Starting point is 00:00:00 What up Citizens of the Reject Nation. I'm Greg, if this is your first time here. This is Paige. Hi. And today, what movie are we watching? Fury! Fury! A super serious war movie, and I've been wrecking my brain. I really don't know if this is something I've seen in the past or not. Regardless, I can't tell you what goes on in it. I definitely am not. Yeah, I know you. All I know is Shia LaBuff tends to talk about this experience. John Burrithel does. Like actors tend to bring up this movie. Okay. And I never get a good visual of what they're talking about. But supposedly it's a pretty good movie. Okay. Do you like war movies?
Starting point is 00:00:35 Have you seen a war movie together here? No, but we did watch World War I just see with our boy Brad together. We like War and Brad Pitt. Yeah. That's what we do together. That was a zombie type war, but yeah. I imagine this is just as fun and silly as that. All right, guys.
Starting point is 00:00:52 Well, leave a like on the video. Leave your thoughts down below and what you think of the movie, Fury. And let's swing into action, people. Let's watch this. All right, ladies and gentlemen, well, we just watched Fury. Of course, you can get the full reaction over our Patreon page. Thank you to all who have been joining and supporting the channel as we consistently fight. Just by nature of what we do.
Starting point is 00:01:15 A lot of copyrights at all times, like every reaction channel. So go ahead. Support us. We got a lot of fight left in us. Much like these gentlemen. Just like these war heroes. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:26 We are just like soldiers. We are. the same. While I hear, please leave a like, subscribe, and let's talk about Fury. So what expectations at all did you have going into this, if any, and how do you feel now that it's done? I didn't have a whole lot of expectations, except for that I knew it was a World War II movie, and I knew it was Brad Pitt.
Starting point is 00:01:50 I thought we were going to have a little more fun killing Nazis, which we did. That's a different Brad Pitt War II movie. Yeah, I think I'm getting them confused. maybe the other more fun one. I mean, this was incredibly, honestly, incredibly pace to me. It felt pretty like we were moving through time pretty quickly with them. Of course, my attachment to Norman is so strong. I can do nothing but boy mom and think about my son.
Starting point is 00:02:19 He's just so young in this. Obviously losing all of his innocence in the first 10 minutes. But I think what kind of. surprised me honestly was Brad Pitt's more complex character. Yeah. Because I don't know if I liked him or if I didn't. Um, he definitely, I mean, it was a, Logan Lorman was a fantastic performance to me also. He was really, really great. I mean, everybody was great. Um, but he and Brad Pitt, of course, are the stands out, stand out performances in my opinion. Um, wow, really. Yeah. And I, I mean, I just feel like we got we got a lot of layers to Brad Pitt and I appreciate that even just coming at the end and learning that he did actually have all this religious knowledge all along.
Starting point is 00:03:09 Because before it was kind of like abusive dad, but also trying to prepare him and keep, you know, Norman alive through all of this in some really terrible and traumatic ways. But I understood the motivation. Yeah. So, yeah, I think I was. really, I'm more surprised by my reaction to war daddy than Norman. Yeah, that's true. I mean, he's a very complex character because like this whole tank family, it feels like a dysfunctional family.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Totally. And I like the trajectory of him revealing that he knows these Bible verses and such, because it gives you, there's a lot of indications of who he might have been before the war, like what he's trying to live out a little bit with that family. the German family in that moment. And the theme of the film really seems to be how much of your humanity must you sacrifice in order to survive. We watch that with pretty much every character here.
Starting point is 00:04:13 I think like when they tell the stories and you get these little shades, like even when John Bernthals, Grady is in the barn with Logan Lerman and tells him like, you're a good kid and all that. Like there's a bit of a, I like the human, human. that these guys represent because there must be some type of like this triggering reminder of who they used to be so they kind of dog pile on Norman a little bit, you know, because I know Norman has to change in order to survive, but he also represents something that they used to, they used to be in before any of this happened. So I liked how this movie really commits to how not
Starting point is 00:04:53 romantic World War II is. Yeah. You know, I know it's a weird statement, but you know, it's a movies make World War II like really cool. Well, yeah, that it's just like, we're killing Nazis and they're the bad guys and it's that black and white and simple. And this was definitely not. Like, Fury might be the name of the tank, but it really does feel like the underlying theme and the belly of so much of the, like, how ugly all this is. But yeah, I like the, I like the twisted father son dynamic and with them.
