Starting point is 00:02:02 It's a beautiful synergist to get experience, okay? We're all talking as friends do. It's very lovely. Yeah, I think I said all the things before we get into the review. So without further ado, Johnny Boy, how you feel about this block?
Starting point is 00:02:18 This was a delightful block. I thought it was a strong block. It had some sad moments for sure. I miss my guy, Mike. I don't know, you know, this is one of those interesting ones where I'm like, okay, so they brought him back for like this hot second and left off on this like,
Starting point is 00:02:34 You know, if it's the last special, like, you know, it's kind of cool. So, like, I could see how that might be the last time. But this is also a show where, I don't know, David has come back three times now. You never know when Mike might surprise us. It's true. So I'm holding out hope even though I don't really expect Mike to return. And I'm also surprised that Dermott Mulroney as Gavin was just kind of like a quickie guess thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:59 And didn't really quite turn into much. They just dropped that off. Yeah. Yeah, kind of just, yeah, which I mean, not a big problem. It was just like I was surprised, especially because, like, I don't know where his star was at the time of this, you know, show recording. But, you know, he's a notable actor. So I would have assumed, given his stature, that he might have endured for longer. Apparently, the one where Monica sings is freaking, like a full-ass 30-minute episode.
Starting point is 00:03:28 I felt it. I felt the run full a little longer. I'm like, we're getting a lot of different storylines right now. And yeah, it was a great one. Chandler was pretty much the through line throughout most of those storylines, and he was great. He's best part of those episodes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Or that episode. What did we get? We got them doing the piano bar thing, and then, yeah, Monica flashing everyone. That's great. Whole family entertainment for you. Yeah. The thing with them, like, trying to do the date, I thought was pretty fun. And, yeah, her going out with John Lovitz.
Starting point is 00:04:02 That was a nice guest spot. Goodness. This was, this was, this has some interesting guests. We got Jeff Goldblum in this block. Yes, that made me so happy to see Jeff. Gas in this block. Science boy is in this block. Freaking, yeah, we got the one with,
Starting point is 00:04:22 I like that we got that waiter back. Yeah. The same waiter we've seen a couple times. He's like always kind of annoyed by their shit, except this time he comp, the crab cakes. almost seemed like you wanted to go on it. Yeah, I remember him and the other waiter. I can't remember if that was the same actor,
Starting point is 00:04:38 but I was like, you guys are having like your own little banter going on. It's like almost like you guys are ready for your own spin-off or something. Yeah, absolutely. Waiters. Bill Lewis as Steve. This was the guy, sweet-lite. That's right. You called him up before because it's sweet-lite.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Yeah, he was in our last block. It's in episode 11. Okay, all right. Heck, yeah, Gleba. Gleba. I don't remember that. word now forever. But yes, Monica sang.
Starting point is 00:05:05 We got the blind dates. Freaking them figuring that out. I like that we've had some things here and there where people were figuring stuff out or that whole bit where Joey's like, I just observed the situation when like trying to give the money over to Chandler. Everyone's too proud to ask for the money. Yeah. He's like, I just figured you're done in a job.
Starting point is 00:05:26 So you must need some money. That was very fun. The whole boob job misunderstanding was great. as well. Yes. Them have them and the whole debate as to whether or not to do it in the same room as Emma was pretty wild. I'm like on the one hand I'm like, you know, probably
Starting point is 00:05:41 not going to have a big effect on the baby, but then again that's not your baby. Exactly. It's even we're even weirder. I don't think it's a good idea. I'm glad I just went to the next room. Is there any circumstance where it's not weird to have sex with a baby? I don't think there is really is. I mean like you know, I don't think there is
Starting point is 00:05:57 such a circumstance and even if you are the baby's parents, that's about the most acceptable circumstance, but I personally, if I had a small human in the room, I would just, I wouldn't be able to vote. Yeah. I wouldn't be in my right
Starting point is 00:06:13 sort of freedom of mind and body. I wouldn't be about that life. But, you know, hey, who knows? But John Lovitz, Iconically sad, sad sack guy.
