Starting point is 00:03:31 you have a favorite of these episodes favorite of the episodes to toss up between the I think the race car one and the football one those are both fun pretty epic yeah sisters was fun as well
Starting point is 00:03:45 oh my god all of his sisters I hope we see them all again I do too at some point oh no I guess it's not a spoil it's a title of the episode but all right well I won't see or say anything so I can protect your fragile viewing experience my fragile eyes I feel like the title spoiled the premise but again you don't know the context of the premise itself so we'll read the titles at the end we'll make a new game we guess throughout the episode what the title will be what the title will be before we get to it well no we don't even have to look instead of looking up top we will guess throughout the episode what the title might be and then when we get to the end we can be like what was it that's fun this is the one way or what yeah that's our new game going forward that could be fun but yeah this is a really this is a very fun uh batch of episodes i was excited to see rachel's dad back yeah that was fun uh he's i don't know whoever that guy is he's got this energy he's really good at playing that particular character um ed those big yeah all that stuff was chance we have had a couple like serial episodes because yeah we had Chandler and Janice breaking up all that stuff the sagas of the
Starting point is 00:04:54 relationships are fun because I didn't I am getting the hang the gist of like how these things work so like a few episodes at a time or you know like Ross and Rachel now have been together for a minute it looked like they wouldn't for a while and like yeah so it's cool it feels
Starting point is 00:05:10 like it's alive a little bit with how they you know how they grow when they move around and it's like day to day but it's also like it evolve slowly over a time. I was kind of nice. Has it been 24 episodes since they got together? I can't remember what season,
Starting point is 00:05:23 what episode they got together in season two. But yeah, they ended strong in the second season. And I thought it was interesting in this batch of episodes how little her, Monica's thing with Richard came up. Because I was like, oh, I guess she's just over it now. Yeah, we dealt with that. But yeah, in those first six episodes of this season.
Starting point is 00:05:43 And now, yeah, we just don't talk about it. Yeah. I guess we got to keep it pushing. in a show like this i expect to be surprised with a richard return at some point but like yeah we are i feel like we are now over that and we're back in monica playing the field mode which i mean i felt bad for her with the poem but i liked how she got that dude back the quartet getting worked overtime this episode yeah getting paid good money i like that the gellers have a go-to singing graham uh you know quartet the family quartet the show put every birthday yeah yeah joey joey in the soap opera class that was was really funny and i and i and you could see that coming but i really love that he's like play gay and then it actually works out for that guy and he goes on to get bigger parts yeah he's doing your contract yeah and then uh you know i hope that that uh that bed stays canon uh you know monica monica and rachel with ben bonk in his head monica bang is me i think the main thing
Starting point is 00:06:39 will take away from that um and then let's see we got ugly naked guy trying to poke the ugly naked guy was pretty funny and Phoebe that one had a lot of bits I feel like that episode was like largely comprised out of bits but yeah I like them doing the big old poking device the one with the football yeah was really striking and it was a cool
Starting point is 00:06:58 instance of an episode where like even though multiple plot threads are happening within the game like it's still everyone's focused on one thing together and being that we just transitioned into Thanksgiving season or at least the post Halloween set of holidays is kind of nice to
Starting point is 00:07:14 check back in with that football seasons in full swing yeah i don't i don't know if this one's technically considered a a bottle episode maybe it is but the fact that you know we got another episode within the same season of just them together and it's all of them interacting um was fun i dug it you looked at the model check yeah marg hot was apparently portrayed by susan voltaire never seen her never heard of her yeah that was a that was a wild uh plot line there Susanna Voltaire who's somebody or other
Starting point is 00:07:49 oh snap do we do we get a thing should I stop looking at anything and everything no no it's just I looked at that picture I'm like I recognize that actor for a character that we've seen but I guess they'll get recast at some point oh okay let's get that casting
Starting point is 00:08:09 Rachel too leveling up her life I thought that was a lovely kind of sequence of plot threads going over these couple episodes we've been watching here Gunther randomly developing this crush on Rachel and being always stewing in the background now I think it's just like
Starting point is 00:08:26 a funny detail. Yeah, I wonder if they like it was more subtle before if we go back and like will you see him just being stewed and you know her love possibilities. Yeah, yeah. And then Phoebe and like the Joey selling Christmas trees was just like a fun Christmasy you know bit and then
