Roxy Striar and Andrew Gordon react to Five Nights at Freddy’s (2023), the Blumhouse supernatural horror hit directed by Emma Tammi (The Wind, Into the Dark) & based on Scott Cawthon’s massively popular video game series. The film follows troubled night guard Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson – The Hunger Games, The Beekeeper) as he takes a job at the abandoned Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza to keep custody of his younger sister. What starts as a quiet graveyard shift spirals into a nightmare when Mike discovers the animatronic mascots — Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Mr. Cupcake — are haunted by the souls of murdered children and come alive after hours. As Mike digs into the pizzeria’s history, he’s drawn into a dark mystery involving local officer Vanessa Shelly (Elizabeth Lail – You, Once Upon a Time), who warns him about the building’s bloody past, and his fearless little sister Abby Schmidt (Piper Rubio), whose bond with the animatronics becomes both eerie and unexpectedly emotional. The film’s menace centers on Mike’s “career counselor” Steve Raglan / William Afton, played by Matthew Lillard (Scream, Scooby-Doo), the chilling figure tied to the murders and the franchise’s deepest lore. Starting point is 00:00:25 It started with a scream inside a quiet Maryland home, a mother trying to protect the family dog and her son in the grip of a violent hallucinogenic rage. By the time it was over, she was dead, and he claimed LSD made him do it. His name, David Minor the 4th, and we talk to him. Listen to Invisible Choir every other week as we uncover the most haunting true crimes you've never heard of, available wherever you get. Your Podcasts. Citizens of the Rejection. Not one, not two, not three, not four, but five nights at Freddy's, baby. This is one of our most asked for videos.
Starting point is 00:01:20 This kind of became a little bit of a cult classic. everybody had been talking about Five Nights at Freddy's. You guys know I've been on my horror journey. Tara had already seen this. I forced Andrew to come along for the ride. She did. I twisted it. I'm here not because I want to be.
Starting point is 00:01:40 No, no, because of absolute sheer force. That means I've been going to the gym. I pulled them right in here. We're watching Five Nights at Freddy's. We are the Jew Jewicks. We're Andrew and Roxy. And we are here to entertain. Are you not entertain?
Starting point is 00:01:54 I understood that reference. I did it for you. You did it just so I would say that and say it's from Gladiator. I knew you'd know. How are you doing today, dude? I'm good. I did a reaction earlier than this. I'm also dealing with some cool stuff at home.
Starting point is 00:02:09 We had a pipe burst. So, yeah, there's been some leaky floors. But outside of that, I'm good. I'm super bummed. When you said cool stuff at home, I thought you weren't. I didn't think you were being facetious. I was really excited to learn what cool stuff was. I've got a very sarcastic sense of humor.
Starting point is 00:02:23 I know you do. Yeah, I was going to say, we're doing a luxurious thing. We're building another floor in our home. We're adding a fourth floor, even though we don't have a third one. But yeah, so we're dealing with that, Aaron and I, the real roomy. But everything else is good. How are you, my Jew Jack? I am doing swell.
Starting point is 00:02:40 I won't tell you guys what, depending on when this comes out. But I'm going to a movie after this. I know what it is. That I'm in casual core for with my eyes and my attire. I wonder if you guys can guess. I still need to see it, but I won't say what it is. Yeah, okay. That's a good hint, too.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Yes. I want to shout out some special people over there. Our Royal Rejects, Patreon.com slash the Real Rejects. That's where you can sync up with your own copy. We're watching this today on... Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime. So you get yours.
Starting point is 00:03:10 We have ours. We watch them together. It's like we're in the same room, but we're not. Very cool stuff. Also, that's where Greg and John cover stuff exclusively. Also, that's where you get discounts on our sick merch. Rejectationshop.com. that's a she-ject original
Starting point is 00:03:24 So, most comfortable sweater ever I love this thing I love that you're wearing it past the Halloween season I'm letting you guys know what you missed out on But you can get it when it comes back Maybe next year, I don't know But also this is a horror
Starting point is 00:03:38 movie that we watch Yeah, this is perfect This is a horror movie, right? Yeah, that's what I think it is I don't know that much about it I didn't play the video game But I believe it is horror The only thing I know is that I saw Matthew Lillard
Starting point is 00:03:50 doing press for this movie and that is quite literally all I know and now that I have been on my scream journey that is relevant to me I was like okay this is horror king status now I understand it is I'm guessing horror Thursday so happy almost weekend everyone
Starting point is 00:04:08 you've almost made it come roll into Friday with us by letting this be the last thing you do before you could party your pants off shall we do it dude let's do it all right count to sit all right five nights At Freddy's commencing in a three, a two, and a one.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Not a way to start. Ooh. You know you're running for dear life when you got to go through the vents. More like crawling for dear love. Or, yeah, just crawling, you're right. Oh, what are you going to do? Oh, okay. I thought it was going to be deadbolted.
Starting point is 00:05:03 It is hitting me that I have no idea what this movie is about. I've seen a teddy bear? That's the only aspect of it, I know. I predict this guy isn't going to make it long. This is going to be like scream. good call oh never mind he's resilient he's a resilient king they're gonna jam that on him oh oh my god no not through the eyes ah didn't we just see something like this and i'd welcome to dairy with the eyes
Starting point is 00:05:44 yeah thank you for cutting yeah seriously i didn't not want to see that all right do you see any bears i see bunnies they look like yeah you know this place reminds me of and i think this is the inspiration yeah i think that's the inspiration for sure remember how creepy it was when they would come out with the band dancing yeah yeah i do josh hutcherson no way pm or a m a.m alarm aaron and i have done a few movies is already we did all the hunger games we did all the hunger games and we did Suthera. Ab's, come on, I know you're in there, let's go.
Starting point is 00:06:24 You don't have somewhere to be, come on, let's go. Five minutes, I need you dressed. Five nights. Five minutes. Big Brother or Dad? Think Big Brother? He walks through memory as if experiencing it for the first time, a new, no longer a passenger.
Starting point is 00:06:40 What are you thinking? I don't think dad talks like that, but the age is... Big age gap. It's stuff for real. Some people think so. Some are rated two, I traded a mint condition, Kyle Rukkin Jr. Rookie. rookie for a used copy of missile command nice i wish i could participate in that memory and actively
Starting point is 00:06:56 kick my own ass can i keep it no i would like the walnut fudge but i want the fudge on the side because i don't want it to melt the ice cream it's the things we wish we would have known and can i get some whipped cream on top and three cherries coming right up this is how i would have made an order back in the day you want your usual right uh yeah oh so when are you going to bring your sister by oh we got this new flavor It's just like reminding him of a memory or something? What's going on here? He obviously feels like he just saw a kidnaping.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I feel like that they're related. Or he feels like he did. Yeah, but this could be a PTSD. Yeah, I think he's having PTSD. Yeah, me too. Oh, crap, oh crap, oh crap. I feel like that guy's related to him. No, I think that guy is the little boy's dad.
Starting point is 00:07:47 He was just telling him to go. Number 27? Yeah, he thought he was seeing a kidnapping, but yeah. Okay, Matthew Lillard's eyes. What is your deal, Mike? Would you some kind of headcase? Oh. You beat up a man in broad daylight in front of his child.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Daddy! Yeah, it was his child. It was a misunderstanding. I thought... Just click at your employment record. Tire zone, sales associate, two months terminated. It's like he's got a trauma. i am just trying to figure out who you are mr michael she
Starting point is 00:08:26 uh-oh he recognizes his name was he a missing kid coffee sorry uh he really he clocked him somehow yeah that last name is he stopped mid-sentence i'm gonna be brutally honest with you here mike giving your track record your options are going to be extremely limited i'll take anything okay any any job you got no i give us some context i want to know you know it's not that easy yeah thank you I have a job for you. At Freddy's?
Starting point is 00:08:54 It's a security gig. Full disclosure, it's not great, and you only have to worry about one thing, keeping people out, and, you know, and keep the place tight. That's two things. You want the job or not? How's the pay?
Starting point is 00:09:05 Not great. But the hours are worse. I can't do nights. That's such a shame. Thank you. I guess you have a change of heart. Is he creepy, or is he helpful? Yeah, that was a crazy exchange.
