Andrew Gordon & John Humphrey react to Dexter Season 4, Episodes 9–12, the shocking and unforgettable conclusion to one of TV’s greatest seasons. Starring Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under, Gamer) as Dexter Morgan, this Showtime classic follows a forensic blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department who moonlights as a serial killer targeting other murderers. Season 4 raises the stakes with the arrival of Arthur Mitchell, aka The Trinity Killer, played by John Lithgow (Third Rock from the Sun, The Crown), in a career-defining, Emmy-winning performance. As Dexter attempts to balance his double life as a husband, father, and killer, his cat-and-mouse relationship with Trinity becomes a masterclass in tension, manipulation, and psychological unraveling. The supporting cast includes Julie Benz (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) as Rita Morgan, Jennifer Carpenter (Limitless, The Exorcism of Emily Rose) as Debra Morgan, James Remar (The Warriors, Django Unchained) as Dexter’s adoptive father Harry, Lauren Vélez (Oz, Ugly Betty) as Captain Maria LaGuerta, and C.S. Lee (Chuck) as the quirky forensic tech Masuka. Iconic and highly searched moments from these episodes include Dexter tracking Trinity through the suburbs, Arthur’s chilling Thanksgiving dinner, the suspenseful rooftop confrontation, and the devastating finale twist that changed TV forever. Blending crime drama, dark humor, and psychological horror, Dexter Season 4’s ending remains one of the most haunting and talked-about moments in modern television. Starting point is 00:01:02 We are here to do the finale. I can't believe it, John's my favorite season. Do we really have to finish this? Can we just pretend like we didn't and just imagine and just stay here? I love season four so much. If it was up to me and we weren't doing this in a structured fashion,
Starting point is 00:01:17 I might not ever finish it. Although I do want to know what happens. It's necessary evil. Yeah, I just, hey, that's, I like that. That was very good, John. Anyways, guys, we were here to do. Season 4 episodes 9, 10, 11, and 12. This is going to be our final block of episodes for season 4.
Starting point is 00:01:36 This has been quite a journey we've been on with the whole thing, of course. But season 4 has been especially crazy, chaotic, amazing, just all different flurries of emotions. But we've been so happy to share with each other and with you guys, of course, the greatest fans in the world. And just as we always do, we like to share how we are feeling. So, Johnald, my bang to my flash. Hey, how are you feeling, buddy? I'm feeling pretty good, Andrew. It's the start of the day.
Starting point is 00:02:07 You know, we got to keep our time. We've got a thick boy ahead of us, but I'm excited to be here in this block with you. I'm not ready to let go of this part of the show because, again, it's so well-reviewed. I can be more excited to sink into this. How are you? We do get to keep our time,
Starting point is 00:02:23 so I'll go a little bit faster. I'm doing okay. Yeah, things are good. I got here a little bit quicker than yesterday, so doing great. I'm excited to watch this. And yeah, full-length reaction where you sync up with your own copy.
Starting point is 00:02:32 It's where you get to watch the show with myself and John Nizio, but we cannot show you any footage, of course, that would be copyright, and we don't want to get copyright issues like we often do, so we will not be doing that, but we'll give you a 3-2-1 countdown.
Starting point is 00:02:44 It's like you're watching when John and I. It's be a great time. So also John and Greg exclusively cover many other TV shows and highlights over there on our Patreon page, and our Patreon is a very lovely community. It's a way to offset and a lot of the monetization issues
Starting point is 00:02:56 that we run into on a day-to-day basis as I just mentioned when it comes to the copyright so any support you give us over there seriously we really appreciates where we call your royal rejects also you can become a righteous reject and get 15% discount on teas like these reject nation shop dot com and yeah also follow us over on our social medias and we're going to get right into this season four episode nine let's get into it john old toy this is when did you when did you get here i am half of a geek check you know, just saying, okay, we share somewhat of the same brain, although don't tell
Starting point is 00:03:29 Koi that, that's an insult, okay? I won't tell me, but he's the smarter one, definitely of the two. I'm the reference one of us, too. So, anyways, season four, episode nine, commencing in three, two, and a one. Hungry. Man.
Starting point is 00:03:54 Yeah, ye. this will do the job. Is he making food again? You into exactly the right size pieces. Yes. Like a hunter watching his prey. I got some interesting Thanksgiving greetings from your coach Davis. Hell, you're not going to play baseball anymore.
Starting point is 00:04:17 I suppose you weren't going to need this. Whoa. Oh, Jesus. Once the turkey's gone, so is Arthur. Damn. How about this one? This one's for most valuable player. That's a nice trophy.
Starting point is 00:04:28 You've become your old dad. The Cole Flur. Oh, snap. Family business. It's my business, too. Damn, so it was all a facade, the perfect father that he was, or the family man. I mean, there's times where he's nice, but there's other times he's not. No, that's a real guy.
Starting point is 00:04:48 That's a real. Oh, shit. God dang. Mr. Butler, what are you doing here? I just up by your house, I saw you arguing with your father. No, I don't argue. And you have no idea what he's like. How he treats my mother and Rebecca.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Ooh, oh. You don't know what he's capable of. Damn. He hits me. Oh, does he? You know, I'm running out of clichés to tell the coaches. Oh. Fell down some stairs.
Starting point is 00:05:18 I walked into a door. The classics. Yeah. I know it looks like we have the perfect fucking family, but in that house, When he's there, it's not a life. It's a tour of duty. Wait till you hear that Dexter saved him from him jumping off a building. He'd kill me if he knew what I was telling me this stuff.
Starting point is 00:05:34 I won't say a word. Hmm. Oh, circle of trust. Yes, Mr. De Niro. Should have just let him die. Whoa. Oh, he does know. Shit.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Where you going? Anywhere away from here. I can't go back. Ooh. So I'll go with you. I'll be there when you tell him. You hit a deer. Why?
Starting point is 00:05:54 You're not the only one with father is. If you came to Thanksgiving, dad would be on his best. Dinner's at one, I can stay a loose house until then. It is a feast, I suppose. I guess I'm having two turkey dinners is sure. Turkey is good with gravy. I used to not like gravy. Now I love it.
Starting point is 00:06:10 The DNA sweep didn't give them Trinity, but it did bring in a cornucopia of criminals. Puniful, good joke. I'm spending Thanksgiving with 90 or so of my newest friends. Look at these victims. The bathtub women, they're always young and single. A first girlfriend, maybe And then the jumper is always a mother of two
Starting point is 00:06:29 Maybe that represents his mom or his wife But I don't think this guy's married She is right on the right track For the most part You used to love Thanksgiving When we were kids You wore the little Indian headdresses Pick the pearl onions out of the green beans
Starting point is 00:06:43 Mom's green beans And then she died And it was you and me and dad and football And TV dinners and aluminum trays No more beans I am lead detective on the biggest case of my career This is where I belong Once we figured out Trinity didn't shoot me
Starting point is 00:06:58 There was no conflict for me Trinity didn't shoot you Yeah While you were at your rain man convention Massa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-hurt together from the bullet's trajectory Ooh, cool Who shot you?
Starting point is 00:07:09 Maybe Trinity knows We got hits on three open cases and one open burglary case But best of all, hits on two homicides Hell yeah Merry Thanksgiving, Soderquist And this one is mine Keep up the good work
Starting point is 00:07:21 Soterquist? I personally like Chris Mika Any news on any other cases? We'll find a who shot you, you know. Focus on what you can control. Yes. Good advice. I guess we'll both be working Thanksgiving.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Yeah, working the case of my love for you. Together. How unfortunate. Eh, guys, no. Dude, Matthews is going to find him. Yes, but no. Yeah. This is a horrible bed you've laid.
Starting point is 00:07:46 Inside the affidavits. Fix those lights, John. They're coming up. There you go. Dude, what kind of pies you guys? Like warm apple pie. Blue. That's big are you?
Starting point is 00:07:58 How big? It's not 25 feet, three tons of them. About tomorrow, the Monroe County PD needs a spatter interpretation on a bar fight. Should just take a few hours. I just need to be gone one to five. Plus, I'll be making triple overtime. Sure, that's a plus. You'll be missing all the fun.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Oh. At least Elliot will be here. She's on the fence. Tell her that this is our first family. Rita should tell her. She can't say no to Rita. Deb. Rather than me tell her all that.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Okay, guys, now look real sad. Ah! Yes. Brilliant to emotional manipulation. I love it. Hi, Aunt Deb. We just heard that you might not come to Thanksgiving dinner. And we really want you to come.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Look sad, Rita. Jeez. Astor. Please come over. Aww. Me. Come on, Deb. What's it all for, if not this?
Starting point is 00:08:59 Big plans tomorrow? It's just another day where people eat turkey. I can eat turkey any day of the year. It's not a very sexy holiday, I suppose. Just remember John Yor, which he eat. Dexter's having people over. He invited me over. See, I like beef jerky.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Sure, sure, sure. I could use a wingman. Yes. Oh. I can promise it'll be any fun. Well, I could be your thigh man. Hey. Go, Masuka.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Oh, it's just a casual Thanksgiving with your girlfriend. Oh, see, that's serious. Really? Serious. Why so serious? Joey, we'll spend it a little. Oh, Joey. If this was what the Joey spinoff was about,
Starting point is 00:09:39 a... She's in the line of fire, that's her article. She is definitely in the line of fire. What you said about traditions shaping our kids, why not going to work will I misshape them? I wish it was out. Otherwise, you'll be home soon, right? Right.
Starting point is 00:09:55 Oh, God, oh no. Please no. God, no. Look at the timing of the Trinity kills. 15 in December, 40 in July, and August. 20 or so in the spring. Jesus. What's the pattern?
Starting point is 00:10:06 Long-haul truck driver. Some kind of salesman. Not bad theories. Vacuum salesman. I thought I'd bring Thanksgiving to you. How sweet. But I'm heading now. Temper's taking the day off.
Starting point is 00:10:20 That I'll be multitasking. Hey. Let's go. I guess you can take the day off, too. Multi-chast. Yeah, I can. Anti-wing, man. About that interview, Deb.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Go get Chinese food. Do you mind if we put off that interview until after the holiday? I'm not here as a reporter. I'm here as Joey's girlfriend. Are you ever anywhere as not a reporter? I'm really sorry about what happened to you. Are they humanizing her?
Starting point is 00:10:48 I hope so. I can't even imagine looking into the eyes of the person you love, watching as he takes his last breath. Wowie. Let's hope you never have to. Is this foreshadowing for her? Crapp, as they are humanizing her.
Starting point is 00:11:01 We are seeing the last of her. Or the last of Quinn, I don't know. One of the two. I would imagine more her, but we'll see. You got Lloyd Paulson to confess? Been waiting 10 years to close this one. I promised the victim's husband I'd find the man who killed his wife. Way to go, Angel.
Starting point is 00:11:15 You should go tell the husband, give him something to be thankful for. As soon as that process has been there. Eh. Do you want to come with? To an next to kin notification? It is a fish of business. Hey, hey. Oh my god, you too. I'm so worried, but you're adorable and I love it.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Happy Thanksgiving. To you too. What a nice surprise. Oh, did you see her that scared hesitation on her face? This is my first Thanksgiving without my family. Oh. Oh, no. Wait, is that the Wonder Woman actress?
Starting point is 00:11:47 No, it is. Linda Carter? Linda Carter? I don't think so. Comment below for wrong. I don't think it is. Where's Dexter? He's at some crime thing in Monroe County. Shit.
Starting point is 00:11:56 Come look at our puzzle. We've already got the corners. I'm sorry, little man, but I've got work to do. Aww. Oh. Yes. Good job, Cody. When do you want to put in the broccoli cheese casserole roll?
Starting point is 00:12:07 About an hour before. The sweet potatoes need an hour and the corn pudding makes about 30 minutes. Oh, corn pudding? It's all gonna fit? No. My fabulous neighbor has not one, but two ovens. Hey. Oh no, they're going over to his house?
Starting point is 00:12:20 Oh, no. I was gonna try to get some meat. That is a very spiffy and smooth-looking wardrobe he's wearing. Arthur seems to be in a decent mood. Maybe I'll be able to slip out early. It's almost one. You want me to set the table? We've got to watch the game first.
Starting point is 00:12:38 It's tradition. Football game, dude. Does kids be joining us? Apparently Jonah has forgotten. I'm sure he's on his way. Oh, that noise. I know. I'm so scared he's going to cut his figure or something.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Not such a decent mood after all. I think Rebecca could come out now. Ew. I'll go get her. Come out of where? She grounded or something? No, nothing like that. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:13:02 These facial expressions are telling a story. Yeah, totally. Tell them. Becky can hear me. Yeah, they still can in the vegetative state, actually. It's what they say. My dad was able to still grab my hand when he was in that state. Oh.
Starting point is 00:13:17 Mr. Haas, I'm the one who told you about your wife. I also promised that I'd find this is pointless Say it No dude do it Knows how much your wife meant to you And he wants you to know That's beautiful team up I want you to know
Starting point is 00:13:32 That we found the guy who killed her Yes I wish we would have found him sooner Really I wish he would have never killed your wife I can't change that But you will face justice now I'll go help mom in the kitchen Oh boy
Starting point is 00:13:46 At least I have one perfect child So it would appear Oh, is that the coffin? Oh! I made that. When I was still confused. Well, that's beautiful. Which is why I haven't torn it apart.
