Before we get into questions we have today, though, let's check in with our feelings and thoughts. So after this block of episodes, Johnny Boy, how are you doing?
Starting point is 00:01:53 I'm good, I'm good. I'm having my mind blown in this moment by the fact that I just pulled up, you know, the episode guide here to keep abreast of the Dietz. Yes. And Solee Moon Frye, who played, you know, the, the girl was all the punching. Yeah. Apparently, Punky Brewster. What?
Starting point is 00:02:12 Did not know that. Oh, wow. Prolific sitcom of the 1980s, punk, punky, punky, punky, not pump. I'm too used to say pumpkin in this life. Punchy Brewster? Punky Brewster. Punchy Brewster. No.
Starting point is 00:02:26 Oh, she's punchy Bruce. I see what you do. Yeah, you're so cool, Brewster. So that's just blow on my mind right now. but this has been another really delightful chunk of episodes. I feel like the previous handful have been like very sort of well-rounded.
Starting point is 00:02:41 This feels like a stretch where we're like, yeah, we're deep into the heart of the season. There are certainly some through lines. But, you know, like, we're at cruising altitude for a number of storylines. I agree. Yeah, yeah. We're in like the, you know,
Starting point is 00:02:54 we've re-entered the more episodic sort of style of the show or segment of the show. Yeah, I feel like for me, the one that was the standout was the one where everyone finds out. That was the most fun episode of the season, or this block so far for me. Yeah, that game in general has been very fun across season five, but especially, yeah, with adding Phoebe to the mix,
Starting point is 00:03:17 adding, finally getting to Ross after all of this. This is very, very funny. Yeah, and the subplot with the neighbor. Yeah, and like, you mean the, the Mary Winchester across the street or, or? The naked man. Man. The naked naked guy. And Ross had to move in over there.
Starting point is 00:03:34 And yeah, I'm trying to like ingratiate himself. And then like nobody that likes him. That's stuff. He can't win for losing. Yeah. I know. And I mean, I think that's a fun development.
Starting point is 00:03:45 As much as I'm a miss naked guy. You know, I like that trope. But, you know, Ross moving across the way, I think that's a nice thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:52 It's a nice development. I thought it was very funny. They left those cardboard cutouts up for him. Rachel and Phoebe just always there, 24 hours days waiting for him. Yeah. We've met. freaking Frank senior which was crazy.
Starting point is 00:04:04 Yeah, that did happen. This was so weird because I want to say they were teasing that storyline in season three because I want to say season three, the end of season three is when they went to the beach house and then she'd be found out who her real mom was, but the whole intent of her going there was to find out who her dad was. And here we finally get it resolved in season five. And it kind of was just like a single episode. And I was like, oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:04:30 I thought this was going to be like more of a thing. but i'm happy that it happened it was very touching very sweet when they did finally uh reconcile yeah bob ballad band is a good choice he's he's been a lot of different things over the years you know he often plays these sort of unassuming or sort of deadpan very dry characters and that's where the comedy comes from and he's seems like a good quirky choice to play phoebe's dad so i am like i've i've come to expect with the show that we'll see people again if they're you know especially a part of you know, an important character's you know, back
Starting point is 00:05:03 story or whatever. So, yeah, it's interesting at the start of this block to be like, oh shit, this feels like a significant payoff. And then that's all that we saw or heard of him. Not that he, like I said, won't come back, but it was interesting to start there and
Starting point is 00:05:20 to be like, oh shit, guest star. And then, you know, kind of move on, yeah, to a bunch of episodics. But, you know, certainly a striking way to kick this thing off. Joey's manbag. Justice for Joey. justice for joie i feel like he should get a commission people probably actually started seeking out those bags in the 90s most definitely aired so uh you know chandler monica so many updates and so i'm surprised monica can't give a good massage i feel like febe should have offered to train her just because that's
Starting point is 00:05:46 the humane thing to do yeah right that's literally her profession that's what she does yeah yeah yeah and uh just again the game of joey having to like bear this bird in the longest and like you know just constantly dangling, you know, hope in sight of like, oh, finally we can let go of all the lying and all the, you know, covering up and, and you just take, yeah, like the game of that and watching him desperately try and, you know, maneuver back into a place of comfort and being denied that for so long is very funny. Yeah, Ross moving into ugly naked guys place. Love that.