Starting point is 00:09:19 It's kind of a little, combination of both it feels i don't know that's how i was interpreting he clearly clocked his last name now what that meant is it a family thing is he trying to set him up that's what i'm saying once the bills and notices start coming he's going to say matthewlerdle i need this job yeah of course he's got to take it but let her sleep there thanks for babysitting
Starting point is 00:09:41 you're still first should still be warm if you're hungry closer to home did i eat what do you think i don't know did she what are we got well that good looking guy I recognize very creative drawings are all these other punks my friends it's not done yet
Starting point is 00:10:00 oh look you can finish up after we eat all right I'm glad she has friends come get some food I'm not hungry Abby please come I don't think she ate come on please come
Starting point is 00:10:09 come in please oh no with the day that I'm having can you just eat some food sitting on my friend oh her friends are in I don't care
Starting point is 00:10:23 Do whatever you want Maybe one of them's name is Harvey But you should know what happens A little kids you don't eat their dinners It's a Jimmy Stewart movie Harvey Their bodies stay the same size forever And they never get to ride the adult Rides up to the amusement park
Starting point is 00:10:35 That's true Friends says you're an idiot At least I'm ready I used to be so envious and jealous When I was a kid going to amusement parks Like I wish I was bigger and taller That was so mean what he just did Yeah
Starting point is 00:10:47 It's so mean what he just did. It's Something happened with a bigger family? What did it say? Pining for what at the top? That I didn't say. I just saw a visit Nebraska. Cool transition. Love that.
Starting point is 00:11:06 We're going to the past. What happened? How about some burger with that ketchup? Everything's better swinging ketchup. I like barbecue sauce personally, but ketchup's not bad. It started with a scream inside a quiet marriage. Maryland home, a mother trying to protect the family dog and her son in the grip of a violent hallucinogenic rage. By the time it was over, she was dead, and he claimed LSD made him do it.
Starting point is 00:11:34 His name, David Minor the 4th, and we talk to him. Listen to Invisible Choir every other week as we uncover the most haunting true crimes you've never heard of, available wherever you get your podcasts. Garrett. Oh, did his brother just get abducted? Yeah, maybe. Whoa. Garrett!
Starting point is 00:12:10 Jesus Christ. I thought this movie was going to be really kitchy. This is very serious. And it's taking itself serious. Yeah. It's a horror film that's a character. driven so who is abby tam abbey is not mentally ill perfectly normal to sit around drawing pictures whole day and talking to magical creatures who do not exist listen you are a very kind person
Starting point is 00:12:33 i think we all just need to call don't tell me to calm down you're the doctor and you're making me feel like i'm the crazy one yeah so he must be the big brother what he did to that poor man i just i have really tried to play nice i have but i have to think about abby now Doug Serving papers? In your heart, you know that this is the right thing to do. I hope that you will sign. Yeah. And if I don't?
Starting point is 00:12:58 My lawyer and I will have to take you to court, where any judge with an ounce of sanity will see to it that you never see your sister again. Is that his sister? Okay. All she wants is the monthly check from the state. I mean, she has some good points, though. I'm hardly fit to be raising a kid. That's how I was feeling the energy from her.
Starting point is 00:13:15 I could drop dead tomorrow and she'd be too busy drawing to even notice. Images are the most important tool we have for, have for understanding the world around us it's real there you go and who is at the center of nine out of ten of them me like it or not you're her world what if it's not up to me my aunt she's an idiot but she's right no judge in their right mind's ever going to say with me give him a reason to do you find a job yet okay that would be a good place to start brother was abducted and his parents died yeah work at the child's arcade with the killer bears or whatever they are or his parents died or left i I think died that, right?
Starting point is 00:13:46 I mean, I don't believe, right? I feel like we're going to get more context to the backstory. Hi, Mr. Raglan, this is Mike. Mr. I can't work nights. Job that you offered was still available. Oh, it absolutely is. Why, have you had to change a heart? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:05 How soon could I start? What's you going to do how that girl babysit every night? That would be costly, right? That's what I'm thinking. You could always take her and have. or sleep but, like, make it a little nice air mattress. This space is huge in the 80s with the kids. Hell yeah, retro.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Is it the upside down? Just can't bring himself to let it go yet. This place is going to help you get over your trauma. Had some trouble with break-ins over the years. Drunks and vagrants, mostly not ideal. I could not read that. Security systems dated but fully functional. It's from the 80s.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Anything happens. There's a breaker in the main office. Just flip it. I wonder if because he's gone through this traumatic event, it's going to help him survive in the end? I guess that's about it. Just keep your eyes on the monitors and keep people out. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:15:04 What are the chances he's the guy who abducted his brother? Like, he's given, he saw the last name. Oh, you think he... I don't know. That'd be weird coincidence, but... If that does happen and that... That's of all the guys he went to for a job interview, that's, that is a crazy. I think that'd be a weird coincidence.
Starting point is 00:15:19 I think maybe he just knows the name from the newspaper or something. I figured that's what I thought. But why does he want him to be the one to take this job? So I will catch you on the flip side, hopefully. So it is the upside down. Do you feel that AC kick in? Yes, I did, actually. Thank God I have my Chejjjek sweater.
Starting point is 00:15:37 If you're watching this video, it means you've been selected as Freddie's newest security guards. This is such an 80s video. we're going to have so much fun together the genius who created Fast Fair entertainment opened Freddie Fast Fair's pizzeria to indulge Matthew Lillard has any association with this place like he's one of the
Starting point is 00:15:56 owners or something let's introduce you to the stars of the show eh dazzle and entertain for a year's time thank you for the exposition you should cover loss of the channel.
Starting point is 00:16:15 I'd be a long set of reactions but I mean Greg wants me too I'll do it not longer than Dexter oh it's no
Starting point is 00:16:21 shorter shit I almost just got purged maybe I don't know actually don't look at me I don't know why
Starting point is 00:16:35 but something's telling me just from those creepy interactions with Matthew but he's something no various to do with this place or the very least
Starting point is 00:16:43 he knows people disappear from here. Yeah, but, or he has something to, either or, he has something to do with it. Or he's the owner when he's like, the owner won't give it up. Yeah, and he's like setting people in to die. My sister would be, have some drungs we can put up here. Your sister? No, no, no, I meant this.
Starting point is 00:17:00 I mean, my sister probably could make some drungs, but this film's a really building. Too. You good, dog? Yeah, I'm just waiting for you to purge me. It's too early for anything to happen. What is that? This weirdly has lost bunker vibes. Everything's better, swimming and ketchup.
Starting point is 00:17:30 Right, right? Oh, okay. Garrett? Garrett! I can tell he feels a great... Yeah, that's what it was... He feels... guilt internally but i wonder if it because they said let your brother did all these kids go missing
Starting point is 00:17:49 what is this who are you did you see that car you see what happened ooh did you see you took my brother wait no oh so this is is night one at friends 6 a.m. also the babysitter did come over hey she's like if i stick around long enough he'll give me a ring how to go this is interesting hey by the way i do intend on on paying you eventually it's okay i know where you live sparkies welcome to sparkies could i say you folks up with some appetizers oh maybe she's buying maybe she's paying her
Starting point is 00:18:41 oh i don't know She went over every inch of that dump a thousand times. If there was something to find, she would have found it. Yeah. Now pay up. I'm sorry. You said 200. We had a deal.
Starting point is 00:18:53 Yeah. That you were going to find me hard proof of criminal. I think she likes him so much. Instead, you told me when a nice kid, my niece is, and that my nephew sleeps a lot. He really does, though. Sleeping is not a crime. I like this lawyer's expression. He's crazy.
Starting point is 00:19:09 I just realized I shouldn't be hearing any of this. As a matter of fact, I shouldn't be here at all. Sit down, Doug. He's wild. Why don't we just kill him? Tempting, but no. I recognize her. He really needs this new job.
Starting point is 00:19:26 His job is to make sure nobody gets in. We get in, and we mess up the place good. Judge gives you the kid, and you give us $2,000. You're a very loving aunt. 1,000. Do it fast. And don't mess it up. I mean, you don't mess it up, but don't.
Starting point is 00:19:41 I know she's protected by client attorney, of Litch, but her attorney just heard her saying she's going to do a crime or pay people to do a crime. What are you doing? Abby, do you need something? No. All right, quit playing and take that off. I have to go to work. I know.
Starting point is 00:19:57 I'm coming with you. Oh, she's wearing a security. Give me the vest now. I'm coming with you. How can you say no to that? She's coming on the day they're going to trash the place. I guess so. She's taking my vote.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Keeping it. No, she's all yours. I wonder if she finds a way to sneak there or something. Kids are resilient and resourceful. It's interesting because obviously this isn't like giving us act, breaks written out. But when you call something five nights at Freddy's, and we know that we are on night too, it's a really cool timeline. We know where we're at in the story to know what kind of is going to go down.
Starting point is 00:20:42 It's doing a good job so far in my mind, at least. of building up tension and suspense. Me too. I really thought that this was going to be a little, like, kind of a little horror comedy. I did not realize how intense this was going to be. Dealing with deep and complex and serious themes. Oh, he's listening to his nature tapes.