Starting point is 00:14:02 Donate it to the needy. Obviously, I won't be needing it. Now you'll be buried at sea. Yeah. What kind of father keeps a coffin in his garage? What kind of father keeps blood slides in his shed? Hey. Dad, I don't know what happened.
Starting point is 00:14:16 The car is parked in Luke's driveway all night. I came out this morning and someone has just gone all mental on it. Oh boy. That's why God invented car insurance, right? Ooh, that look. Dude, I feel so bad for this kid. Yeah, I do too. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:14:35 What are you doing? What the hell, dude. Now it's drivable so we can get her fixed. Oh. Game's about to start. Shall we? Dude, the way he's able to just flip. a dime on his emotions like that.
Starting point is 00:14:50 Yeah. It's incredible acting. I don't know how you do it. All these kids at home at the same time. Thanksgiving's only four days. You should try keeping them entertained for three months in the summer. Four days. Oh, it's a long weekend. That's when you're really climbing the walls. June, July, August. September, October, November, December. She just figured out a clue. It's the holidays. He's a parent.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Trinity's in the school system. Yeah. Your earlier theory he was single is wrong. Oh, he's a teacher. Trinity could be a janitor. He could be a captain. interior worker of a teacher a principal we gotta get to the station haven't eaten yet grab a drumstick to go hey I love drumsticks and we're gonna need a warrant to access any school databases just gonna love us for tearing him away from his family come up we're not gonna get anywhere today come on Deb so having a girlfriend isn't so bad after all you're with the labels uh-oh
Starting point is 00:15:37 as it matter I just I care about you oh I'm kind of like to have a return damn those tender guitar tones oh Nope, this is not... Wait, what? Oh, oh. Oh. You are so my girlfriend. Hey.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Oh my, okay. See if I can help, Sally. It's very nice of you. Ah, shit. Oh, you could just see, like, feels less protected now that he left. This room's kind of young for a teenager. Yeah. They're trying to keep her childlike and prudent.
Starting point is 00:16:13 What the hell? Is there a lock on the outside, too, or? Oh God Crazy work Jesus Crazy she's a prisoner In her own home You need any help

Starting point is 00:16:59 That's for my windshield. Oh my god. Jonah told me that you're helping him. If you can call it that. You can help me too. Get me out of here. Ugh. You're too young to be on your own.
Starting point is 00:17:12 I don't have to be on my own. Whoa. Yeah. Uh, no. Uh, good, go, go, go, go, go, go. Go, go, go, go, go, go, yeah. If you're nice to me, I can be nice to you, do anything you want. I didn't want to assume that this conservative, you know, this.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Rebecca, you're 15. I don't want anything from you. Yeah. I don't believe you. Oh. I know what guy's like. Oh. Rebecca, go inside.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Ugh. I am so sorry about Rebecca's behavior. Just please don't say anything to Arthur. Wow, dude. Whatever you did. with Rebecca I didn't know whatever you're going to do I don't care don't tell him I wouldn't wow the fear in this woman's face and eyes too yeah I was like I didn't want to just jump to that but like this this very religious and they're keeping her yeah in this super young room

Starting point is 00:25:09 Holy shit. God! Hi, Dad! Wait, what? What? What? No! What?
Starting point is 00:25:20 Dude. Epic. Epic reveal. Hi, dad? Holy crap. I don't even know what to say to that. Holy crapparino, gang. Well, I guess we know who shot...
Starting point is 00:25:35 I guess we know who shot Lundy now and shot Deborah. And sure seems like it. Oh, my God. No. No, we'll wait to see how this plays. out at true you never know that could be misleading us I still I don't know oh my god
Starting point is 00:25:52 alright that was episode 9 of season 4 I'm up in episode 10 but I think we should get right into episode 10 because we're on a time frame here so we live in a time frame get right into it in a three two and one
Starting point is 00:26:11 lost so Joel Schumacher directed this episode. Definitely, here we go. I still got to see that movie. I've never seen it. Oh. So, how's everyone doing over there? Aww, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, you okay?
Starting point is 00:26:26 I'm not the one getting four booster shots. Now, you're not a complete wreck. Serial killer, remember? Yeah. How do you... You won't remember any of this. Aw. She just started staying in Star Spangled Banner or something.
Starting point is 00:26:43 Keeping my tools in a shipping container, more sense than a backyard shed. Yeah. It's where my dark passenger was born. Yeah. It does make sense. The perilous Keith Gordon. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:54 And after tonight it's where Arthur Mitchell will call home. We've got to get on Christine, John. We're in a spooky season. Oh boy. What? Oh. Scott, hold your sister's hand until we're inside. You're not my mother.
Starting point is 00:27:14 Oh. Is that gonna... Nick, Barb, Scott. Abby. Not my mom. That was a very prominent, like, ADR there. Is he gonna mess up his ritual, pick the wrong mom? Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:27:33 Man's is a lurking. Oh, nice. Very nice, pan. Primal rage. That man is playing Gallagher. Yeah. Probably didn't notice, but we did. That man is playing Gallagher.
Starting point is 00:27:46 Thought we wouldn't notice. But we did. I'm not the only one on a stalk. But it's too soon, Arthur just finished his last kill cycle. By saving his life, have I set it all in motion again? What are we doing? What are we doing? Shit. Where'd you go?
Starting point is 00:28:04 Where'd you go? I miss you so. It almost looks like James Bond. I know it's not. Oh, yeah, it's a knockoff James Bond. I'm Officer Carney. Officer Carney. Kearney. This is like if the T-1000 caught up to John Connor in the arcade.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Are your mom and dad, Nick and Barb? Yes. I'm afraid they've been in a car accident. They've asked me to take you to go see him in the hospital. Ugh. No, no, no, no, no. My partner's got Abby in our patrol car. Creepy.
Starting point is 00:28:34 Where's my sister? Let me radio in and see where my partner is. Oh, Dexter. Christ the Lord. Arthur! Bro. Bro. Not from there. Not from where you can't catch him. I don't appreciate being followed.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Arthur, what are you doing? Preserve this boy's innocence. I'm calling the police. Just see a police car. The boy pays the price. Euse. Pull over. Tell me where you are. I have a process. As long as it's not interrupted. I'll set the boy free. Arthur, don't do this. Let the boy go.
Starting point is 00:29:04 This involves kidnapping too? Let the boy go, Arthur. It's never taken a child before. That you know of. Yeah. This is new. Oh, that is a bad bar. We talked about this in the review if he would have just let him fall when he tried to jump off the building.
Starting point is 00:29:21 How many lives are going to pay the price? Any idea where your father is? He said some teaching thing up in Naples. My Thanksgiving never happened. Except for this. Why are you still here? Yeah, dude. I can't leave my mom and sister alone with him.
Starting point is 00:29:34 I get that. Did he hurt someone else? I hope not. That's why I need to find him to keep him from doing something really wrong. More are really wrong You have the chance to finally break the cycle What do you want me to do? Yeah
Starting point is 00:29:48 Go through his desk Find out what he's been working on He'll kill me I'll make sure he never finds out It's my mom and Rebecca There's a great big shit ugly world Out there Jonah Oh boy
Starting point is 00:29:58 The bad stuff doesn't just end At your doorstep You can help put an end The sins of your father Ooh Really do a great job Adding tension this season What is this place?
Starting point is 00:30:10 You like trains are there? My name isn't Arthur, Scott. Whoa, creepy. Is he recreating what his father treated him? Yeah, he's like trying to play what version of his father he wished there was. Or like replaying, recreating a positive memory with him. I want my mom and dad. Not with these Dutch angles.
Starting point is 00:30:31 I'm gonna say with the Dutch angles, maybe Schumacher really did direct the episode. Rest in peace, by the way. If Arthur's ritual like mine was born in the past, the past is where I'll find him. Dude, he said Harry's little fold-up Thanksgiving table. Remember, John, the past will bite you in the ass. His last cycle of kills took place in New Orleans. Matthew Hicks, 10 years old, went to the local pool, never came home. Jesus.
Starting point is 00:30:54 Five days before a woman was found murdered in her bathtub. Ooh. You always did have a soft spot for kids. They remind you of what you lost that day in the shipping container. His innocence. Yep. Arthur said that's what he would preserve in the boy he took. If each of Arthur's victims represents members of his family.
Starting point is 00:31:11 Yeah. And the boy must be Arthur himself. Yeah. He was 10 when his sister died. Omaha, another 10-year-old goes missing. Five days later, another bathtub murder. We're figuring the pattern. Lundy must read the pattern.
Starting point is 00:31:26 It's not three victims. Wow. It's four. Jesus Christ. Lundy didn't think to look at missing children because they were never recorded his homicide. Yeah, they were just recorded as missing. Another 10-year-old went missing. Jesus.
Starting point is 00:31:40 Oh, my God, the boys begin the cycle. Jesus, so he just started the cycle. Crazy. You got to find this kid right now. Yeah. I ding the parked van last night. I left a note, but the driver hasn't called me back. Find this guy, pay him in cash.
Starting point is 00:31:54 Just give me the plate. Give you heads up on its location. Heads up seven up? Yes, right. We were just talking about that off camera. I saw something at Thanksgiving. I wish I hadn't. Morgan.
Starting point is 00:32:05 Gordon. Good last names. I've got that interview with Quincy. squeeze today. Sure it's a good idea to drag up all that Lundy stuff. Stay away. Trinity works from the public school system. Can't get the okay to swab these guys.
Starting point is 00:32:18 If he's even in the school system. Sorry, Deb, the sooner this is over, the sooner I get to that missing boy's parents. Dude, Harry's waiting. Dex, you got a minute. It's my Thanksgiving. Later, Vince. Oh, buddy. When I'm done, everyone in Miami's gonna know what a true hero is.
Starting point is 00:32:33 Law. Don't forget your partner. That's Quinn with two ends. Oh, shit. I forgot to run something by Batiste. Will you show her to the box? I'll be there in two seconds. God, they did such a good job hiding her this season
Starting point is 00:32:42 is this ambitious woman who will do anything. I need you to watch Christine interview me. This could have something to do with the Lundy shooting. Oh, boy. Oh, no. Why don't you put your pajamas on and we'll have something to eat? No cowboys. I won't do anything you told me to.
Starting point is 00:33:00 Oh, my goodness, no. I guarantee you, John Lithgow probably made this kid feel very comfortable and, like, reassured him. It's just, I've got to be creepy for this. scenes father drinks and mother pays the price I'm just trying to protect you Arthur my name is Scott oh this can't be the first time a kids responded this well oh god it's just a bunker just want to do anything I can to help find your missing son we haven't set up phone banks yet but we have some
Starting point is 00:33:29 flyers I take some with me oh boy oh boy I'm the only one here I could point the police in Arthur Mitchell's direction but the slightest step on their part ensures this family is never whole again yeah how does a guy like this make a dead body just disappear into thin air a Gulf stream does a trick for me hey oh's an home home Des Moines St. Paul or Denver yep four walls houses you guys to each one of those cities on a build is a pretext for his killing cycle oh would be a convenient place to bury a body or to hold a boy captive
Starting point is 00:34:04 course it's under construction say nearby three years on patrol two years in vice why homicide my dad was a detective here dude flip it around start asking her questions do you see these
Starting point is 00:34:17 oh forensically we're at a dead end with a lundy case so I just stare at these looking for answers dude this facade that she puts on it's such it's so crazy
Starting point is 00:34:32 I've got enough background info I just write this up and give me a call Uh-huh. You live over in the Gables, right? Yeah. That must be really nice being away from all that touristy stuff.
Starting point is 00:34:43 Found a great building. So the Gables, that's what, like 60 minutes from the hotel where Frank was staying? I guess. You sure got to the crime scene fast. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. There's no traffic at 5 a.m. But dispatch didn't put off the call till 505. Yes.
Starting point is 00:35:01 You were the first reporter on scene at 520. How did you get there so fast? I like to roll out of bed and hit the gym or... of bed and hit the gym early. I was on my way there when I heard the scanner. She's lying. Of course she is. I mean it was a good try to cover, but she is full of shit. I spoke to Christine at your crime scene. Hair made, full makeup. No way she rolled out of bed at 5 a.m. looking like that. I'm telling you she knows more than she's letting on. Pshu! Pichu! Crime scene reporter and she couldn't even fucking look at those photos of Lundee.
Starting point is 00:35:27 Suspicious, but it doesn't prove a thing. Exactly. You got no evidence. Fuck does she know he didn't die instantly. Leguaredi got for hours to the school district to let us collect samples. I'm still working on Dade. Great. Let's go. Bill's nearly finished. No one's here.
Starting point is 00:35:42 Ego ambush you. Come on, Dexter, you got this. Kyle, I went through my dad's desk. There's nothing here. No second construction site? Hardware store. Real estate agency. Real estate agency.
Starting point is 00:35:58 It's just a bunch of homes for sale. I can email you the list if you want. fax him to the king goes near your house under my name. I'll pick them up there. Oh, Christ. Oh, no, Cody? Oh, no. Let go. Cody!
