Starting point is 00:01:08 Three, two. All right, guys, we just got done watching Game of Thrones, season three, episodes three and four. Starting point is 00:02:00 Okay, so what did you think of these episodes, Andrew? Love, love, love them. All the interactions, the storyline, so good. I can't even, it's so hard to even pick, like, what my favorite one. Probably DeNaris, if I really had a Nara Dump. But there's so many fascinating things happening right now. We also got Lady Marjorie with Joffrey, how she's manipulating him. I'm so fascinated to also see if Joffrey really understands what's going on

Starting point is 00:02:28 if he's going to turn on her at some point because he's. Joffrey that's what he does and then of course with what we just witnessed with then there's such an epic ending then the brotherhood of no banners there's so many and then as well as seeing the complexity the humanity the nuance when it comes to Jamie as well as theon I love when movies and TV shows do that like characters who you should not be sympathizing and empathizing towards or giving that empathy towards like you were feeling that and they're having that sense of like seeing the error in their ways rather they're seeing where they went wrong in the

Starting point is 00:03:08 past and there's some humanity there or it's coming out a little bit and you can see that with when it comes to Jamie and late or not lady but rather Brienne because I know she doesn't like being called Lady Brienne but it's such a fascinating dynamic the two of them I love their interactions like for him to just come up that story to make sure that he preserves her innocence and to avoid that awful thing that was going to happen

Starting point is 00:03:38 to her like I would have never guessed Jamie would do something but all the time they've spent he's really gained a respect for her and it's just I really appreciate where they're going with his character and to have me feel bad for him

Starting point is 00:03:53 in a moment of losing his hand and to have some care for him it's really impressive because he's not a character I would have ever not only expected to not do something kind for someone else but to also like care about him in this way and same with Theon like I'm not

Starting point is 00:04:10 justifying any of the things that either them has done they've done some pretty gruesome shit some bad shit like immoral shit that's unforgivable may I even say irredeemable but damn

Starting point is 00:04:25 you're still backing me into a corner of not only perspective but like I actually, like, feel something right now. I'm, like, actually enjoying watching these characters, and I actually care about them after everything that they've done, where I thought we were at a point where I will never forgive them. So it's, I'm glad we're getting there. And not saying that I'm going to ever forgive either of them

Starting point is 00:04:48 because of the shit that they done, especially Theon. I mean, killed innocent kids and deal of that. But I understand where he was conflicted in his mind, like, just really trying to impress his dad. And he didn't really feel he was. is a stark and now he knows that so yeah incredible episodes i love them so so much i love the show it's it's really amazing and as i said while we were reacting in real time terra i would have loved to have been in the writer's room as they were going through it because there's so many characters

Starting point is 00:05:17 and so many storylines how do you know which where do you want to focus on rather and how do you know with editing too i got to imagine editing on this show must be fun but it also must be a pain in the arse because you got to know where you want to insert storylines where you want to insert character interactions so that it just meshes in well and they seem to always know where to hit their strides but what did you think of these episodes um i thought it was great so we leave you know on a cliffhanger you know for the end of three jami loses his hand um we see him and brian getting obviously a lot closer you know for her to look at him and be like you need to eat and her realizing you know what he's done for her makes him like less of an awful guy in her eyes but also

Starting point is 00:06:05 to us in the audience's point of view because he's done some some shitty stuff but at this point you have now somewhat made us forget that and gotten us on jamie lannister's side where you really do want jamie lannes to like kill all those guys that that have like taken him you're like on his side of like, yeah, let's get revenge. She's like, you need to eat so you can seek vengeance and all these fuckers. So I'm all for it. I also, I do like how Tywin has handled Circy. Sercy has always been such a stronghold in this environment. But Tywin knows like sort of how to put her in her place. He did hear her out, but also was like, listen, you think you're a lot smarter than you are and you have not been able to manipulate your son the way Marjorie has, meaning your son has

Starting point is 00:06:58 stepped all over you and you said, whatever you want, dear, which was always very annoying to me because Joffrey is such a prick. So I was glad that he told him that. I was like, hell yeah, let's go. And I really, really like that Marjorie's grandma and Lord Veris. I like sort of have this friendship now so and so does obviously tyrian because now he knows that lord veris will really do he can help him seek true revenge that reveal of of the guy in the box was such a great reveal and that shows how powerful you think a guy who is not powerful at all who has his balls cut off right Lord Varus has proven he's gotten himself to this point and being a man who's like chopped everything off and people probably look they see him as like oh well you don't you don't have anything it's a huge thing and yet he's made it to the top and he knows how to seek vengeance probably a lot better than other people get that guy in a box meaning and to keep him alive that's like true torture right you have to give him water and something. food, which I think is