Starting point is 00:06:23 We got Chandler and Monica confessing their love, which was a lovely thing. Because he said it on, he said it accidentally in the Turkey episode. And then he was like, no, I didn't say it. So him to finally admit it. Because I took note of that because he said it on accident. And then she didn't say it back. But I'm happy we finally got the full on acceptance and confession that he does. In fact, love Monica.
Starting point is 00:06:49 And then Monica loves him back. When there's a weird thing where it's like the phrasing kind of changes up because, yeah, he says, I think I love you the first. He says something, something I love you the first time. And this one, he's like, I'm in love. with her, which is like, seems like a doubling down of the intent, which is... It's very definitive, right? Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. And the whole him proposing thing was very funny
Starting point is 00:07:07 and, you know, a charming sort of like, you know, display of care and intent, even if you didn't know what he's doing, right? Yeah. Yeah, the whole up and down of Monica and Chandler has been very fun. Michael Rapaport showing up.
Starting point is 00:07:23 That was great. Phoebe with the badge, very fun. I expect we'll see him. We didn't see him quite as many times in this chunk as I expected maybe, but he also came in literally halfway through the chunk. So, you know, I expect to see him again. Rachel, I'm sorry, Joey having the Monica dream was a weird subplot. It was. And like him getting all skeved out about that and then ultimately finding out like, no, you just want intimacy and you just have it next door.
Starting point is 00:07:49 So your brain clearing itself out is kind of using Monica as a stand in for any number of people who could provide this to you. but this is an interesting ism. And then, yes, punch girl, very fun. Ross and the superintendent retirement party, very fun. So wacky that, like, you know, to have punky Brewster for such a, like, I don't know, she's like very striking and she's got that big old smile and stuff like that. It's fun to watch. But, yeah, just mainly her character is punching.
Starting point is 00:08:22 Yeah. Just, yeah, just kind of a funny bit. And then all of Rachel. I like the, yeah, continue to enjoy the way they displaced these over episodes. You know, Rachel going and having this weird, crazy snafu with all these interviews
Starting point is 00:08:37 and then getting hired and then, you know, being with these two who, you know, present well to her face and are just trying to find any excuse to get away from her and, you know, do their own thing. I felt for her. The freaking couch was crazy. Oh my God, the freaking couch.
Starting point is 00:08:54 I was like, I wish I was just there to direct you guys because that was like a frustrating experience. And as someone who's had to move couches, I know how, how consuming that can be time wise, and just how frustrating the process is in and of itself. So watching it was frustrating because I know the experience of being in it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:13 The whole thing with Mary Winchester was very funny. Yeah. Joey just try continually. Like the second you cut to inside the apartment at then was very, just, yeah, this is one of those moments where, yeah, they're teeing it up and you're like, that's very gratifying. It was very fun.
Starting point is 00:09:27 You know Ross is going to open the door and Joey's going to be like, what the hell? You know, so, yeah, it was a very great way to play into, of course,
Starting point is 00:09:35 Joey would get this wrong and also create a fun recurring bit. I wonder if we will see her again. It seems like we ought to. Yeah, lives its neighbor. So I will, okay,
Starting point is 00:09:46 that's what I was, not confused necessarily, but he finally got the right apartment. And then I thought it was him realizing that Ross got to her first, But then I guess I could also read that Oh, he thinks he's back at Ross's apartment Yeah, I think yeah
Starting point is 00:10:02 I think it works either way and I just Had more fun with the idea of him just being like Why? Like just the laws of physics Seast to exist and just every door I try will be Ross or the wrong door It's just like it's never this chick It's always Ross. Yeah But either way it works
Starting point is 00:10:19 And then yeah the smoking We had a few smoking plot lines throughout this show That is an unflattering picture Wikipedia just from Michael Rapable. He needs to talk to Wikipedia because that's crazy. You should go in and there.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Just midmouth open and just like A candid shot. The candid shot the fucking the one pink eye with the one regular eye somebody. He's got to sue somebody.
