This chilling supernatural horror film, directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean, A Cure for Wellness) and based on the hit Japanese movie Ringu by Hideo Nakata. This modern classic redefined horror for the 2000s with its atmospheric dread, psychological tension, and one unforgettable cursed videotape. The film stars Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive, King Kong) as Rachel Keller, a Seattle journalist investigating a mysterious videotape rumored to kill anyone who watches it within seven days. Alongside her ex-boyfriend Noah Clay (played by Martin Henderson – Everest, Grey’s Anatomy), Rachel uncovers a terrifying supernatural mystery surrounding Samara Morgan, a vengeful child spirit portrayed by Daveigh Chase (Donnie Darko, Lilo & Stitch). Supporting performances include Brian Cox (Succession, X2: X-Men United) as Richard Morgan, and David Dorfman (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Wrinkle in Time) as Aidan Keller, Rachel’s eerily perceptive son. Iconic and highly searched moments include the “seven days” phone call, the first death reveal, Rachel discovering the well, and the now-legendary TV crawl scene, which remains one of the most terrifying moments in horror cinema. With its haunting visuals, moody Pacific Northwest setting, and unforgettable score by Hans Zimmer, The Ring became a defining supernatural thriller that influenced a generation of horror films. A masterclass in slow-burn terror and emotional storytelling, The Ring proves that true horror lies not just in what you see… but in what you can’t unsee. Let's get spooked.
I hate television.
Tell me about it.
He's been headaches.
Right?
You know, I heard there's so many magnetic waves traveling through the air because of TV and telephones.
They were losing like 10 times as many brain cells as we're supposed to.
All the molecules in our heads are all unstable.
All the companies know about it, but they're not doing anything about it.
It's a big conspiracy.
It's only gotten worse, girl.
Yep.
It's legitimately our jobs, girl.
Mm-hmm.
Do you have any idea how many electro rays are traveling through our head every second?
Tell me.
I got a better one.
Or not.
What kind of tape?
A tape.
A regular tape.
People run it, I don't know.
You start to play it, and it's like somebody's nightmare.
Ugh.
Then suddenly, this woman comes on, smiling at you, right?
Oh, no.
Oh, no.
Oh, God, I hate it already.
And as soon as it's over, your phone rings.
Ew.
Someone knows you've watched it.
Uh-oh.
And what they say is, you will die in seven days.
Oh.
Slow pan in is real spooky.
Yeah.
And exactly seven days later.
Somebody from Revere.
Who told you?
What's your problem?
Oh, no.
How many days?
Oh, it's been seven days.
You're with Josh.
Some of his friends got this place up in the mountains.
They were trying to record a football game.
I guess the reception was so bad.
Listen to me.
When we played the tape, the game wasn't there.
It was something else.
We thought it was some kind of sick joke.
Oh, God.
This is not good.
No, Buono.
We could go to night.
You're just trying to scare me.
I wonder if this is today, if the tape would be on VOD.
She's joking.
I think she's joking.
It has to be.
Like, this is bad.
Yeah, she's playing.
That's not how it happens.
She didn't just say that.
Yeah, I'm like, there's no way.
There's no way.
You're professional now.
You know how these work.
I know, I know it.
Did you guys, you know.
Oh my God, you totally did.
You a hoax.
She juiced it.
We didn't watch the video, though.
I think she did, but she was just kiki.
keying about the fact that it's it spooked her time i love that you just they were key key in it
it really is a tape oh god what if you just don't answer the phone uh-oh let it go to voicemail
exactly oh god that ring is so loud right it's killing deafening
empery residence hi mom misdirection
my mom says hi she's glad you're here ask her where she keeps
some bike in it. Okay, yeah, I will.
Oh, something's going to be behind that door, ain't it?
Yeah, right? Of course.
Ooh, you playing with me. You playing with me, movie.
Totally.
The light came on. It was not on before.
I saw the TV glow. No Justice Smith.
It's going to be fine.
It's really not.
I don't know that.
Bitch, where's the remote?
Nope, nope, I'm out.
I'm out.
Oh, we're gone.
We're going to, we got to.
We got to go.
Burn the place to the ground.
I don't even care if it's my home.
I'm leaving.
Becca, quit it.
Aaron, can you turn it down just slightly?
It's like so loud of my ears.
Thank you.
I got to take care of my gerbil.
Oh, what was that?
That was spooky.
What the hell?
What the heck, man?
What the hell?
Eliante.
Oh, God.
No.
Please don't do this to me.
I don't want it.
I don't like it at all.
Almost again.
Plus, I'm going to come from behind there.
Yeah, right?
Or they'll hide her, hide it right behind her.
Right.
Where's your friend?
God, what if it's all, they're subverting our expectations and her friend is dead upstairs?
because her friend watched it.
Oh, okay.
Oh, you see a flicker of the TV.
Yeah, she's totally electrocuted in the tub, right?
This is terrible.
Oh, God, oh, God.
Why is it so wet?
Why is it a vision?
Ah!
What's the...
What the hell?
Why was it not wet when she over the door?
What?
I made no sense.
Okay, I thought it was going to be a lot scarier than what just happened.
I mean, that was freaky.
Puntilius.
I like that.
Poked your eye out with that little red pencil you like so much.
Harby?
Shit.
Oh, I love her.
I didn't know she's in this.
I don't know who that is.
Naomi.
Sorry, I'm late.
I'll open the car.
He certainly is very independent, isn't he?
Oh, yeah.
He sure is.
I love how she sits on the desk, not in the chair.
Well, if that's a problem, you'd be the first teacher in history to say so.
I know that Aden recently lost his cousin.
Yes, and I'm doing what I can to find him some good daycare.
By all means, take your time.
I know they were very close.
Aiden and his cousin.
They spent a few nights a week together.
Did he talk to you about her death?
He's not the talkative type.
That doesn't mean he has nothing to say.
He knows I'm there.
Yes, I'm sure he does.
But he may be expressing himself in other ways.
Oh, the same. Oh, that looks like a grave.
I'm bothered by these drawings. I appreciate your concern that my son lost his best friend three nights ago.
Yes, I understand that these pictures are Aiden's way of working it out, of expressing himself, like you said.
