Roxy Striar & Tara Erickson dive into Rob Zombie’s 2007 Halloween, a gritty reboot of John Carpenter’s iconic 1978 slasher classic. Written and directed by Rob Zombie (The Devil’s Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses), this remake expands on Michael Myers’ disturbing childhood before reimagining his infamous killing spree in Haddonfield, Illinois. The film stars Tyler Mane (X-Men, Troy) as the towering and brutal Michael Myers, with Scout Taylor-Compton (Nashville, Sleepover) as Laurie Strode, stepping into the role made famous by Jamie Lee Curtis. Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Halloween II) takes on the role of the obsessive psychiatrist Dr. Samuel Loomis, while Sheri Moon Zombie (The Devil’s Rejects, 31) plays Michael’s mother Deborah Myers, giving more backstory to the killer’s family. The cast also includes Daeg Faerch (Hancock) as young Michael, Danielle Harris (Halloween 4, Halloween 5, Hatchet II) in a nod to her franchise legacy, and Brad Dourif (Child’s Play, Deadwood) as Sheriff Brackett. Key moments that fans and horror enthusiasts search for include the extended origin story of Michael Myers, the gruesome and unrelenting kills, the terrifying mask reveal, and the blood-soaked finale showdown between Laurie and Michael. Rob Zombie’s Halloween is infamous for its more violent, psychological, and raw take on the slasher mythos, making it one of the most talked-about remakes in horror history. Starting point is 00:00:00 Thank you to Shopify for sponsoring this video. More on them in just a bit. All right, all you citizens of the Reject Nation, listen up. We are on top of it today. We are watching Rob Zombie's Halloween, a.k.a. John Humphreys' favorite Halloween movie, aka the one that you guys all claimed that we should have seen because that's what we should have grown up with.
Starting point is 00:00:25 But guess what? Tara and I were living under some pumpkins because we didn't grow up with it. Did not grow up with it. Not. These are a set of two. These are two movies, I think. I believe so. Rob Zombie does Halloween and Halloween 2.
Starting point is 00:00:41 Here's what we know. We know that this is a remake. Yes. This is not going to be Jamie. Right. This is going to be somebody else's Laurie Strode. Right. I totally forgot about that.
Starting point is 00:00:54 I'm so glad you're reminding me. And I'm reminding us both because I don't want to hear it from us. I don't want to hear it from us. I don't want to be 10 minutes in the movie and us being like, where's Jamie? Where is she? Where is she? I'm not having it today.
Starting point is 00:01:07 I'm not having it. So that's what's up. Tara has your day gone, babe. He's a veteran out of the ear here, Babu. Yeah. I'm feeling all right. Not as tired as it was the last few days, so I'm, I'm vibing. Oh, have you been zosty?
Starting point is 00:01:20 Yeah, I've been tired. I saw you did a little Disney jam. I did. That knocks you out, bro. It does. It does. The walking. The walking.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Like, you look at your phone. 20,000 steps, it's like, and you're like, what in the actual F? And I have 20,000 more to go just to get back to my car. Like, what? And in order to make it worth the money, you have to be there from 7 a.m. until midnight. I know. It's a lot.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Yeah, 100%. I'm doing swittily swell. Swiddly, sweet. Yeah. For those of you who don't know, I had COVID. It sucked. Yeah. And now I don't.
Starting point is 00:01:55 And that's awesome, which is the jam. We did it. If Tara and I don't get COVID again, for the rest of our life, we'll still have had it too many times. Guys, I'm so excited to be here if you can't tell. We are the she-jacks. We are the horror horrors. We are the scream queens. We got
Starting point is 00:02:09 we've been, we guys, us gals have been going through every single major Halloween scary movie franchise. This is no different. So we really appreciate you guys being on this journey with us. A super special shout out to those of you who are patrons, patreon.com, slash
Starting point is 00:02:26 Real Rejects. That's where you can sync up with your own copy. That's where Greg John cover stuff exclusively. That's where you get 15% off merch, Rejectnation Shop.com. What you got? Got those sheet dix Wednesday here. Me too.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Listen, I don't feel like this one gets enough love. I agree with that and that's, it's so adorable. When you designed our logo, the heart. The heart. I just was like, first of all, love is love, man. First of all, love is love. Same little, I'm a rainbow child. Totally.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Third of all, it looks like a brand, like a professional brand that you design. just with his heart alone. I know, it's so cute. And we are the Colt of Sheecks. We are. Hell yeah, go get all your stuff. Colting it up, baby. All right, here we go.
Starting point is 00:03:09 Tara Counts in. Three, two, one. I clicked it. Darkest souls are not those which choose to exist within the hell of the abyss, but those which choose to break free from the abyss and move silently among us. That's from Samuel Loomis. Wow. Silently among us.
Starting point is 00:03:29 We know him. We know Loomis. We know him. He's dead. He's dead. Dead, dead. But, like, we do know him. The actor that played Loomis is the person who we thought played Michael for almost every single movie. And the comments have annihilated. Oh, my God. Because we did because his name get Bobby.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Bobby Huffman. It's Michael. It's Michael. It's playing Michael. And I, honestly, I'm with the commenters on that one. Why couldn't we figure that out? Me too. We don't look up anything prior to movie because we don't want to be spoiled.
Starting point is 00:03:56 It's dark night. We love Dark Night. Oh, yeah. We do. My favorite film. I'm really not in the mood to kill the animals yeah they're gonna show us it's so cute and then he's gonna hurt it or something I hate it somebody around here's gotta make some money could yeah yeah yeah bitch I can't work oh oh god oh my god you're pathetic oh I recognize her waitress over at the bingo lounge she can give me the freakie eye
Starting point is 00:04:29 With the big, no, attorneys. Maybe I'll choke the chicken, purge my snorke all over them flappy-ass. What? Oh, my God. Bitch, I will crawl over there, and I will scop the shit out of you. How, I'll get the crushers for you. Is this like flirtation for them, or is this really bad? Is this them just warming up or...
Starting point is 00:04:49 Yeah, is this for play? Crime shit, crime shit. It's like here, that's all you do is crime. You can sit it on my pole right now, bitch. Oh my God, this is a wild dialogue. What a baby, is he gonna make her lame? Mom. Oh, oh.
Starting point is 00:05:08 No, her head went somewhere too dark. I hate that. Bring you back to her. I said, I said. Wouldn't put it past him. Can you please go upstairs and get your brother? Why do I always have to do it? Yeah, but being a prick to your wife doesn't make you a petto, so...
Starting point is 00:05:21 Right. An incestual peto, so let's pull it back for a sec. Man, that bitch got herself a nice little dumber. What did you just say? Roxie take you step it's not his kid it's not his kid but it's still bad say it to my face oh what's matter you jealous young daughter's ass huh oh my god you should kill him no no he he you were a hundred percent right i was reading oh my god i why did i give this man the benefit of the doubt i don't know i have something wrong with me oh you do that's crazy she was trying to bury me
Starting point is 00:05:50 six feet down i'm like you go in the hole girl i saw it coming that is that's he killed demicey Let me tell you something, that freak of yours, he needs some serious discipline. Yeah, so it's not his daughter, but it's still disgusting. Yeah. There he is. Good morning, Michelle, my bell. What the hell took you two so long? Elvis died.
Starting point is 00:06:13 I had to flush him. Died because I killed him. Yeah. You a little psycho? What'd you do to him? Stroke him to death. Oh, Elvis. No, no.
