Let's watch, Richard Commando's episode five. In three, two, good luck, editors, one.
I really just... I might know this band, yeah, dude.
I really just, like, left a mark on my heart there.
I was like, oh, that's kind of messed up.
It's got to just be a mercy kill, right?
Or he just doesn't leave witnesses.
She was blind.
Wow.
While she was pleading and crying for him to stay.
Yeah.
I mean, he's a bad guy, as we know.
I know, but you know.
You want to like him.
I know.
It's so fun and fun.
He's my favorite character.
Bring him back.
Then one second, I'm like, oh, no, what have you done?
He's a stalker of the bride who we loved earlier,
but we haven't seen him sometime in that emotional way.
I really think that was world in front of friendships.
The bride was created for him.
I mean, as women are.
Just like my wife was created for me.
Yeah.
Accepted society.
Look who played Clayface.
Alan Tudic.
No way.
I was looking for, I assumed he was, that's, dude, Alan Tudic.
But they have all the Mortal Kombat characters.
that's so funny
that's great scorpion
that's funny
the Alan Tudek
used of multiple characters
of the show
has been nothing
but like astronomical
he I would never have guessed
like he is so good
that was episode five
of creature commandos
we only have two to go
we had that in insane
multifaceted episode four
and then episode five
brings us back to the A plot
with a side of
the Frankenstein flashback
who we hadn't really gotten
a lot of Eric Frankenstein's
solo stuff
we'd seen him with the bride's context
I like the POV
switch so we can see his side of that story
as it pertains to his love and all
the stuff we had with Rick Flagg.
That was another great episode.
I mentioned at the top how much we care
about these characters even influencing my experience
with the opening credits, but
I really am invested enough. I mean, Greg got like
silent when Frankenstein did what he was made
to do. It destroyed
me.
Because I'm like,
whoa, I don't know.
Call me crazy.
I just don't like seeing old
women get hurt murdered i hate that like you know when you've watched like true crime
you're not really you know saying me as well those people who watches that stuff i love those
shows really and then i watch those and i'm like oh how dare they do too and you know it's like
two in the morning and i'm like eating dinner now is my time i'm like let me watch true crime
before i go to bed this will help me rest this will help my mind go to sleep uh yeah but yeah
but yeah i mean whenever it's like elder people most like uh some people
have like that specific for some people are like children women I'm elder the rest can
die slowly and painfully no the the elder people because I was like oh gypsy maybe they're
going to do something where she's like a witch or something you know some cliche gypsy thing that
gypsy people don't like that's an offensive word isn't it whatever um they said in the show so
we're saying it's how we do it and the the the moment where he kills her I just found myself
kind of lost because
yeah
it just made me question
my connection
like what I like him
he's my best friend
maybe question like
wait have I been like not supposed
to love Frankenstein this whole time
that's what the
the politeness of a villain
he's a man of duality
and it's a really cool way to
charm you to this villain
like they make him
a villain when you first meet him
and then they charm you for two episodes
I mean but he's so funny in this episode
I mean, he's, like, selfish and a narcissist.
But, like, that's a good villain when you're, like, when you understand how people can get caught in their smell.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
People get caught in the spell of, like, narcissists and, like, like, the, the sociopaths.
And we did.
We bought the, we bought the soup.
Tell him about me.
Tell her about me.
I don't give a shit.
He's so good.
He's so funny.
And there I go.
I forgive him.
Yep, that's it.
That's it.
I just got to remember what he was doing.
We got to remember our good time.
with Eric Frankenstein we can forgive anything but why did he do it was it because of just like she's
alone she's not going to ever find someone to connect with again and so he never leave her alone
i mean she would be alone and she was alone before he got there and she was fine yeah she was
handling things just fine yeah yeah and he think he's a bad man she saved him but i just don't
understand the intention of doing it yeah i'm assuming he doesn't leave witnesses it doesn't seem like he
just mercilessly kills.
I mean, he did kill
the helicopter pilot.
Yeah, but he was provoked by them.
The guy was provoked. He thought the guy's
provoked. He thought the guy was
He felt like he was provoked. Yeah, he
the guy, first guy was he thought he was making fun
of his, like, facial hair or whatever, and then the helicopter
guy was fighting against him for the shoot that
Frankenstein was doing. So he killed him.