He'll be okay. You say she died three nights ago.
Oh, he's drawn him before, I bet.
I didn't you these last week.
Oh, I knew it.
That's spooky.
He got some premonitions.
That's spooky.
Spookalicious.
Spooky as hell.
Or maybe he's a little murderer.
Dun, dun.
What?
You creepy kid.
He does kind of have a creepy face.
Like, he looks like a man, but he's a child.
A little bit like a grown-up face.
He is of a child.
Should you read something?
I'm kind of tired.
Somebody's eyes are black.
My god,
my goodness.
I'm not like even happened.
My God.
I don't have enough time.
Oh, honey, I know I've been working a lot.
I'm not talking about that.
I'm talking about time before we die.
You have lots of time.
So you know when I'm going to die?
Wow, he's so intense, too.
Good little actor.
No one does.
Caden knew.
She told me.
She said she didn't have enough time.
Oh, God.
Good night, Rachel.
What?
What?
Damn.
Good night, Rachel?
That's crazy.
All right, little man.
Oh, this is whack.
Sop with the Wack PlayStation Suck.
Hey, Dan.
Back in the day, I bet you people were like,
Naomi's in a bikini in this movie.
Have you seen my black dress?
What?
Oh.
Okay, little man.
It's fine.
It's so dark and dim.
Never been to a funeral reception at someone's house.
You're always seen movies, though.
Ruthie.
I'm so sorry.
What is she staring at?
You all right, Dave?
Yeah, I'm fine.
How were you?
Interesting delivery.
Like, I'm like, did you just watch a video?
idea, buddy? Like, what's going on there?
He sleeps all day. It doesn't move.
It doesn't move. It's too much for him.
Oh, he's just depressed as I'll get up.
I spent four hours on the internet
and I couldn't find one single
case of a 16-year-old girl's
heart just stopping.
Looked at three different doctors
and not one of them could tell me
exactly what happened to my daughter.
That happened to one of my very good friends
at 21.
She had a heart attack? Her heart just stopped when she was
sleeping. Oh, my God.
She was close with you.
And Aiden.
She confided in you.
Yeah, but she never said anything.
You could find out.
It's what you do.
I saw her face.
Oh, God!
What the fuck?
I scared this shit out of me.
I felt a shivering, moved through my entire body.
It was so still.
Oh, my God.
That was messed up.
That was horrible.
Oh God
So who's in the mental hospital
Becca
Katie's friend
All right
She was the one who was there
When it happened
I remember I was that age
Me and my girlfriend
Used to sneak up to my room
Get high
Do you think maybe she was into
It's not about that
Oh he's in this
It's about the tape
The one that kills you when you watch it
What was on the tape
I haven't seen it obviously
Katie told you she saw this tape
Not Katie I heard it from her boy
Oh
She was dating
this guy Josh he goes to Revere
it was kind of a secret
where is he Josh is he here
Josh is dead what what oh because he was there
What happened supposedly he killed
You see his face too
The same night that Katie died
This is perfect casting with this little boy
Like I'm kind of like
He's the creeper's out by him dude
And his eyes are so dark
He can like see her
Awesome
I also don't think his bowl, his bowl cut helps.
Oh, it really doesn't.
Like, they, they were like, we have to make you a creepy A.F.
He's returned to the scene of the crime.
God, he's going to turn the TV.
Why would you do that?
Also, why the hell?
Something invisible when in the house, I don't like it.
Where those shadows appear is a little weird.
We shouldn't be in a room.
It's not a loom anymore.
It's his.
oh okay oh all of them
this is weird
nope that was done by a ghost
oh
she's uh
oh that's Josh
she's gonna see something move
oh there's it is screen
confused why she was in the closet if
that killed her when she was
standing by the doorway it's not immediate what the warping of faces is this
oh that's weird well since it's like invisible maybe it just moved her
like i don't know high rise fall oh a lot of people at revere just dying 10 p.m.
Interesting.
Time of death, Wade.
That's all I want to know.
The name's Katie Ambry.
Pull the report and read the time.
10 p.m.
I'm Tilly's...
You're fired.
No, I'm not.
Yes, you are.
No, I'm not.
I'm cooking too good a story.
What is it?
I love what just happened.
She's so pretty.
She's on the case.
Reason made me think of the setting made me think of the twilight.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hi.
Take a card.
Any card.
Oh, boy, this guy.
Put it back.
Don't let me see it.
Not the only thing we're watching involving cards today.
Wrong.
No, I was wondering if you'd remember someone from a week ago.
It's my niece.
She sort of ran out on our parents.
We're going to get carded out.
Yeah.
It'll be a very cardy day for us.
They stayed here a night or so.
If you know, you know.
They were in cabin 12.
They had a number of complaints, about the TV mainly.
Reception's never good here.
That's why we bought tape players for videos.
Quite a selection.
Mostly there, hand-me-downs left by other guests.
Anyway...
Uh-oh.
I'm kind of tired.
I'm thinking I might take a nap before I drive back.
I'll take cabin 12.
Amex, baby.
Hey, this is your card, right?
That's it.
It was creepy as hell.
I would not be going in there.
Let's get the creepy-ass house with the moss on top.
Totally.
And out in the middle, nowhere, and you're by yourself.
What?
Why are you so close to the TV?
Didn't she hear the story?
Oh, no, she's never heard the story.
Oh, God.
Here we go.
Uh-oh.
Here we go.
You've seen it.
You've seen the, what?
Ew, that's blood.
That's blood water.
You saw the ring.
You're now singing a random chair.
Oh, what the hell?
Okay.
Oh, that reminds you of the haunted mansion.
Oh, she's looking at her.
Oh, girl.
Yeah, okay.
Oh, the blood dripping from the thing.
That looks like
A tree
Flying on the TV
Fly on the TV
What the hell
I don't want that
That was gross
Oh little worms
People
Now they're people
There's chair moving
Oh god
Fingies
Oh
A jump's coming
I feel it
Oh, spinach air, woman on a cliff.
Oh.
A woman falling from cliff.
Okay.
Oh.
Interesting.
Oh, well, whale.
