Jonicio. Another five episodes in the season 10. We're half, we're a little more than halfway.
Starting point is 00:03:50 How are you feeling? What are your thoughts? I'm feeling bitter, sweetness, but overall, feeling friendly. I'm feeling sad and happy. I'm happy for the characters, but I'm sad for us because they deserve, you know, this life. life that they're setting out for this this new chapter they're trying to embark on but i don't want it
Starting point is 00:04:12 to end i don't want it to end man so we had a few things we had some things happen some things happen on this block we got another thanksgiving we got our last thanksgiving the one with the last thing the late thanksgiving that's what it said the late thanksgiving because yeah everybody had to rush out there was all sorts of problems yeah that was a fun one that was a fun one And we also got freaking, we got the end of Charlie, too, in this blog. Yeah, she went back to her ex. It's a Greg Kinnear, which neither of us called. No.
Starting point is 00:04:45 I was like, this must have been, what was Greg Kinnear in in 2003? I was going to say, I don't, I'm sure I've seen him before. I just can't think of anything off the top of my head. Little Miss Sunshine. I only saw it the one time. Wow, Little Miss One Time over here. Frickin, Freak. Margo's got money troubles.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Oh, see. You see, that's a show. He's gregging it over there. He's in smoke for nine episodes, apparently. He's been off the grid. He was an episode of Kirby. You gotta believe it. He's stayed working.
Starting point is 00:05:17 It's just that we haven't seen what he's been in. But that's okay. What was he at? In 2003, there was a Twilight Zone. I love that we got that Twilight Zone moment with Joey and the food. I thought that was a very amusing way to... Oh, this was right around the time he was going to do stuck on you. I am a fan of that.
Starting point is 00:05:36 movie i i think it's it's pretty fun i've not seen it he was in we were soldiers just before this dinner with friends okay someone like you the gift not to be confused with the gift and there's betty oh okay oh yeah that's on there's betty and mystery man a movie i've heard many things about but i've never seen i just remember the trailer vividly as good as it gets uh so you know Greg Kinnear, certainly a get at the time, his star, on the rise. But I felt so bad for Ross. And she was just so, like, ready to jump ship. Immediately right in front of him.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Did not even have, like, Ross in her field of vision any longer. No attention for him. Oh, my ex wants me? Say less. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Ross, who were you again? Yeah. Let's see, let's see, let's see, Phoebe.
Starting point is 00:06:30 Oh, that's right. Yeah, and they are fighting over Gladys. I thought that was fun, too. I mean, Gladys. I like that as we go through the season, we're checking back in on, like, a couple of, like, random iconic things. Like, okay, we're going to say goodbye to the apartment.
Starting point is 00:06:43 We're going to, you know, here's a prominent prop. And we're going to say goodbye to that in its own way. I like the Tops game, too, where she makes another one, and then they're, like, scaring each other with it. Was it glittis? Glittis, yeah. And then they're scaring Joey with it at the end. That was very funny.
Starting point is 00:06:59 And then Chandler and Joey. with the tape and the commercial and then the, yeah, the lipstick commercial. Iconic, I would imagine, Joey. And I feel like I've seen now the image of Joey with the blue lips, with the frosted blue lips. So pretty strong start to this block, I would say. And then, you know, the adoption agency storyline has been pretty fun. God damn Chandler really, really sold that.
Starting point is 00:07:25 I mean, Matt has off to Matthew Perry. Like that scene, you, I was, like, actually kind of staying there going like this could go either way you know and the fact that he's able to like talk her back in was fun and then yeah
Starting point is 00:07:39 you had the whole thing with the freaking interviewer and then sleeping with Joey and then them trying to if thinking that they've been like somehow broken it upon and like trying to I don't know interview on that
Starting point is 00:07:53 which is a funny random series of events and then completely gas just completely what do you call that in Uno reverse. He just completely, oh my God. You didn't call me back. And then if you fell forward, I was like, oh, my God. One of the most hilariously shameless gaslighting
Starting point is 00:08:12 incidents I can think of. Just like, oh my God. And yeah, and I know I've seen that actress before in another thing here or there. But yeah, and then the frickin charity with Matt Winston, son of famed effects icons. Stan Winston. Oh, yes. That was fucking wild.