Starting point is 00:05:23 But also like kind of the whole family. I like how the tank itself feels like a character in the film. and I thought everyone was just so damn good in this movie. And it's like, yes, the battles, kudos to the directing and the editing. I don't know how you like compose all those. It can be very easy to make a tank battle boring. Yeah. Like I said the speed at which sometimes, but the intensity, even in the one tank battle scene,
Starting point is 00:05:50 was just the few of them. They had to get so close together still. Yeah. Choreographing that cannot be. And I really liked how, like, ugly, they let their personalities actually devoid into, you know, like they didn't glorify what a soldier might actually become in a situation like this. As we see in that one town and a lot of, like, the really ugly undertones and, like, the confusing nature of what happened in that scene with that Emma girl. Right. And what people do to survive.
Starting point is 00:06:23 Yeah. Because, you know, they're placed in a prisoner situation. and while the movie frames it as initially it's like you're looking at it from oh to him at least and even the way she's behaving the movie kind of paints it like it could be a mutual consent but how mutual is it when you're really positioned in an extreme authority you know but i will say i didn't i get what you're saying in that that the way that the picture was painted the one thing that was really hard for me about that was when they were leaving and she was like buttoning up his coat for him. That one felt a little bit too. I'm okay with painting a picture and maybe leaving it to like maybe she did have some kind of soft spot for him. But I don't know if I would exactly be like buttoning his coat up and like sad to see him go after such a quick interaction where I may or maybe was not assaulted. I mean, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Absolutely. Like that's, I, I feel like it's, it's very, very complicated and it's really easy to just walk out of that. Because if someone, if you just walk out with a blank statement that like, yes, it was sexual assault. I'm like, I actually wouldn't fault you for that thought. Right. Yeah. I'm also like, I agree with you. But what I appreciated about how they handled it was that it wasn't just like a outright, the ugliness. of it that there's a protest scene that we had to live through basically yeah there's like a weird
Starting point is 00:07:56 perception of sorts happening which feels more human to me totally yeah it's weird to say i appreciate a scene like that yeah but it because it's complicated yeah it is and war is complicated all of these situations are complicated nothing there was no easy scene in this film right that's the whole point of the movie is is demonstrating the complications of this like they have the whole thing with faith laced throughout this entire experience. And if anything about being a Christian, you don't want to, like, committing violence and all that is not good. You know, like all this seems so anti-Christian, right?
Starting point is 00:08:33 Or anti-Cat, whatever denomination. It seems so anti, even though some people will be like, no, God wants you to be called to war. I'm like, but they believe they're called to war, but did God really go? So it'll be over the counter. Who did God call? It's like, you knew it in the name of it, right?
Starting point is 00:08:47 And so I like the complexity of, this feels like a humanity deconstruction in a way of like who you become more so and how none of it is black and white even if it feels black and white. So yeah, I thought it was like a pretty powerful movie. Yeah, I agree.
Starting point is 00:09:06 I also like you kind of pose that question early on too. Do you come out of this having more faith or less faith? Yeah. And I thought about that question through this movie a lot. And I flip flopped throughout it myself personally. Because you do see the scenes of, of people in their very last breaths and Shilobov's character
Starting point is 00:09:24 going to them and and offering some kind of comfort whether you know, you are religious or not, you have to, again, see a deeper side in humanity in that. Yeah, that's exactly it. When you are, I can imagine that there's something like this
Starting point is 00:09:40 makes you not believe in a God, but when you're about, when you're about to die, you're like, I fucking hope there's God. Right. Yeah. Like something might have like, click come out of you, you know,
Starting point is 00:09:50 in a moment like, that hoping that maybe there's something after this when yeah it's as i because there's there's a bit of like the movie has an obsession movies that kind of obsessed with like uh what happens when you corrupt innocence dehumanization it was a very i thought was very poignant movie and uh yeah but we have some questions for our patrons oh so like the atmosphere a lot i'll shout that out atmosphere i like how like smoky and muddy yeah yeah and it just it never felt never felt pretty it was it was committed to being unbelievably sad. Unbelievably uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:10:22 Like, I never felt comfortable. I never feel like I stopped kind of clenching my body through most of the movie. Out of all the actors, the one who would kind of look, you know, still look Hollywood pretty from time to time was Brad Pitt. Yeah, of course. But everyone else.