Starting point is 00:06:25 It's a rat. Who pays money for a... rat i mean it's a god damn rat man morning boo i feel bad for this baby me too poor little kid and being in a kiss shirt is wild i hate you and i hate you too you see this as soon as he feels i'm gonna break it again on your face geez enough all right can we just eat in peace for once wow i'm very uh this is different than our Halloween movies oh i am with you on that I was like, we were fighting, right? You were there?
Starting point is 00:07:00 Oh. We know, you know him? Yes. He's like a Disney Channel star. Oh. Or one of those. Hey, shitpants. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:07:10 Was it Lizzie McGuire that he was in? Maybe. I heard your sister got caught some in the bathroom. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Hey, Mikey, how's your mom doing? You know, my old man said that for a buck she'd rubber on his face. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Oh. Check this out. I was thinking to make him copies of him. mommy for the whole school oh is that his mom yeah I think she'd suck my for a quarter and let me oh god what the hell is going on here oh they still going I said break it up you over there you over there you there nobody you just stay there what did you say so what did you say something Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:08:01 Again, what is it with you in this goddamn school? I cannot keep coming down here like this. Look, Ms. Myers. Miss Myers. Oh. I do not enjoy calling you down here every five minutes. This clown, Michael? It's got to be then, right?
Starting point is 00:08:16 Hi, Jim, how are you? Is this her? They put makeup on Loomis. Miss Myers, this is Dr. Loomis. I took the liberty of calling him in. Has your son ever had any kind of serious? Wait, he sounds like Anthony Hopkins. I gotta get back to work, I gotta go.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Please, man. It's not, but that's his voice. Yeah. What's that actor's name? It's my image. We found this in Michael's school badge. Big deal, he found a dead cat. And these.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Oh, God. Nope, nope, can't do it. Can't do it. Not gonna look. You know, it's one of the number one traits of... traits of serial killers yeah yeah animals why would he do this mrs. Myers typically the thrill of hurting to smaller creatures it's often an early warning what's his name I don't know much deeper and bigger problems what is this is a very
Starting point is 00:09:17 disturbed there's your theme song I love that where you bring back the theme I need to take him through a series of tests you can talk to him but what is it a Look at him run. Yeah. We know Michael can't run. Flight, no. Oh, he's going to run away. I really hope we get actor names because otherwise I'm going to be annoying the entire movie.
Starting point is 00:09:44 She's going to be like, who is that? I'm just going to keep saying, I don't know. How excited was the DP when he found trees lined up like that? He's like, yes. Yes. Is this going to be Michael's first kill? I guess, because I was like, well, is he going to run home kill his sister? I know it's a remake, so probably not.
Starting point is 00:10:04 But I would feel very... But maybe, but he has two sisters and ours, one he killed. Oh, right, yeah. I'd feel good if it was this kid. Oh, okay. Oh, okay. Not if I could. Not if I kill you first.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Wow. Yeah, it's not smart to threaten somebody when you're on the ground. I know, right? Like, why would you do that? He's got to tear. Oh. Hurt people, hurt people. Yep, it's true.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Amazing shots. Yeah. Please. Oh, gosh. He's going to look straight at him and just. Oh, no. Oh that's of his mom yeah oh no the frame rate change makes me think he's about to murder the hat for sure got him bye bye buddy that music pick up you know oh yeah oh yeah
Starting point is 00:11:21 Dad is so screwed. Oh, absolutely. I can't wait for that. Oh, yeah. Okay, little Michael. You did it. Pretty sure there's a Griffith Park by the zoo. Here's the thing, though, keep the weapon with you. Agreed. Always. And also... Your DNA's all over that. Yeah, right? You can't kill her. You really torture and kill on the worthless animals, boy. Make you feel like a real bad-ass, motherfucker killer, huh?
Starting point is 00:11:56 Judith, I'm going to be late. Judith, I'm going to be late. This guy's a great, great actor. I hate him. You know, tomorrow things are going to change around here, so I suggest you live it up tonight. Oh. Judith.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Live it up tonight is dangerous words to tell somebody who's been murdering animals. Totally. Did you do me a favor, and please take your brother trick-or-treating? I know things have been bad, but tomorrow we start to make everything better, okay? I left your hair curly. looks pretty is his mom gonna die and that he sends him over the edge or what like yeah i wonder
Starting point is 00:12:28 that was a big final moment what about trick or treating aren't you too old for that anyway um boy i have a disco ball my living room oh that's so cool i love it bunda Oh, this is so great. I almost was just about to be like, this poor kid, but then I was like, he's kind of just a psycho murderer. Yeah. I do feel bad for him, but that's why he's, he is how he is. That's what empathy is, Tara.
Starting point is 00:13:12 I feel the same way. It's like, somebody can do the most evil thing, and if bad things happen to them, I still feel bad. Right. Okay, Dutch angle shots left tonight. Her stepdad being downstairs is grossing me out. Yeah. What if your dad hears us.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Oh, maybe it's her. That fucking drunk prick. Ronnie ain't my dad. Yeah, okay. My dad is in heaven, okay? Close your house. Keep him closed, all right? In order to show nudity, you have to be over 18, right?
Starting point is 00:13:49 I believe so. Oh my god, he has Michael. Do you see his mask? Yeah. Take that stupid thing off. Come on, babe. I want to do it with the mask on. What? You would be so sweaty? Totally. Like just gross. Okay, so maybe he, yeah, well, maybe he just kills them all.
Starting point is 00:14:09 That's gonna be his mask that he takes, so. Alright, get up there and go claim it. The editing choices are super jarring, which is really cool, actually. Yeah. They're like extreme close-ups. Yeah. Lassa E.CUs, babe. Oh, okay. Are we gonna tape Dad up and then stab him, or are we going upstairs?
Starting point is 00:14:37 I got it. I think we start with that. Okay. I agree with that. Like tape his mouse so when he gets to yelling and then... Oh. Oh. And he didn't wake up? He drunk.
Starting point is 00:14:55 Okay. Wow. I feel bad for that actor. Yeah, right? That's so uncomfortable. Alarming. Oh, I thought he was gonna, like, taunt him a little bit or wake him up, but I guess not. It's good effects. Gross.
Starting point is 00:15:18 It's really smart of these movies to start with the origin. and a Michael because we didn't start there right this way so it makes a totally different franchise yeah a totally different movie oh well of course she has noise cancelling all right well you're going next honey oh he went downstairs gonna make food okay yeah worked up that appetite girl Oh, God. That's terrifying. Yeah, okay. Blindsided completely.
Starting point is 00:16:05 When this mom comes home. Oh, God. She's gonna be so confused. She is gonna. And cut to him in his room safe and being like, she's like, I'm so glad you're okay, right? right what did she say to him go all out tonight have yeah live it up because things are gonna be changing around here things are gonna start getting better
Starting point is 00:16:30 tomorrow it's gonna be a real change when she washed through the door oh fear the reaper is what's playing damn more cowbell that's a good uh song choice yeah Oh, this one? Yeah. Maybe he doesn't kill her. Oh. Oh, yeah. And it begins.
Starting point is 00:17:08 Ew. I don't. I was like, because the camera angle when he was first looking at her was like such a sexual angle that I was like, what's he about to do? Michael, what the f*** are you doing in here? Answer me.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Michael! Oh, God. The way he whips his head back is freaky. Okay. Oh, God. Where did Michael go? Yeah, I'm like, how did she even get past him or get it? That's got to be our Laurie Strode, right?