Starting point is 00:08:34 I was trying to deposit the wedding money, taking it out, and they're getting rejected the third time. That was good. That was a fun bit. Yeah, and this is one of those shows, you know, where I like Paul Rudd in the show. You know, he's always the most likable man on earth.
Starting point is 00:08:54 And I feel like, I would like, I wish we got to see more opportunities for him to be, like super silly like we know he can be. Yeah, like I wish I wish they would let him play among the ensemble. Yeah, right? Yeah. And I feel like he doesn't get that opportunity until like later in his career. All we got so far is him not getting along with Ross.
Starting point is 00:09:13 And I'm like, damn, if we could get, yeah, some kind of thing where he really, I mean, like the ping pong match kind of, but that's a little bit more for Monica to be the, you know, over the top character. Yeah, and he's a straight. Well, he's like, yeah. He's more of the straight man. He's like doing a little bit of his, yeah, I get what you mean. And like, you know, we have that moment. in the there's that moment where they're talking about music or something and he starts doing his like pantomime and Paul Rudd piano thing and I'm like come on lead it to it yeah let him off the chain um but yeah and then oh yeah ross and rachel uh he helped to ride the swings
Starting point is 00:09:44 which is good and he got kicked in the head kicked in the head by that kid who was just that kid just got away scot-free that kid just smiling at you kicked you in the head and it's just watching you now in the aftermath um but yeah i like the thanksgiving episode i thought that was a fun one It was fun with all the heads and they tried to grease Joey's head. Oh, God. Yeah, and then they break the door, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, what is it?
Starting point is 00:10:10 They go out to the Rangers game. Joey has his freaking audition later on. And then, uh, wait, anyways. That was a different episode. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. They just go to the game and then the other two. Uh, where do I want to, what the thing is like so many plot lines past. Because the audition, I think was that last?
Starting point is 00:10:27 That's right. The last one was a beauty pageant. That's right. because we got Little Miss Sunshine guy and then the very next episode we got the beauty magic So yeah Like I thought
Starting point is 00:10:37 And then you know Ross Being all mad until he finds out They won the money And all that stuff And yeah Like I liked how that one Worked out Like as all the Thanksgiving episodes go
Starting point is 00:10:49 You can kind of see How it will work out But I thought the way it worked out Was it was pretty nice And then to reward them at the end With the selection you know, that they've actually been considered for adoption as nice. Props to Anna Ferris. Love to see her.
Starting point is 00:11:07 And an interesting, like, she comes with her own. She has her own sort of wispy, airy, kind of delivery. And so when she's on screen, there's something kind of unique about it anyway. But we also know that she's got these crazy comedic chops and stuff, and she can do a lot too. So it was interesting. Like I thought it was a good, it's a fascinating guest spot to me because I'm like, you could do, she could be less of a straight man too. Yeah. But she has such her own presence that I'm not missing that as much, you know?
Starting point is 00:11:40 Yeah, I'm going to, she's doing like the similar way she does for sending and the scary movies. But like, yeah, because this is 2003. So I have to imagine least scary movie one and two have already been out at this point. Yeah, because that's like 2000, 2000. Well, it's, we might even be three scary movies. No, scary movie three is 2006. 2003 oh my bad yeah same year because this because this this this episode uh yeah this episode with her would have aired in 2004 early 2004 by this so so damn she's three scary movies deep so she's yeah she's like you know
Starting point is 00:12:15 at big height rising stardom um but yeah that was a tough one man because they really committed to that lie they really committed yeah they were like all especially Monnet, like you could tell Chandler is feeling more conflicted about it. I did think that was an interesting wrap up, that whole like, she's always right. And I'm like, really? And I'm like, I feel like he means this sincerely.
Starting point is 00:12:41 And maybe you can interpret that as like, if we hadn't gone through all this, and I'm not, and didn't wind up right here right now convincing you this way, maybe none of this would have come together. So in that way, maybe, like, maybe cosmically, but I was a little bit like
Starting point is 00:12:56 objectively in this episode, She chose the thing that you had to talk us both out. Right. You had to be the arbiter of, you know. You had to be the correct one. Yeah, you had to be the guy who's like, this is not right. We should not lie to this woman and steal her unborn child from her. Under false pretenses.
