Starting point is 00:01:07 All right. I'm ready to get fast. I'm ready to get furious. I'm ready to take a drink every time someone says, family. Let's get it, baby. Let's do it. All right, Justin Lynn. Get it.
Starting point is 00:01:23 Loved everything about this. Fun. This is a good one. This is a lot of fun. This is great. all righty guys guys guys guys you've listened to this on apple or spotify make sure you give us five freaking stars we just watched fast and furious the fourth movie in the fast and furious franchise tarrah yes what did you think of the movie dude i really liked um this one a lot
Starting point is 00:01:54 uh it brought in the heart the family aspect i mean they talk about, you know, how Dom has a code, which is what I said from the first one. Like, he's got a strong, you know, moral code when it comes to, like, family and respect and all that. But it was mostly fun to see Dom and Paul Walker, like, come together again and have that sort of friendship and the chemistry and also the racing. It was so nostalgic to see them finally. But also, So it wasn't a story, and seeing them come back together again, it wasn't a story of like, this is a dumb way to get him back together, right? Because it could be, they could have just, I don't know, thrown together obviously a worse story. And I thought that this one really came
Starting point is 00:02:42 through with obviously, you know, Michelle Rodriguez dying and then Dom being sent back to L.A. That would be probably the only thing that would make him come back to a state where he's like obviously going to get snatched up. So I really liked the writing a lot and I liked the pacing of the movie. I thought that it was really well-paced. I didn't feel like it was like taking a lot of time. And obviously I love the heart in it. Like the scenes that I wanted in the last movie happened here, right?
Starting point is 00:03:16 They happened between Paul Walker and the girlfriend in the beginning and also obviously at the end and they happened a lot with him and Dom and especially with Dom at the end. And like I said, when I say you need to add more heart into a script, that scene with Dom when they're in the garage takes two minutes. But it's two minutes that we needed that just builds up that relationship more. So when we eventually see Paul Walker kind of like maybe he's dying, we don't know at the end and Dom comes up and they make a joke and they kind of laugh about it and he's like, Dom, you should get out of here.
Starting point is 00:03:50 We understand the relationship more and we care about it more. We're like, we're going to like kind of laugh with them. Right. And now we really understand when he goes to like break him out because we got those small moments in the writing that brought us back to that relationship that no, we didn't need to spend a half hour on. You just need to give us something. And this movie did that. And they did it in a great way. Yeah, I agree. I think this movie was a lot of fun. It kind of was a return to form from the first two movies. But what giving us that heart that we're kind of asking for or missing kind of that third one. And yeah, just seeing these characters come back
Starting point is 00:04:28 And I can only imagine from the fan of this franchise perspective How rewarding that was to get that return to form After not seeing these characters interact for so long You know, for I think eight movies deep like nine, eight or nine years apart Yeah, I really I really enjoyed it You know I think that the chemistry is still there The heart's still there The action is still there
Starting point is 00:04:52 It's funny this one kind of got away from the racing a bit but I didn't mind because I feel like they did a good job of keeping the stakes and the character at the forefront of the story and having a way to incorporate the racing into it while still allowing it to flow naturally was was very cool. Yeah, I just really like this world and I like the way that they shoot their action. I like the way that the mystery was unfolding. You know, I think it was one of those Swiss where you're like, okay, like, I think it might be that guy, but there's so many like red herrings and misdirections by the time we get to the who we think is Braga, you're like, oh, dang, okay, of course, it's the guy we've been
Starting point is 00:05:40 following the whole time. I feel like that makes the most sense based off of the story we've kind of played out, you know, and yeah, I just, it was interesting seeing this sort of melding between the the more active police side of things in the second one and the more heisty, more down-to-earth elements of the first one and finding the best of both worlds what makes this one kind of stand above the third one. And I hope that the franchise continues to go in that direction. I feel like the action was very engaging. I don't know if it jumped the shark kind of how we've kind of heard this story or this franchise has a reputation of doing. I feel like the first two as far as like the crazy ridiculousness goes or still stand above
Starting point is 00:06:30 at least in that aspect, which I don't mind. I think this was still very engaging and very tense because this movie has a great job of knowing how to build tension over the course of the story where there'd be like him trying to get rid of the tracker or them trying to get through the caves before they're caught by the authorities and whatnot. Like all that stuff was great and yeah i'm curious to see how this franchise goes forward how these movies go forward because brian yet again is you know breaking the law and going against his orders and i imagine this is the furthest extent because i feel like the in the first one he let a fugitive go and then in this one he i guess he technically let him go again like i'm not going to tell you where my guy is and
Starting point is 00:07:11 then we're going to use that as leverage later and now he's straight up uh was aiding and abetting Is that the, what's called? Yeah, I got, jailbreak, literally jailbreaking. So I don't know how they're going to go forward with this, with this next one. But, yeah, I'm long for the ride. I'm excited. Yeah, I love it when Paul Walker's character goes rogue. It's great.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Yeah. Like, that's what we want. We just want the relationship between, what is his character's name? Brian. Thank you. Between Brian and Dom to, like, last forever, obviously. But we still have to, like, you know, drum up the drama in between them. but, I mean, it would be great, but probably too happy of a story if they do break out Dom and Paul is,
Starting point is 00:07:55 Brian is back with, you know, Dom's sister and like, you're one big happy family, but like, what's going to come between them if that's what the next one could be, right? But I'm just curious to see where they'll take this. I love this franchise. This movie is a blastoroni. So much fun. I loved also all the acting in this. I really liked a lot.