Starting point is 00:21:03 Do you see his pills in front of him? I was not looking. You might be right, though. No, I know. I know that it was a pill bottle. I don't know what they were. I guess I'm something to keep him calm. So he can rest and realize.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Imagine all this time of the same nightmare. Wait, please, please don't, don't run. I just want to know what you saw. I got to imagine it's because it's in his subconscious. It's all he thinks about for the most part. I feel like they weren't actually kids who witnessed it. I feel like they're kids. Maybe he repressed it.
Starting point is 00:21:31 Is that? Oh, I see that? The kid on the left, it was out of focus. And then it went back into focus. Is he going to fall again? No. Whoa. Holy crap.
Starting point is 00:21:49 It chapter 3. Yeah. That was the pills. Oh, my God. Remember those at my home? The intercoms. You had one at your house? I mean, this is the 90s, but yeah
Starting point is 00:22:15 We never have one I think it's the Baby I don't think so I don't think maybe you fell asleep on the job Can I help you Oh yeah Please my name's Vanessa
Starting point is 00:22:28 And you must be Vanessa Three attractive police hubster Yeah You're pleading by the way It's nasty Come on I know why they keep
Starting point is 00:22:38 Oh like he was in his dream In the same spot This is how you part of the heist to mess the place up and not really a cop. Oh, to distract? I don't know. You could be right. Roxy is normally correct about these things.
Starting point is 00:22:51 We're only on night too, so maybe not. Why Nebraska? It looks like a real cop. I'm fine. Are you sure? I'm a certified A.m. So if your heart ever goes out, I'm the one you want to call. You definitely have his heart right now.
Starting point is 00:23:03 You seem to really know your way around the place. Well, Freddy's is on my beat. So I really love this place as a kid. Vanessa Shelley. Mike. Pleasure to meet you, Mike. Oh, he doesn't want to see his last thing. Because he's famous for that whole thing that happened with his brother.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Yeah, she's a cop, so he'll definitely know. Yeah. Or even if it's not for whatever the brother, the punching in the fountain. You've been acting suspicious since the moment you opened the door. Yeah, look, it's been a weird night. This place, it gets to people. Oh, yeah, you security hires, never last. I'll give you five nights.
Starting point is 00:23:33 Have you met them yet? I meant who. Oh, this is what I'd be doing most of the night. Why you think I'm going to quit my job? What do I know? maybe the benefits are great. I didn't think so. Add to that, the thing with those kids going to sing.
Starting point is 00:23:46 What did you just say? I don't know. Prepare to have your mind blown. Let's have some. The kid's in his dream? Oh. Oh, so that cut him while he was sleeping. This is...
Starting point is 00:24:00 The best thing you've seen in your eyes. Da-da-da-da-da. This is... The best thing you've seen in your eyes. entire life. No, that was you, honey. You like her a lot? Oh my God. She's really hot. Okay, thirsty.
Starting point is 00:24:20 Yes. She is hot. Smoke. Maybe some other time. The secrets that we keep. You said some kids went missing? Sure. Back in the 80s. The ones you're dreaming about. It was big news. That's why the play shut down.
Starting point is 00:24:37 This is all related with his brother. He really didn't do your homework. Therefore, with Matthew. You're not even wearing your badge. I think you were right. That was a good call, Roxy. I don't know. I think, I really think you're right.
Starting point is 00:24:48 It's like some supernatural element to it, though. That's how he made them come to light. Now you're official. Cool reflection shot. Hey, some friendly advice. Don't let this place get to you. Just do your job, and you'll be fine. Yeah, sounds good.
Starting point is 00:25:05 Okay. I could have just told him that in the previous. scoping out in the place. Yeah, it really looks like Jackie Cheeses right there with the colors. Totally. It's showtime.
Starting point is 00:25:19 This actress looks really to get the guys and meet me here. I think I see a way in. Oh, they're going to break him when he's not there. I thought that's interesting. I'm not going to refuse
Starting point is 00:25:29 in Smallville season one. How could he get fired if they trash it while he's not there? I don't think it's just only about him getting fired. It's going to make him look bad in the courts that he couldn't hold on to a job.
Starting point is 00:25:40 Yeah, because he's going to get fired. Yeah. minimum time why would he get fired when he's on shift oh y'all gonna die let's go boys that cop is his alibi from the previous night whatever happens here he didn't do oh crap guys didn't count on going to a supernatural arcade Oh, oh, do you see that? Yep. Do you investigate here or do you run?
Starting point is 00:26:20 I don't understand why they would even come here when he's not on shift. So easily run. If it was my job, I'd investigate. No, this would be a good time to purge. I'm not supposed to tell me when you're going to purge. You're supposed to just do it. Oh! Is it missing, though, from the bridge?
Starting point is 00:26:45 Eish. Holy crap. Now you'll never leave. Whoa. What to stay on them? Let's eat. Oh, God. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Maybe this movie's PG-13. Or it could be R. Oh, those eyes are hideously creepy. Hank. What the hell are you doing? Running for dear life. Although I don't know, something tells me he might not make it. Hank.
Starting point is 00:27:25 Jeff. Joe. Oh, do. Come on, he's stupid. Hank. Come on. Whoa. Honestly, this is my favorite type of horror when you don't see it.
Starting point is 00:27:46 You just imagine what they're doing. Yeah, I like that, too. It's scary and creepy. Creative and budgetary speaking. I love the animatronics. I'm curious about, you know, like the guy they put in the animatronic or whatever, like, what that is. do you think that one the bear we just saw is the security guard we saw at the beginning i think he's dead i think it just killed them just killed him and that's it i think because how
Starting point is 00:28:17 could it be possible that they're actually in there i i they just leave let's eat but i don't know you're right that's what it says yeah blow out your candles no he's going to put it in the vent burn the smoke them out oh they're like staring right at him Oh, he's like in such a bad, oh, just like the security guard. That thousand bucks ain't looking so good now, Roxy. I don't know why I thought the flame was going to do something. I think that's the noise and sound we heard at the beginning. The humming.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Oh. Sounds like a creepy of Winnie the Pooh. Jeff, Carl. I'm sorry. You're unfortunately never going to get that room. If somehow she gets stuck here and Josh Hutcherson finds her, what the hell are you doing here? Hey, wait.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Is this a supernatural thing or is this an actual thing? kid. It's kind of giving black phone right now. Yeah, that's what I'm feeling too. It's got to be supernatural. No way a kid just willing. It's like, come over here. But it could also be like a little animatronic that looks very real or something. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:29:54 Or like psychedelics in the pipes. Look at those eyes on the right. Screen was kind of dark. It was hard to tell until you said that. Marco. What the heck? I don't think there's any way she could run to safety at this point. I feel like my she-jacks.
Starting point is 00:30:15 Almost looks like the alien thing. She's just going to come out and hit her. Holy crap. Holy crap. Oh my God! Holy shit! I was just about to say it's kind of early for her to die. Oh, she's...
Starting point is 00:30:31 We saw that shell... shelly or Shelly, right? The woman cop that I'm into? I think that's our main. Yeah, but this girl just got her body cut in half. That was a crazy shot. I like how they showed in the shadow. That was awesome. He's going to have to bring her to work tonight because...
Starting point is 00:30:48 There's no babysitter anymore. Now he has no choice. Okay. I'm scared she's going to see those papers. I try my best. I see her paper. I think he's trying to get rid of her. Oh, with the...
Starting point is 00:31:03 She's going to go in that drawer. Child. Yeah. Those have those yellow pages in there. up okay oh no she found them made a miss sorry why do you have them that's complicated aunt jane i hate her she's mean and she smells like cigarette you're right it's not it's just uh i know it's nice that we're agreeing with you and finally agree about something yeah Are you going to give me away?
Starting point is 00:31:32 Is it the cop? Hey, Vanessa. Hey, Mike. Oh, yeah, right, Vanessa. Her last name was Shelly. Abby, Vanessa. All right, I made the kingpin joke when I said her name. Mike didn't tell me he had a daughter.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Gross. No, Abby's my sister. He didn't tell me he had a sister either. Are you to arrest, Mike? Okay. I mean, he's definitely going to want to use handcuffs with her later. Can you play in your room? I think that's you, buddy.
Starting point is 00:31:58 He's into her. I'm telling you. Somebody broke into Freddy's. Recognize these? That's not what you think. Those are sleeping pills. They help me sleep. I know what they are, Mike.
Starting point is 00:32:06 It's written on the bottle. Yeah, I figure they were sleeping. You're too whacked out to remember to lock a freaking door. Accident or not, you're liable. It's called criminal negligence. You wouldn't understand. Are they ambient? Well, then help me.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Because the moment I filed that report is out of my hands. It looks like Jennifer Lawrence. I was thinking that, actually, too. Which is funny because Josh Hutcherson. Oh, right. Hunger games. He's like, let me pick the actress that. Looks like Jennifer Lawrence, but isn't her.
