More on them in just a bit.
Guys, anything you want to say before we get into the finale here.
I'm just excited that we're going to be waiting again.
One more time.
Oh, yeah, one more time.
One more time.
All right, season six, episode 10.
I don't even know how to pronounce this.
Commence.
Cut to me.
That's a cliffhager.
Oh, my God.
That's how you do a clip hanger.
I asked you guys who was going to die.
Yeah.
And silence over the credits.
Wow.
Yeah, I mean, I didn't.
Wow.
That last like seven,
there might have been like some slight predictabilities
and how some fight parts went down.
It was so much of that was so unpredictable.
I don't know who that would have possibly predicted a freaking rumble at the end.
That was absolutely bonkers.
That was bonkers.
Well, guys, if you are listening to us on Apple or spot,
Spotify. We just watched season six, episode 10. However, John pronounced it earlier.
Junjongdo. What he just said, give us five-star ratings. We would really appreciate us if you want cool teas like these, reject nation shop.com.
Oh, look you there. Greg is working on his notes, so I'll let him do that.
Am I?
No.
Am I?
Sensei doesn't need pages.
Cavs, what did you think?
Cavs. I mean, this was bonkers. This was quite gripping.
This was a journey from beginning to end.
I mean, you know, it started out where you would have expected.
Everyone's desperate for some last-minute inspiration.
Everyone's feeling the hurt and the bruises up until this point.
The road's so far getting that one bit of inspiring, you know,
clicking together of everyone's intentions as Danny and Johnny figure out how to inspire the team
after being inspired by Miguel, all that stuff, great.
And then this, like, it's the thing as we've been sitting here,
This has been a fascinatingly distributed season
as we've touched on a few times
and I feel like this chunk,
this middle chapter has lived up to more
of what I hoped that this release strategy could be
but also within that I'm sitting here,
yeah, going like, well, how do they do this?
Because we're already at like kind of the finals, right?
Or the semifinals.
So there's not like five episodes
more worth of this competition is there.
And then, yeah, to have this all devolve
and to leave us off in a place where
uncertainty is
the new name of the game
is I think a very clever and
gripping idea because now I'm like
I don't know what's going to happen in these last five episodes
They're all going to say goodbye for five episodes
That's right. That's what's going to happen
individually each episode. Greg
What did you think?
I thought so many things
I think you have to have moments
in a show like this episodes
perhaps that are predictable
in order for there to land unpredictability
because you prime your audience for a certain expectation
of how things are going to unfold.
Even right before the brawl went down,
we were discussing, I was like,
all right, well, then just based off a story structure
what will tend to happen is that Sam might lose the fight with Tori.
That way, Tori can fight Zara.
It all just seemed like it was falling in the place
and the way you would sort of expect.
You were saying that Miguel would probably have to step in
after Robbie's injured and it looked like it was headed that path as well.
And all it took was one elbow strike to,
to go into this chaotic mess
and I love like the bookends of this
because so much about what Daniel has been processing
is everything I ever learned ingrained in a lie perhaps
like is it all just kind of bullshit that I
it's I think what Daniel's going through is like when you
let's say you like fall into a religion
and then you found out that it was just created by some guy
who never actually had any crazy spiritual
supernatural experiences but you
but you believe that your whole life.
And you're like, is everything about this religion a lie now?
So I think that's what Daniel's going through.
And then to learn about this was like probably the last time there was a death in the Psyche-Tai
was when Mr. Miyagi was there.
And then the time Miyagi Doe enters the Psyche-Tai is when there's a death.
Like I think that is a really good storytelling.
Yeah.
To finally book in that, to have it be a good payoff to end off on the note,
but even though they don't die at that.
No one dies at the hands of Miyagi,
but it kind of seems like it's a bit of a curse,
and that's kind of the way how Johnny was talking,
not Johnny,
Danny was talking about it on the beach,
was I keep working on defense.
That's what Miyagi does supposed to be about,
and yet I keep landing us into more and more offensive fights.
You keep landing into more rivalries.
Like, it just keeps getting worse in my,
and so I actually started,
this whole, it took me a long time,
but I finally feel like it really clicked with me in this episode.
Oh, I get what Dan is really going.
through of questioning a sort of like a religious system that he's had his whole
identity is based off of Miyagi Do's teachings and now it's thwarted and he feels kind of like
a curse that's walking around so I thought this was like an excellent sequence with a
with some of the best choreography I feel like this season is actually done like the fight
between Axel and Robbie was a really gripping well done fight and then to get an all-out
brawl like I think it's a lot I don't think I don't know who would have predicted that
I don't know how you could have predicted that yeah and then when it comes
it just lands you in a territory of like I don't think anybody expected that to happen
maybe it was part of Terry's plan because they did say Terry wants something to be
publicized cameras and all that you're right yeah so I don't know but I feel like this
for for a section of the tournament that for the most part was playing out in a way that
you kind of expected to play out even if there was like not entirely predictable but for the
most part nothing like truly surprising happening they so end us off in a way or like
Wow, that's bad shit.
