IT (2017) Movie Reaction: IT: Chapter Two (2019) Movie Reaction: Grab The New TARAfier Tee & Halloween Sweater: https://www.rejectnationshop.com/ With Stephen King's "IT" more popular than ever, the Scream Queens (Tara & Roxy) team up with Andrew Gordon (Cinepals) to give their IT: Welcome to Derry Reaction, Recap, Commentary, Breakdown, & Spoiler Review! Roxy Striar, Tara Erickson & Andrew Gordon react to Episode 1 of IT: Welcome to Derry — the chilling new prequel series from Andy Muschietti & Barbara Muschietti (who brought us the films IT (2017) and IT: Chapter Two). Set in 1962 in the eerily haunted town of Derry, Maine, this first episode plunges us straight into the dark origins of the evil entity known as Pennywise and the terrifying undercurrents of a seemingly quiet town. The cast features Bill Skarsgård (reprising his role as Pennywise – Barbarian, Hemlock Grove) alongside Taylour Paige as Charlotte Hanlon (The Toxic Avenger), Jovan Adepo as Leroy Hanlon (Babylon), and Chris Chalk as Dick Hallorann (Perry Mason, Gotham)—all battling the rising terror that first gripped Derry. Stand-out, highly searched moments in this premiere include the opening bloodbath sequence that sets the tone for the season, the first eerie encounter with children hearing voices in the pipes, and the brief but bone-chilling glimpse of Pennywise emerging from darkness. With its mix of vintage 1960s Americana, supernatural dread, and Stephen King mythos, this premiere sets the stage for a horror saga that goes beyond jump scares — it digs into generational trauma, town secrets, and the evil that lingers just beneath the surface. Starting point is 00:17:11 Sorry, sorry, I shouldn't. He worked at the jarring, wet, pickles and stuff. I don't know, one of the machines jammed up. He said he climbed into the gears. I guess he thought he killed the power, but the foreman realized it was a home under station. It was too late. Oh, God.

Starting point is 00:18:32 And then, and then is she going to feel guilt for him leaving and going to Like she did with her dad with the pickle drawer. Don't forget to lay your clothes out for tomorrow morning. Remember. What? Going to visit your father at the cemetery. If it's all the same, I don't think I'm going to go. It's been a year.
Starting point is 00:18:50 You haven't visited his grave even once. Oh. I'm just... Not ready. Exactly. Give her a break, dude. If you visit the grade, don't mean anything. Yeah, you got to go when you feel it.
Starting point is 00:19:03 You're not the only person to have something... It might be helpful. Yeah. As soon as you realize that, the better. Oh, that's a tough way. See, like, her mom's kind. Oh. What the f.
Starting point is 00:19:16 That's Pennywise, I would imagine. Trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble. Maddie, is that you? Where are you? Maybe, girl, think about it. Why would it really be Maddie in the drain? Just please come home. It's very believable in this scene, though.
Starting point is 00:19:38 He won't let me. Oh, gross. Nope. Boy, really taking their time before they reveal Pennywise. You're the pipes? Just forget it. And now everyone's going to think of her as more loony than sure he is. Hi, Patty.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Hi, Margie. Just a second. Huh. Come here. Ha, ha, ha. Listen to me. We've only got two more months till summer. She's right.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Let's just get through them without giving everyone something new to whisper about you. Yeah, you got to listen to Marge right now. About me or about us? Oh, I hate to say it, but she's right. What else is supposed to me? There's a voice talking to you in the drain. Are you worried about what people will think of me or what Patty and all of them will think of you because of me? Jesus, Lil, I'm trying to be your friend.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Yeah, she's trying to help you out, honey. But sometimes you make it really hard. It's hard to not be believed, but also what good is it going to be to tell the popular? girls that you heard a voice in the drain. Exactly. I need to talk to you guys. Talk to us. But what about how they found her dad's body parts
Starting point is 00:20:45 and pickle jars all over the main? Oh my God, she's right there, dude. It was his voice, I'm sure. I don't know what it means. I just thought if anyone would care if anyone would believe me, it'd be you guys. Don't tell me they're buying into this cockadoodle story. You mean cockamamie?