Starting point is 00:10:36 Well, Logan's baby blues. I mean, that's a movie star right there too, right? Yeah, I heard that. John was pretty nasty. They were. I like the actors and they commit to like,
Starting point is 00:10:45 oh, I feel like you smell. Was there somebody who stood out for? you? Yeah, yeah. I feel like, actually was John Berndtel and Shia LaBuff. Really? Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:54 But I feel like some of our questions about being that one. Oh, yeah. So I want to reserve. So we don't just repeat on themselves here. But no, thank you guys for watching with us. And generally, we give our patrons access to our shooting schedules. So they get to ask questions and participate in our reviews. And they get shoutouts as well.
Starting point is 00:11:11 Guys, I take electrolytes every single day. Sponsorship or not? Because if I just spend an hour sweating my butt talks off, I don't only want to replace the water I lost. I want to replace what went out with it. Sometimes I'll even take electrolytes before I work out, if I wake up feeling a little dried out or off, and after I work out, every single time.
Starting point is 00:11:30 So what makes element pronounce element? Don't be confused by the element, element, different from the million of other hydration products. For me, it's actually what I'm getting. You see, like one stick over here has a thousand milligrams of sodium, 200 milligrams of potassium, and 60 milligrams of magnesium. with zero sugar and no artificial colors.
Starting point is 00:11:50 And that sodium amount is a big reason why elements stood out to me. I don't want my electrolyte drink to basically just be flavored water. And I don't need a bunch of sugar added when what I'm looking for is hydration and electrolytes. No sugar added, baby. And this isn't exclusively gym bro stuff either. Maybe you sweat a lot. Maybe you work outside. You're in the heat.
Starting point is 00:12:08 You use a sauna. You're fasting. You're eating low carb. There are plenty of ways you're losing fluids besides lifting weights or doing cardio. The why is simple. If you're losing water and electrolytes, replace both. You can go to drink element.com slash rejects. And with any purchase, you'll get a free A-count sample pack of their most popular flavors.
Starting point is 00:12:29 Try them, figure out what you actually like. And if Element isn't for you, they've got a no-questions-ask refund policy. I'm telling you, Element is, dare I say it, a game changer. Why don't you read the first question for us? Hi, Jaden Rhodes. Hey, Jaden. My main memory of this movie is the crazy stuff I heard about Shai LeBuff and how he got into character by cutting his cheek, pulling his tooth. I noticed he was missing a tooth and even getting into fights with people on set.
Starting point is 00:12:58 I am curious if y'all heard those stories and what do y'all think of him as an actor? I think I heard he never showered. Really? I'm pretty sure I heard he never showered. Wild. He was like super, super committed. I noticed that there was a missing. tooth and I was like, oh, they must have blacked it out.
Starting point is 00:13:17 Yeah. And he apparently took that one upon himself. Listen, I don't know a whole lot of Shailabuff's personal life. I know he got in trouble in New Orleans recently for fighting. Yeah. He's a bit of a fighter. I don't condone violence. I don't like fighting, but I do think he's a really great actor.
Starting point is 00:13:35 Yeah. I mean, I cannot think of anything where he fell flat for me. I've always really enjoyed him. me me too like he's he's phenomenal in this movie he's very very real and believe and i and nor did i feel like when the camera was on him that he was doing like a like a look at me performance right i felt like he was actually with the cast the like humble christian guy kind of yeah which which is a stretch from a lot of characters we've seen for him normally when i hear about an actor going to this length it is like look at me look at me and i never really got that sense i've i
Starting point is 00:14:12 felt like he was he was still supporting the actors around him and i like that there was a strange kind of tenderness that he brought to the character absolutely and it helps offset a lot of kind of the the aggressiveness like when you take like a john berthal which is very like aggressive and abrasive and animalistic i'm gonna make a man out of you kind of thing yeah yeah so i I like the nuance that he brought with it. Keanu Chanel. Hi, hello. Hi, hello to you.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Hi, hello. I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far. What was ruined by this mood I'm in right now. Furious. One of my favorite war movies. The cast is fantastic and they interact so well with each other. What's the best job you've ever had? Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:15:00 And what's an incredible or harsh reality lesson to taught you? Oh, fascinating. The way Logan Lerman's character finally gave into it after the apartment building with the girl was Bob Well Wow Well okay I mean
Starting point is 00:15:14 I guess she's asking Some personal question Yeah I mean I've had some interesting jobs Had some very fun jobs This definitely being one of them Probably the most fun I love my job
Starting point is 00:15:26 I try to do a far noise Thanks employee I don't I don't know What I've learned I don't know if it's had If it's taught me any harsh realities Really No
Starting point is 00:15:36 The internet can be mean? Yeah, well, yeah, you know I don't look at that. Um, what's the best job you ever had, Greg? I mean, I would say this, oh, what, but you know, it's, it's, but I own it. So I want to call it a job. Oh, best job. But I bet you've learned, I bet you've had some harsh realities from this and probably
Starting point is 00:16:00 some, mainly harsh realities. Primarily harsh realities. harsh realities of running your own thing and having people you work with and learning how to mix friends with business. There's been a lot of harsh realities of like, okay, some things don't blend so well and some things can be disrupted. And, oh, you do seek validation from strangers. You don't know. And oh, shit, you got to work on that. And so, yeah, there's a like a lot of, I've barely scratched the surface of the harsh realities I've learned.