Starting point is 00:17:47 Yeah. Unless in this version, Lori isn't his sister. something right because her last name should be Myers I'm I don't know why the mask is so creepy on that such an undersized face I agree with that oh I know this is the sister that he kills I guess right because I was like did he have another yeah he killed his first sister that's what we saw in the original movies Remember when they're sleeping with the boyfriend? Well, but in this one, he had, he just had this one, yeah, his sister, so.
Starting point is 00:18:29 But in the also, I'm wondering where we get, yeah, that's true. Maybe the, yeah. But we heard her name. He has a baby brother. Oh, maybe it was the baby sister. Maybe that's her. Oh, I forgot that there was the baby. I thought it was a baby boy, but maybe it's a girl.
Starting point is 00:18:48 I thought it was a baby boy, too. too. Oh, let's, now I'm kind of thinking it might be a girl. Oh, yeah. We forgot about the baby. Happy Halloween, boo. Oh, good. At least he didn't kill the baby. Yeah, thank goodness, because I was like, I can't be doing that. Sweetie, what are you doing out here? Michael, answer me.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Michael, what is going on? Oh. Okay. They're just playing the time here. I think you should do this. he must not have called the cops she might he must have told her something yeah wow oh yeah Judith Myers new body was found lying face down a pool of blood in an upstairs hallway apparently she had been stabbed 17 times wow boyfriend Stephen Haley's body was
Starting point is 00:19:44 found in the kitchen downstairs the victim of an apparent vicious beating with an It's so weird like this shit does happen in real life with crazy people Wackado. Three people brutally murdered and a 10-year-old boy Michael Myers being held in custody. Oh, being held? Huh. Like, did he admit to it or did the... He was just there with the... Oh, is this how he ends up in the asylum, right? Yeah, but it's a remake so we don't know. Right. Hello, hello, hello, can you talk a minute? Hi, I'm Michael Myers.
Starting point is 00:20:27 What do you remember about that night? What do you mean, like my costume and candy? So you remember nothing about the killing? I didn't do that. I wonder if they found out about the kid from school. Oh, yeah. You were covered in blood. Whose blood was it?
Starting point is 00:20:44 Oh, God. Hey, Mommy. Yeah. Is everyone at home okay? Oh, God. He's cuckoo bananas. Or faking it. Everything's okay at home.
Starting point is 00:20:57 It's giving multiple personality disorder and or, like, faking it. Or, like, maybe it was so tragic they did forget, but I doubt that. Yeah, it's like either schizophrenia or... Exactly. Or faking it, I mean, to get, yeah. Is that... That's not Danny Trey-O. It does look like him.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Yeah, it is. It is. Oh, my God. Love it. Love your tacos, man. I was in a movie with him. You were? That's so cool. Can't let those walls get you down.
Starting point is 00:21:26 I spent a little time behind walls. You got to look beyond the wall. You know, learn to live inside your head. There's no walls I can stop you there. Oh, man. I think he's so nice and it's nerve-wracking because are we going to watch Michael kill him? For sure, right? Like, he maybe...
Starting point is 00:21:42 I feel like he could get Danny Dre out to open the door or something. Look at my mask. Why did you make it? Because no one sees me. I wish they do. I see you every day. day your mom she comes every week anybody else weird okay it's definitely given off creepy yeah I'm trying to figure out where it's headed kind of a thing when did you make this
Starting point is 00:22:03 just yesterday I like the mask because it hides my face I don't like you to hide your face take it off imagine being his mother I she's being so nice to him which I know you're supposed to do but like right but like he killed your other kid maybe she thinks he's innocent I missed you so much and I'll think too where's the baby right what is he gonna do what is he gonna do I'm like scared a little bit god god It's okay, Michael. She just got real, right then. If you were her, wouldn't, I would be, like, so afraid of him.
Starting point is 00:23:00 Ditto. Like, you killed my daughter, you killed, you know, that the prick you were married to is like an asshole, but, like, brutally murdered them. I found it. I thought you might like to hang it up in your room. I thought you'd like it. Well, I guess I'll see you next week. I'll walk you to the car. Nobody else being in here means that, like, all. this is so much funny totally oh no oh no he's gonna take something now yeah i think so
Starting point is 00:23:25 oh no this nurse is a goner oh yeah yeah there we go okay now what happened what happened okay now the mom if she sees this has to be terrified Oh. We are deep in the movie for a freeze frame. Totally. Totally. I mean, he's got mommy problems, right? You know what you don't want to do when you're dealing with this? Get on the pole.
Starting point is 00:24:25 That sounds so unfun. Any pole. Good thing one pole was murdered. Yeah. The other pulls back at work. But yeah, we'd like to avoid. Oh, no. Oh, yeah, here we go. And then that's how we just end up with. Which we assume Lori. Yeah. Who he calls boo.
Starting point is 00:24:43 Yeah. That got me. That got me. Oh my God. The baby's just alone. Fifteen years later. Really, really interesting introduction to this world. I am with you on that. God damn it, we're going to get one thing straight.
Starting point is 00:25:02 I don't work for you. You may have worked here for many years. Done all manner of things. I wonder if he's still being nice to Michael. You know what? I retired in about three months. You're still going to be here for a long time. I'm always retired in three months. Good job.
Starting point is 00:25:18 job agent in the department with uh oh that's crazy wild i can't believe they let him do this i know and he's definitely over 18 now so but hey hey hey don't touch him he doesn't like you when he's god oh he's huge sorry about these chains mickey oh my god i don't know this actress but he's a giant you know what i've been taking care of this kid for almost 20 years and me and him you know what never Just shut off, man. Just keep your hands off his things. Kind of looks like Bigfoot, man. Like, I... I... I really don't know what else to say, Michael.
Starting point is 00:25:54 You haven't said a word for 15 years. That's nearly twice as long as my first marriage. His facial hair is well. Yeah. Dude, that is Anthony Hopkins. No, no, no. It's not. It's not.
Starting point is 00:26:08 What's his name? In a weird way, you've become like my best friend. Just shows you how fucked up my life is. He's from, I think he was in Westworld, too. I've done all I possibly can be. Oh, I'm going to find his name. Yeah, you have to. This is going to be my last day.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Michael. Is he about to flip? Who plays Loomis? Malcolm McDowell. Malcolm McDowell. Malcolm McDowell. He's been in clockwork, Orange. Work orange.
Starting point is 00:26:43 Yeah, no, he's massively famous. You know who he's not, though? The Anthony Hopkins. Thank you. I literally couldn't move on. I was like, no, it's him. Malcolm McDowell. Jesus Christ, Roxy.
Starting point is 00:26:55 And you call yourself a film, girl. Behind these eyes, one finds only. That's a very cool shot. The absence of light. These are the eyes of a cycle bear. I'm so happy. look that up for me thank you yeah michael was created by a perfect alignment of interior and exterior factors gone violently him being like i have to move on yeah after 20 years totally and have
Starting point is 00:27:27 to move on to make money off of michael's story basically what you got yes that's on boys we're out of here so what cuck will we move in tonight michael myers trick or treat baby that would be a great reference totally right like he should have definitely should of i wonder they have an outtake maybe they do dutch angle city up in here oh he's getting ready he's bumping all the masks is so creepy yeah can't believe i'm with you like this is where you die Oh, we know he's got mommy issues. So like with this lady, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Does she go first? Them letting him wear this mask right now. It's weird. Oh, ooh. Oh, wow. Okay. Oh, she shot the... Oh.
Starting point is 00:28:42 Where's Danny Trejo? Yeah, he's gonna be like, Michael, Michael, right? And then he won't kill him, I hope. Well, Danny believes they have a special bond. Bond. Yeah, okay. He's retiring in three months. I know, poor guy.