Starting point is 00:32:31 The name was Garrett, and when I was about 12, he was taken. Where was Liam Neeson? I was there when it happened. I never found the guy who did it, and they never found my brother. So there's this theory that we can't forget things. I will find you. Every single thing that you see, your entire lifetime, the tiniest of details gets stored inside of you. You just have to know how to look.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Your brother, and you think you saw who took up? I know I did. Wow. And I know that he's in here, but he's just, he's buried. So every night I dream. I go back to that same memory, and I search for details. He's trying to access it. Or any little thing that got overlooked, and that's usually the part where people tell me I'm crazy.
Starting point is 00:33:06 Who's watching his sister right now? To the same dream, same place, night after night. It's not easy, so that the pills help. Pining for fun? Visit Nebraska. That's what Pining said for fun. Your sister seems small. Well, we're looking for another to join the family.
Starting point is 00:33:19 What happened to your parents? A little while back. DPC? And dad, he couldn't handle it so. Did you take off or do something else? You and Abby, you still have each other From where I said, I'd say you're lucky That would be very annoying to hear in that moment
Starting point is 00:33:35 Yeah You just open up about some of your stuff You're lucky I hate when people do that She did it endearingly, but still No more sleeping on the job I wouldn't You're at Freddy's
Starting point is 00:33:46 I just stay alert Literally his prescription medication Yeah, I wouldn't have But she's also I agree with you She shouldn't have done that But she's also like I'm not going to file the report
Starting point is 00:33:55 That incriminates you Yeah, but like don't let me catch you taking these on the job is different than I totally agree with you fellow reject Greg from an alternate timeline is here to let you know that we have launched three new Stranger Think shirts in honor of the final season
Starting point is 00:34:10 first one up universal inspired monster poster of Vecna this is from our friend Janine I came up with this idea a long time ago I love those classic universal monster posters I'm just so happy to see this brought to life I'm gonna get a print out of this the second one up that we have here is from the mind of Aaron Alexander from the
Starting point is 00:34:26 artist Sammy who we worked with plenty of times doctor stranger things need i say more come on how come no one's come up with this yet and the third one i'm wearing it right now reject things thanks alex for coming up with it and thanks andrew for snagging my size and course we have our classic ones up there as well we have a ton to peruse through anyone you buy is an amazing way to support everyone here who works in front and behind the camera you can scan this barcode right here on screen if you're interested or go to the link in the description box and pin comment if you end up not buying one that's a okay i'm just glad they exist so now I can be wearing them.
Starting point is 00:34:59 Let's get back to the video, people. I think he wanted to say you're really lucky. You're hot. Otherwise, I'd be extra pissed right now. At least we know your type. Under no circumstances are going to come out of my office. Do you understand? I understand.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Good man. That gets you in the door, but you got to have a very charming personality. It keeps me around. All right. What happened? Give me your hand. Do you want my turn of light off? I'm surprised he didn't get a call from Matthew.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Liller like the place was trashed and good night it's like we're camping well maybe he doesn't know because the report wasn't filed what do they do with the I mean I know they cut her body in half but what did they oh there you
Starting point is 00:35:48 where did that do oh yeah he doesn't like that thing See, remember when Matthew Lillard said And number two keep the place tidy This is more than that This is more than tidy I feel like
Starting point is 00:36:12 Again, I agree But I think because the place was broken into And it's his responsibility That's why he's cleaning up I agree, but also you can't put glass in a bag like that It'll cut the people No, your sister's there, dude. Don't put headphones on.
Starting point is 00:36:30 Well, he doesn't have his sleeping pills. Maybe that will actually help him access information. Maybe it's been suppressing it. Or he's going to fall asleep. Is this night number three? Or day number three, whatever? That's night. Night?
Starting point is 00:36:45 Five nights. Five nights. Sorry. Brother. Or I guess her older brother, his little brother. His little brother. I wonder if she was even. alive and the little brother was alive.
Starting point is 00:36:55 You know her imaginary friends she says she has? Is it all the kids that he dreams about? Maybe. That's a good theory. I don't know. Hello? Adorable. I know you're back there. Might as well come out.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Ooh. To this point if you're hurt. And Josh already heard about the kids going missing here. You would think he would have full awareness and eyes on. Problem is he's not going to believe this. sister because she has imagined her friends. She tries to tell him about this. You're those kids, right?
Starting point is 00:37:28 The ones are disappeared. I don't know how it's possible that you're here like this in my dream, but I need your help. I get why this movie's called Freddy. Help me remember the man who took my brother. Love that. It's my favorite horror franchise. If we show you, what will you give us? Anything.
Starting point is 00:37:41 I'll give you anything you want. What do you want? Oh, you can hear his sister. Wake up. Oh, yeah. fell away. He's supposed to be in the same room. Oh, I didn't realize that tent was there. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:38:03 I didn't think the reveal is going to happen this quick for him. I mean, I know it's night number three, but we're an hour. Oh, she's giggling. They wouldn't stop tickling me. Oh, that's a good subversion. This is my brother, Mike. Abby, what is this? Very expressive.
Starting point is 00:38:25 This is Bonnie, Foxy, and Chica. Where's Clyde? Everyone? Foxy and Chica. This is Mike. This is a joke, right? I mean... It's like I need my sleeping pills.
Starting point is 00:38:38 There's someone here. There's always somebody controlling them, right? I mean... I'd be losing my head right now. Okay, good joke. Congratulations. You got me. You can come out now.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Remember the cop was like, just do your job. This is... we came on 2023 i would be having my phone right now recording so no one thinks i'm insane we have to go home now come on hold on they really like pictures are they the kids grown up because we heard how much kids like pictures that's what i was thinking i had a lot of fun tonight thank you for playing with me okay abby come this is shot really coolie the lighting it looks sick that's sweet Despite what the, I guess they did the bad people, but although I don't know if the security guard was bad at the beginning.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Oh, we don't know what that just was. Yeah. It's like, I'm not crazy. I witnessed that, right? It was really cool when she was getting tickled and we thought that something bad was happening. Because kids screaming, sometimes you can't tell. True. That's happened to me before.
Starting point is 00:39:49 That did not sound like tickle screams, too, but it was a good subversion for me. How would somebody with those kind of hands tickle? This is a very logical question you just asked, and I'm not being facetia. I'm being actually serious. Like, how did that even like? Because they're not, like, they don't have fingers like us. They, it's animatronics. Oh, look at her imagination.
Starting point is 00:40:10 It's all. All them? Yeah. And this is before she ever went to this place. Yeah. It. This whole, like, I'm so curious what's going to happen and unfold.
Starting point is 00:40:22 It's either going to make or break the movie because they've really set us up. Is it part of Matthew Lillard's game? Did he take the brother? Is it part of these kids that they're dreaming? What is going on? Or the cop. I mean, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:40:37 Could she be suss? So those machines? My friends? The aunt, what's going to happen there? Are they? Ghosts? Yeah. Of course.
Starting point is 00:40:46 How else could they make the robot to move? Of course. She doesn't know how weird this is. She's a kid. I mean, she's had imaginary friends talking to her. This is very normal for her. Of course. Duh.
Starting point is 00:41:00 You know, we used to have a brother, right? Garrett. They don't ever talk about this. Oh, my God. I don't really talk about him very much. Neither did mom or dad. Yeah, it was hard for them. It's hard for me, too.
Starting point is 00:41:09 Yeah, we keep things internally. Can you explain this to me? Oh, no. She drew it. Oh, my God. Okay, and you know what that is? Okay, I'm not going to. Matt, I won't get angry at you, but I really need you to help me understand, please.
Starting point is 00:41:24 Wow. It's when Gary got taken. How does she know that? Who told you about that? Her friends. Was it a boy with blonde hair? Oh, wow, they're having the same dreams? Ever tell you anything about the man driving that car?
Starting point is 00:41:39 Anything at all? I just think, think really hard, okay? I think you're right. It's Matthew Lillard. No. Feels too obvious, though. But because he stopped mid-sentence in all his name. Yellow Rabbit
Starting point is 00:41:51 I would really appreciate that We as the audience would appreciate that too He's going to bring her back there though Which is nuts What's up with the babysitter Like has he not filed the missing person report I mean Yeah you would think he would just say
Starting point is 00:42:09 Hey I've been trying to contact my babysitter She's not responding I'm worried Let me say that to your girlfriend Something happened with her too What's going on here? Holy crap, something happened? Okay. Yeah, when she said to him, you still have your sister, I'd consider you lucky.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Does she have no one left? Did something happen? Vanessa's here. Her friends talk about her sometimes. What do they say? That she's nice. Abby, if I asked you to wait in the car, would you? No.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Guys, I'm back. Abby. Hey, Vanessa. Abby. I miss you guys. You knew about this. Guess you figured it out Maybe that's why she didn't file the report
Starting point is 00:42:52 Thanks for the heads up Is this six cents? Is she a ghost also? I've never seen that movie But I did know that part Oh sorry I actually that's been spoiled for me I wonder if she's a ghost in there seeing her She's actually one of the kids
Starting point is 00:43:05 That look missing Driving a police car, right? I don't know These things are big and they could be dangerous So I think we need to lay some ground rules all right Vanessa what do you think I think we could use the tables for the fort Didn't she throw his pills in the lake?