Starting point is 00:36:15 Cody! He said he saw Dexterly, the young sailors came from the middle of the night because he was scared. Ah, shit! No! My son said that's what he saw. I believe him. Oh, no, no. God, no! I knew that would come back somehow. Dad, I really need to see you. You just did. Thanksgiving night. Ugh.
Starting point is 00:36:37 We meet in between our usual visits. Whoa. There's a reason why we only see each other couple of times a year, Christine. I have a full life and a family who needs me. Uh. I'm your family too. I need you. Woof.
Starting point is 00:36:51 I think I'm in trouble. Damn, dude. This is so twisted. Don't make me feel for her. Have food for me? You're gonna have something to eat. When you put on the pajamas. Once you put your pajamas.
Starting point is 00:37:05 You put your pajamas on, Arthur. Mmm. Oh, he's just torturing this kid. He can break in front of him when he knows he's starving. This is delicious. Ah. Most diabolical torture yet. Yeah, a certain point.
Starting point is 00:37:20 Yeah. Yeah. He doesn't seem like a pervert. Well, in this context, so... The baby has a fever. Oh. How long do you think you're going to be? Not very.
Starting point is 00:37:31 There's still another house I can check on the way home. Uh. No Dude Remember how tired he was in the first episode or two? I could see it his eyes are getting heavy Yeah, he's all working overtime Uh
Starting point is 00:37:45 Shark passenger time Shit But it looked like there was a friggin Scott Nope Scott Smith Is that Dexter, young Dexter? It's just people squatting I think
Starting point is 00:38:02 I mean my kids got nowhere else to I thought he was, like, seeing a... I thought he was seeing, like, trauma past. Oh, no. You ain't got to tell. No, I won't. I thought he was having one of those visions of himself in the past. No, I get you.
Starting point is 00:38:17 They want to take the kids to Disney World weekend. You sure that's a good idea? I've never even met them. They're nothing like Paul. He was the abuse of black sheep of the family. Interesting. What happened to his eye? One of the young sailors said you disappeared the night of the camping trip. Cody was defending your honor.
Starting point is 00:38:34 Oh, Cody. The only time I left my tent that night was to... Go to the bathroom? Hey. Cody doesn't want to be part of the group anymore. He doesn't want to be around somebody who tells lives. Oh, shit. I solemnly swear, I will not tell a lie.
Starting point is 00:38:47 100.1. Geez. Am I giving him a sponge bath, cool him off? What's 100.1 on the FM band here? If Christine was covering for a sauce that knew something about this. How tall is Christine? Yeah, get Missouca in here so we can measure. Couldn't even look quite in the eye.
Starting point is 00:39:03 We're going to figure this out. Just gotta think outside the box. Outside the bun. How's this for outside the box? Christine's the same height as the shooter. E. Christine shoots Lundy. Why?
Starting point is 00:39:15 That's the mystery. We get her DNA. We check it against a database. I think we can get Quinn to get her DNA. He's got plenty of it all over him. We don't have enough to get a warrant. Think outside the box, Sergeant. Quinn!
Starting point is 00:39:27 Quinn! I killed an innocent man when I left the campsite that night. Cody had been drawn into defending a lie. Trinity's not the only one using his family as human shields. Yeah. No way, Christina, anything to do with shooting you or London. You've been dating her for what? Two months, how old do you even fucking know her?
Starting point is 00:39:44 What is this a Morgan vendetta against me? Is your asshole brother behind this? What the fuck with my brother have anything to do with this? Forget it. Oh, he almost said it. Who else knows about this? Angel. Batista.
Starting point is 00:39:59 Make me look like a fucking asshole. Don't make this about you. Oh, dude. Should you keep a toothbrush here? Christine will never know about this. And when the results come back clean, you can shove this up my ass anytime you want. Any time.
Starting point is 00:40:12 I need you to get a DNA panel on this ASAP. Oh, he's going to explode. I'll owe you one, all right? Who's a blonde? We may have a big fucking lead on a Lundy case and just fucking run it. Oh, Deborah. Yeah. You really feel her emotion when she lets it out.
Starting point is 00:40:29 Dexter, where the hell are you? On route. Traffic. Okay, well, the DA's all over. me about that blood report I'll have it on your desk in half an hour God, everything is getting in the way of dark passenger duty
Starting point is 00:40:39 Yeah, how does he find time to actually do his actual work? Christmas is coming up, any plans? Aw. Is she supposed to be with her dad, right? We're not that close. Tell me about your family. You okay?
Starting point is 00:40:54 Yeah. He's very acting like cuss towards her. Are you sure? Now's not a good time. Wow. Well, maybe it is a good time for me. You ever consider that?
Starting point is 00:41:06 Oh, yeah. She's getting rejected by everyone. Dad, Quinn. This is about your partner, isn't it? She says something to you? About what? Give a shitty interview. I'm ditching the article.
Starting point is 00:41:16 So you think she's best about that. I don't know. I can't wait. I need to see you now. We might be in trouble. We have to talk about... Oh, my God. Oh.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Oh my God. When I was little. Oh my God. Please call me back. Oh my God. This is so twisted. Oh, my God. It's just stupid. You should take me home.
Starting point is 00:41:39 I'm going to see my mom and dad. Yeah. Jesus. Why are you so sad? It was Vera's favorite song. Oh. She was my sister. Oh.
Starting point is 00:41:52 What happened to her? She died. Did she really die? It wasn't my fault. It wasn't my fault. Oh. I'm sorry, Bay. Oh
Starting point is 00:42:05 If it'll make you feel any better You can call me Arthur Hey You're a good-hearted kid Nice kid Scott I'll play drinks a little bit more And then you can take me home Duh
Starting point is 00:42:17 Do you like ice cream I scream for it That's about a boy size freezer Don't like that Ah no No Come on man Oh wait wait
Starting point is 00:42:31 Are you gonna like knock them out out and take them home. Finished your treat. I think it's time to let you go free. Uh. Cancelling the ritual? Yeah, I'm calling about the house on Olive.
Starting point is 00:42:43 I need to know, is a house occupied? Oh, the current owners are still living there. He's going to save him a trip. Blood report on the barstabbing. Just got word on that stake in notify. We found your van about 20 minutes ago. Whoa. He's at a diner on Flagler on 4th.
Starting point is 00:42:56 Hope you find your guy. All right, what's the closest house to that diner, right? If Arthur's van was spotted close to where he has the boy, that shit. Nero my search down considerably. E. Debra Morgan. Oh, is this... The CI?
Starting point is 00:43:10 Ugh. Oh, no. Dude, this is so insane. Everything that's going on. I'm sorry. I said those things about your father. You don't me for another CI and all this time it's still hurt. Oh, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:43:25 No. No. No. She'd remember me, God. I was completely out of my mind. Went to her house. I have to go. We'll call you.
Starting point is 00:43:34 Everyone's trying to disperse information. Oh, I gotta go. The DNA results on Christine Hillaback. She's fucking related to Trinity. Whoa. Ahah ha ha ha ha. Christ the Lord. Oh man.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Risky squatching through the yard like this. Ugh. Bomb shelter. Bomb shelter. That's a cool location, too. location too, damn. Oh, I think he's too late. Shit!
Starting point is 00:44:08 Yeah, they're already gone. Ah! 1960s Miami, Cuban Missile Crisis. Hey. Iron years, places like this were built to keep people safe. I hate on me. Yep. The ironing is delicious.
Starting point is 00:44:20 I saw you that night. Back when I was five. He told me to stay in the car, but I didn't. So I got out and I went to that woman's house. And I saw you in the bathtub with her? Ooh. Oh. Oh.
Starting point is 00:44:32 It was a dream. It wasn't when it happened again in the same house. 30 years later. Yeah. Yeah, I was going to say, she's been following this case. What if it was Harrison or Cody? Your priorities have changed. Yeah, it's good.
Starting point is 00:44:48 Fatherhood. I'm a father now. Yeah. Daddy Decks. I went back and I looked through the postcards you sent me. Every trip you took. And a woman died in a bathtub. I protected you.
Starting point is 00:45:00 An FBI agent. Oh. I followed Lindy, and I saw you run into him, and he started putting things together, and he was never gonna stop. So I shot. Whoa! I made it look like another crime spree. The vacation murders, the police had no idea. I still don't have anything solid.
Starting point is 00:45:21 You let them to me! They're starting to ask questions. Yeah, buddy, oh. She just wants your approval that bad. I protected you, aren't I a good girl? Don't you love me? Yeah, she wants, she's seeking validation so badly. Uh-huh. In approval.
Starting point is 00:45:35 You put yourself at risk. I'm still seeking that from you, John. For me. One day. I do anything for you. Oh. You've always been so special to me. Doesn't feel like it.
Starting point is 00:45:47 I can't. Is he about to, I can't tell what it's about to happen right now. I'll drop by tonight. We'll figure all of this out. Who is your mama and where is you? Who is your daddy and what does he do? How does you, you got a whole other family? that little kiss he just blew her like yeah wow do you think he's gonna kill her later
Starting point is 00:46:09 tonight probably for the insubordination and incompetence yeah collect a sample he's doing a little bit of chemistry no wonder none of those missing boys has ever been found case of body and cement it's preserved forever oh wow that is Demented and twisted. You're already there? Yeah. Arthur wasn't ready then. He is ready now.
Starting point is 00:46:37 So back at the construction site? He's gonna, yeah, he's gonna bury him in there. Oh my god! Does he bury him alive? Burry him alive and sedated? Oh my god! No closer. I'll take that to mean the boy is still alive.
Starting point is 00:46:52 Walk away, Kyle. This doesn't concern you. There's no way I can do that. Oh, I love the dark passenger voice and luck. Oh no! Save him! Woo! He's gonna have to let him go to save him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Yeah! Get him, get him! Shit! I can't stop this. Oh no. Once you pop, the fun must stop. Oh! Oh!
Starting point is 00:47:22 Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, get him out, quick, get him out. Oh, my God. Yeah, that's heavy as shit, too. Yeah. Oh. Alive. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:44 He's on his way to pay Christine Hill a visit. Daddy. Oh, okay. You are under arrest. Betrayal. Is Arthur going to see this? Is they're going to the cops? Do you hear that?
Starting point is 00:48:01 Harrison's asleep. All the children are asleep. It's time for us. Let's get it on. Let's get it on. Ah, we spoke too soon. I'm sorry you're in pain. Buddy. No one's ever gonna hurt you again, especially me.

Starting point is 00:50:11 Hello. Hello, Dexter, Morgan. We all have our public life, our private life, and your secret life. He knows about my secret life. Haunted houses. I do. I do. You live there. Your father seems to be unknown.
Starting point is 00:50:27 Why is that? My mother got pregnant. I never met my father. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. I think you're lying. So do I. I think Christine has her own secret life.
Starting point is 00:50:39 Good instincts. She's got to be Arthur's daughter. Yes. Dude, it's my favorite when he does the dark passenger voice. Give us the name. She says the name Arthur Mitchell. Netsionwide. Ugh.
Starting point is 00:50:50 Duh. Nationwide, not on your side. name woof I've never seen Angel get I've seen him get intense but that is on another level of intense if I can make the police think the Trinity killer is someone else Arthur's all mine oh my god what how how are you gonna do that although police have no leads as to who abducted the boy or how he came to be returned oh thank goodness Interesting. Ah, great transition, yes.
Starting point is 00:51:22 I love that. With all the DNA samples from my sister's sweep, there should be one bad guy I can cast in the role of Trinity, but I'm striking out. Damn, dude. That's a good hamburger reference. What if you just let Deb take him down? What kind of man witnesses a child deduction and doesn't call the police? What is it you want? I want you.
Starting point is 00:51:42 I want $50,000. dollars or I'll tell the whole world that Arthur Mitchell is a pedophile and most certainly not a pedophile oh using his religion gets him take a loan out on your house sell your car I really don't care oh he is a teacher today that's not possible yeah we've seen it at the school he's so many things I lose track no no it's fair enough for sure and we only saw it to be fair to you we only saw it like once really quick I'll uh I'll be in touch oh no Kyle Butler oh no no
Starting point is 00:52:14 He's pulling the Terminator looking up Sarah Connor thing. I know that's not a reference. I'm just making a joke, guys. Don't worry. No, all phone books are Terminator. It's all Terminator, I know. You can only hold me for 48 hours. If you want, no rest.
Starting point is 00:52:26 But we're holding you as a material witness. So you can keep me as long as you want. So you better start talking, bitch. Yeah. You live here now. She says she doesn't know anything. Wow, you're still on her side. I know this sucks for you, but she's in there because she's involved.
Starting point is 00:52:40 So get your fucking head on straight. We don't have any proof. DNA, Trinity, dude, are you serious? She planted the story, bro. She got to the crime scene at 520. Come on, bro. She said anything yet? She won't. Let's hope not.
Starting point is 00:52:54 For Quinn's sake. Fuck you. And you. And you. Keep me posting. Well, where are you going, a half day? Half day. Lunch with Rita, my wife.
