Starting point is 00:00:00 Jesus. What a shit, dad. What a shitty dad? What the house? This is insane. This is insane. Who are you? Is this what 80s parents were like?
Starting point is 00:00:09 Ha ha ha ha. It's time to go back to Freddy's Pizza Ria. Yes. Five nights of Freddy's two. Electric boogaloo. Foli adieu. John, how we feeling? I am so excited to cap off.
Starting point is 00:00:30 an eccentric shooting day, a very emotional shooting day with perhaps the most emotional movie of the year. We're going to reconnect with all our friends, William Afton, Mike, Chica, the gang. Bonnie. Bonnie, Foxy. Don't forget Freddy. Freddy. I'm getting to Freddy and Gold Freddy and all the other Freddie variants. A whole bunch of people. All the characters I grew up on as a kid and love and I bought my Nintendo Switch for years ago. Gosh. How are you? I'm going to. I'm I'm good, man. I've been up since I have not been sleeping at all. And I've been up since like four in the morning.
Starting point is 00:01:07 I kind of like a lot of anxiety and racing thoughts over stuff. But it's a lot calmer now because we just shot the stranger things five by seven. And then we shot the finale to heated run. And I rewatched five nights and Freddy's at like four in the morning. This is going to be. I'm ready, man. The cherry on top of a fantastic Christmas. Let's go, baby.
Starting point is 00:01:29 we look at this hit play let's go we're back I am excited welcome mic check one too that's charming cheeky are you ready to start the show
Starting point is 00:01:51 are you ready to start the show Tarantino is there as a kid that's why he hates Matthew Liller yeah I don't care for the this announcer. Big surprise. Look at that shine. Samir was the universal logo more pristine
Starting point is 00:02:07 than usual. It's just good quality, man. Three, two, one. One. Must suck to be the Blumhouse production that doesn't make the bumper. The 80s,
Starting point is 00:02:22 the historically best decade on earth. Especially movie-wise and show-wise. Oh my god, oh my god, so many easter eggs. Oh, candy fishing. Oh, I want to ride these little boats. Those guys are going to be fun to hang out with later. I really had a lot of the lore more fresh in my head when we watched the first one. Now I mainly just remember the first one.
Starting point is 00:02:45 I did a deep dive that time. Yeah, I did. And I did play, like, I did get a switch to play five nights. I have played some, but like, you know, playing the game and understanding the lore are kind of different in some ways. I'm ready to take it in, man. Yeah. She does this every time she's here. Come on.
Starting point is 00:03:01 That's her special interest. Let her have this. You look like someone who could use a Freddie Fas Cola. The official drink of juggalo's in this universe. Is that Vanessa? It tastes like gasoline.
Starting point is 00:03:13 Gasoline. It doesn't come out for a while. Why don't you come back to the table and hang out with us? They don't want me there. No one does. That's not true. You just got a bad roll of the dice.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Things look better. What a way to put that. She's the only one I can rely on. She's the only one is always here for me. She become one of the animatronics? Down there, isn't your spirit parent or whatever you think it is? And it'll still be there, even if you go have a piece of cake first. Aw.
Starting point is 00:03:40 You're a real one. They should create this place and make it open to the public. This would do really well. It would. Ironically. Despite the twisted lore. If you could make it a slightly horror place, too. My God, he's moving like a cybor.
Starting point is 00:03:59 Ew. Ew. That was creepy in an additional way. Oh. Don't tell your parents. Go tell your parents. Jesus. What a shit dad.
Starting point is 00:04:12 What a shitty dad. Not right now. Not right now. What the hell's wrong with you guys? This is insane. Help me. Adults are talking. This is insane.
Starting point is 00:04:23 Who are you adults? Is this what 80s parents were like? Don't. They're all on... That's why. Excuse me, I'm not getting with your uncle right now. Yeah. We're about to snorick a fat rail.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Get out of here, kid. This is acceptable behavior. I'll gladly brush off any child that need... Should be helping. I'm kidding. This is... It's worse than the Stephen King Universe bullies. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Ugh. Oh, that's horrible. hide from the velociraptor i know always oh he knows you're there yeah he's playing with his food it's pretty bold to snatch a kid like this one all these parents and stuff right here they don't clearly this is the best place to do that oh no can't start making noise Grabbing a knife and everything Nice
Starting point is 00:05:28 Nice Wow, wow, that's fun Oh, this feels more classic Well, and this is a good Tension setter It's hard to carry somebody She was so close Oh no
Starting point is 00:05:47 No, no, now you're in the show. Oh, no. This is fascinating. I wouldn't move. Whoa. Wow. What did you do? What did you do to him?
Starting point is 00:06:02 Oh, no, the trapdoor. No, your friend. Oh, God. Someone grabbed the girl. Oh, no. Whoa. That is freaky. Oh, yeah, so she must become one of the spirits.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Wouldn't the remains have to be inside of the animatron? Oh, stuffer in. Oh, no, Mr. Marionette. No. Do they just think it's a show? This is why you could never open one for real. As if anything goes wrong, people are going to assume it's a show. That is quite a striking image, though.
Starting point is 00:06:42 Wow. Ah, fun. Josh. I don't, we watched a trailer for this did we not? I don't remember. I don't remember what's in it. Mechanic Grace is added to the cast She's everywhere. Skeet-O-Ritch! That's right. That's right.
Starting point is 00:07:00 They're both in this. Oh, especially the marionette. Dim-Dib-Dim-Dim-Dim-Dim-D. Oh, damn, this is all refined visuals. Love Pizzeria. reopen. Oh, that's right. That's the same director, right? I think so. That is definitely a real photograph. I like the match could. She looks like she's a drift in an ocean. Hello? Mike. Did I wake you up? Yes, you did, but a rough night. Bad dreams again, or? He's got
Starting point is 00:07:37 home. He's fixing up the insidious house. How is your day going, happy after school? Not yet. She's around here somewhere. Jeremiah is on the way over to help me keep painting the new house. She's a little taller. I just wanted to see if we were still good for dinner later. Oh, are they dating now? It'll be good to get out. Yeah, I got to run, but I'll see you later then. Okay, bye.
Starting point is 00:07:59 Did he dye his hair? Seems like it. So have you kissed her yet? No, apps, it's not like that. We're just friends. Sure. That's what they all say. It's not a date.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Then why can't I come along? Because you can't. It's the rules. It's the law. She's a cop. Habityville horror Oh, is he He was the same guy
Starting point is 00:08:22 He was talking with the dream book about In the first movie, I think, right? Did Josh Hutcherson have to do a role Where he bleached his hair just before this? I have no idea, man It's kind of how it feels Strikingly black It's not a date
Starting point is 00:08:34 It's an interview A couple of adults Having dinner together, you know? Bro. She's got crazy ass, Mike. She's not crazy, okay? She's got villainized. Ever since your aunt went around
Starting point is 00:08:46 Telling stories about killer teddy bears The whole damn town's loss is mine Oh, they're embracing it You know what? Why don't we just keep it between you and me That Abby's even related to her? She doesn't like that kind of attention So then she could try to shove me into a spring walk soon Luckily Vanessa saved me
Starting point is 00:09:02 But then the yellow rabbit came And he attacked us I'd like that she's just spewing this It's so opposite of normal what you'd do in a horror sequel One is fun, it has its own internal lore now Want to sit with us at lunch? Yeah. Hey!
Starting point is 00:09:19 Sure. It's the reverse of the opening scene. Are you ever going to go back to Freddy's, I mean? I would, but my friends, the animatronics are broken. This kid doesn't take his eyes off her. Mike says that he'll fix him someday, but he's been saying that for a while now. Yeah, who knows when that day will come. Do you actually believe anything I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:09:37 I believe in UFOs and ghosts. Let's go, kid. Why not haunted animatronics? Dude, this kid is giving in barric. kid vibes a little bit he has really inquisitive eyes
Starting point is 00:09:49 there he is a robot's presentation at the science fair is this Saturday of robotics presentation
Starting point is 00:09:56 she's in the robotics class I fucking love it Freddy Fest actually it's fast fest
Starting point is 00:10:04 fast it's a right it's a mockery of everything that true robotic stands for
Starting point is 00:10:10 we're making real robots he's a robotic fanatic every one of you to be at that
Starting point is 00:10:15 science Fair on Saturday, whether you're entering or not. It's cool of them to directly acknowledge the beef between the Five Nights of Freddy's community and the robotics community. Don't waste your time. Let's get to work. You, sir, R. F for... I mean, having these skills are probably coming handy for her in some way.