Whereas she was just, yeah. Yeah, she was being
like so sweet to him.
I don't know.
Ask David Harbor.
the writers. Maybe we'll find out
next week that he does merciless.
Haven't you interview him for a crossover?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We did.
Yeah, back in the day. We've done a bunch of interviews together.
He's the ambassador for box lunch right now.
He's a sweetheart. He's a really good dude.
He donated $100,000 to feed people.
Like, he's a really good dude. I love David Herbert. He's an absolute angel.
And his sense of humor is so funny that
for like...
It's one of my favorite hot ones, guess.
The first 15 minutes of our hour, the first time I met him,
I thought he hated me because his humor is so dry.
And then I realized that was all like a very,
endearing when I watched it back like about 20 minutes then I was like oh we're on the same page
but I watched it I was like did he hate me in the beginning and he's just very like dry and very
funny he actually bought me comics he's the only guest that bought me comics oh how sweet yeah he's
sweetheart good guy and incredible delivery here um but yeah uh I really really like this show
I think it's a testament to how good it is that we're like wrecked by it I can't believe we got
clay face um oh yeah I was also like I think the show's very over stimulating in in a good way
Like, there's so much going on that I paused and forgot, like, all the people that could be Clayfitt.
Like, I'm so enraptured that I'm, like, what's next, what's next?
And I'm not thinking at comics.
And that feels really good.
Like, I'm not looking for the things.
I'm enjoying the show.
So, like, I didn't think of Clayface because that's literally, like, there's no way.
There's, like, literally the only character I can think of that does mimic at D.C.
And, like, to that, like, level.
Yeah.
Because other people, like, can wear, like, masks and do, like, you know, uh, espion.
but like that was morphing which is clayface yeah i just kind of assumed that we wouldn't see like a true
bad i mean phosphorus you said he's part of a bad man villain yeah he's a batman tech but clayface is like
he's one of the torrid like iconic he's a big one yeah phosphoress is like you know here and there
but clayface is clayface uh McPherson died uh I'm curious how that ties in the mascara this
this show opened with the mascara and I thought it was just world building for like you know
Wonder Woman's coming but I do feel like the mascara is a main plot point that's about to turn
into something. Because we've gone to
the Mascara College.
Started off on it. Yeah.
Like that was the opening.
Yeah. So I'm really curious what,
and there's the Themiscair show that was announced when James Gunn did his first
10 announcements. Yeah.
So I'm really curious what that element is.
But yeah, I really, I mean, I'm excited.
I hope we get a phosphorus episode.
I would have believed that Rick Flagg died if not for knowing.
It's like it is a James Gun death.
Yeah, a thousand percent.
So, but you know what?
We're so in the bubble of pop culture that I guarantee there's a nice blissful 90% of people that don't do what we do that think he's dead for a week.
Yeah, and then we just totally spoiled it for them.
Those 90% don't watch the deep cut pop culture.
Oh, it might be.
The one that passed away while he was swimming in the suicide squad.
Oh, dude, it might be.
I mean, they look like the same breed.
Yeah.
That is very beautiful as a tribute if it is.
It looks like they could be his dog, yeah.
in that in that one tobacco ad i mean or is this the dog that because i mean he's a dog lover so he might
have had different dogs but uh but i think the one that passed it might be him and that seems like a
loving tribute which i like i respect that let's see when was this post by james this was 22 okay no
maybe it wasn't the one that passed might just be his current dog yeah maybe he just loves dogs
yeah anyway yeah um but yeah a little less to talk about this episode just because the one prior had like
many things this is moving that a plot forward but again the
Chemistry is amazing.
I really think Grillo and David Harbour filmed in the same booth.
I really feel that connection between the two of them in a really cool way.
And the action continues to be really badass.
The scene of phosphorus going through the bodies with his fingers up, like, it's just so good.
I feel like hurt.
I know.
You're quiet.
That really, like, effective.
Gotcha.
It really just, like, shocked me that he did that.
That was me with the, I think the kids with Weasel, like, I think me as kids, and he was elderly.
Like, kids are just starting their lives.
lives like elderly i don't know a lot of time like i just think they're just so poor it's
they're so like it's just so like i don't know there's just something about like an elder i don't
i don't even know what it is that's great though it's it's no if frankest i did this like a kid i would
feel the same way right now like it's just like or just some innocent person yeah uh uh
you connected to her yeah be the fact that he was connected to her after just having like
what was a delightful journey with the guy
think that's the part that kind of shocked me
because he's been my favorite character.