Starting point is 00:53:05 Cheo. I'm sorry. Where is it you really go every day? I'm turning into dokes. One came through on Christine Hill's apartment. Let's get a team over there. Alright with you. No, absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:53:15 You're not switching your own girlfriend's apartment. Take Latista. Yeah. I want to wait first. I want both of you. Did he have a private detective? Shit! I was waiting for this.
Starting point is 00:53:27 I'm so, I'm so annoyed. They sent this up to me for a whole other reason. Half hour before the security cameras recorded this. I hate this. Oh no! I knew it. God damn it. it that could be anyone your board of review hearing is the day after tomorrow I
Starting point is 00:53:46 suggest you call your union reps and start looking into career alternatives oh wow this isn't the first time that you have squared off so what exactly is your beef with me my gender my race yeah what your arrogance this sucks because they're such good cops too oh man we're arrogance oh Lundy's Trinity books. Lundy ran down lots of suspects over the years who look like there might be trinity. Oh, that guy. It almost looked like Ed O'Neill, a little.
Starting point is 00:54:15 Stan Boutree. Arrested, for killing a prostitute with a crowbar left around the side of the highway. That's a good candidate. Oh, he had a crowbar, right? Remember? Uh-oh. What the f f... Huh? You ain't going anywhere, man.
Starting point is 00:54:31 Alright, I got your license plate number. I'm gonna call the cops. Uh-oh. Oh no. That was a daunting transition. Uh, can it wait? I'm kind of it yet and I'll be there. Let me guess, crime scene. Like, Dexter, we have an appointment.
Starting point is 00:54:49 I know, but it's an emergency. So is this. Why? Oh, shit, no. We're doing better. I'm being all open and... I kissed Elliot. Oh!
Starting point is 00:54:59 Oh shit! What? I think Elliot kissed you, but... Yeah. No, I told you, I can't. Dexter, please. I gotta get to work. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:55:11 This is rough, dude. Oh, I feel so bad. Oh, no, we bludgeoned him. Somebody smashed his head against the floor. I saw Rita kissing another dude at Thanksgiving, okay? Oh. I know, she told me. Oh, thank Christ.
Starting point is 00:55:25 Oh, he's a good guy, though. Let's tell him the truth. What's his name? Kyle Butler. Oh, shit. Oh, he went to take out a couple of Kyle Butler. Oh, that's why he went to that house. That makes sense. So he looked in the phone book. Careful next time he choose an alias. Shit.
Starting point is 00:55:41 Shoes. Shoes. Shoes. Not shoes. Pictures. Oh, is the cards? Oh. The cards. The Moines. Denver. San Francisco. The letters, I mean. Is it all the crime scenes? Love daddy. Trinity is. Christine's fucking father. She's been in contact with them the whole time. I would check her phone record, see who she was calling, no? Oh, no. Keith Gordon! Hey. We got Keith Gordon, the director.
Starting point is 00:56:08 Hey, funny. Oh, don't. He's your director. You can't do that. By the way, Keith Gordon, one of my favorite movies of all time back to school. Go check out that comedy. I told Johnny needs to react to it.
Starting point is 00:56:20 Arthur will come here next, and I'll be waiting. Kyle Butler will be sleeping like a baby. None of the wiser. Someone should put out a vinyl pressing of the themes from the show. Oh, get him. Get him, get him. Oh, please, please walk inside It's over
Starting point is 00:56:37 Oh, don't leave, please don't leave God What the fuck Uh With Trinity killings in every single one of these cities Just to see them laid out like that Wish you were here Love Daddy

Starting point is 00:57:07 I don't know who my father is He is the Trinity killer And he's been sending you Postcards from hell Hey like Jack the Ripper You've been drafting on us And when you heard Lundy Was on to your father
Starting point is 00:57:21 You shot him Mmm Ooh Being a protective daughter Psychotically protective daughter I want to talk to my lawyer She lied. Fuck, yeah, she lied.
Starting point is 00:57:32 Just a fucking admit it. You shot me and you killed Lundy. Fucking used me. Uh, yeah, John and I've been saying that for like 10 episodes now. She's really hot, to be fair, man. I'm a fucking asshole. Don't do that. What?
Starting point is 00:57:46 Get yourself up like that. Why the fuck not? I've been there, boy. Because I know where it gets here. I was engaged to the ice truck killer. Yes, you are. Good old biny. Drain their blood, wrapped them up like bloody fucking Christmas.
Starting point is 00:57:58 We can play Who's a bigger asshole But I guarantee you That was very sweet We'll keep in Christine Over there again Good Let her fucking rot
Starting point is 00:58:10 Quinn has been a very fun character To watch I mean look we miss You can't replace dogs But like Surprise Hey No I agree with you
Starting point is 00:58:20 I'm actually really enjoying Quinn He's still like He's a very flawed But complex character He takes the shortcuts But there's still a humanity to him. Where are you, Mr. Bodry?
Starting point is 00:58:32 Doing a big old spooky crime. Making a delivery in Jacksonville due back late tomorrow. Or if I leave now, I can be in Jacksonville by midnight and cut the time and him in half. Stan the man is in a van because he ran. The time and him
Starting point is 00:58:47 in half. I can't sleep. I stayed up so we could finish our talk. Can't wait? I have a huge day tomorrow. Can our talk about me kissing another man wait? the two of you. No, of course not.
Starting point is 00:59:00 It was just a huge mistake. Apology accepted. Oh, okay. Shouldn't we talk about this? I thought we just did. Oh, boy. You didn't even say how you felt about it. Putting it behind me, isn't that what I'm supposed to do?
Starting point is 00:59:14 But if I were you, I would be hurt, angry. Really pissed off. Is that how you want me to feel? No. I know, but you want him to show some emotion that he cares about the situation. And he's not doing that. It's like that's okay. I forgive you. I need you at the station Kind of right in the middle of doing some stuff any chance Missouka can cover for me? No chance at all Be here be here. Oh man angel's not playing

That's crazy. Well, these are the kind of life sentences I like to hand out. Angel, you may kiss your bride. Oh!
Starting point is 01:01:06 Excuse me, Dax. Two seasons ending on a marriage. Does marriage help the situation? I would assume that's why they rushed this. You two just get married? And this still's spinning chair. You get your first to congratulate us. Mazel Tov.
Starting point is 01:01:24 Hey, Le Chaim! Arthur, I'm standing in front of your house, Kyle. What? I call the four walls office for your home address. It seems to be Johnny's jet skis. They're fun, you should try one. They are. Give me until tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:01:41 How do I know I can trust you? I guess that's just the world we live in, Kyle. Oh, a godless world. Stand the man. It's been a while since we've seen one of these. Yeah, I heard. Yeah, I heard. You'll be sorry that you ever crossed me!
Starting point is 01:02:08 Oh! Wow, that blood spray was crazy. Woo! I just need to make sure the police find author's DNA. I think Stan the man ran into a fan. fan When they see this picture of Christine, they'll think she's Bojri's daughter.
Starting point is 01:02:28 Will she have to identify that body or something? I'm sorry, I haven't returned your phone. I've been. I know where you've been. Don't call me anymore, you understand? Daddy, I just... Oh, that sucks. But also, I'm not mad about it.
Starting point is 01:02:44 Savage. It's slightly unbelievable that Bodry would even own it to the rush, but I'm gonna go for it. And now the final piece of the puzzle. A big wrench. Ah, the hammer. Nice.
Starting point is 01:02:58 Oh, is the hammer? Oh, Elliot. Jesus. Love thy neighbor. Hey. Love thy neighbor. Blah, huh? I don't like these handheld shots and these through the window. Go inside.
Starting point is 01:03:11 Watch the history channel. I'm not going to, because I care about my wife and I'm human. What are we doing, Dax? Punch him! I stay the hell away from my wife. Oh, Jesus Dex Oh, bro
Starting point is 01:03:24 No, no, wait I know I'm an asshole But just wait a minute Reed is amazing You think I don't know that And I'm an idiot And if I were you I would want to kill me too
Starting point is 01:03:32 Aw Don't never touch her again That's how You did the situation What a scene Although violence is not always the answer But that was a very Understandable reaction
Starting point is 01:03:44 Nice job Dex I saw I saw That was awesome Yeah, I'm talking about that in therapy now You're not mad Like my man cares about me What are you?
Starting point is 01:03:57 He fought for me Yeah You told him to keep your wife's name out of his In mouth You know what she should have put on his hand peas I can't believe you hit him now I didn't see that coming I didn't either
Starting point is 01:04:08 Aww Yeah that was the whole thing with the conversation That they had earlier It's like do you even care We're married As a man and wife I don't see how that changes the facts of the matter Do you any want to go in front of the border review
Starting point is 01:04:23 And attack the sacrament of holy macho money It's also worth noting that the chief of police Met his now wife on the job as well I hope that your life together will not be as empty And as amoral as your decision to get married was I'm very curious about you, man I cannot tell with that guy We just got to lead on a trinity killer
Starting point is 01:04:45 Is it Stan Boudry, John? Well, hello, Mr. Toothbrush. That's so smart to plan... That's so smart to plan Arthur's stuff there because it ties her to the DNA. It's a little hard to believe this is the same guy that never made a mistake in 30 years. Oh, I'm sure he made mistakes.
Starting point is 01:05:05 We just weren't looking. Good cover. At this point, we're trying to locate Mr. Stan Baudry. He's become our number one suspect. Stan Boudry. What a fascinating reaction. She's like, what the hell? I was protecting you.
Starting point is 01:05:21 You've ruined everything. I did it because I love you. Oh, oh no. She's so tragic. Yeah. Meet me. Please. I can get past the cops.
Starting point is 01:05:33 I don't care. It's not my problem. Wow. You did this to yourself. You're on your own. How could you say that? What a guy. I'm sorry you were ever born.
Starting point is 01:05:43 Oh. Oh. Do not call me again, ever. Ever. That's a tragic reaction. Even though we don't like her as if... We just got word that Christine Hill would like to speak with you. Only you.
Starting point is 01:06:02 Ah shit. It hasn't been easy, but I was able to pull together the funds you're demanding Kyle. Oh, is that the same place? Oh my God. Where he took Scott. The Palmetto Marina on the Miami River, leave it at the entrance to Dock C, and make it 8 o'clock. Hey. I'll see you, Whitney. I'll see you in 15 minutes. Because I know exactly where that music is coming from and why you're there.
Starting point is 01:06:28 Problem is, Christine's about to confess. Do you? Stan Bojury. He's a killer. He is. He is. He made his own choices. And I'm just like him.
Starting point is 01:06:40 Oh. Your dad was a cop. so you said hey I'll be a cop too Maybe then he'll love me My dad's a killer so I'll be a killer too Then he'll love me What last summer

Starting point is 01:07:20 Oh, fuck you. Oh. Let's just get to the station. Wait, no, don't, don't. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Whoa. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:07:40 She just wanted the weight lifted before she left. Trinity's daughter just confessed everything and then killed herself in front of me I'm in one piece Jesus I could really use some family right about now or Dexter Morgan serial killer
Starting point is 01:07:58 Or Dexter Morgan brother Yes I'm on my way Damn Oh no No No I need to be a good brother now
Starting point is 01:08:11 So that I can be a good serial killer later Shit Oh boy Kyle Butler Butler working here Sure sorry there's no one by that name my mistake yeah Is that career pamphlet
Starting point is 01:08:32 Oh nice move I'm afraid to erase this name No Lundy Like a yeah like a symbolic Because then this is all over I guess it is And Frank's still dead
Starting point is 01:08:47 I'm not stupid No I knew finding his killer Wouldn't bring him back But you want to feel some kind of weight lifted Yeah I thought it would bring something Damn dude
Starting point is 01:09:03 No Yeah I've got it Oh Yeah Yeah, it should be you. Wow. Damn, he is really working himself into the homicide department.
Starting point is 01:09:25 What the hell is he going to do? I mean, there's nothing Dexter can do to him here in public, right? Of course. Yeah, so. Even if he knows even if he sees him. Wow, he's just walking in here looking around. Oh, he's like, they are so on to me. I mean, I know you just walk around like you're supposed to be there. You can...
Starting point is 01:09:43 Mr. Bodry, you've done me a kindness. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, two titans colliding. This is bonkers. This is insane. Whoa! That's the name of the title of this episode. Oh my God. Oh my God, dude.
Starting point is 01:10:27 What a penulteum episode. All right, we got to get right into the finale here, so we're going to do that. Oh, boy. Oh, my God, dude. She's meaner, she's bigger, she's bad, Joan. That's right. Is that your McConnell? Hey, Joan.
Starting point is 01:10:46 Hey, John. You know he smokes a lot of cigarettes. Oh, that's right. My favorite hero, Landau? All right, guys. We are on season four, episode 12, the finale. John, I don't want it to end. It's so good.
Starting point is 01:11:01 I know. All right, and commencing in a three. And I want to one. They... Getaway. Why not the perfect getaway? What the hell have I done? I'm sorry, sir, you're on the wrong floor.
Starting point is 01:11:15 Oh, it's exactly the right floor. There is so much tension right now, and the stakes are so high. So what do you want? I want you to disappear from my life, like a ghost. What do you think? I'm Patrick Swayze. And you'll disappear from my life. I couldn't care less about your life or death. Fascinating.