Starting point is 00:10:35 She can ingratiate herself to them by being their doctor. You're planning on showing whatever this is. Saturday at the science fair. Certainly, I don't have to remind. you how important this event is to the school three-year winning streak jesus i don't think you will be ready robotics isn't for everyone wow taking a seat for the good of the team nah dude nah you're you're trying to shut some shit down for a reason otters ought to help each otter hatter be a good little otter oh this sucks man you're dead
Starting point is 00:11:14 I mean, having him be the Soul Rider does make it elicit more of the vibe though. Like, really, the dialogue and the overall, like... I'm surprised you haven't tried to fix your friends yourself. Punched up tone. Yeah. Like the mean personality spirit.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Abbs, is that you? Yeah. Perfect timing. You want to do this for me? You're hopeless. Abbe. How's your day? Pacing-wise you could feel it. Anything exciting happened? Not really. Boy, come on. What would you do without me?
Starting point is 00:11:42 She is very charming You can order pizza You remember From anywhere but Freddy's Of course I'm 11 I'm not a baby Eleven
Starting point is 00:11:52 This is Anything else You need for I go You're watching TV or what Maybe I could Go see my friends You know which friends You know which one
Starting point is 00:12:03 You know which one I meant Chica Just have this conversation In front of the mirror Because it's conflicting You can't go back there They're broken But you can fix them now
Starting point is 00:12:12 I'm going to go fix them, but until then, maybe you could try making some friends with some real kids. My friends are real kids. They're just incorporeal at the moment. I mean, yeah, she's able to go to this robotic class and do all this shit. Oh, my God, McHenna. This is just like Shelby Oaks. It's complicated, but we can talk about it later. I have to go.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Yeah. I want a list of all the in-universe paranormal investigation shows across all these various media. Don't watch too much of that show. We'll give you nightmares, okay? We'll be back later. I mean, at least give us another McKenna Grace cameo. I imagine she's going to come to town and want to go check out Freddy's. Got to be.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Damn, this lighting is looking. Did they get the, like, the DP of Flanagan shows? Because it's starting to look like Michael Flan. It's looking like a Mike Flanagan. Yeah, the cinematography, specifically the lighting choices are looking like a Mike Flanagan movie. Yeah, it does. It definitely does. Wow.
Starting point is 00:13:12 what is that called even a little tablecloth break shot makes it like he's um he's out of his element so this is what it's like being normal is that are we we're normal now this is just a friend thing right a trauma bonding man I mean didn't you you signed up for like like biking classes right or spin class yeah yeah very different okay same same motion though
Starting point is 00:13:35 it's that like he's enamored with her Oh, let me get that. So what the hell? This is his quirk. This is the... They love doing that here. That's the one guy's job.
Starting point is 00:13:50 You look great. Is it a real thing? From a real restaurant? I've never seen it. Not at the Olive Garden. I go. No. Not a chilis.
Starting point is 00:14:01 He said this is a date, Ella. This is a lovely day, a day. Today's been a great day. Oh, she wants you to think it's a date. Abby tie that for you. She did. How is she? She's good
Starting point is 00:14:12 Well, some days are good Some days she She didn't Did he tired of himself? She kind of helped I remember We were in that scene together Friends
Starting point is 00:14:20 And I don't know how to talk to her about it I'm so sleep deprived I feel like I'm in a dream right now John Don't worry I'll keep us grounded This is I'm really Really lost in this movie right now
Starting point is 00:14:32 She's like a dream It's okay Yeah Nothing I do like their awkward tension here It's charming in a way. So you want to...
Starting point is 00:14:42 It's like they're feigning normalcy here. It's always the same. We don't need to talk about that. You're dead. Oh. You remember how I would use my dreams to confirm what happened with Garrett? I mean, I admit I probably slept a bit too much. Yeah, too many sleeping pills.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Damn, the background's just becoming more and more blurred. I'm very caught up in just how lovely the photography is. Yeah, it's beautiful. Yeah, it's beautiful. Until you deal with some of the mess you left in your head. Is it a weird date? I just, I want us to be able to move past all of this. You can do it.
Starting point is 00:15:13 You can do it. Just once. Yeah. You're Vanessa Afton. Hey, he's being encouraging, man. You didn't. Going to the pizzeria? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:25 Going to fix my friends. Going to fix my friend. That was like a glasses test. Number one, number two. Number three and four. Let me get a little closer and I'll start trying. As much as I do want to be like, you didn't see that big sign. the door. I'm like the amount of times I have looked right past
Starting point is 00:15:41 just very obvious signs. I'm like fair enough. When you're in your own day. But it's still feeling like a ghost story? Like they've kept this kind of like dreary blue palette. At Fandwell Casino, you get even more ways to

Like, you know these people are here. Create a more final spiritual rest for them. Hey. I have them sorry I didn't know how to tell you where are they yeah they like I mean there's pieces of them here pieces of them there you know that's not what I mean where are my friends where are their souls I don't know you know maybe we're not gonna be at the pizzeria for them there are a lot of other locations we got Laura to cover I would like that
Starting point is 00:16:58 we're doing a little bit too much character and plot for my taste let's get some Laura right that's why I don't see my friends like they're all right here I'm gonna go go put on the television now. Yeah, it's a little cheesy. It's extremely cheesy. All right, all right. Dude, it's like the cheese on the Freddie Fasbear's cheese pizza. Okay, young lady, you have one million tickets. What can I get you?
Starting point is 00:17:23 Do you want some, uh, oh, what about orange gummy candies? How old are those? No? Okay. Oh. Liding up. It's sliding up. Oh.
Starting point is 00:17:36 I'm not going to be your Easter egg guy. I'm just letting you guys. know that I bet there's an Easter egg but I bet that was an Easter egg there's a Chica mask back there realistic voice interaction device talk to us anytime so what you want oh my yeah talk to us anytime sold one million tickets let's go home he is very charming I thought you liked orange gummy candy well I did until I ate that whole bag of Christmas she's almost as tall as him now that's crazy oh my god this will be like
Starting point is 00:18:08 a twisted version of toy story five five specifically huh yeah well you know because they've got the the you know tech device and now she's got a portable friend huh freddie's his murder want to know more it's not those ghost people is it's a cool couple of establishing shots yeah that was cool to have the reflection there then soon pass and stead center kind of grace man Oh, and from Tio Brioni's from Chucky. Mike. I don't care who he is, as long as we have permission. Oh, you're right.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Dude. Yeah, there. And this is meta because of Ghostbusters now. Look at that. She is so much older now. It is fascinating. Like, we've got... Or weren't they all in Hillhouse?
Starting point is 00:19:00 Like, a bunch of the Hillhouse kids have all, like, grown up on screen in a very vivid way. In a way that, like, isn't very common. It seems like they're, at least a couple of them were transitioning into adult stardom. I used to come here when I was a kid. Not this one, you didn't. You're thinking of the franchise location. Franchise?
Starting point is 00:19:19 Just like how this is becoming a big franchise? It's the original. Oh, it's like going to the original in and out. This location came before the other one. So what happened here? That would mean, yes, because it's the original. Little girl got murdered. The whole thing got swept under the rug.
Starting point is 00:19:34 We're going to find that rug. Ah, wow, that actually's gonna shabby. It's Michael, actually. See a ghost? I have no idea. I'm a Michael Jackson impersonator on weekends. His parted hair. Everything about him.
Starting point is 00:19:52 He's got a crisping glover thing going on. Are you ready for the tour? This guy. Way too creepy. I wonder if this guy just looks normal. Show me his headshot. Yeah. Mike, are you cursed with looking creepy all ways.
Starting point is 00:20:05 and you got this role that way or He looks like he could probably be a He's got a Jack Nicholson thing with his eyes A little bit, yeah You're cool for your court everything? Of course. That's why you're here, isn't it? You don't need to sign anything to...
Starting point is 00:20:17 I think this one moves at a much more fun pace. Yeah, this one was way more fun. This restaurant had a lot of unique features. Like the marionette. Is this like Jim Carrey's secret kid? You did your homework. Yeah, the marionette truly was one of a kind. What's the marionette?
Starting point is 00:20:32 They said kids especially missed them. Were you there that day? The marionette would come out of this trap door on the stage and direct the other animatronics during performances. That's right. The technology was way ahead of its time, but they never made another one. Were you the child that was saved? Shall we? Oh, that would be a cool thing to do.
Starting point is 00:20:50 I don't remember if the child that was saved was a boy or a girl. Then again, they could do like a twist, and it was just a girl with a pixie cut. Nah, you look like a victim. This guy reads victim. This guy reads, my mom left me there after I was discovered. And I grew up in here, just alone. Despite being very happy to have me back, she went back to her convo. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Oh, no, careful. You guys, they look brand new. Even if you don't believe, you've got to be careful. What about Foxy? Foxy was involved in a failed, take apart, put back together attraction, and it was never quite the same again. Take apart, put back together. It's going to be so heartless. I like the energy this guy rings.