Starting point is 00:06:29 I love the backstory on Phoebe. the whole thing where she mugged raw. Like you saw that coming by, I thought that was very fun and charming, but she mugged Ross in the past. And then finally, yeah, gives him back his science boy comic. I thought that was very sweet. Yeah. Joey with the
Starting point is 00:06:45 P. Also very funny, which is a good acting technique. You know, you find some other kind of stimulus that you can use, iate the tension that the scene needs. To substitute some other circumstance for the thing you need to feel on stage. just with dinemate technique.
Starting point is 00:07:03 Just Joey should have dived up. I feel like, you know, if you're going to do that, he should have dived it up. You know, I feel like if that's the choice you're making as an actor, go for it, but also, you know, stay strapped. The one with Joey's depends. Yeah, yeah. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:07:18 You know, like he could have saved himself. Getting fired by Jeff Goldblum, I assume, unless Jeff Goldblum likes that. You might. And then, you know, Joey got promoted. Yeah. But yeah, I like the conceit of Chandler and Monica both asking for a loan. Even though that that, you know, doesn't like the loan part of it.
Starting point is 00:07:39 I guess he just does loan them $4,000. Yeah, which is wild. I guess he gets a cover for two months right now. Yeah. And I thought the handyman and the like the baby proving was going to become a bigger thing. But that was a fun bit. Yeah. Either way.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Mike not wanting to get married. Broke my heart. I did. I was like, oh, you guys are so good together. I know you just got out of a nine-year relationship. So I understand it, but still, it's different person to person. I'm sure you could change your mind over time. Yeah, and it's sad that the conversation had to come up with one of those things
Starting point is 00:08:13 were like, yeah, if this came up in real life, you just wouldn't be able to unknow it if, yeah, there is such like kind of a misalignment for once. Joey's bedtime penguin palhugging is very fun. Yeah. Joey and I mean, Chandler and Ross is like going back and forth. I can only assume Facebook posts, essentially. Very topical.
Starting point is 00:08:38 I was like, oh shit, we're getting into the social media age of friends right at the end here. So yeah, the guy showing up to try and date Chandler and then nobody caring when Ross is dead except for that one chick who then didn't want to care that he's now alive. Which is wild. It's so funny. But that was comedic. The fact that Ross comes out and it blows it, but he's like, she had a crush on me. So funny.
Starting point is 00:09:06 So funny. I guess a win is a win. Yeah. And Ross's book. And my heart hurts for the lottery situation. Second, that bullfellow. But I'm happy for him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:19 I saw it coming. Oh, no. This is going to hurt my heart. And sure enough, it did. I thought they're going to cut to a thing at the end. were like yeah i just found this lottery taken on the street and i'm now a millionaire like you're just some random guy and we see it but yeah essentially more or less that's what happened with with the posting with gunther paul ruddy all right dermot milleroney i know the difference
Starting point is 00:09:43 germit milroney dyn mcdermit dan mdermott dillan mdermott we see him hold wait stand by part of me wants to pull no it it would have already seen Dermott. So I can't like side by side. There was an S&L, there's an S&L. Oh, this guy, yes.
Starting point is 00:10:09 There was an S&L sketch they did, which was like, is it Dylan McDermott or Dylan Mulroney? And no one could figure it out. It's like, which guy is which. That's funny. But I've always been able to do. So I've pride myself on no.
Starting point is 00:10:25 They don't look alike, though. not that much no not that much not at all you know are they friends like I guess they are they're on some show together I guess I mean yeah it's like they're they're working enough actors they have to have had yeah it's durable Mick Dillan they're they're working enough actors that I have to met cross paths yeah it's them right there more than once yeah but and there's a picture of them with Robb uh the low robber for low okay speaking of robber for low we have patreon questions yay so without further ado let's jump on in nicky sarisa thank you for sending in the question girl happy freaking friends jay jaron
Starting point is 00:11:14 happy friends day gentlemen i appreciate you we just said the thing we know what day it is what time it is Episode 15 of season 9 has one of my favorite Ross and Phoebe moments. What would you say is your favorite Ross and Phoebe moment of the series? Jaron, happy for instance. Oh, I just repeat itself. It's been repeated. It's a good one. What are we going to have to, yeah, I mean, again.