Starting point is 00:20:59 I know. It sounds impossible, but maybe it's just improbable. There we go, Teddy. Yeah. So you do that? believe me lily i want to i'm trying to appreciate there's plenty of unbelievable things are there that people believe and i'm sure some of them are true i'm just not so sure about this one
Starting point is 00:21:19 yeah but he's being kind about it not in a condescending way i can't believe you gave her your soda that's what we took out of this conversation i wanted you to know that masters is going to spend the week on the train duty is going on his permanent flight record. Nice. Yeah, F Masters. I won't stand for that kind of horseshit on my base. Love that.
Starting point is 00:21:44 Great job. Yeah. That makes me trust you a whole lot more. I'm a little nervous now. I understand you served under General Abbott in Korea. As he tells it, you major, about the bravest damn pilot he's ever met. And to be frank, I don't much like to talk about it. Oh.
Starting point is 00:21:59 And why is that? Because we didn't finish the job. Well, that's why we transferred you up here, major. To test our new B-52. And if necessary, fly it straight into the heart of it. the enemy finish what you started bombs into oh jews
Starting point is 00:22:15 let's go juject she got so excited did you know that they were a Jewish family I did not Stanley was Jewish O'Hahlam Peri Hagghafen Amen let's go
Starting point is 00:22:28 Amen exactly Tara yeah I'm with you yeah you got there Rosh Hashana nope nope Amen. I only know one prayer.
Starting point is 00:22:41 So we just did the prayer for the wine, and then we did the prayer for the bread. And this is Shabbat. Shabbat. Something that matter, Theodore. Can I ask you a weird question? Yes. Sure.
Starting point is 00:22:52 My fellow juject. Do you think somebody could kidnap a kid and keep him underground? Oh, I give a vault. Like, my Vizmere. Yeah, just keep him there. In the sewers for months and months hurting him or, I don't know. Have you ever heard of something like that? The lighting behind him is brilliant.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Your grandparents escaped, Book and Walt. Their entire families murdered. The skin of Jewish prisoners used for lampshades. Yeah. Oh, God. That's true horror. They're Holocaust survivors. Awful.
Starting point is 00:23:23 We are Jews, Theodore. We know better than anyone, the real horrors of this world. Reality is terrifying enough as it is. Is that a DC comic? Yeah. Cut it up with the fantasy. Oh, wow. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:23:39 Didn't Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster create Superman to combat Schuster combat? Oh, God. Superman to combat Hitler? This is awkward. It's interesting, though, is I love that he's reading detective comics, but Jews are supposed to be raised to ask questions for things that you don't understand. It's interesting that his dad is so hurt that he isn't even acknowledging that his son is doing his teachings of asking things he doesn't have to be able to be. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Damn you, Pennywise. Lampshade. Oh, boy. I love that this is Warner Brothers for HBO. Warner Brothers, DC. Hell yeah. Yeah, all right. Detective Comics.
Starting point is 00:24:18 All connects. Shared universe. Jesus Christ. At a point, I just go to bed. Jets! Oh! Oh, that's gross. So scary.
Starting point is 00:24:35 Great prize. Was that what you think? Is that practical or is that No, probably That was CGI I don't give For a second Looked a little
Starting point is 00:24:43 How would it be practical? You could make a practical It's possible Not What With the face moving No Not the face moving
Starting point is 00:24:55 But just not moving Either way It was a good effect Are you asking If they really killed the Jews To put their face In their face of their lips Yes
Starting point is 00:25:05 Can't believe we're related I like him Oh, my God. I'm next, right? Oh, oh. I've known this guy since first grade. And I know when he's lying, and he is not lying about this language. I love that.
Starting point is 00:25:19 I love that. We don't tell anyone until we figure out what really happened to Maddie. Oh, God. That's practical, right, Tara? Gross. I think I might know where to start. Where? All three of them are excellent.
