Starting point is 00:02:39 should be dangerous. That's a quote from season two. That's right. That's a, that's a, euphoria inspired Tara Erickson original. I love that shirt. I love that quote. It's a good one. Yeah. Thank you for hooking it up, T, without further ado. That's all the housekeeping. How are you feeling going into the finale now? I'm going to be honest. This was one of my favorite episodes of the season. This was intense. This was back to the old school euphoria. We got some lens flares in there. Back to the. angst and the ridiculousness and the pacing of what we
Starting point is 00:03:13 were used to in season one really. We're moving very quickly, like very rapidly through destructive behaviors, which is what euphoria is. And we were, and this episode was, wow, it was a lot of fun. The fact that we went from Nate to, like, the snake ease up in there, dude. But the fact that Maddie is now we wanted to see, we called it, we said we want to see more with Maddie and Alamo.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Alamo. And now, unfortunately, Maddie is not in the Bospit's position that I thought she would be in with Alamo. I thought she would be like his ying, like her, you get what I mean. They're yin, yin, y'all. You thought they would have a special, creative,
Starting point is 00:04:05 and business harmony. Where Cassie is. She's back into where all of his women are. She's just a piece of his puzzle, which is unfortunate, but she did it for Cassie. I get it. It's funny that Cassie's yelling down the hole and I'm like, bro. We love you, Dave. They're coming for you.
Starting point is 00:04:23 You know, the one thing that really did, the only thing, honestly, from this episode, it was my favorite of the season, was that Lexi's writing seemed very far from, not super, super far, but far away from who she was. I don't think Lexi is dumb enough to not ask Rue questions when Rue is like sitting down with a Bible and talking about all this weird shit and says DEA that she just whatever. I don't, I didn't like that writing. I get maybe why they're doing it. There is some explanation there. It's not like just out of the blue.
Starting point is 00:05:00 We gave it some explanation that Lexi is like kind of overwhelmed. She's driving for his sister. She's sick of them and be. being like, you guys were all nuts, like what you did to Dylan. I get where she's coming from, but Lexi's a really, really smart character and smart people are curious.
Starting point is 00:05:17 And I'm like, I don't think Lexi would ignore what's going on as much as she has, but that's okay. I've had a lot of fun. This episode was a blast. Yeah, what about you? I would agree. No, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Coming into the end of the season, this was a nail biter in many ways. And, yeah, there were so many stretches and sequences in which I was yeah just kind of fidgety and just sort of like tense and and uncomfortable and this has been a fascinating like
Starting point is 00:05:46 again for whatever has changed they have certainly made like a very splashy colorful very unique season you know the storylines have gone places I was not expecting necessarily and I do think it's it's weird coming out on the other side
Starting point is 00:06:02 I'm like okay so I can maybe see how like especially because people start are rising they might not want to keep doing the show forever so it's like jacob allorty enters that conversation and i'm like yeah maybe he did ask to get written off and uh i found it fascinatingly amusing that yeah like for the past this season has gone from a transition where like okay well nate's in control but he's just a little more chill and then like oh no it seems like he's like he's spiraling out of control and then the second half of the season has been just like we cut to for a minute and he's just getting the shit kicked out of him and then you know we move on from there
Starting point is 00:06:35 so yeah it's weird like it's it's like kind of audacious they don't really fake you out I guess like I was kind of expecting at that point I was like I think he's dead uh me too and it is like an audacious thing to do in a way like part part of me is like I guess they could have kept him around but I don't know I mean I kind of got what I was uh what I was saying all along they didn't cut all of his limbs off unfortunately. They didn't. You thought they were going to make him shorter and so did I once you said it. I thought that he was going to end off the season as just like a torso with a head.
