Starting point is 00:00:30 so let's do this season three episode five three two one i clicked it guys if you're listening to us on apple or spotify please give us a five star rating thank you to proper for helping out of down these highlights super appreciate you if you are on youtube like comment subscribe when you do ring the bell ring the bell are you notified of all the videos so we will be dropping um i'm going to check to see if we got some questions for this. Doesn't look like it. Okay, so what went down?
Starting point is 00:01:09 How did you feel about these episodes? I love them. There's so much happening, so much to talk about. I think my favorite part is always, I mean, yeah, you can always say, like, when it comes to action or nudity, we're never, like, lacking when it comes to those things. but I just always love the dialogue and the characters the way we naturally progress them or just like a simple scene
Starting point is 00:01:34 where it could be the, what is it, Lady Tyrell? Is it she, the older Lady Tyrell, right? And Tywin, that is just one of the most fascinating exchanges and interactions because they are both so savage
Starting point is 00:01:51 and they are both so wise in what they are trying to achieve right there. That was literally one of my my favorite interactions to watch. I was so great. And then also, too, just watching the humanization of Jamie Lannister. This is a character. This is why I really appreciate this show.
Starting point is 00:02:09 To see a character, I really, and I probably talked about this before, it's been a little bit of a gap since we did the previous episodes, but this character I really despised in the past. I respected his skill when it came to as a swordsman and all that. I thought he was great, but I mean, he pushed out his brand, right? out the window? Yes. And of course,
Starting point is 00:02:31 some of the things he does with his sister is kind of gross, but just overall, I really despise the character and the way they've really been humanizing him, especially his relationship
Starting point is 00:02:42 with Brienne, and then that entire, might have been my favorite monologue, and you can always accuse me of recency bias, that's totally fine, and I can't be a prisoner of the moment, but that,
Starting point is 00:02:54 watching the pain and the heaviness in his eyes, I didn't expect us to go there with that, with his character. And to hear that story, I'm like, it really gave new meaning and depth to his character. I'm like, wow, I had no idea. That's, and I know we don't have a ton of backstory when it comes to everyone. Like, we're still learning a lot of different things. But I really had that just gave me such a fascination with his character and just hearing that too, because we didn't, a lot of times too, I'm more of the belief. And I think it's more powerful when you show versus tell.
Starting point is 00:03:30 But in this case, so sorry, I don't know the actor's name who plays Jamie. Such a powerful scene the way he described it. They're beautiful words, but he really executed on those words. And you could really feel, he made me believe, like in my mind when he was describing that story, I really felt like I was there and I was envisioning it in my head, everything he was describing. And that's the hard thing about doing a monologue like that. You have to make the audience member believe that you are transporting them to that scene, especially if you're not going to show it, because I'm sure the directors and the writers let that actor know, we're not actually going to be showing this. So you're really going to have to make the audience believe. Like, this is not going to be narration. Right. It's all you. So, and I'm sure it was a very tough prep for that scene, too. And he was phenomenal. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:21 was incredible acting in that scene. So there's definitely more I want to talk about, but what do you think of the two episodes overall? So the most exciting thing to me, I think would be Rob and you greet getting together. John, John, right? Yes, John Snow and you greet. I don't know what I said.
Starting point is 00:04:40 You said Rob. Yes, John Snow and you greet, however you say her name. Them getting together is a lot of fun. And following sort of their love story, especially up through the wall, them almost dying now they're at the top it's quite like an ending to these couple of episodes um and i also i i do agree with you that in in the in the tub in giving jamie lannister a lot of humanity basically being like he did it for all the right reasons which is insane that he's
Starting point is 00:05:16 been carrying around the Kingslayer name for so long. And it makes Ned Stark not as great, basically just like you are, you know, the vibe of like, you're not guilty into your proven otherwise, except Ned was like, no, he saw a sword in his hand was like, you're definitely guilty. So that's a tough story to take in because we really love the Starks. And I still do. Nothing has changed about that. but it you it does change your mind about jamie lannister specifically um i think it's crazy how
Starting point is 00:05:53 powerful tywin lannister is and how much he wins at literally everything he comes in he wins the freaking war and now he finds out that they're trying to get sonsa to marry lorris um into the Tyrell's and he's like no we're not going to do it and he does not give an F he will literally do anything to keep his power including marrying off both his you know his daughter and his son to people that they do not want to marry what a freaking twist his children are just tools that he couldn't care yes that is a wild wild twist I did not see that coming I cannot wait for the conversation I hope we do get to see it of what the hell is Tyrion? How is he going to explain this?