Oh, you're locked in now, girl.
You're trapped.
It's got you.
It's got a hold on you.
You will die in 70.
Days.
Seven days.
Oh, spooky.
Can she beat it?
Crazy lighting with the fog.
Wow.
Oh, Thursday, day one.
All right, let's go.
I wonder if it progressively gets worse
if there's little things leading up to the last day.
That's a good question.
It didn't seem like the girl had anything leading up to it.
She seemed pretty unaffected.
Yeah, you're right about that.
Oh, I was about to be like, this guy's really short.
And they're really staying on him.
It's the kid.
I guess this is 2002 where little kids can just walk by themselves.
Yeah.
That's a pretty cool effect.
What does this have to do with a tape?
Take my picture.
I love him.
He's in Virgin River now.
Are you going to look at me at least?
Oh.
Is this the same camera?
No.
I'll scan the rest.
It's because after you get to curse,
then you look like that on the camera.
You can't.
Your picture's taking to you.
What do you think?
I thought you said this was about a tape.
Oh, great.
Should know more about it first.
Well, isn't now why I'm here?
So you can benefit from my wisdom.
Four kids are dead, Noah.
Not from watching a videotape.
Are you going to show it to him, too?
I don't show it to me.
Don't do this.
Why?
Do we do dumb things?
Another one down and dead
I wonder if the video changes every time
You watch it
What in the rear window is this
We're going to see some spooky
One of these apartments, someone watching her watching them
Everybody's just doing stuff and the TV's on
Oh that's this lady
Roll credits
It was very student film
I'm sure it's a lot scary at night.
You don't be like, you want me to get it?
So, you mean working a lot?
I'm not tired.
What if you watch it where there's nowhere,
where there's not a phone in the place?
Right.
Do you still die?
Well, maybe they don't need to hear the seven days
because, like, they got the call.
Right?
He didn't answer.
You know, I'm just going to go downtown.
I got to pick up some cameras from this guy,
and then I got to prep this thing that I may not do next week.
Noah.
Maybe you die sooner if you don't hear the seven days.
Who made it?
Where did it come from?
Make me a copy.
I'll see what I can do.
Make a copy.
God, now the copy guy, he's dead too.
Oh, is there more?
Oh, what the, what happened?
One message?
Oh, God.
Seven days.
Here we go.
We haven't even seen.
a hair thing yet we don't know if what we were doing was right right we got no idea there's a girl in
the video there's a girl with hair over her face oh really yeah oh okay when it showed the girl doing her
brushing her hair in the mirror cut to the other side of the frame a girl with hair over her face
oh so we did do it right we did it right so if you watch it before it hits your seven days
you get an extension right like day
Can you just watch it every day and you survive forever?
Yeah, just push your death day back.
Oh, she's the one copying it.
That's good because I was like, copy guy's going to die.
Oh.
See, it won't even.
Interesting.
These noises.
Friday.
Day two.
You sure this is a copy?
Yeah, why?
Time codes off.
Numbers are all screwed up.
Same problem got copied, I guess.
The numbers are the control track.
They put on the tape whenever it's recorded, which means theoretically there shouldn't be any images.
God, I want to live where he lives. That's awesome.
The makeup of the tracks is like a signature for whatever did the recording, like a camcorder.
So the control track could tell us where it came from.
But to not have one, I mean, that's like being born without fingerprints.
Then how did this get recorded?
I don't know.
Wait, I know.
And you should be able to see the camera here in the reflection.
The angle's straight on, but you don't.
See?
Oh, yeah. No, I see. creepy.
Wait, go back. There's something there.
Oh, you're right.
The little...
I'm going to stretch the alignment.
Yeah, it's working.
Yeah, it won't go any further.
Wait, no, no, no, let me do it. Come on.
Oh, shit.
Why would you do that?
Yeah, price.
I have to go down.
You know, I picked up the cameras.
Oh, is that his girlfriend?
Do you see the reference I did that Guatemala still?
Oh, her.
She's in NCIS, I think.
Yeah, I know you're talking about.
She writes for the PI.
Rachel, this is Beth, my assistant.
Well, I prefer partner in crime.
She's a journalism student at Kirkland, actually.
I'll stay out of your way.
I'm not even here.
Oh, boy.
More, partner and more than crime.
Yeah.
He said this is, he's a student, because I think he likes her.
I'm taking the tape.
I don't want her to see it.
I'm sorry, but I'm not going to get all worked up over some high school.
I'm thinking this is the part where I see your flake never finishes anything
I'm an obsessive bitch needs to lighten up storm out all pissed off kicking myself
forever thinking that you could just grow up oh so they used to have a thing then
of course what the ladder oh god we're gonna see these items in real life you do see them
Oh, God.
The last thing is the well.
I'll remember that.
Don't...
Watch out, Missy.
Bad luck.
You don't need that.
Does he know it's bad luck?
Bad luck to touch a ladder?
I don't know.
I don't know about that.
I don't know about that.
Okay.
Becca?
We're almost there.
Oh, I see no TVs.
Oh, wow.
Do you remember anything about that night?
Do you remember how she died?
Show it again.
Show it again.
She told you about a videotape, didn't she?
She was afraid, wasn't she?
Something was happening to her.
How did she die?
Please.
I need to know.
And you will.
Oh, God.
That was creepy.
She'll show you.
Who?
Who will show me?
Not now.
Four days?
Four days.
Oh, my God.
How does she know?
Great.
She didn't watch it.
What are we watching?
Home movies or something?
I'd really rather watch it alone.
Really.
Whatever.
She's trying to save your life.
Who is that woman?
I vaguely remember them parroting this video in one of the scary movies.
Oh, they did?
Oh, there's a lighthouse.
Shit.
Shit.
It's weird that when she stops it, the wings move.
Oh, my God.
What?
Oh.
Okay.
Okay.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
That's a trip.
She's straight up 11 now.
I wonder how they shot that.
That's cool.
now this pushing tells me she found it yep here it is just like in the tape same angle and
everything oh there we are yeah with that weird rock we must go there
we must go island oh an island oh you're going to see that girl on the tape
Oh, there she's in the black dress
Yeah
One of these things is not like the other
She's part of the team that refurbished the lighthouse
Anna Morgan
Anna Morgan's a common name
Oh, all right, never mind
Oh my God
Oh, is it the
Oh, it's got to be the pictures
Or something where her face is blurry
Oh, geez
Where the hell is this?
