Starting point is 00:01:20 I know that this is, I think, arguably, the most popular one from what I've heard on all accounts. And this is from the picture, the one where the rock is introduced, which is dope. Love the Rock. Go get chesties. Starting point is 00:03:20 This is at the top of my list. This was insane. Talk about it. I do not know how many cars. They practice. crashed. Everything in this movie was practical. Like I did not spot out any CGI. I think that this was like really brilliantly written. It had a lot of fun to it. It gave me Ocean's 11 vibes plus the Fast and the Furious like together, which is so much fun. And like in the same movie,

Starting point is 00:03:54 we also get to where Vin Diesel and the Rock meet up and get in a fight, but then also join forces together. That is a wild story, wild script. You would think like, oh, my God, that's a lot. And it's obviously a lot of good. It's a lot of awesome. It's a lot of badass. I loved every part of this movie.

Starting point is 00:04:17 And also, I love the fact that in this script, they had a lot of callbacks. When I complain about a script, I'm like, There's so many opportunities for callbacks. They had them in here. And they also really, really brought in family aspect, especially with her being pregnant. They take a moment between all of them to appreciate we got to stick together because we're family because we're welcoming. Like now our family's even going to be bigger, which it means more when the buddy dies, Nico's dad, right?

Starting point is 00:04:46 That I love that obviously I knew that Dom, if he gets money, he's going to give that to Nico to make sure that they are always. taking care of because the kid is named after Dom so it's like his godfather in a way and i really like that they just added in that family aspect on top of all the other amazing stuff that i said that it's it's all practical and amazing stunts i i don't not know how they did the the safe thing through those streets i am so curious how much of a town they destroyed um but this movie really went all out they must have had a way increased budget to wreck all of these cars and film that safe stuff, and I am 110% here for it. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:05:30 I am also here for it 110%. This movie was awesome. This movie rocked. Totally. Had all the things. It had the heart, had the comedy, had all the action, and had the stakes. This was great. This was so much fun.

Starting point is 00:05:45 It's super rare where you see within the fifth movie in a franchise that all of a sudden just gets this surge of energy and redefines what it, is to be part of this franchise. And the fact that we've kind of pivoted hard to doing the high stuff, because granted that element was already there from the first movie, and, you know, it was like a hybrid between, or mostly racing, and then the high stuff was like on the side. And that's how we ended the finale with the truck and like,

Starting point is 00:06:12 and Vince kind of getting shot and everything. But this one, where we kind of put that at the forefront, and now we've made it this Ocean 11 team sort of movie. That just adds a whole new dynamic to what this franchise. can be what these movies can be and adding the like an adversary like the Rock that was so much fun he's great

Starting point is 00:06:31 him and Vin Diesel and their rivalry is super fun I love the the fact that we're still doubling down and building upon this family that we've established in the first one and now we keep pulling in all the characters we've had from the other movies as well kind of taking these

Starting point is 00:06:47 things that had like a loose thread and making them more direct that stuff's great you know I'm super impressed with the action in this movie, all across the board, you know, from the opening scene to where they flip over the prison bus to that crazy finale with the safe, you know, that was awesome. And they do the classic heist thing or like you think that they left it and the cop is laughing because like, oh, they actually got away with it. I was like, yeah, let's make this a full-on heist sort of story. And I love that we've added all of these other elements to kind of make it

Starting point is 00:07:23 more intriguing as well because the other ones were the thing I like about these movies is that each one of them is different from the last I don't think we've had one feel like it was trying to repeat itself I think fast four had elements of similarities between fast one and fast four but you know it wasn't a retread necessarily this one is reinventing the the whole wheel entirely exactly exactly

Starting point is 00:07:47 up in what we can do with our cars you know having comedy that's genuinely funny and not just for the the sake of being there. We're not stopping to tell a joke. We're having character-based comedy. And we're continuing the relationships that we've really established. I think it's fun. I definitely get why this is everybody's favorite movie because, yeah, the action's fun, the dialogue's fun.

Starting point is 00:08:09 We have villains that are justifiably, you know, we want to see them get taken down. Totally. I just want to watch more. I just want to see where they go next because I'm invested now. We're five movies deep. And we've just added this new energy to these movies. And I want to see what this fast family gets into next. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:08:29 And I thought it was really, really smart. The safe part, I did not see that coming that they would switch it up into. I mean, it's just very, very smart riding into the truck on the back end and then be able to slide the other one out there. That's just really smart riding. That, like, gave me goosebumps because I was like, that's wild. I would have never saw that coming. how do they switch it out it kind of reminds me of like what is it like Thomas Crown Affair where it's like all the hats where you see I think I'm talking about the right movie in my brain right now I'm communicating with you guys moving people let's hope I'm right where what that gave me is the same that there's a shot where he puts on a hat and then we have an over the head shot and now all of the people in there have on the same hat so they're not going to be able to find the the um the killer or whatever like that's how he gets away and it's a very cool shot a very cool reveal and i love

Starting point is 00:09:28 that and this gave me the same vibes as well as ocean 11 i kept saying that over and over but i just think that it's very smart writing good pacing good tone i thought that they picked the right kind of music i thought that it was surprising how we opened up on a softer side between brian and you know his girl and they're like obviously in love and then we finally get into where it's like the fast and the furious vibe and then that music that we're used to really kicks in especially when we introduce the rock um and i really love it this movie's great like all around great 10 out of 10 10 for sure i think that you know we're we're finding new fun ways to to shoot action and you know to up the stakes of what these characters have gone through.

Starting point is 00:10:19 And yeah, is it like high-quality cinema? No, but it's awesome. It's just fun blockbuster. We're going to kick some ass. We're going to race some cars. We're going to take some money and have a good time doing it. High-quality stunts, though. Hell of high-quality stunts.

Starting point is 00:10:36 I've never seen anything as high-quality as this in making that work and not be C-G-I. It was not. It was practical. that's as high as you can get when even i'll compare it to like john wick four with stunts like i'm like yeah nobody can come up to that those stunts are absolutely insane this in regards to stunts with a car and the safe forget about it forget about it you know it's it's it's great and like we're even with the the racing is great like with the cars the on foot chases are great totally

Starting point is 00:11:13 The hand-to-hand fighting is a lot of fun. Like that was seen with the Rock and Vin Diesel. Chorography was good. Throwing each other through walls and beating ass. That was awesome. The Rock spit out glass. When they went through the window, I don't know if he knows it, he crashed through the window. And then after he lands Vin Diesel on the ground, the rock spits glass out of his mouth towards the camera.

Starting point is 00:11:36 What? I did not realize that. Wild. And if I made that up and it was just spit, it looked like glass spit. I'm pretty sure it was glass. That's insane. Yeah. That is wild.