Starting point is 00:06:46 Will he tell them the truth? I don't know that he can do that. So he's going to have to be the bad guy to both of them. And that's just going to be terrible. I think the fascinating thing too, Tara, in that scene was Circe was so happy. She's like, Tyrion's going to have to do something he hates to do. And she was so, like, gratified in that moment. And it's like, oh, no, you got to do something, too.
Starting point is 00:07:12 It's like, I don't know why she thought for any moment that her father was, just only had Tyrion in mind for doing something nefarious and awful towards him. It's like, don't you know who your father is? Like, he never has your best interest at heart. Right. And then, like, to finally get that reveal, I'm like, that's why I love this show so much. It's so unpredictable in all the right and satisfying ways. And then it also can be so gross and.
Starting point is 00:07:39 all the other ways to like for instance with theon like that finger that oh my god it's hello there fellow reject i am interrupting this video first off to say thank you for watching secondly if you have been enjoying real rejects an amazing way you can show your support a little bit further is by joining our patreon page becoming a royal reject the reason we started up our patreon is because obviously with the kind of content that we produce we are subject to copyright claims monetization issues i mean this no hyperbole we get a copyright claim on something some things usually daily so our royal rejects have been an amazing way where we can still keep this channel going still keep it alive and of course what we offer over there is the full
Starting point is 00:08:25 length stretch and watch along for any movie or show that you see here that we cover for the highlights version on youtube over there you sync up with your own copy so that way we're watching the entire thing with you from beginning to end like we're like your buddies on the couch or on another computer screen wherever you want to place us secondly this is one of my favorite parts is you get to be a part of our videos essentially because every one of our reviews now if you've been watching a while we answer questions from our patrons so by proxy you're getting a shout up by proxy you're a part of our video and you help us do a better video too like oftentimes you are asking us questions like oh i didn't think about that thank you for asking so literally not just
Starting point is 00:09:03 financially supporting but also helping us just make better content so there's a link in the description box and pin comment if you wish to join so many of you guys have already thank you for becoming royals and another way if you wish to support you can become a righteous reject those are those who go to our merch store we hire the artists ourselves nothing is done through artificial intelligence our royals get 15% off at the site if you don't want to become a royal you want to go right to the site directly there's a barcode right here on screen also link of the description box and pin comment of course if you can't do any of that's a okay just like and subscribe that would mean a lot let's go back to the video
Starting point is 00:09:38 how they do the special effects on this but they are incredible like it is some of the most gruesome shit i've ever seen in my life it's movie effect type of special effects that they get for a tv show budget yeah they do they do a great job i think more specifically mostly what we learned in these last two episodes was that the lord of light is real a f uh that he that guy was re-alived six times which is insane yeah and i'm most i'm very very intrigued to see what they do with Gantry, with the, you know, the red lady, you know, with his blood. I'm like, well, where is he going to go? You know, is he going to be better than Stannis? I don't know, man. I don't know. It's a wild plot. I mean, wild plots in general is insane.
Starting point is 00:10:29 And then, of course, you know, Rob's uncles got to marry one of the fray girls. And we all know they're not very good looking at all. So that's also terrifying. There's so much going on. And Rob made a really, I will say, that I get it was vengeance. They caught off his dad's head. And now he's pissed. He's trying to prove a point because he's kind of losing the war.