Starting point is 00:11:38 There's been so many moments. It's been 200 moments. That's, every time you Google something, you're like, uh, the best of a rosary moments before season nine all day. all right all right all right let's see Ross and I mean because yeah
Starting point is 00:12:02 it's like the thing with the mugging is so iconic uh was I think it was one of your favorite moments but I guess that's not specifically a moment between them but when Ross is uh playing the the instrument when yeah that that that thank you
Starting point is 00:12:20 that that would be one of them for sure when when Ross is playing his sound at the end and Phoebe loves it and Phoebe yeah oh what happened what's the it's like he's yeah it's really bad she tells him it's bad because of whatever the situation is with moniker or whatever but then yeah moments later is like but it was genius like yeah yeah it would absolutely be i think from that episode i love that so much and the the interplay between them and her like admiring his weirdness so great love it yeah there's a lot of there's some some good ones i'm struggling to think of them because embarrassment of riches it truly is
Starting point is 00:13:03 oh what's going on with this uh the ball oh the bike that wasn't them no it was them that was a fun one i remember the bike episode uh fire alarm no that was a phone if yeah fire alarm she's by herself and ross and joey are together for the fire alarm with the mugging the ride along i don't remember them together for that okay yeah i always saw that one entire episode of making ross doubt his scientific beliefs i remember that one so that was very fun i was reading here when when she's uh you remember that oh the oh regarding evolution worth worried about being alone I'm caught involved more than
Starting point is 00:14:07 more than them the two of them I was gonna say we could go to our how you Oh yeah were they almost hooked up I remember that Yeah let's see what are how you doing has to say Quick question When was the last time that you actually thought About fiber I'm not talking about protein
Starting point is 00:14:23 I'm not talking about calories I'm talking about fiber During my cut last year I was drinking Huell several times a week Because I needed something that was easy That could keep me consistent as well And honestly, I started viewing fiber like a shield bar in a video game. I heard this analogy once because when it's full, hunger doesn't hit as hard when it's empty. Suddenly, I'm like going through the kitchen cabinets and such.
Starting point is 00:14:47 With filming, editing, workouts, and days where I, you know, realize I sort of forgot to eat. Huell has become my backup plan for chaos and consistency when it comes to my macro plans. And normally what we have here is the black edition ready to drink because it's a complete meal and a bottle. I can grab and go. Coy, drink the last bottle. Thanks, Coy. Now I'll use my own promo code to buy more. I'm really happy I don't have any right now to do in this video.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Thanks, Coy. Anyway, what's great about them is they have 35 grams of protein. 7 grams of fiber, 27 essential vitamins and minerals, no artificial sweeteners, colors, or flavors. It's gluten-free and under $5 per meal. You see, I brought these from home because when I want something more customizable, mixed with fruit or certain types of almond milk, I use their black addition powder.
Starting point is 00:15:31 They've got 40 grams of protein. same complete meal benefits. And I can shake water or blend it with ice, fruit, peanut butter, even, sometimes with yogurt. There's actually a good amount of fiber in it, too. What do you know? So with a limited time offer, you can get Huell today with my exclusive offer of 15% off online
Starting point is 00:15:49 with my code Rejects at huel.com slash rejects. New customers only. Thank you, Huell, for partnering, supporting real rejects, and for supporting my whole body, baby. What the fuck? Whoa. What the hell? Why there's so many tabs all of a sudden.
Starting point is 00:16:08 Weird. I've never seen that before. What? I wish you guys could see the top of the screen right now. That's odd as hell. Why is this? Too many taps. Too many taps.
Starting point is 00:16:24 I am shocked. I'm shocked. Yeah. Oh my God. See, people are just like dropping quotes in here. and I can like almost see the scenes, but also. I think we got some, a couple good ones. Yeah, them hooking up evolution thing was freaking hilarious.