Starting point is 00:13:16 And shouts out to the other, to the agency guy, because he's like a character actor who's been tons and tons of stuff over time. But it was very, like, I really liked, and I think you, you. you know, had mentioned during the episode just the kind of sweetness and the heartfeltness of the scenes with Monica and Chandler together. Matthew Perry was really putting in a dramatic work in this episode. 100%. Yeah, and it was even like the little subtle detail of, you know, him crying at the news, but then you find out he's not crying anymore, but you find out in that reaction that,
Starting point is 00:13:50 oh, it's because they got it. Yeah. Which like, oh, okay. Yeah. I'm like, that's awesome. And I'm happy for them. I'm happy for them, I guess. I know.
Starting point is 00:14:00 We got one, two punched. We got one, two punched. You know, they got two rewards. And, you know, again, it definitely feels like, okay, we're starting to wrap things up. Yeah. We got the baby locked. We got the house locked. You know, Monica and Chandler are growing up.
Starting point is 00:14:17 What do I mean, maybe, maybe, I mean, freaking, I love that Rachel and Joey live together. But, like, Rachel could get in the apartment. She could. Joey is on days of our lives, and Rachel works for Ralph Lauren at some high level. She could afford their freaking apartment and we can keep it all in the family. And then it can be like you can hold it even as a Monica Chandler like vacation house. It's like anyone who's visiting the city has an immediate place to go. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:47 And, you know, if Chandler can come back from Tulsa every weekend, I'm sure the bings can come to the city to hang out with their friends. Yeah. Yeah. I would want that. Yeah. I also, I like a, uh,
Starting point is 00:15:02 uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, freaking what, no, hold on.
Starting point is 00:15:07 I had a thought. The Joey, the date, the freaking, the fries and the food and the cake. And he doesn't share. I don't share food.
Starting point is 00:15:14 And I'm like, you do always, I do like that it's one of those like consistent double standard things where you're like, you're always going into the apartment taking Chandler and Monica's food. And you're the food guy. And,
Starting point is 00:15:26 like, you know, we've seen you do all sorts of food-related hijinks. And so it somehow still makes sense to me that, like, he would have this very specific rule that is hypocritical in a way. And, yeah, the whole, like, I'm not even, I'm not even sorry. Yeah. Like, it's just such a good dessert. Like, that was fun. That was fun.
Starting point is 00:15:47 And I like that. Like, that is an example of a guest actor who came in and, like, isn't part of a huge overarching plot line. isn't somebody I know specifically. But like I liked, she's a good scene partner. Yeah, like she killed it with him.
Starting point is 00:16:01 Yeah, yeah, yeah. And like, like you said, you know, like the way she kind of laid down the thing and like calls him out on it,
Starting point is 00:16:06 you're like, yeah, yeah. Come on girl. I'm with you on this, you know, and now you kind of want to, you know Joey is not going to be able to hold it together,
Starting point is 00:16:13 but also you kind of want, yeah. Yeah, she puts him in his place. I was like, if the show wasn't rapid, you'd be a great guest star for continuing 100% thing to date for Joey.
Starting point is 00:16:23 100%. And, Honestly, I mean, he screwed himself with the whole what's mine is yours thing. But, like, he was so close. Like, the whole fries for the table, not about, not a, I know some people are like that. I'm sure I have friends who are like, I'm not a big share my food with anybody person. And you know what? Fine.
Starting point is 00:16:43 And I think that is a good workaround if that's for you and you feel a type of way about it. Like, it's totally your right to just not do you. But, like, it is kind of a nice workaround. I think it depends on the food for me. Yeah. Depends on the food. It's like... It's like...
Starting point is 00:17:02 Oh, popcorn. We're sharing the popcorn, you know. Raman. That's my bowl. That's a soup. That's a soup. And now you're part of my soup. You want to share soup.