Starting point is 00:21:37 Yeah. He's a nice injection. I like watching this guy for sure. You guys hear that? Oh. It's like music. Fair warning. This place will prey on your imagination if you let it.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Should we continue? I'm going to catch up to you guys. I don't know. He looks like a Nicholson. He does. Mikey boy. Let's get the show on the road and burn a valuable tape here. You're, oh yeah, it is the 80s right.
Starting point is 00:22:02 You are. Wait. No, it's not. Not the 80s. No, these are the prologgers in the 80s were in the modern times. Why are you running out of tape, dude?
Starting point is 00:22:10 The Scott has not been in touch with modern technology for a long time. Tate, you don't have to ever run out anymore. You can record infinitely. That's the new problem. Come on. I know, I know, I know.
Starting point is 00:22:26 Mountain out of a nothing molehill. These, these almost feel like. What city are they in? Did they say what city? Oh, I forget. They're in Fazzachusetts. Oh, he's getting EMF readings. Oh, yes, that's right.
Starting point is 00:22:44 And EVPs and other things. Not bad. Good motifs. Love the boat ride motif. Whoa, yeah. These little guys look. That was a very natural response. Very fun.
Starting point is 00:23:01 What kind of give him a water comes? Me. Usually we gotta play it up, you know. Oh, I know. Oh, I can't tell if he's completely scared or if he's kind of feeding them. He at least seems like he communes with this environment and knows what it is.
Starting point is 00:23:22 She looks like Mithrigan. Well, I bet they made Mithrigan look like her. No, I don't think so. Although I guess that's how you rebranded into adulthood. We'll open it up. Yeah, make a wish. But you're closer. Give us that trailer shot.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Spooky. Oh, and just hearing the sound of the gears is fun. It looks like a good scream shot. It was a good trailer moment. I did not hit her What is you do? Oh, he is feeding the kiddos. Oh, Lisa, Lisa, I'm coming, where are you?
Starting point is 00:24:15 Whoa, whoa, whoa! Damn! Cool! Is this a take apart, puts it back together attraction? Yeah, that's cool. I love a good camcorder shot. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree. You find her.
Starting point is 00:24:33 oh i'm rooting for you man i know i thought you'd be the first they'll go they look they remind me in their design of like little miazaki things i love that too just you get out of the water man you're capable of getting out of that water man yeah it's not that i'm like Get out. Witches were. Oh, hey, that. No.
Starting point is 00:25:02 Oh, yes. Oh, yeah. Yeah. And the board and the water shot. Good. That was fun. You know what? This is so much more fun.
Starting point is 00:25:11 It is this movie's game to lose at this point because I am having fun and I'm engrossed in the segue into more lore. So, like, yeah. This is so much more fun than the last one. It's your game to lose now. Oh my god, what the fuck is going on here? Is she being like assimilated by one of their spirits? Possessed? She is being possessed.
Starting point is 00:25:38 Ew. Oh. I've gone too far. Yeah. This is beyond my... Ew! Oh! Whoa!
Starting point is 00:25:50 That is very scary. Ew. That's sicky. That's gross. that's unsettling I like it welcome back Charlotte you creeper
Starting point is 00:26:03 we have watched primarily dramatic gay content today so this is a real whiplash yes it is we've gone through a lot of really tearful
Starting point is 00:26:17 cathartic journeys but this might be the most tearful and cathartic of them all I am like I feel like I'm in a dream right now Honestly. Who knows, though? Maybe Michael, who we just met, will have his own gay romance by the time this movie's done. He's never too late.
Starting point is 00:26:32 Hello? Can you guys hear me? But after, like, just watching the first one, like, 12 hours ago. Can you hear me? I think the pacing is so much stronger, and... It's just like, when I saw the critics score, I was so surprised. I'm like, how can this be worse? And I'm like, this is... Personally, I'm enjoying this way more.
Starting point is 00:26:52 It's way easier to enjoy. Yeah. It's got punch, it's got snaves, got personality, and the dialogue. It's like, it's like like cuts to you know. It's easier for us normies. This is the most ominous look in cycling class I've ever seen. It's a commentary on how wholesome machinery used to be and how technical, like how, how oppressive it is now in our technologically driven society. I would never, this is so like creepily lit in here.
Starting point is 00:27:22 Ew. Oh, no. Fasha. So she, okay, I see. So you can't go anywhere because you're having the visions. Okay, she's hallucinated. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:27:36 Oh, we're going to do some scream six shit, five or whichever one where she's seeing Skied Ulrich. You're spitting too fast. Yeah. Burn more calories. But when it cuts to the wide shot, she's not going as fast as she's going. Oh, my.
Starting point is 00:27:54 I like the editing of that. Oh, my God, what the fuck? Whoa. Whoa. Oh, my God. Oh, what is then a smart choice to have her be all? Yeah. This serves.
Starting point is 00:28:17 Like, she's so much more interesting than, like, a mysterious stoic cop character. Now that we can actually know her backstory and we could do something kind of fun with her character. We can get into a perspective. Yeah. Dubwoman, you know, it's more fun. I mean, you know, it's well-troddened horror territory, but while we're here, you know. But haunted by her father, who was like this prolific killer. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:43 It makes sense, and she, like, hid his secret for so long. You can do this. You can do it. You can do this. Peloton from home I don't know how you do it man I am I feel like these days I am super sleepy
Starting point is 00:29:00 and never can fall to sleep I know and these characters no matter what state they're like I can fall asleep yeah let's go for it nice just as it's getting hypnotic in the scene
Starting point is 00:29:17 yeah yes and she's well adjusted here I think they haven't for like a lot of the departments are having fun here with the sound the design more though the flare that I wanted the first one to be and the white noise is your tether dad do who what a smart way to get more matthew little too i don't need you anymore oh yeah i am nothing like you Whoa, whoa, cool effect. That was really well done.
Starting point is 00:29:57 This is very cool. And the usage of him as this like entity that haunts in her mind or potentially ghosts. It's actually scary. You can't keep me here. I'm leaving. Don't you know you're my favorite? Yeah. Don't you know that I care about you?
Starting point is 00:30:18 Wow. I love where they angle that too. Yeah. Everything in the way how they're angle in him just feels off. Oh, oh, cool. Did they do some trickery with the... Cool. It felt like she almost morphed when she turned the corner. Oh, great pool.
Starting point is 00:30:40 Get that dolly zoom. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Yeah, they got some like sinister close-ups. close-ups. All the close-ups constantly feel like a P-O-V. It's somewhere between like flashback,
Starting point is 00:31:01 current spiritual torment, dream. Oh shit, that's a big one. Can't pull the name. It's a big one. Yeah. This is the oh shit moment where you all comment the name we should be saying. He made him specially for you, made her especially for you. Oh, he's a cop.
Starting point is 00:31:28 Became a cop so you could, yeah. Trying to make up for this. Oh, awesome. This is a really cool sequence and a great... Great dream sequence. Outtounding on this character. Like, holy shit. You shall always be mine.
Starting point is 00:31:43 That everything she's done is to, like, curate a way to make up or a tone, get away from him. Yeah. But it never worked. And yet you still want that love of your father. Yeah. And all of that being tied up together. Always haunt you and then to cut to her as a way to say like she might be going down some type of path of not exactly similar, but. She's tied up in this web of traumas.
Starting point is 00:32:07 Yeah. They're spelling Abby. Oh. Oh, it's like speak and spell. Chica, is that you? Yes. Please help us. Where are you?
Starting point is 00:32:19 Come fine. me how I will show you the way and we'll follow yeah oh nice synth flourish
Starting point is 00:32:31 he's sleeping these hard lights it's a reference to the first movie it's a reference yeah he's sleeping all that time yeah seems like a baby
Starting point is 00:32:40 is like growth I like that that's a subplut too I like that Josh Hutcherson's just out here kind of getting to live or at least sleep Oh, what a great, like, tilted angle. We're all at the OG. Come on, just once.
Starting point is 00:33:00 Just give me a Nicholas Cage drives by in the background. Just tie the universes together, please. So how far away is the OG from where you reside? I was going to say, it must not be that far, you know? It's like the original in and out isn't super far from where we are, even though it's like, you know, a couple hours away. All things I understand through the in and out paradigm Without breaking a sweat
Starting point is 00:33:26 That's true, it must be like right around the corner Well, you got franchise locally, you know Bonnie Oh, that's party Abby, you've come back to us Chica Aw I missed you so much
Starting point is 00:33:44 I missed you too How did you get this new body Do you like it? Emphatic blinks. Different. And I did a caloric cut for six months. It's a commentary on our relationship with artificial intelligence and not having it at a school or real connection. It's a commentary on artificial intelligence the way it intermingles with our inherent need for nostalgic comfort in life and the way we cling to the things of our child.
