Starting point is 00:01:04 Should we watch Furiosa, anyone have anything to say? You guys want to update them on your life or I don't know, give a di-tribe of anything. Your intro makes me feel like I'm going to have a panic attack. That's the audience as well. So you are the voice of everyone out there. And I love you.
Starting point is 00:01:20 You are really the voice. It was fantastic. You were fantastic. And I, you know what I have to say, What a day, what a lovely day. Whenever Tara gives us an intro. I like it. He sounded.
Starting point is 00:01:30 like a pirate. Now what has Roxy got to say besides a panic attack? I think nothing. I think, Furiosa, we go. Yeah, okay. We go?
Starting point is 00:01:38 Yeah, okay. It's just to be so good because you and I don't remember movies at all and he knows everything, so I'm looking to you, Andrew. Encyclopedia. Yeah, yeah. We shall see.
Starting point is 00:01:48 He will keep us grounded. Let's do this. You think they got her for that one second? I think they did. Yeah. Well, we're going to look in the trivia. Oh, my God. Damn.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Oh, my God. That was awesome. Holy tamale. I'm sorry, Roxy. You didn't get your... I don't care. It's okay. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Here we go. I mean, I wish. You said like... Great job, Simon Duggan. I do care, but like the movie was amazing, so I just love sexy time and you know it. Yeah, guitar guy. Let's hear it. That's who I would dress up for Halloween.
Starting point is 00:02:29 the guitar guy. Yeah. But I got to get the fire guitar. In my mind, they did kiss, just so you guys now. I'm with you on that. There we go. I think these are shots from three. Yeah, there's shot from the other, yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:40 That was cool that they had Max in there, too, for that one little shot. I mean earlier in the film. The back of his head, yeah, I know you mean. There might still be some credits here, but if you guys are listening to us an app or Spotify, give us a five-star rating, please. Bless you. Thank you. What's going on, Sneezy McGee? I guess I'm allergic.
Starting point is 00:02:59 to the Sheejects. We take that with pride. I don't remember Scrotus and Fury Road. I could be totally wrong there. The name Scroatus is too close to Scrodom. That was thinking of that the whole time. I love that. I do that.
Starting point is 00:03:18 That moment is going to mean so much more when I watch Fury Road and she does that with her sister. They meet up again. And the line is the stars will align, right? Be with the stars? May the stars be with you? Yeah, something like that. Not may the force be with you?
Starting point is 00:03:32 Sad eyes, snapper, hungry eyes. Guys, everybody has a cool nickname. Warpup, lone war boy, bullet farmer, guardian of gas town. Oh, yeah, I remember him. He was great. Can't wait to see him as Lex Luthor. If you don't watch the show, The Great,
Starting point is 00:03:46 he is unbelievable on it. He's just such a good actor. El Fanning, Nicholas Holt, stellar. I love that show. I have a lot of stuff I need to look up. So you guys just enjoy yourself. Yeah, yeah. We'll talk. You do your thing. You look up all the actors that, uh, I start with the mom, because I know she was the first one.
Starting point is 00:04:05 I have a lot to do right now. I have a lot to do. All right, guys. So that was a freaking phenomenal movie. This goes at the top of my list of movies of 20, 24. Give me a break. I love the crap out of this movie. Don't forget to get your Sheejack nation gear. Well, I'll get all your reject gear, but this puppy right here. Thank you. get it get it get it before it gets too cold holy crap okay i can't say one bad thing about this movie the thing i appreciate the most is how smartly it was written how smart she is period from beginning to end it was an adventure we got the foundation that we needed to know that this is where furiosa comes from this is why she is so powerful and this is why like pain doesn't affect her in ways that a normal person would affect. She just has so much grit and determination
Starting point is 00:05:04 and obviously pain buried within her that you're like when you see her arm get torn off or terrible things happen to her. It's not like she's crying out like a normal, I guess anybody would do. It's just I love everything about this from the sound effects to the cinematography to the way they edit.
