Starting point is 00:01:57 leave a comment subscribe when you do ring the bell ring the bell thank you to prep for helping edit down these highlights wouldn't be here without them yeah so this these episodes were great i mean we we started off of the bang but i love that we started off with tyrian because he's my favorite um and i love that when they show us in the battle with him that you're like oh everyone calls him the imp a dwarf like all all of these things and they have like zero respect for him unless they get to know him then they're like oh we get it um but then he he saves cat and he freaking murders that guy and you're like oh Tyrion is not just this smart guy who drinks and whores around like he's actually got some talent here which is great um and i'm a little i i like
Starting point is 00:02:57 seeing um aria tell her dad that what she saw and she's like you're going to be murdered like arya's a quick enough smart girl um so i like that but i'm a little concerned uh still about ned the fact that robber barathian is like you're going to stay here put that back on and now he's playing king he has tie when to come there that's the lannister the lannister already put a thing in his freaking leg like everybody wants them dead and i'm i'm honestly worried about the starks cat is safe because she's with her sister at the veil but uh i don't know man but i really i really really like this episode a lot's going on but um i'm also you know i'm sad that sir greger is going to be killed um which is the hound's brother
Starting point is 00:03:48 I mean, we haven't seen it yet. I'm not sad. He cut off a horse's head, Tara. Yeah, I guess you're right about that. That's a no-go in our book, Tara. Come on. Because he's called The Mountain, but he did like... That was him, right?
Starting point is 00:04:05 Oh, no, never mind. I do hate him. Okay, because he fried off his brother's face. I forgot. Yeah, yeah. I like the brother whose face was fried off. The hound is great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:15 The mountain is bad. Yeah. He's a poor sport, which I already did hate him with the horse thing. But then I thought, oh, but he's the hound's brother, and the hound seems lonely, so I, like, felt bad. But then I forgot that he burned his own brother's face. So, fuck that guy. And he cut the horse. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:30 Fuck that guy. So anyway, give some quick thoughts. And we'll go to our one question. I love these two episodes. I love this season. And also, I fear for Ned, not only because it's Sean Bean. And Sean Bean, 99.999% of the time does not survive in any of the movies or TV shows he's in just in general. and it's Sean Bean,
Starting point is 00:04:49 but also the information he just found out about the black hair with Barathean and also the gold hair of Lannisters. It seems like we are going and what I was alluding to earlier
Starting point is 00:04:59 that it probably is Jamie Lannister's son but I can't wait for the reveal, we'll see. But the information that he just found out is what got John Aaron killed. So I hope that Ned Stark survives. I love him. He's my second favorite character.
Starting point is 00:05:13 He's the best. He's my second favorite character on the show after Tyrion. Tierian, yeah. Yeah, so, and I'm just very scared for him. I mean, this place is, like, full of people who are positioning themselves in a way to, you know, get a position of power and these people lust and crave it. Whereas Ned is a very wise and courageous person. He doesn't want power, and that is the type of person you want on the crown, someone who doesn't approve of that type of thing.
Starting point is 00:05:43 You know what I mean? And he just wants what's good for the people, not want, he's selfless. as opposed to selfish. Right. So that's why I love Ned and that's why he would be, you saw in that moment right there, why he would be such a great king, whereas everyone else around him for like little finger,
Starting point is 00:05:57 even though it seems like he's helping him, I don't trust it. I don't trust any of them, honestly. I really don't. And I know Robert Barathean, like, I thought they did a great job of adding a lot of complexity in that scene that he had with Circe, not talking about the one where he honored her with his hand
Starting point is 00:06:13 or his slap, whatever you want to call it. but the scene where he had the conversation with Circe about feelings and his feelings and like you feel you get the tragic again the backstory of what happened like his the reason he drinks and does this because he doesn't feel complete in his life he's got the king he's got the seven kingdoms and all that that would complete most people right
Starting point is 00:06:34 we've got the ultimate power in the world I don't have a Ned Stark's sister that's all I wanted that would have made me complete that would have made me whole so I mean that really adds lot of layers to his honesty in that moment was freaking savage dude it was straight up said no and here's the thing surcy you know has never even brought that up or ever told him that she has feelings for him and she straight up said for a while there i felt for you i'd feel it for you could there have ever been in us which is a wild thing for surcy to say yeah no and then she said
Starting point is 00:07:09 like i thought that by not talking about it you know that would uh you know make you forget about her and like uh you know make you possibly you know have feelings towards me so again didn't work we don't like surcy I can imagine most of you don't aside from the fact that she is gorgeous and a and Lena Hetty or however you pronounce it she's a phenomenal
Starting point is 00:07:30 actor everyone in the show is phenomenal actress the performance is there but I still felt sympathy and empathy and again it gives you perspective on her character you feel bad in certain aspects for her character like her relationship with her husband it does suck yeah it's not good at all yeah so but
Starting point is 00:07:46 And also with Tyrion, I think, and I'm probably going to say this a lot throughout however long he's going to be on the show, I have no idea. Never judge a book by its cover. You know, Tyrion is such a cool character, not only for his quick wit, not only for his plucky attitude, not only for his awesome dialogue or the great performance from Peter Dinklage, but the fact that he's such, he's so the polar opposite of the, of his brother and his sister and his freaking awful nephew, I hate Joffrey so much. Yeah. But he's like, again, he had a choice there, as Tara just mentioned, when Lady Stark, Cat, when she was in a, and she was imprisoning him, too. Like, he had a choice to save her or to just run off and go to his freedom. And he chose to be honorable and noble and save her. That speaks a lot to the testament of his character.