Starting point is 00:34:18 to fill the emotional voids left by the people around us yeah you know what everyone says about artificial mirrors duality every mirror a symbol every mirror is a symbol in this world Abby
Starting point is 00:34:34 it's the remix actually surprised she didn't take it oh yeah she's back that makes more sense That's a bitch move. That's a messed up move, homie. Getting breakfast.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Who said you were playing hide and seek? Yeah. You know, one time I did that to my dad. You fucking elbowed me right in the face. Oh, no. And I never did to my dad again. He reacted. He was ready.
Starting point is 00:35:05 Bend his life. He's fucking like 10 years old. I learned. I learned. Never fucking do that again to my dad. It's got a play area for little kids and even a river. Wait, a river As I'm back
Starting point is 00:35:20 Breakfast Was it a lazy river? It's so smart to make her More of a main character this time And I like the inverse Yeah, totally Banana and blueberry What is happening with these lenses?
Starting point is 00:35:39 I can't tell if it's just the angling of the camera If they have like a weird focus thing happening I can't tell if it's like a digital camera That's just going to like an auto focus someone forgot we need to talk i know you're in love with me right i'm in love with you too very casual she said she saw them she said she went somewhere you know Vanessa i've i've been trying really hard to to move forward i know listen how can i move forward when it's one thing after another help me bro i hear you i do it's just what abby's just a kid and right now she's
Starting point is 00:36:17 hurting she's she misses her friends and there's nothing that I can do to help her the same way that I couldn't help Garrett oh boy or the other kids you got to watch your tone homie charlotte you how do you her dad made that flyer and so I called him told me about his little girl and her best friend Vanessa oh yeah oh damn do what you tell me there were other victims other kids my father was a monster you know that all I'm trying to do is I'm trying to fix my family interesting I'm trying to situation i'm trying to fix you and i don't you need like i'm trying to fix you bad choice of words dude no no you fix them in secret is they don't know cool it chris
Starting point is 00:37:02 martin slow your roll you know what i can take care of myself you just need to watch out for abby yeah shit josh hutcherson is really good at just like throwing it away in like the actor way I think Josh Hutcherson is a really good actor. I liked his performance a lot in the last movie. He's good at being understated. He's really good in the show I love Ellie. You're not coming? Yeah, I'm coming.
Starting point is 00:37:27 I said to go do something real quick, but I'll be back before it starts. It'll be too long, though. Hey, you're going to do great. Oh, he's going to be. Well, and too, it's like I kind of, again, I like that they're allowing him to somehow live off screen. It makes sense the way they've kept him around, but not too much. And to have all these multiple locations.
Starting point is 00:37:46 It's actually making it feel bigger even though part of the appeal of five nights is that it would all be like here Yeah for a sequel advancement. They're using it in a way that does make it feel like more threatening and something's building Unlike the last thing the last one, I didn't feel like anything was building and this feels like there's a threat coming. Yeah, it's a Toof Say hey. You need therapy You need to talk to a psychologist Who will not commit you for talking about ghosts and shit? You need to talk to an animatronic therapist
Starting point is 00:38:22 Yeah, you need to talk to a therapist who will also believe in ghosts and stuff Cool Wow That is like genuinely creepy dude Yeah, that is actually creepy And it has this like infinity hole kind of quality about it. Are you here to put me back to sleep?
Starting point is 00:38:48 I know what you want. Oh, Charlotte wants revenge. I'm here to wake you up. No, put me back in. Pandora. It's called a perimeter lock. None of the animatronics can leave. Not even you.
Starting point is 00:39:01 Perimeter lock. Are you not American? Are you a secret Australian? Are you a secret Australian? I don't hate you. Could catch on that. You need to stay out of my way. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:39:14 her performance. Oh, that design is creepy as shit, dude. It's great, yeah. Mars attacks. Well, I'm like, I'm like, they'd probably just have a stunt person
Starting point is 00:39:23 doing that now, but I'm like, McKenna Grace probably gets to appear as though she's in way more of this movie than she probably actually was. Start off on the 80s and then have a new, it justifies the new score too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:35 And it also would the embrace, because we're also acknowledging that it's really a ghost story, taking this since score. I said feel more grounded back into the robotic world. Yeah, so. I thought you decided not to participate. Ah!
Starting point is 00:39:51 No, it's not. Look, I sit up over there. Look, I just don't want you to be embarrassed. Abby. Who the fuck? Are you? Who are you? You're the worst teacher.
Starting point is 00:40:02 You're not a power. No power of it. Just find. I know you hate being here. I know they didn't. Oh. I know they didn't appreciate your brilliance back at Princeton or whatever, but like... I'll give you full credit for the class.
Starting point is 00:40:19 And this way... If you get in your car and just to run you asshole. Take out this trash. You suck. Does he have some ulterior? Like, does he... Is he trying to protect her in some genuine way? Such a...
Starting point is 00:40:32 Mr. Bird? Who said that? Everyone thought it. That's what counts. I feel like he's got to be, like, in a genuine way trying to protect her in some really... careless way. I'm going to spend a lot of time pondering the motivations
Starting point is 00:40:50 Mr. Burke. I hope we never get a definitive answer. He destroyed my science for a project. I'll be your science project. Whoa. Oh, God. Oh, wow. That's crazy. Let me out of here. Take me.
Starting point is 00:41:05 I need you to do something for me. I like how she paused and had the idea. Like it wasn't her plan this whole time but she's like not to get out this way oh behind see that there's something behind there's a secret code that will let me come with you ha ha ha nice going through the this is where the game this is where you play the game okay the animatronics do feel more real this time too I remember that being a thing from the first movie being like you got all this practical shit that doesn't look real
Starting point is 00:41:42 Oh Oh Oh You don't give me the commander release the perimeter lock Ew I will kill her Shiley Listen to me here I know you're angry but it's not Abby's fault
Starting point is 00:41:59 It feels like Jhorror shit dude That's like I think it's creepy me that Yeah And the little munchkins in the hallway Yeah Her and them like the marionette stuff all feels like Jay, Jap There's something about Japanese lore that like particularly scares the shit out of me.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Sure. Well, because like ghost stories too in that context are like really chilling and desolate. Four. Oh my god. A. CD. CD-ROM. Enter.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Oh, boy. Are we crazy? I think this is like significantly better. I'm really enjoying myself. Yeah. I'm having a good time. I'm not like to, I don't have enough time to think about my nitpicks because I'm in it. Whoa, whoa.
Starting point is 00:42:56 Liberated. We are free. I love that this machine just by design has to deliver things in an upbeat intonation. We better hurry if we want to get to the science fair in time. Hell yeah. Oh man. Another taxi shot. Another weird taxi P-OV.
Starting point is 00:43:22 Yes. Get another weird taxi P-O-Vee. Come on, show over the car. This poor guy. Show over the car. Show the reverse shot. Oh, you know they will. Yes.
Starting point is 00:43:35 Yes. Oh. Oh, my goodness. Oh my goodness. Thank you. Your eyes are still black. You're still black sclera. You could live off this cameo career for the rest of your life.
Starting point is 00:43:56 Yeah, yeah, dude. I will be happy to see you in a five nights movie every two years. Mike? Yeah, thanks for seeing me. Come on inside. That's what we should do. A top 10 most surprisingly not crappy movies of the year. Honestly, I was surprised.
Starting point is 00:44:11 to get your call and the calls i've gotten so far have been prank calls kids asking to order a pizza things like that he turned into benicio del tori he did oh my god i can't unsee it now oh no i don't know what i'm doing here really i just um i'm just looking for some answers i wasn't the best father i was obsessed by my work when i was younger and it eventually oh buddy cost me everything choked your including my little girl it's another thing to you the actors always show up
Starting point is 00:44:43 you know on the phone you said that Charlotte died at Freddy's certain it depends of the character yeah but like look at him he's fucking showed up
Starting point is 00:44:53 he's committed everyone called it an accident I had my suspicions about what it really happened but it wasn't until years later when those five children I knew she was murdered by him
Starting point is 00:45:04 oh boy Randy William Afton You can only assume that you lost someone as well. That's my little brother. I'm sorry for your loss. Oh, that's right. Stu's Jamie Kennedy.
Starting point is 00:45:16 Oh, wait. Oh, yeah. What's Stu? Stu. Randy. Scream guys. Billy, Stu. Guy.
Starting point is 00:45:24 No, you have me doubting myself. It's the river ride. It was one of Charlotte's favorites. I've been to Freddy's. There's not a river ride. There was only one at the first Freddy's. None of the later locations had one. Don't you know the lore?
Starting point is 00:45:38 After all this time, you haven't learned that there's more locations. Yeah, can I use your phone? Yeah, of course. It's over there. Do. And you're sure she isn't there? I'm so sorry, sir. Apparently, there was some sort of incident.
Starting point is 00:45:52 Are you a cameo? If you'd like, I can call it. Feels like some type of cameo. It feels very specific. What an asshole? Yeah, her. There's something about that performance and everything that just reads like a cameo. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:06 And I was excited to see her. Let me tell you. It's cool that they got her in here. We provided the reaction. Excellent. You were hoping we'd give it all that. Hell yeah. I never thought I'd see the day.