Starting point is 00:43:18 or is that just how he what he perceives? I don't know. I'm not saying you're wrong, but... I'm not saying I'm right. I'm just theorizing because now we've established that both of them can... If they are ghosts, they both can see them. They have clairvoyancy.
Starting point is 00:43:34 It needs to be higher. And if she's not a ghost, she's not being called in for duty or maybe she's off right now. Oh. Are you okay? Gang our T2 Judgment Day moment I like it in here
Starting point is 00:43:50 Me too But I think it's gonna rain soon Sounds like we need a roof Why would she be doing this when she's on shift That's what I just Yeah I just say that I'll go see what I can find
Starting point is 00:44:00 Oh yeah Maybe it's just for us the audience That she's driving that police car And what he perceives Her driving papercloths I used to keep me back here for big events But you can I think you're actually right on this one Remind me how you know that
Starting point is 00:44:15 She used to work here Where the table costs Keep her back here for big events Don't There's spring locks They're on all the older models Let's see Oh, thank God
Starting point is 00:44:31 He didn't do that Like I said I'm stable If I happen to have guessed that right People are going to be so pissed at me Because you seem to know everything about this place What if Abby come in here? What if she'd found that thing? Or they're going to
Starting point is 00:44:44 Say that you've already seen them When is it, two? I think that they know who took my little brother. I can't explain it, but when I'm here, I feel closer to Garrett. Matthew Lillard. My dreams are more vivid, and it's like I can almost change what happened. So if she's not ago, she's trying to change what happened because it was one of her sisters or something. Did you ask them about this?
Starting point is 00:45:02 Yeah, I tried. I don't think they like me very much. If she's not a go, since she had a sibling, that is taken as well. They do like Abby. Mike, you need to drop this. I don't really see how that's any of your business. I'm telling you, you need to let it go. I'm making it my business.
Starting point is 00:45:15 What the hell are you? This is someone who's trying to help Are you real cool? Oh yeah, I'm a Y-W-I-W-W-W-H This is a cool Finding the guy that did this is the only thing that matters to me Abbey Oh Whoa, what?
Starting point is 00:45:40 What happened? It's okay, Abby I don't know what to say Just go home, like take care of your sister It was a weird interaction What are you so afraid of I saw your eyes, you were terrified You can do whatever you want with your own life
Starting point is 00:45:53 But if you ever bring Abby back here again I will shoot you Oh okay I think Although I think he would be doing the shooting You look so angry Why does everyone always look at you that way Interesting observation kiddo
Starting point is 00:46:12 I do like how the film is You think he's calling Matthew Lillard Or is he calling the babysitter again? She's not going to answer, obviously. Also, we still don't know what happened to his dad. I need your help. Could have been the aunt that he just called, which would be brutal. Is that bacon?
Starting point is 00:46:29 Hey, why don't you get dressed and then come to the kitchen, okay? I want to talk to you about something. Okay. Oh, I think you're right. I'll be so upset. God dang it. Oh, that'll be brutal. Well, there's my favorite little girl.
Starting point is 00:46:42 Come have a seat, all right? What did you do? Abby, look, I think you're. if you just sit down we can explain to you okay told you she hates her i promise you this is not what you think it is i hate you mike is this what's best for her what's best for you mike well i think that went well my god she's such a bad what is she going to draw oh oh does that mean they're going to try to kill mike because she's doing this i wonder if what she's doing is what ends up happening like yeah well look
Starting point is 00:47:13 when she calms down can you um tell you that I'm sorry and that I'll be back soon and would you agree that because she's drawing marks like that? There's a larger conversation that needs to happen here so when you do get back you and me you're going to have a little chat you're a devil you know what works for me
Starting point is 00:47:29 I would tell me a glass of milk with camomile and honey I tell you that okay have you heard of the seven carrot theory eight seven carrots at night helps you go to bed I did not. Does it make you out of the bathroom, too, or no?
Starting point is 00:47:44 Why would it do that? I don't know. Is it just water inside of carrots, or is that just watermelon all there? I don't know. I just read it the other day. I will try. I like hot carrots, honestly. Are we talking small carrots, large carrots?
Starting point is 00:47:56 Baby carrots. Making them hot might take away the nutrients. Oh, no. I love hot carrots. I really don't. I don't like cold carrots. Seeking the truth. Be careful when you open Pandora's,
Starting point is 00:48:11 box roxy do do do do oh is that the hunger games yeah okay enough games you too i love how i knew right away what you were doing you're just stand there dig in sweetheart what's wrong this is this isn't how it happened he's he's a great actor you can really see the depth on his in his performances this isn't real but it could be what is this isn't what i ask for that's what you want i just i just want to find the man that you're lying you want to save garret that's why you're really here yeah you feel a sense of to change what happened to go back i can't he's gone they're all gone really they all i mean this one event tore your whole family apart you can have this dream every night we can be together with them again like before i don't think he wants it to be a dream you said we can have anything
Starting point is 00:48:58 we wanted we want abbey screw that they love him mike and she loves them that's a hard pass yeah sorry you've seen how happy she is that's It's time to let her go, sweetheart. That lovely eyes. My God. You were never the right person to take care of her. Take a sip, thirsty. I know, but that's not what I want to sip.
Starting point is 00:49:22 I know. Okay. Yes. What? He said yes. You're home. Oh, no. No, this is wrong.
Starting point is 00:49:34 No. I don't want this. This isn't. See the blonde girl with this? the long pig tails. You think that's the police officer? Maybe. But she disagrees with them
Starting point is 00:49:47 and she doesn't want them to take Abby so she didn't want them to bring Abby back here. That's why she said don't bring Abby back here. Or that's her sister. You leave Abby alone. Well, I think they're like
Starting point is 00:50:01 if we take you out, we can get her. Oh my God. They just cut again. Yeah, that's real. That's real. Because remember, they're ready. Of course, yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:12 Dude, you need to wake up now. It's hard to when you're on them pills. That's a good point. That's why she threw the pills in to make them a void like this. That she's trying to help them. Yeah. Okay, we take back anything we said mean. Ah!
Starting point is 00:50:31 Oh my God. What's the hell? Same. Where is Vanessa or someone? Oh, remember when we saw the guy at the beginning time? Yeah, I was getting flashbacks to that, too. Do you imagine waking up to that? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:50:54 Whoa! Wow. That is a resourceful man right there. Holy crap, is that Max? Babysitter. Yeah. Oh, no. The eyes.
Starting point is 00:51:10 he's going to wow when is the Matthew Lillard review going to happen I can't take it anyone I'm kind of surprised
Starting point is 00:51:19 how little in this movie he is I was like two minutes of screen time right two or three minutes I hate that cut for us Abby
Starting point is 00:51:33 you can't stay in there forever you know is that what's it called itch sketch sketch Oh, chit-chichia. Did you have one?
Starting point is 00:51:44 I don't think we had one, but I remember the commercials, like crazy in the 90s. I had one. What the hell? In the house. Holy shit. By Aunt Jane, is that her name? Yeah. She ogona.
Starting point is 00:51:57 Couldn't happen to a nicer person. Freddy? Is this night number five? They're all waiting for you. It's time to go play. oh goodness she fell asleep how do we get there oh uh how is freddie gonna fit in there i know it's a large van actually good to a little lady okay i guess this answers that dude we're supposed to do the jump scares here not cool she didn't even check the on
Starting point is 00:52:40 This way from the weight. Okay, so... Something tells me Abby's not going to be cool with her brother. Careful. Man, it stops bleeding. I think you're right. She's like... I don't know.
Starting point is 00:52:53 Where are we? Police supply outpost found you and you're badly hurt. Police supply outpost, is it still there? They tried to kill me, Vanessa. I'm guessing you already knew that. Yeah, she's the little girl. Max, her brother. You knew about them too, right?
Starting point is 00:53:09 It's complicated. Abby is in danger tell me what happened in my dream they asked me for Abby and I said yes it was a mistake and I tried to fix it what do they want with my sister they want to make her like them leave Abby alone come on let's go that's such a scary ass designed why'd you go ready the police searched Fridays from top to bottom every inch is accounted for in the animatronics could be right the man you took them he was a very bad man just reveal it already god damn it one of here it's matthew lillard the parents would cry and the police would come looking and they knew there's one place they'd never think to check uh why would they why would they why would anyone yeah they're in there They're ghosts that are inside of those machines.