Right.
The wreckers room.
Somebody's got to clean it up.
Oh, no, I don't like it.
Yeah, that was in the video.
Yeah.
Let's solve this video.
Maybe if you solve it, we can save ourselves.
Let's save all future horses.
Horses recovering after graders.
Except it probably wasn't, right?
Oh
Okay
Eola
County psychiatric
Oh, she's just drawing. Do you see her? She's ixing out of face, I think.
Yeah, her hands is doing that.

The handprint is still there.
Wow.
We're absolutely effed.
What the hell is that little creepy-ass kid?
I know, right?
I don't want to see him.
Uh-oh.
I knew it.
I knew he was going to watch the freaking tape.
The girl climbs out of the way.
Oh, my God.
Oh, man.
Screwed, kid. You're done.
You're done, it's done.
Why, baby, why?
I can sleep.
Yeah, I mean, he doesn't know.
Who is she, Rachel?
Ooh.
Leave it alone.
Rachel?
I need talk to, okay?
Yeah.
He watched the tape.
Our son.
Oh.
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
Plot twist.
He's da Papa.
Ew, that looked like a skull.
I swear to God, the wave went back.
There was a skull there.
Reject Nation, you and I make decisions every day.
But on prize picks, being right can actually get you paid.
Now, truth, my wife is a massive football fan.
In fact, just a few weeks ago, I got to go back to our hometown.
Watch a glorious Denver Broncos game.
Never been to a football game before.
It was a hoot.
Needless to say, she's the real fantasy sports expert in the house.
She really gets involved, like, no joke.
And why am I talking about this?
Because we're talking about prize picks.
And what's prize picks?
It's a skill-based daily fantasy app, not gambling,
because it's all about knowledge and strategy, not luck.
You just pick more or less on two player stats.
For example, Saquin Barclay.
More or less than one rushing TD for those who are not in the know.
That means touchdown.
Joe Burrell, more or less than 2.5 passing TD's touchdowns.
Anyway, you get your picks right and you win cash.
You can play in over 40 states, including California, Texas, and Georgia.
Try stacks, pick the same player up to three times, or follow friends and creators to copy their lineup in one click.
And if your player leaves early, injury reboot protects your lineup.
So, Reject Nation, you can download the Price Pix app today and use code Rejects to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup.
That's code Rejects to get $50 in lineups after your first $5 lineup.
Prize Vix.
It's good to be right.
you take me a picture i've seen you want i'm in the yard at school you wish i was around more no

oh shut up maybe it was because my own was such a disappointment i mean i get it but you still got to try dog
Zoel.
I'm not finished.
You could almost draw a line through her life.
On one side there's this happy woman who spends her time with her husband, riding horses, everything's sheltered.
And then one day something happens, and she takes this hard corner and the light goes out, and then she ends up at Iola County Psychiatric all alone.
Yikes.
I think it has something to do with the horses.
I think we should go to the island together.
It's Tuesday, Noah.
I only have one day left.
Oh, God.
I need you to go to the hospital and find out as much as you can about Anna.
The image is on the tape.
We're leading us somewhere.
Katie saw them all too.
Before you die, you see the ring.
That's the name of the movie.
Mom.
Go to take the photo.
What creepy thing did you draw for your mother, little boy?
I know, right.
Are the faces?
is going to be like blurred, blurred or etched out or something.
Ooh.
Issa.
Holding her daughter in her arms at the time of the accident.
Oh, God, a horse trailer.
Oh, wonderful.
Okay.
Hey, you.
Oh, it's okay.
I'm not going to hurt you.
Yeah, but he might hurt her.
Oh, he doesn't not like it.
Don't get him all started, girl.
No, you infected.
Oh, God.
What the, that noise.
Nah, no, get out of here.
Just leave him.
It's okay, calm down.
Oh, we're done.
Are we freaking a hell out?
How the hell do they shoot this?
I'm curious.
Whoa, that looks awesome.
Oh, look at him go.
Oh, God, he's going to drown.
He's going to jump over?
Oh, no.
I hate this.
Chill, chill, chill.
Oh, Jesus Christ.
Oh, no.
Oh, God.
I really do not like watching this.
This is awful for me.
Kill anybody.
Don't kill an animal.
I can handle a body, a human.
Something about an animal gets me.
Oh, my God.
Is it going to be bloody water?
Bloody water like we saw.
You called it.
I hate it.
I hate it.
So much.
I need you see the records for a patient named Anna Morgan?
Are you a relative?
No.
I'm sorry, sir.
Yeah, supposed to lie, buddy.
Oh, she's been dead 24 years.
I don't think she'll mind.
It's impossible.
I've seen him before.
I've been up there.
Nice try.
The record rooms are downstairs guy.
You in?
Yeah, and now he's like, I'm gonna...
Hell yeah.
I do enjoy this is like a mystery thriller slash horror movie.
Oh, freak.
Mm-hmm.
Aw, quick.
Mm-hmm.
It's done very well.
I like, like, looking out for, like, what picture are we going to see next?
You in here, right now?
Oh, love this music.
The Morgan Home Horse Farm.
Oh, you're looking at the window.
I feel like Anna had to have an accomplice
because who's recording all this,
especially if they saw her call?
I feel like it was maybe that guy in the window.
Because that didn't look like her.
That looked like a guy, like her husband.
And maybe it's a way to give everybody else pain
for her losing her daughter.
Okay.
That's an interesting call.
Let's see, let's see.
Excuse me, Mr. Morgan.
I was wondering if you'd have a moment to speak with you.
Oh, my God.
I love him.
Succession.
My name's Rachel Keller.
I'm a writer with a Seattle P.I.
You want to know about the horses?
I think Brian Cox?
I think you're right, yes.
I read you had to put so many down.
Most put themselves down.
They drown.
How'd they get out?
He just broke through the fences and ran to the shore.
So they went crazy?
It would seem so, yes.