Starting point is 00:46:18 It's for Charlotte when she was just a baby. The music had helped her. Ah, music box. I know this might sound crazy, but if you go back there, I know that's a five nights of Freddy's thing for sure. It's the best I got to come true to that. You're killing it, dude. This is the experts react right now.
Starting point is 00:46:33 I'm going to spend the rest of the game just checking the security cameras in the studio. That's a genuine thing. Like, I know. They do that in the game. There's like an escalating plot, you know? Weirdly, as much as, yeah, like, there were elements of the first movie that certainly seemed a bit disjointed or strange. Like, I feel like they took all the stuff they were doing that first movie and just streamlined them to get. Like, instead of dropping things wholesale and kind of negating what they did, they're building on it well.
Starting point is 00:47:03 And I assume doing more Lauren's shit. Like, oh, yeah. Yeah. The OGs. Gang's all here. Ew. Damn. That's pretty fun that McKenna Grace agree to do this and primarily just get to be like a creepy ghost character.
Starting point is 00:47:26 This seems like the best version of like, oh yeah, maybe she just had some time and obviously a relationship with the studio. They're just like, hey, you want to come play? What's going on over here? Mr. Berg, this is my new science fair project. I built it today Mr. Byrd I've learned so much about you Is this a joke
Starting point is 00:47:46 Ms. Schmidt? What are you talking about? Bro. Putting someone in a suit and passing it off as your own work You're an embarrassment to our class
Starting point is 00:47:54 Oh, now he's being a total asshole Now take your freak show friend And get out of my science Open up some of the parts Before you lose us the title Oh, that's right They got the title to uphold
Starting point is 00:48:05 Three years in a row or whatever There's nothing to be sorry about. How about... Demonstrate your... Demonstrate your robo-ness. I just want to see what's going on inside of his head. Yeah. I just want to psychoanalyze this man.
Starting point is 00:48:23 It is so much more self-aware. Yeah. It is so much more. I love, like, the absurd view. Yeah, go to town. Show him that you're fully... a robot though. I want him
Starting point is 00:48:41 to know you're not just a human in a suit before the life leaves his eyes. It's like when he was escaping from that dinosaur in that dinosaur movie. Dude. I would like to talk to you about
Starting point is 00:49:01 Abby's project, Mr. Berg. Velasapaster. Yeah, I'll give her an egg. You want test answers? Oh, no, give me answers to the next test. Yeah, what do I have to bargain? She just wants to see inside your head.
Starting point is 00:49:20 Oh, no. What I want is to see what's going on inside of your head. Oh, my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God. We're about to moral combat this man. This PG-13, isn't it? Oh, my God. Okay, so we're just going to crush his head. I see, I see.
Starting point is 00:49:43 The blood splatter. To its credit. Nothing in there at all. I'll even say to the first movie's credit, too, is like, like, it has a vibe that it feels R-rated. Yeah. Even if it's not. It's not bad gateway horror in that way. Because, yeah, it's not.
Starting point is 00:50:01 Abby. This is mostly just fun with a few jumps. Oh, my goodness. I just saw the amatronics in a back room. No, those are just prototypes used for spare parts. It's Charlotte. She's behind everything. Charlotte. Abby might be in danger.
Starting point is 00:50:26 We need to get to the security office. You think everyone's... You saw footage of Abby interacting and gave her a code and stuff. You know she's in danger. I know you don't want to, but you have to trust. me there's just one ghost here in the marionette sure then after she was killed I would sometimes still see her here do she seemed no stuck in the last emotion before she died is like the grudge in that way rage but there's this music box that kept her asleep
Starting point is 00:50:58 yeah this does feel like a very classic ghost story with some yeah you're in the way she's designed right now yeah this one in particular Put her to sleep at this music box, but something or someone broke it. Oh, but now you got a new one. Henry just gave me a music box. Ugh. Oh, no, it's happening. It was a bad idea.
Starting point is 00:51:21 Hurry. Open the box. Damn it, man. Immediately get out of the water. Get out of the water, dude. You are capable of getting out of the water. Get out of the water. Now.
Starting point is 00:51:33 I'm here. Now. Now. I don't know, we got to get the propeller, like, chopping up your, the heel or your shoe or whatever. Hey, a little cupcake, man. Good to see you. Abby thinks these animatronics are her friends, but they're not. They're being wirelessly controlled by the marionette, by Charlotte.
Starting point is 00:51:55 What does she want? Wirelessly by the marionette. My father killed her, but she doesn't blame him. She blames the parents. Yeah, doy. She's Jason. What does she want with my sister? It seems like the marionette needs something or someone to bond to in order to move around.
Starting point is 00:52:13 I'm afraid it might target Abby next. Well justified. There's four animatronics, and we don't know which one has Abby. It's got to be chika. Maybe go to the one with the school where everyone is, they're interacting. Did you say that the marionette controls them wirelessly? Yeah. Yeah, why?
Starting point is 00:52:27 We can tap into the marionette mainframe. We're going to town, find Charlotte, and just try to buy me as much time as you can, and I'll try to disconnect the signal from here. Okay, here. we can use these while you're stuck here it seems kind of fake to me don't be rude are these guys came here it looks like a toy is all hey we're on the way to the costume punch it looks like cg i're us these feel like you want to come youtubeers that right on right on oh no it's reminding her of the past oh no oh no
Starting point is 00:53:05 I'm choosing not to think about the logic where they're just like, you brought this animatronic, we're not going to probe this any further. First prize. It's a shit. It feels like a video game. Activating prototypes. Let's go. Cool.
Starting point is 00:53:30 Wow, it looks massive. Oh, these are so eerie. Oh, the way they're framing it looks so good. This is sick. Well, and most of these shots, maybe they're doing it to be like, see, we put the camera in the room. I located the first tracker. Ready is at 175 West Elm. Can you get there?
Starting point is 00:53:46 Copy that. I'm close. Elm Street. Ah, that's definitely intentional, huh? It was actually by accident. Oh, nice. How'd you do that? This is what I mean.
Starting point is 00:53:58 If you can be this fun, you can ignore logic. Yeah. And then you can dump all the lore on me that you want. Yeah, I don't give a shit. This is a fun time. How is there not a door? Come on, make this, make this like the Doom movie that I never saw.
Starting point is 00:54:15 Oh, that's funny. You do the, do the mummy, do the Walking Dead, like, just cover yourself in animatronic bits and hope that that works. Didn't we already do that? No. We did not do that. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:54:34 Freddy P.O. Oh, no. Or, uh, anemotropi, these random families. I am now concerned about them. Yes. Because she is a loving mother. Oh my God. How?
Starting point is 00:54:46 Wow. Wow. Nice. That looks good. Yeah. Jesus. Whoa. Ouch.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Ouch. Ow. I'm so worried she's going to get possessed. The other jumpshares are done because, like, they cut to a shot, it's midway through the action already. Yeah. How you got in this far without getting killed by it already? Oh, my God. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:24 No shame in the game. I mean, thank, yeah, thankfully these things are big and clunky. Oh, that's a cool B.O.V. too. sells the heft of the animatronics for sure Oh throw the hot dog
Starting point is 00:55:43 throw it yeah damn knocking over the Elm Street sign oh creepy You left me to die What
Starting point is 00:55:56 What do we do All of you did Were they actually there is it Just all parents. It might be just all parents. Just, yeah, like the blind rage of an abandoned child. A baby snake.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Whoa. Way to kill two birds of one stone. Yeah. Is there anyone else inside of the house? Just us. Who are they? Us and them. Yeah, please.
Starting point is 00:56:27 Ha! He's cool. in the first person point of view. Huh? Huh? It's like squid game. They just scan your mask. I think as a kid, I would recognize this is extraordinary.
Starting point is 00:56:49 Ugh. Egh. Nicely done. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. What's this guy's name again? I'm a little lad who loves berries and cream. Ew.
Starting point is 00:57:12 Yeah, it's like a zombie movie. Bonnie, Cheka, Freddy. Okay, come on, Mike. Come on. Let's know I never. Ooh. Let's get that scene out of Halloween kills, where he's just testing knives out on this mom's,
Starting point is 00:57:31 body too slow she they what is what is bonnie bonnie is a lady i love the lack of rules to this movie when it goes to the end of itronics that oh oh god unsure foxy has no discerning eyes smart actually because Foxy already lost the one eye that forced the other eye to get that much more
Starting point is 00:58:05 you know keen parents are all the same and I have to punish them for that okay motivations oh hey that's a great command yes I'm sure
Starting point is 00:58:19 yes I'm sure that's so funny the thing yes I'm sure I wonder if they got that on and just decided to keep the line or something. I almost wonder if they would have cut back to that and for whatever reason in the editing. They're like, we can't, but keep the line.
