Shall we watch Part 2?
Let's do it.
Okay.
Maybe that was Paul
Because it didn't look like mom anymore
But also
Where are the other friends
Exactly, Rex and the other girl
I guess they just survived
Because they got wasted at the bar
You kept saying Rex and I don't
I never heard
I know you said that
But I never heard anybody call him that
Yeah he in the very very beginning
He's like hey I'm Rex
And in my brain I went
He looks exactly like a Rex
I had heard Max
really i don't know something like that you guys can let us know in the comments if it was rest or max i'm not sure
we don't know we'll look it up we'll look it up um okay that movie ended just now yeah so we just watch
friday thirteenth part two still no mask um listen if you haven't already no joke everyone's
talking about these sweaters just they're so comfortable if you have bought one please send us a
photo of you in them. We will retweet,
repost, re-story, whatever.
We want it. Send us a picture of your order.
We love, we love posting that that somebody
ordered them. Yeah, or send you in it,
whatever it is. Rejectnationshop.com.
Listen.
If you're on Apple and Spotify,
five stars. Okay, listen.
What'd you think of this movie?
Okay.
The flip
of when the girl gets the sweater
on and she turns into the mom,
I really like that switch.
Didn't see it coming.
That was the one, like, truly creative move of this.
I agree.
It didn't make much sense to me, considering we saw her not be able to think on her toes at all in any way.
But she did hear the legend when they were around us.
She gave him notes on Part 2, so she really knew that story.
Yeah.
And maybe she's not a fighter.
She's a thinker.
But, like, just her inability.
Paul.
Paul.
I know.
That was weird.
So, like, then for her to be like, actually, I'm going to play the part of his mom right now.
Yeah.
But that was a really cool plot point.
I agree.
That was my favorite part.
I was like, I was a shocker to me.
And I went, yeah, that makes up for the kind of the rest of this movie and being slow and being kind of a copycat from the first one.
It's the same thing of a person going around camp killing the kids.
We don't really see any of the guy yet till the end.
But the reveal of Swamp Boy at the end, I, that's what I.
I wanted to see and I got it.
And he looked freaking disgusting.
The one eye to a situation.
I mean, his face was all weird and like lumpy and just that was gnarly.
And I loved all the special effects in that.
That was phenomenal.
So are we assuming that Jason got out of the water, didn't drown and has been living in the forest?
Out of the water.
Yeah.
And he's been living in the forest.
Or are you thinking this some kind of a supernatural thing?
I think that he's been in and out of the water.
If that's the case,
why didn't he ever see his mom?
I think that maybe he did.
Maybe, maybe, maybe he did see his.
So you don't think he died.
You think he really was alive and his mom was that upset
even though because of his face?
It's just that I have questions.
I understand it's a horror movie and it's like fine.
But I have questions.
Me too.
I have questions about all of these movies.
Like our favorite franchise is Chucky and that is about like a human in a doll's body.
But they explain it in the movie.
They do.
We work in this world, but they explain it in the movie.
In this movie, I'm lacking a little explanation of what's happening here, which is fine.
But also on top of that, I didn't love the women, which is also fine because of the time period.
But it was the same movie as the first.
They made them stronger.
They made them very weak in this one.
Yeah.
especially at times stereotypical yes yes um like even with some of the lines like about the flirting
lines it was like what what boys what save your energy young boys what dream is like yeah yeah because
i've come up here yeah but i don't mind that because it's like horror sexy yeah it's like this
movie just i'll be honest it didn't land for me the way i like the first one a lot better yeah this
one did not land for me but what is cool is that i'm still curious about this franchise
me too swamp boy go murderous rampage interested love it because once once the um
kind of the flip happy we we saw the kill in the wheelchair that was the big it the better kill
of like once he gets that night that looked awesome great special effects there no payoff of that
but he's talking about like yeah I think I'm going to be able to use my legs again absolutely not what
are you training for we have no idea right there's every there's so many gems they kept saying
these lines where it's like oh there could be such a moment there
I'm always late. I'll never be late again. I think I'll be able to use my legs again.