Starting point is 00:10:44 He's got to talk. He's got to talk to HR or something. Very funny. Talk to the Wikipedia people. My $2 a year should go toward fixing this. Yeah. uh anyway the smoking and then ben in the soup and the noodle soup and all the competition with joey and
Starting point is 00:11:03 sh and freaking ross and all that stuff and the birthday party and yeah we got the cups we got the freaking cups this was a fun batch it was a very fun batch yeah all right you guys so let's get into our questions here see what the people have to say before we get out of here all right let's Let's start with our first one. All right, Senrak, thank you for sending the question. Friends, friend. The one where everyone finds out is one of my favorite episodes, the pacing, the jokes, the chemistry between the six. It all feels so perfect.
Starting point is 00:11:40 Curious how you both feel about the resolution, so to speak, about the storyline and its Chandler and Monica relationship has played out in the ways you have expected. Or have the writers and the actors surprised you. Hmm. What do you think? I mean, yeah, we actually have some trivia down there that pertains to this also. I think it's been really fun. I mean, yeah, I can see why this would be another standout, another favorite, because it's, yeah, again, the interplay of the serial and the episodic elements, you know, the whole, as we've set up earlier in this little talky portion here, I can words good today. Yeah, I found just the gestation of that very fun and amusing. I really enjoyed the way that they, you know, kind of focused in and wrapped up that stretch of their story together.
Starting point is 00:12:35 You know, I really enjoyed it, so I could have watched more of it, but I also know, you know, dramatically speaking, it's a good idea to, you know, wrap that up and move along while it's still fun and endearing rather than, you know, finding a million ways to stretch this out forever. So yeah, concluding it here after, you know, what feels like an appropriate amount of time was really fun. And again, yeah, having people spy them partly Ross's new apartment kind of factoring into, you know, everybody or the remaining Phoebe Ross, et cetera, finding out. But yeah, it's made for really fun dynamics first with just Joey and everybody, then Joey Rachel and everybody, then Joey Rachel, Phoebe and everybody. And then finally, Ross. Yeah, I thought it was a great episode. I really liked the, you know, idea to do that. And the, you know, fun every time then being like,
Starting point is 00:13:25 but I think I still want to keep a secret from. And then just watching Joey get more and more exasperated, watching Rachel be on a different, you know, walk of that same road where she's still having fun with it at times. And, yeah, I thought the resolution was good. I don't know. Yeah, no, I had a lot of fun with that. I think that was my favorite episode of The Block
Starting point is 00:13:44 because, yeah, it was one that revolved around. uh most of the friends being involved with it and then the game of them knowing and who knows what and then take and taking it further because who knows what and then the ultimate uh resolution with chanler backing down because phoebe was willing to go there and it was it was just all great and then the button being ross finding out was hilarious yeah because i was like how much longer are we going to keep this up most of the cast knows already so i'm happy that we finally got that ultimate reveal and then it's addressed in the opening of the next episode so yeah all that was awesome that segue from the end of the one episode to then ross that scene at the beginning of the following
Starting point is 00:14:31 episode where ross pursed in furious and he's like yelling at them and and then they have to take that moment to be like no no no no we we love each other and the way it all switches to like oh my best friend and my sister and then he's like yelling at joey and then it's like oh you were worried about me like the doing The duality of Ross in one scene delightful. And especially on the heels of like his sandwich anger management plotline. Very, very fun. In fact, here, let's mix this up a little bit.
Starting point is 00:15:01 We'll pull in our trivia submission from Tara. All right, rejects. The big game is almost here. And for us, a real rejects the Super Bowl is practically a holiday. You heard that right. Every year, we've got the game on the TV, friends around. We're locked in because you know we got all those trailers that we've got to cover, but we're also watching the game. And that's why something like Price Picks fits perfectly into our Super Bowl tradition.