Starting point is 00:58:41 Hey, the lawyer. Hey. Can they go with you? Of course. Well, that's fun. You know, it looks like you might be needing a good lawyer. Yeah. I don't think you were a very good lawyer.
Starting point is 00:58:54 Was he the real guy? Is he sick of got coughing? then you're the dot that's not possible where is it it's on my house the marionette I'm gonna head there right now showdown
Starting point is 00:59:06 I'm a marionette I'm a marionette pull the string look how peaceful she's been having the best day ever man she's having a great day she's having an amazing day
Starting point is 00:59:15 with her friend oh no I do think there's a little bit of a lack of parent kills I think that would have just added a little extra umf I think if yeah because you don't even have to show that
Starting point is 00:59:26 but just then again whoa chest burst uh oh uh oh oh oh oh yeah that's not good dude the the military should harness this technology
Starting point is 00:59:43 yeah it's really impressive the skill she has five nights of Freddy's three should be on a global military it should be world war freddies I don't even know if you're all still here but Abby needs you She cares about you. She doesn't stop. Did you bring vessels for them? Like you need...
Starting point is 01:00:02 If any of you ever really cared about her, you're going to help her right now. Do you. Give me a sign. Mike, are you there? My radiators busted. I don't know what to do. I can't... I can't get to Abbey.
Starting point is 01:00:13 Oh. Commandeer vehicle. You are the law. He's not just one scene this time. Hey. You need a ride? Dude, you have no idea. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:25 I feel. like we're going to end on some type of like something with her eyes like she's possessed or some shit so have the Marionette possession yeah in the last second it's me
Starting point is 01:00:40 happy oh I hate that I hate that I hate that the design of the marionette is legit is horrified and it's nice
Starting point is 01:00:55 because it's borrowing from a lot of traditions, but it's not a one-to-one to anything. Vanessa, the adults in your life are you too. They don't deserve your protection. You don't have to die with them. You can help me. No.
Starting point is 01:01:11 You really thought I'd forget the first rule of hide-and-seek? Always check behind the door. Oh, they set that up. Chekhov's hide-and-seek thing. Whoa. Whoa. Fun for this actor too To get to embody the marionette
Starting point is 01:01:27 And I love the way they're like framing them Because they look so huge Yeah There's like good lens tricks I've always wondered You got salad fingers Goes on inside of your head Oh that's your line
Starting point is 01:01:43 That's right Oh Oh you can kind of tell the Whatever the practical and the CG There was kind of funky Whoa, cool, nice use of that mirror. Don't close it. Leave it open. Just leave it open. Oh, man.
Starting point is 01:02:05 I don't know what happened. I feel sick. It's like the bag of orange gubern. See, Charlotte didn't crush her head because she's going to go inside her head. There's no escape. Oh, my God, dude. The friends, the ghosts. The ghost friends. Come on, friends. Override.
Starting point is 01:02:31 Teddy. Oh, Michael. Sis. So what the hell is going on? Let me guess. She never told you about me. We never said he didn't have. She didn't have a brother.
Starting point is 01:02:45 I'm Michael. Michael Afton. Oh, boy. I am so pleased to find me. Leave him alone, Michael. done anything wrong. I think our father might strongly disagree with that. Your father's dead.
Starting point is 01:02:58 You really believe that, yeah. But I'm here to continue his legacy. Just in time for Fast Fest. Just in time. Your aunt was the one who rekindled everyone's interesting. It's like Jack Nicholson and Killian Murphy. Yeah. With just a little Jim Carrey in there.
Starting point is 01:03:14 I mean, we're all just going to blend right in. We're all just going to blend right in. True that. Half of this town will be dead by morning You can't do this, this isn't a game Oh, you have no idea, Vanessa It's nothing but You can have a normal life
Starting point is 01:03:32 We can have a normal life You really think that? No You are his child You have a purpose Oh Ooh Will always be his No
Starting point is 01:03:46 It's an interesting crossroads It's about choice Yeah I am home Yeah I reject his shadow and Michael accepts it and the bird that comes with it
Starting point is 01:03:57 break their bones whoa crush them come on kids come on kids poppa's voice do do do do do all the yeah
Starting point is 01:04:12 yeah the OG oh g hey damn damn Whoa hell yeah yeah dude look that fuzz let that fuzz bear kill your multiversal selves yes not bad not bad this is how they get their gore in here I mean you know it makes
Starting point is 01:04:47 sense? Ride that Predator Badlands theory. Aubrey, you've been a very, very bad girl. Oh, see, you can sound angry. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:00 Ooh. Neat-o. Let's get a 10-minute fight scene. Change the frame rate. Little chick-on-chick fight scene, bro. Damn! Fatality.
Starting point is 01:05:14 At least Michael waited for the whole show. We think you're going, jackass. Yeah. My man. What's wrong with them? Maybe they've been held here too long. You think that's the case?
Starting point is 01:05:32 Are their memories fading? I mean, there's rules of them as ghosts in, and there's rules of them as actual animatronics. They weren't made to leave Freddy's. They're dying. We have to take them back. No, you can't die. Aw.
Starting point is 01:05:46 We're just. Moving on. Oh. We can't stay in those bodies anymore. Wow, that kid hasn't aged. Damn, dude. Are you going to heaven? See there someday?
Starting point is 01:05:56 Aww, that's very sweet. You should know that when we leave, I won't be able to hold him anymore. He'll get out, eventually. I'll be stronger than before. Fine as a supervisory. Goodbye. Oh. That it was like consumed by the suit and shit.
Starting point is 01:06:12 Come on. Hey. Stay away from us. Aw, after all that. Dude. I can't trust you. Mike. She just went through fucking hell for you.
Starting point is 01:06:25 Yeah, we at least, we at least talk about this. She went through hell and chose you over her brother. Yeah. Yeah. Let's see crazy eyes. Yeah. She got the grief. Oh, oh.
Starting point is 01:06:42 Oh, crazy assing coming. Yeah, where's that glow? Oh, no, oh no, oh no, oh no, yeah. Fucking called that shit. Yeah. Ooh, cool shot, though. That's cool. Oh, and the black mascara starts to bleed.
Starting point is 01:07:09 Round of applause. Master fucking piece is what we're. We call that shit. 2025, close it out, mic drop. We're done. Is this McKenna Grace? Is she a singer? Yeah, she had a song and it closed out the credits of Ghostbusters Afterlife.
Starting point is 01:07:27 I felt that movie. I actually like Frozen Empire more than Afterlife, honestly. Which is not a popular opinion. There's more nuance to that opinion than just that. I found Frozen Empire was a lot more. fun than I expected because everyone said it was terrible and afterlife we already have had this
Starting point is 01:07:48 convoy there's good stuff in there blah blah blah yada yada it's fine i've read ghost never leaves a haunted house all right it's weird to like that came across some comment that's like oh i'd never watch any of yours or gregg with him after his opinion on ghostbusters
Starting point is 01:08:04 afterlife i'm like holy shit let me do something from like three fucking years bro we're well past that now you skipped like Hundreds of videos... Well, you're clearly not capable of any other personal development or revolution beyond that point. In that opinion, let's see if... If you didn't love Ghostbusters afterlife for setting up a kind of new thing and then ultimately cowtowing directly to the original thing, you know, you can't grow. This black space for post-credit?
Starting point is 01:08:32 Yes. There it is. long thing here. Oh, fun. Who are these guys? Courage for three. Why couldn't we just make the props for the haunted house?
Starting point is 01:08:54 Come on. You can't take fast bear experience. You can't replicate. They're setting up everything. Ethan. Where are you? You got something? Ethan.
Starting point is 01:09:07 You got something? Yeah. I think I found one. I think I found a real one. What? What the hell? Yeah, we got to take this with us. Oh, my God, what is it?
Starting point is 01:09:17 Just show it to me! Oh, they'll show it under the plastic, right? Oh, is it spring strap? Is, yeah, is there a gooey friggin' lillard in there? Ew. Yeah. Ew. Let the eyes light up.
Starting point is 01:09:37 Oh. He's back. Fun. Fun. Fun! Fun! I love it. Fun was had.
Starting point is 01:09:55 What more do you want? Like, dialogues are playing. Oh. Leaving dead space. Three, two. Is that Skeed Ulrich? Sounds like. This message is intended as a warning.
Starting point is 01:10:11 Huh? Mike, I wish we should. We'd had more time after our conversation about Sharma. This is straight out of the game. Oh, my God. I can't deliver it in person. There are things you need to be aware of. What?
Starting point is 01:10:23 Was William Afton's business partner. Ah, shit. The equipment I have left over from that time is outdated. I can still track the animatronics. Mike, the Marionette. Get out as fast as you can. She's coming for you. Oh.