Never seen anything this crazy done in Kobra Kai before.
Yeah.
That was a really great television.
Yeah, no, you guys mentioned Raid and Purge and all that,
which I could totally see.
But, I mean, like I mentioned, that whole fight escalated really reminded me of the finale of season two,
like in the high school where everything was chaotic all over the place.
But this was just like times 10, just except you got all these trained, you know,
dojos from all over the world.
And I just love how, like, as chaotic as it was.
We were still able to follow all the action.
I mean, there was a couple ADR, you know, things that were a little over the place.
But aside from that, it was incredible ADR.
Yeah.
That was the one thing.
You've got to call it out.
I'm trying to be nice here.
No, Andrew, ruined the entire episode for me.
It's back terrible television.
Those four lines of bad ADR ruined it for me.
But what I was going to get at is the difference between that fight at the season two finale is we saw Miguel had a near-death experience where he got kicked off the balcony.
was paralyzed for a little bit
but this one obviously with Kwan
you know it kind of
bookend and mirrored what happened with Miyagi
I thought that was interesting
that they actually went that route but I like
how they kept it ambiguous like we had that
moment with Daniel we're like
Daniel's going to get stabbed right here like
right to the very last second
I really thought he was going to jump in and I'm not sure what
I don't think any of us were thinking like Kwan's going to get himself
step I was like either Axel is going to get shanked
Or Danny's going to get shit.
I kept thinking Axler Dan.
And I think like the writers are like, I know the audience is going to think that too.
And we're going to, again, you know, subverse the expectations.
And they really did.
I mean, there were so many things that you pointed out earlier.
Like, I think it's going this way.
I think it's going this way.
It was completely unpredictable in all the right ways.
And that's my favorite kind of TV or movies to watch.
I'm like, I love unpredictability when it's satisfying.
I also got to say, too, one of my favorite.
You see in the middle of the brawl when Luke Skywalker threw the lightsaber over his shoulder?
older. They just cut to him doing that. I did, I did, I did notice that. That was crazy. I did notice that. I will say to one of
my favorite moments when, you know, Daniel and Johnny are going at each other because Daniel's questioning everything. Understandably so, you know, for the points that you mentioned earlier, I thought Miguel really gave an inspiring speech and I love the way. Jolo, is that what he said?
Sholo. I love the way he delivered that. Bluebeato. Yes, Bluebeato. I love the way he delivered. I really love the way he delivered that speech.
and just say, hey, look, yeah, your sense
did this and your sense did that.
Tough shit.
You've done this for us.
You've done this for us.
Did your sensei do this?
Did your sense do that?
It's like, I really thought that was a cathartic moment
just for both of them.
Because like, yeah, whether you're questioning
whatever your sensei did in the past
and I get it, you've accomplished
such great things in your own right too.
And like, look where we're at right now.
Look at all the great stuff you've achieved.
Right.
I just really thought that hit home with Miguel's speech.
And I thought that was just such a beautifully delivered
a scene just monologue-wise
for Miguel
and just he's such a great character
I mean I also
thought it was hysterical
what you say is like
it was very well timed
for him to just walk out
to the beach
I think they're gonna reveal
like there's a bunch of them
and then hanging out
and I was like
I guess Miguel was just there
and having said that
I still love the scene
and I love like what it was
going for
it just was a great scene
it's one of my favorite
scenes in the episode
if not my favorite
besides obviously
the brawl that we got
at the end
But that was great.
And I'm glad also, too, we got the crease and silver.
I think that was a long time coming from the end of season five that we get to see them go one-on-one.
Also, too, you get the message here as well.
I mean, besides the bookend of what happened with Miyagi-do last entering the tournament when there was a death,
you see like the downfalls and the consequences of trying to go for revenge.
You know, crease had that dagger that was in his backside.
It dropped, Kwan found the dagger, and there's a teenager dead as a result of someone going after revenge.
Thank you to Huell for sponsoring today's video.
Now, guys, I'm going to give you all the God's honest truth of how this sponsorship came to be.
Sponsorship came to be.
We got contacted about basically partnering up with Huell.
Before we agreed to anything, the very first thing I said was I would like to try the product first.
I did a Instagram post on our Real Rejects one.
It was the first time you see me trying the Hewell product.
