Starting point is 00:00:00 Thank you to Shopify for sponsoring this video. More on them in just a bit. I feel ready for Halloween, too. I'm feeling good. You ready, babe? Yeah, man. Three, two, one, I clicked it. Well, anyway, you guys, thank you for being here.
Starting point is 00:00:21 Don't forget if you're on Apple, Spotify, five-star, thumbs up. Shout out to Prepper for helping edit this down. We appreciate you guys. And also, Eric Nurekronic, we appreciate you. I think that we should switch it up and start with some Patreon questions here because I'm not exactly sure what to ask you. Yeah. So let's just get right into this.
Starting point is 00:00:40 So you guys who don't know if you are a royal reject of your patron and you can actually ask us questions that we answer afterwards in the review section. So that's what we're going to do right now. Here we go with the Halloween two questions coming from the patrons. Let's go. Corey H. Thank you, Corey. How many times did Dr. Lumas actually shoot Michael and how?
Starting point is 00:00:58 six no four in this one I shot him six times I know right yeah I shot him six times how successful do you feel this film represented
Starting point is 00:01:08 picking up on the same night as the first Halloween even though it was done three years later I actually think that she looked pretty similar yeah and maybe the nurse
Starting point is 00:01:18 or his right hand woman who was in this one maybe it was the same actress but three years look different I don't know yeah he looked Loomis looked the same too so I think decently successfully
Starting point is 00:01:28 Yeah. What do you think? I feel like they did. I mean, especially, I mean, we're using the first film as our very first, like, shot, which is a plus that helps us get into it. But I do, I do, I don't think she changed too much. The doctor didn't change too much. And, I mean, we just got to throw a mask on somebody. So I feel like picking up on the same night, I was, I was into it. And I at least liked seeing the Halloween stuff. Because remember, we kind of were like, why didn't we see like trick or trick. creators are like decorations and this one we got that which is plus i agree i think one of my favorite parts of this movie is that we pick up right where the last one left all agreed so that was very interesting gabriel um thank you gabriel here we go gabriel says for me holloween one and two
Starting point is 00:02:14 is one of the best double feature to watch back to back because the storyline makes them basically part one and two of what could be argued as one big movie what's your best back to back movies to watch for this reason my absolute favorite to be kill bill volume one and two but Halloween is still top three. Oh. That's interesting. I didn't feel like this, this made one less complete.
Starting point is 00:02:35 Yeah. You know what I mean? Because it added more, it is just odd, the things that we had already called out, right? Like there's an introduction in a bunch of characters
Starting point is 00:02:46 and we don't really see them again, which makes it seem like an unfinished story. Or things that we talk about that we never addressed. Like, where are her parents? Yeah, where are they, man? and why
Starting point is 00:02:57 yeah I kind of hope three picks up right where two leaves off right just to be like where are your parents
Starting point is 00:03:04 we get your adopted now you're realizing oh that's your brother um I love doing the TDK trilogy back to back to back I love that trilogy
Starting point is 00:03:15 dark night trilogy um I know you you love the dark night as well but for one and two I'm trying to think of what's the best um
Starting point is 00:03:24 any ideas we'll think on it i'll think on it yeah thanks anyway gabriel but i do agree that maybe this one and and this one it still was fun to watch but we do have some questions yeah for sure tiffy s 1983 thank you tiffy what would you say it was the best kill in two fun fact the kills in two were supposed to be on the level of friday 13 since the director saw how much people enjoyed Friday 13th when it came out. I actually think we had some really cool kills. We did. Probably the hot tub. One was the best kill for me
Starting point is 00:04:01 because it's not a hot tub, whatever. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Every time our face come up, the effects on her face were just so good. That was awesome. And we kind of knew it was coming, but you didn't know exactly how, and I just thought that that looked fantastic. Yeah. I love that the director
Starting point is 00:04:16 kind of stole the idea from Friday the 13th because in that film, obviously, every kill was different. We were always looking forward to like how are they going to kill this person off and then it was like it would be like a sword through a bed and kills two people and you're like that's whack um i feel like it worked a little better in the friday the 13th movies because we introduced everybody at once and then we knew all of our characters and then we slowly killed them off this was like every couple minutes we kept introducing somebody new killing them introduced kill them so it like the kills didn't hit as hard but