Or maybe they're just sensed things before we do.
Yeah, like dogs with earthquakes.
So where are your horses now?
I don't breed anymore.
That must have been hard on both of you.
You and your wife.
Oh, the mirror
Oh, yep
You want to tell me
What's really on your mind
Do you know what this is
I think it's a message
From your wife
Anna's on this tape
She's right there in that room
Oh God
Oh God
Run, run
Where'd you get that
Shelter Mountain in
Is that the only one?
I made a copy
I got a lot of work to do today
A lot of acres out there
A minute I think I'm done with one thing
Another thing needs fixing
What needs fixing?
You don't want to see this tape?
I don't think so.
Mr. Morgan.
He knows what's on it.
Of course he does.
Maybe she could help.
I don't have a daughter.
Excuse me?
What is it with reporters?
You take one person's tragedy
and force the world to experience it.
Damn.
Spread it like sickness.
Mr. Morgan.
Tell me, miss.
That's the name.
What is you think you know?
Maybe it's actually the daughter held the mom in her arms while the mom died.
I might have read it in reverse,
which is why she's asking what the daughter is.
i'm so intrigued i want to know i'm like walked into the mystery oh with the hair over the face
with the little girl oh god this movie will be the death of you terror it really well
oh oh those things yeah weird
oh my god that's the year not that she had that many oh okay i was about to say protected
oh god that looks like the grave the kid drew that was a tree on fire i don't know what that is
Oh, boy, drawing up a storm.
Oh, it's freaky eyes eyeballs.
Oh, God.
Oh, God.
Where did you see it?
Did you see it in your head?
In my head?
In my head.
In my head.
Oh, she's in his head.
Who told you to?
Little girl.
She talks to you?
She shows me folks.
Ah.
Does she show you the horses?
She doesn't like it in the ball.
The horses keep her up at night.
Hmm.
So she still lives there?
Yeah.
She must be a ghost.
Oh, God.
Such a good little actor.
He is.
Have you lived here long?
Born and raised.
Only doctor on the island.
Then you know the Morgans and their daughter.
Do you know their daughter?
Do you know their daughter?
Oh.
Okay.
I don't know how to say this, but I'm seeing things in my head images.
And so is my son.
My son.
That's why I'm here.
It's because of that girl.
I haven't heard anybody say that in a long time.
Oh.
She wanted a child more than anything.
They tried hard for years, but sometimes it's just not meant to be.
In one winter, they went away.
When they came back, it was with Samara.
Mara.
Adopted, they said.
Never did say from where.
Said the mother died of complications.
Hmm.
But they had their baby.
They had their horses.
Everything was fine.
Until Anna started coming to see me
Said she was suffering visions
Like they'd been burned inside her
And it only happened around Samara
Oh
That the girl put them there
Oh my gosh
Was there anything wrong with her
When Darby there was born
We knew something wasn't right with her
We loved them anyway
Takes work, you know
Some people have limits
So what happened to her
I referred them to Eola Psychiatric on the mainland
I assume she's still there
Oh.
Oh.
How can you not know?
We've been through a lot of hard years out here.
Mean winters, small halls, no fish.
And that was long before the horses.
Hmm.
See, when you live on an island, you catch a cold.
It's everybody's cold.
No offense, ma'am.
But what the hell does that mean?
T.
It means ever since that girl's been gone, things have been better.
Yeah, so, of course, she wouldn't check up on her.
You say you're the patient's father, right?
Yep.
Richard Morgan, that's me.
What is your secret?
Diet and exercise, man.
I'm not an idiot.
You try and walk out of here with my file,
and I'll be on you like white on rice.
Mm-hmm.
I don't want anyone disarranging it.
I'd never...
Long as we understand each other.
Oh.
Oh.
Does it say who was the last person who watched it?
Richard.
It was you.
That's why he was.
so oh oh right
yeah he's not fucking
oh hell
no no I'm out of there
please God no
Mr. Morgan
Mr. Morgan is no longer with us
I don't want to see it Tara
I don't want to know what happens next
we can turn it off now
we can just stop watching it
Back with other potential horrors slash everything under the sun.
You know we cover it all here.
We appreciate you guys.
We love you guys.
And we will see you in the next one.
Doses.
Oh, God.
Now she's in the mirror.
Yeah.
Stop it.
Good gracious.
Oh, God.
That's the essence.
m015 tape
oh my god
I know it's coming
it's coming
oh god
oh those in her mouth
oh
he's right behind me isn't he
god
of the live birth of the girl

Richard single
Samara yeah
oh god what the
that was the little
San Pete Day's real
oh I don't
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Oh, yep, he's the last one to watch it.
Then he made a copy of the tape.
Oh, her tape.
There she is.
Okay, she doesn't face.
He took it because that's probably evidence.
So what is it that's keeping you awake?
We must sleep sometime.
Do you dream about something?
What is this man?
I know, right?
He's really dead now.
Let's talk about the pictures
Oh, so those were her pictures
How did you make these pictures?
I don't
You don't
She'll be like she tells me
The devil does
I see them
They just are
Hmm
And you do to start telling me the truth
Okay
And I see my mommy
No Samara
Not until we understand
What's wrong with you
There's steam
There's steam
But you don't want to hurt her anymore
Now do you?
She's going to be freaking behind her, dude.
You don't want to hurt anyone?
You think so?
I don't know.
I don't know anything.
I don't want it.
It won't stop.
Well, that's why you're here.
I got to show my face for a camera.
So then I can help you to make it stop now.
We can make the movie stop.
Your daddy loves you.
Daddy loves the horses.
Oh, Daddy!
Daddy!
Oh, God, there's Daddy.
What is he having his freaking hand?
An extension cable.
that there's the electrocution chite he doesn't know he doesn't know what is he not know
what he doesn't know samara what is he not know oh she's never known to whisper my ear ever again oh

Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god.
That was messed up.
Ooh, God! Great practical effects in that scene. That was... I can't with this. I can't with this.
I ain't like that at all.
So we got to go to the barn?
To the barn!
The ladder again.
Are we going to go up to like a freaking chair or two?
She's up there.
Oh God.
Oh, God. You're going to climb up there.