Starting point is 00:16:33 But yeah, no, I would say, I mean, definitely. this is the best job. Ever since I got to start making a living, talking about movies in any capacity, it's pretty freaking cool. Pretty best job I can never ask for. Yeah. Anyway,
Starting point is 00:16:46 was Logan Limer's character finally gave it to after the apartment building what the girl was bombed? Was that a question? Finally gave into it after the apartment building was bombed. Well, yeah, he was in love with her,
Starting point is 00:16:56 madly in love with her. It was a love of his life. Yeah. He wanted a writer. They had the only life line together. Yeah. Yeah, I don't understand that question fully. either.
Starting point is 00:17:06 Read this guy. Pinguis? Hi, Pengis. Did I clap? Did you clap? Somebody clap. How's it going? My question is, was such a great ensemble cast, did any performance stand out for you?
Starting point is 00:17:21 Performance aside, who was your favorite character in the bunch? Honestly, I think Logan Lerman was really good. I just, maybe I'm just favoring with this, like, young man who I know was going to have. the biggest change and all of that. But I think his performance was really, and that might also be because of this cast, I think I've only seen him in one other thing. So I was impressed with him.
Starting point is 00:17:48 Yeah. My favorite character, probably the Bible guy. Yeah. It was like you said, it was just a nice, like a break from all the misogynistic stuff to have. of a Bible man there, you know? Yeah. The only one who would have participated.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Because Bible. Yeah. Because Bible. Because Bible won't let you participate. That's true. Well, any performance stand out. I mean, I did highlight Childabuff and John Bernthal quite extensively earlier. I will say Brad Pitt is a phenomenal lead. Yeah, we know that. Like you always. The way he. Yeah. But this is more than just like relying on.
Starting point is 00:18:36 I feel like sometimes you watch a Brad Pitt lead. And it's, yeah, charisma actor Brad Pitt. And this, I think this is that time we're like, he's playing a real character right now. Yeah. And this is a case of showing how he can really play a three-dimensional character and give so much rich context and history and have such an intrigue as to who he is and how you peel back certain layers throughout the film and how, and like the first half of the movie, he's kind of, it's kind of scary. Yeah. But there's also that feeling like, but. I feel kind of safe when he's around.
Starting point is 00:19:08 Right. And you also understand why everyone would follow him in a battle. And you're like, you need a leader like this guy. But you also see some softness. Like I like, I like how fleshed out his character was. But he also plays it rather understated.
Starting point is 00:19:21 So it's not as like big as Shia LeBuff or John Bernthal, you know. I will say, since we've talked a lot about characters who did were awesome, I like, I think Michael Pena was just as real as everyone. But I do feel like he was the one who was the most. underserved. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Like, he has the good horse monologue, like, explaining that. And he's Mexican. I know, but I was like, is he the minority role there? Because we didn't get any real history on him as a person. You're right. He wasn't as depicted in a more clear, like the way you can pinpoint everyone else's personality. Right.