Starting point is 00:04:44 there were still really cool kills it's almost like they wanted to introduce new people so that they could display the kills but they weren't quite sure how to do it right right Right, Tara, totally. And, like, the kills were great. I love the split screen when the doctor has the needle in his eye, and then he eyes that other girl. That was very cool. The hammer through the head was also awesome.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Yeah, that was really cool. Yeah, really good ones. I'm still a little unclear about the woman who was bleeding out on the floor. Oh, yeah. I guess he hooked it into... But that didn't seem like his MO somewhere. Maybe she was, like, giving blood, and then he did that? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:23 I don't know. Yeah. Lou G. Boy, Coulton, thank you, Blue. What are your thoughts on the lack of dog casting in either of these movies asking for a friend? Meaning like there was no... We had a dog at the beginning. We had a Doberman. And scared the crap out of terror.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Totally. Thought on the lack of dog casting. That is D, right? I know the cursors of a word that says dog, right? Yeah. I didn't think much about it Yeah, me neither But blue ones
Starting point is 00:05:56 Are you saying blue You want more dogs in here So maybe he's thinking Instead of Adobe You'd want a Rottweiler or like a German Shepherd I'm feeling as if maybe this question Wasn't for Halloween Not sure
Starting point is 00:06:11 It's for like the secret life of pets But it got in here I love it Jackson Ryan My scream queens are a bad Baby, I miss me some Roxy and Tara Horror. Oh, C. Jackson didn't even... Love it.
Starting point is 00:06:27 There's more to it, but he's just giving us a compliment. I love that. I appreciate it. After watching Halloween 2 and several other older horror franchises, is there anything you wish horror films today would incorporate more of or go back to? For me, it's letting scenes breathe to build suspense. I really like that, too, Jackson, that they do let it breathe. And I even noted that in this one very early on.
Starting point is 00:06:48 It's so refreshing to be able to build suspense by what. watching a scene play out like when the cop goes outside to look around rather for a minute I'm really thinking like oh oh right sometimes I don't feel like we delivered um as much on the build here but it was nice to have a build but I feel like the thing that I was really harping on was the score of course we have great score in horror movies now but they're a little more complicated yeah this is a little simple which I love I agree you know when Michael's coming because it sounds like Michael's coming yeah you know like this little sound yeah and we just kind of like introduced a couple new instruments every time to make it a little different, but I think that
Starting point is 00:07:24 the score is so, so powerful. How do you feel, Tara? Yeah, I love the practical effects. Like, with the girl, we see the skin come off. There's no CGI here. That explosion was practical. The stuntman who's on fire is practical. I want us to go back to that, because I can tell on screen, and I think it just adds a type of, like, where you just feel like you can feel it more because it's real and it's like right there like even the car in the very beginning that smashes into that into the the Michael Myers dummy into the van and there's a big explosion that was sad but it was it looked awesome and it was not and I I would love to go back to the practical but her face like you said in the scalding awesome there's almost nothing that doesn't look fantastic in this I agree
Starting point is 00:08:13 I know we had the issue with the belt and then you said that the one girl who's dead her eyes were moving yeah slightly We saw our little eye moving. But for the most part, it just looks phenomenal. Agreed. Okay. Rejignation, when we first launched our merch shop, I had no clue what I was doing. Thank you Shopify for sponsoring this video. Resonance Z, thank you, resonance, says quick question, how do you feel about the reveal regarding Michael
Starting point is 00:09:59 and Lori's relationship, but does it change how you feel about Michael in general? Tara, how do you feel? Does it change how I feel about Michael in general? No, not really. I still think he's sort of the same sociopath who just wants to
Starting point is 00:10:17 kill his sisters. I guess we're getting a little more lore here of like he hates women maybe is what they're setting up. I mean, he wanted to kill the first sister. Now he's after this, you know, Lori who got adopted and moved. I think it changes the way more, less how I feel about him and more how I feel about Lori that like now we know she's connected to this sociopath, right? And now she has to like fight her brother, which is wackadoo. And we kind of felt it or maybe called it in the mid-movie, one that mom goes, you're not my real daughter or whatever, and then you see her at the hospital with him. You're like, oh, okay, something's up here.