Starting point is 00:15:26 And Price Picks is America's number one fantasy daily sports app. And it's the easiest way to make watching the game even more fun, especially if you're like me, not a hardcore sports expert. So it's great for newbies like myself, but it's also great for people who are aware of sports, probably even better. Now, me wife, she loves fantasy sports apps. She plays a lot with her friends, some prize picks is great. me on the other hand i'm not some stats wizard but price picks makes it ridiculously easy for me to jump in and act like i know what i'm doing you open the app pick a sport choose players and decide if they'll get more or less on their projected stats no drafts no season long commitments just making lineups for
Starting point is 00:16:02 the game i also love the community features you can share lineups follow winners or copy lineups with one click and with early payouts if your player starts hot you can cash out early so if you're already watching the big game with us, you can make it even better. Download the Price Pix app today and use code rejects to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That's code rejects to get $50 on lineups after you
Starting point is 00:16:27 play your first $5 lineup. It's good to be right. Who says they initially, and thank you for this, they initially intended for Monica and Chandler to last a few episodes with some fun shenanigans, keeping the secret and then realizing they were better off his friends. But when the live audience cheered nonstop,
Starting point is 00:16:45 for several minutes in reaction to Monica being in bed with Chandler. The show's creators knew they had something special and used the summer break before season five to change things. Oh, wow. Dude, again, that's great. That's another, I can't fully pull all the specifics to the top of my mind. It's been a long day, but I feel like there have been a couple of things that you guys have enlightened us to in this show where it's like, yeah, we initially did this as a throwaway
Starting point is 00:17:11 gag or this wasn't intended to be a big thing. and then yeah the audience response was just so good that we were like shit we got to work with that or you know these people are on hand today shit just work with that you know and i it continues to contribute to this feeling like a living breathing you know developing situation i'm still you know i again i know that eventually the show will get simpsonized a little bit uh which is fine which i'm sure i'll still enjoy uh but thus far you know it really really feels like the writers are just yeah embracing both their inspiration and the be accidents that come out of the circumstances, you know? Yeah, no, I wholeheartedly agree. And yeah, that's a fun fact that was shared here because I was of the knowledge. I was of the knowledge. I was aware of the fact that eventually, I don't know how long it lasts, but that those two would eventually have some sort of something over the course of the show.
Starting point is 00:18:09 But the fact that it is something that was changed to. be a thing because of how fans responded to it is super cool. And I love that when it's a fine line, right? Because I love when writers can tell the story they want to tell, but I also love when they are smart enough and intuitive enough to listen to where fans are clamoring for. So I feel like them finding the fine line between what serves our story, which is authentic to where we want to go and where fans are.
Starting point is 00:18:44 really invested. I feel like they found the perfect medium. And I like that they're able to have these characters date be in a relationship, be in love, while finding ways to keep them authentically themselves. And even the fact that they are authentically themselves within this relationship only makes it better and makes it stronger. Because yeah, it didn't feel like they had to rewrite the characters to make them work. I was like, okay, I can see why these people work. And then They're a fun dynamic. And they're the hell. They're by far way healthier than Ross and Rachel ever were.
Starting point is 00:19:19 And I hope it stays that way. Yeah. I hope they don't break up and get back together and have a whole shenanic. And I just hope they can have a nice relationship with more normal, marital or relationship woes that they can work through. Yeah. Goodness. Goodness gracious.