Starting point is 01:10:38 Oh. Marinette's out for revenge. So even though we didn't actually. actually get an on scream reunion we can still imagine in the past that Matthew Lillard and Skeed Ulrich were business partners and thus hung out together and we're friends you nailed that John dude scream reunion actually completed well ladies and gentlemen I want to think praper for any down these highlights guys have been absolutely incredible this year thank you dude you guys are the real animatronics in the way that you you guys are the real animatronics in the way

Yeah, ironically. And, yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:48 And, of course, get a tease, RejectNation Shop.com. That's where I was going with that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, sorry. Great way to support the Chanel. Get crap like this. You can get a discount. You can peer in on our shooting schedule day in and day out.
Starting point is 01:12:00 You can ask questions like the ones that are about to ensue for this. Now, normally we just like to give some opinions and then go into the review. Let's do the questions. I say we do the question because we read, We only got two this time. We did one shoot earlier that had, like, so many questions. And now we'll have two. This has been the wildest day.
Starting point is 01:12:21 Yeah, this is the one we were like, okay, I guess we're going to end it with this. But Jaden Rhodes' question, I think, perfectly encapsulates our experience. I watched this in the theaters just a few weeks ago. It was just a boring day. I wasn't expecting anything good, just wanted to go to the movies and walking out of the theater. I could not believe how much we're supposed. I got it. I'm watching the garbage of a movie. I'm loving this because this is how I thought we might feel.
Starting point is 01:12:50 It's been such a long day. But my question will be, how does it compare to the first one for all? I just couldn't believe how much worse the movie this was compared to the bad first movie. Honestly, I could not disagree more, Jaden. This is going to be the entire review. This was fun. This was a fun time. Yes.
Starting point is 01:13:12 leaps in logic absolutely um is it like a great film no it's not great however it's spooky it's silly you play a video game because you want to have fun and the last one i think was trying to be this hybrid of like independent horror cinema this is serious business and also we brought a bunch of that shit you kids love yeah and it didn't really feel like it had like a heartbeat to it and this one had a heartbeat to it and it was kind of creepy at times genuinely characters I feel like were better the spooky stuff
Starting point is 01:13:50 with the animatronics was better I just feel like overall this is I'm shocked because the the critics hated the first movie absolutely hated the first movie and then they hated this one even more
Starting point is 01:14:06 so I thought it would be more of the same like dreary slow tone and pace that the first one was attempting to be. And this one went the complete opposite direction in its approach. I think it's so opposite. As you watch them back to back, it is
Starting point is 01:14:22 a completely different vibe. So I'm surprised by how less people were on, like, what do you want at this point? This to me is exactly what I was hoping they would do. And it seemed like they took notes of what people complained about. And it
Starting point is 01:14:38 does seem like one of those things where I understand. I thought it would just be a case of, you know, of similar to the first movie where only the gaming people really liked it because they liked the game and they like the lore and they're just representing that. And you like seeing it translated. And to me, this was, I think as just people who don't really know the lore as a film market improvement, I would take this one over the first one any fucking day of the week, hands down. I had a really fun time with this. I was shocked by how good of a time we were having with this one.
Starting point is 01:15:12 You know, B, same. And, and certainly, like, this is the kind of movie that even despite critical panning or whatever, like, I'm always happy to have a, I'm always happy to approach with the, like, let's have a good time and see what happens. Definitely. But it is, like, really fun. Like, part of me is now, because of how bad the response was to this, part of me is going like, all right, what's wrong with me? But, like, at the same time, I think what's interesting here is because we do exist at a very,
Starting point is 01:15:39 and go with me on this. We exist at a weird convergence point between like we're kind of critics in a way because we want... Oh, you mean you and I?
Starting point is 01:15:47 Yeah. Oh, yeah, definitely. We watch a ton of stuff and we give a lot of opinions out and yada, yada, yada, yada, yada. So it can be easy to lump people like us in with like, oh, the critics,
Starting point is 01:15:55 you don't understand. But at the same time, we are not quite legitimate enough that we are lofty enough that we can't just enjoy tropes that are, you know, executed with some gusto or whatever. And we have submitted
Starting point is 01:16:08 for rotten tomatoes. Did we have not been approved? So existing on this borderline of legitimacy is fun because, you know, while, yeah, we could acknowledge all the things that, like, aren't necessarily, quote, remarkable about a movie like this. Yeah, like the experience of watching this as a horror movie fan as a person for whom, like, spooky chucky cheese is not a hard sell. Like, yeah, I thought the first movie, despite whatever blemishes, should have been more fun and enjoyable. And that's how you probably would invite more people into your lore.
Starting point is 01:16:39 yeah, I would wholeheartedly agree that it seems like they took some constructive criticism. Didn't, I'm happy to see, like, completely shed half the stuff they were trying to do. And, you know, this is a movie for which, you know, you get about three quarters of the way in. I was like, okay, I'm getting to the point where I'm ready to wrap this up. There are, like, things that drag here are there. But, like, by and large, uh, yeah, as like a, you know, streamlining of the thing and a broadening of the lore and this whole Charlotte character who wants to punish
Starting point is 01:17:09 the parents. I'm like, yeah, it's a spooky ghost story. There's enough motivation and there's a fun that I was having this time in going like, how would these animatronics? Exactly. They get into the taxi cabin and fucking weighs the whole thing down, but yeah, they're able to sneak up on everybody. And like that shit. They make such an emphasis on like cyber, but somehow they move at like an incredible flash like speed and then sneak up on people. I feel like gust of wind in the house, but where could that have? possibly have come from and that stuff to me where I'm like okay logic be damned this is a choice and I can I can give that to the filmmaker maybe I'm misinterpreting but I can give that to the
Starting point is 01:17:51 filmmakers because I think that it aggressively makes no sense in a way that is fun to me now definitely where I'm like yeah the fun is going oh well they're supernatural so they're spooky when they want to be spooky and they're stealthy when they don't want to be seen and fine and yeah the way that they at least manage from my taste to stream like line like you didn't lose Josh Hutcherson you didn't lose the Vanessa character but there's not like an over emphasis on trying to make this some kind of dramatic heavy you know emotionally fraught thing about like I failed my brother like they're they're able to keep all that stuff and we got to find out who Michael was because great like I'm excited to see him carry on some of this mantle
Starting point is 01:18:29 but uh but yeah this this took the weird disjointed like vignette quality the first movie had and I thought it assimilated it into itself better because like that whole thing where you at the nightmare sequence with Vanessa in the middle of the movie. I was just about to point out Vanessa, like, I actually, there's, I like Josh Hutcherson as, as an actor. I'm not like, I'm in love with his, my character. Yeah, I like watching him. And I'm not, like, in love with his character or rooting for him.
Starting point is 01:18:56 But in the last one, I really enjoy watching him, even though I'm, like, not really connected with the, with the character. Yeah. I really liked Vanessa. Yeah. I connected with Vanessa and they made something so interesting, like, is, like, is. Is it a cliche horror thing? Sure, but at least it's something that you can latch on to.
Starting point is 01:19:15 And she's doing a great job with the performance. Whoever this fucking actor is whose name I can. Let's pull up her name. Well, and she did a great job. Yeah, and to be tied to the William Afton character, obviously, and to Matthew Lillard, who people love Matthew Lillard. And, like, that was such a striking sequence. And that was a great moment to, again, there's a lot of stuff happening.
Starting point is 01:19:36 And obviously, this is Marionette. There's Charlotte. There's other things. but like he's always looming and again to you know it's like you start early on you get the ghost crew going and it still has that thing that I remember from the first movie which is a bunch of it almost feels like it should be an anthology but it made those elements flow better and I thought yeah shifting the focus more toward Vanessa made sense I was actually bummed at the end when Mike's like stay away from I know yeah and I was like what the fuck she went through all that
Starting point is 01:20:06 And there is a part of me that wants to argue, like, bro, she just helped save your ass, and she did, yeah, choose her path very evidently in front of you. But at the same time, I'm like, okay, cool, like a bittersweet moment to end off on. And I'm like, I care enough about Mike and Abby now that I'm like, a bummer, but also Vanessa, yeah. It does make sense now that we have taken our emotions out of the main character, because she didn't confess up about some of these other victims. Who knows how many other victims. Yeah. And then it led to this whole thing with Abby and putting her life in danger again. And then she didn't fess up about having a brother and her brother, yeah, being as he is.
Starting point is 01:20:43 I understand. In hindsight, more and more. I'm like, yes, that makes sense. And I love that the writers knew to do that because, like, we could be here on a complete opposite end. If he was like, come home with me, babe, I still like you. No. We were like, come on, man. She has a fucking brother.
