Starting point is 00:00:00 Okay, let's get to our show, GOT. Wow, great two episodes. Great, great, great. If you're listening to us an Apple or Spotify, give us a five-star rating. If you're on the YouTube, like, comment, subscribe when you do. Ring the bell. Thank you to prep for helping out it down the highlight. Super appreciate you.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Also, if you're out on Patreon, that's where you can get 15% off. I'll reject nascent. I'm not yet. I think the limited edition of the pink and the red of the reject sweater is still there for like a week more so you can snag that but there's a bunch of yeah all the things go get it okay so Andrew how you feel about those two episodes?
Starting point is 00:00:45 Feeling good Paula Tara on the RagePod by the way yeah the two episodes are incredible there's so many different storylines as per usual so the fact that they have to just keep segueing between so many different ones but I'm so into every single one so good The one that has me just so upset and I just can't wait, besides Ramsey, obviously, is the high sparrow. Like, I understand perspective where he's coming from.
Starting point is 00:01:10 And I'm fine with him living that in his own, you know, viewpoint. But, like, I just don't like that he's forcing that upon others. That's what I, like, in that kind of a way. And that's, that's the thing that's really upsetting me the most. But, you know, I understand where he's coming from and what he's saying and that he vehemently. believes in that, and I think it's great writing. I just, like I said, I don't like it when you're forcing others on your viewpoint in a physical manner and also just in general and lifestyle.
Starting point is 00:01:40 But I think it's great writing from a character's perspective and a villain's perspective as well. And I think Jonathan Price, I believe that actor's name is, plays the High Sparrow. He's doing a great job. Yeah. And then I love the way, I didn't know. Yeah, what was your favorite? There's so many to pick out because, like, Tyrion, how white.
Starting point is 00:02:00 he is is such a difficult and tumultuous situation because everyone is at such odds and he's really thrust upon such a it's such a new thing for him not new being like wise and like having to be resourceful in in a situation but he's literally never this is his first time in marine and so having having to like get everyone to be on the same like um uh like not be at odds with each other same level neutral ground but he's so savvy and so smart. I love, I love Tyrion so much and how witty he is. So that's one of my favorite ones, but I think my favorite moment, though, between the two episodes, it had to have been John and Sonsa reunited. I know. That was, me too. That was just like, because they have not been together. None of the
Starting point is 00:02:49 Yeah, that was wild. None of the Starks really have been together. No, they haven't. That's our first season one. Yeah, since season one, like, because I mean, Rekon and Brian were slightly together for a little bit, other than that, it's really been, you know, I have a lot more I want to say, but what did you think of the two episodes? Oh, I loved it. I mean, obviously, favorite, you know, at the end, seeing Colisee come out of those flames. I needed that vengeance because we've just, it's just kill, kill, kill. And Ramsey is such a freaking prick. And he just, um, I forget her name, but I loved her. Thank you. Uh, it just pisses me off. And I now, because here's what I think is the best writing is how well they have built.
Starting point is 00:03:30 up Ramsey for us to hate him. So, I mean, it just keeps getting worse. So when we get that letter and it's sent to John Snow and Sonsa is there and she looks at him and she's like, we have to do this. And he shakes and said, yes, you're like hell to the fuck. Yes. We have to do it. Yeah. I got to tell you this show, I never keep thinking there's going to be someone I'm going to hate more than the last, like real true villain, like a Joffrey or an Alist or someone like that. They keep proving me wrong. And then also at the same point. But Ramsey, right in front of you.
Starting point is 00:04:03 It's Ramsey. He's like the one I hate the most. And also like Walter Frey hate him so much too. Like we, I hope we get back to taking him out at some point. But also, too, the show has done such a great job of redemption as well with certain characters, whether it's like Jamie or someone like that. And even for slight moments where I'm like, I'm on slightly the side of like a Cersy for a moment or two.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Like when it comes to the high sparrow, even though she kind of brought him into the fold, which I get. But yeah, the show does a pretty good job of, and even like Melisandra, like that's a character I couldn't stand at first. And there's times like I understand,
Starting point is 00:04:42 like she does things to serve her need and all that and like for the light God. But I appreciate her character a lot right now. I mean, she did bring John Snow back. And I'm curious to see where we go as well with Davos and when he finds out the truth of what Stanis rather did to his daughter.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Like, is that going to shatter his worldview little? Because we've already seen what's been going on with John Snow when his kind of worldview has been shattered. Like, I did everything I was supposed to do. I served the night watch. And they, they killed me for it. So, but now, like, I think a little bit of vindication now that his sister's come back and he has to, like, he's got to take back Winterfeld.