Starting point is 00:19:39 It's interesting because, yeah, I do like what the combination of them does. do like what conversations are able to come out of that because there's that's a very real thing you know that that Chandler and Monica go through later in this block where she's like yeah you need to figure out some stuff about being in a relationship because you know I can't do the growing for you and that's a real thing and you know they they don't actually languish in that for too long and I'm not upset that they don't but just the acknowledgement of that and the sort of yeah rectifying of their intent but also the acknowledgement of like yeah there are some things about Chandler that will probably be very good for Monica, but there are a bunch of things about
Starting point is 00:20:16 Monica that will probably cause Chandler to grow into a, you know, more fully defined person. And, uh, and yeah, it's nice. Especially after so long, you know, like everything is well ingrained and the chemistry with the cast is still terrific. And there's so much fun to be had with this combination of the two characters. So yeah, I think it's, it's, it was a good call on their part to recognize that people were into this and to actually give it a shot dramatically. Because I think They've, again, part of the great thing about the show that makes it so relatable is that they do, you know, overturn a lot of different relationship and coming of age as a young person in the city type stones, you know. Yeah. No, they do a great job with that.
Starting point is 00:20:59 And I'm happy that they are continuing. We have five more seasons of it, baby. Yeah. Golly. Golly. All right. All right. All right.
Starting point is 00:21:08 All right. Right. We're going to go to a J. Rustin. What's up, Jay Rustin? Oh, yeah. We're switching it up. Going all around. Okay. We're going all around. Yeah. Question. What Rejet could pull off smoking and what could not? Hmm. That's a good question. I mean, Greg already has. Greg has smoked the Sigs. I don't smoke cigarettes. I smoke other stuff. Who could pull off smoking? I feel like I feel like everyone except for Koi and Tara Really? Really? Okay.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Actually, me. I'm trying to imagine Koi. I guess I can see a version of Koi smoking. Not the one that we... I can't see the Koi I know smoking but like I could imagine him being a guy in Boston smoking.
Starting point is 00:22:04 For sure. Yeah, it was like a big old coat smoking just frustrated at the world to the cigarette. Yeah, not this coy, but another coy. I can see him in a different reality. I have a hard time imagining Tara smoking. Weirdly, I can see it. Weirdly, Tara has enough abandoned that I could see it.
Starting point is 00:22:24 You know, I can see Tara smoking when she gets drunk. Sure. Oh, see, I just imagine Tara in like a heightened detective scenario where she's like. Oh, fair. Fair, I can see that too. You know, because Tara like, you know, Tara is like unflappable in a way. where I could see, especially when she's playing like a badass type character.
Starting point is 00:22:43 I could absolutely see terror. You know, like, even on her own, I don't know. I, Terry, you know, fuck off. You know, and she's, I see it. I don't know why. I sort of see it. Okay. I feel like she would know how to hold a cigarette.
Starting point is 00:22:59 And weirdly, I don't know why, because I, again, Andrew doesn't seem like the kind of guy to smoke, really. But something about Andrew, I'm like, if he wanted to take up smoking, I bet he would get good at it. Okay. If he could, I know he can't know. But like, you know, if he wanted to be a fedora and a cigarette guy, I can see it. I can see him with the imagery.
Starting point is 00:23:20 It's like that's the thing. The image pops to my mind's eye. The image I see in my mind if Andrew Smoke, he has to have a shirt, a tie, but a tie that's loose with a giant coat, a brown coat. And he's essentially Gordon. Yeah. He's Jim Gordon, except he's Jim Gordon. They sure have the same last name. So it works.
Starting point is 00:23:39 And yeah, he's getting down to the case. Different kind of detective than Tara is. Detective, nonetheless. Mm-hmm. I can see that. Yeah. And then, yeah, I can see you smoking. Me?
Starting point is 00:23:51 Yeah. Okay. I mean, I know what, you know, I can do the postures and stuff like that. So, wait, could you see me smoking? Yeah, I can see you smoking. Okay. Okay. I mean, you've been around me. So you know.
Starting point is 00:24:00 I can see you smoke. Okay. Hell yeah. I've seen you smoke other things. This is true. So it's not hard to imagine. I've seen you smoke other things. I don't mean I'd bet, I'd bet head to it.
Starting point is 00:24:08 I don't imagine you being a, cigarette guy. I don't really see that as being like a part of your identity. I don't see you as somebody who would assimilate that either folkly or casually. The other thing, sure. So it's Tara and Andrew for me.