Starting point is 00:16:51 Oh yeah, when she's trapped with Ross and Susan in the Jenner closet of the hospital. That was a good one. That was a good one. Yeah. Ross, want to hear something weird? Phoebe always. 100%. 100%.
Starting point is 00:17:06 Oh, dude. so many good ones you have to all fill in your good ones as well um what the hell we have we have uddles and noodles of tabs and i've never seen it ever do that before yeah what what put what all right we're gonna just pull up a whole new window yep yep yep yep all right all right it must be some kind of sinking thing with uh with bro um Anyway. We'll get back there somehow. Calvin and the chipmunk.
Starting point is 00:17:44 No, that's very far in the past. Yeah, I'm going to roll down, brother. Yeah, man, the squeakle, though. Squeakle, though. That was better than the first one. Squeakle. Squeakle. Squeakle, he's the captain.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Team squeakle for sure. Ah, God, what has happened here? You guys are witnessing the one where everything is imploded. Everything is all over the place. Disarray. Oh, there it is. We're back. We're back, baby.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Eric. Edick. Hit him, John. Eric 71 7151 71 7151 Eric's When you guys say You're chiming in by the way
Starting point is 00:18:18 Follow along with the DVDs You guys are aware That the DVDs have longer scenes right What? No I'm not aware Oh wow What? For example
Starting point is 00:18:28 There is an opening In the one with the boob job Where everyone Rachel Doey Chandler and Monica Watch Emma Crawl What? Bibi walks in seeing everyone's stand still so she picks up a strainer
Starting point is 00:18:40 everyone has them walks up and says who's painting this that's funny oh wow okay why are we not seeing these crazy thank you for letting us know that actually because yes we are
Starting point is 00:18:55 watching this from what is available on HBO Mac so if that's going to screw up your sink I'm very sorry but I didn't realize that makes sense it seems like the exact kind of thing especially when we were living in a time where physical media was media was the form of media for shit that you wanted to watch
Starting point is 00:19:15 off of the restraints of the scheduling of terrestrial television so they must have done that to sweeten the deal for people which is sick but I'm sorry if that's made your sinking experience harder I don't know what's more surprising the fact that this is actually a thing or that we're learning this almost nine seasons into the show yeah yeah maybe they didn't start adding them into the DVDs until later Maybe Eric is the first DVD watcher.
Starting point is 00:19:40 If you are, congratulations, sir, Eric. We appreciate you in your presence. Comment below if you have the DVD. What's the best DVD, like, extended, deleted moment? Oh, yeah, please. Please give us your favorite moment we can't watch here on streaming. Yeah, what have we missed? Yes, please.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Thank you, Eric. Appreciate you. And happy friends day. Last question from Jay Rustin to ask, what reject would you take a trip to Vermont to for the weekend? I mean, you just have like a bunch of different, you know, flavors, but everyone would be cool to go to Vermont. Yeah, I've never been to Vermont.
Starting point is 00:20:23 Visit Bernie Sanders, get some maple syrup, watch White Christmas. White Christmas? Yeah, I think they're traveling to Vermont for something in that movie. Oh, I never heard of White Christmas. There's Vermont. White Christmas is like a classic film, and it spawned the song that goes, I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
Starting point is 00:20:49 I know the song. Bing Crosby. Wow. Bing Crosby and Danny Kay and Rosemary Clooney. Oh, that's one of the 50s. Vera Ellen. Yeah. This is a classic Christmas film.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Siri, pull up Black Christmas. Black Christmas is also a. Black Christmas is the proto-slasher movie from the 70s, directed by the same director of a Christmas story. Oh, wow. This is an iconic horror film. Really? Yes, it is.
Starting point is 00:21:20 And it's a staple of the genre, and it's often undercredited for being one of the formative slasher movies ahead of Halloween. Contemporary to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre isn't your most traditional slasher, but that certainly adds to the genre. So, yeah. I was joking. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:21:38 Black Christmas, iconic movie. They have remade it as Black X-Miss, and I think they've even made a third Black Christmas something or other. So, yeah. So Christmas story, Black Christmas, back-to-back double feature. And, yeah. I guess that's why we've never had an African-American Christmas movie. Well, you know.