Like there was so much future talk and then they're just dead.
No payoffs. Absolutely. I feel like as though was this so late back in the day that when you write a script you don't know what callbacks are? I don't know. I doubt it because we had plenty of those in other movies in the late 70s.
I think that my favorite parts were when it got into the kills, which was like the last 30 minutes of the movie, that was our movie.
that we enjoy that that was what we were waiting for but it's like the buildup to it was a steal
from the first movie which i guess if we had never seen the first movie it would been like cool
but we kind of felt it all coming so this came out in 81 okay so the first one that we watched
came out in 80 this came out in 81 quick let me tell you some stuff which is funny because
they spent the first five minutes retelling us what happened um the director steve miner he
He directed Halloween, H20, 20 years later.
He directed this.
He did some Once Upon a Time, which I actually loved.
He did Warlock House.
Okay, he does a lot of TV shows, Switched Up Birth, Make It or Break It, Chasing Life.
So a bunch of TV shows.
Let's talk a little bit about some trivia things going on here.
Can you check?
Is it the same producer for this film and the last film?
I would love to know.
Of which of the producers?
Any of them.
The EP or?
Okay, I'll tell you the five producers on this, and then I'll go look at the last one.
Lisa Beresomian, Tom Gruenberg, Frank Mancuso, Steve Minner, Miner, Dennis Stewart Murphy.
Okay.
Now let's see if they're in the...
Yeah.
You do have a phone as well.
Oh, right.
But I've got you.
This one, Stephen S. Cunningham, Alvin, the last one, Alvin Gillier, and Steve Miner.
So, okay. So I wonder, I was just curious. So Steve for both. Steve Miner for both. But he was
associate producer of the first one. Right. So he must have given maybe Sean Cunningham. He gave him
some of the notes on taking it slow or whatever. Or Steve Minor is trying to pull a lot from what
Cunningham did and build that up with what he is producing and directing now. It just, there wasn't a big
switch. It's not like he had a big huge imagination and it was different. Let's see what the
trivia is for this. Okay, following the release of Friday 13th, 1980, Adrian King had numerous
encounters with an obsessive fan. Situation escalated into a stalker case and she decided to avoid
any further acting opportunities. She has not done any on-screen film work since, but has done
voiceover work on several films more than 15 years later. Wait, who? The main girl from the
beginning. Wow. Interesting. But she was still in the beginning of this movie, but that sucks. Stalker
situations are no fucking joke and what's wrong with people. Um, okay, in the scene when Jason
Cresden's the window and grabs Ginny, the actor Warrington Gillette was actually hurt. He tried to
break into the window, only it didn't break and he ended up banging his head really hard on the
glass. Dang, that sucks. The shot of the infamous double impalement was cut to avoid an X rating,
yet a gory still photo of this censored shot
appears in the back of the video cassette.
The footage of the censored portion
was finally recovered in 2020
from an old VHS of the gore shots
that Carl Fullerton kept for his portfolio
and was included on the Scream Factory deluxe collection
of the films.
Wow.
So we didn't get to see it.
Can you guys leave that shot in the comments
of the double?
It's the guy and the girl
and the thing goes through the bed.
I want to see it.
Yeah, we talked about that.
Maybe a lot of this was to avoid the X cut and stuff like that.
The first Jason seen in the movie is a shot of Jason's leg walking towards the,
walking across the street toward Alice's house.
This is the only time in the series Jason was played by a woman,
Alan Blutter, the film's costume designer.
Oh.
Oh.
Okay.
The plot of Part 2 shocked most people associated with the original film, really?
Betsy Palmer, Tom Savini, and Sean Cunningham all have made public remarks about how stupid it was
that Jason was alive the whole time
and if he was then why didn't he
just tell his mother that he was
alive which would have avoided all the murders
in part one. That's what you just said. So
it's good. We read this because
yeah. It's like, I
just don't get it unless he's supernatural
and he's just been there alive but
he didn't want to see his mom for the last 20 years.