Starting point is 00:24:24 They fly to the top of my list. But... Taryn and Andrew at the top real list. I don't know why, though. I don't know hard time imagining Roxy smoking. Some people more than others. Yeah, I don't know why. Because Roxy also has a smoky voice and I know she likes certain kinds of smoke, but like, I don't know. I, for
Starting point is 00:24:39 some reason I don't see Roxy cigarette adjacent at all. Yeah. Yeah. For some reason, I don't know why. There are a lot of logical reasons where I would be like, she should be higher on the list maybe, but no, not for me. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm right there with you. But leave us your thoughts on who could pull it off, you know? Yeah. Thanks. Thanks, Jay Rushing. Yeah. All right. All right. Coming in, mixing it up still. We're going to Tara again.
Starting point is 00:25:07 Hello. Tadda, because we were talking about other Tara in the last one. Unless this is just Tara Erickson pledging, which thank you. Thank you, but you could just ask this question here. Anyway, Tara says, happy friends day. John and Aaron, happy friends day to you. The last couple of blocks have had some of the most iconic episodes. Monica's turkey dance, Rachel not being able to gossip when everyone finds out.
Starting point is 00:25:30 And of course, pivot. Pivot! Do you have a list of five favorite episodes from what you've seen so far? Of the season of the whole show. That's freaking hard as shit. The show. Oh, yeah. The show.
Starting point is 00:25:43 I mean, I can think of a, like, I need to go through the list now because we've seen nine, a hundred plus episodes. Yeah, that's right. I think for, at the top of my head. Definitely the bottle one. Yeah. Definitely where everyone's getting ready. That was the one I was thinking.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Yeah, yeah. That's definitely one. I was going to say, Thanksgiving football. maybe. That's probably another one. That's an iconic one. Let's look back. I feel like four, three and great ones. The, okay, from this, it would, the one where Ross and Rachel breakup could be in there. Could be in there. Yeah. The one, we just watched one. The one where Joey keeps having to say that I'm disgusting. Oh, that's one of years. Okay. I'm Joey. I'm disgust. Of course, I'm a pervert or whatever. just the running
Starting point is 00:26:36 the running joke of that was as this very funny to me um yeah oh goodness the one we just watched the end of season four could be up there for me as well okay yeah
Starting point is 00:26:52 with the wedding yeah I mean that was that was iconic and I mean what a freaking bomb to drop on us holy crap yeah dude uh okay that was a clip show the wedding just i'm like i know i know and there are certain that's the trouble is like you get lost because you remember like a plot line
Starting point is 00:27:11 but then there are multiple plot lines yeah each episode has like three plot lines two to three pot lines oh my goodness this is a really tough one honestly we should we just got to be able to name at least because uh because there yeah
Starting point is 00:27:27 there's so many uh i'm gonna i'm gonna walk i'm gonna fly close to the sun i'm just gonna stoke for inspiration. I'm going to see. Let's see. We don't want to get too dangerous. Most beloved friends in the first five seasons from only
Starting point is 00:27:44 seasons one through five. Okay. I mean the blackout one is iconic. Chandler getting uh, Chandler getting locked in to the thing. No one's ready. One of my favorites.
Starting point is 00:28:02 Yeah. What the problem is. video oh yeah yeah the one yeah the one with all the different things giving i mean the turkey on the head and all the different thanksgivings oh the one yeah the one they switch apartments that was a fun one yeah oh my god the one were joe we had to and channel had to pee on mona go that was a good one so freaking and we learned that day that you're not actually supposed to do that yes um golly the one with the flashback was pretty crazy with all of them as like young almost not hooking up together
Starting point is 00:28:35 uh god man i feel like there i feel like there's a great one i'm like neglecting to name there there's a number of great ones i mean the one where ross and rachel take a break is iconic too um hypnosis tape yeah i'm definitely gonna have to sit down and like actually thoughtfully review all that episodes because this is this is one of those things where you know it doesn't matter that much so you should just be able to blurt out five but for me i'm always like i want to know what my actual answer is so right I want to feel spiritually correct about this. We'll have seen double the show at that point.