Starting point is 00:29:04 What is your honest bet? Is Michael gonna let him live or no? Yes, but it's gonna be hell for him. for him. It's probably the worst guess in the world, but I'm going to go with, it's going to let him live. Gloria. Oh, Gloria, dead a F. He's like, what's happening? I know, right? Like, it's like dead silent. Dude, this movie is excellently executed. I agree.
Starting point is 00:29:37 Yeah, okay. You've seen the blood? Okay Don't do nothing. We're both gonna regret later. Okay, Mikey. Get you back into your room, okay? Oh, never mind. He's gonna kill him. He can't go into his room. Gonna get these handcuffs and I'm gonna try to put these handcuffs on me. That's an interesting strategy. No, he's gonna... Maybe he locks Danny in there.
Starting point is 00:30:02 It doesn't kill him but puts him in their handcuff. Because he can just... Okay, I was wrong. I thought, oh, okay. I was gonna you, Mikey. Oh. That's a good shot. Wow. Ugh. You were a goddamn, it didn't matter. Oh, Mikey don't give enough.
Starting point is 00:30:33 Ugh, God, that's gross. Wow. So he is going to leave him a lot. Oh, no. Oh. Okay, that was a fun cut. I think it's really good to remind the audience. It does not matter if you treat this man well.

Do you mind waiting somewhere else and let me pass this beast in peace? That is not how women speak in the bathrooms.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Total opposite. Look, brother, if you're looking for some kind of action, you better take it on the arches before I'm done dropping this load. Are you going to be one sorry, eho? Ugh, the feet are killing me. You just hold on, Daisy. Let me introduce myself. I'm Joe Grizzly, bitch.
Starting point is 00:34:00 You're so dead. I'm going to cut that mask right off your face. Yeah, man. You should have stabbed him when you had a chance. Why do people monologue before they? Straight up, like, talking for five minutes. Wow. You see a man in a mask in a bathroom?

Starting point is 00:34:56 Forty-two years and I sit over and done. Mr. Nichols is a old pervert. Oh, that's Lori. Guess what, Mom? Mr. Nichols attached me the wrong way. Oh, what? Oh, God. Thanks again for dropping that thing off.
Starting point is 00:35:12 Just shove the envelope inside the mail slot. Yeah, Dad, I know. Love the Halloween decorations. She looks so similar to what her big sister looks. what her big sister looked like yeah got your briefcase honey oh shit that's good casting wait wait wait wait up leave me alone Tommy that's the same that's the same story that's the same story that this is like like the same stories, but completely retold differently, different perspectives.
Starting point is 00:35:54 Yeah. Such an amazing remake. I agree. I know Rob Zombie's King, but like, he should be so proud of this one. Yeah, that's great. And the fact that he got Anthony Hopkins to be in it. Oh, so good.
Starting point is 00:36:10 I'm hoping if I keep making fun of myself, that the comments will be kinder to me. The trolls will be like, we get it. And she gets it. She gets how bat shit that was of her. Yes, I do. You were so earnest about it. That's Anthony Hopkins.
Starting point is 00:36:25 I was like, no, it's not. I gotta look it up now. Malcolm McDowell, good, Roxy. Are Malcolm and Andy McDowell related? Wow. Oh. Here we go. Reunited and it feels so good.
Starting point is 00:36:46 His favorite mask of all, after all the masks he made. I want to know who this actor is too. He is massive. Yeah. And very still in a creepy way. What are you insane? He's right there. What are you crazy?
Starting point is 00:37:01 You can't go in there? Well, yes, I can. Remember we saw her drop us off in the first one. Yeah. Oh, no, Tommy. Don't even joke about it. I'm serious. That kid.
Starting point is 00:37:14 Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. He looks so young. I don't remember his name now. Oh, no, I do. Is that the guy who plays in Superman? Oh, no. I think you might be right.
Starting point is 00:37:28 I also think he was in the Mandalorian. Oh, no, I don't think it's different. No, to me, he looks like the guy and Superman who plays Jimmy Olson. And he also was in Santa Clarita Diet and his name. He looks kind of like coy or they wore the same outfit ones. And he wants me to pretend that maybe said Lindsay Wallace, Then sneak out and get her with me so she can go see Paul.
Starting point is 00:37:51 Skyler Gryl Grylady, something. Is who I think it is. Oh, yeah, no, he was, but he got out of it. Ew. I am DVD. I am. But I'm like. Skylar something.
Starting point is 00:38:07 I'm home early. Skylar Gis song, though. You're right. You're right. I'm not getting hammered. The job rocks. That makes up for the Anthony. You owe me big time.
Starting point is 00:38:17 I love you. I love you, I love you. That girl started the show awkward, I think, on MTV. We've given the authorities his complete profile. Oh, what do you want us to do? I want you to get on the phone, and I want you to tell them who broke out of here last night. Oh, I'm so upset with myself every time I see him. Oh, I also think he was in Jurassic Park, one of the Jurassic Parks.
Starting point is 00:38:42 I feel the guy's watching us. What guy? A guy over there. Yeah. Ooh, that hand. Hey, hey, freak, you want some of the young stuff, you like that, will come again. Why would you do that? Weird.
Starting point is 00:38:56 Because you guys are crazy, like I could have been dangerous. Oh, God. Remember the two annoying friends from the original? You should date him. You should. One of their dads is the cop. Hey, Mr. Brackett. Nice furry hat, Mr. Bracken.
Starting point is 00:39:14 Thank you. What's up, Dad? I'm on my way home. anybody want a ride yeah I do like the dialogue I think it's pretty uh yeah they're way less annoying then yeah or he's an OG friends right do you think he was flirting with me you were so demented totally yes it does sound a little bit like what men think women talk about when their kids like was he flirting with me the dad right but it's still good yeah that line I was like but the lens before it I liked her kind of witty banter god damn
Starting point is 00:39:47 of a bitch box kids where the hell you going i think i know whose grave that is oh oh my god we're a little foxy better than roxy yeah i i just get so excited when the last holiday movie we disliked so much yeah and this is this is so i'm with you don't worry dude we'll find another See, even though that's probably ADR doesn't sound like it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I've clocked a couple of ADRs in this movie that were great. Like it's like, you could tell, it's a little, but you're like, good job, you did this. On a scale from one to ten, seven, five.
Starting point is 00:40:33 How about? Zero. Zero. Zero plus eleven. Girl go pee, you know how I feel. Yep. Don't get that UTI. You saw Michael just now?
Starting point is 00:40:45 Yeah, right there in the hallway. Just wait. You see that, Tara? You're like, yeah, I see that bright white mask. I do actually like this mask. I think it looks demented. Oh, no. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:41:04 We're a song. I hear it. And we came dressed. Up. Oh, oh, oh, oh. That got me. Yeah, me too. What the.
Starting point is 00:41:23 He's so confused. He's like, who are you? Right. Like, what is going on? Oh, oh, okay. That was a really good kill because it was shocking. Yeah, I didn't see that coming because I was like, what is he going to do here?

That one really got me. Holy to Molly. That came in quick. Okay, here we go. I guess we're not going to talk about the vacation.
Starting point is 00:43:33 No, I guess we're not going on that vacation after all. You gotta fight for your life, big. Grab a weapon. Grab anything and throw it. Oh, boy. Oh, how is he letting her? Sometimes he does do this. Yeah, he just likes to see them, like, crawl away.