Starting point is 00:25:33 Should they go to the movie theater? The library. Apparently, Tara and I missed something that was happening at the library. I kept seeing the comments. What is she doing here? My folks couldn't find a sitter, okay? And did you know that when you take out a book, you have to sign your name? I can sign mine in person.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Oh, she's in something I love, and she's amazing. It was that she was just in. So good. Soos, I need a really good head writer to help me with finding a book. It's called Bucket Full of Muffins. I got you. I'll do it. What I saw her in, she was.
Starting point is 00:26:07 older though they shot they must have shot this a couple years ago wait there it is I hope she finds bucket full of muffins me too they thought it could be a runaway initially but when he never turned up anywhere else they presumed homicide go to the capital theater
Starting point is 00:26:23 according to police sources the boy was last seen the night of January 4th at the capital theater very close to January 6 at the capital Jesus Christ get the hell out of here oh yeah what did we say do you know how many times the police came round about that boy trying to fix it on my pops did your newspaper article mention anything about that

Starting point is 00:27:17 Uh huh In the basement of the Capitol In the pipes Oh Wow You really buy the performances from all these actors This casting director had their war cut out for them dude So terrifying
Starting point is 00:27:30 HBO don't have around No they have a budget And they're like find the right one I want to know who the team was Yeah I like that scar in his face I just noticed The one on his chin
Starting point is 00:27:45 Yeah Piece of shit masters Better not F with him Or we riot He wants more latrine duty Oh Maybe he thinks it's going to be him But it's really
Starting point is 00:27:56 Penny Oh right Because Penny wise can still mess with adults As we saw in the second movie Close the window bro Especially adults that are happy Oh Okay
Starting point is 00:28:10 What the fuck? It's either Pennywise or it's a master From the Black Lagoon Is that a reflection or are there two? I can't tell Oh freaky Yeah Oh no
Starting point is 00:28:27 Oh my God Dang dude This sucks Oh God shit If you want to walk out of here alive, you're going to give us the specs. Speed, range, flight, ceiling, payload, arms, everything. Wow. I don't understand you better if you took off that mask.
Starting point is 00:28:45 The specs now. It's classified. Oh, no. I'm going to kill him. I was just thinking that terror. No way we're going to lose him right now, right? Oh, shit. There's no way he's going to give it up.
Starting point is 00:28:57 He's not going to give it up. Right. Oh, shite. The specs. Or I pull the trigger on the counter three. Sounds like Jigsaw. Kick his butt. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Come on. Grab that gun. Shoot the one guy. You have to pull that trigger. Yep. Hey, he's not getting out the bluff. Calling out the bluff. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Get it done. Get it done. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. grab me the fuck oh yes yeah let's go let's go oh handless guy you're back i like that he's a pessimist because he knew something was up yeah for sure has this cynical take of the world yeah they're a good team love that same your ass again fuck you polly who the fuck were those guys but they just walked out
Starting point is 00:29:58 like i feel like the song mattie was singing comes from the movie the music man we should have another Oh, the music man was the movie we saw at the beginning, right? We heard them say that when he was quizzing her on who's the director of the music man, but I've seen the movie before, and maybe it was it. I don't know. I just missed the moment, I guess. Oh, Pennywise, please don't do something on the screen. Just a second, loading up the music man.
Starting point is 00:30:25 We're due. It's too quiet. Is he crying? Is he crying? Yeah. No. No, it's not him. Who is it?
Starting point is 00:30:32 Are you okay? Yeah. Oh, fine. I'm just thinking about Maddie and what happened and what I could have done different. Yeah, really, Phil, has a lot level of guilt. Oh, he needed me. Instead, I just sent him away, and he was gone. What we did was worse. It's not your fault for not kissing him. Yeah, you were shy. Didn't know how to react to more.