Starting point is 00:08:34 And he's this tall. And he did that. So I think that, again, speaks to his character. And I appreciate that, like, that they're going another level to show, like, how good of a person he is. And he's, again, he's not the normal type of Lannister who's like just craves that type of power and only cares about themselves. He's kind of almost on the level of a little bit of a stark in terms of being selfless in a way. So I did really appreciate that. And then you got someone like, and then you got the whole storyline going on.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Again, what I love about this show, it really is an ensemble. You have all these different subplots going on. Like, we're back in Winterfell. We got the whole thing with Brand. And then the whole thing with those people trying to, I don't know if they were homeless or what the deal was with that, but they were trying to, like, you know, steal his stuff. And then Rob came in in a very protective way. And then Grayjoy, I thought that was pretty awesome to see.
Starting point is 00:09:27 And then this animosity he carries towards Tyrion because she is having sexual relations with Tyrion. It was like, that was a fascinating scene, too, to see, like, just how much hatred and vindictiveness he feels towards Syrian. Who? Grayjoy. Oh, you're talking about Grayjoy. Sorry, you were skipping around. Okay, yes. Yes, I'm with you.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Sorry, I don't mean to be Wackadoo, Tara. But yeah, no, I just thought that, like, again, it just gives so many different layers to so many different characters. And then Aria, just that whole reveal when she was in the dragon dungeons, and she found out about, you know, this whole plot of the two bastards and that Ned had only found out about one. And then this plot to possibly take him out. And this fear she has because she loves her father so much.
Starting point is 00:10:09 This is the show is doing so many different amazing things. and the fact that it's able to do, again, I pointed this out already in the last review, I think, but the fact that it's able to do so, balance out so many different characters, give them the limelight and let them shine, and also make you care about so many different characters. And the fact, too, that these last two episodes didn't even have John Snow in them. The bastard was not here. And we still thought two amazing episodes.
Starting point is 00:10:34 That is the sign of an incredible show when you can have one of your most important chess pieces or your most important characters, not have them on. the last two episodes and we're still so damn invested in the story now if you've been part of the reject nation for a while you've probably heard us mention our site reject nation shop dot com where you can get apparel such as this now how did we build that site well we did that with today's sponsor note they were not our sponsor when we used them other note we could have saved some mullah if they were our sponsor then the way you can save mula through our link today shopify we've been using Shopify since day one. Yeah, I think also it's very surprising to see how much Sonsa, I mean, Sonsa was already a brat, but she has turned into almost a little, like, female Joffrey, which I absolutely hate. Like, the way that she was talking to her nanny or whatever you want to call her, she was an absolute C-U-N-T. Like, I did not like it. She did not seem like a Stark, like, at all. I was like, yeah, I think you can stay with the Lannisters. Like, what the F? And the fact that she is just so addicted to staying there when Ned is like we have to go and she's like what about Joffrey like I can't go I am with aria and being like I have lessons and I'm like you do girl like we need
Starting point is 00:12:46 to get her those lessons because I'll tell you right now are he's tiny and she can hide in places she gets good with the sword she'll stick some people with the needle um Sonsa can't do much except sit there and look pretty I'll tell you that much um so I I just I'm like hating her right now, which I didn't really expect that. When we went to The Vale to meet Miss Aaron and Robin, I also hate Robin. Robin is a psychopath child. Like, what the hell is happening when he's like, do I get to see a little guy fly? And I'm like, are you, you're psycho?