Starting point is 01:11:33 Unless you get in my way. Fascinating. If I were you, I'd give up vigilance. You're not very good at it. Ha ha, ha. You have no idea, Bucco. Goodbye. Goodbye.
Starting point is 01:11:45 I hope he's not in the phone book. He's right. I screwed up. I'll let it come to this. But no more. I'm watching you. No fucking more. Yes.
Starting point is 01:11:56 Yes. The gloves are off. The game is afoot. Or in the middle of the day you're at again. Do your fucking job. Whoa! Oh, no. Lab geek my ass.
Starting point is 01:12:09 No, no, no, no, no. Don't answer it. It could be important about the baby or something. I have something very important to say. I'm pregnant again. Wow. I want my honeymoon with you this weekend. Rita.
Starting point is 01:12:25 Let me take care of a little business first. Perfect time. Aster and Cody will be in Disney room. Oh. I always wanted to go there. I think it's fantastic. I'll start booking flights to hotel. in flights of hotel and...
Starting point is 01:12:37 Yeah! Jesus Christ, dude! Oh! Gotta risk it. Maybe the only opportunity I get. The guy who he hit. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:12:48 Yep, the guy who he hit. Oh, Christ the Lord, no. Go home. I'm gonna call homicide, meet to these cities. Christine Hill just committed suicide in front of you. Yeah, dude. Oh. Stambo trees.
Starting point is 01:13:01 Is our number one Trinity suspect? We want it. Good luck. Stan. Do we live in together? Married people do that. Yeah. My house?
Starting point is 01:13:11 Your house sounds fine. My casa, sue casa. You said my dad left you for another CI. You followed him to her house. Any chance you remember where she lives? Shit. Really? Great.
Starting point is 01:13:23 My day just got wide open. You up for a road trip? Ugh. Oh my goodness. No, no, no, don't like that. This is how you find closure. You find out your dad's past. And you find out Dexter's, uh, relationship and
Starting point is 01:13:35 connection to that pest. Whoa! Damn. Damn. What is in that package? Finally, it's over. Savings account closed, checking account closed. Huh? Huh?
Starting point is 01:13:53 That you'll be missing with all your money and everyone will assume that you skip the country. Luck is finally working with me. I don't know about that. Oh, no. He spoke too soon, you jinxed it. I was on my way to a crime scene. Come on, he's working the whole cop brotherhood angle. No one's above the law, pal.
Starting point is 01:14:14 Okay, be cool. I'll pay for your mirror. That's right, don't get shorty. Oh shit. So much for diplomacy. Oh, I hate this, dude. Oh my God. How is this one episode going to tie all this up?
Starting point is 01:14:33 He was a man. Yeah. things too like he always made me feel safe and the crowd I ran with that meant a lot here it is good man yeah she's friend he was friends with deuce bigelow oh no oh is this by where bynie is that where bynie's uh house was or no where biny took her the the extra killer brian mozer it's biny she's gonna discover two things now holy shit Oh my god. Dude, this is gonna just shatter her world view on everything. What do you want me to say? I'm here because I lost it. Yes, I fucking lost it.
Starting point is 01:15:16 On a fucking cop. They were gonna find him. They were gonna find me with an unconscious man. That's not. Oh, cool. I couldn't just let them find him. God damn it. I have to be the one to kill him. Oh. I have to know he's gone. My family. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:15:36 You can't think clearly because of them. Oh, shit. They've done this to you. Oh, no. Oh, I don't like this. Yes. It's ruining my life. It is your life.
Starting point is 01:15:47 Yes. All the above. Been back checking Stan Bodry's truck and route stuck up a couple of past employers. They put him 3,000 miles away from Pittsburgh and 89. In Sacramento and 92. So he couldn't have been at those locations. If he's not a guy, we're gonna look like fools. I knew it wasn't Bodry.
Starting point is 01:16:03 Hey. We believe in you, Masuka. Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I asked about the dates on this postmark. Summer of 92, there was a bathtub murder. Where was Stambodry? In addition to those murders, there was a 10-year-old boy missing five days prior to the bathtub kill. Sounds familiar.
Starting point is 01:16:21 So I called a few cities. Ten-year-old boys missing? Every time. Ew. Wow. Let's check every Trinity city for missing 10-year-olds. We may be looking at a whole new pattern. Great scott.
Starting point is 01:16:33 This is heavy. This is heavy, Doc. Brian and Dexter and Looser? Oh! Ooh-hoo! Yeah. Ooh-hoo! She just realized they're brothers!
Starting point is 01:16:51 We're out of bunks for the night. There's a shot, Arthur, still, I'm just... Bummer. Budget cuts are getting worse and worse. This guy looks familiar. We figure we could at least do you the favor of calling your wife. Have her come pick you out. My wife?
Starting point is 01:17:03 Fucking A. God damn it, man. Oh. How is it I can kill people and feel no regret? The disappointing Rita makes me feel like the scum of the earth. Come on. Scum of the earth. First it was smashing that light, which was weird. And then you punched Elliot, which actually light. Hey. Yeah, huh?
Starting point is 01:17:25 Pick a fight with a sheriff. It's a whole side of you. I don't know, Dexter. This darkness creeps in and takes over. Makes you sound crazy. Maybe I am. Maybe I am. No, I don't believe that. Trying desperately not to be crazy.
Starting point is 01:17:39 Shit. Hey, me and Dexter were thinking along the same lights. Bring me your jewelry. Gold, silver, anything with stone in it. And all the cash in your purse. Wow, dude. What did you do? Doctor, please, no.
Starting point is 01:17:53 Don't ever question me. I gave you everything you have. I will take it all away. Wow, you do have a god complex in this house. Someone stole something from me. And I'm gonna find him I just hope he doesn't find out his I just hope he doesn't find out his son help Dexter
Starting point is 01:18:07 This is our chance We'll live in fear We already do He's got a point Yeah we could at least be free in fear Then prisoners in fear Thanks for your time deputy chief I know you're busy
Starting point is 01:18:19 Jesus Oh yeah He told Dexter not to Yeah on the golf course Laura Moser was murdered In that shipping container She had two boys One of those boys was Dexter
Starting point is 01:18:28 Oh Yeah Harry adopted him. The other boy was too damaged by the incident. Oh. Your father wanted to protect you. He didn't want either one of you to ever know. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:41 Ah, shit, dude. Naur. Naur. Nor. Is Rita get to see the real Dexter? Or the dark passenger Dexter, at least, I mean. Dexter. Whenever they picked up Paul, it was a relief.
Starting point is 01:18:55 My life got easier. Oh. The man physically abused her and mentally. anguished her. What's upsetting me is the idea of losing you. Oh, Rita. Please fly to the keys tomorrow morning.
Starting point is 01:19:09 I want to meet you. Truly, there's nowhere I'd rather be. Oh, boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. I don't like it. I don't like, I don't like, I don't like it. Do you remember any little things about the van? Was empty except for some papers. There was a picture on it.
Starting point is 01:19:22 Do you remember what it looks like? It's a picture of Jesus. I suck a drawing, so this would not be helpful for me. I was going to say, is it going to be the build flyer? Yeah, that's what that's the one I was I just forgot the name four four walls is that what's called? Yeah Grimm It's got to be a missing ten-year-old boy
Starting point is 01:19:43 Grim Oh, Jesus Christ Approximate age 10 years old 10? Yep, yep Oh, I'm really Oh, he's at the apartment? He's at the apartment Oh no oh no oh no oh no he's not at the house
Starting point is 01:20:00 Oh, weird. Shit! Oh, please, Toby Demp's not home. You're a little piggy, Dexter Morgan. Nice little window into... Debra! Debra! Disney World awaits.
Starting point is 01:20:15 They'll be safe there. I've always wanted to go to Disney World, John. Oh, that's Paul's parents. Goofy grandparents. I just got a few loose ends of time of work, and I'll see you tonight. That's going to be a frigate release. Can't wait to be with my family. God, I hope we get to that honeymoon.
Starting point is 01:20:34 It's gonna be a wild little finish here, John. Did he take his tools, pack a bag? Does he have a passport? I don't know. When we got up this morning, he was gone. Oh, Shaz-Bod. You gotta get the hell out of there, dog. Whoa!
Starting point is 01:20:48 It's the buzz! Oh my god! Hate that. Hate that. Whoa! Do you sneak out of the back door? Damn! Damn, they know who he is now.
Starting point is 01:21:01 They got the name. Dexter, where's your flag jacket? I left it in the car. Did you see this? No, we're here. Look. Oh, look how weary she is of him. Yeah, she's not looking at him the same.
Starting point is 01:21:17 Yeah, he's brothers with Biny. It's the fucking karate kid. Whoa. You pull that shit again next time I won't be the one who's on my ass. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, don't let them see you. This poor family. Yeah, God.
Starting point is 01:21:37 Oh, no. No, that's not going to be your family. Arthur left his family too late. The damage was already done. You can still save your family. Jeez, dude, this debate is heavy. Because long after you're executed, they'll still have to go through life with your name branded across their foreheads.
Starting point is 01:21:53 Ooh. I found another CI dad was sleeping with. Laura Moser? A woman named Laura Mose. Yeah Should it? Look, she died, but she left behind two little boys. Oh.
Starting point is 01:22:06 And one of those little boys was you. Ooh. Oh, shit. Don't say the rest. Don't know it. The ice truck killer. Oh. The ice truck killer.
Starting point is 01:22:19 Oh. And that's all she knows. Think Brian knew about me. He must have glommed onto you as a way to get to me. Oh, this is good. Did you see, it wasn't your fault? He wasn't your fault. If I've never been in your life.
Starting point is 01:22:32 Fuck you. Oh. If you hadn't been in my life, I wouldn't be who I am. He's been the one constant. The one constant. Family runs deeper than blood. No one would ever say that about Arthur. Maybe Harry's wrong.
Starting point is 01:22:52 Maybe things could turn out differently for me. You're a different guy. Oh, the wind chill. First-rate job. Congratulations. It was Detective Morgan who brought these killings to the department's attention. And Lundy. Fuck, yes, Special Agent Lundy. You can hear her voice.
Starting point is 01:23:13 We'll be taking over from here. So after we do all the heavy lifting. You get all the credits. I'm sure they're grateful for all your hard work. Oh yeah, they get to take credit for. Oh, yeah. Literally did all the work for this. the work for them. It's all right, Dexter's gonna get the final word.
Starting point is 01:23:31 You're hoping. Stupid car, I've been good to you. How dare you not work on me? Who's my fucking oil captain? Yeah. Whoa! Hello, Arthur Mitchell. Wow. Oh, finally, Jesus Christ.
Starting point is 01:23:54 I've been waiting for this so long. I was following my path. My path? A man with a godlike complex would say that. Yeah. Such an effective little motif. Oh, this is going to be his greatest blood vial. I gave everything.
Starting point is 01:24:16 No, you took everything. The future. Their hope. Christine even killed herself. No. What did you expect, dude? She just wanted your approval and know you loved her. and you told her no.
Starting point is 01:24:27 I prayed to be changed, to be made different. That's not trying. That's waiting. Do you stop? Cool. It's already over. Oh.
Starting point is 01:24:40 Oh, is that the train? Ugh. You brought him down to the shelter, right? The bomb shelter? Yeah. Oh, I didn't even realize. It took me a moment to realize.
Starting point is 01:24:55 Oh. Oh, you're gonna bludgeon him. Woo! Slice of life. Holy shit. Dude, you better get out to Rita. It's nighttime now. I wonder if Rita's looking at this same moon,
Starting point is 01:25:12 at this same moment. I like that connected by light. Hey, that's deep. That's in such a rush to get Harrison organized. I forgot my ID for the plane. Oh. So I'm zooming home for it. Oh, and I know you're not into this stuff,
Starting point is 01:25:24 but the moon tonight is going to be amazing. Oh. Oh. I'm so confused. Please tell me something didn't happen. Please tell me. What the fuh. Oh my God.
Starting point is 01:25:39 He didn't do anything. Arthur. Oh my God. What? Oh my God. What? What? What?
Starting point is 01:25:47 What? What? Did Arthur do something? Please tell me Arthur. It wasn't there. Oh my God! No! Holy fuck
Starting point is 01:25:58 Rita! No, no, Rita! What? Oh, oh, oh, both of us. Oh, no. I thought I could change what I am, keep my family safe. But it doesn't matter what I do. What I choose.
Starting point is 01:26:22 I'm what's wrong. I was so worried this is going to. happened. This is fate. I didn't even want to say it in case it was going to happen, but I was worried. Oh my God. Wow. I don't even know what to say, John.