Starting point is 00:08:18 amazing. So now he's really proven that what he's there for, which I really like, because we always knew, you know, he's sure, he has little spies, but we didn't know he's capable of that. Well, we do. Fellow Reject, Greg from an alternate timeline, is here to let

Starting point is 00:09:25 I'm just glad they exist so now I can be wearing them. Let's get back to the video, people. Varys's two greatest weapons, I think, are his patience and his brain. And just seeing those two in acts. That is one of my favorite monologues. And I don't care if it's recency bias. as one of my favorite monologues and reveals I've ever seen like to hear his backstory play out like that

Starting point is 00:09:48 and then to see because you could have at the very beginning of the scene thing he's got something important in there that could be like an Amazon style package or whatever you know that's in there and then nope the thing that I was talking about this whole time that led me to my journey of vengeance and revenge

Starting point is 00:10:08 is sitting right here in the box and it's not Gwyneth Paltrow's head. So that was such a fascinating reveal. And that actor who plays Veris, as I mentioned many times, he was on suits. And he did such a great job in that show, too, along with Catlin Stark, he's a great actor. He really knows how to play up the scene to really build you in, get you into the story of, or rather the backstory, and then pull out the curtains. I'm like, holy shit. Oh, my God.

Starting point is 00:10:37 But, yeah, it's, I think. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, Lord, Lord, Lady Marjorie's, so hard for all these characters. Lady Marjorie's, lady Marjorie's, I appreciate how direct she is. She does not take shit from anyone. She doesn't care who the F you are. He's going to talk to you how she feels. Whether that's a handmaid and, you know, you know, about roses and like, you, oh, oh, that's, oh, that's cute and whatever or varis i just appreciate how honest and direct she is and she just tells people how she really feels so those interactions between her and veris are really freaking amazing and then i'm very interested to see what's going to happen with sansa and with danny ranch from iron fist with marjorie's brother curious because as we know he's not into women but also this is all part of a larger scheme that they have in revenge for

Starting point is 00:11:42 was it Renley so yeah so many different plot lines so many different fascinating things so is there a specific thing that happened plot-wise that has you most interested right now? I mean I think they're all really intriguing

Starting point is 00:11:58 the last few things that I was going to say is that I liked how it I was still a little bit nervous about theon with that guy because I was like, wait, it seemed like a setup. Why did that guy send him directly? He told him where to go.

Starting point is 00:12:14 He said, his sister's going to find you there. But then a bunch of guys came after him. I'm like, this is a setup. But then he kills those guys. And I'm like, maybe it's not. But then they keep going. And I'm like, oh, holy freaking tamale. Okay.

Starting point is 00:12:26 So Theon is right back where we started, basically. They do set it up slightly as like, well, he confesses that he's like, well, my actual dad died up there, meaning, I think that this weird psychopath's plan was that was his plan all along, right? With Theon Grayjoy, that it wasn't just that he had admitted that he knows he's a true Stark now. I don't, we still just, I can't wait to get to the reasoning as to why. I want to get to the reasoning.

Starting point is 00:12:57 You are, you were probably right with what you just said. In the back of my mind, this is how I, I've always thought is that, is, but what's his What's Theon's father's name? Baylon. I've always thought like Baylon and the sister like had him taken there by the, you know, the first mates and all that because they've had control of them the whole time. They're the ones who took him there. They've had him there.

Starting point is 00:13:20 It's all been a test of loyalty. And since he never squealed on anything because he kept saying when he was being torture, they was not going to say anything. Then they let him go. And then he took him back. And once he confessed that he was a stark, oh, back back you go. Even though they were back there, but you are officially now going back into. the locks at least so i think that was the ultimate test right there but and failed in their minds but

Starting point is 00:13:43 we should see what happens definitely could be we should see yeah and i think uh lastly it's just like the whole uh growth of denaris they've done that they've done a really good job of keeping that in the middle of season three that's such a height so it's sort of like oh holy tamale where do we go from here because right now denarius has now eight thousand men her ships and all of her dragons intact. Thank God. There is honestly, I don't know who could actually beat her. We are far off from

Starting point is 00:14:15 you know actual war as of yet because we're we're just now moving with them but that is it's wild. Blackadoo wild that she has gotten everything that she has wanted and needed and it does

Starting point is 00:14:31 sort of give you the feeling like you do think like she is the true person who belongs in throne but it's also you know originally it was the targaryens um that had the throne initially to begin with i think this i think this is obvious but we're going to need those eight thousand soldiers and those three dragons for a lot of white walkers in my imagination so i know we want it for the iron throne no doubt but those white walkers are coming whether we like it or not so we're going to need it for i agree i agree yeah um okay guys we have got to get out of here