Starting point is 00:05:20 There are long shots of them choosing not to cut certain things. We saw that in Mad Max. We saw that here. I really don't have one bad thing to say about it. This movie was absolute adventure and I loved it. I agree with everything you just said. Before I even talk about this movie, Greg gave us a little, not warning, but just a little like...
Starting point is 00:05:40 Little talk before he was like... He just said, hey, guys, it's, you know, Fury Road is a very fast-paced action film. And this film, it's a little bit more of a slow burn at points. And there were a few minutes here and there were a slow burn. I completely disagreed with it. I didn't really feel that as much. I don't know what the slow burn is. There was, again, a few minutes here and there for, you know, with some dialogue scenes and all that.
Starting point is 00:06:05 But overall, I did not feel the slow burn. I thought this was paced beautifully and perfectly. We needed that slowness to get used to see the mom to see she's a sniper. She taught her well. For sure. And I think this film just did such a great job. Like, I really loved Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron, Theron. say that right? Yeah. In Fury Road, I think she was just such a three-dimensional character.
Starting point is 00:06:31 I did want to know a little more about her backstory, you know, where she came from and all of that. But having said that, I thought in the film, Fury Road, she was done so well. You know what I mean? We got that little moment with her sister and some dialogue that she spoke with Max, which I thought was enough there for that film. Because that film was more from Max's point of view. Yeah. Having said that, this film is freaking epic. It's awesome. It's everything that's awesome and epic about Fury Road. And then, and then, and some with this. And I appreciate that this adds so much more depth to the backstory of Furioso. You know, we get to find out where she comes from and all that. And it, I just really, again, I just, I love this character so much. She's so, she's so determined. She's so grief-stricken.
Starting point is 00:07:14 And again, we did hear that again through exposition in Fury Road, but actually having, you know, it's, it's, they always say what show don't tell. I understand why you had to do it in Fury Road. but I love the fact that George Miller, you know, actually wrote this out before he filmed Fury Road. They wrote this story out. And I think that was brilliant, you know, to have her backstory already in his mind before having that character because you can see there's, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:38 the level of depth in that character that we got in Fury Road, but actually shown here. It was already there. And by the way, I was really not expecting to see, like, the first half of the film with that young actress who did a fan. I want to give her her due. She did such a terrific job. I mean, she was really carrying the film.
Starting point is 00:07:54 the first half. And I thought obviously once Anya Taylor Joy got in the second half, she did a terrific job too. She, I mean, you got this very tough job. Hey, Charlize really owned that role first. So now you got this very difficult job of, it's not like a reboot or anything. So you've got to incorporate making your own while still, you know, paying homage and still keeping it a little bit like Charlize. And I thought there was a nice balance of both. And I thought she did a terrific job. And I'm going to talk more also about Chris Hemsworth, but I want to hear from Roxy. I thought this movie was perfect. Like, for the prequel that we needed, just straight up no notes.
Starting point is 00:08:33 And that's coming from somebody who's a lover, love ship, or ships, and there wasn't, like, a crazy love line. But it was a love letter to her mother and DPC. Like, we feel that stuff so heavy when it's, when somebody's taken from you. And the message of this film being, there is nothing you can do. to get them back. Right. You can kick and scream and cry. You can enact revenge or be pissed at people or blame or be angry or sad.