There's going to be a chair.
I don't want anything to do with it.
She's been there the whole time.
She's just sitting there.
Why are you guys both going at the same time?
Somebody should be holding it down.
She's just at the bottom of the thing.
I legit can't.
I can't.
I don't know why they're doing the chair.
I called that, called that.
Oh, look, another little TV, so we've watched another little video.
Yep.
Somebody can call us and be like, you got no time left.
Her mother was going crazy.
Oh, God.
Oh, right, so they put her in the barn.
That's why they kept her up at night.
So he kept her here.
Why did you both go up there?
Also, how was that still playing?
Where the hell is she?
Oh, that's a great shot.
Oh
That's blood
That's blood
That's blood
Oh, mm-hmm
Mm-hmm
Why is the wall?
Oh, bleeding
That's the tree
Oh, burned
Who's watching your kid right now?

Maybe her friend actually did it
We don't know, we don't care
Oh, it's glowing down there
It's green down there

Today's the day, girl.
Back to where we started from.
Something led us here, the tree, the drawing on the wall.
It doesn't matter. We're too late.
Maybe not, though.
You have to help him.
What are you talking about?
You're on more day.
There's something in this room.
I, I mean, it's in this phone.
In this cell.

It's got to be.
God.
I don't want to see it.
Oh, the writing.
It's a picture.
Oh, it's scratch marks.
Oh, yeah.
Trying to get out.
Her body's in there.
Oh, a tooth?
Gross.
Hell.
She tried every which way to get out.
Sarah, she's in a little, oh, it's a fingernail.
Oh, God.
Where is she?
Where is she?
It's closing.
Oh, my God.
Oh, Noah.
Noah.

I know things will get better.
Oh, my God.
Why? Why, why, why?
Oh, that's horrible.
Oh, wow.
Oh, wow.
Wow, wow, wow.

Oh, God.
Oh, God.
I don't want to know where she went.
Really.
Not really.
Oh, okay.
She looks okay.
She's right there.
I thought she was going to be scary.
She is going to be scary when she has to surface.
We're not.
Okay, no, no.
She's just a sweet little girl.
Until she opens her eyes.
Right.
Oh.
Oh, oh, answer us.
Oh, God, she's going to realize she's been holding a skull.
Answer him.
Poor little nugget.
Poor little girl.
God, that's terrible.
She didn't deserve that.
I'm here.
Speak louder than that, girl.
I don't know, like, why are we whispering?
People in the comments are going to be like
She was in shock
She just carried her dead body
Also we never found out what the seven days thing was about
She made it
Yeah I know
Is it still the same day
Well I think that's why he was yelling
The sun has set
I know it's still the same day
But I think
That's supposed to imply that we passed our period
Yeah
She wanted that job
Wasn't anything in the world
She just wanted to be heard
Sometimes children
yell or cry or draw pictures
Just to be heard
which is what your son's doing.
Can't imagine been stuck down a well
alone like that. How long can you survive?
Seven days.
Oh.
Clicked right before she said it.
That's why.
You could survive for seven days.
Yeah. Wow. Wow.
Who the hell is that?
Oh, my God.
that oh my god you guys
I think that was somebody on set
that like maybe was in frame
and knew that they were and slowly
went back
like I swear to God
oh my god
we didn't even
oh my god
did you notice if I said it
no
that's like the Jurassic Park thing
you could once somebody shows you and you're like
oh that's a crew member obviously in their hand
this just call me sometime
unless you're renting a movie
call me tomorrow
Sarah, this movie is listed as an hour and 55 minutes.
What?
We saw 15.
This feels like the end.
I know, but I bet you would have like seven to eight more minutes and then credits.
So like what's going to happen?
I don't think Samara's done.
What happened to the girl?
Samara?
Is that a name?
Is she still in the dark place?
No.
We set it free.
Did you?
you helped her oh no yeah why did you do that she didn't want to be helped what's wrong honey
you weren't supposed to help her what god she's not gonna hurt you she's what is you ever here
murakine uh-huh don't you understand rachel no we don't weird little kid oh my god his nose is bleeding
She escaped it, but she can stop it.
The ring.
Now we see the ring everywhere.
Okay.
No, it's your time, buddy.
Nope.
Nope.
You didn't stop-ish.
Oh, here it is.
Stop a single thing.
Pick up the phone, Noah.
Oh, she gets out of the whale.
Oh, shit.
What's gonna do, girl? Uh-oh.
Yeah, what's about to happen here?
Come on, Noah.
Pick up in your damn phone.
Wild.
Oh, the TV is wet.
Oh, hello.
She's not in the TV no more.
Oh God, she's not in the TV no more.
Oh, God.
She had a wrinkly water skin.
Oh, my God.
She's in black and white.
Damn.
Damn.
She's black and white like the TV.
Oh, that's...
Ah, ha, ha.
You see her face or weird face?
weird face?
Okay.
His face is going to be all twisted and messed up now.
Is he in that chair?
No, he's on the ground somewhere.
His face is messed up now, ain't it?
He's in a chair.
He's in the chair, his face all messed up.
Maybe it's her.
Oh, we don't get to see it.
Oh, we don't see it.
Okay.
Too much money goes into that practical effect.
Because that girl looked really good in the closet.
Oh, his girlfriend.
Go to your own.
No.
He's like, shit.
She's for real.
Fighter.
You got to fight Samara.
Are we going to cut to the girlfriend seeing his face?
Maybe this will burn.
What did I do that he didn't?
You showed her kindness.
Oh, God, what?
She's under the couch.
Oh, my God.
The tape, to copy.
What did he do?
that I didn't. He watched a copy.
She just wanted to be heard.
I don't think that's why
she killed him, but...
She never sleeps.
You take one person's trashy and force the world to experience.
You don't want to hurt anyone.
Oh, because she wants her to spread it.
The story.
And I'm sorry.
Just get it. Nardly.
It won't stop.
Push it in.
Oh.
Oh, because the copy was made and she watched it.
Maybe that's what saved her.
And now she's making the little kid do the same.
What about the person we show it to?
What happens to them?
They die.
Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.
One loud gun scare.
Oh.