Starting point is 00:17:16 You're part of my soup. We got to really be... Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We got to be, you know, bonded in some fashion. if we're going to soup together. If we're going to be in each other's soup, you know, this can't be the first time. No, no, you can't soup it up together. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:17:34 It depends, though. I don't know. Maybe you could share a rib. I'm like. Yeah, you could, anything you can break off. Ribs are shareable. Yeah. I'm trying to think of other foods.
Starting point is 00:17:44 You can share a hoagie. A hoagie. Yeah, you can do a little slice that half. Chop cheese. Sloppy Joe, I don't know about that. Just all the messiest sandwiches to share. It's the messiest thing. You could eat.
Starting point is 00:17:54 You could share a plate of spaghetti. You can have the spaghetti. I don't want it. I'm not a huge spaghetti person. I'll eat it. It was not my first choice. Dude. Euphoria season three, spaghetti season.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Spaghetti season and poop season. Spaghetti Western. Spaghetti. Spaghetti. Spaghetti. Oh my God. I liked Ross's sweater. I liked Ross's sweater.
Starting point is 00:18:19 The bag got switched and Ross's in that. Yeah. That funny bit, I was like, in this. day and age, you could probably make that a charming start to your date if you showed up in the same sweater. Yeah, you can spin that. Honestly, I think you could. I think you could. Yeah. And what a charming misunderstanding and you get to kind of in a like earnestly happen upon the whole like, ah, what are the rules? I'm like, I don't know, man. Like, I know they picked something that reads overtly pretty feminine, but I'm like, I kind of think it's a cool. I was like, listen,
Starting point is 00:18:53 If you, like, style it with something, like some layers over it, you can make that work. 100%. I'm like, the only thing that even really jars is like, okay, this isn't like a neck cut, a neckline cut I'm used to seeing on like a men's teeth. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm like, but even that, yeah, you can easily just. You put some chains on there. Yeah. This.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Things like that are really fun across this because obviously once, you know, you come into friends after so long. And everyone's like, oh, certain stuff is age better than other stuff. but I love things like that where you're like these choices you know Monica's big volumized hair or this sweater I'm like these things would probably be like way less of an ordeal
Starting point is 00:19:35 now I feel like you could easily just be like I like this sweater and that's that you know no yeah I feel like yeah sir it's funny because I like yeah that would be more acceptable but it also has to be like the type of person I feel like sure but I don't know
Starting point is 00:19:50 anybody could maybe I don't know I'm tossed. You got to be wanting to rock it. You got to meet that thing halfway. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, totally. And then, yeah, the real estate thing was fun. I mean, it's one of those where you're like, it's so bold-faced. She's, like, right outside the cafe.
Starting point is 00:20:06 I'm like, it's got to be something related to their futures. Yeah. You know, and I'm like... I didn't expect a house, though. I was like, oh, wow. I didn't call it out up front, but I was like, blonde lady. We're on the sidewalk. We're about to get into a car.
Starting point is 00:20:20 And she just looks... I don't know. got to be a realtor. But I've never seen someone just get into a car with a realtor to go see a house before. Me neither. It's just one of those yeah, I was just like, who's,
Starting point is 00:20:32 it was just the movie math. I was like, okay, so Chandler's talking to a lady who looks pretty put together and is like a blonde lady and somebody who like looks like you could be having an affair with them and not to profile realtors but I feel like in that business, especially if you're the person showing
Starting point is 00:20:48 a house, you probably want to be very presentable. Yeah. So like I can see how you meet somebody who's like dressed up and is looking presentable how across the street you might be like oh shit. What's going on there? But yeah, at the same time, I'm like, nah, this all looks way too suspicious to be anything other than something. Because we're not going to have Chandler cheat in the last season of the show. It's so ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:21:14 Yeah. And I was like, yeah, this not only does this have to be innocuous. I was one of two things. I was like, I did this is a surprise for Monica. that he is going to check out something. Yeah, I was on that lane. Yeah, or, you know, it's something that they have both agreed on. And I actually, I really like, as a clip episode and as a version of that, I liked, I liked that, like, the friend group kind of responds, as much as they jump to conclusions immediately.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Their response is pretty, you know, caring and, you know, the whole, like, listen, you know, Monica, we got to tell you something. and the game back and forth of like not I liked being able to wonder like oh my God is she going to actually go with this for a little while and force Chandler into a weird uncomfortable position for hijinks and like I could have gone that way but I like