Starting point is 00:05:21 They've got his brother. So I'm excited. There's so many things like that are looming that I'm so excited for right now. So and Aria, too, the development that we, the slow burn we have gotten with Aria throughout all the seasons. Forget like even just with the faceless God stuff, just throughout everything. It's been really slow burn and I've loved it. Like she is really, they are truly turning her into such a badass. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:48 And I think it's very exciting to see, you know, Peter Baylish is obviously in charge of like the veil now. And, you know, when he says he obviously has all control of Robin is that Peter. you know and being 30 steps ahead i'm really glad that he is now going to help santa right and so now we do i'm like yeah but we what about robin like how much of an army does he have i don't remember the numbers but we have to kill rambi like i need that vengeance again and again and again because it makes me feel but also i feel i'm just like rickin you know he's a lot older now and i just i don't want to see I just I won't be able to handle seeing him hurt by Ramsey if Ramsey does some like weird ass shit I can't be doing that so I'm just thinking like that maybe Brand will be able to see
Starting point is 00:06:40 where Rickin is at in the weird tree with the old guy like I don't you that was so good all that that was all really really great I'm just like this all needs to come together yeah to where we have the starks back at Winterfell and all as well again although I know we wouldn't have as much drama. But I really hope now that in John and Sonsa, now being in Castle Black and the Knights Watch and the Wildlings and the Lord of the Vale, if we all come together, I feel like we could beat him. So it's kind of all getting there.
Starting point is 00:07:19 But I don't know that DeNaris, because she really, honestly, I'm like, I think DeNaris does, like put her on the throat. because I trust her. But I would, I would assume, though, that because we've seen in the throwbacks of Brand, right, he's looking at his dad with the Targaryans where I'm like, there could be maybe a pack there. There could have been, could have been. I know we fought and like Ned did, he said he killed a guy, but he obviously didn't. So that was a weird, that was a weird look into, into Ned.
Starting point is 00:07:54 but and I'm not sure how that's going to come back later on but I love these two episodes I thought the one the episode three was a little slower than we'd been used to we really only got that battle fight in the beginning but it gave us the foundation more of a story sure right and then and four really really took off okay we only got a couple questions here there's one from Tara it says were you surprised that John was brought back do you feel like he did the right thing to those who stabbed him and are you concerned that he might not be the same. I mean, I kind of mentioned a couple times, and I'm always being transparent with you guys. I read no spoilers. I was not surprised just because we saw the stuff that Melisandra could do. So I wasn't like, it wasn't that shocking, but I was more happy because I love John so much. But do I feel that he did the right thing to those who stabbed him? I felt the worse for Ali because he had been so consumed with revenge and vengeance.
Starting point is 00:08:58 And I understand why he would feel the need to take out John because he would never, why would he want to make friends with wildlings? They are the ones who took out in such a savage way as they would say, his parents. So it was the last people he'd ever want to make, you know, be friendly with. So I get why. And John was mentoring him. And of course, like, you know, that was a literal, like, an actual stab to the heart for him,
Starting point is 00:09:22 or not an actual, but you know what I mean. It was a stab to the heart for him for the man who's mentoring him. Yeah. So I think he had to do that, unfortunately, even though he didn't want to. Right. Because you're said, if you don't do that, you're setting an example that it's okay to betray the Nightwatch
Starting point is 00:09:37 or the commander of the Nightwatch if you don't do that. Correct. So I think I'm concerned that he be, I do not think that he will ever be the same, obviously. And I just, I mean, it's just, it's obvious that when you, when you take it to that step, but the thing that shows, I think, his leadership more is that he's like, if I'm going to do this, I'm now walking away from this forever. Because him is a leader, he doesn't want that to continue to happen. That's why he handed over his jacket. He's like, I give you, I give you command. And he starts to walk away, but then, you know, Sonsa arrives. So I think that says a lot about him as a leader. Yeah, and also too, imagine how much that like shatters your worldview, you, your entire, well, however many years he's been fighting this battle and you do this for so long, and it's your brothers in arms and they literally stab you in the heart for doing what was, I understand that they have this code of not allowing wildlings in, but, you know, they're about to fight the, the, what are the White Walkers? The White Walkers. Thank you. They're about, like the White Walker's about to come and then the wild, it was.