Basically going like, hey, we might not partner with them.
This is not a paid Instagram post, but I just wanted to try it since a lot of you guys
asked for, like, health recommendations now and the know kind of what I take only because
of the fact that I'm vegetarian.
I have very limited protein options.
So I gave it a shot and ended up loving it.
Primarily the chocolate one.
Wow, this is really, this is a really great one.
One of the best things about it is that, yes, it's prepackaged.
And a lot of times when it comes to like the prepackaged bottles, I'm not a big fan
of them normally, which he got me drinking on camera.
is one of these which takes a very long time to put together and can often get messy and it's just not aesthetically pleasing but i'm trying to pack like a lot of vitamins and fiber protein the best part about huel is a lot of what i try to pack into this one giant shake is already available in this little bottle often taste better than what i can actually assemble myself it actually tastes great it's got a high protein intake count as well and you know what
brand new bottle if you guys can see it's filled to the top this is how good it tastes
Now, normally what you want to do is spread it out, but if you want it in one go, it is just as good.
It tastes really freaking good.
Thank you so much for sponsor in this video.
The one thing they want me to say is this is you can get 15% off Huell today with code Rejects at Huel.com slash Rejects.
Fuel your best performance with Huel today.
They are great, and I am already almost out of the many bottles they sent me.
If you guys do go check them out at Hewell.com slash Rejects.
You'll see that they've got a whole bunch more items available as well.
And if they taste anything as good as this, I'm going to be a very happy customer for a very, very long time.
So join me on this health journey.
Well, I mean, they even have the, oh, my God, I feel so bad.
You guys know her name.
What is Asian women's name?
Oh, Kim Dione.
Kim Dione.
Yeah.
Kim Dione and Tori have that conversation about what is.
what is the purpose of winning, what do you sacrifice in pursuit of this, the symbolism of the dagger of where that dagger is retrieved from for Creece, how that became Creece's property, and then watching how this is sort of like passed around, there was elements of like curses that I've, like, and especially for a season that has done a little bit more spirituality things, just a little bit, to say, or mythological stuff that seems to have approached a new kind of like martial arts genre at times.
It doesn't kind of work, but for a season.
But I liked how it's implemented in this, where it doesn't feel like they're not doing like anything to draw attention to these themes in that way where it seems like there's a supernatural presence among us.
It just lets you project on to it.
When you think about it, you're like, oh, it's there.
Oh, it's like it's laced throughout.
So I thought that was a really excellent one.
And I do feel like this season still overall, there is elements about it, even in this episode where I do think that.
By trying to tell part ones, part two's, part three, they do truncate some stuff together.
Like in this episode when Johnny and Danny are having a thing and then there's a speech.
And now we've got a montage number back at the second.
Like there's still, sometimes I do feel like they kind of pack in a little too much.
Even though I really like those scenes still, there's still moments where I will get a sense of,
I do feel like in a different season this would have breathed better.
Yeah.
I will still get like senses like that.
However, I've kind of adjusted to that with this season.
So it doesn't bother me as much anymore when it occurs.
And then you can still get like rewarding as shit like that,
which at the final moments were just excellent, excellent stuff.
Yeah, and this episode, I mean, like kind of encapsulates something that Cobra Kai has always had since the beginning,
which is like you have the heart, you have the like surprisingly pretty solid and impressive fight choreography.
And then you have the element where they're flirting with the line of jumping the shark and going too crazy.
but I think that's always been part of the soup
and this episode absolutely encapsulates that
or Danny getting kidnapped.
It's like, you're like, is this going to go too far?
Yeah.
But they somehow like manage to spin it in a way
that does make sense within the bounds of these world
even still.
And I have to like really respect the writers
for again knowing how to bring us up to that line
because multiple times in this show
I've had a sort of feeling like,
is this too much?
And they always manage to earn it and bring it back
or at least for the most part they do.
And I think that's impressive.
For sure.
I'm also really excited when we start the next episode, whenever that is in 2025.
You know, I thought they did a great job in season three episode one after that whole high school brawl,
really seeing the ramifications and the consequences of what had just happened and not just prushing over that event.
So I'm curious to see where we go from here and what the hell happens.
So it's exciting stuff, but I hate that we have to wait.
I wish we could just watch the next five right now, but one question.
Yes.
How do we all feel about the prologue?
Oh, with Miyagi?
I think you're more, the most bothered episode.
I say deepfake all the time.
I love deepfakes.
I say, I'm more meant the context of the fight.
I say I be more, I'm more, when it comes to deep faking, I understand why people really get up in arms.
And I do think it's ugly and icky.