Starting point is 00:22:07 the way that they handled it here where it's like they're kind of dancing on it until they you know find the reason to say what the business is and then they have the whole like oh you know I waited to tell them because I want to tell you in private first so we can enjoy our moment It was a nice way to, like you said, they make these clip episodes actual episodes and it feels less like, oh, here's a filler. It's like whenever you're watching like an anime or something and there's a clip episode or something like that, I feel like it can often feel like that.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Like, just like, ah, there's maybe some wrap around. It's mostly clips and it's just kind of a filler. Whereas here they feel more like fun opportunities, especially in a season 10 to like, yeah, just kind of relive. some classic moments and coming out of a time where things didn't get clipped all the time and and you know getting even the physical copies of this took forever you know like a clip show had a different function I feel like back then yeah and yeah the and I feel like especially because it's the last season it feels like not something that's necessary but I don't know it fuels that that nostalgia because we are coming to an end they're mostly showing stuff from like
Starting point is 00:23:18 seasons one and two and like well look how far we've come you know and even in that it wasn't just here's a list of examples it's like no this is this is how far we've come within this space yeah and yeah I feel like out of the clip show structurally there's probably the best one so far yeah this is a good one oh my goodness we got some questions we're strong people got people are invested in the final season absolutely all right well we got uh we got to be a little expedient but we should be good on time all right let's jump in with paville catch Merrick. Regignation excited to be shouting out once again.
Starting point is 00:23:53 H-U-E-L-F-U-E-L-Fuel. Hew is the name of the game. I'm not going to pretend that I just discovered Huell for an ad. I genuinely love this stuff. Like, I love the Black Edition ready to drink. We got a bunch in the office coin keeps taking them. But the powder ones, the banana flavor, and the chocolate are actually my current favorite over the past couple months I've discovered. Because several times a week, I'll mix it with my non-dairy yogurt.
Starting point is 00:24:17 There's some fruit on top. bit of brown rice cereal taste like pudding if you guys watch our live streams have actually eating it on stream before my god now i'm craving it right now anyway it's weirdly good pudding and i used hughel during my cut last year i just did a spartan race it was the first thing i drink after my spartan race and coy he's been getting to ridiculously great shape because of his wedding and you've seen him drinking a lot of it on camera here so you know he'd be using it while cutting as well but just overall lifestyle-wise but especially in summer routines just fall apart you got travel. Starting point is 00:26:09 We'll read it together. No. I do not consent. Well, no, I can do it. I can figure it out. Fine. read together. On unison, ready?
Starting point is 00:26:19 That's just the first part. John and Aaron. How are you doing, Monica? Ha. Somebody make a clip show of our reactions, and every time that I say Monica, or he says Monica, and it's the thing. Yes. Thank you. I appreciate you.
Starting point is 00:26:45 I would love a clip show of our journey through friends. I would love a clip show. Excellent. Yeah, a Monica clip show. Monicas of the Reject Nation. You could say, my monicas of the reject nation because then it's like veiled
Starting point is 00:27:03 enough in terms of like your Monica, you know, the character of Monica. But my monicas then takes it even further away from the grammatical implication because you're
Starting point is 00:27:17 redundant, you're creating a redundancy, thus my monica makes it even more of just the name Monica with no other dubious like valley of pronunciation.
Starting point is 00:27:31 Anyway, thank you for addressing us in the only official way to do so. Of course. Continue the thing. Sorry. I just love seeing Aaron torture John with this. Actually, your relationship and back and forth is the reason why you're the
Starting point is 00:27:47 perfect choice for this. Well, I thank you. you, Powell. I appreciate you, Powell. In his book, Matthew Perry said that season nine and most of season 10 were the longest time in his life where he went sober.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Wow. Yeah, he feels different in those seasons. He feels like back to him. In fact, he said season nine was the only one where he was sober all the way through. Did you notice that his performance watching it with you?
Starting point is 00:28:12 I would say that there is a drastic improvement in not just his performance, but also his look overall and vibe since season 7 and 8. Sorry for bringing the mood down talking about Matthew Perry again, but watching these last few seasons is just a reminder of the treasure we lost. Yeah. But I did notice he was like, okay, he's like, he's back.