Starting point is 01:20:58 He didn't tell her about it. And from her perspective, because one of the worst tropes in movies in general is the whole, like, why didn't you talk about this? And I thought they in the confines of this installment of Five Nines of Freddy's, I thought Vanessa's struggle in how to process
Starting point is 01:21:15 any of this being part of your life and then to communicate it to anybody else. Even though the movie doesn't make a huge deal out of that, there was enough and it felt authentic enough to where I believed the miscommunication. Yeah. And that's a nice little sophistication
Starting point is 01:21:29 in a movie that doesn't need to be sophisticated about anything. Like the first movie takes the ethereal quality where there's no real villain. It's like as a fan, if you're a fan at the game, you know, like, eventually William has to come in and Matthew Lillard is obviously playing him.
Starting point is 01:21:42 So you know these things, but as a person who doesn't know them, you're like, where, what's how? Who's the villain? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And this movie manages to do, they make, they create a villain in the form of Charlotte. They give you something immediate to latch onto
Starting point is 01:21:57 as a threat that's rising with a clear plot of something. And that's the one part that I do wish they did more of. even as someone who's, like, defending this shit out of this experience, I really do wish they kind of went ham on, like, some slaughtering in the end. They only killed Wayne Knight, and I wish they actually, like, off some parents and did some, like, crazy shit. Then I think it would have just been so much more, I think that would have been way cooler. Even as a PG-13 movie, I think it just would have been way more effective, more horrifying.
Starting point is 01:22:29 You would have really seen the dangers and effects and the stakes of really what's at hand here, as opposed to it just being a threat. The threat fulfilled would have been way cooler. That being said, you know, it's still fucking... Well, yeah, and it's one of those things where if you want to talk about loftiness, I'm like, okay, yeah, I could have taken a bit more expansion on the theme of she's got all this rage built up,
Starting point is 01:22:54 this, you know, pain over the lack of attention from the parents and the sins of the parents. And that's a real big conversation to have in a lot of contexts that I think, Could have factored more heavily into the present moment if you wanted to make this a deeper film. Whereas, you know, I understand the choice to go more toward, no, like, it's very clear that the parents right now
Starting point is 01:23:17 are in a sense and they care about their kids and they're not awful. And this is an instance of a childhood trauma gone awry and not let, you know, not freed. And at the same time, too, the script was naturally, self-aware. The direction was self-aware. Like, I do actually really want to credit the director of both of these, Emma Tami, because of one
Starting point is 01:23:44 I was like, oh, it's the same director. Shit, it's probably going to feel like just more of the same that didn't work. Because I was trying to, like, piece together. My preconceived notion was coming and going, okay, if it's the same director, then it's going to be more of the same that probably didn't work. And that's probably what bums people out. I really respect the fact that they, she took notes. Like, she's the director of this film. and she executed a film that feels very different while still visually kind of matching because the visual I like the way the I like the shots and stuff in the framing of the first movie quite a bit and here it looked really good like it looked good mood there was a good mood and there's something like palatable about it good lenses and good focus choices and yeah so I was surprised by but more than that like to execute a tone where you you could have, like the Matt Pat cameo
Starting point is 01:24:36 would work better in this movie. Yeah, right. Like that tone would work better in here. You could have like a weird lawyer to come and be like, if you did a good lawyer, like that works in this movie. Having a character who gets in the water, like, what are kids fucking come here?
Starting point is 01:24:50 You know? Yes, I want to hit, sure. Like, this movie has a self-awareness that I do feel the first one lacked and then when they were trying to it wasn't working as strong. Yeah. This, and without getting completely silly.
Starting point is 01:25:03 Yeah. I hope our, like, praise for this, uh, doesn't, uh, off the people who, like, love the first movie. And they're like, what do you put it down for? I'm just saying this. I think it's, they clearly did something very different intentionally. And I think that difference works quite well. Gotcha. Um, so yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:21 I mean, let's read one more question here from our, overall, you know, I, I think as just a sequel that improves. It guy, it actually makes me look forward to a third one. Yeah. And the inclusion of, what we could talk about here. I'm excited for. for master tea read this one job
Starting point is 01:25:38 what did you think about the ending specifically the idea of the old robots being the ones to take down the new robots well I mean that is actually a very great commentary on the fact that we shouldn't try and create new things we should always you know let the old things carry
Starting point is 01:25:53 dominion over all of our we upload through dial-up yes this is just a smoke signal actually you're hallucinating this right now I mean a shared Iowalska trip It was a fun ending And the part that I would want to highlight though More is
Starting point is 01:26:11 How it does set up like Skeet Ulrich And Matthew Lillard And I'm excited about watching them You know interact In the age capacity I think this is the kind of franchise Where you could just make Give them a funky wig so that they look younger
Starting point is 01:26:28 And we can throw Jamie Kennedy in there Which is like Neff Campbell's here Yeah, Screamer. Let's get Rose McGowan out here. Let's get everybody. Timothy all the fun. Who cares?
Starting point is 01:26:39 Every sequel. Yeah, having Skid Olrich's voice there at the end. And if he can interact with Matthew Liller when he's freaking, I mean, I was saying it the whole movie, but William Afton. Yeah, but no, spring breakers. Spring trap. Spring trap. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:54 Yeah, that, that ending got me pretty stoked. I like that. Oh, well, yeah. And I like that the, I like that they went with the whole, because part of it's what, Charlotte's controlling the. marionettes controlling all these things wirelessly and shit like that so it's more like technological and the old animatronics coming back with the spirits of the kids to save the day i thought was a nice thing because it is like the spiritual day you know call it whatever device
Starting point is 01:27:17 you want but the spirits of the kids overriding yeah this technological expansion based on one kid's grief you know and saving with love good point because the the part of that they have to balance is you're it's really a ghost story yeah but you're also showing up for like the animatronic horror movie and the first movie i really do feel like primarily just is a ghost story and then they're trying to do the animatronic shit once in a while this i think strikes the balance yeah of being the animatronic horror movie that you show up for while so so being truly a ghost story at the end of the day and it manages to elicit fun from the animatronics and horror from the from the ghost stuff yeah and it's and i think the j horror elements whether intentional
Starting point is 01:28:06 or not make a lot of sense hey just because like you know where did video games come from large by and large where do a lot of you know technological advancements come from but but also ghost stories in that tradition are so chilling and striking and you know the spiritual embodiment or you know when a spirit is imbued onto like a device or a mechanism or something like that they they brought up that idea that reminded me of the grudge that that yeah someone dies in the grip of some powerful emotion I thought they were going to like maybe alleviate Charlotte
Starting point is 01:28:38 spirit or something by the end but I guess she's still out there there were so I mean she she took over um fucking Vanessa yeah she took over Vanessa that was the one thing that felt very telegraphed to me there's something about that I was it's got it's just it keeps saying crazy eyes and all this shit I was like it seems like you're telegraphing of the plot
Starting point is 01:28:54 thing here I mean literally ended exactly how we said it Not the Blumhouse created that, but yeah, that gotcha moment, like this is, they are very, very well versed in that. And yeah, like, and some fun jump scares. It is, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. There's something about jump scares and in film review community on YouTube as well, where it's like, if there's jump scares, knock, that's a knock. For five nights at Freddy's, you want jump scares. That's the game.
Starting point is 01:29:27 Yeah, like you've won't jump scared. When am I going to get jump scared and are my nerves strong enough to not? And there's so many jump scares in here that actually were fun. I'm like and two, yeah, they were they were done enough fun because that's the thing too is as as you know these different horror movies and especially blockbuster horror navigates the modern landscape and shit. We've seen especially in the ghost supernatural movie boom of the past decade or so like the jump scare has been exhausted, especially in environments where you're. try to take it a little more seriously and be like we're doing a crazy oneer bending over backwards to misdirect your eye until we finally pay the shit off 40 minutes later in one shot so yeah like to go back to something simple and effective and they were able to catch me
Starting point is 01:30:11 off guard in moments where i wasn't thinking about it yeah legit jumped like a few times yeah yeah it's like it's like a workman like thing it's like this isn't necessarily like extraordinary when it compared to a lot of other stuff but also within its own you know rolling of the wheel the had a lot of spirit, and it clearly everybody showed up. This surprise, this shit out of me. Yeah, it's so fun. I fucking recommend it, man. And I, uh, I,
Starting point is 01:30:37 God, I am so shocked. I am so shocked by how much we were enjoying ourselves. Yeah, I am too. This was not, so we were like making, we were being very sardonic before we started rolling. I seldom a bit more pathetic about a movie this year. We literally watch like, stranger things. Like this, like, one of the biggest shows of the
Starting point is 01:30:57 year and then heated rivalry which is so so emotional dramatic and emotional resonant so our minds are not in the frame the mind frame to like watch some schlocky silly B movie horror flick yeah I've been crying all day and it's like whoa this was so fun yeah I had a great time this was the cherry on top this was a very cathartic day of shooting we fortunately had the just the right shooting schedule this was a great this was to cap off the year It's Friday, December 26th as we're shooting this. And this was a fascinating day. If you're here at the end of this review, this is a snapshot.