Starting point is 00:30:52 Maybe things would be different. It's nobody's fault, okay? Ted's is not your fault. Lilligate, it isn't your fault either. Agreed. We're here now. That's who matters. So just stop it, okay? Well said, Phil.
Starting point is 00:31:04 little girl's like, what's happening? Yeah. She's like, where's the muffin book? Are you crying? What? No, I'm not crying. Nobody's crying. Oh, he was crying.
Starting point is 00:31:15 Oh, that was a good reveal. Yeah, okay, so it is music, man. Because we've never seen Phil have a motion like that yet. So it was a beautiful reveal. Mother's of River City. Head that morning before it's too late. Yeah, in River City. This is too calm right now.
Starting point is 00:31:37 Oh, I'm going to say, is that mad? I was about to say that, too. Oh, and the other kids with him. Oh, no. Oh, wild. Is he listening? Maddie, we're over here. Maddie, hey, follow our voices.
Starting point is 00:32:01 This is like when people thought the train was going to come out of the screen. Yeah. Really? Teddy? Yeah. Oh, God, he's holding that demon baby. Ugh. You're the reason I'm in here.
Starting point is 00:32:21 Oh, God. Because you lied. Because you weren't there. Ugh. Oh. Oh, that's so creepy. Ew. He's doing the Pennywise smile.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Ew. Whoa. Oh, it comes out of the screen. Whoa. What the... What the... fuck is that thing i told you weird shit was going on over that airbase they made him shy fucking nude baby uh-huh they're gone oh oh oh it's disgusting ew it is
Starting point is 00:33:22 why haven't she moving oh my god whoa Oh She's like Whoa Oh my God Whoa Holy shit Oh my God
Starting point is 00:33:45 Oh no What What? I can't believe that Did that really just happen? I don't know I haven't believed it yet I'm hoping this is just in one of their minds.
Starting point is 00:34:00 Yeah. Oh, no. Oh, no. If she gets snatched, then we know it's in one of their minds. Ew. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:34:24 Okay, maybe it did happen? Wow Get your hammer ready, girl No, I think flight is the better move here. Yeah. Oh, okay, well then we gotta get another weapon. Oh, God. What do you mean, they're all gone?
Starting point is 00:34:56 Oh, wow. Oh, God. Is she missing a hand? Oh, my God. She's holding a man. It's the little girl's hand. Oh, my God. Andy Mochetti directed that one.

Starting point is 00:36:55 Welcome to Derry Episode 1. If you are listening on YouTube, please make sure you do all the YouTube stuff. Share the video if you are feeling rambunctious and feeling kind. Also make sure you hit the like button. Most importantly, don't forget to... Ring the bell! That way, you're notified.
Starting point is 00:37:13 Whenever we drop videos such as these, I believe we have another seven episodes to get through. I think there's nine episodes, actually. Or maybe there's nine... Maybe there's nine episodes then. I don't know. I don't know these things. Get your shit together.
Starting point is 00:37:25 I will get my shit together. That's why we got each other. That's why the she-jiks are here to put me in my place, and I'm here for it. Also, two, special thanks to the fine folks over at Prepper for editing down these highlights. I'm sure this show is going to be a task, so we appreciate all their hard work and dedication over there. And if you're listening to us on Apple or Spotify, if you don't mind dropping a five-star rating, we would appreciate it. All right, gang, how are we feeling? Who wants to go first?
Starting point is 00:37:50 I got to look up where I know that little girl from. You know I got to look it up. to look it up so Tara, why don't you start us off out? What are your feelings on the first episode so far? I love the show. I think it's great casting. I really like the writing. I think the way that it was directed, really great pacing.
Starting point is 00:38:09 You don't feel the time, which you never should if it's a good enough show. For sure. I think that it's wild that they already killed off some of what we would assume to be our lead characters. Lily is obviously very focused on. I love Susie, sad to see most of her body go, but we still got her hand, who knows what's going to happen there.