Starting point is 01:26:46 I don't either. Yeah, so that was season four. guys um oh my god shit fuck rita punishing where do we go from here um all right well that was season four um yeah uh if you are in youtube make sure you do all the YouTube stuff leave a like let us know you've were giving you top quality content and uh share the video if you don't mind we would appreciate it absolutely and uh make sure you have the notification bell away you are notified whenever we drop videos such as these
Starting point is 01:27:29 special thanks to the fine folks over at Preper for editing down these highlights so you were able to view it on YouTube I'm sure it is a task especially these Dexter videos with all the gore that is in them so we appreciate them working so hard to get them viewable here on the YouTube's and if you are listening
Starting point is 01:27:45 to us on Apple or Spotify if you don't mind dropping us a five-star rating we would really appreciate it John I know we gotta do this first oh yeah yeah we're just gonna keep ourselves a little bit on track there's a stack shoots because yeah i get out of control when it comes to talking so it's a good idea to hold me account we're both prone both have a lot of thoughts but we can be i think we can
Starting point is 01:28:10 be thorough but efficient just i'm assuming we have a lot of questions but just within one minute or so how are you feeling oh this is you know still a bit of shell-shocked obviously taken aback heartbroken but this is a fantastic season TV this was a really fascinating story from top to bottom excellent guest stars because
Starting point is 01:28:39 you know John Lithgow obviously is you know going to be the one that everybody spotlights the most but the gal who played Christine also great and a lot of other great performers along the way as well a lot of great plot lines a lot of great emotional
Starting point is 01:28:55 developments this was tremendous i agree with you it was definitely the best season is also the most tragic and heartbreaking and there's been tragic and heartbreaking season so far i again i had a feeling this an inclination this could happen but i didn't want to say i didn't want to possibly make it come true i thought if i didn't say it it might not happen but i don't i don't know where we go from here because dexter has been in a play i mean i'm going to save my my thoughts for the question but again emotional engaging action-packed well I wouldn't say action-packed but just like the moments where we did get action and and Dexter dark passenger moments were incredible immersive and really there was so much suspense too this is probably one of the heaviest when it comes to suspense you know especially the tension between dexter and Arthur was incredible and their dialogue was so fascinating to watch especially when you see the trauma that has brought them to this point and point in terms of where they are in the present and then but also they've had different nurturing in terms of their parents and their mentorship so it's just really fascinating but we have a lot
Starting point is 01:30:08 of questions so we're going to get right into it and then i mean these are probably going to address anything else yeah exactly exactly that's this this is a season where like the questions are going to probably be pretty pointed i'm kind of sharing with saving my thoughts right now i'm sure exactly thank you uh anyways vampire toad this is a big season and a big finale. Here, here. What are your feelings about the way this season arc wrapped up? How do you think Dexter is going to be affected
Starting point is 01:30:34 by the events of the finale? With all this in mind, how do you see season five, probably my favorite season, unfolding, what are your expectations, your worries, or your hopes,
Starting point is 01:30:45 keep up the great reactions. I really enjoy your friendship and commentary. I can't wait for some great season five conversations. Absolutely. Love you, friend. Love you, too, brother. Love you, T, you want to go first on this?
Starting point is 01:30:57 Sure. I mean, absolutely. Quite a few questions in here to unpack, but... I'm excited for season five, and yeah, we'll do our best. I feel like we can be both eloquent but concise today. But, yeah, I feel like I've heard a few people say season five is their personal favorite whilst acknowledging, like, everybody agrees on one through four, and then I feel like from here on we're out of the realm of, you know,
Starting point is 01:31:25 unanimity. So I'm really excited to check out season five and two with this like direct fulcrum of a cliffhanger. I only can imagine that this is going to do a huge number on Dexter's growth as a person, especially due to, you know, all of the realizations he's having at the end of this, him be like, no, no, no, I'm good for Deb. I'm good for my family. They love me. They want me in their lives. And do they want what I bring to them? And I can be a force for good in their work. and also a protector of sorts. And so I am faithful that he's not going to go all the way off the deep end because of his specific kid Harrison.
Starting point is 01:32:07 Cody and Astor, I don't even know what becomes of them. They're still his kids. Yeah, I feel like season five is going to be a heavy and a dark season for Dexter personally. And in terms of the way this wrapped up, I mean, heart wrenching, certainly. And I mean, it's less of a, you know, it's a less of a bummer that the FBI is going to basically get the credit for this knowing that you know once
Starting point is 01:32:28 it's off of Miami Metro's hands you know Dexter taking out Trinity isn't as big of a problem for the people we care the most about but yeah man the whole Rita thing I it was such a taught compelling
Starting point is 01:32:45 cat and mouse game and it was so kind of you know you had that kind of of catharsis breathe out it's done and then yeah that ending just freaking Wallop. Yeah, and also too, obviously we make the comparisons and the parallels between Harrison, which just happened with the trauma and being born in blood, which, you know, with the title of the episode to Dexter. But I would also point out that Astor and Cody are now also in the position of Dexter where their mom was just slaughtered as well. And now Dexter has to become their hairy. So I would also point that out as well. I would also say that we are going to now have a season where Dexter is going to feel guilt that this is. all his fault when he could have allowed this man to jump off the building when he had a chance to take this man out but he threw his phone and got arrested when he took the call from Deb and
Starting point is 01:33:35 went to see her there were several chances to take this man out and Rita would still be alive right now so Dexter is going to go through an internal crisis of his own of guilt of I could have had him several times I could have let him jump to his fate but I didn't because I had to get the kill. And so, yeah, I think it creates a moral dilemma for Dexter, but it also creates incredible drama as well for us, the viewer, and the audience. And, you know, Dexter's going to really have to step up his game as a father because now he's a single parent.
Starting point is 01:34:13 And I myself, and granted, my mother was not slaughtered like this, but I know a thing or two about a parent having to be the mom and the dad at the same point because my dad was incredible when it came to. that he had four children by himself and it's not an easy job so i i feel for dexter and also my dad was not a vigilante at the same time so i can only imagine the double duties of having to do mom and dad plus everything else they was doing so we thought dexter was tired in the first episode uh you know having a guilty conscious uh 24 7 plus being a vigilante i can imagine he's probably going to retire from vigilante duties uh feeling the guilt and i know i'm probably going on and on right now because i've got
Starting point is 01:34:54 so many damn thoughts and we got so many damn questions and but actually this is this is not as formidable of a block as some of these yes either either way season two i think had like a bunch of either way if i was a writer i if i was a writer and i was writing season five there's a myriad of ways i we could go with with season five in my mind with at least dexter's character and also with the kids uh so and two the question becomes like what is the what is the trinity bleed over going to be because it certainly seems as though this was a Trinity the first you know
Starting point is 01:35:29 the bathtub kill so unless something awful happened that is outside of that that I can't see coming yeah I'm like this is gonna how is Dexter getting tied up in the Trinity the drags of the Trinity case going to factor in
Starting point is 01:35:44 Dexter's going to marry Arthur Mitchell's wife and take and adopt his children and then they're going to be one half of it now seriously he's going to have five kids. This is so tragic. I'm like I really am going to hate not seeing Rita anymore like this is so
Starting point is 01:36:00 freaking awful and sad and again like I'm going to understand the perplexing thought of that's going to be going through Dexter's mind of why didn't I just allow my ego to let this man jump to his fate so that's going to be
Starting point is 01:36:17 fascinating to watch as we get into season five so like I'm excited for season season five from a dramatic and character growth perspective but I'm also it's a daunting thing to have to go through because we're gonna
Starting point is 01:36:31 if we thought we've seen Dexter at his lowest point I don't think we have this is a different kind of lowest point and I really feel for him so and the family of course so yeah thank you
Starting point is 01:36:46 Vampire Toad hope we were able to answer your question or questions appreciate you being a royal reject absolutely You got the thing. Lindsay du-de-de-de-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-h. Here we go, John and Andrew, this, the time is here. You've finished what may he consider a top-tier season finale.
Starting point is 01:37:09 Where do we go from here? Who will Dexter become without Rita and what will happen to the kids? Was it ever possible for Dexter to have it all, a real life and his hobby? Or was this always a doomed reality? Well, Lindsay, really, really appreciate the question. I think I answered three quarters of the question just a moment ago. But I will say, was it ever possible for Dexter to have it all a real life and his hobby? I mean, I think he was going to retire after this finale.
Starting point is 01:37:39 I really, in my heart of hearts, believe that he was going to retire that hobby possibly and just really focus on his life with Rita and the kids. Yeah. And that's where it seemed to the indication to me, at least my interpretation was. So I think it was possible not to do both because it seemed like it was too much of a juggling act to do both. As much as I appreciated that he was taking out the trash and being that vigilante. And it was seriously a very dutiful thing that he was doing. And like, and it was very noble.
Starting point is 01:38:11 And but it was also, it was a lot to have to be able to juggle family life and be this vigilante that takes out the human garbage. It's a lot for any human to I mean just being a family man is a lot So to have to be able to do both I think would be a bit much And that's why I think Had all this gone over smoothly In the final episode here
Starting point is 01:38:30 And Rita did not meet her doom From this horrific monster known as Arthur Mitchell I really feel like Dexter could have had it all While retiring the dark passenger And he had accepted that He told Harry and his subconscious here When he was dressed up as the cop there at the crime scene
Starting point is 01:38:48 or rather at Arthur Mitchell's home that he was ready to have this life with Deb Oh, TEP, excuse me That is his wife in real life at the time But I mean with Rita, excuse me I know you've been shipping them No, that was only the one time
Starting point is 01:38:59 In the season one. Just because these questions are quite similar I'm going to pull in Riannan as well Thank you for chiming in And hi guys, first time question actor Asker long time Dexter lover Thank you for chiming in as well Rianan asks
Starting point is 01:39:14 With the season four finale in mind I'd love to hear your thoughts. How do you feel about Rita's role and character arc throughout the series? Do you think her ending was inevitable or could things have gone differently if Dexter had made other choices? Yeah, I mean, to this collective question,
Starting point is 01:39:29 like, I'm not sure I would imagine, it's like if, yeah, if he'd got his guy and Rita was fine and they got to have their little honeymoon, I could certainly imagine a version of this where if, I don't necessarily foresee him in that case, retiring the Dark Passenger completely, but certainly re-adjointed, adjusting his work-life hobby balance and yeah being maybe a little less
Starting point is 01:39:53 chaotic in the application of some of that and I do love the you know tension that they ring out of him in a season like this being like well I can't kill him yet I've got stuff to learn and I still got to kind of understand a greater context about this guy who's you know uniquely suited to shine some light on my own condition but yeah when it comes to Rita like the I have to imagine that This is going to send him into a spiral of sorts. I think the grasp on humanity that he has right now, tenuous though it may be,
Starting point is 01:40:28 is going to get more tenuous. I don't foresee it 100. I think that would be the question. Will it break, given that he still has the kids to ground him? But will he be able to accept, you know, the responsibility of being their dad
Starting point is 01:40:40 and the implications of that, given who he is? But I think the fact that he finds little Harris in this pool of blood will ignite that sort of hairy instinct of like I got to look out for this kid at least. But it's just so tragic with Rita.
Starting point is 01:40:56 I mean, I don't know what will happen to the kids. I mean, on the one hand, I could see Dexter having, you know, custody or care of them. And at the same time, I could imagine a version of this where that's not really plausible or possible or maybe, you know, social work or whatever, you know, doesn't think that's the best
Starting point is 01:41:12 idea, but he can keep his biological son. I honestly am not really sure what to expect of the kids other than a lot of grieving and mourning and a funeral to start it's like we ended season three on a marriage now we and start season five i assume on a funeral and uh i mean rita's role has been really lovely and uh i mean her performance uh julie bends has been amazing and the arc of the character like who she's grown into i know we have sat here and commented so many times about you know the different emotions and and you know states of mind that she's able to portray and going from somebody who was a lot more timid and fragile and who was clearly
Starting point is 01:41:51 still actively, you know, caught up in a lot of trauma to watch her do the work on that and to really learn how to set boundaries. Like, she's kind of often her own show in a lot of ways. And it's interesting to watch Dexter try and rise to the occasion for her. But, uh, but yeah, like the amount of strength and growth that that character showed was a really vital and important, I think, presence on the show and I do feel like I feel like characters in that position are often kind of unfairly you know sort of cast into
Starting point is 01:42:23 like a you know I don't like this character because they're getting in the way of the fun shit that my protagonist is doing but I really do love the motif of you know him wondering and dissecting the idea that Rita and by proxy the kids keep him and make him human and that
Starting point is 01:42:40 they inspire they are the seed that grows the goodness that you know if any goodness takes place in there there's a seed from harry there's a seed from deb and there's a seed from rita and the kids basically and they were probably the strongest most current vital one so uh i mean just all of the love and and you know appreciation for the work that julie ben's put on screen that they put on screen together and i just wonder where the context was like if this was always part of one of the books or you know if this was always part of the plan or if she was just
Starting point is 01:43:10 ready to i'm sure at this point your star is probably more established and more on the rise than at the start. So maybe she wanted to move on. I don't know, but either way. I feel like things could have gone differently if he had made some different choices in this season. And I feel like things could have turned out differently if she hadn't died.
