter, which we knew. In episode two of season one, Mayor Woods mentions Dr. Mixter. Dr. Mixter was the doctor in Halloween, too. Oh. Okay. Cool fun crossover. It's a fun fact. Okay, so the actress playing Nika Chucky in real life is the real life daughter, Brad Doroff, the actor who voices Chuckie.

Starting point is 00:10:03 Yep. Alex Vincent graduated from Hackensack School, high school in 1999. Oh. The actor that plays Andy. That's funny. Okay. Okay. One of the posters Jake has on the wall features the greasers from the outsiders.

Starting point is 00:10:20 I think I said in the first episode, I was like, is that the outsiders? I think you might have said that. Yeah. Jake is the fifth LGBT character in Child's Play series after David, Barb, Jill, and Carlos. However, Jake is the first LGBT protagonist in the Child's Play series, with the others being side characters. Yeah, that's true. That's cool. Like that. There's ones with spoilers. Do you think I should read them? Because we're still, I don't know. Maybe read one. Okay. Yeah. Film series and show creator Don Mancini has stated, this will be the final.

Starting point is 00:10:53 showdown between Chucky and his longtime nemesis, Andy Barclay, stating everything from the past will come together. You later tweeted that if the show is successful, there's a possibility that more films could be made in the future. Oh, interesting. Hey, that gives us... We can cover those. Yeah, that would be... Greg can't stop us. We'll make money. That would be great if the show doesn't really, really well, it keeps going. If they're already, I'd be interested to see if they're already in pre-production, possibly for another film. Hmm.

Starting point is 00:11:31 Well, I wonder if they have another seat, because they did three seasons. You think that they're done after three seasons? They're going to do a fourth season. That's what I'm wondering. And I'm wondering if, who knows, man? Just for behind the scenes for you guys, when I chanted, Greg can't stop us, he poked his head in and looked at us and then closed the door. Okay, another spoiler.

Starting point is 00:11:52 Because of Barbara Allen Woods, which is Lexi's mom, having a good horror scream, they decided not to kill her off. Instead, they killed Michael's character, the husband. What? That's the only reason? Why? That's great. I mean, I just like her a lot. I figured it was because she was like, I don't want my daughter on set without me.

Starting point is 00:12:15 Yeah. Okay. Wow. Let's see. Devin Saw was casting the show indirectly references the music of the franchise. as two of the franchise composers, Graham Revel, who scored Childs Play 2 and Bride of Chucky, and his themes for the former acts as bootstrap theme for the show and the franchise as a whole, and Shirley Walker, and also scored one of Sawah's prior horror outings. Oh, so the two people who scored this

Starting point is 00:12:44 helped score Final Destination. Oh, okay. That's cool. That's interesting. That was a long-winded way of saying that yeah um what else can i tell you guys chucky's good guy doll voice is now performed by child actor nick fisher digging over from eden gross the first three films and michel ruff from curse of chucky wow all the voices sound exactly the same for his voice so that's a good job they did matching that i agree really really good work hi i'm chucky want to play could i get cast maybe for the first part yes

Starting point is 00:13:21 it's good it's good you trailed off but it was you crush the improv was not good but the one of the first negotiations Don Mancini made to sci-fi

Starting point is 00:13:30 for the show's production was Chuckie's sailor mouth he insisted that it was vital enough to the tone that sci-fi actually has it

Starting point is 00:13:37 in writing that the cast can drop F-bombs uncentered eight to ten times an episode hell yeah and of course

Starting point is 00:13:44 most of them are taken up by the pint size slasher, it gets better after the first episode as every previously on is typically the first one of the episode to set the mood. I adore that rule. I love that. There are so many horror shows and horror films that I think try to not push because they want to be like PG-13 or they don't want to push it too far.

Starting point is 00:14:10 I like that because it seems more realistic to me to like if you're going to drop an F-bomb and you really feel like it's needed, then use it. I love that. You imagine seeing somebody murdered in front of you and not be screaming. Yeah. Not be like, oh, fuck. Right? Right. Crazy. Okay, so those, that's the trivia. Wow. Man, this just feels. It feels odd to be saying goodbye to it now. We're not saying goodbye to you guys. No, not at all. Not at all. Chuckie for this for now. For now.
