Nope. I have an actual, I have a speech prepared.
Go ahead. Why don't we roll the book?
Let's hear. Okay, let's go.

Look cool, look sexy, look awesome.
Greg, what do you think of season six episode two?
First again, well, Andrew.
I'll tell you, man.
Yeah, go ahead.
It was a bit of a weird episode.
I still enjoyed it.
I still thought it was fun.
It's a weird episode two,
digesting it a little bit.
I kind of feel like some stuff was a little not tonally transitioning all that well
because you got this whole thing with crease on this other type of ancient martial arts movie that he's embarked on.
Yes.
And then you have, like, college frat boy things happening.
You're talking about it's the same thing.
And then lands into this, like, huge college party fight where we're suddenly going soft on Kyler.
And I like the Johnny storyline quite a bit with him trying to, like, I see how this is the final season.
Because they really are wrapping up character arcs and they are setting him on a path where he does have to grow.
Like, he can't just do this stuff.
I mean, there is a version where you can make decent money doing martial arts, but with the way things are going, yeah, he needs a proper job.
So I like that they are continuing that journey of him growing up.
It's like, while this is going to be Daniel Swan Song of karate, it's also about establishing where the final journeys are or what will be like that final step that we see them take.
It won't be like the conclusion, but, you know, as their journey progressed, I think you guys don't have to try to it.
Don't force it, Greg.
Forced.
But the, but yeah, I think, I think, though, that the episode was a bit, it was, it was, I don't make it say it's like it was a weird.
It was like a weird one that was, that was fun.
But there's something like it was a tad off to me at times in terms of just what they're asking of us to surrender.
I don't know, I don't know what you're talking about, man.
That whole journey with Crease
And then Johnny trying to find a job
And find stability
And then the whole college frathing
That all felt simultaneously the same thing to me
So I totally it felt the same
I think when they do those episodes that
Commit to like this other type of genre
Or they go into the flashbacks
I feel like if that's like the predominant storyline
You still do need a B story
That does help tonally complement it
And I'm starting to wonder
like okay is it because it's final season are they trying to like truncate a lot into into once
this is kind of like a thick 35 minutes we just want there's like a lot that happened yeah
and it i don't know if it's like a bit much or not right it makes me wonder how the
structure of events will play out in i i'm excited by the idea of this three bursts of five
episodes format because it kind of splits the difference uh but i i'm also wondering how far along
in the process that was the decision and if it
affected how they paste
everything and how they shaped each
five episode unit
because there are certain aspects
I really like the first episode
a lot and this episode I would
agree kind of has like a strange
array of tones happening
and it felt a little bit
like the first episode seemed like it was well
tonally tied around whereas this one was
a little bit more
disjointed feeling even though there is
like a similar theme of you know
removing the obstacles in your way, whatever those might be.
Yeah, I feel like Cobra Chi has always had an element of,
there's camp in the soup,
and there are certain times where the show will hit you with a broad plotline
or a broad choice of some kind that feels like we are cresting
into, you know, like the cheesier end of the 80s movie spectrum.
But I would agree, it's like usually they're pretty good at not jumping the shark
with that stuff.
And this didn't go as deep down the rabbit hole as it could,
but especially the second episode.
It's funny.
You were talking about the first episode
having this sort of like forced dynamic
of like, oh, we need to generate some advancement
for some of these characters,
so we're going to put them all in the same place
at the same time, so we can have a couple conflicts
pay off from that.
And I wasn't really bothered by that
in the first episode, whereas this one,
it does sort of feel like, I don't know,
for something especially with Crease
that involves like, you know, yeah,
it's the original sensei who taught you what you know
and he's like ancient, and he's just,
alive but even there's only like a couple scenes in lead up to that like it's all stuff that
I feel like with him especially you could kind of broaden out and I guess that might make for
a different kind of show but it's like we resolve the whole crease vision quest in one
episode and there's a whole bunch of other stuff going on in the episode so I wonder if something
like that could be a little bit more rich or at least managed to do the thing the show is
often good at which is embrace the cheeseness that this plot line has on it that sort of different
80s type movie kind of
set of clichés that it's bouncing
off of, but also
sell the pathos and sell the character
journey underneath it. Like all the nuts and bolts
are there, but yeah, due to the pacing
and the compliments or
maybe lack of compliments from the other plot
lines does kind of clash, I
suppose. I want
to take a quick moment to thank today's sponsor
Acorns. I first heard about this investment
app from Dwayne the Rock Johnson. Not directly.
I just saw an ad for it. And I was like, let's
try this out because let's be real. Investors
can feel like a daunting task. And many people, myself included, don't know where to start most
of the time. I have many friends who invest, impart their wisdom to me, and I still get overwhelmed
by the thought of it. Plus, there's this myth that you need a ton of money to get started.
So with our busy lives, it's very easy to put off thinking about our financial future. And what's
great about Acorns is it makes it easy to start automatically saving and investing for your
future. Best part, you don't need a lot of money or expertise to start with Acorns. In fact,
you can get started with just your spare change. Acorns recommends an expert built portfolio
that fits you and your money goals, automatically invest your money for you.
It's made investing super straightforward and stress-free.
As someone who has been living off of commission for a very long time now,
having something to invest in is very important in my life.
The idea that small actions today can have a massive impact on your future really resonates with me.