Starting point is 00:07:09 And they're going to keep him alive that way. I thought like if they were truly twisted, that's what they would do. But yeah, to have him die that way is so harsh and intense and nasty and... Narnely. And it's interesting because it's like the Cassie Nate storyline is so, again, over the top and fantastical and garish. It's all kind of, yeah, it's got this opulence about it, and it's a little more broad comedically. But then everything with Nas, especially as we get to this episode,
Starting point is 00:07:39 I guess that makes sense. It's like the stakes start to collide and all this stuff with Nas becomes more real. And that's at the point at which you kind of, you have Alamo colliding with that now, too. It's like all this serious stuff from the Alamo side kind of starts deceiving. And you're like, oh, shit. Yeah. Nate is out of the picture now.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Totally. is under Alamo's thumb in a whole new way. She's indebted to him. That's bad. And on top of that, Cassie is Maddie's money tree and is also now cut loose of Nate and is indebted to Alamo. So I'm like, are they both now in the Alamo mill? They have to be.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Yep. And granted, I don't know who I expect to live through the next episode. I'm like, Alamo could wind up dead. All of the Lori people could wind up dead. This was dense, though. Like to start off with Ali to go from his back to a glimpse into his, you know, using days, the brief appearance from Natasha Leone. Like, it's one of those like leave them wanting moments that I think is like kind of
Starting point is 00:08:40 appropriate where you're like, damn, I could feel so much history between these two. And two actors who are totally different, but very fun to watch in their own right, cool to see them in this context here. And then, yeah, to see both sides of his coin and to see, you know, who he's, he what like you know you see him at home it seems like you see him at three points in time and it's like you see him at home i think post choice to get sober but pre this sort of alley we know now when the whole like domestic violence interlude occurs it seems like he's a little more cleaned up his hair is different but it's still not again fully formed allie demonstrating the road i
Starting point is 00:09:22 suppose right but yeah like just like a harsh but really nuanced stretch really cool to see coleman domingo get you know spotlit again having him come back yeah having that whole debate uh just with him and rue you know it was nice to get him back toward the end of the season i'm like okay if he's not going to be here a ton it's cool to have him back at a moment that feels pivotal or important after the burning bush thing has happened just before this you know season finale show down at the okay corral is about to take place. So yeah, it's like I like the dramatic formation of that. And yeah, the sadness of the sort of like, you know, he's trying to convince
Starting point is 00:10:03 Rue, like there's anything else we can do. We'll go get your mom, you know, I got a 12 gauge for this. Like you can tell that like part of him I bet deep down is sort of accepting of the fact that like, hey, if I, I don't know, like Rue might be in with some bad people and I might not walk away from this and maybe he's prepared for that. I don't know. But yeah. And then her just leaving.
Starting point is 00:10:21 him the sorry note and then the forgive me note and him just you know tossing in the trash going about his day that's how he he rocks he rolls yeah he's like well she's gonna make her own choices man his book is filled it's filled up yeah he's he's met his limit a little bit and he still does a very good job trying still and he's not gonna force yeah he's not gonna force her and he's just gonna continue on his path and so yeah like great moments with him just yeah just great to see him great stuff loved them just talking on the couch and everything um and yeah like as a calm before the storm segue into like the real nasty of the end of the season i thought that was a cool yeah cool unexpected thing to do after getting the whole alamo deep dive last last week yeah last week uh and then yeah roo
Starting point is 00:11:11 like rue sad for her and fay that whole thing at the safe was wacky as hell because like you're like okay, Faye, she's coming around and she's standing up to Nazi boy and she's, you know, at least trying to be like, hey, some of these stuff's fucked up, man, and then they get to the safe and there's no money in the safe and there's this whole like weird lapse in brain space where she's like, there's no money,
Starting point is 00:11:34 you told me the money. And it was like, well, you said there was money. I didn't tell you the money, this is money. But of course, you need some kind of crazy ass cliffhanger like that. So it was weird. It didn't feel out of character completely for Faye, but it is one of those kooky little moments. Yeah. Oh, no, come on.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Because it makes sense for her. She's like, if I'm not going to be able to get money and run, then put everything back so he knows we did nothing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because otherwise, he's going to absolutely know I did help you. So I understood that writing of it, but I still was like, oh, Jesus. Quick question. When was the last time that you actually thought about fiber? I'm not talking about protein.
Starting point is 00:12:09 I'm not talking about calories. I'm talking about fiber. During my cut last year, I was drinking Hewels several times a week because I needed something that was easy. They could keep me consistent as. well and honestly i started viewing fiber like a shield bar in a video game i heard this analogy once because when it's full hunger doesn't hit as hard when it's empty suddenly i'm like going through the the kitchen cabinets and such with filming editing workouts and days where i you know realize i sort forgot to eat huel has become my backup plan for chaos and consistency when it comes to my macro plans
Starting point is 00:12:43 and normally what we have here is the black edition ready to drink because it's a complete meal and a bottle I can grab and go. Coy, drink the last bottle. Thanks, Coy. Now I'll use my own promo to buy more. I'm really happy that I don't have any right now to do in this video. Thanks, Coy. Anyway, what's great about them is they have 35 grams of protein. 7 grams of fiber, 27 essential vitamins and minerals,
Starting point is 00:13:03 no artificial sweeteners, colors, or flavors. It's gluten-free and under $5 per meal. You see, I brought these from home because when I want something more customizable, mix with fruit or certain types of almond milk, I use their black edition powder. They've got 40 grams of protein. Same complete meal benefits.