Starting point is 00:13:22 Like what? And I mean, I feel like we've all seen that with like a weird nepotism, not going that far, but where anytime, like, mom is sitting there, you know, Robin is right next to her and her hand is like on his leg and he's like cuddle up with mom and he's like, mommy, help me. It's like, it's disturbing because you see how old he is and you see that he is, he's literally the king. He's a child. Um, and that's, that's wild and it's very scary. Luckily, Miss Aaron still has a stronghold on him, even though he's a child. So like, I think that he, she won't let him. him get too out of control but at the same time this episode kind of showed us he's in control she'll do
Starting point is 00:14:06 whatever she needs to do to make her son happy including making people fly no matter yeah and i think also too you see in the couple scenes you see with little robin that he doesn't have that that that male kinship or the the fatherly figure that's uh there to raise him as well so you see that uh and again it's it's tough when a single mother by herself and she's got to take care of veil you know what i mean to have to pull double duties, that's very difficult to do. So you see the result of a spoiled and pampered little boy. Right. And also I, sorry, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:14:39 And we also saw Jora Mormont where Viseris confronts him and, oh, no, not, was it for, oh, yes, it was. Veseris confronts him and says, like, I see the way that you look at my sister. And the way that we are viewing Jora is like, he is protective. and he has given her the best advice. He has told her like, you've, now you are a Calisi because he's given, he's basically just showed her the way and had her back the entire time. So it is weird when Viseras gives us a little bit more
Starting point is 00:15:16 to think about because of his reaction. Right. His reaction was so good that you couldn't actually fully decipher it. When you look at him, when he says, I know, and then you can do whatever you want with my sister I know what you want to do with her or whatever Jora's reaction
Starting point is 00:15:36 is not of disgust like there's no way Jora's reaction is sort of like I'm going to swallow my words right now and I'll kill this motherfucker but it doesn't give a ton away it's still it's like hmm okay it leaves a bit of an opening
Starting point is 00:15:54 yeah well it's also a little ambiguous too because I've always seen Jora, and this is just me. I've always seen him as more of a fatherly mentorship figure towards DeNaris and just like very protective over her. If there is eventually, again, I don't know any spoilers about this show. If there is eventually a relationship between, I mean, she's married to Carl Jorogo right now, so Caldrogo, excuse me. We'll see, but again, that's the way I've always viewed their relationship.
Starting point is 00:16:24 But also, too, I did love that he stood firm to. Viceris and also I love that Viseras finally got a gold king crown worthy that he deserved that was awesome he's the biggest piece of shit he is so selfish He's the worst He did not care for his sister
Starting point is 00:16:40 One but he only cared about himself And in the end he got what he deserved And the only last thing I'll say And then we gotta go to the questionnaire I will say in regards to Sansa I agree with everything you are saying And I think we are meant to feel that way too But also too I think this show is giving us a good job
Starting point is 00:16:55 of giving us that feeling of perspective, as I always mentioned. And I understand where she is coming from while not agreeing with her in the moment right now. She is at that age where she doesn't resonate. Yeah, she's young and she's in love. Yeah, also she feels a sense of isolation from her family. She doesn't resonate with them. And she wants to be in love. And she feels like she is with Joffrey, even though you pick the worst dude ever, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:17:19 So I get where they're coming from and what she's feeling, why she's feeling that way. So, yeah. All right. Jay Rushden. Like, okay, the opening won an Emmy for the credits opening. Did I call that with the music? That's great. I don't know the music, but the opening.
Starting point is 00:17:33 Yeah, the credits opening, meaning the animation won an Emmy, which is great. I didn't know that. What location would you like, do you like the most? Oh, it's definitely the prison up at the top. The high, if that, I would not want to be. The veil? But, yeah, it did look sick. Like, you know, from a scope perspective and how epic it was.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Like, I've never seen a prison like that, to be quite. honest. Yeah. But in terms of what location do I like the most so far? You could go with the Erie. That's the Erie. No, that's the Erie. Hell no. I think it looked cool. I would just not want to I don't like it the most. Which one do I like the most? I guess throughout the six episodes, I would probably pick, like, in terms of it's the coolest set I've seen, it's probably going to be the wall. I just think there's just
Starting point is 00:18:19 something very like, it really hits the time that they're in, but also adds like a groundedness with the fantasy and balances it out a little bit. Yeah, for sure. I love the wall. I think the wall is the coolest location. The wall is great. You know, I don't like the Lannisters, but Cachley Rock always adds a lot of excitement because it's so huge. It's a whole town. A lot goes on there. There's always like soldiers and drama and fights and jousting. So as of right now, if we could remove the Lannisters and we're just at Cajley Rock with the starts, I would love that. But right now, I would, I would. go with cashly rock because i find it wildly entertaining for the moment we appreciate you guys
Starting point is 00:19:00 um joining us we do have to get out of here and go and do more work we love you to the moon and back see on the next one