Starting point is 00:43:58 Sometimes. But towards the phone? No way. Oh, he wants to know where she is. Yeah. That's why he hasn't killed her. Oh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:21 Oh. Okay. The sound. Yep. Is the buggy man real? Why are you so obsessed with the boogeyman, Tommy? Our reference. I hear things at school, like what?
Starting point is 00:44:39 I heard that on Halloween night, the boogeyman sneaks out and tax kids, you don't believe. I didn't know Scott had been acting since his age. That's crazy. Yeah, so young. He likes to eat little boys like you. Oh my god, the bogeyman! You ever get to die!
Starting point is 00:44:53 Don't get me to die! Hold that thought. You can tell that, like, I've watched so many horror movies now that, like, even in the middle of a movie, I've been calling it when I know it's fake. Like, when she was joking, like, the boogeyman before i would have gone i would have like jump but now i'm like well i have some fun and exciting news for you so we'll see in a few minutes lindsay wallace is
Starting point is 00:45:14 coming over what you can't come over here one she's a girl two she's not a boy uh oh that's so creepy Doyle. Okay. Same names. I share some popcorn with your little boyfriend? No, not. You know you are.
Starting point is 00:45:42 You know you're gonna share something with Paul. It's interesting about these movies that it's just acceptable. Like when I used to babysit, I would never have done that. No, never. You can't, no, never leave the house. No. Unless the parents specifically know you're going to, like... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:58 Go worship your God. You would be happy to know that I talked to Paul about his buddy Finn Schremer. Tramer. K-2007. Totally. Well, he's okay. I mean, you need a boyfriend. You need... Okay.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Oh! Yes! Yes! Okay. Alright, you're right. What do he say? He said. Dude, she's fucking hot.
Starting point is 00:46:20 They are both so cute. I agree. Nice, Camero! That's Paul. I gotta go. Have fun. Oh, God. Is he gonna be Michael?
Starting point is 00:46:30 No, we just saw Michael standing. Oh. What's that? Right there. Oh, God. He looks like a tree. Yeah, thank you. I read your book.
Starting point is 00:46:39 I know exactly who you are. And frankly, I don't like you. Okay. But do you like Anthony Hopkins? Because he's doing a great job in this film. Because monsters sell books. Please, just look at this photograph on the cover of the book. All right.
Starting point is 00:46:57 All right. I first met Michael 17 years ago. He's come back for his book. baby sister if i break a promise i made then you must promise that you will play it razor his promise was to not let lorry strode know she was a myers uh we can't come to the phone right now they changed their voice machine for halloween i guess so this sheriff bracket hello please if you can hear me i need to talk to you immediately all right let's go I like to return to the subject we started earlier this evening.
Starting point is 00:47:36 The way he talks. What do you want to know, Tommy? Why would you only attack kids who don't believe? Why do you keep avoiding the subject, Lori? Is she scared? Maybe she is. So little kid. Okay, please don't know.
Starting point is 00:47:50 No, no! Yeah! I'm gonna tell your parents! Oh, transition. Yeah. Oh, hold it like that. Expensive idiots? Oh, the shirt?
Starting point is 00:48:01 I didn't know what, yeah. I didn't know what? talking about i was like was he pulling out yeah i think he is is he michael he's right there wonder if he's just gonna stab through both of them alarming oh okay whoa he whipped her back in there whoa he whipped her back in there so quick Good on you, baby, girl. Go get a weapon. Yep, it's important this. His knife versus her knife, way.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Have it, girl. Come on now. Oh. Dang it. She did try, though. She did, which, thank goodness. Oh, no. She can get her throat slit right now. That would be so painful. Yeah, terrible, because you're like...
Starting point is 00:49:05 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, I heard that... Yeah. I drive her to another town and drop her off at the nearest emergency room. About three months later, I find out from a friend of mine, Mason Strode, that he's adopted the baby. What did you think was going to happen? Nobody was going to adopt the baby? Like, what do you mean?
Starting point is 00:49:24 Randomly, your friend's the one who adopted the baby? That was interesting. Right. Annie, you're coming in. You better be decent. Oh, boy. Not only is she not decent. Oh.
Starting point is 00:49:35 Oh. Yeah. Oh, she's alive. Oh. Oh, call the police. Go! Yeah! Oh, my God, honey.
Starting point is 00:49:45 Are you okay? No. I don't know why he had... She had to run across the street to call, but... He's behind the door. Yeah, he's got to be. Right? No.
Starting point is 00:49:59 Oh, God, yeah, he is. Oh, clap your hands, Pip. You already tried to grab a weapon. Sing a song, clap your hands. Add to the list, Tara, add to the list. Perch! That was just a little one. That was a little one.
Starting point is 00:50:20 You did good. But I'm doing better. You said, right? Oh. Getting stronger by the minute. Pratt of you, lady. Oh, oh, that was a very... My name's Lori Strode.
Starting point is 00:50:34 I'm at 1-997-1-9-7-1-9-1. This girl's doing a good job. Excellent. Excellent. Everybody in this, actually, is like really, really good. Emergency and who called it in? A mental stabbing victim call placed by a boy strode. He's found him!
Starting point is 00:50:52 Oh, God. He's flying off the handle. I was a little over-delivery by Anthony, by Sir Anthony. Anthony Hopkins has forgotten his foundation. It's almost as if it's not him. But go through the glass. Absolutely. Break right through it.
Starting point is 00:51:21 There you go. Good job. Yeah, get out there. We know he's slow. Yeah. Also. scream or scream clap your hands where is everybody exactly like not that and that other girl ran out saying help help help and nobody came out so like i don't know it's Halloween night and it's not late
Starting point is 00:51:41 it's not that late that they were like listen we had a location to shut down one street in Pasadena but not get a bunch of people Oh, God, oh God. Oh, God! Oh, we're going on! The way! Oh, God! I'm scared!
Starting point is 00:52:07 Oh, God! That got me. Yep. Okay, but now 911 doesn't know where you are, so now you have to recall. Grab a weapon, honey. The way he broke through that door with his body. Right, just boom.
Starting point is 00:52:23 Get in the bathroom! I don't want to say worst babysitter ever, but you coming here, directly put them in danger, for sure. Totally. I got this. I got this. Listen for the screams. If you're murdered and you know it, clap your hands. This is the police. Are you all right?
Starting point is 00:52:52 He's out there, please. Oh, so they're at the right house? Oh, they are at the right house. But she just ran. Yeah, I don't know. They figured it out. Oh, the little girl ran to the house. Probably gave that address to the house.
Starting point is 00:53:04 She ran too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. It is like right there, so they could have seen. No one out here. That's what you say now, buddy. He cut the power. Please, just unlock the door.
Starting point is 00:53:16 He always does. Oh, no. No, don't. Why does he even want them to unlock the door? door oh is that through the wall yeah no no just like see through glass oh yeah okay oh yeah dude dude dude dude breathe get a weapon I guess there's nothing in there Wow, that handheld camera was effective, yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:03 Yeah. More realistic, I like that he was only shot once. Yeah. Because a man of his size being shot in the shoulder like that or whatever, like, he could keep it pushing. Totally, absolutely. Surprised the guy didn't, I was like, why am I not hearing more shots, but he had already gotten to him and stabbed him down? Okay.
Starting point is 00:54:22 So he's taking her. I wonder if he's seeing her home. Those two kids are going to be traumatized for life. Absolutely. Stay behind me. Maybe he buries her back in his old grave alive. And then the next film, Hand comes out of the dirt.
Starting point is 00:54:46 Annie, sweetie. I can't believe she's alive. She's still alive. She hasn't clapped her hands once. No. Or saying. Stay with me. They'll be here soon.