Starting point is 00:28:36 You know, he's on his game. He's on his shit. And he's sharper again. Yeah, season 7 was the only time, the beginning of season 7. I was like, whoa, this is weird. But everything out of that after that. I was like, okay, he feels like clean, sober looking, healthy.
Starting point is 00:28:49 He feels present in the scenes. Whereas, yeah, in some of the seven and eights, especially at the top of season seven, the first half, and kind of segueing to a lesser degree in season eight for me. In hindsight, yeah, you can kind of feel like someone playing for, like someone playing Chandler rather than just being in the moment of Chandler. And yeah, like, especially here, it's nice to see. And I'm curious, you said season nine. was the one where he was sober all the way through.
Starting point is 00:29:21 So I'm curious as to what that means for season 10, where and when and what. But yeah, just like he's, he feels a lot more kind of clear-eyed. He looks healthier generally. And I think they've also, like those dramatic scenes have probably benefited greatly from that, as well as the wealth of,
Starting point is 00:29:41 I'm sure, experience and, you know, the things that, the struggles that come with addiction. You know, it's interesting to see somebody on the other side of that than performing in a space that, you know, is I'm sure way more complicated than any of us would give it credit for but also is such a conduit for joy and for, again, performance.
Starting point is 00:30:02 So like, yeah, it's really nice to see him. He's funny, he's got the timing, and he's able to drive a lot more of these, you know, heartfelt plot, you know, threads and stuff like that in a convincing way that's really moving. because he had these episodes like he really that flipperoo with
Starting point is 00:30:21 Anaferris like almost sold like it's in the writing too but like he's got to sell that for you to be like yes woman somehow recant on your very reasonable choice not to give these liars your baby
Starting point is 00:30:34 but yeah that's off to Matthew Perry RIP that's off it's off to one of the goats Hossena Asana. Al-I.
Starting point is 00:30:47 After finishing the show, and hopefully the reunion, can you guys please do a live stream podcast where you rank all ten seasons of Friends? I really enjoyed when the She-Jex did a ranking of the Halloween franchise last year. That was very fun, and would love to see a Friends ranking.
Starting point is 00:31:03 Maybe some of the other Rejects can join in to give their thoughts. We can do a, yeah, like a Friends Telethon. That'd be fun. A lot of Friends fan. I mean, it's Greg's favorite show. Cois. Roxy.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Yeah. everybody, I'm sure there are a couple other people around here who haven't seen all of it, but it seems like everybody would have something to say and want to chime in on that. So I love this idea. Can't guarantee anything obviously, but yes, ranking 10 seasons of friends,
Starting point is 00:31:29 it would be interesting because yeah, like, on a first watch, it's not a ranking I would feel like 100% like I'm going to sign off on this. I would want to rewatch to really pin it down. But I feel like, you know, as like a loose one and as a discussion driver, it could still be pretty fun to do that.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Yeah, it could be fun and it'd be interesting. I feel like that's be something I would have to like go back and re-look at some things because this is effectively, it's weird because I'm like, we watch this show, obviously not in the span of 10 years, but not in the span of a month either. It's like an in-between sort of binge thing that we've done, you know? So we consumed a lot of TV in the span of like, what, like, fucking like eight or nine months?
Starting point is 00:32:14 Something like that. Yeah. I'll have to go back and count. But yeah. I think we started in like September or August. And here we are in June. Sure. That sounds.
Starting point is 00:32:23 I'll co-sign that. I'm not great at time, but that sounds about right. Yeah. Because yeah, I mean, we had and there were times where we were shooting six in one go. I can rank my finales, but I don't know if I can rank whole seasons as of right now. A, both are legitimate. Yeah. And maybe at the finale, we should rank the finale or at least you should.
Starting point is 00:32:42 That'd be fun. If you have a ranking, at least confidently in mind. But yeah, I love this idea of the live stream or some kind of, you know, friends' discussion. So, you know, remind us as we get to the end and who knows what will happen. Nikki Sonrisa. Hey. Hey, Jaron. Happy Friends Day.