Starting point is 00:54:13 It's their bodies. Well, we theorize that. They're bodies. We theorized that at the very, very beginning with the security guard. He influences them somehow. He. Who, Vanessa? I tried to warn you.
Starting point is 00:54:26 You need to tell me who he is. You already met him, dude. He hired you. His name is William Afton. So he's got a different name? I couldn't just see it, could you? He's my father. What?
Starting point is 00:54:40 Oh, so she... This whole time, my brother, you knew. Not about Garrett, no, at least not when we met. All right, she's not a ghost. Tell me how to stop them. I guess that was wrong with everything. Give me back, my sister. I don't know who you are, and I don't know what you want.
Starting point is 00:54:58 I love this song. Every time we hear. Electricity is the key. We use these for animal control. Okay. It won't do permanent damage, but it will mess with the animatronics. This is my thing. If it wasn't Matthew Lillard, we would have saw who it was in that picture.
Starting point is 00:55:13 Come with me. You owe it to me and you owe it to them. No, I can't. He's there. I can't. I can't defy my father. I won't be an in need to you. She literally can't.
Starting point is 00:55:23 You have no idea? Family trauma. There's a reason that she can't go there. I know that we are saying maybe not goes, but I don't know. There's still something up. There's an outlet vent on the east side of the building. That's the best way inside. Ew.
Starting point is 00:55:43 Stealth attack. The element of surprise is a formidable attack. Get it, rocks. Get it. Oh, no. They see him? Nope. But did they see the vent?
Starting point is 00:55:58 I don't know, but what do you think about the lyrics of this being the secrets that you keep talking in my sleep? It's got to be relevant. Makes sense, right? It fits with what's going on in the film. Don't you know your sleep? it just said oh do you think it's like he's actually sleeping right now I don't know I don't know
Starting point is 00:56:14 I've enjoyed the movie but would you just reveal him already for God's sakes oh I hear is you gonna light it on fire oh Oh, yeah, electricity and water Don't mix well
Starting point is 00:56:42 Nice job Way to go Good job Did good Mike Chika I don't like this Oh my god Is that the one they were going to put her in?
Starting point is 00:56:55 That's not a tickle of one Oh no, no no no Chica Let me cool Hey Get away from her you bitch Bitch! Yeah!
Starting point is 00:57:14 Damn, right in the eye. Are you okay, are you hurt? I'm messing around. I don't know what's wrong with her. I don't know why she was trying to hurt me. I know. You're gonna get out of here. Listen to me.
Starting point is 00:57:23 I've been an idiot. Oh no, this is not the time. Get out. Why are you doing this right now? The most important thing in the world to me and I promise you I'm gonna do better. We're having a dramatic and beautiful moment right now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:35 Okay. Come on. Gee, I wonder who the person controlling them is. Ugh. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, no. Is that the blonde kid that we've been seeing the whole time, or is that the brother?
Starting point is 00:57:59 It looks like the brother, but I don't know. Garrett? Yeah. Oh, it's the electric kid. It's the electric prods, right? Yeah! Way to go, Mike! Cool effects on that.
Starting point is 00:58:15 They have such an electric relationship. It's your plan here, babe. Luckily, he's only got one eye. Oh, that's cool. Nice. So scary. You can't move a fucking... muscle right yeah one inch and uh happy it's going to be the bunny yeah yeah the rabbit yellow rabbit
Starting point is 00:58:50 is the one controlling them all it's it's got to be matthew lillard right that's what i was thinking is that matthew lillard oh Yeah, because he's walking like a person walks, not like an animatronic. No, we've said it like 40 times, sorry about Matthew Little bit. It's kind of obvious at this point, like who else would it be? Oh, no. I'm going to stand up to my evil father. I need to get you somewhere safe so I can go help your brother, okay?
Starting point is 00:59:35 She even sounds like J-law. Wow, all the people to hire him was Matthew Lillard. It's Stu Mocker. He survived. Look up children, I have something for you to play with. Maybe they're going to turn on him and realize he's the one who killed them. That's going to be so much fun. That's because they don't remember what he did.
Starting point is 01:00:05 They did, right? You have a sister. She will love it here. You are finished. Oh, no. Hell out, Michael Schmidt. Oh, his last name, Schmidt. Yeah, that's the...
Starting point is 01:00:20 Drop the knife. My daughter? Well, all for temper tantrums, are we, Vanessa? It sounds like him. I'm not kidding, Dad. I didn't see it coming, Roxy. I'm shocked. You may have forgotten your loyalties,
Starting point is 01:00:34 but I assure you. They have not. I wonder if that was a reveal for anyone. It's not a twist at all for us. You clean up the mess that you created. Come on. You both know, you're not going to use a gun. Uh, you should go with a headshot.
Starting point is 01:01:00 The kids die so she doesn't want to wear something. The yellow rabbit. he controls them the drawings the yellow rabbit hurt your friends oh show them what really happened you had one job
Starting point is 01:01:17 one keep him in the dark and kill him if he got too close that's two jobs oh it's kind of like Mike isn't that what Mike said that's two jobs yeah it's a callback
Starting point is 01:01:30 so now the they're all going to turn on him because she's going to make them remember yeah she's got to show them drawing quickly oh my god no uh oh oh have you done you done huh have you done Good piece of advice. Thank you. Oh, we remember what you did to us. Ugh.
Starting point is 01:02:16 They can see you now. They know what he did. Last summer? Uh. Move. Move. Uh-oh. Look at you.
Starting point is 01:02:31 Look at the nasty things that you have become. Look how small you are, how worthless you are. Uh. This is why you passed Matthew Lillard. Yeah. Oh. Ooh. Ooh.
Starting point is 01:02:50 Ah, la la la. Oh, God. It's merging with his body the way it had theirs. Yeah. Thank you, sir. Thank you, sir. May I have another. Don't put that on. Why would you do that? I always come back.
Starting point is 01:03:17 Cool. We'll see you in the sequel. Okay. I can't believe that his dog, that I really felt pretty sure she wasn't real at some point. That's a good theory, though. The Matthew Lillard one, just. really caught me by surprise yeah I will it's not that hard what do you want for dinner pizza
Starting point is 01:04:08 or spaghetti both you gotta choose which is it you can't have both I guess after that spaghetti with me boss all right with me both um we're gonna make a quick stop okay yeah oh check on Vanessa make sure she's okay Vanessa I don't know if you can hear any of this I'm out of a hard time, just processing everything that happened. Yeah, of course. But you were there for me and Abby when it mattered the most. I don't think that either of us would be here today if it weren't for you. Probably not.
Starting point is 01:04:40 So get better. And we'll be here when you wake up. Did you tell her I said hi? I did. Let's get out of here. What about the aunt? She was on the floor. Do you think she's dead?
Starting point is 01:04:50 I'm pretty sure she is. I was just thinking about my friends. He's a suspect now because. He doesn't take care of them anymore. He's a dead puppy. Oh, sweaty. Animatronic from Freddy's. Setting you up for the sequel.
Starting point is 01:05:04 Especially that line, I always come back. Oh, isn't that a line and bride of Chuckie? I come back. I always come back. Oh, no. Oh, he really fused with it. Feed to black. Woo!
Starting point is 01:05:28 all right baby i don't know if there's a hold on let me just double check yeah let's check oh it's a remote thing you don't want to just scroll what you don't want to just scrub and see oh i guess we could yeah probably the easier way to do oh it that there we go there we go made credits guys Oh, this is the guy No, not today. Sorry. Did you just sink again? I said, read the... What the hell?
Starting point is 01:06:11 Make sure there's no post. Random, okay. The little creature that he kept turning around to not looking at him. Well, I can tell you a couple things. I can tell you that I'm grateful to Prepper for editing this down. I know this was PG-13.