Starting point is 00:54:56 Come, darling. Over here. Inside here. Oh. I can't have nobody's come out in the street. You hear screaming kids. Yeah, no. And there's no cars work on the street.
Starting point is 00:55:12 Stand by that ambulance. So just wait there. Don't move. You're just going to have the kids stand. I guess. Like, I'm like, where? He's trying to see for it, I guess. This movie's excellent. The yawn was not indicative of the film.
Starting point is 00:55:29 Homegirls confused. She has no idea that's her brother. Who is that? That's another. Oh, it's her friend. Oh, the other. Yeah. That pumpkin that is blinking looks exactly like the first pumpkin that we, first pumpkin that we that we pushed in on linda wake up listen linda
Starting point is 00:55:58 linda please please please please she's dead i would focus on trying to get out yeah like she's dead grab that fire and the pumpkin anything what are you what do you want fair question will this be the first time we ever hear him talk no we heard him as a kid that true All right, I guess now is like an adult. Grab a weapon? Definitely grab that, girl. Oh. He's going to show her the freaking picture of their...
Starting point is 00:56:38 Of the mom gave him. Yeah. She's not going to know, right? Wow. She's like, who are those? Two kids. Right? Like...
Starting point is 00:56:53 I don't know them, please! The knife, she was thinking about grabbing it. I hope so. He wants to show her that's him? I guess, but like she's not gonna know. She was nine months old. She wants to... He wants to recreate the photo?
Starting point is 00:57:16 Like, whatever. Okay. Okay. Showing that that little boy is him. No, don't get the knife right now. You don't understand. Oh no, this is bad news, bear. No, no with your hand.
Starting point is 00:57:37 I want to help you. No. I don't. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Do you either have to keep stabbing? Yeah, like she should have kept, she should have killed him. No, but this is, at least she's doing some, like. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:59 Ripped the wall out. Come on now. She hasn't clapped yet, but she hasn't had much time to. I'm with you. I'm with you. Her hands are rocky. Yeah. Her mouth isn't she could be singing. This is one scenario in which I don't know that clap your hands is appropriate. Appropriate.
Starting point is 00:58:14 Perhaps now. Maybe now. Yeah. Now that he's taking the knife out of his back. Does she still have the picture? Yeah, do what it takes. You gotta do what it takes. There we go.
Starting point is 00:58:37 She is a beast. Yeah. Yeah. What a cool Lori. Oh. Oh God. Hurry, hurry, hurry. Oh, God, oh God. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:58:48 The way this is a shot is... Brilliant. It's... It's cuckoo. Bananas, for sure. Like, I have no idea if he's close to getting her or not. Me, I'm with you on that. Oh, what'd she fall into?
Starting point is 00:59:06 A pool? Oh, God. Is it a pool? Oh, shoot, right. No, oh A basement? A pit? Like
Starting point is 00:59:19 Yeah, no, it is, right? No way, she's getting out of here. You're gonna use, trying to use a louder? No, me. She could be clapping now, but. Yeah, she could be. She's shouting. Clapping is for when you can't,
Starting point is 00:59:33 when you don't shout, I guess, too. Ah, oh, somebody. She's not grabbing a weapon. Definitely not. Like, she could jump and get onto that ladder, but like he's right there. So like at this point, I'm like, I think you're dead. Oh, God. Is he just...
Starting point is 00:59:53 Oh, the stairs. Okay. Durer. Michael, stop! Loomis, you think? Yeah. Michael, it's me. Samuel.
Starting point is 01:00:09 Anthony. Ah! Please! Stop! Oh. Oh. Well, you gotta keep going. Okay, now go.
Starting point is 01:00:23 Girl, run. I know you messed up your leg, but you got to get up and go. Yeah. No, we have to run out. Well, I guess she thinks he's dead. Oh, yoy. All right, so now Michael's been shot. Michael's been shot four times in total.
Starting point is 01:00:41 Yeah. Safe now. Oh no. Oh no. We're not safe. He's about to just straight back raise up. What did Loomis yell at him? Stop, please. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:52 Stop! Stop! Stop! That's a cool shot, too. Yeah, I like that. And it's giving fall. Absolutely with the fall leaves. Love it.
Starting point is 01:01:01 It's not gonna be in there. Where are the kiddos still waiting next to the truck like you told them? Oh, right. Yeah, I was like, where are they waiting next to the ambulance? That's the boogie man, interesting. As a matter of fact, I do believe it was. Oh, no. Start driving. Ah! God! Mike, it's my fault. I failed you.
Starting point is 01:01:33 Oh! Grab weapons? Please. Oh, God. Wow. Oh, God. Wow.
Starting point is 01:01:47 Numerize for him. Oh, nice. Oh. Hurry up. No, she gonna get grabbed. I would hold a piece of wood in my hand. Is this where she finds out that she's actually a that she's actually a sister like is she going to see something i don't have awareness of
Starting point is 01:02:15 where she is right now yeah me either she's like under but this is like recreating the famous closet scene maybe yeah i called it famous i don't know if it's famous you just know what it's right Oh his eyes aren't poked out right now no I think he just like squeezed it enough to oh okay I do think it is a little bit of a weird makeup trace but yes oh I mean what are we gonna do when he finds you you don't have anything in your hand you know what to do when you have nothing in your hands Tara I know it I know it but That's a big hole for him not to, I mean, like, he sees you. Totally.
Starting point is 01:03:09 But pretends not to, or really doesn't? Oh, maybe he really doesn't? I feel like, oh, he's coming around the other side. This would have been a better time to purge. I bet if you took the temperature, it's 52 degrees. I'm with you on that. Do you want to share my sheet with me? No, my sweaters keep me warm enough.
Starting point is 01:03:34 Oh, oh, oh. Spooky A-S, dude. I think you gotta run the other way. Totally. Wow. The sound design on this is, like, so good. It's phenomenal, yeah, I'm with you on that. Oh, gun, yes.
Starting point is 01:03:57 Yes. Oh. Oh. I took my makeup to scratch my face. I mean, I got makeup on the sheet. I think it's fine. Come on. Cock the gun, start shooting.
Starting point is 01:04:19 Did you leave the gun there? No way, no way. They haven't really taught us about this house enough for us to have any idea where anything is, which is probably very smart. Yeah. It's just like in a different room. Totally. Oh, no. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:04:49 You can just go through the ceiling like that, huh? Yeah, start shooting down, I guess. Yeah. Oh, God. This is why we didn't have extras on the street. We got to bang up an entire house. Yeah, but you could have had some, like, five cars parked on the street. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:13 Maybe it was an ode to the originals. Maybe, yeah. Oh. Oh, make less sound. You are screaming way too much, and there goes the gun. Where is he? I don't know, I think she fell into another room, because that ceiling was well intact, so. Oh, no, maybe don't. Oh, oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:05:45 She can fall out the wind. ominous well if we're doing the first one he's gonna fall out the window right oh god oh yeah now just move oh okay so he took her with him that's gotta be the end of the movie bro it's not no if she gonna wake up and he's gone or is she over his Oh, she's on it. Okay. Where's the gun? Loomis is probably alive inside, right?
Starting point is 01:06:26 Yes. Because if he just did the eye thing and I didn't see his eyes fully poked out, then he's got to be. Where are the kids? Still standing by that ambulance. They're clapping their hands and nobody's listening. Can she not do it? Oh.
Starting point is 01:06:45 Oh. Oh. Oh. Okay, are we really, we're out of all the bullets. Really? It's gotta be one, right? Yeah, I think, but I don't know that we'll get there. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:01 Oh. That girl lost her voice in the next day, for sure. For sure. All she did was cry and screaming this. Good job, Rob Zombie. All right. Now I clap my hands. Oh, he did a screenplay, directed it.