Starting point is 00:33:03 Happy Friends Day to you, Nick. I love this block of episodes because so much happened in the lives of our characters. this block also features another clip show. How do you feel about the placement of this particular clip show? And did it make you feel a sense of nostalgia for the earlier episodes of the show? 100%. 100%. Like we were talking about earlier,
Starting point is 00:33:26 I like the structure of this clip show. And I like looking back and kind of realizing, like, yeah, some of these clip shows aren't the same exact structure. A lot of them do have a sort of like, they're talking, and then we do some clips. And then they talk again about a segue. and then we do some clips. But, you know, not all of them have been exactly the same.
Starting point is 00:33:44 And I think that, yeah, as the, we got lucky in the way that these episodes have been organized, because, you know, to end this block off on a clip show that also coincides with a big development, they're smart because it's a big development and a legit reason to reminisce. And, yeah, I thought it was really lovely to go back and to spend some time in those moments and to kind of have it be the centerpiece. You do this one flashback chunk in the middle of the episode, bookended by the circumstances. And yeah, I thought for season 10, that was super appropriate. It made me nostalgic for how far we've come.
Starting point is 00:34:21 It was decently well focused on like this specific space as the most iconic of the Friends apartments. And yeah, I really like that we got this little retrospective before heading into the final stretch. Yeah. Yeah, it seems like a nice centerpiece for the season as well as, you know, the way the episode,
Starting point is 00:34:45 the way the episode itself is structured kind of seems to match nicely to the season so far for me. Oh, yeah, I'd have to wholeheartedly agree. Yeah, we did talk about it
Starting point is 00:34:53 a little earlier. And yeah, it did give a sense of nostalgia because they showed the first episode with Rachel's done the wedding dress and you see how young everybody looks and the different hairstyles
Starting point is 00:35:04 and hell, even the camera's looking a little older. But everybody still feels like them for the most part and it was yeah it was really lovely and even within the clip show there is like this narrative progression from
Starting point is 00:35:19 you know Rachel living in the apartment with her to then them doing the apartment switch to then Chandler moving in and then you know bringing us to where we are because you know they are about to leave the apartment so I ultimately really really dug it and yeah outside of the clip show there's still enough room for
Starting point is 00:35:35 the present day narrative to still be impactful even though we are you know going through this nostalgic journey in the center and it's cool is a good point you're you're like cameras are different in the in the earlier scenes for obvious reasons and like this is being produced out of the 90s and into the 2000s so you get kind of like a neat just uh encapsulation of like the change in the media physically you know and how it looks and you know how clear it is and i was watching this episode going like this must be HD now you know so uh yeah yeah really lovely Flev Doran.
Starting point is 00:36:12 Simple question. We'll see about that. Have you guys taken note of the names of the creators that appear at the end of every intro? I think it's important to know those names together with the other executive producer Kevin S. Bright for when you're going to watch the reunion. I've seen, I mean, you know, you see, I always catch Robert Carlock's name. And what's the other creator? It's Martha's something, something.
Starting point is 00:36:38 and and and and and and now I'm going to pay attention yeah I mean I'm yeah I feel like this is good that's a nice uh reminder uh up top to uh yeah like as we get toward the end of the season toward the end of the series toward the reunion uh then you know there we go marta coughman and david crane uh there those two names are the creators but yeah we'll start i'll start just kind of logging as we get close to the very end more of these names, even though I have to imagine that they would have changed over time. But yeah, I can't imagine that, you know, we'll be surprised to find that anybody whose name we don't know worked on the show. But I bet if you know who corresponds well to what department or what episodes, you know, that could unlock a layer of, you know, intrigue and context.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Yes. Heck yeah. All right. All right. And for the final question. Jay Rustin to ask What to reject would cook Frozen Turkey correctly It's not easy Ooh Who would cook a frozen turkey correctly
Starting point is 00:37:50 Who's the best cook at the reject At the reject nation I feel like I could Follow a good You know instructional video I feel like I could I had a nice oven I feel like Roxy
Starting point is 00:38:04 I feel like Roxy probably yeah Yeah. I mean, I've never... I know she bakes. She's like a... You know, she's great in the kitchen when it comes to baking. But that's a little question. We don't really talk about the culinary prowesses of the different rejects here very often. But I do love to throw down on the kitchen. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:24 So I'll put my own hat in the ring there. I don't know if Andrew would cook a whole frozen turkey, but Andrew does like to cook it, like... He used to do his ribs. He used to make... Back when his dad was still alive, he used to, like... him and his dad like these slow-roasted ribs for like hours. So I feel like Andrew would also make a great drink.