Starting point is 01:06:28 but there were some very intense moments, so you had your work cut out for you, Prepper. I can also tell you I'm thankful for the people, and if they're thankful for us, if they're on Apple or Spotify, five stars, YouTube thumbs up, leave a comment, let us know your thoughts. I also can tell you guys
Starting point is 01:06:42 if you're not already following us, at Real Rejects, and you're seriously missing out. That's where all that good juice is. I'm putting these guys through the ringer, so make it be for a reason. We didn't get a chance to ask patrons for questions for this,
Starting point is 01:06:58 because unfortunately, sometimes due to scheduling restrictions and whatever, this was a very last minute shoot, holidays, et cetera. So we had to squeeze this in without asking you guys for questions. But we will do our best to think about what you would want to know and try to answer those ourselves. Starting with, of course, the basics, Andrew, I want to know from you. How do you feel about five nights at Freddy's? I think it was appropriate, first of all,
Starting point is 01:07:22 that you asked for a five-star rating for five nights at Freddy's, so they definitely got to give us a one-star per night. Yes, exactly. you know what i there were parts of this film i really enjoyed like the deep complex themes i like that it was deliberately slow no doubt uh to really focus on a more character driven thing and it was focusing on atmosphere and you know there was definitely things i was invested in and i really like josh hutcherson's character i thought he gave a very grounded performance and you could see he was written with guilt and trauma and i like horror movies that focus on the
Starting point is 01:07:57 characters get us invested and we want nothing to happen to them so I think that was I like the deliberate decision to make it a slow burn as long as the slow burn is fascinating and interesting you have characters that are complex and bring a sense of humanity to them so I thought that was a wise choice and I appreciated that no doubt I really liked the sister a great amount to I thought they had a very complicated relationship understandably so they had a very tragic and horrific history within the family so it's only naturally so that they would have that so you know the I thought there was a great emotional arc throughout this journey of the film of healing and you know I'm really a proponent of you need each other to heal it's not impossible to do via isolation but I think having a very
Starting point is 01:08:45 support a very nice support system in your corner really does help and I like that they found it with each other through bondsmanship and I thought that was really endearing and sweet I thought the little girl. She was great. What an incredible performance. She wasn't, like, she was acting with really incredible actors, too, so she had to hold her own weight, and I thought she really did an incredible job. I don't know the actress's name, Abby, the little girl, but she did a fantastic job. She was really sincere, really sweet, and I really bought and believe, like, I didn't, I didn't really know anything about this franchise. I knew, like, the Bears or whatever, but aside from that, I didn't really know we were going to go into the supernatural territory, but I thought the film
Starting point is 01:09:25 did a good job of blending the whole supernatural bit into with the crowned bit because it's such a serious and deep complex theme here that we were dealing with when it came to the whole thing of the trauma and all that stuff. So I thought that blended really nicely. But yeah, I thought that relationship and was the heart of the film.
Starting point is 01:09:51 The Matthew Lillard thing, like he was great. And I know he wasn't in the film a ton, but every moment of screen time that he was on he chewed the scenery and I like that he was very unpredictable and sinister but at the same time he was kind of sincere in a way like we were kind of in the beginning when we were talking about him
Starting point is 01:10:06 like I can't tell is he being sincere or is he like kind of like is he being a little vindictive and scary too at the same time with his prowess in the way he's delivering his line so I did like that he was giving you a little foreshadowing of you know what's to come
Starting point is 01:10:22 but I'm going to be to assume it was supposed to be obvious because who else was it going to be right i know it was probably annoying for you guys to hear me say 10 000 times it was in but it was kind of obvious right and i'm i'm a very big fan of when it's not predictable and things like when twist are thrown out of when i don't see it coming but i get it it's matthew illard who else were you going to do but i also thought i i also understand that this is a small town but i'm like there was a lot of coincidences too in this film like for him to go get hired by the guy who kidnapped i'm not saying
Starting point is 01:11:00 it's impossible coincidences do happen i've experiences i've experienced many coincidences in my life so it does happen i totally understand that but to be hired by the the man who snatched his his little brother and i do recognize that when he said the line he was about to say his last name and then like froze like that was kind i guess if you rewatch the film you'll know like that's why he stopped mid-sentence, but I also figured this big tragedy that happened in a small town, that's probably what I was thinking, but I kind of felt like that was really, really obvious, and I don't personally gravitate towards obviousness, but I still like Matthew Liller. I thought that was great, and I thought, Vanessa, I did like her performance.
Starting point is 01:11:42 I liked that. She was trying to break the cycle in terms of she grew up in a horrific household, I can imagine, with this evil being, but associated as her father, so it's all she knew, but I appreciate that she was trying to go the road less travel than she had a sense of humanity that he did not. And, yeah, I thought she did a great job. So what about you, Roxy? What are your thoughts? I really like when movies have the theme of
Starting point is 01:12:10 if you are living in the past, you can't be living in the present. And I think that, thematically speaking, this movie really touched me, especially in the moment of you can live in this dream forever and be with your brother. But then it's saying you can go to the past and you can keep living there, but then you lose the present and your future. And the embodiment of that through his relationship with Abby, I thought, was really strong.
Starting point is 01:12:40 The actors, those two actors had a lot of chemistry together. Their sibling dynamic was really endearing to me. And especially, you know, you and I watching this, it's interesting. that they picked us to watch us for the channel because we're, you're extremely close with your sister. I'm extremely close with my brother. So sibling dynamic movies really do it for me. And, yeah, I just really, I enjoyed that, the themes and the relationships and the development
Starting point is 01:13:10 of those characters. I think in order for this movie to have been great, it might have needed a larger budget it because we might have needed to bring in more storylines and therefore more people and therefore more locations because similar to you with the Matthew Lillard situation I feel like that wasn't just obvious they didn't know it was obvious the way that they revealed it felt like it was supposed to be a reveal in order for something to be a reveal you have to had other possibilities on the table. Agreed. Yeah, it's a great point.
Starting point is 01:13:51 And we didn't because every character we had met up to that point was either dead or in the room with us. So I really feel like we kind of needed a B story here and to be introduced to a few other people if that was supposed to be a reveal or they should have just told us up front this man is evil. This is what he's been doing. He's luring people in by getting this position where he hires people. based on them being bad people,
Starting point is 01:14:19 he's taking care of them or whatever, so that the audience isn't using this like it's a guessing game because we're waiting until the third act to take off our yellow mask, and it's like, wait, do you guys think we didn't know that? I don't like when the movie doesn't know that the audience is obviously going to be smart enough to pick that up. When you talked about the coincidence aspect,
Starting point is 01:14:44 I also think that one of the things that they teach you, when you if you're writing scripts which any of you guys at home i know a lot of you guys are filmmakers or aspiring filmmakers one of the first things you learn uh is that you're allotted one coincidence per script like in order for a script to not be crucified there can be one coincidence whether that's like oh they met earlier at the wedding and then later on they're at a funeral whatever it is and i i live by that because like you said coincidence is do happen in life, I think this was too big of a coincidence for it to be acceptable. The fact that he reads his last name of Schmidt and he's like, oh, and then he's like,
Starting point is 01:15:28 I want to kill this guy too. It's like all the ducks had to align for that to be the case. And then the part that I was the most interested in, by the way, I liked this movie. It's not that I didn't like this movie, but the part that I was most interested in was the cop and I was like, oh, for sure she's either not there. or she's got more to do with this. Like that's the part that could be the reveal. But just the fact that it was her dad
Starting point is 01:15:53 and then she's like, but I can't go there. I feel like I'm hoping that the lore is expanded on in Five Nights at Freddy's 2 so that maybe we do find out he did this to her sister. He had her under a spell as well. He had something on her. Like something more than just that's your dad
Starting point is 01:16:12 because you're a grown-ass woman and you're a cop. Why haven't you shot him? Why haven't you arrested him? Right. But haven't you? Yeah. I understand he's your father, but that's not a good enough reason for us to still like you if you've just been like, well, he's my dad.
Starting point is 01:16:27 So I know he's been mass murdering children, but, and I'm a cop, but no worries. That's my dad. I tried to warn you. Like, that's just an absolute load of crap. So I feel like if there isn't more to that in the second one, that's a hugely missed opportunity and if there is more they were clearly banking on getting a second one to get there and i and i kind of think we needed a little bit more on the first so for all those reasons i think that this could have been improved with a few adjustments but the fact that i love the theme i love
Starting point is 01:17:00 the characters and i thought it was a cool world that we were building the atmosphere was cool so cool it makes it still at at least a good movie yeah and i like that this film didn't rely on jump scares too is focusing more on the characters. I do agree with you too that if you don't want it to be so obvious who the villain's going to be, introduce a couple other characters because we kept on pointing out
Starting point is 01:17:25 who the hell else could it be besides Matthew Lillard at this point. Right. If you would have just introduced... Matthew Lillard, king of scream, king of the franchise where you can't guess who the killer is. Right, right.
Starting point is 01:17:38 That would have been fun because I... That's honestly one of my... And I know this isn't... not trying to be scream or anything of course but that's one of my favorite aspects in a murder mystery or yeah like is this a who done it yeah no it's not but it can't be yeah and of course not but the point being is i love whodontens or i love scream where it's like just playing around and guessing who the killer could be and that reveal it's part of the mystery of it so if they would have just introduced a couple different characters or even done what you said with her with the sister twist or her being a ghost that could
Starting point is 01:18:12 It would have been even more fascinating as well, but I think they still have an opportunity. Definitely to rectify that in the second film, with just, let's get a little more lore on that back story because she was a cop. I understand, look, it's easier said than done when a family member is a mass murderer. Of children.