All that being said, I do vouch for them.
And so does Dwayne the Rock Johnson.
Don't have a ton of Easter eggs or references before I get into the episode.
A couple of them, though, were chosen says to Johnny Karate here, not here.
That's what Miyagi said to Daniel.
also too there was
Master Kim Son Young
said to Johnny
or John Crease rather about
it was like a rift on the
No Such Thing as Bad Student
Only Bad Teacher Bay said it a different way
We saw the picture in Daniel's office
of Mr. Miyagi and Daniel
that was after Daniel defeated Mike Barnes
in the 1985 All Valley
Yeah I don't have too many other ones
But in reference to Johnny knowing about cars and all that
We did see that
I got it a little wrong there
I said in season two
was actually at the end of season one.
I believe it was episode nine,
if I'm not mistaken.
That was where...
We have a Star Trek fans level of...
That was where Louis,
or Daniel's cousin and the bikers blew up of his car,
and then he had to give him the Dodge or whatever.
And he said, like,
it has this much horsepower or whatever,
and Daniel said to him,
you know about cars?
He's like, yeah, what man doesn't?
Yeah.
That's totally within Johnny's...
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah. So I do like that again, you know, the writers have shown, you know, that they put little seeds in the ground and then later, you know, pay them off and show us beautiful bonzies later on, you know, in later season. So I do appreciate that. So it would make sense that Johnny would be good with cars. I mean, he loves cars. So I do appreciate that. And I also like this idea of Johnny, like, finally doing this nine to five thing, even though it's obviously we love seeing him as a badass, as a sensee and all that. That's great.
I still want to keep in that, but we did see him have that conversation with, I believe his name was Lyle, the pawn shop owner, you know, in last season where he said was, hey, dude, do you think I wanted to own a pawn shop? No, I do this for my kids. It allows me financial freedom and time to spend with my family. So I think Johnny has realized like, hey, he's got another kid on the way. He wants to start a life with Carmen, and he's got to take care of Robbie and Miguel wants to make some more money for them for college as well, wants to get a house. So I do like this development with him.
him and getting a job.
I did like the whole thing with
Kreece. Yeah, I get what you guys are saying, where we
got to wrap it up in one episode. I mean, we only got
five episodes. It's fun. Yeah,
it's good. I agree.
Totally. It was a totally different
show from that to go into
college frat stuff, to go into Johnny
with this whole, like, you know, needing
stability and all that stuff, which, again,
I really like that all, but it, like
the tones and the transitions,
it was just the pacing and the
tone of it just, I feel like we
would have debated the letting go of
Johnny rather than wrapping that
in one fight. There's that scene in the
therapy room in the previous season
where it cycles through
like all these different relevant voices and that scene
felt like it had enough meat on the bone
and they let that breathe. And you have the DH
Johnny in that scene. Sure. And I felt like
they could have done, with some more
breathing room in an episode like this, we could have done that.
I never quite got swept up
in any storyline.
Yeah. That's a good way to put that. It was
like I was digesting it. I think
Kyler was fun. I thought that was actually fun.
And I thought for the most part of the storylines were fun.
Yeah.
But I don't know.
I just the second episode.
I don't really care.
I honestly.
The rest will be great.
I don't really care.
In regards to Kyler, I mean, like, look, he's been a piece of shit for five seasons.
But again, that's like I mentioned in the last season, or the last episode, rather,
Cobra Kai and Karate Kid is all about redemption.
And I do like that they're trying to humanize him and tell us, you know, his hardships
and all that.
you know we can get a little bit of sympathy going for him so i did appreciate that i don't know if i
still have an emotional attachment towards him just because he was so awful uh the last five seasons
i think i need to build up to that a little bit more um also too i did forget to mention um when
he does pour the uh drink on that piece of shit college frat guy i believe hawk did that to
dmitri in season two and also he did that to miguel with the peptobismal in season one
uh guys do you have anything else you want to add before we finish off this episode
you guys loved.
No, man.
I mean, I thought it was a fine one.
It's fine.
Get that snake.
You're not really, like, bothered by not loving the episode.
I'm sure I'll love the rest.
It's still enjoyable.
It was a little less like just only enjoyable.
Yeah, there's a few bumps along the road, but still, like, having a blast.
There's like a billion episodes.
Did not wreck the show.
I make every single one perfect.
Every now and again, you'll have a decent episode.
Yeah.
And most of the time when you're,
you're watching Cobre Kai, you're not doing what we're doing,
but he's talking about every episode.
You're just...
You're just getting through the whole thing.
It was.
Yeah.
Probably if we're just bingey,
if we wouldn't even, like,
really consider any of these thoughts.
Yeah.
We'd just be like,
all right, let's watch the next one.
Right.
That's a good point.
We might be like,
oh, it's a little weird girl.
Probably by the end of episode five,
we might go, okay, I don't mind season,
episode two.
I mean, I still like that.
I'm going to be thinking about episode two
and waiting for everything to make this episode better from here on a...
Like, as I'm talking,
as we talk,
about her. My mind's always of the other mindset
of like, I wouldn't really be talking about this
if I was watching something. I'd just be like moving
on to the next one. I'd be done with episode
five by now. I could see
Craig in a few months. Remember season
six episode too?
Anyways, guys, what did