Starting point is 00:10:56 And the elementary school stabbing the sister. Exactly. So. You know, this isn't, like, quite a fair answer to the question, but for me, because you guys know, I don't remember any of these movies, but I have seen the most recent Halloween movie. And so I'm kind of wondering, like, how this changes that, because I had no idea. that they were siblings.
Starting point is 00:11:18 That they were right. When I was watching the most recent one, I had no idea they were siblings and that was never mentioned. And to this moment, I'm like, wait, what? Like, you would think that would maybe come up at some point. Right. So I'm kind of like, do they end up retconning that or? Right.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Like, meaning like pretend like Halloween 2 doesn't exist. I'm curious. I mean, I don't know because I haven't seen any of them, but like I get what you're. I don't remember any of the ones in the middle. Right. I know that I guessed it in this based off of the things that were happening, but that is nothing to do with the movie that I saw. Right.
Starting point is 00:11:55 It would be kind of a bold move if it's like, if you saw it too, you know what's going down and we're not going to mention it again. Yeah, maybe. She knows his name and she's going after her sociobrother who won't die. Maybe. So how it makes me feel about Michael in general is like a little confused. And I feel like it kind of changes a little bit of one because I feel like when they did one,
Starting point is 00:12:16 I don't know that they fully made the decision that they were siblings. It feels like they'd made that choice for two. I'm with you on that because of the realty. That's the only reason he was in that house. The key. Right. So, yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Jay Rushden. Thank you, Jay. I think this is our last question. Only Jaws result. Okay, Jaws result. I can read. Okay, Jaws result made people not swim in the ocean. So does this movie keep you away from emergency room uses.
Starting point is 00:12:46 No, I want to go to that emergency room. It was empty as all get up. They'd serve me so quick. But, Bip, there was no doctors. There was one. There was one doctor, and he died. I know, but here in L.A., we got to wait for, like, four hours. At least.
Starting point is 00:12:59 At least. If not six. Six is normal, right? Which is tough. It's not going to make me stay away from emergency rooms, but I do feel like the fact that we saw all those people walking at the end. So it's like this isn't in that role of a location. That was weird, right?
Starting point is 00:13:18 Yeah, this movie just made some strange choices that I feel like if they had done a couple of things different, it actually could have been excellent. But like, they should address where is this hospital that you can't walk anywhere. Because at any point, any of you guys could have got up and leave except for Lori whose ankle was messed up. What happened to Jimmy? Yeah, totally. So many things. So, no, I definitely, I don't think this has the same jaws effect as staying out of the water because this didn't happen because they were in the emergency room. He came to the emergency room to find her.
Starting point is 00:13:54 To find her. Not, not like all of us, even though he does end up killing him because he likes to kill. You know, and I wrote down the Sam Hane, which means end of summer and some other dead thing, right, that he wrote in blood on the chalkboard. I thought maybe that would come back. And it did with the fire. A little bit, right? So, I mean, that was a little bit of fun lore there, but, yeah, Halloween purposes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:21 I feel like really what it does is just make Halloween a little bit scarier in real life because now you see that mask, you're like, Michael Myers, creepy. You know, like, it now has such an established thing that even today, however many years later, it's still a thing where you're like, ugh. Yeah. Like, no thanks. Yeah. those are our patron questions
Starting point is 00:14:44 just in general talking a little bit more about the movie I will say Tara that when we are on Lori or Michael I really care and even in this movie you know like those slow her trying to get away and him coming after her and the tension is building I think that's the strongest
Starting point is 00:14:59 part of this franchise is that I really care about Lori and I really care about Michael and that does make it a little different than what we've seen in Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th or even in Chuckie is that we have a we have a main girl
Starting point is 00:15:14 you know who I think is with us for the I don't know about the whole franchise but she won and two and I know in the most recent one I saw so it's cool to not just have the villain be the only constant yeah and we really grow an attachment to her because of that it makes this movie have a bigger challenge though
Starting point is 00:15:31 which is make me care about anybody else that isn't Lori yeah and I do feel like they did that with Jimmy because of how he felt about Lori but then that didn't pay off so I As somebody who's accused consistently on this channel of liking everything, I will tell you guys that I think that this movie really struggled at times, but I do like the Lori and Michael of it all.