Starting point is 01:07:24 No, stay on that. Stay on it? We don't know, dude. What? Well, I got to get to the questions. Yeah, but we got to see if there's... Okay, okay, okay. Now you're going to have to fast forward to the whole thing, bro.
Starting point is 01:07:36 Oh, rocks, do I have to? Yeah, of course, we don't know. It went to the credits, right away. There's all... This is the 2000s, dog. We might have post-credit. We might have something crazy. We gotta look at who's in it.
Starting point is 01:07:52 This is the first time you've ever done that. You're like... Really? I feel like I do that always. Where I'm like, all right. No, no, we always play the credits. Okay. Because you know, I have questions about the actors, too. She's got a lot of questions.
Starting point is 01:08:04 And we don't know. In the 2000s, they started doing mid and post credit stuff sometimes. That's not a Rob Zombie thing, but you don't know. There could be cool pumpkins. We don't know. We don't know what the credits look like.
Starting point is 01:08:14 That's why we got to scrubs through them. It's why we got to know. All right. Okay. All right, let's see. Oh, Mustafa. God, he still didn't. Oh, watch credits.
Starting point is 01:08:26 Okay, I think we're, okay, here we go with the cast. So, okay, Anthony Hopkins. Brad Doris! Oh, my God! See, that's why we do the credits. That's crazy. Oh, that's crazy. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:08:42 I can't believe that just happened. Oh, Daniel Harris was in the other one. Oh, isn't Daniel Harris? the one that I don't remember what I can't believe Brad Dorff was wow and we did not clock that yeah no not at all and he was the sheriff something wow yeah that's he hell yeah to uh chucky forever checky forever uh thank you guys so much for watching don't forget if you're on apple spotify five star YouTube thumbs up thank you shout out to Prepper for helping edit us down
Starting point is 01:09:22 and if you guys didn't know if you are patrons you get the chance to ask us questions which we will get to momentarily just as long as we don't have anything else going on with these credits other than Braddorf being the man yeah okay we got nothing else nothing else nothing but the mother effort hits here we go we're gonna talk to the patrons thank you guys for submitting these cues. You guys asked the greatest cues. I think that John was very accurate in thinking this movie was awesome.
Starting point is 01:09:54 So happy that we didn't just watch the other movie again. Those were starting to piss me off. We didn't like those. Oh, okay. Who have we got, Tara, girl? Do you feel like being the reader of them this time? Sure, yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:11 Hell yeah, girl. Yeah, you covered. All right. First question. from Ronnie H. How does the new origin of Michael Myers compare to the original movie and which version do you like more?
Starting point is 01:10:23 It kind of is the same origin in terms of he killed one sister. He didn't kill the other. He's now after the original one. He went to that mental institution after one of the sisters was juicing with another guy. But there was a lot of differences too
Starting point is 01:10:39 about the mom and the shitty stepfather or boyfriend with the kids. with the kids in school, all that, seeing all that was amazing. Yeah. It's hard to say which one I like more because I think that this movie did exactly what it should do, playing off the original, which is like it expanded on. Gave us a little bit more. Yes.
Starting point is 01:10:59 So I loved both of them. And this is a perfect, perfect remake. Yeah. I'm with you on that. Like, I do like the simplicity of the turning around and like the, in the, the first film. He's so little. Clown has the knife. You're like, whoa, what I can do? But I'm with you on that, that like we get to build on top of that. They still brought like the clown aspect back. So like, yeah, I can't. I can't choose. Like, yes, that's an impossible question.
Starting point is 01:11:30 All right. Hugo Torres. How do you feel about this bigger, stronger, Michael Myers? Because personally, I like it more. He seems scarier. It's so scary. Oh. Shoot. Giant, like big foot. Those feet. Yeah, gnarly. Ghan, excellent, excellent casting choice. I'll list you on that. All right, Garen, what are your thoughts on the shift from having Michael Myers in this enigmatic figure, this enigmatic figure to the main character
Starting point is 01:11:58 and having more grounded background to him? Hmm. Uh, I mean... What? Shift from having Michael Myers is an enigmatic figure to the main character? oh like he's saying he's more grounded now i think he's saying that in this he was the main character like we're in his pov more yeah um i liked it yeah that's what i thought about it garen i thought it was great shift yeah like it's it's interesting like when you're saying grounded
Starting point is 01:12:28 it's it's interesting to see his life as a kid it was obviously fucked up right and so they put you in a position of feeling bad for him even though and then of course cut to he's big old Michael Myers and a lot older, but I thought it was really, really good because they put him in a vulnerable position as a kid in making these decisions. Let's go to Jaden. Okay. I'm curious from Jane Rhodes. I'm curious if Rob Zombie style works for y'all. This movie is usually called
Starting point is 01:13:02 the Hillbilly White Trash version of Halloween. Rob Zombie works for me personally. I've seen this movie more times than the original one and secretly even kind of like better than the original. How is this hillbilly white trash? Yeah, I don't I don't understand that I thought this movie was great and well done. That is a critique I don't understand literally at all like we're with you Jaden and I don't know who's calling it trash weird. Um definitely weird stone trunks. How do you all feel about the excessive amount of gore, crassness and nudity in this film do you think it fits the
Starting point is 01:13:40 Halloween franchise or would feel more in line with Friday 13th. There was a lot of nudity that felt a little bit more like Friday 13th. I honestly like I'm not a prude and I don't mind nudity almost ever. But I also feel like when it doesn't add to the story, it does distract me a little bit because like I wonder why we're doing this. And in this, there was just a lot of nudity that to the point where I was just like, I wonder like for me as an actor, I don't know how you feel Tara, but like I, I if if nudity didn't add to the story I wouldn't want to do it right so I wonder how the actors felt about it yeah they I mean I definitely would not have because it's really just in these instances it's like oh we just want to see boobs and it's a horror so we're feeding into that trope and there was like no male nudity so it wasn't balanced at all yeah I'm actually with you on that it mostly always is like girls right and then the guys just with a shirt off or something or
Starting point is 01:14:39 doesn't yeah absolutely absolutely but there was like full on i mean she was nude yeah on that ground like so you know i didn't i didn't mind it um and the the gore and stuff i didn't feel like it was more excessive than the other i didn't think it was excessive gore or crassness just just literally the nudity yeah which i'm i'm totally fine with i just i didn't add anything for me at all yeah didn't add but didn't like take away either yeah yeah okay um Resonant Z. She Jax, I'm completely bipolar when it comes to this movie. Some days I love it and some days I wonder why they chose Rob Zombie.