Starting point is 00:08:41 Phoebe with the you know tree cruelty and them ending up with all the trees that that was charming also it wasn't acknowledged of the next episode but they had to get rid of all those trees because they weren't there the next episode I know they had to probably chip them all and like what do we tell Phoebe they all went to live on a farm up state they all ran away yeah and then the the freaking cookies they was a like it was a random subplot because it's like you have to suspend a good amount of disbelief to be like the brown birds will let Ross sell these cookies and just like show up on this girl's behalf this girl's parents suck enough that I guess it doesn't
Starting point is 00:09:14 really matter and no one's looking after her so it's better that ross is looking after her because we know ross we like them but also this random grown man can just go check them their little daughter but yeah if ross wasn't a good guy you know i'd be concerned about that but you know i thought the the space camp thing at the very end of the episode in in chanler and joey's apartment i think was really was very cute and uh and one of those things where you see the scene you're like i wish i could have been on set that day to just hang out in the space variation i have to imagine they told Phoebe all the trees went for cigarettes and milk that's right yeah they'll be back any day any day now uh the guy with the noise upstairs is fun i do like a sitcom trope of like someone who's a character
Starting point is 00:09:55 but you never see them you just kind of feel their presence through the wall or something like that um and then yeah all the sort of back and forth with ross and rachel and the job and then mark guy and then joey's sisters and all that stuff uh yeah so it's a pretty fun batch of episodes uh one other thing I'll look up. Friends, season three Mark actor. Who's this guy? Who's Steve Echold? He looks freaking familil. He's on stuff.
Starting point is 00:10:23 He's on Warehouse 13. He's on various things. Isn't Warehouse 13? What? An episode of. He's done a lot of TV, so I don't know. He's probably that guy you've seen popped up. But anyway, we got some few questions from our folks over at the
Starting point is 00:10:37 Patreon. Thank you for being here alongside us for such a fun batch of Epps. Nicky Sonorisa Hey John and Arun Happy Friends Day Happy Brent In the one with all the jealousy
Starting point is 00:10:50 What do you think of how Ross handled that situation Do you think he was justified Conversely, what would you do In Rachel's issues Man, I feel like Ross was going a little overboard Ross has been like since they got together
Starting point is 00:11:04 He's been a little mean To be a little mean to Rachel Not a fan I liked lover boy Ross You know he had his flaws But yeah You're like Simp Ross, bro. You like Simp Ross, bro.
Starting point is 00:11:16 Well, he had a little bit of the energy came back this episode. But, yeah, he was going over, boy, he's got to trust his girl. You know, they got this connection. And it's funny that she exhibited some of that same sort of jealousy, but he definitely took it to the nth degree. And, yeah, it's, Rachel's, you know, valid for being like, what the hell? And, yeah, I'm happy they had a conversation about it. And, like, yeah, if we love each other, we got to trust each other.
Starting point is 00:11:41 and even though monica was like you have to trust your girl he still went overboard so but you know when we got his reasoning it did make sense though it's not justified um yeah i feel like he could have handled that better for sure yeah but yeah you know i'm happy they're intact and hopefully they can still grow yeah experience this episode is brought to you by prize picks the app that finally let me crash my wife's fantasy sports click yes i used to overhear her and her friends bonding while i sat in the corner where my arms folded come to my home and i can't be included trying to pretend like yeah i know what yards after catch means it's felt left out man and then i discovered prize picks so here's the deal it's daily fantasy sports not gambling no playing against sharks or
Starting point is 00:12:31 betting against the house it's just you versus your own sports brain you pick more or less on two or more player stats like will luca donchich score more than 30 points tonight will christian mcalfrey rush for less than 85 yards sports things and if you're right you win another thing too it's fast you can make a lineup in under a minute playing 30 plus states and you're not stuck to just NFL or NBA you've got MLB NHL college football even e-sports basically if it has stats you can play and basically i now can hang out with my wife and her friends 10 years in the And when I get one right, it does feel good. So, fellow reject, what you can do today is you can download the Price Picks app.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Use Code Rejects to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That's code Rejects to get $50 in lineups after your first $5 lineup. Price Picks, it's good to be right. I would agree. I think that certainly you got to have a little bit of faith, you know, especially in a situation like that. Like, yeah, I get the trepidation. I get what Joey and Chandler was saying, like, oh, this guy's randomly being nice to you. But at the same time, I don't know, until there's reason to suspect something is amiss here, you know, yeah, trust and, and I don't know, he's, it's a love bomb, so it could have been worse, but it is like, oh, okay, boy, like, you've covered her desk and stuff, you've got your picture up here, you've got his barbershop quartet, it's funny.