Robbinsky did this?
What?
That's the dude who did the Pirates movies.
Really?
Yeah.
Look at him go.
That's crazy.
This is wild.
Truly.
I really, I got to pee first before we get into this.
Oh, dude, yeah.
Do you think, Chicken, like.
All right, all right, all right, boys and girls.
It's time to review this.
First off, I want to say thank you so much for watching this video.
Also, thank you to the people over at Prepper for cutting down these highlights.
And getting us all spooked and making us look good in between the times we pete our pants.
Also, we want to make sure that if you're listening on Apple, Spotify, that you give us five stars.
So you can ride along with us.
Now, we're going to talk about our movie feelings, obviously.
But we also got some questions from the patrons, our royal reject.
So thank you so much.
And we will go over all of them.
But quickly, you know, our thoughts will be peppered in.
throughout these questions.
So without further ado,
Mary Soul!
Thank you so much for sending in a question.
I watched this back in college
about 5,000 years ago,
some friends at our house late at night.
We were so stressed out
that no one dared move
from the tight little bundle
we had formed while watching
those disturbing images.
One of our most impressionable friends
became almost obsessed
with the idea that the truly terrifying part wasn't simple wasn't the jump scares but the
realization that the evil doesn't need a reason to exist it simply is what do you think about
that it's insidious it's terrible i don't like it tell how you feel about it pretty pretty bad
pretty bad that's like that's a terrible realization but i i totally feel
where you're coming from.
And when you're saying like real evil,
doesn't need a reason to exist.
It's like they showed us little pieces of evil
along the way,
especially with like the mom having a bunch of miscarriages
and then obviously getting, adopting a daughter,
like it's all she ever wanted.
And then she freaking gets rid of it
because she doesn't know how to handle her, right?
It's like that whole thing, evil.
for sure yeah she's putting images in her head for sure she's yeah she's creating images that
she don't understand it's just all all kinds of bad she was all kinds of bad unfortunately she
was just born that way yeah yeah and i don't know the your question the evil just exists because
it simply does it reminds me of many moons ago um love with terror and i watched a movie called the
strangers and at the end of that movie you know the i don't you first of all you should go watch
the reaction but just there's a line from the movie that stuck with me that haunts me uh when the
killers are asked why they did the things that they did and tortured this couple the answer was
simply because you were home and it is it just is evil just sometimes is and
it's not understandable.
Some people just want to watch the world burn.
Some people just want to kill people through a TV.
And it's really terrifying.
That is very understandable,
why you guys all hugged up in a tight bundle
for sheer comfort and the assurance that nobody is unsafe
and that you guys are all secured together.
So thank you for sharing that experience with us.
We really appreciate it.
And yeah, the fact that evil is just around is a terrifying thought.
And it is very real, both, you know, in fiction like this, but also in our real world.
So. Yeah.
Yeah.
And there's a pimple on my face.
I would just want to the bathroom.
It's definitely bigger.
That's evil.
That's evil.
That's evil.
Straight up.
It exists.
Well, thank you for the question, Mary Sol.
Appreciate you.
Jay Rustin, my guy.
Thank you.
so much for sending in this question.
The movie fricked me out because
we assumed the mystery got solved
and then, well, nope.
What your take
on this movie? What was
our take on this movie? Terry, you want
to go first?
I get what you mean about saying
like the mystery
got solved and then it wasn't.
Like, we're a little
bit at a standstill.
Yeah. Because
she's there with a kid
she shows him the copy as though
that's the way out
then what was the last thing that we saw
oh him looking at the well
and the girl getting out right
that wasn't the last last thing we saw
that was the last victim we saw
of the tape but yeah
the last thing we saw was the well
and then static
yeah that was the last videos we saw
so now we've seen the video
right and the characters have passed it on
to us.
Yeah.
And now we're screwed.
Yeah.
I,
uh,
yes.
This also,
yeah,
I know,
right?
Like we won't seven days,
man.
Um,
the movie also freak me out.
And I,
I get me mean about the mystery being solved.
I mean,
a little bit where I'm like,
oh,
okay,
did they realize how to
not die by watching the copy?
So if we
ever see the kid again,
then I guess that's what
happened. So it's a little bit of it getting solved.
But my take on this movie is that it's directed really well. The writing was really good.
I love all the shots. I mean, I talked about that. The cinematography and obviously the
performances. Like Naomi Watts always crushes it. That guy from Virgin River, I don't know his
name, but he's always great. And the casting with the kids, brilliant. And it's hard to find
and work with kids
and
they were both amazing
especially to be creepy
children like on set
they did a really good job
and I think my
main take is that that real evil
does exist like I said
when she put the bag over
the girl's head and drew down the well
my head was just going
there are stories
that I know real true
crime of like
moms drowning their children because they can't like take it anymore it's so disturbing and that
really exists and like this movie highlights that and yes i wish there was a way that you know
we could turn back time and save those kids but you know we can't and just like we couldn't save
her no yeah uh to answer or not to answer your first question but to know
it yeah dude i thought like we solved it she held the body she's like she looked at her she's
with her in a way everything was peaceful you know they were going back to their lives but nope
the dad watched the tape and got murdered by samara and the only reason i knew it was not over
is because we have a roadcaster in front of us telling us the runtime of the movie and i was
like this seems too early for this all to be resolved and had i not seen that i probably would
have had a sense of relief that the mystery was over but because i knew the runtime of the movie i was
like no i'm still tense this feels too good to be true and lo and behold it was too good to be true
uh i really enjoyed the movie i think that it was suspenseful and it's all the stuff you don't
see it's the buildup and i think the mystery of the movie is the most uh interesting thing about it i
I was thrilled
and I was enthralled by
uncovering what
happened in this case
who were the people involved
why things were happening
all the different pieces and images
that were shown to us and
you know for a lot of it we did get the answers
but there are certain aspects
of things we did not get the answers to
the fact that you know they
couldn't have a baby for years
and they just showed up one day and had their baby
the fact that she's still doing these
hauntings and it's not about the fact that she was killed it's just the love of the game evil's just
evil baby and she was infecting the town before she was even murdered that's why they had to get her
out of there um so yeah that was definitely unexpected i think it was a very well-made movie i think
it speaks to gorber vinsky's versatility as a filmmaker because yeah i would have you could
have asked me who you think directed this movie i would have never said the pirates guy i would never
million years said the pirate's guy so i think that's uh a big props to him and his abilities
to tell versatility and his uh story creations um or or you know tellings but yeah i thought it was
really good um it you know it's funny the the mind is such a fickle thing because i feel like
and the suspense
scared me more than the actual images
that were on screen.