Starting point is 00:10:49 was the right thing to to make peace with them and to do. So he's just, all John Snow is about is, I mean, he didn't even want to be the Lord's commander, first of all. And all he John is about is doing the right thing and he got stabbed in the heart for it. So, I mean, of course, he would never be the same from that type of thing. And you even saw he made a joke, you know, having a sense of humor. So you saw right away, he's definitely not the same. Exactly. Not the same at all. Jaden Rhodes says watching Sonson John Reign. It was amazing. It'll never not make me happy to see them give each other a big hub. I'm curious if you all have the same reaction to that scene.
Starting point is 00:11:24 It's one of the best scenes. I mean, Tara said herself, she had goosebumps. It's one of the most heartfelt scenes in the entire series. I mean, it's so good. At this point, I don't know how many years, but for us, if I would assume it's one year gap each season. Yeah. So if you're a viewer. If not more.
Starting point is 00:11:41 Sometimes it was like two because the show took like so much to make. Oh, okay. So five, six years or whatever since these. I felt like. Yeah. And I mean, the Starks are really, I know it's truly an ensemble show.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Of course, there's so many different storylines, but I feel like the Starks are really at the center of the story of the show. And the fact that they had not reunited, like most of the family has not seen each other in this long.
Starting point is 00:12:05 It's been such an epic journey, honestly, like to get to that point. And we've been wanting it for so long. We have. We have. I can imagine so many other fans of the show have probably wanted any semblance
Starting point is 00:12:16 of the family to reunite, whether it's Rakan. and Brand or And we forgot to talk about Aria's sight coming back. Yeah, yeah. No, that was. Which you're saying if they reunited with Aria, at least now she's not blind.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Yeah, but also too, I'm curious as well. Like now that Aria, like she doesn't view herself anymore as Aria, she views herself as no one, right? Because she's with the faceless God and all that. So if she does reunite with her family, which hopefully does happen because nobody is ever safe on this show, how is she going to interact? act with her family now that she views herself as no one or nobody.
Starting point is 00:12:52 So I'm interested to see how that interaction would go. Like, is her family even going to, yes, so recognize her from a face perspective, right? But are they going to, personality wise, are they going to recognize her anymore? She's kind of not the same anymore. They'll recognize that she's a badass fighter. Because we've seen her. That for sure. We've seen her.
Starting point is 00:13:11 I think that that would be the only way that I think having six, seven, however many years it's been gone by that you now see aria and you're like, oh, yeah, okay, that is, that is my same aria only because she has ended up exactly where she's always wanted to be, which she was a girl who always wanted to fight and like she just was trying to try. And now she's in the place where I think like she belongs. She probably feels that way too. It took a, it was a weird way to get there. It really was, which I'm sure she wasn't expecting, neither were we. Um, so. So yeah, that'll be interesting to see if she's like a girl has no name. But they're like, they're like, bitch, we know who you are.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Your name is Aria. We'll have to see. I wonder if that's kind of almost snap her out of the. I mean, I don't know if you would call it a trance, but she's like so locked in and focused on this kind of mission. I don't think she's like in it so hard. But maybe you can like once you don't have a name, right, you still know who you are. So I feel like it wouldn't go against her everything if she was like, I'm glad to see you, love you too, but I'm also still a girl who has no name.
Starting point is 00:14:26 I think the two can coincide, but we'll have to see. Do you have any last thoughts? No. Two great episodes. That fourth one might have been my favorite of the season, although I'm still really upset about OSHA. I just, I can't wait to see eventually. I don't know if it's this season, next season or season eight. I just want Ramsey to die such a bad, awful, tortuous way.
Starting point is 00:14:49 I'm with you. I can't wait. Yeah. Great episodes, though. I, I, God, I just really hope it's a painful death. It has to be painful. If it's too quick and not painful, I won't feel as much joy as I felt at the end of this episode with all those guys being like, here's all what we're going to do to you.
Starting point is 00:15:10 And I'm like, let them all burn. That makes you feel so good. Mm-hmm. Totally. Yeah, that would be great. I would love that for her. All right, guys, we love you. Be nice, be cool, be kind. We'll see you on the next one.