Starting point is 00:38:41 Oh my God. I didn't know he was slow roast. I didn't know he was like doing grill master shit. Oh, he wasn't doing like grow. He put it in the oven. But still, you could just to roast something over hours. You have to kind of understand what's happening here.
Starting point is 00:38:54 Oh yeah. And like he would like, yeah. That's a specific thing. It was very specific. Yeah, you have to come over sometime and hopefully he can make us some ribs. But he hasn't, he hasn't done in a while. And ribs. I miss Andrews with ribs.
Starting point is 00:39:06 Miss the and ribs. I miss the and's rib, the Andrew ribs. But yeah, he can throw it down. So I believe he could make a really good turkey. Okay. Okay. Okay. What about you?
Starting point is 00:39:16 You feel like you could make a good turkey? I would have to, I would probably have to learn. I feel like, yeah, cooking a frozen turkey especially, I don't know if you start with it frozen or I have to thaw it out or what. So, like, I would definitely need a learning curve. I could probably, like, I'm confident I could probably follow instructions. Yes. I like to cook, and generally I can. move around and figure stuff out,
Starting point is 00:39:38 but a frozen turkey for Thanksgiving does seem like a very specific set of tasks unto itself. I feel like, if I could have like a real turkey, like a proper turkey, I know that's going to be made and have like a smaller
Starting point is 00:39:56 experimental turkey, I'd probably try to air fry the turkey and see how far that would take me. We love experimental turkey. We love experimental turkey around these parts. Also, So, yeah, maybe cook it over like slow roast. Like, like, Louis style. Just like get a little fire and just like rotate it, rotisserie turkey.
Starting point is 00:40:15 I want to try that. I love the sound of this. Yeah. Oh, no, like you like, I think it's another method. Like you put it in foil and just like sit it in a fire. And then you like kind of marinade and, you know, condense. Yeah. You know, yeah, and you brine it maybe.
Starting point is 00:40:34 rub it with some stuffs and just let it kind of marinate and it's juice You're making me hungry There you go There you go Well, and I think maybe Michael Tesler could do it
Starting point is 00:40:45 Michael Tesla probably do it Mike can do anything I elect Michael at the top of the list Then Roxy then Andrew Amen I think And then maybe a surprise Tara I'm not sure
Starting point is 00:40:54 I'll call a sign that But anyway guys Who do you know who cooks a good turkey What house do you want to live in Which of Phoebe's paintings would you want to keep between Glynna and
Starting point is 00:41:10 Linda or whatever the other one's. That's actually, that's a great piece of trivia. What is Phoebe's painting's name again? There's some good Gladys, there you go. There's some good flashbacks here too.
Starting point is 00:41:27 It's just Phoebe talking about weird shit that's happened in our past. That's something I'm excited to watch the show. Somebody asked that ages ago, what's your favorite, like, random Phoebe aside that you would love to see a cutaway to? And that's like one of those, like, got to rewatch the show and log all these kind of questions. I don't know. She hasn't done Smelly Cat at all this season. No, you can see that's the thing is you got to leave them wanting more, all right?
Starting point is 00:41:50 You can't just play the hits every time, you know? But maybe the closing credits of the whole show will be Smelly Cat. I hope so. I would want nothing more. Or post-credit scene. Post-credit scene. It's her and What is it, Tara Strong?
Starting point is 00:42:08 Whoever the actress was, who played Tommy Pickles, it's the other one. Tara Strong. Is it Tara Strong? E.G. Daily. There you go. E.G. Daily. When she's in, she does the pop version.
Starting point is 00:42:23 We'll get a version where they actually do crossover for the post credits. Yes. Any whom, guys, thank you for joining us for another block of lovely friends. season 10 episodes. We are savoring every last morsel till the end.