Starting point is 00:29:17 But that's a question we asked at the very end of the show. Because Joey puts on, okay, well, there's got to be one episode that includes Tom Selleck for us. Because he's just great. He's fantastic. One of the Eddie episodes. Ooh, I think the one with Julianne Roberts might be one of my favorites. Dude, the Julia Roberts one, that's an epic two-parter. we can count that as one right yeah oh god the one with the bullies was pretty fun two parties
Starting point is 00:29:46 man leave us your favorites down below you us your favorites we look i feel us your favorites we look i feel like we list a decent amount there's probably five somewhere in there oh yeah the fisher stevens a psychiatrist oh man there's just so many good ones oh my god guys leave us your favorite ones ask us again later and I'll start keeping a better compilation of all the best ones for myself. But, uh, but, but yeah. Pivot! Pivot!
Starting point is 00:30:14 Pivot! Nikki Sonorisa. Aaron and John, happy friends day. Happy friends day, Nikki. How are you enjoying season five? Really enjoying it. Friends has never, does not have a bad season. Also, have either of you ever had a crush on a friend?
Starting point is 00:30:34 Oh, so? How did you handle it? give us the tea. Oh, man. That's, that's freaking tough having a crush on a friend. I've had a crush on a friend before. It's hard.
Starting point is 00:30:47 I don't know. First couple times it would have been younger, so I probably just didn't say anything. I had one, I mean, yeah, there was, there was one time I had a crush on a friend of mine,
Starting point is 00:31:01 and it turned, I found out later on, it was like, oh, it was the classic situation. I'm like, oh, you both, they're like interested in each other, but you both are like, your friends and you don't want to mess anything up and each of you's like so paranoid to say anything. And then, uh, and then it almost happened and then it didn't.
Starting point is 00:31:19 And it was, it was, it was tough. It's, it's, yeah. Sheesh. But, uh, but, uh, I don't know. It, uh, in recent life better. But, but generally when I've been in this situation where I'm like, oh, man, this person is my friend. And I've got, I'm got in the fields. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:35 has typically not led to much in my life. But, you know. Yeah. Although, not to say I haven't had wonderful, you know, you know, some of my best relationships have been with people who I'm very good friends with already. I think that theme was a good one. So I'm not always good at being the one to be like, hey, friend, I like you. But, you know, I have had friends feeling the same way toward me who have shown me the way,
Starting point is 00:32:01 who've shown me what to do. but oftentimes yeah I'm like a cluster of conflicted like oh god what do I don't want to make things weird I'm just overthinking the whole thing yeah I had a crush on one of my best friends in high school
Starting point is 00:32:17 and yeah that was tough and she's been in a lovely relationship with her girlfriend for the past like 10 13 years so I'm like good for you guys and then the next it's happened a couple of times And it's usually just like, you know, don't say anything.
Starting point is 00:32:35 I'm just fucking anguish inside. The last time it happened, it went disastrously. So, but yeah, you know, I typically try not to, especially if it's like within the same common space or like a friend group. I feel like it can explode in my own experience. But not to say that it's everyone's experience. It doesn't necessarily have to go that way. but yeah I would typically try to not
Starting point is 00:33:04 date within pools of people that I know because it could get messy but yeah very happy relationship right now and yeah I appreciate the question you're still trying to find your friends episodes
Starting point is 00:33:19 there's so many now there are so many there's so many there's over a hundred of them and the titles what we've learned in this block in particular is that the titles often don't help because the titles often are linked to like a C plot. Yeah, which is very odd.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Yeah. It's like it's weird. Sometimes they're very much tied into the A plot. Sometimes they're tied to like a C plot. Sometimes they're like a very specific thing that appeared in the episode or a specific side character or sometimes they're like a thematic concept. It's hard to guess the name. It's very hard to guess the names.