Starting point is 01:43:31 And I am just so fascinated to see what the fallout and what the unpacking of this is going to look like. And these are all great points and good questions to ask John. And it's never where I thought it would happen. No, no, no, no, of course. It hurts. it's the first time we've gotten like a real this is going to this season is going to lead directly into the next season for sure no for sure and again it at one time said it in my head
Starting point is 01:43:56 i'm like when he was looking at deborah's stuff and at the apartment and i was just worried like i hope he doesn't find out the the actual address to to where dexter and and ria live but you know that old saying history repeats itself over the cycle you know the vicious cycle repeats and when it comes to being born in blood, obviously with Harrison and all that. But Rita's arc throughout this entire series has been really, it's been fun to watch. It's been tragic at the same point to watch,
Starting point is 01:44:26 but it's been very, it's been satisfying to watch, is what I would say too, at the same point. To see her be such a pushover at the beginning and then to see her finally having her own agency and to stand up for herself and to be so direct with people and to feel her feelings. And then the relationship that has blossom over the last four seasons between her and Dexter,
Starting point is 01:44:51 it's really been, it's like a seed that you plant into the ground and then you see it blossom into a beautiful flower. It's really been beautiful to watch. And like to see that flower just be ripped out from the ground from John and I and all you who love this show, it's really tragic to see. I know I continue to use that word, at nauseam, John.
Starting point is 01:45:14 But it's, like, it, I was just getting choked up listening to John talk about Rita and just even seeing the name, like, it's, that's, this character means a lot to, I'm going to speak for you, John, to John myself, and I'm sure most of you all, like, I know John was just making the point like, yeah, this character might get in the way of the, the fun stuff, the dark past, I, I never like felt that way because like I felt like this character, as John also just pointed out, and we've talked about this before in other reviews, she made Dexter feel, and I know being the dark passenger, too, because of his traumatic past, you know,
Starting point is 01:45:48 he feels alive when he scratches that itch and he becomes the dark passenger and he's taking out the human filth, which we all can appreciate, you know, I feel, that she allows him to breathe and makes him feel alive and humanizes him. And it's really going to really be hard to see. And when it comes to the kids next season, I could see a scenario where Rita's mom comes back and helps out a little bit. I can see a scenario where Paul's parents have to help out a little bit and do double kind of parenting duties kind of thing. So I'm curious. I mean, John also made the point about social. We'll see. I don't know because I can imagine Dexter in his guilt and his haste is going to feel again a lot of guilt. And maybe that's going to unfortunately transition and rub off over to the
Starting point is 01:46:34 kids and he's not going to be able to be there emotionally and physically for the children. So I worry about that but I think that's going to be part of his emotional arc and his growth in the next season that he's got to be there for them, especially at this moment. So I'm really going to, and I know we're sure, I'm assuming we're going to get some moments here and there of Julie Ben's coming back when Dexter thinks about her. I wonder. But I'm really, I'm really going to miss having her on the show, man. It's, she is such a great character. She was really three dimensional. She had so many different complex layers to her. And it was just more than, Dexter, I want you to change and be the man. I want you to be like just having the moment where she confessed like what she did and that when Dex was being very simplistic in his emotional intelligence of course to say oh no it's fine like we'll get over it
Starting point is 01:47:21 kind of thing and like to see like I'm glad that you're like not you know you're not ripping my head off about this that's sweet of you but like don't don't you give a shit don't you care yeah I want you to like you know give a damn about this yeah some kind of strong reaction to this yeah but then when she saw that he punched the man
Starting point is 01:47:38 who did this again you know violence is not always the way obviously but like that showed like oh my god this man really does care about me he loves me he'll fight for me uh you know if if another man puts his hands on me and you know i was i was emotionally uh you know vulnerable in the moment and and i succumbed to that that emotion type of thing but like i loved her so much and this is just again so heartbreaking so uh i'm gonna be happy to at least hopefully see her in some moments but also it's going to make me sad that she's not fully a part of the show anymore. And I can only assume when they told Julie Ben's the show,
Starting point is 01:48:14 hey, this is for the betterment of the show, unfortunately. But we're sorry, we have to kill off her character. You can only imagine. Again, if it's not a scheduling thing, she must have went, oh, no, oh, I'd love to be on the show. But she did a phenomenal job. Like, praise to Julie Ben's. Great job, seriously.
Starting point is 01:48:30 You really brought the character to life. Like, incredible job. And the chemistry between her and Michael C. Hall was absolutely phenomenal. You really felt that they were just such a, dynamic duo and you really bought that relationship and and all their all their strengths all their things all the times that they conflicted with each other it was just it was just a wholesome organic relationship from top to bottom I'm gonna miss her so much thank you so much for the question of X absolutely for both Rianan and Lindsay yes for the questions if we appreciate it
Starting point is 01:49:03 and then Rianan has a follow-up here okay how does this twist compare to the other big shocks and dexter up to this point um and loving the reactions thank you rey and we appreciate you so much and for asking the question for the first time uh please ask more questions in the future love to hear from you uh because we got the biny twist that was holy crap even deborah finding out i don't know if that's a twist per se but i don't i'm i'm gonna go with reed i mean yes i know you can say they were building up to this moment because the women in the bathtub and then a child born out of blood and they called it so if you probably rewatch it you're like they're building
Starting point is 01:49:43 up to this moment I'm gonna go with Rita man I know it's recency biased but the Biny one was huge I'm not downplaying that in any way it's either that or this yeah it's between those two it's like hey it's literally right there they're both
Starting point is 01:49:58 they're both huge they're both huge I'm not down playing Biny in any way that was like holy shit but I think this one this one just And again, I fell for binding. They gave the fact that you can make me feel sympathy for a man who is literally taking life
Starting point is 01:50:15 and not human garbage. You know what I mean? And because he didn't have that nurtureship and that mentorship, rather. And it gives you that sense of, oh, wow, we really are a product of the environment around us and that we grew up in. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:50:31 So I felt for Biny. And again, that twist was horrible. It was crazy, rather. and but this one just this hurts more this twist honestly it's more shocking in a way it's just more painful and and cold and sad uh i mean yeah it's either that or or the ice truck yeah the brian reveal the brian moser reveal uh it's either i think that in context is like super strong and was a real fierce one-to punch with like oh we know who it is before the end of the show and oh shit now we really know who it is
Starting point is 01:51:06 But this definitely was a gut punch and a wallop. And whereas that, I think you could maybe more easy, not easily. You could more readily, I think, unravel that than predict this. I mean, her being off screen kind of tricks you into a false sense of security because you're like, yeah, she's going away on her trip. But, but yeah, like once she gets back and it's that whole like, oh, you know, I forgot something at the house like, yeah, my stomach just started to sink. And it's like you're either in for a sweet moment or. or a not very sweet moment. And I mean, yeah, like every season has had great twists
Starting point is 01:51:41 and great reveals, but I think these two certainly take the cake in terms of just, again, the magnitude of them, most certainly. Yeah, thank you so much for the question. We appreciate our questions, we appreciate it. All right, Hunter Preston, how do you feel about the villain of the season slash week of Dexter at this point?
Starting point is 01:52:04 When Dexter came out, that was the mole. for most shows, but by the time it ended, TV switched over to storylines told over multiple seasons. Yeah, I mean, I think at the time this was coming out, you know, you're starting to crest into having cable prestige television be more accessible to people and I think just a bigger cultural force than ever before. I think you're transitioning out of the time when like network TV is the main water cooler entertainment. And so yeah, I think it's a fascinating thing to observe. I like the fact that you have
Starting point is 01:52:40 a villain of the season, but you also have some episodic nature with each season, but you also have a much stronger than I had even expected through line of Dexter's growth as a human to really make everything feel serialized. So I think it's
Starting point is 01:52:56 really cool to see that this might have rubbed off on so many things and I really enjoy the way they orchestrate their storytelling. For sure. No, I think this might have been my favorite villain of the four seasons so far and I think John Lithgow
Starting point is 01:53:12 just again the way I mentioned it already a few times the way he was able to flip on a dime when it came to his emotions and the way he expressed himself and the way he was able to just change from scary to welcoming to psychotic it's really impressive and that again just gets me so excited for him as
Starting point is 01:53:27 Dumbledore because Dumbledore is such a welcoming it's such a welcoming person but there's one specific scene in half-blood prints where he freaks out on a certain set of people. And now watching John Lithgow on this, I'm like, I get why they chose him. He's perfect for this. So yeah, I would say him, but also to the parallels between him and Dexter are just so fascinating. I loved all their dialogue together. And also too, like the fact that Dexter could have taken him out so many different times, but I'm like, he wanted to really improve his family life.
Starting point is 01:53:57 And when he saw this facade that Arthur had created of this perfect family life, you know, he's like, I've got more to, you know, I really am a perfectionist when it comes to this. And I really do care about my family. They mean the world to me. I truly believe that. And I feel like this man can put me in a position before I take him out, that he can put me in a position where I comfort them and put them in a position that they feel that they are loved because I have another job to do. But I still want them. And this guy also does something very similar, although he takes out good people. But you know we have similar paths just on different ends of the spectrum but we are we are trying to be good family mental though that was obviously again a facade when it came to Arthur so I understand Dexter's propensity and need to try to learn from this guy for like hey this guy's bad news but I'll try to get something good out of him and I can understand that that's a very human emotion and again grounds it to reality at the end it was unfortunately for Rita's undoing and it's just something sucks. But if Dexter had a crystal ball and would have known that and were just taking him out or let him fall to his doom. But, you know, again, I don't blame Dexter when it comes to that kind of thing. Because no one can, you know, and no one can know the future. If they did, you know, they'd make a million dollars betting on sports games and all that kind of stuff. And then they'd be Biff Tannen. You know, so it's tough. But again, it creates an interesting conflict between the two because they are very similar when it comes to, again, their traumas and their past where Arthur,
Starting point is 01:55:33 Not similar in terms of just they have trauma pass, but Arthur was mentally or mentally anguished, physically abused, and this led him down this path, whereas Dexter witnessed an actual murder of his mother and this led him here, but the difference was that Dexter had Harry, whereas Arthur did not. So it creates an interesting dynamic between the two of them,
Starting point is 01:55:55 and I loved all their dialogue was so fascinating. Yeah. So great, my favorite villain so far, Ben, I've loved all the villains, just to add that. Yeah. That's high praise for how good the villains have been up to this point. Super dimensional, kaleidoscopic, fascinating performance character at all. Yes.
Starting point is 01:56:12 Like truly standout amongst a bunch of standouts. Yes. Hunter Preston, follow up question. This is a pretty quick one. Do you think Dexter would have benefited any from the way TV shows are structured today? Possibly. I mean, I'm assuming when this came out that this probably came out with what is By the week, I don't know, do you know the answer to that?
Starting point is 01:56:35 Yeah, like weekly. Okay. You might have some reason why there's a couple weeks between usually weekly. I'm going to assume that the question then is like going to, would this have probably been like more of a streaming thing and it comes out all at once? I guess for like people nowadays, they would have probably liked that we can just binge it all now, but I like the mystery of, I remember like just growing up with shows, having to wait that week.
Starting point is 01:56:56 I know it sucked, but I also like that nuance and that mystery of like having to wait. It kind of sucks, but anticipation is. is a part of the is a part of fandom is a part of enjoying yeah especially a long form anything or or i don't know yeah like anticipation is often the most fun part of the cycle and so a thing like this i think benefits from that and i honestly i don't really think that it would have benefited from the way tv shows are structured today because a it's not all together super different uh in that you know every episode has to have its own isolated structure and you know uh thematics and whatnot. And I think they're really strong at giving each episode, you know, different themes for all the different characters to confront. And, you know, you need some kind of strong crescendo or cliffhanger at the end of each episode to get us coming back each week. So I feel like, you know, this is kind of perfect for what it is. And this has a lot of the great benefits of being both a limited series or having, you know, again, an anthological quality
Starting point is 01:57:57 in that you have one major case or a couple major conflicts each season. But, you know, you have the serial the super serialized elements that go across every season as well and so like I think yeah like now shows now have learned from this and I feel like dropping this all at once once as a binge wouldn't help it really in any way like it's good it would still be great but I feel like week to week with the way they write it right now zero complaints and there's nothing about the current state of things I wish this had yeah no no agree with you and last thing I'll say I would just say like I would definitely enjoy this as a binge even though we didn't like binge it all the way through
Starting point is 01:58:35 we did it over the course of a couple weeks or so but if I watch this whole thing right away I'd be like shit I want more so like having the weekly again it adds a mystery but it adds the I think you said it best it adds that anticipation so that's why I miss like having with my smallville with my boy meets world Power Rangers what Batman the Animated series
Starting point is 01:58:54 Bobby's world what all these great shows we had that weekly thing there was just a sense of nostalgia you know a nostalgic thing with it it but also too it just it was a really a sense of uh just i got to wait but i got to wait for something great so like we are binging this but i am happy for the breaks we get in between the binges you know we're watching this faster than i would prefer even though this has been a blast and i've loved the uniqueness of this experience but like as a general viewer yeah for sure i totally agree one a bar thank you for joining us hi and john hello to you so happy you are
Starting point is 01:59:30 are both doing this watch-along. It's been a lot of fun re-watching the series with you both. Thank you so much. This has been an absolute joy. The season finale, Cemented Dexter, is one of my all-time favorite shows. I didn't see Rita's death coming.
Starting point is 01:59:43 I was in shock for days. I can tell we are going to be. My question is, what other TV shows or movies had a shock or unexpected twist that really stuck with you afterward? No spoilers, if possible. Oh, okay. I won't go with spoilers.