Starting point is 00:38:31 I am really, really intrigued on when we, like, when are we going to get to the sewers and see Maddie? Like, what's going to happen here? Because right now, we're setting up Lily, even though the girl in the theater will believe her, but we're setting up Lulu Banana Lily to be Lulu Banana Times 10 with this with what just happened especially because you went you know
Starting point is 00:38:56 Lutie Ben all that stuff so um I think it's it's very entertaining and I really like it uh go what about you Andrew so I think yeah so in regards to if we if this is not in their heads which it doesn't feel like it is quite a subversion of expectations
Starting point is 00:39:13 because I thought the setup of the loser clubs the loser club of 1962 I thought was really good I was really enjoying the different of personalities. I thought the chemistry between all these different kids is fantastic. I know it wasn't as many as we had in the first two films. Having said all that, damn, that's a way to like pull us in. Like we're so invested in all these kids and what they're going through and then having to deal with the trauma of just in general, the things that they are dealing with, like you got
Starting point is 00:39:45 Lily, right is her name? That's what Tara keeps saying. I don't remember them ever calling her that, but I believe you. Oh, really? I remember Lou. They kept calling her Looney, Looney, Looney, but I didn't hear Lily, but I believe you. I'm pretty sure it's Lily. I can look it up. It's not actually on IMDB. None of their names are there. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:40:02 And not only are they not there, but I can't find the little girl either. Wild. Oh, maybe because it's not draw. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Either way, I do like that they do a really great job with exposition. You really get an understanding and a feel of what these characters are going through dramatically, and you just get an understanding of who they are. and I just I love their personalities as well
Starting point is 00:40:25 and I think I can relate a lot to them whether I'm going through what they are experiencing or not I think they really well cast again not just not expecting what they did at the end there so that is absolute wild so I'm very curious where we are going to be headed now if the focal point is just going to be on Lulu and what was the other girl's name
Starting point is 00:40:51 that I really liked. The best friend, Marge. Marge. Yeah. Not Marge. The one who has the movie theater. Oh, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:41:00 I don't know. The one whose dad keeps getting accused. Yeah, yeah. Obviously, you know, very awful time. So if anything, you know, happened at that point, you get the finger, I guess, pointed at you.
Starting point is 00:41:12 So, you know, really wild times as well. But yeah, I think, like, there's a very strong reservation with her character as well. and I really like the fact that she was standing up for what she felt was right when it came to Maddie and like even him just a simple thing
Starting point is 00:41:28 is not paying 15 cents to go to the movie theater and you just to get a really quick understanding of who all these children are and what they believe, what makes them tick and all that and I think the show does a great job immediately establishing all that, what their fears are, what their strengths are. Personality-wise, I think that kid you said
Starting point is 00:41:48 who plays Phil, he's definitely got the it, factor as you would say and yeah really i'm i'm kind of bummed out too at the same point as much as i love a good subversion and a good twist i really like these kids too so i'm fascinated to see where we go from here if we're if this really did happen which it seems it did so what about you what are you feeling so far through or what do you got first yeah just to hit you with this for anybody who was like me like i know that little girl she made such an impact on me recently what was it from? Her name is Matilda LaGault and she was in Ginny and Georgia, which is
Starting point is 00:42:22 one of my favorite Netflix shows. So she played the young Maxine on that show this season, just an episode, but I remember thinking she's so freaking good. And she really was. Okay, I feel two ways about this show right now. Number one, completely did what a pilot needed to do.