Starting point is 01:18:32 Yeah, of children. Having said all that, if that was my family member, as hard as it would be, I'm sorry. I'm calling, I'm, if I'm a police officer or I have the ability to dial 911, I'm sending you away. I kind of thought what the reveal might be is that her sister was the blonde girl. So she's inside one of these animatronics.
Starting point is 01:18:51 And the dad has said that if she outs him, that he's going to kill the sister who's still living through the animatronic or something that made it. He needs to have something on her. That would be a good hold on her. Either that was going to be that or that she was a ghost and she was that little girl. One of those two things. Because otherwise, to be honest, I have zero respect for her and I hate her. Yeah. It makes no sense.
Starting point is 01:19:12 And I, as you pointed out, makes it, I get it. It's her dad. It's easier said than them. But still, she's, he's masturbating. And you're a cop. Yeah, and people in general, too, you're a cop. Maybe she took that position to benefit him and to make sure that he doesn't get on the wrong side of the law. I mean, he's been brainwashing her his whole life.
Starting point is 01:19:34 So I did appreciate it as much as we were crapping on her, no doubt. She did do the right thing in the end. So with that I do, and she paid the price for it. She's on life support, literally. Got to imagine she will be in the sequel, as we were saying. But I do appreciate in the end, she still made the right move. And she did break the vicious cycle of the family. Since the Patriots can't ask us questions, I have a question for everybody at home.
Starting point is 01:19:57 This is not to shame anybody. This is not to, I'm going to not go to, nobody's going to go in the comments and flip out at you. I just am genuinely curious, is there, let us know in the comments. Was it a reveal for you? who was under the yellow rabbit mask. Was that a reveal, or did you know the whole time it was Matthew Lillard? And also, too, to your point,
Starting point is 01:20:20 is it, if you were a player who played the video game, is he the villain in the game? I don't know, because we never played the game, so, like, genuinely asking. Because it wasn't a reveal for us at all. Yeah, I just can't, and again, no shame if it was a reveal for you. But, like, I don't understand
Starting point is 01:20:38 how that could be. be possible kind of because there was no other, we killed the aunt, we killed the babysitter, we killed the babysitter, we killed the babysitter's man, we killed, I mean I guess it could have been the lawyer, like
Starting point is 01:20:54 there was literally no other They did not set it up. No, no, yeah, just that doesn't really make sense to me. It doesn't. I agree with you also kudos to the little girl. It's very difficult at that age to hold your own, uh,
Starting point is 01:21:09 Josh Hutcherson's been at this for a very long time and I feel like their chemistry really is the reason this movie worked. They gave it their all and I believed him. Like he really, he took this seriously. This could have been sloshy and it was not. It was, he really, really played into it. And I think he, you know, he's got to be number one
Starting point is 01:21:31 on the call sheet. He sets the tone on set. And same thing with Matthew Lillard, with his monologue at the end. I mean, that man could have come into this being like, It's a paycheck. I'm only in a few minutes of the movie. And he really, he delivered and he does. So respect to the actors involved, for sure.
Starting point is 01:21:50 When you're flying Emirates business class, sipping your favorite cocktail at our onboard lounge, you'll see that your vacation isn't really over until your flight is over. Fly Emirates. Fly better. No, I agree. I appreciate even if the movie is called Five Nights. Freddy's and this is something that you take the heart and love. That's cool. I've never played the game, so I don't know. But yeah, they easily could have just looked at it and read the script and goes, it's called Five Nights of Freddy's. This is definitely schlocky and I'm not going to put my effort in and I'm just going to take the paycheck, as you just mentioned. But I love that. They gave it their all. You could really feel the complexity in their performance and their facial expressions. And I always appreciate that. Whether you love a film or don't like a film, you can always appreciate a good performance no matter what. And just, Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard, you could tell they were giving it they're all. But I still enjoyed the film.
Starting point is 01:22:46 Me too. I hope this doesn't sound like we are crapping on. I think we're just giving some constructive things that we think could have just up the film even more than what we already thought was good. And I did say part of that I think is due to budget, so you know you do what you can with the budget you have. I'm hopeful because this movie performed well that the second movie hears some of the not here's some of this
Starting point is 01:23:09 because it's coming out right now, but I'm sure people were talking about this stuff. And I think that there's a lot of room for cool discovery. Like, what happened with the dad? They left that pretty open-ended. Is he still out there and he just left? Did he take his own life? What happened with the dad?
Starting point is 01:23:24 The daughter, why is she protecting her father for this long? Obviously, Matthew Lillard saying, I'll always be back. What goes down with that? Did the aunt actually die? Like you said, is he going to get blamed? for that I was so curious about them like a dead body not just that dead body but what about the babysitter all the dead bodies at his place of work like he would be the first size like are we going to suspect that it was animatronics out of come on like so I'm so the second movie has
Starting point is 01:23:54 opportunity to do a lot of cool things and I hope they do what are you looking for I'm just looking at Rotten Tomatoes and why oh wait you don't like playing that game just tell me what it is I love going yeah I would guess this would have a higher fan score um I sorry, popcorn meter, then what's it called? The fans would be higher than... You are exactly, you are exactly correct. So this got a 33% from the critics. I'm not surprised by that.
Starting point is 01:24:19 I'm not either. Yeah. And this got an 86 from the fans. Yeah, that sounds about right. Like, because what would be really cool about this is getting a bunch of friends, going to the theater, or having a night at your place, and watching this, this is the kind of thing that is a bunch of fun. You can have a beverage, check it out, enjoyable.
Starting point is 01:24:37 It's probably fairly. rewatchable, it was not difficult to get through but critics, this is the kind of thing that they would slam because there were things like, da, da, da, duh. For sure, for sure. And I could
Starting point is 01:24:51 see the slow pace and the reveal too. While I enjoyed the slow burn because it was focusing on characters and themes that I resonate towards personally, I could understand critics going, no. Just no. But this is saying like the green marks and the
Starting point is 01:25:08 the minus marks were what this film did good and well rather and what this film you know the this what is that no what is that I don't know what you're on this is on IMDB what it says it did well and what it oh I've never seen this oh yeah so it says the cinematography if you guys didn't know what this is so this is cinematography was good and it was effects atmospheric performance but what it didn't do well I think the character development honestly with like Josh Hutcherson and his sister I thought it was fine but yeah but it says character development lacking at Same with adaptation, direction, jump scares, lore, and suspenseful. I thought suspense was fine, honestly. Yeah, but I think they mean by suspense, it was predictable. Okay, fair enough. But I hear you. Any final thoughts on the movie? No, look, I agree with everything you're saying,
Starting point is 01:25:57 and I think we had some strong points that we think could have just elevated the film a little bit more, but honestly, I was entertained. There were things I really adored about this film. I really resonated with the character, especially Josh Hutchison's or with Mike rather and Abby that relationship really was the heartbeat of the film right I'm excited to see the second one I think there are some things that they left open-ended that they can definitely add some backstory to or that they left ambiguous that they can really get into a little more that adds a little level of emotion and depth but aside from that no and I do have a cut do we have time for one or two trivias or do are we on a time jump right now if you want to yeah Are you cool with that? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:40 Okay. Hit me. So because of Foxy's skeletal-like structure, he was built as a full body matronic puppet and performed by Ross, Russ, Walko, along with a group of puppeteers from Jim Henson's creature shot. Very cool. And shots where Foxy walked, it took as many as six puppeteers to accomplish his full range of movements. I'll do one more.
Starting point is 01:26:59 That's crazy. Yeah. Unlike. Are you done with that one or that was? That was that one. Okay. You didn't even take a breath between. I'll do one more.
Starting point is 01:27:07 I didn't know if it was still part of it. of it. That's crazy. Six. Wow. That thing must been heavy. Not five, but six. Yes. All right. Is Five Nights and Fridays, too, called Five Nights at Freddy's two? Or is it called Six Nights at Freddy's? I believe it's five nights at Freddy's too. Last one, unlike most studios, using CGI for bringing creatures to life, Jim Henson's creature shop was responsible for the creation of the Fosbear animatronics.
Starting point is 01:27:34 That makes sense of why they look so good. Yeah. Totally checks out. I love animatronics. Yeah, me too. My final thoughts are that I feel, like, I know how I feel about a movie when I know I have to come in
Starting point is 01:27:46 and cover the sequel because this happens to me, all, I pretty much only do franchises at this point and I can know how I start to feel if I'm like, oh, no, I have to come in. I know I like this because the idea of coming in with you to watch Five Nights at Freddy's 2
Starting point is 01:28:02 when that comes out on VOD is exciting to me. Like I want to know if they answer some of these questions I want to see where the story goes. So that means they did enough with the first movie to world build and character develop that I care and I'm interested. So that's a good sign to me. Agreed.