Starting point is 00:13:59 But if you're asking if he went too far, I think, yeah, he certainly didn't handle the situation with too much. chill thoughtful consideration. No, no, no. So, no, I wouldn't say he was completely justified. I mean, again, I understand his suspicion, or at least his like, you know,
Starting point is 00:14:18 nervousness about the situation because, sure, but at the same time, you do have to kind of hopefully trust that your partner wouldn't succumb to or engage in that and trust them to tell you if, you know, a move was made or whatever if something became an issue.
Starting point is 00:14:34 But I do appreciate the nuance that like it's you know it's like we should all conduct ourselves well and we should all you know have faith in our partners and whatnot it's a natural human thing to wonder or to like let your mind wander and come up with some kind of worst case scenario and so I do appreciate as much as Ross is being a bit petty at the end of the episode by being like I set up this thing with the stripper there is that thing of like
Starting point is 00:15:00 it's it goes both ways you know if you have any sort of prospective like oh I've entered into some kind of contract with an outside person who is, you know, charming and could be a potential suitor if you really think about it or whatever, you know, people's nerves light up and people's suspicions and worries light up. So, you know, I do, I find, yeah, the, the acknowledgement of that fun and the sort of like, yeah, we both got to adhere to this and that'll mean that both of us will have to kind of trust in situations where we're both uncomfortable. But yes, Ross went certainly ham where he did not eat two yes and oh and and coming in and yeah and being around the corner and breaking the guy and his other office wifey up was that was that was a bit like okay
Starting point is 00:15:48 we've gone overboard right we've crossed a bridge and now there's a problem yeah all right j rushed in question what do you guys eat for thanksgiving dinner ooh i like me some turkey i'm a turkey head turkey all day every day someday someday in this show there will be
Starting point is 00:16:08 a turkey head I think I hope so but yeah I love me some turkey I love me some
Starting point is 00:16:16 I'm very specific with my mac and cheese I like I want some mac and cheese that's like actually cheesy
Starting point is 00:16:23 got some good flavor to it yeah I like mass potatoes I like deviled eggs this is an array
Starting point is 00:16:31 of Thanksgiving I'm not a stuffing man though I'm not a huge stuffing person yeah that's my that's like my thanksgiving hot take foods like i always have a little because the tradition but like it's not of a consistency i very much gravitate to yeah i like the flavors
Starting point is 00:16:45 of stuffing more than i like the sort of i like the consistency yeah um yeah i mean like i feel like at family thanksgiving typically we we like have some of the classics and then we branch out to like some other family things included so you know yeah you got like turkey and mashed potatoes and like added in some like crisp green beans some like yams or something in like a mapley sauce or something cranberries um we'll make like an italian risotto that my grandma passed down that was a yeah like a family staple oh yeah my dad makes gumbo for thanksgiving and christmas we've started making like a like a thanksgiving stew afterwards with like some of the remains we've been trying to get creative with the leftovers but uh but yeah
Starting point is 00:17:32 uh well my sister and i used to make biscuits when we were kids um that's still a true dish uh we'll saute up some mushrooms and whatnot uh you know pumpkin pie maybe like a i'll make a pecan pie i'll put some bourbon in that oh bourbon pecan pie let's go trying to think of oh yeah yeah i make a couple i'm trying to think of what else we got but uh but yeah stuff like that a little little pumpkin butter apple butter in there yeah my uh my friend a good friend she was in new york now when I would go to her house for holidays her mom would make like a wine cake which is very good yeah gumbo I you know what you know it's funny because thanksgiving I used to when I was a child weed lad here I used to eat the ham and I used to eat like the the yams with the marshmallows on
Starting point is 00:18:23 top yeah yeah but I haven't done that in many moons and I remember yeah it was like Thanksgiving of 2006 like something about that combination really messed me up and I puked and I was in the bathroom I puked everywhere but the toilet and then my dad you know he cleaned it up you know God bless him and then afterwards I was sitting on the couch and he gave me an apple with mustard on it and he's like take a bite of this and then I did and I haven't puked since ever again ever again what I haven't pukes in like 20 years apple with the mustard yeah I don't know why he gave him the apple.