Starting point is 00:42:40 Sucked me in. Had me by the throat. I loved the characters they introduced. I love being in the 60s and I love the setup that we have here unfortunately I love the characters that they killed off so so so like it did what a pilot needs to do and yet I'm concerned because we know that we're staying in the 60s for this season it's not like we're time jumping with the so if these are in our players I actually have no idea they might be they might not be I really
Starting point is 00:43:13 really don't know um I don't know if it's about the journey to try to get them back I don't know whether this was in somebody's mind, I don't know about, I don't know anything, but those two main boys, the bestie boys, had such great chemistry together. I loved them. But here's what we know is still alive. The girl who wore the glasses. We know that she's still alive. The girl whose dad was being accused. We know that she's still alive. And our, seemingly our main girl who didn't kiss him, didn't kiss Maddie. We know that she's still alive. So thank you for knowing all their names it just didn't stick with me this time so we know that we at least have them i could be wrong he keeps saying phil and i think phil's name was g who's phil who's g who you guys i'm out
Starting point is 00:43:56 phil was the one with the personality that we got the real it's really charming yeah yeah yeah he's not that he's charming it's that i think that he's going to be a star i just great i'm i'm totally with you on on that he's got a lot of look he's got that vibe yeah he's got like that um charisma yeah kind of reminds you like a young miles teller where he's just like a brace of aggressive, like, and his banter the way he does his lines. Say that name again. Miles Teller? No, it's a fan four-stick reference. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:44:25 Mycadipede is coming out. So I'm torn on this pilot because I absolutely loved it, and yet I'm concerned for the rest of the show now. But who knows, maybe they're able. I felt the same way when we killed off Maddie so quick. I was like, wait, but I'd be loving Maddie. How are you to do that? So I'm sure if they give me new characters to love
Starting point is 00:44:44 and they just keep delivering, then I'm going to love the show. But I'm having a hard time losing some of our core, especially the little girl. Yeah. This early on was really quickly. Yeah. Also, we didn't have Pennywise in the pilot, which I think is an interesting choice. Yeah. Obviously, we have references to him, but we don't have actual Pennywise. We know Bill Scarsgard is coming back to play Pennywise. We know he's EPing the show. So I think that it's also saving that could be smart, but as somebody who loves Pennywise, I was like, give me penny wise like one glimpse right give me i'm also really curious about what happened with the gas mask team and what that is about how that's going to tie in so got a lot of questions i think a
Starting point is 00:45:26 good pilot introduces a lot of questions and i'm definitely along for the ride yeah i'm with you on that like you get a little like man why do you kill our some of our favorite characters who we came to to love that shows obviously well direction well written that we both are that were attached to them but uh i give the show some faith because of how well it's been casted so far that my assumption is hopefully, you know, that stays throughout this season. That's a great point. I think because if we fell so in love with, if they really are gone, Phil and Teddy and Teddy and, Phil and Teddy, if they really are gone, if you introduce us to kids that we fell in love with so good and your writing is that good, if you're going to introduce us tomorrow, really these are the three main kids that are we're going to be following, or teenagers rather, that we're going to be following. I'm not going to prejudge it right now. I'm going to just let things unfold and see what happens.
Starting point is 00:46:20 It's just, I think it's just a, I'm going to be cautionary in the moment right now just because I was already so in love with them. And I understand what we're trying to possibly do here. But yeah, I do agree with you. It was fascinating that they held back from even, we know that Pennywise was here. We just didn't physically see him in clown makeup with Bill Scars guard. But it was very Jaws-esque Alfred. Alfred Hitchcock-esque in terms of they were adding a level of suspense
Starting point is 00:46:50 and making you wait to reveal him I'm gonna guess either in episode two or three so I like that level of suspense Jaws is one of my all-time favorite films you know they barely showed the shark in that film I think the shark's got maybe five or six minutes of screen time so I think the weight is gonna be palpable in terms of us like let's get to Pennywise
Starting point is 00:47:10 so I think I'm excited at the prospect of it because I think they really knew in the first two films at least, when to use Pennywise and when to hold back. So I'm truly, as much as I wanted to see him in this, I have all faith, especially Andy Mooshietti's working on this, I have all faith that they're going to know when to use him and when not to use him. I happen to love Andy Moosecetti.
Starting point is 00:47:30 I thought it was a really cool reference in this that we got that Flash comic book, especially because Andy... Oh, right, right, right. Totally this. But one thing that I did look up just now, which is kind of funny, is that the casting director of this also was the casting director of the Flash, And also seemingly was the casting director of, or no, I guess, yeah,
Starting point is 00:47:50 it was the casting director of Locke and Key, which is the other show that the little girl was on. Oh. So it seems like there's a lot of... Yeah, I've got a rapport. Yeah, exactly. Good stuff with Rich Delia and Stephanie Gorin, who are the casting director.