Starting point is 00:09:02 But the one thing you cannot do is get them back. And even in a world like this where things don't look like our world, we were dealing with a completely different landscape that's still at its heart. This is a story of revenge that ultimately ends in. She kills him, but she never gets her mother. F. and mom back. So I just think that that was a beautiful storytelling, makes you understand Furiosa so much more going into the next movie, what her current state is, what her mindset is, and why she is the way she is. I thought that was brilliant. Also, obviously, you guys know I became
Starting point is 00:09:39 absolutely obsessed. And I'm mad at you, Andrew, because you might not have seen this, but she was not a TV girl. She was a movie girl. And what I saw her in, the mother I'm speaking about is anyone but you. She plays the girlfriend when they go away. Did you see anyone but you? I don't think I have. Oh, that's the Glenn Powell, Sidney, one. The comedy that came out about rom-com, amazing. Did you see this? Okay, she plays the hot girlfriend. There you go. And she's a smoke show and how he didn't recognize her. And she's very talented. Shout out to Charlie Frazier. Also, the little girl the whole time, and I just didn't want to keep annoying the piss out of everybody, including myself. I was like, I know this little girl who's playing her. I know this little girl's
Starting point is 00:10:18 playing her. And she was the girl in nine perfect strangers. The TV show, she did seven episodes of that show. She's also booked like crazy. No surprise to us. Not at all. Alila Brown, A-L-Y-L-A.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Al-Y-L-L-A. I don't know actually how to say that name. Me neither. She was excellent in this. And she was also in the Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. Oh, I love that show. Children of the Corn. She's been in so much stuff already and she's going to be an absolute star so it was really that was really cool
Starting point is 00:10:53 also tom burke who none of us i just kept saying that he looks like stephen emal um but he was also in mank which was not my favorite oscar nominated movie but it was pretty decent and he was in 11 episodes of lazarus project uh i just love the crossover between tv and movies i also remember him in an episode of modern love and he did an episode of the crown so shout out to this cast the crowd it's a terrific cast yeah they absolutely crushed um and then i'll throw it back to you guys and if you want to come to me for trivia i will start looking go ahead and say your thoughts that you were gonna go yeah i just i thought chris hemsworth this is one of my favorite again he was a like you guys said he was an absolute POS um his character but his performance again this just showed me
Starting point is 00:11:37 i have not seen many i've really only honestly seen him in star track in the thor film oh oh i thought we had a scene there um i've only seen him in Star Trek and the Thor films, I have not really seen too many of his other films. So I can't really think of any films where I've seen him as a villain. And again, I totally understood his motivations. I obviously did not like and was not meant to like what he did to Furios' mother. Although I understood the point Roxy made that, you know, he was doing it for his people because they had nothing. I'm not standing up for him. I'm just saying, and I understood that. It's like how we get what Thanos is doing. Yeah. You know, you're like you're an evil mofo. Of course. You're just trying to
Starting point is 00:12:15 understand where he's coming from like is he just evil to do evil or like no this is where his mindset is that so i understood where his character's motivations but i just i love the delivery of his lines i love that accent that he had and uh just the provostom which he uh you know he performed uh and i just this was one of my favorite performances from him and it just showed me the versatility he has in the range he has as an actor because i just never could have seen him doing a role like this and when i saw that he was i mean again i didn't look at the cast before we uh film this, but I knew he was in the movie, just from the posters that I saw when the film was coming out. I just figured he was probably like an ally to Furio, so I had no idea, but I was not
Starting point is 00:12:57 expecting him to be the villain or one of the villains. And I mean, obviously, he's the main villain, but, you know, because Morton Joe is the villain in the next film. But I just thought he was brilliant and fantastic and just gets, you know, to the point where you just hate his guts so much. But also, too, there's that Chris Hemsworth charm at the same point. You're like, damn, I'm loving the performance he's giving while also I hate him. And those are my favorite type of villains. I also found it like, absolutely. We go to go to trivia here in just a sec. But I also found it really wild that they made the choice not to show us the guy, we can assume that he died,
Starting point is 00:13:34 but for them to make the choice not to actually show us fully that he was dead to give us like People who watch movies a lot. You're writing as though you're giving us a glimmer of hope. And I found that such an interesting choice. But overall, I think if you guys had seen the credits, they take forever. This movie, I mean, it's just from just shooting it to the cinematography to all of the stunts and the music and the way that it comes together. This takes so much time and so many people's energy. but that can also be
Starting point is 00:14:10 that you get a big budget and a lot of people together and the movie is shit and this movie did it absolutely freaking right and I think it's because the people at the top made all the right decisions
Starting point is 00:14:22 and it trickles down when you have a good person at the top you make a phenomenal film like this 10 out of 10 it's right I would go like a 9.9.2 at 10 and just really quickly before we get to trivia
Starting point is 00:14:33 You guys are killing me as such good stuff to do it real quick I want to hear it all I just really quickly, do you guys have any predictions for Oscars? I would say cinematography, editing, music by Tom Holcombberg, Junkie XL. Those are great ones. Anything else? I'm definitely going to go director in cinematography.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Would you say Chris Hemsworth? I don't think he's going to. I'm not sure about Chris or any of the other actors. No, I don't think so. But I think that Chris, honestly, even over Anya deserved the nomination for this one, even though Anya was great. Can I tell you guys some things? Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:15:03 Let's tell you guys. Everything. Okay, okay. I'm starting the one about love. love shippers chips. Okay, okay, okay, this is interesting. George Miller wanted the love between Furiosa and Jack to be more physically obvious, but Tom Burke successfully argued that it made more sense and would be more romantic for them to put any feelings they had on hold and to the side until they believed they were safe and on the way to freedom. I agree with that.