Starting point is 00:33:54 We get it right sometimes. Not all the time though. Yeah. Sometimes they're surprised you. Bill Lawrence brought an episode. Oh wow. Where we got Bill Lawrence? One of the tabs you clicked had Bill Lawrence on that.
Starting point is 00:34:05 Dude. Which one? This guy who created friends. I'm going to start the guy. There it is. Oh, yes. Season one episode. Yeah, he's the guy who created Scrubs.
Starting point is 00:34:13 And I believe he also created Ted Lassau. Yeah. And shrinking. Uh, yeah, yeah. He's looking. The one with the fake Monica. All right. I remember that one.
Starting point is 00:34:25 Yeah, dude. The one with the birth. That's when, uh, this one Ben was born. Mm. Oh, yeah, and you got that lovely, like, weird side thing with Leah Remini and Joey in that episode. Yeah, that's right. That was lovely. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Oh, my. I'm wearing Monica. I'm sorry, when, Phoebe had a thing with Charlie Shane and they're all itchy. Yeah, and he's like a sailor man. Yeah. Yeah. I don't remember that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:49 So many things have happened. Oh. Oh, which is the one? Which is the episode where Ross is playing his music? I love that episode. I love that episode. I love Ross's a fun one. his sound love ross's sound the one was ross's thing oh no he had a skin condition on that one yeah
Starting point is 00:35:05 no that's where he's got that weird thing he's trying to get i don't know the name of the music one but that was a good one that was i i root for ross and his music oh yeah oh yeah i die do too the one with ross and rachel take a break oh they ran away for the summer it went upstate oh yeah where they read each other's books with joey and and rachel that was fun this is our own clip show where we just recollect just reminisce on all the episodes of watch. Yeah, there was a whole episode where Rachel quit smoking. That's right, because there's the one where they have that little girl
Starting point is 00:35:37 who's like in a show. That little girl from the episode where Rachel quits, the one where Rachel quits like became the actual actor lady or something. We said Rachel quit smoking? I mean, she quit her job? No. I thought we did a smoking thing with Rachel in the past.
Starting point is 00:35:55 We don't know with Chandler, but I don't think Rachel's ever been a smoker. No, that's right. It's Chandler. There might be. Yeah. It might be. Yeah, he's had a couple of relapses of smoking. But it seems like we're about to go into a third one because he went all the way to Rachel's job. And that's going to be a problem because Monica cannot stand smoking from the looks of it.
Starting point is 00:36:11 May Whitman is this actress. May Whitman is the name I know from the modern times. Who is this May Whitman? May Whitman. Oh, that chick. Dude, that was the little girl. Holy crap. Was she the duff?
Starting point is 00:36:27 She's the duff. Was she the Hillary Duff? She's the Duff Diddley Duff Duff. And apparently she played Ang in M. Night Shyamalan's airbender. Hey. Just kidding. Have you ever seen Avatar? The last airbender?
Starting point is 00:36:41 No, I have not bent. You guys got to cover that one. Yeah. It would be a fun one. Yeah, I'm mean. Yeah, we'll do it. We'll do it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:50 The one with football, Ross playing rugby. Them and Britain was great. Frigin Joey ballroom dancing. There's so many good ones. ones. Some of great ones. Smelly cat, man, all that. Freaking Phoebe gave birth. The one with all the embryos I remember as I remember the title and I feel like this was a good episode. It was the 100th episode. That's right. But yeah, I'm just going to read episodes forever unless we end this. So next time, feel free to ask again. Is that it? Hopefully by then I will just,
Starting point is 00:37:22 I'll hopefully have a thing. Do we have all the questions? Do we answer them all? I think we did them all. All right, you guys. We're going to keep scrolling until we we figure out what we want and then we'll let you guys know in the next one. But until then, stay friendly. Keep, keep hiding your relationship from your other friends. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:37 Keep wearing turkeys in your head. Keep slurping up that noodle soup. Keep slurping up that noodle soup. And remember to pivot. Tevot! Until next time. Duses.