Starting point is 00:19:03 I asked him years later, I was like, I don't know why. But I still take mustard to this day, and I have not peeped since. Like, when you feel like you've got to puke, you want to ask me the mustard. In any context, I'm like, give me the mustard. And then it just... I'm going to remember this. I don't get nauseous often, but I'm going to remember that. I love mustard anyways.
Starting point is 00:19:20 So maybe that's why. There you go, exactly. Mustard is my favorite of the classic condiments. Is it really? Yeah. More than ketchup. More than ketchup. That's fascinating.
Starting point is 00:19:28 I don't really that about you. If I could only pick one, most of it. I'd be like, oh, I've got to think. But this one, I'm like, got to be the stirred. You must be a mad pastrami, man, because I hear that's like the one, two, the ultimate condiment for pastrami sandwiches.
Starting point is 00:19:43 That would make sense. Yeah, I can imagine it in my mind's eye. Just dripping with golden goodness. But yeah, guys, if you don't want to puke, make sure you take that mustard. Be like me and not puke in almost 20 years. Next year will be 20 years because it was 2006. You know, I'm going to add to Thanksgiving this year.
Starting point is 00:20:01 What? we were oh my god we were at a restaurant oh god i took a trip with my my lady companion to um a mountain we went to the mountains and we got uh cinnamon cornbread so i'm going to add that to the thanksgiving that sounds bomb it was amazing it was the best thing like it was a good brunch but it was the best thing we got that day i think and i got to crack that recipe that was a slowed down friends clap Janice B C-P-H-T
Starting point is 00:20:36 You don't learn what all these What you're you know honorific here means But how's it going? Scruds I see you We are scruds kidding Fun tidbit about the Thanksgiving episode On the original DVD
Starting point is 00:20:50 Extended version cuts Ross and Monica agreed to a tie At the end of the episode They throw the Geller Cup down the garbage shoot Where Phoebe is waiting to get it for Monica Ross runs down to get it sees Phoebe and gets it before her and it ends with Phoebe trying to get it back
Starting point is 00:21:05 from Ross. Oh, fascinating. That's funny. Yeah, like these make me always wonder about like what got left on the cutting room floor from the middle of an episode or I hadn't even thought of like episodes with alternate endings but that's yeah, this is one where I'm like yeah, I could totally see a multiple
Starting point is 00:21:21 you know, them entertaining a lot of ideas of how to conclude it. And that kind of sucks like in the age of streaming, you know, you wouldn't be able to get something like that because oftentimes they don't come with like extras or deleted scenes it's just the thing itself yeah it's like they haven't ported over there some stuff comes with special features but it's not they haven't figured out how to equip make the equivalent experience of like a special edition DVD blu-ray or whatever on anything streaming like you would need your own like you would need the structure provided by the menus of a you know release like that and you could do it online but i just i don't know i haven't encountered yeah that'd be cool if yeah streaming services
Starting point is 00:22:03 started to do that like all the movies came with their special features yeah I love that yeah me too yeah well tell us what you guys
Starting point is 00:22:11 would love in the next episode or in any sort of movie context of Joey dancing Joey dancing that was very fun just that whole thread
Starting point is 00:22:20 was fun give us your movies yeah I'm just excited for more this is a blast and it's fun to see a swath of holiday episodes during the holidays
Starting point is 00:22:28 yeah block we shoot will be normal springtime again but you know this is true well let us know if you guys want a Halloween episode of friends we have yet to get one for three seasons in and they just skip right over home wow nothing for the spooky kids nothing for them spooky wooky kids all right guys we're going to get out of here but stay spooky stay friendly love you and we'll catch you in the next one pieces