Starting point is 00:15:28 And do you remember at the fur, like you guys thought right away, there was romantic tension. I was like, I don't know, I feel like more of a mentor. So I think that was a wise choice because I was thrown off there at first. But I saw it anyway. I saw right through your choices. You're smarter than me. I saw right through it. Okay. The first thing was talking about what you were talking about, which is that
Starting point is 00:15:47 he'd already written a script completely beforehand. You told them that, so they already know. But that's the most liked trivia on here. This was filmed in New South Wales, Australia. All Mad Max movies have been filmed in Australia with the exception of Fury Road
Starting point is 00:16:03 when record rainfalls transform the form normally a ride, desert, is that how you say a ride, desert areas into lush green growth areas, Fury Road was filmed in Namibia. So that's interesting that this felt like that to me. I was going to say, yeah, they felt the same, yeah. So four out of five in the same place, cool. George Miller talked about this project soon after the release of Mad Max Fury Road, but it took him nine years to make him release it.
Starting point is 00:16:31 Development had stalled for several years due to the back-end compensation disputes between Miller and Warner Brothers over Fury Road, which were eventually settled. Yeah, because I didn't know the reasoning, but I do remember after Fury Road was released, like they kept talking about it and Charlese kept talking about it. I'm like, when is this freaking thing going to happen? I want it to happen already. And then it got announced like Anya was like, okay, she's a great actress. I'm like, I wanted to see Charlese.
Starting point is 00:16:56 And then when I watch this, I'm like, Anya was still a great choice. Yeah. Speaking of Anya, Anya Taylor Joy doesn't have a driver's license, despite learning to do a J-turn on her first day of stunt school. Yes, because that was the shot that you guys heard me yelling over because you can tell there are absolutely no cut. She backs up that car and she flips a bitch and she is still in frame, amazing shot.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Wait, how did you say it again? This said J-turn, we call it banging a Ui. Banging a Ui. Yep. Are you banging while you're also? I wish. We got to acknowledge with the best. We got to acknowledge in this video what the best line was by you.
Starting point is 00:17:36 Is she cutting off his dick? No, not is he? I think she said he's going to cut off his dick. I was so sure. Which came out of nowhere. I was like, I just thought like, that would work if he had like sexually abused her,
Starting point is 00:17:48 but like you were just like she's going to cut his dick off. I just heard the motor to the arm and the arm is going and it's metal. I heard she's down there at the buckle. And I'm just thinking beyond vengeance, cut off his. My favorite line is that Andrew's being a trivia genius and he says something to us. And then you said, mm-hmm. Oh, that was good too.
Starting point is 00:18:10 That was good too. Like you knew for a fact. And then you asked, did you actually know that? Definitely didn't know. That was just active listening. But you intuitively knew, like, did she actually know that? Yeah. That was good.