Yeah. And then to have him do like
the cruelest thing.
Yeah. Like that's a reputable harm to your take.
Like I love that something's so traumatic. It's irreparable
to your experience of him. Yes. Because like
of course it's not right for him
to be this much
of a stalker.
This much. You should calm down the stock. There's
a certain healthy level of stock. Did you tell her about
me? But
he's such. But that's
like such a part of the
Frankenstein DNA
you know of like yeah he they have the bride
created for him he's obsessed with her I've always been
waiting for the shoe to drop and then in this case
a shoe literally dropped and then he picked up a heavier thing
and it's like the shoe drops within a flashback of something
that happened like 200 years ago yeah
how they get you not something that's
current you're like I don't care if he kills all the people in real time
but is that lady and I think the mystery's working
really well because I don't know if she's actually
if the princess is actually bad but then you see
that they kill everyone yeah the guards
they're attacking first and, you know,
my mind flashes to the suicide squad
in that brilliant scene when
the, when peacemaker
and vigilante are
killing everyone and they're competing.
Yeah. And then they find out
they were actually good for people. And then you're like,
oh. Yeah. So I'm saying, like
just because they're being killed off, does it mean
they're bad. I love that we don't trust anything.
Like this show, like a lot of times shows are written
so you're like, well, it's obviously that. And especially
in shows that are telling, like superhero
stories have a structure. This is messing around a
structure. It's messing around with the mystery. It's messing
around with our expectations. It got Greg so
good. He was silent. Like, it's doing the job.
Yeah, that really messed me up there.
And I feel
there's some other stuff. Fosterous's action scenes. His moments are awesome.
The finger thing going to the tank is like one of the coolest
images. And then the landing in that like
Dr. Manhattan Jesus pose. Well, it's scary
because it's so like transparent in the way
he moves. Yeah. It just goes through.
It's just like a little slide. Yeah.
Like he's like the perfect blade.
Yeah. And like things go through him. He just
saying like it was yeah it's scary it's actually like a scary thing and if they could bring that to
oh he would look so cool in live action but you don't like him as a batman villain uh he just doesn't
get written as well like he's fine it's like funny here he's got a personality yeah like there's
stuff to him whereas like in a batman villain like sometimes he's just like i'm in prison
and he's just like glowing until he got the name right he doesn't play i said he said vigilante
and uh suicide i just want to correct that person that uh it's uh not dead shot oh my god
what hell's his name you just help his character yeah uh oh i would have known if i hadn't
tried to think of it.
Yeah.
The one who's in peacemaker.
That's that interpretation.
What is his name?
How am I forgetting it?
This is my favorite one of my favorite.
This is my favorite of love his performance in that movie so much.
Oh my God.
Comments are even mad now that you brought back up.
Oh my God.
Dead blood.
How am I not?
How am I not?
This is going to bother me so much.
I want to overshadow the video.
I've done 20 hours of filming today.
and I couldn't think of Clayface.
20 hours of filming.
I've just been filming.
24 hours.
Guys, I've been on a live stream
that no one's watching.
20 straight hours of filming.
I am not being
exaggerating this at all.
No, it's 20 straight hours.
This is hour 12, dude.
That's pretty crazy.
It's like 20 if you add eight.
Bloodsport?
Bloodsport.
No, that's a fucking jump.
What's his character name?
Bloodsport.
Yeah, it is blood sport.
for yes okay yeah i i would never i would not have pulled that i would not have nope wow i don't know why
it took me so it was so hard anyway guys have nothing to do with the episode right's been building for 20
i've been for 21 hours quite frankly i should stop complaining for 20 hours
great episode great show very excited for episode six uh we only have two left and there's a lot
of ground to cover but i am so part of and so impressed by the pacing i also feel like it's
going to end in a way that allows these characters to be used well in other stories.
So I don't feel like it's going to have like a cliffhanger or a do we wait for season two.
I think we're going to see these characters sprinkled throughout and that's really exciting.
I would love to watch this as one edit where they just have one intro and then they...
Like a movie?
Yeah, because it's only like 20 minutes an episode and what is that like 140 minutes?
Yeah.