Starting point is 01:59:56 I'll just say the movie then, I guess, right? Sure, why not? uh the departed the departed i'll just leave it at that if you're not going to go spoilers but i'll just say in the movie theater i remember going in a certain scene holy holy shit holy shit i'll just say that uh because i can't go with spoilers here so i'll leave it at that oh my goodness gracious me i know there's going to be some other answer i wish i named uh i mean uh game of thrones has a lot of really crazy twists in it um don't say a word word judge um goodness gracious i mean obviously there's stuff like oh it's the sixth sense or i remember
Starting point is 02:00:35 when split came out and like the reveal of that was like that was awesome pretty crazy that was a cultural moment yes um i did not know that i don't remember in the theater i was like what i know there's going to be something i love uh yeah that we forget to mention but yeah uh there are so many great you know telly twists and movie twists and stuff like that yeah uh walking dead i feel like had some good ones back in its heyday. Yeah, goodness. I'm going to have to think some more on that one. I would love to, without, yeah, like, doing the spoilers.
Starting point is 02:01:08 Just name them in the comments. You know what? I would also put Terminator 2 Judgment Day in there as well. Not the ending or anything, but like there's a point in the first 20 or 30 minutes, if you haven't seen the trailers to that film, where there's a twist in there. And I would say that I would put that movie in there as well. I think you know what I'm talking about, right? I think maybe.
Starting point is 02:01:30 Okay, well, we'll talk about it. I can't talk spoilers because otherwise I would go more into context. Yeah. But if you know the plot of the first film and then when a certain thing gets revealed in the second film, you're like, oh my God, that's where we're going in this film, that is incredible. I did not see that coming because I didn't watch the trailer to this movie where trailers a lot of time spoil things. Yeah. And I know James Cameron was not happy with the trailer. So yeah, I would say terminating.
Starting point is 02:01:56 or two judgment day. All righty. Let's go with that. Thank you so much. We appreciate you, Juan. Nick at night. Oh, I love him. That is great.
Starting point is 02:02:07 Hey, John Andrew, what's up, Nick? Hope you enjoyed season four as much as I did. Favorite season so far and tragic one, too. I think it's the best season with all its reveals in Dexter meeting, another killer as twisted as the ice cream truck killer. I told you that's the name. My question is, what do you think about dead? finally learning about Dexter's connection to the ice cream truck killer and do you think it will
Starting point is 02:02:32 affect their relationship going forward thanks for all the hard work uh thanks for all the hard work guys you're the best well nick thank you for getting the the ice cream truck killer name right we appreciate that first of all um i know guys um so i thought that was fascinating the way deb found out first and foremost and then the way she got it out of matthews because Matthews is like okay she is a detective after all this isn't just some random regular person coming up to me
Starting point is 02:03:02 I'm not gonna bullshit her well yeah and like with that interaction we saw with Dexter like clearly he does he is a person some of the time and it's like she's done the work she knows she knows so now it's yeah he just has to be there to validate yeah I thought it was
Starting point is 02:03:18 fascinating the way Dexter was able to on a dime was able to react the way he did when he's like oh she doesn't know that I've got the dark passenger, so I'm just going to react as naturally as possible so I can sort of pull myself out of the heat that I'm in right now with Deb finding out this information. And also the fact that I didn't know that Deborah was raised, not Deborah, that Laura Moser was my mom and that Brian was my brother. I didn't know that. What? What? Like, that was a good save on Dexter. I'll
Starting point is 02:03:50 give her that. But Deborah is very savvy. We've talked about how emotional she is. We've talked about how impulsive she can be and that she wears her heart in her sleeve and by the way i just want to give jess jessica jennifer carpenter her due her acting display this season the way she's able to really let her emotions out and express herself if she was not nominated for an emmy and again this is really not recency bias and also the fact that i'm so damn attracted to her but if if she was not nominated for an emmy this season i really think they really shunned her honestly that's just my opinion subjectively of course but she was that good honestly yeah having said that deb is very savvy when it comes to her investigation skills she's not dumb she you like the fact
Starting point is 02:04:42 that she got as far she did with the trinity killer was impressive and just everything she's ever been able to solve up to this point she's very good at her job something tells me she's going to find out a lot more about her brother in the coming seasons that's just a me guess uh prediction rather so there are interactions in the future especially also too now dexter is in a very emotionally vulnerable place too as she is she lost the love of her life as well with lundie and that was stolen from her as was dexter's as well this season so dexter they're going to need each other first of all first and foremost but something tells me this is not over that you know she's going to. Usually what happens in movies and TV shows, at least what I've learned, John,
Starting point is 02:05:30 the truth usually comes out at some point. And granted, Rita didn't learn exactly. I mean, I don't know what the interaction was between Arthur Mitchell and Rita. I don't know if he said, Dexter, the man you're married to is really a dark passenger. This is what he does. I have no idea what their interaction. So I don't know if she really learned the truth in her final dark moments or tragic final moments rather but I have a feeling that Deb is going to find out or figure out the truth she's that that good at her job and that savvy and that smart what about you
Starting point is 02:06:06 yeah I mean I think this is definitely going to be something that is looming over the next season for sure I think that you know I really appreciated the exchange that they had together she yeah I absolutely agree she has been incredible across the entire show especially over the course of the season and deb has had a fuck ton of things to contend with and to go through and uh and her performances are just so vulnerable and so vivid and uh and yeah she is an an incredible incredible performer uh and yeah i loved
Starting point is 02:06:44 that they you know really just touch on the fact like i love their exchange at the you know Mitchell house where she's yeah telling him the information and he doesn't give her all of his knowledge but they have a very lovely and painful little moment there and i think it kind of rips that wound back open for him and it comes with a different context for him to be acknowledging it with his sister uh you know it's just a different and but equally striking kind of emotional thing even for somebody who struggles to understand you know the idea of their own emotions. So yeah, I mean, I have to imagine that her knowing this is going to be a thing that gets discussed talked about and that is something that can shed to some level of, like I have to
Starting point is 02:07:39 imagine some tension will arise out of it because, you know, if we, I don't know, I have to assume that he's going to call it in to the police to Metro and then she's going to know about the intimate details of the crime scene and how that is similar to what Dexter went through. The bathtub. Yeah, and I don't know, I have a feeling they're going to be, you know, investigative reasons to bring it back up, but also, yeah, like if Dexter is leading a double life, it's going to give her a new reason to be suspicious, but it could also bring them closer in that, you know, it's another thing that Harry left them to contend with and
Starting point is 02:08:16 that he lied about in order to protect them. And that's just a thing that when shared is a, unique point of, of, uh, identification for two people who were the benefactors of that lie. So, um, yeah, man. It's a really heavy revelation. I, and, uh, watching. I liked that that, I like the up and downs and the backs and forth. Like, they really smartly, I think, beat these storylines out over the course of a season. And so that thread could have been left with her just deciding to not to. And I think the way it ultimately came back around and fulfilled itself. was nicely handled and yeah I'm just I'm fascinated to know what's going to do to them especially
Starting point is 02:08:57 because Deb is about to become most of his you know humanity and support system for sure I agree with you and I think that's going to be if she does really find out the truth like it might either bring her bring her some closure and like why Harry was so dismissive and was not there for her because she was trying to he was trying to contain this boy who had this tragic thing happened to him and like really contain the dark passenger and that it's not that he didn't love you deb he did but like he was trying to like keep the leash on this kid you know what i mean so and he he thought you could handle yourself so it might it could bring her closure or it could bring resentment towards dexter so we'll see and also one last thing i want to get to before we get to our boy j rushden
Starting point is 02:09:42 here john you know we did get asked the question about what was the more one of the most shocking twist we didn't even mention christine hill that was quite a of two ways too. I did forget to mention that. That was quite a two. I kind of packaged it up in there, but yeah, that was an incredible, yeah. Yeah, I just wanted, I just wanted to, I just wanted to bring awareness to that. That was quite a twist too, because I was like under the impression she was just writing and had ambitious goals of her own and she was just using Quinn, which she was.
Starting point is 02:10:09 But I did not expect her to feed the, the Trinity Killer's daughter. So that was quite an... And just another shard of this guy's weird history that we know. never get the full picture of, but that it is just so sorted and twisting and winding. I mean, yeah, you could almost make a show just Arthur. Yeah. Well, that's the sign of a great show is like there is when you can imagine episodes of like a show running alongside this.
Starting point is 02:10:37 Like I could imagine watching something that, yeah, focuses on this character or that character because the life and the circumstance they've drawn is just that rich and interesting. I agree with you. Also, just a couple quick shoutouts because I, completely blank severance great twists on that show holy shit that show with the
Starting point is 02:10:55 twists and the mysteries saw movies I'm a big sucker for saw those are predicated on twists but also shouts out scream great movie great twists at least early on especially some good reveals across the franchise and I will say
Starting point is 02:11:10 the identity the movie identity the James Mangold with John Cusack and a whole bunch of people that movie I remember at the time blew my mind with that twist and I saw that like when I was kind of like a you know literally have no idea what the twist is slightly yeah don't don't look it up maybe I'll react to it if you guys think I should save it and see if you if you guess it yeah like the sixth sense I've never seen that film but I do know the twist because everyone is pointed it yeah but I would still love to see
Starting point is 02:11:38 that movie if you guys think that'd be reactionary worthy but the missed I don't know if that counts as a twist it's more of a more of a shocking weird reveal but yeah they'll keep coming to us. Yeah, yeah, for sure. But thank you so much, Nick and Knight for the question. We appreciate you so much for being a royal reject. Jay Rushden. What up, Jay, and this is our final question. Finally, we got Dexter Thanksgiving show. Question, what is your favorite Thanksgiving food there? Oh, that's a tricky one. I got my answer, John. We'll go. Go for it. Oh, when the bike messengers are not knocking me over, it's got to be the cranberries. I've made a good, I've made a good homemade cranberry
Starting point is 02:12:20 I love them in the canned shape too but I've made a homemade cranberry sauce once or twice I would like to be serious and not give a Sam Rami
Starting point is 02:12:28 Spider-Man reference I would say man I love yam sweet potatoes those are really good I've really grown to love turkey with gravy I used to
Starting point is 02:12:38 hate it I used to think turkey was so dry and not good but then when I started doing gravy a really good gravy can accentuate so many Thanksgiving dishes
Starting point is 02:12:45 low key even though that's not like it's a sauce more than it is a food I would, I would say gravy. I mean, you say low key, but what about Thor? Eh, hey, hey. It's not as traditional, but it's traditional my family.
Starting point is 02:12:58 My grandma, my mom, me, we would make a, like a risotto on Thanksgiving. It's pretty great. Do love a gravy. Love a biscuit. We would also make, like, homemade little biscuits. You know, you put some, like, pumpkin butter or some honey on that. Ooh, John. Real delicious.
Starting point is 02:13:16 Stop buttering me up. It's weird. It's like all the little side character. MVP's. I also love to make, you know, like a, like I said, bourbon pecan pie or a pumpkin pie or something like that. I love pumpkin pie. My favorite. Yeah. Yeah, I would also say sweet potato parmesan, chicken casciatore. Oh, okay. Okay. These are some good things here. Along with the classics, obviously. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Throw a good green bean or a mushroom on the side, you know? Yeah, yeah, no, for sure. I'll eat anything at Thanksgiving table because I'm so thankful.
Starting point is 02:13:45 I'm thankful for you. I'm thankful for everyone here at Reject Nation for the whole team here. thankful for all you guys. Oddly enough, I'm not a big stuffing guy, which I know is like Thanksgiving blasphemy, but, you know, to each their own. Yeah, no, for sure. Yeah, no, no, I feel you. But yeah, let us know in the comments.
Starting point is 02:14:02 What I would love to know a few things. First of all, is this your favorite season of Dexter? How would you rank it so far through the first four seasons? If you want to tell us the whole thing, that's fine as well. Oh, and mashed potatoes are great. And what do you think about mashed potatoes as well? We'd love to hear your thoughts when it comes to that. What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?
Starting point is 02:14:18 We want to know about that. Also, when it comes to seasons 1 through 4, don't go past. What are some of the best twists when it comes to this show? We'd love to hear. Or just favorite twist in a movie or TV show as well. You can mention that as well. We appreciate you guys.
Starting point is 02:14:34 If you stuck with us this long, you guys are the best. This was seriously. Like, thank you. This was great. This was so well acted, so well written. Oh, my God. So great guest stars, multiple. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:14:46 So taught. Like, this is a show worth. at least up till now worth studying. Oh, my God. I can't say enough about how great this was, even though I am in shock and heartbroken and all that. Agreed, agreed. The first four seasons have been nothing short of,
Starting point is 02:14:59 holy crap, amazing, and also sad and tragic and immersive, and I've enjoyed every single moment of it, and I can't wait to continue as well. Even if it's not as good as the first four seasons, I'm still so intrigued by all these characters and just to see where we go from here. So again, if you've stayed with us this long, we really appreciate you.
Starting point is 02:15:24 And yeah, just again, make sure you hit that notification. By the way, you're notified whenever more Dexter videos drop. Hopefully we will be coming soon to you with Season 5. And just whatever videos, whatever else videos we drop here at the Rio Regiix. So stay safe. Take care. Stay out of the bathtub. Oh, God.
Starting point is 02:15:42 We love you, Rita. So much. Love you, Rita. Thank you. Thank you.