Starting point is 00:18:22 Right. I felt her on this. Andrew, this is to answer a question of yours from earlier. Though Charlize Theron was disappointed over being able to play Furiosa again herself. probably over not being able to she nonetheless voiced her approval for Anya Taylor Joy taking her place calling her
Starting point is 00:18:39 quote one of the greatest fucking actresses. She's not wrong I mean they're both one of the great two of the greatest but yeah Anya Taylor Joy wanted to shave her head like Charlize Theron did for Fury Road but her modeling contracts required her to keep her hair long furthermore
Starting point is 00:18:55 George Miller himself felt that Anya's hairstyle was far too iconic to shave it ultimately Furiosa cuts her hair during the latter part of the film. Yeah. What does he mean to her, Anya's hairstyle is too iconic to shave it? Long and stringy?
Starting point is 00:19:10 I don't mean Anya's hair looks like that, but like in the movie. Yeah, I don't know. All right, sure, sure. George Miller met with Anya Taylor Joy immediately after seeing her performance in the rough edit of last night in Soho. According to director Edgar Wright, Miller recounted the same story
Starting point is 00:19:25 of the Kermode and Mayo's film review podcast, remarking right at high praise for the actress. So right after he saw that, he must have thought she could do this. Good call. Oh, this is interesting.
Starting point is 00:19:38 George Miller hired ex-convicts as supporting artists for the film. Cool. This is the longest Mad Max film to date. Oh. It really, again, because of how it was paste, it didn't feel 220 or whatever it was. I think it was 230, but yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:55 It honestly felt like a 145 at most. I'm glad to hear this because we've heard a lot of crap about George. Miller's set sometimes and Chris Hemsworth said that he praised the movie's smooth production process. He said, I've never been on a set that felt both intimidating, loud, noisy, exhausting, and yet completely safe and in control. Awesome. I love to hear that because they did a lot of dangerous stunts in this. They're pushing people the limit in this film to get the great shot and to do that safely takes a lot of work and you have to have a lot of good people on your team. So I give a lot of the people who are on the stunt and the coordination with that, a lot of credit. Roxie.
Starting point is 00:20:32 Anything about the little kid, Revhead? I'm trying to look for it. Let me just try to Google. I'm surprised that one wasn't close to the top because I thought I remember seeing that on like Twitter or X or whatever the hell it's called now. Yeah. It's not loading quickly.
Starting point is 00:20:48 Well, we can, you guys can leave that in the comments for us. Leave that info that Andrew wants to know. He's an encyclopedia, so he might have a panic attack if you guys don't set him up with the juice. I think we... Okay, I found it. Oh, sorry, the, yes, he was bullied in a viral video, and then this happened. This is coming from Reddit, though, so I cannot confirm full source.
Starting point is 00:21:15 I trust Reddit. I'm sure the people let us. That's awesome if they're choosing to add him in this movie. I thought he did a good job, too. That's a real, like, F you, to all the people who made fun of him and all of these mean trolls out there are sitting at home watching him in a bad-ass movie. Payback is a bitch. Taking it straight to the bank, I'm sure.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Exactly. I would have loved to have seen those piece of shit's faces when they saw him on the big screen. Yeah. Suck it. You got him there. This movie is a 10 out of 10. I freaking loved it. I think all around, we all loved it.
Starting point is 00:21:53 Leave your comments. Tell us how much you loved it or even if you didn't like it. If you didn't like, I'm going to tell you right now, get out. Seriously. Get out. Close the door. Lock it behind you. I don't want to see you. This movie is phenomenal. I love it. Do we have any last words before we tell the people goodbye? It was fantastic and it makes me want to rewatch Fury Road like right away. I think it's a perfect like setup for Fury Road while also being its own thing and with the backstory of Furiosa. It was a wonderfully crafted film. George Miller. Amazing job. Agreed. Got any last words for the peeps? You guys liked us as a trio. Let us know so we can do some more stuff together. We would like. love to. We love you guys. Thanks for joining us and we will see you on the next one.