Yeah.
Because the only...
Because this is a thriller, too.
Yeah, I feel like it's more of a thriller
than a horror movie.
And I felt the only truly terrifying
image in the movie was when they cut
to her face of the girl
who died in the beginning and the tongue's all out
and it's like her head falls.
Because when they show the guy's face, I'm like, oh, okay.
I wasn't super scary.
It looks gross.
but the tongue all out was the truly freaky thing to me.
And a lot of it was just the buildups of not knowing what was going to happen
and not knowing how this was all going to come to fruition.
So, yeah, that was my takeaway.
And thank you so much for the question, Jay Rush.
You rock as always, man.
Appreciate you.
All righty.
Do you want to read one?
Sure.
Resonant Z.
I remember as a kid watching The Ring
and being disturbed from the video,
also because of how weird it was.
What are your feelings about the video?
And would you have finished it if you randomly found a VHS TVD?
Also, what was the worst death?
For me, it was the horse.
That was rough and sad.
I am with you 110%.
The horse thing kills me.
I just am like, come for any human.
No animals, please.
I, what are your feelings about the video?
Would you have finished it?
um if i had known like her she was kind of doing a research i mean obviously if you know you're not
going to finish it but then i feel like it doesn't matter as long as you see one image and you're
you're totally effed you're cooked so i mean if you if you don't know it's a weird thing to watch
like if that just popped on i think anybody probably would they probably go like the hell is this
Yeah.
Like, we didn't rent this.
We didn't, this isn't, you would probably have to sit there and just go, wait, what?
And then you're, you're dead in a week.
You're freaked out by what you're seeing here.
Yeah, that's, that's a tough one.
Because I feel like, because I would like to think, as someone who, you know, knows the history of horror movies.
And the fact that, you know, a lot of dumb stuff happens.
And, like, people would get in their nose into businesses that they had no business getting into in the first place.
And I feel like, I would like to imagine that I would see a videotape, especially now, and be like, hell no.
No markings, I'm good.
I'm chilling on that.
Plus, I got a phone.
I got, we got digital now.
I'm not clicking no videotapes, unless this is.
like a home video, something nostalgic, but, you know, everything's digitalized these days.
But for the sake of the argument, I am a endlessly curious person.
So my curiosity might have gotten me got.
And that's just the unfortunate reality situation.
Yep.
But if it's a physical place, I'm not going in there.
If I see a dark woods, hell no.
I'm good.
Nope.
Not that curious.
What was the worst death for me?
the horse was really bad
the horse was really sad
oh that was terrible
the bathtub was pretty hardcore
yeah that one was another hardcore
that was wild
I feel like it could have gotten worse
and part of me is wondering like how much is this
directorial
stylings of what they show
and what they don't show and how much of it is
what was allotted in America at the time
because I feel like what you're able to get away with
and horror movies is a lot more
severe today than the
20 years ago. Right, right, totally.
Stuff like hereditary and stuff like
Smile has way more graphic imagery
in those movies. Narlary.
This movie. So...
Marley.
Yeah, so that's
my feelings on that. I think that
the first one was they show that face
was definitely the most shocking to me.
So yeah, I think it's a toss
when all three there. All three were bad.
So I don't have to give a definitive
answer there.
Good picks.
Yeah, I think all three of them were probably tied
for one for me.
But yeah, dude, thanks for the question.
Gabriel, thank you so much.
The question.
This movie is basically what gave Gore Vubinsky
the job in directing Pirates of the Caribbean
OG trilogy.
That makes sense because it's early 2000.
I think Pirates won in 2003.
Don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure.
it is what aspect of his filmmaking from the ring do you think transferred most slash best into
pirates oh especially when they when they when they when they go from pirate to what do they
call them like the ghostly like that that kind of special effects i i can see that directly
correlating yeah no i feel like there are definitely some horror tendencies in the pirates movies
and the way he's able to handle things that are darker in tone,
that are spooky.
He definitely has a grasp on those.
Those, like the darker color tone areas of both films are where he shines.
He really shines in his use of, of, uh, is that as part of his job?
You know, the color, not color grading, but.
Palates?
Yeah, sure, palettes, yeah.
I feel like the color palettes for the, the, I mean, the director's all,
Yeah, always going to have final say, but costuming and set design will come to them.
But mostly the director will be like, here's the Pinterest color, like, aspect that I want to use.
And then they have to make that work.
Yeah.
So I think those things were really evident.
I feel like his use of building up suspense.
And the fact that you, you know, in horror movies, you typically know that people are going to die.
So his ability to get you to care about these people was strong.
I feel like he has a good understanding.
of that. I would say those are the things that kind of
in the immediacy of this moment come to me as far as the
correlation between Pirates and the Ring. Other than that,
they're completely different movies. And we've never known that he directed
this. But yeah, what do you think? Yeah, I would just say
like the suspense. I think there is
still some suspense in Pirates of the Caribbean where there's some
moments where you're kind of kept guessing of like what's
going to happen next, that it's not as easy to call out
every single little part.
right um so i would say because this movie was very suspenseful and almost like a thriller slash
horror that i would say this suspense carries over i think to the pirates and obviously he's a great
director because every actor in this i thought was brilliant amazing um again they're all they're all
heavy hitters so it's not like he had to do a lot of directing with them but sometimes you never
know and especially in those first few pirates everybody was awesome
in them too so i i appreciate him as a director and i'm like hey hats off man that they're
two totally different genres but he slayed it yeah he did i think he really did uh thank you guys
so much for the questions we appreciate you and yeah we will be back with other potential
horrors slash everything under the sun you know we cover it all here uh we appreciate you guys
love you guys and we will see you in the next one deuces