Starting point is 00:20:00 He was the one. I'm like, yeah, he kind of just kind of blaine blends in. Yeah. Are you allowed to say brown? Yeah. Well, I'm saying that the cast was like the minority cast. They gave them the few lines in Spanish, you know, like, I'm not saying I agree with it. I'm just saying I would like to know more about people should clip that out. And you could against page at a time of crisis when she's like, brown one.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Brown one. Just cut to Brown one. Stop. Greg. Stop. I can't take it. I'm going to hit up my Latino wife right now I'm not going to believe what Paige said You know I'm from the South I have very serious I have very serious white guilt Stop I'll never say it again
Starting point is 00:20:48 Yeah you be careful now page You be careful now For the daughter CRE knows if you're in the tank Which three people of the Reactverse Would you trust to be your co-tank mates Oh shit React verse meaning
Starting point is 00:21:04 People are here on our channel or their whole react. I think it's just keep it a real rejects. Okay. I think that's more fun. Okay. I think Tara would panic. I think Patriot shout racist insults as we can see, which would just get us caught.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Can't control her. I've played a video game with Jackie. She's way too out of control, way too much anxiety. Yeah. She's a little jumpy, that one. Yeah. I think Andrew wouldn't like get in the fight, but he would be good at assessing. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:21:35 Andrew. I feel like Andrew could. be good at fixing things too he might be our mechanic kind of one yeah coy's got muscles and strength so you could use that um who else is here and uh she's not a she's not one of the real rejects uh in terms of on camera bob but a Alex she would definitely be the one who keeps us alive um i think Aaron wouldn't uh harm a fly in real life so he'd be very useless and he'd be like let me understand whether there's two sides to every story like we don't got time for that John's way too low.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Jump jumps at everything. You know, freaks out. No, I can't have that. I think John could fix stuff, though, too. Yeah, he was just take all day. Yeah. We got all day to be here.
Starting point is 00:22:21 Why not? The tank's just sitting in the middle of the road. That's what happened. He'd eventually get a text at three in the morning that he fixed the tank. You're getting personal here, Greg. You're getting personal. He knows it. He knows it.
Starting point is 00:22:35 He knows it. That's what you said. to John. Last one. Wait, you don't want to know who my three were? Oh yeah. You just assumed? You just assumed it was you, huh?
Starting point is 00:22:44 Oh, am I in your tank crew? No, you're not. I'm not in the tanker. I'm taking Alex for sure. Okay. She runs my entire life. Roxy because she's fearless and probably coy. Roxy would probably be.
Starting point is 00:22:56 Actually, if I had to swap out Alex, I would go with Roxy. I want Roxy. I want Roxy and Alex. Actually, I would keep out Koy. You would keep out Koi? I feel like I would take Koi because he, It feels strong and fast. I feel like he's fast and he's just got a lot of the knowledge.
Starting point is 00:23:11 I feel like he's mainly muscles, but not confrontational. I think he looks. I think he likes to look like he's confrontational. But have you ever seen him actually be confrontational? I've not actually fight anyone, no. Have you ever seen him really like actually confront someone about anything to their face? But I don't think I've seen any of us confront someone.
Starting point is 00:23:32 I mean, I've had to learn to confront because of what I do. So I can confront. So I could be like, hey, Nazi. All right. Maybe I'll take you over quite. You're offending my team's feelings. You're going to have to audition for my tank crew. But I'm definitely got Alex and Roxy.
Starting point is 00:23:49 Yeah. I forgot about Roxy. Shit. Are you serious? Oh, shit. Now, Roxy would be good. It would be good. Last one.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Take it away. Is that me? Snacks. Hey, Snacks. Hi, Greg and Paige. In your opinion, which actor had the best performance for? For me, it was Shil of Buff, as I'm not used to seeing him in such a serious role. I agree.
Starting point is 00:24:10 I mean, I'm used to seeing him in a serious role, but I feel like there was even a moment at the beginning where they were kind of bullying him a little bit for, like, being the Christian. And I was like, that's not where we usually see him at all, you know. True, true. Yeah, I think we went over. I don't know who would be like the best. You have to pick one. Gun to your head. If I had to pick one.
Starting point is 00:24:32 Yep. I would say I would I would give it to I would give it to I'll give it to I'll give it to um
Starting point is 00:24:41 I give it to Bernthal yeah personally yeah okay it's really hard I think he just grossed me out too much I could but it's hard to make a character
Starting point is 00:24:52 gross you out and feel like I never want to be in the same room as this guy but also kind of like him yeah I mean you know it's something that I realized
Starting point is 00:25:02 in the ending moments too is like that I probably would have grieved and connected with that character a little bit more but they all had to die so quickly and we kind of had to move on as I'm sure is very real in wartime you know but there was not a lot of just being able to even sit with