Right. I agree with you.
The actors stayed in the
cabins on set. John Fury
Bill Randolph and Russell Todd
came to Lauren
Marie Taylor's cabin to play a prank on her.
They scratched on her window, and she hypervinyl ventilated till she fainted.
That's messed up, y'all.
That's like, you don't do that.
Come on.
Yikes.
This movie seems a wackadoodle.
This film has one of the longest pre-credit sequences in cinematic history nearly 18 minutes in some versions.
That's right.
We did go quite all in some versions.
I hopefully, but it was the long.
one yeah yeah those are just some of them for now yeah i mean okay so i don't know like i don't want to
you know rain on anybody's parade with this one and it wasn't like oh my god that movie's
trash is just i have questions and i don't know that they have answers and i like some of the
cool kills i liked some of the characters i like the settings still uh and the concept of jason
interests me the house cabin thing was cool new reveal with like the shrines that he had
Yeah. That's also wild to me. Back in the day, you could get fully nude, but you can't show a kill.
Yeah. R. So, Wack the wild ratings. I agree with that completely, though. Like what nudity, everybody has a body.
That's true. But not everybody could see. Yeah, that, that's true. I mean, I think, but I'm saying for now, I think the ratings, if you show a fully nude woman, I think it has to be rated R.
It is rated R. It didn't want to be rated X.
Oh, it didn't want to be rated X.
interesting but if it's already rated R you I would as the director I would be very angry that we couldn't show the double kill in the bed that's what we're here for I mean we're here for this is what we came for yeah that's what the audience wants and I think that would have made us a little bit we would have liked to see those kills a little bit more we noticed that we were just like even like when he's going down the stairs but then we stop
And with the guy, you know, he sits his throat,
she runs out to go cut him off.
All we see is her, and I don't know if that's a budget cost thing.
Yeah, you were like she's dead.
I didn't even catch it.
Yeah.
It was just a look in camera.
Like she saw the killer and I'm like, cool, we're not going to see that.
I thought her look was, I can't believe I just saw him hanging.
What the fuck do I do?
No, she's dead.
No, for sure.
But I'm just saying I didn't even.
Right.
And I'm watching watching.
Other people probably thought that too.
Yeah.
I agree, Tara, especially because this whole.
movie because it doesn't quite make sense, then it's got to be about how cool the kills are.
I agree.
It's got to be the point.
That's when it really picked up for us when we, when it really running, hiding on it.
Yeah, which was late.
It's like 20, 30 minutes left of the movie.
It's happened in there.
Really started to pick up.
But it does still, I mean, with this, I would be intrigued to see, I mean, and I obviously
am, we're going to watch all of it.
I'm interested to see where it goes and why, I mean, luckily for us, we know that.
he is going to end up in a hockey mask and that is the iconic image that we see people dress up as that
you see in Halloween that I'm really excited to see like well why then did it become so iconic when
he gets the hockey mask and all of that like what what are the next movies and what are the
kills we're going to see there and are they not afraid to push for the ratings I think it's just
part three and I think I saw it was 81 or 82 so this is 81 the next one's yeah they went
right away. 82. I'm really excited to see where they go with it because you absolutely cannot,
maybe you can, but I don't think it would be great, go to a camp again and us not see a killer and
kill them off one by one. I think people are going, they would riot. So for this third one,
there's got to be a switch and I'm here for it. I'm with you. Any final thoughts on this other than
to buy our sick crew necks? You guys got to get on this. I mean, come on now.
They're so cool. Support us. We would, we love it. I mean, don't, don't miss out. We're going to be posting pictures of people who are buying them. So, and we're very, very excited. We love your guys to support. Those, I don't have any more thoughts except we love you. Thank you. Like, share this video. Comment. We love you. Later, rejacks and she checks alike.