Starting point is 00:10:50 But I do think he should have not cut off the car start's head. So he could have still had them as soldiers. Now we're a little bit screwed. But I also get why he did it. Yeah, I get why he did it too. He wants to make sure that there's obedience in his. army and under his kingdom. He wants to make sure no one steps out a line. He gave orders to make sure that nobody does anything to dissuade or anything like that. And I understand the possibility of why he would
Starting point is 00:11:18 the need to rather do it. So, but his white, and when you're in that type of anger and in that animosity mode, sometimes you don't, logicality just goes out the door. Yeah. And, you know, that's why his wife and his mom were like hey look we're gonna lose half our forces if you cut if you kill him it's better to just keep him as a hostage let's just wait till the war ends right let's let cooler heads prevail right now yeah and unfortunately just didn't he wasn't listening to the uh cooler heads did not prevail unfortunately so it could cost him but then we learned with theon gray joy he i know he said he was a liar that guy but that was it that did he say he was his his son right the one who cut off his head that rob's what's his name the guy who rob cut off his head
Starting point is 00:12:08 oh he's a car stark son yeah i believe so they left it so yeah so if that is the truth and if he is torturing theon for uh you know because of what he did at the betrayal for what he did to winterfell and just in general i'm fascinated how he's going to react when he learns of what rob did to his father like does he align now with the on we'll see i don't know i don't know man also you know it's funny that the we see joffrey is zero percent these these two episodes at the very end with his bow and arrow he kills ross which is just it's so i loved her sad because she was great yeah um and of course it just every episode joffrey has just proven to be such a little prick.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Yeah. He's just the worst. And so is Lord Dalish. I hate him so much. Just the worst, man. He's awful. And, you know, seeing Sonsa cry and the ship is leaving and you're like, oh, my God, you know, that was like her one and only hope.
Starting point is 00:13:14 She wants to get away from this very terrible place. So does Loris. And now he has no idea. They're both going to be stuck here. Yeah. Which is going to be really bad. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:27 And then I think we covered pretty much. everything there. Tywin, Lady Alana. Yeah. Oh, that that was honestly one of my favorite scenes. It's like what you already said. When Tywin and Lady Alana. The back and forth was so good. Yeah, it was, it was really, really, really great. The same with Lady Olena and Tyrion. That was also a great conversation. They gave Lady Tyrell a lot of really great monologues in these last two episodes, which I really appreciate because she's a really phenomenal actress. like she comes on screen and you're like i believe her i mean i believe everybody in this but i really really like her yeah for her writing for sure but also i love when she's like yes my my uh is is is it her son um her son and her daughter uh the tyrells that she's marrying off to yes okay i love i said yeah he's uh he's a sword swallow or whatever but uh at least uh my children aren't um doing things together i love that exactly as she got back at him and she was
Starting point is 00:14:30 trying to get under his skin as well. So that scene was just incredible by two incredible actors. The back and forth was just amazing. That's why the show is so damn good. The dialogue, the actors, the way they were able to contort back and forth with each other is just incredible. And also, too, we didn't really talk too much about Calisi when it comes to just what she's doing, how she's marching on. That's also fascinating, too. and then with Jora, like, is he going to have to make a decision of exile possibly if it makes
Starting point is 00:15:03 her look bad if she does, if she is able to take the Iron Throne? So that leaves an open door of the possibility. But I think, like, he is, like, he's so loyal to her and so caring towards her that, if that's really what she asks and that's going to be the best look, he's not going to want to do it, but he's going to do it for her. So, yeah, it's always about the politics, right? Yeah. In regards to that.
Starting point is 00:15:26 So that was a fascinating. conversation that they had, but I also love too that we're seeing, and this has always been with her when it comes to a leadership perspective, she operates from a place of respect and love and loyalty. She doesn't operate from a place
Starting point is 00:15:41 of fear. And she gives her soldiers and the people that follow her choice and free will. And I love that of so much about her. People want to follow when you give them that choice. Yeah, exactly. It was a really beautiful moment. I really love these last two episodes. Can't wait for