Starting point is 01:15:18 Question, how do you feel about the mask in the movie? Do you like the more angry-looking mask or the more expressionless-looking one from the original? I think it was cool to switch it up. Again, like, I just like that we have both options. I don't, I mean, it's my first time I were seeing this movie, so maybe I will feel more torn on it in the future. But as of now, I don't wonder at all why they chose. Rob Zombie. I feel like he was the perfect pick for this. Yeah. And I, I, in some of these questions, I'm a little shocked and some people calling it maybe Hillbilly White Trash Film and then
Starting point is 01:15:51 being like, why did they choose Rob Zombie? And I'm sort of like, I liked it. I thought, I thought that it was, it was great and a lot of fun. And I, I think I did comment during this movie that I did really like the look of the mask. I thought it looks a little more savage. I like them both but this one was I liked it yeah good stuff Leon three the reason why the movie is half an origin story and half a remake of the original is because in the early 2000s nobody really knew how to continue the franchise after the backlash of Halloween resurrection did y'all think this was a proper way to remake the original 1978 classic and what changes would have done to the movie yes I thought this was
Starting point is 01:16:32 the proper way to make it yeah so I don't yeah based on these comments, Tara, it's seeming like people didn't like these, this? I thought this was a great way to bring it back to life. It's so different. And we're watching it in such close proximity and we still loved it. Imagine watching this decades later. You'd be like, that's awesome. Yeah, I'm with you on that. Like, you're just adding more a foundation to his story. As a kid, we're seeing how he grew up, why he made the choices he made. Like, you know, you're looking at, I'm sort of like, Sid from Toy Story. It was like, hurt and thing. You're like, you're a little
Starting point is 01:17:05 creep. Yeah. And then and now this is this is the outcome. This is Michael Myers. So I don't know why people didn't like you, but I'm with you. Whatever. Um. Angela. Okay. Yes. Angela Vance. How do you feel about them moving all over the place with this franchise? I don't feel like they're moving all over the place. Well, I mean. More than any other franchise. Not more than Friday 13, not more than Nightmare on Elp Street. Yeah. I mean, you're right about that. With the one thing I would say moving all over the place is the really shitty movie we just came off of that was moving in places that I went what the hell's going on um because the one the last one with Lori that we really really liked was like sort of an ending and then they they remake it where
Starting point is 01:17:51 they're like to yeah H2O we freaking love that but then you know we get to they try to continue the story and now this is like a whole rebirth which I guess is it's it's not a bad idea to bring new people it back into this movie if they're not sitting at home watching the one that was like done in the 80s or 90s or whatever like Riley Peterson
Starting point is 01:18:16 I've watched this one a few times it always makes me feel like I need to shower after I respect that they try something different with the story but I feel like a lot of the changes kind of miss the point that said my favorite change is getting to see what somewhat of a backstory for Dr. Loomis and his time
Starting point is 01:18:32 with Michael even at the version of Loomis pales in comparison how do you feel about the version of dr loomis i think anthony hopkins is such a great do you think they're going to shred me darrow oh god yeah i i think so because there was one point where you just went it's anthony hopkins and i was like nope gotta look it up i loved it i think i said you were like i think is anthony oh yeah you were you felt you said it's so short and i was like That's hilarious. Malcolm McDowell's voice is Anthony Hoppin's voice. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:10 So I don't know what to tell you. He clapped his hands for me. I like this version. I think he was really good. I loved the old Loomis, but he did get a little annoying sometimes where he'd be like shouting and be like, oh, but nobody would believe him so I get why he was annoyed. Right.
Starting point is 01:19:26 But I love this version. It's different. What are you going to do? The exact same thing? I don't understand the need to shower after. These comments are really stressing me out. Shower after. I'm like, there wasn't, it didn't seem like there was more gore in here.
Starting point is 01:19:40 And he was like, we missed the, some of the changes missed the point. What, what point? That Loomis kills Michael and that we see that he's still alive, that Lori is, gets away. But what do I mean the point? Like, usually when you see missing the point, it's like there's a message and they missed it. I don't feel like, like this movie missed it. No, I feel like we're getting all the main stuff, meaning Michael killed his, his family, right? Spent his psych ward, he's out, he's looking for Lori.
Starting point is 01:20:14 But, I mean, like, the OG, Dr. Loomis, I did love him. He's great. This one, we called it out when we were watching it. It was like, there's a point when he was in the car and I was like, that felt like overacting. I don't know why he wasn't redirected for that. But other than that, I think he did a great job. He's already there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like it was something where I was like, whoa, dude.
Starting point is 01:20:36 Like this is, nope. Tara, behind the scenes discussion for a quick second. Yeah. What do you want to do right now? Do we, what, I forget what time we ended. I'm curious about this one that they listed a bunch of facts. So usually we just take questions and we just take one question per person. A lot of you guys submitted two, but we asked at least one of each of yours.
Starting point is 01:20:57 Oh, this one. And then there's a lot of double ups, but we'll at least take D.K. lounges um facts because i'm curious couple fun facts michael's mom is played by rob zombie's wife sherry moon uh zombie who's been in all of his movies eight so far okay that was michael's mom she was very good lorry's friend annie who's shown to be alive by the way was played by daniel harris who played laurie's daughter jamie remember i was like daniel harris yeah okay in hollum five yes it's weird that four movies ago she was playing a nine-year-old and now she's playing Cher's topless daughter but Danielle said it felt very reinventing that she didn't want fans to see her as a little girl anymore well you really did that so so so maybe she requested that much nudity I don't think so I don't think so but you know I'm glad that she's owning it and going like I'm not a little girl anymore and I'm an actor and I am fine with people seeing my entire body like more power to you uh you
Starting point is 01:21:59 definitely after this you're not going to be seen as a little girl maybe she's trying to push herself into a different part of casting which yeah I think you done it I wonder how it worked because this was 15 years ago 17 years ago right 18 years ago yeah okay what do you want to do I mean take some of more of these yeah we can do lay on three okay we don't I think that's the last one no we have several more. We do? Yep. Leon says this movie has many cameos from a variety of actors and return of Daniel Harris, Jamie Lloyd in the original series of the franchise. What do you all think of the new character, Annie? We just talked a little bit about her. Yeah, we did. But liked her. That you did a good job. I thought that the friends in this were less annoying than the friends in the first. I agree. They were not, the girls were not mean to her, which was good. Ronnie H. Do you feel like the movie has a
Starting point is 01:22:57 disservice, does a disservice to the character of Michael Myers by giving him a sympathetic origin story compared to him being inherently evil in 1970s version? I still feel like he's inherently evil in this. He was killing animals and then went on to the family. And he doesn't have a crap parent. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:14 But no, I think while the first one explored a little bit more of nature, this one explored a little bit more of nurture. And I think that both are, salad and they're both going to somebody who somebody becomes yeah and this one did make me more sympathetic to him by seeing like how he grew up it was just crappy for him you know he was in a real shit environment yeah that the step that was such a p o ass bro i think that's our last that's it now okay uh nope this one oh riley peterson are there any change in the story that you really
Starting point is 01:23:47 liked or even like more than the original i think i just like the foundation and of seeing how he grew up and that the environment and and how that has has been indicative as to how he behaves in the world today killing people and literally saying no words just looking at them die and he likes that i thought that it was a really interesting choice that they had the um mom do what she did to herself because it makes sense then that her daughter wouldn't know what had happened, which is different than the original story.
Starting point is 01:24:30 Totally. That was good. That was a good one too, where she went, especially when he pulled out the picture and she was like, I don't understand. Yeah. You're like, oh, yeah. Yeah, she's like, who are you showing me, dog?
Starting point is 01:24:41 Yeah, like, I don't know. She said, I don't know those people in the picture. She probably thinks he's nuts. And he is, but different than she is. All right, well, we will be back for the second of Rob zombies remakes following two can't wait for that hope you guys like that one more than you like this one we loved this one so sometimes we have different takes my brother i was talking to my brother the other day and he was like girl people don't like h2 oh i was like what terran i loved that movie
Starting point is 01:25:09 the h2 oh we love too was like what i was like i don't know sometimes when we're in here i feel like we're in a cuckoo land yeah because like yeah because we'd be disagreeing with all the all the fans which is so weird it is weird that they didn't know that anthony hopkins was that's what we got a cut on if you're murdered and you know it bum bum all right later rejects