It could be a long movie and I feel like maybe it was pitched as that because I feel like this was
something that he was developing while he was doing the suicide school.
and then it became him doing all DC and now he's like this is first like it feels very much like a gun project even before Superman like I would be surprised I kind of don't want it to end I love it I kind of don't want it to end too left and I'm like oh man I kind of don't want it to end loving spending time with them yeah the more you unpack who they are it just gets better and better to me so affected yeah it's like four would probably still be my favorite episode but like this is not exactly this isn't this isn't a
They still only get better.
This is still great.
There's still, notwithstanding that you enhance.
There's still elements of per episode that get better.
Yeah.
Even if it's like, but like the totality of four is like the best.
But yeah, this was, this was really just.
I don't want it to end.
That's a good point.
As soon.
I'm like, oh, no, that's soon.
Yeah.
And, uh, yeah, we're a weird day and age where it's like, shit was so long.
Now everything's so much shorter.
Yeah.
Attention spans, man.
Just can't get what we want.
Seven episodes.
TV shows were 22.
I know I want to binge things.
but then I want to be weekly
I don't want to go away but I already watched it all
because I binged dude
what do I do
we've got five months till Superman
crazy
six months
oh obviously that's gonna be PG 13
not gonna be Dr. Foster's going through tanks
Superman just like obliterating people by accident
making a joke out of it
cracking necks
guys the show is so good
I hope you're enjoying it as much as we are
we are clearly tired from 20 and 21 hours
of filming apologies for the slap happiness
been a day
But yeah, the show is amazing.
I hope you're enjoying it.

So frankly, you should be.

If you like this, wait till you see when we're awake.
We'll see you soon.
Thank you very much.
Thank you to everyone that worked on Creature Commandos.
You've really impressed me.
I've really really dig in this show.
Thanks, James Gunn, for writing and directing it.
Yeah.
And clearly you're directing it and casting it.
And, I mean, he has actually doing a ton.
Like, clearly the casting is his, like,
I don't know how he's pulling it off.
It's a lot.
Like, I could talk for an hour about how he's, like, I have no, that would be, if I were
to, this, throughout this, I'm going to just keep asking you, like, for questions to ask him.
Yes.
Because I don't know how he does it.
No.
You know, like, I know how the rock does it.
He plays the same character in every movie.
And he has people cook for him.
And he has the same movie.
Like, the rock trains and then shows up.
But, like, to write and then be directing and mapping the universe and not sacral.
this is the only thing we've seen so far of it,
but to not sacrifice quality,
I have no clue how you don't spread yourself
then. It has not suffered. Yeah, I have
no, I mean, this is just the very
beginning. Yeah, that's true. We'll wait until we're
like a few movies in. But
look at the casting on lanterns. Look at the casting on Supergirl. Like, every choice
we know publicly now is insane. We know he wrote
His Peacemaker Season 2. We know he's directing
some of it. And we know he's written and directed Superman. And I'm just like,
how's this guy just like... On to the next. And
kill it he's he's he's i want to say crapping out movies but he's not they're not crap
no it's like suicide squad's your favorite and was very that was not long ago i love that movie it's
so good i feel that people fucking forget oh i i think it's an incredible i agree yeah i i and i
know a lot of people actually don't like it i'm like yeah i don't like people though i'm like
what do you mean this movie's amazing good yeah i i don't think james gun like has a weak
spot as far as his filmography i just think that like he is doing so much i don't know how it's
possible while still being the sustainable.
Like, I don't know what the weakness is.
Yeah.
So, yeah, I'm impressed.
Really, really good show.
I'm really excited to see.
He's also super gray now, too.
It's the comic look.
So white.
He's got that, like, Mc Frost White.
He also looks so old now.
I don't understand.
But, like, good old.
Yeah, no, he's got that, like, on purpose.
Yeah, yeah.
He's like, do you die it a little bit?
He's like the most interesting man, but the comic version?
Yeah, yeah.
Because he didn't used to look like that.
I think he died it for a while.
And post coming back from cancellation, he's like,
I'm super white.
be me. Because now he looks like a comic book guy. Like he looks like an illustration.
Yeah, he does. Which is great. Yeah.
Yeah, this show's great. We're going to end this on this James God Love Fest.
Thanks, James. Really appreciate this. It's really something special. We'll see you next week for six. Bye guys. Bye.