Starting point is 00:15:53 I agree with you. I think it's funny, even that foggy shot where we see the ambulance go off, it's like they had extras and they had to use them. So they're like, just walk this way, be in frame, make something moving, which is a weird choice. What I did, though, very much like was that it was a long tracking shot. I thought they did some really great tracking shots where we stay on the shot, especially when we are at the house and we go through, we get out of the car, we go up to the house, we pop into three conversations, land on the porch, stay on the shot. The psychiatrist makes it all the way back down. The crowd goes around. That's all one shot. And I love that about this film. But that has nothing to do with story.
Starting point is 00:16:35 So I think that what you're saying make, yeah, make me care about anyone else, yes, besides Lori and Michael and the doctor, right, who sacrificed. Yeah, who sacrificed his life. It was very funny how much time they took on the other characters. And once we knew what was happening, we're like, oh, yeah, they're going to die, though. like so it doesn't it doesn't allow us to get attached we're not like trying to pay attention to maybe the names or how are they what are they saying because we're like they're dead right so that was a little weird how we introduced a character killed him off and i felt like now that one of you guys said that the director really liked friday the 13th it means for the story it was just like how can we show different kills throw these characters in there we don't have to have to have to have to have an attachment to him, which is not great for story, but we did get to see the kills, and that's a plus. I mean, I get it.
Starting point is 00:17:40 It's a horror movie, so. Dude, the one blonde cop. The one blonde cop. Oh, God. What's up with that delivery? That was wild. Like, why didn't they give him that note? Some of the lines were difficult, but some of it was still, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:17:52 he was in a different movie, and I was like, I feel bad for him, because maybe, you know, a lot of really talented people have not great performances. Totally. Because the director didn't say anything, or because the lines are weird or wonky or whatever. but I was like, what movie is this man in? Totally. At the end, he got a little bit better and a little more believable, but the second he pops up, he went, oh, yeah, when he was like,
Starting point is 00:18:14 and they went after whatever her name was. Annie! It was so odd that I'm like, why was the director not going, nope, that's not it, buddy? Or maybe he thought it was. I don't know. Yeah, maybe. Maybe. Because at a point where, honestly, I was theorizing in my head, like, is he teamed with the killer? Like, he's so off-putting, I don't trust him.
Starting point is 00:18:35 Right? There had to be other people who thought that, too. Yeah. Because everyone else, I actually was like, really, really saw it. I'm really trying to think. The nurses were great. Nurses were great. Even the weirdo guy who wanted to juice it the whole time.
Starting point is 00:18:48 He was very believable. The doctor really good. Exactly. Doctor was great. The elderly people from the beginning. Yeah. His assistant, who I think was from the first one who shows back up, she's great, very believable.
Starting point is 00:19:01 And he says, I didn't even, I barely recognize you. I think that's why we're supposed to be like, oh, yeah, we didn't either. I don't know. Maybe it was a new actor. I think you might be right about that. Because the more I looked into her eyes, I was like, I think that's her. I've seen her before. I'm sure you guys will let us know.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Yeah, well, let us know your thoughts in general. We're going to continue with this franchise. It is, after all, right here. Yeah, it is. Look how cool that sweater is. It is the sickest. It is now available, limited time per the usual. their Halloween and we cut it off
Starting point is 00:19:33 so go snag it because it's one of our most popular get in rejects we're going to watch movies look how cool that is we look so cool yeah we worked hard on this we did that one's so awesome uh Tara any final thoughts for the peeps no I thought this was fun I do like that there was some
Starting point is 00:19:49 inspiration for Friday 13 different kills I enjoyed that and I really enjoyed the practical stunts so thanks for that later rejects Thank you.