Starting point is 00:13:20 And I can shake water or blend it with ice, fruit, peanut butter, even. Sometimes with yogurt. There's actually a good amount of fiber in it, too. What do you know? So, with a limited time offer, you can get Huell today with my exclusive offer of 15% off online with my code rejects at huel.com slash rejects. New customers only.
Starting point is 00:13:40 Thank you, Huel, for partnering, supporting real rejects, and for supporting my whole. body, baby. That's totally fair. And she knows that in this situation, no matter what, it's like even if she wants somewhere deep down to believe Rue at this point in the mission, this mission is a fail
Starting point is 00:13:59 and now the only choice I have to protect myself is to go back to the people who I know have the power in the situation. So yeah. And I mean, props to the actors who play those guys like they are so hateable and you know, they're unflattering roles to play. That whole thing where they're sitting in the pool
Starting point is 00:14:14 with the burning pyre. And it's like framed behind her head. To war, they are very hateable. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And they have that whole talk with Rue about, you know, like, oh, you know, why would you even come out here? Like, why would you try and make things right? Like, what do you care? What are you doing?
Starting point is 00:14:31 Yeah. Yeah. And Rue's whole thing about the lies. Like, I really like Zendaya's stuff all throughout this. Performance was great. I agree. Yeah. I wish it was more hard hitting.
Starting point is 00:14:40 Like it was, you know, when we saw some episodes in season two or season one, it still hit me. well, it's just with the overall story arc of where we are in season three, it didn't hit me as hard as it would have been, as it didn't, like, season two or in between one and two, I forget when, like, when Dendea said, I've fucked up at the campfire, and she had tears in her eyes, normally I do remember her, she's very real, you believe her, the context of what happened prior and the other, I would be close to tears because you're really feeling it in this season i'm you know i'm not as close to it but i still feel it not as close and that's a situation too where you're like this is a true thing she's revealing but she's not in
Starting point is 00:15:25 the most truthful place to be so so yeah it's like it doesn't get the full impact of just an emotional moment because it's also got the tension and it's also got the fact that like yeah she's she's just like banged her face up to sell the whole like alamo tried to kill me storyline and and yeah there's And there's just a ton of other stuff going on. There's a ton of things happening. We got a call from Jules and we had to be like, I'm sorry, no plot line this week. You don't get a weird plot line that we all have to sit and debate
Starting point is 00:15:53 about how they're representing your character now. Yeah. Jules is fascinating because I think characters are supposed to be allowed to be messy. I don't quite understand the mess that they have drawn here. There are times where I'm like, yeah, I get you, Jules. And there are other times where I don't quite get what they're trying to do with Jules. I was still waiting to the last episode. I'm waiting to you on that.
Starting point is 00:16:12 I wonder if we'll get some kind of tie around. I agree to God, there's a payoff. Unless they're going to be like, wait till season four to really find out about Jules, I'd be like, why is Jules still in the show? Why would she sign on for season four with what she's got in season three? Unless it skews way more toward her. Well, that's what I mean. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Unless, exactly. Unless you're going to bring it to her, then okay. Yeah. We'll see. Curious there. But yeah, Maddie and freaking cat. That thing resolved quicker than I thought it would. honestly the whole like Maddie, that's a
Starting point is 00:16:44 thing that happens in Hollywood. They would carry that out. Write a couple episodes. Yeah, I agree. They're like the producers. They love your plotline, Lexi, but we just don't want all the shit that comes with hiring an adult model.
Starting point is 00:16:56 So, you know, we're going to have to pass on Cassie. And then, yeah, it's like Cassie gets that one audition. That audition goes well. And she's immediately just like, I've thrown away my whole operation for this. And it can all, like, until you're on set and rolling and the checks are clear. Yeah, you never do that.
Starting point is 00:17:14 Like, it's just why I was yelling at her. So, so, yeah, that all, it's, it's weird. There's been a lot of talking about, like, oh, you know, as Maddie trying to bring her down, is this a truth thing? Does Maddie really just accept her at face value and is using her as a little money tree
Starting point is 00:17:31 as she states here? For sure, half and half. I think she still cares about her, but I think she knows her, yeah, she's going to pay her bills. Yeah, and that scene I got the kind of, better clarity where she's like, I never should let you back into my life, you know, so there is an amount of that.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Feeling. Yeah. That's the feeling there. It's that you, you believe, when someone shows you who they are, believe them. Believe it. Like I, I can see like, okay, yeah.