At the same time, I'm not as bothered by it as most people are, nor would I,
suggest doing it
I would never be like
you know what we should do
we should deep fake
it was also really
it depends on the context
yeah it was also really quickly done
so it didn't
I'm not actually asking about that
I'm asking about the context of the
and it's also in a dream
so John I don't think you have to get
so mad about it
that's right John
calm down
like within a dream
I think it's more appropriate
to use a deep fake in a dream
because it's already supposed to feel like
artificial and fantastical and not real.
So to do like a deep fake where it doesn't look real, I think it just is intentionally.
It only adds to it.
So I don't think you need to be upset about it, John.
Excellent.
Yeah.
Excellent.
I hope I answered your question.
Yes.
That you were asking.
All right.
Well, guys, that was a great answer.
Craig, as always.
We're not going to talk about that.
Yeah.
Any final thoughts?
Are we got it all out of the way?
Guys, with all that being said, guys, what did you?
What did you think of...
What did you want to talk about for a long ago?
The actual, the actual thematics of that scene of him and Miyagi fighting back and forth
and him having this sort of very cutthroat sort of vibe, this very unmiaghi vibe that Daniel is...
I mean, what's about it?
I don't know.
I guess there's nothing to say.
I mean, I feel like it's, it was just a visual of what he's experiencing.
It's just what he's experiencing.
It's like, was there this version of Biagi is everything.
I feel like it's what we've been talking about.
He had just...
He had just learned that Miyagi had, there was a death whose Miyagi was the fighter.
And it's like, wait, is every context.
I don't know.
I was, I didn't bother me personally.
I'm not bothered.
I'm not bothered.
Here's the better question.
I didn't know if there would be something interesting to talk about there.
I got the better question.
What did you think?
I want to know your thoughts.
It was fine.
Let's ask John what he thinks about, not the deep fake.
I don't want to hear about the deep take, John.
What did you think of the scene?
I don't know.
The theme.
We're good.
Thanks for watching.
What's going on?
Why aren't you answer?
come on john i thought there would be a discussion but there's not so we're good
we thought it was fine we gave our we're the only two who gave our opinions about it
and you said what there was to be said what's your opinion about no you said you said what you said
okay all right um whatever john you're right um guys me off man i found out yeah guys let us know in
the comments what did you think about that first scene we want to know about the thematics
the deep fakes everything but uh also what did you think about this episode
Season 6 part 2 as a whole.
What do you think of season 6 as well?
We'd love to hear your thoughts.
Are you excited for season 6 part 3?
Make sure you subscribe.
Make sure you hit that notification bell.
That way you are notified whenever we drop videos such as these
or when that season 6 part 3 whenever it comes out.
And thank you guys.
We appreciate it.
Thanks for joining us this season.
We'll see you guys later.
You know who I'd want fighting on our team?
Who's that?
Who would you like to see fight on our team?
Gabriel.
Okay.
You know why?
Because he would not be concerned whatsoever with morality whilst fighting because he doesn't
believe in any higher power.
He doesn't believe.
He's a freaking atheist.
He's an atheist.
We did it again.
We did it again.
We found him.
We found the atheist.
We found the atheist angle.
We did it once more.
Did it?
No mercy.
Strike hard.
Strike first.
If you don't believe there's anything afterwards, why would you?
you care what pain you inflict
on someone else.
There's no punishment
in the afterlife.
Grim time. You need
a killer on your
team. Someone who would literally
take their opposable thumbs
and crush their
eyeballs into the back of their skulls.
If that means winning
even a silver medal, they
would do such a thing.
Oh my God. You got to have
an atheist on your team. You have to. It's a
I it's part of the audition process is atheists we only 18 to 30 atheists is what we look for
we we have it out in the newspaper yeah we have people who try and recite the our father in every
interview and if you can recite the whole thing you don't make the team you don't make the
goddamn team you're out of here immediately yeah we don't have time for faith because faith gets
in the way compromises your moral dilemma and there's something we know about people who don't
believing anything, they have no moral
code. No moral code whatsoever. They are the worst
individuals. They are amoral. They will turn on a dive.
They are so, they are so judgmental about other people.
They just look down their noses at you. They just really are,
they criticize those. Constantly. And they just
lord over you because there is no lord.
All of them are this. They're also prejudiced.
They are a monolith. They are prejudiced. They are destroyed.
They are destroyed.
All atheists are prejudiced.
They are all this way.
And you need that if you're going to win the psych guy.
If you want to win on the world stage,
if you want to beat a bunch of kids down.
Any purey fraudy tournament.
You need the purest evil, which is you, Gabriel.
It's all for you, Gabriel.
All right.
Well, we did it.
Happy Thanksgiving, thanks for being, buddy.
Thank you.