Starting point is 00:48:05 I got to tell you this, too. You made a great point there that he put the flash in there. He also showed a detective comics of Batman because he's supposed to direct Batman the Brave and the Bowls. So I was like, let me show both the comic book things I'm supposed a one I directed and the one I'm going to be directing and he's deep in bed with Warner brothers obviously I have to say that I know a lot of people didn't but I happen to really like the Flash movie actually and I'm a big fan of Andy Lucietti's I haven't gotten your guys's take on it chapter two I know it's more divisive than the first it but did you guys enjoy it yeah we really enjoyed it I think there were a few moments here and there where it was dragging a bit but I think because we were so emotionally pulled and invested in the Losers Club that the dragging didn't bother us in any way. I think the biggest thing that...
Starting point is 00:48:50 I'm not going to speak for terror, but the biggest thing that bothered me the most about the movie, even though I still really enjoyed it. I think I enjoyed the first one more, but was a lot of the CGI kind of pulled me out a little bit of it. But overall, I really enjoyed the film a great deal. I thought it was a very worthy sequel.
Starting point is 00:49:06 I think you could have cut it down by about 10, 15 minutes or so overall. I thought it was an absolutely great film, though. I love that series, the first two. film, though. Terry, you like to do? Yeah, I did actually like it. I think in my review, I was like, if they had cut it down, a good 20, 30 minutes, I don't think we needed all that. The part at the end, which I thought was going to be a really big payoff, which it was in the first one, he's a big CGI, like spider thing. I didn't enjoy that very much. I didn't think it was
Starting point is 00:49:33 very scary. I thought the first one was scarier. The second one, still a good plot, still a good storyline like seeing them as adults still enjoyed it i just literally had almost zero faults with the first and some with the second okay i feel you yeah i feel you all this to say that i trust andy mooshetti and i think that he's going to make yeah uh choices i think that jason fuchs if i remember i should look this up but i think he worked on wonder woman which might be also another dc thing let me see because i think he's a producer on this and also i think andy mochieti really understands emotion and how to pull you into characters so when it comes to that i have the most faith in him.
Starting point is 00:50:11 Yeah, he did. He wrote Wonder Woman. Oh, he did? The 2017. Oh, awesome. I love that movie. We love the 2017 one. I remember because I interviewed him for DC movie news back in the day.
Starting point is 00:50:22 Oh, cool. And I was like, I think that's what it was for. Obviously, there was other credits on the movie, too. But he was story by Jason Fuchs. Nice. So a lot of Warner Brothers, a lot of D.C. Yeah. All mixed in there.
Starting point is 00:50:35 Before we get into final thoughts, I think this should be a thing we say in every single reaction or review rather was there a favorite moment or a favorite kill that you guys had well i didn't want any of the kills to happen i've not i've been agreement but it's still a horror thing yeah yeah yeah is there one that went holy freaking crap i would say maybe the one with she birthed a fucking demon out of her vagina and they showed it to us that was gnarly that was gnarly um the reveal of the hand still being holding the hand after she reached for the little girl I thought that was a, especially if you're going to kill off somebody who is like five years old, I would much rather would see her hand than that.
Starting point is 00:51:17 So I thought that that was, for lack of better words, the most tactful way. I think that also stays in line with the spirit of the very first one with George that little kids or nobody are susceptible to being killed off by Pennywise, nobody's safe. So, yeah, unfortunately. But yeah, great pilot episode. I really wish some of these kids able to survive but very anxious and curious to see where we go from here
Starting point is 00:51:45 so I'm fully invested I think you two are as well do you guys have any other things you'd like to say where we move on no excited to see them next week all right well thanks guys if you stuck with us this long let us know your thoughts below what do you think of the show so far