Starting point is 00:21:56 There's this Christmas. That's-Rox, Bigger, Blacker Christmas. Chris Rocks Bigger and Blacker Christmas. Oh, that's so good. Bigger, blacker Christmas. Please coming to a theater near you. Yeah, Bob Clark, man. Bob Clark, Christmas story.
Starting point is 00:22:18 Black Christmas directed Porkies as well and baby geniuses. So who was the star of White Christmas again? Bing Crosby. You think Bing Crosby ever met Bill Cosby? I hope not. But that would be. plausible, actually. Could Bing Crosby
Starting point is 00:22:38 ever be to Bill Cosby? Yes! They met a crossover! They appeared together on television on the rich little show. Wow.
Starting point is 00:22:53 So look at that. We could watch Bing and Bill. We could get Cosby, Crosby. Cosby, Crosby. We can get Cosby, team triosby. But yes, white Christmas, charming movie, it's musical, there's song and dance.
Starting point is 00:23:09 There's lots of snow, snow, snow, snow, snow. Yes. It won't be long. And who will be dead with snow. Yeah. But to answer the original question, Vermont. Yeah. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:23:22 To frickin Vermont. I think it would be fun to do a rejects trip to Vermont. Vermont. Yeah. Who would be best in Vermont? What's cool? Siri, can you pull up Vermont? What does it look like in Vermont?
Starting point is 00:23:39 John is Siri in the situation. I mean, you probably get a full range of season. Oh, very pretty. Look at them maples. Wow. Vermont must be known for other stuff too, but every picture of Vermont on Google is in the autumn, apparently. It just stays beautiful.
Starting point is 00:23:59 You know what? I'm not saying this just because we're on camera together. I think I'd go to Vermont with you, John. We're going to Vermont. Yeah. I think we would have a very nice time in Vermont. You and I would probably be able to synchronize the pace of Vermont with each other's pace. Yes.
Starting point is 00:24:16 And we would, yeah, I can see us going on some nice walks and hikes and, you know, eat some veggies and start to do some painting. Yeah, do some pain. Go, you know, do a maple syrup flight. Ooh. I would love that. Go watch Bernie Sanders talk about some stuff. Okay. Is that where he is?
Starting point is 00:24:35 Senator of Vermont. I don't know. Yeah. I should know that, but I don't know that. Yeah, United States Senator for freaking Vermont. Hey. There's your boy. Hey, Vermont boy.
Starting point is 00:24:47 In fact, four years after this episode aired or one of these episodes air, four years after 2003, he became the Vermont senator. So, you know, maybe friends. He was watching friends. he's inspired. Hey, he's actually from David Dizig was he born in I don't think so. Oh, he's in he's born in New York boy. Hey. Yeah, he's like Hank Hill. He's born in New York. Was Hank Hill born in New York? There's a plot line that involves this. Yeah, he he finds out, you know, like on his birth certificate or something that, yeah, Cotton had dragged his mom to New York for some, like, they were trying to assassinate Fidel Castro to Yankee. game and she ends up giving birth to Hank in like Yankee Stadium or like a taxi cab or some some convoluted thing and then Hank is like really shaken by the whole ordeal and his
Starting point is 00:25:45 sense of identity is all like destroyed and you know because he's a New Yorker yeah his whole identity has changed I had a bagel and I liked it no no more lies I loved that bagel I think it's a semi-controversial plotline among, you know, King of the Hill fans. But it is amusing, I find. That's hilarious. That doesn't change to think about the man where he's born. He's a Texan through and through. His narrow urethra, his fat toes.
Starting point is 00:26:19 They can't work out. But yeah, we're going to watch White and Black Christmas. Yeah, double feature. That would be a great, a weird-ass double feature, but I like a weird-ass double-feature. Do they come out exactly? Exactly, yeah, exactly 20 years apart. Exx, oh my God, you're correct, yeah. That's why they were like, you know, we could do an anniversary edition or we could do the black version with not, no black hair.