Starting point is 00:08:19 I didn't find any issues with any of them. It was just great. I think in the last one I was kind of complaining about the one girl, but like she just had a few lines where I was like, I think you got like you're real pretty, but there was like some lines where I was like, that's like not believable. And it's so odd because sometimes I'll say
Starting point is 00:08:36 it's either the actor or it could be a direction. There could be a director who's like, no, I need it like bigger or it needs to be this. And then you say it and they use that in the editing. You're like, I hate everything I did, but okay. But in this one, I didn't feel, there was nothing wrong with it. It's all great. The chemistry is great.
Starting point is 00:08:54 I love that they added Wonder Woman in it. Great casting with that. That they're adding in also the code with Dom when he basically explains everything about Letty and he tells the very gorgeous Wonder Woman in front of him, you're not that. That also speaks to why. in the end when she's like, why'd you let my brother go? And he says he just has a code, which he does.
Starting point is 00:09:20 Even when it comes to like women, cars, family, he's got a code that he's going to follow, which no other guy would turn down Wonder Woman, right? But somehow to us from the audience's perspective, because the way that they have set up Dom, we believe that he would say no to her face. Yeah, he's very disciplined and he has a, yeah, he's very, steadfast in his his beliefs and his morals. Totally. Yeah, it makes him very respectable. It makes it's
Starting point is 00:09:51 believable why someone like Brian would kind of give everything up for someone like Dom because even though he is a criminal, he is more of a stand-up guy than probably some of the people who are part of the Bureau, which is a little ironic. Totally. You know, they're for the law and he is technically a criminal.
Starting point is 00:10:07 But it's just about moral character. And I think the thing that surprised me most about this movie is the fact that it's the same director as the last one, I'm like, Okay, this man clearly took some notes. Or maybe it was the script. I don't know what it was because maybe some of the editing because I felt like at the end of the day.
Starting point is 00:10:22 I still had fun with it. I still, we still liked it overall. I don't think it's my favorite of the franchise, but I felt like that one had more style than substance. Whereas I feel like this one, like the style and substance are on par with one another. You said we didn't, what, you were talking about three. Yeah, so like three had more style than substance. Right, got it.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Where this one had style and substance. correct they're both in the same playing field yep and yeah i think that's what makes for the most enjoyable experience and it just was it was awesome yeah it was a fun time i love it if they keep going in this direction i will i'm obviously on board 100 and i think if just didn't take notes or if they're just like we need to get a better script because i mean even we both talked about i was like i have notes that i could give you which would make this better and remember i mentioned i was like callbacks how many callbacks were in this? At least three. At least three to the first to the first one.
Starting point is 00:11:20 And they were all very meaningful callbacks. That all you need is that one line of like, yeah, well, you know, crash with a car back there. You owe me a 10 second car. Great. That's what we need. Just to build the relationship. We don't need a full 30 minutes, but we do need something. And that is one thing that the last script was missing. And I'm glad that this one brought it back. yeah man i think as long as you have some sort of grounding and some sort of heart you know isn't it be shakespeare this isn't like oscar bait or anything but you know it's because it it has that sense of heart and we have characters we can get behind likable characters that we understand their motivations yeah doing awesome shit that's what makes this stuff fun that's what makes this
Starting point is 00:12:04 such a blast and i can easily have seen people like you know eating their popcorn cheering of the theater like this is like the quintessential blockbuster experience that's not you know within like what we are kind of inundated with which i love myself like the comic book movies like the sci-fi and whatnot even though i hear that this kind of goes into the realm of more sci-fi but this is still like semblance of of grounding even though it's not but that's okay i i love it anyway i'm having a good time and i hope you guys have enjoyed us watching yeah yeah good times we're going to get out of here I love you guys. Don't forget to go to RejectNation Shop.com.
Starting point is 00:12:40 He's wearing his chesty's shirt. Right now, if they can put up, I don't think they put up ads at the end, but go to RejectNation Shop.com.
