Rob Zombie’s Halloween II (2009, Director’s Cut) takes the brutal reimagining of Michael Myers to an even darker, more surreal level. Picking up after the bloody events of the first film, Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor-Compton – An American Crime, Sleepover) struggles with the trauma of her survival, battling nightmares, violent outbursts, and the shocking truth of her family connection to Michael Myers. Meanwhile, Michael Myers (Tyler Mane – X-Men, Troy) embarks on a nightmarish journey haunted by visions of his mother Deborah Myers (Sheri Moon Zombie – The Devil’s Rejects, Lords of Salem) and a ghostly white horse, driving his relentless pursuit of Laurie. Loomis (Malcolm McDowell – A Clockwork Orange, Time After Time) exploits the massacre for fame with his controversial book, adding tension and chaos as Haddonfield prepares for another bloody Halloween night. Featuring some of the film’s most infamous and disturbing moments, including Laurie’s descent into madness, Michael’s brutal rampages, and the polarizing finale of the Director’s Cut, this version of Halloween II pushes boundaries and remains one of the most divisive slasher sequels ever made. Roxy Striar & Tara Erickson react to, review, and break down this twisted vision of Michael Myers and Rob Zombie’s unique horror legacy. Starting point is 00:01:40 Let's Rocks and Troll. Three, two, one. I clicked. Susan's the Reject Nation. We just watched Rob Zombies, 2009 Halloween. two. We are making our way through this franchise. Tara
Starting point is 00:01:58 has peed. I have watched the credits. We are here to talk to you guys about it. Shout out to Prepper for helping edit it's down. This would be a very difficult one to edit down for so many different reasons. It was harsh, harsh, harsh. If you're on Apple, Spotify, five-star thumbs up if you're on YouTube,
Starting point is 00:02:15 then follow us at Real Rejects everywhere on social media. We love our patrons. One of the cool things that we started implementing this year is that you guys ask us questions. and we answer them, and that's what we do for the review section. Plus, we talk a little bit more about our thoughts as well. So let's just jump right into this terrace so that we can see what it is that you guys want to know about us watching this movie.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Let's go. Yeah, why does it say that? It was just the cutoff time for them. Don't worry, you, buddy. Oh, all right. I get it. Here we go. I am me, N-E-R-G.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Rodney. Shout to Rodney. Curious as to how you all feel on this take of all of Michael Myers. It's got it to be too grotesque and unnecessary, especially for what this movie did to Annie's character, Daniel Harris. Seeing Little Jamie like that in the same movie franchise is something I'll never forgive Rob Zombie before. What's Little Jamie?
Starting point is 00:03:13 I think Little Jamie is Daniel Harris. Oh, yeah, so they did use footage from that. Okay, then that makes sense. I get it. I get it. I get it. Tara, how do you feel about this? I get that.
Starting point is 00:03:24 Uh, I, I mean, I think that it's realistic for what Michael Myers would do, but I do get that some of it is grotesque and unnecessary, but we called it out during the film. There is some unnecessary kills that aren't leading us to the way in where Michael Meyer's brain would be going, which is like looking for his sister. But, um, yeah, we both like Annie a lot. and that sucked, seen her like that, which is, you know, I'm with you. I also found it to be a little grotesque and unnecessary. I, as somebody who loves the terrifier movies, it's not that I find all movies that are grotesque to be unnecessary. Right. This one, I just felt like the scenes weren't moving the plot forward that were grotesque. I was just like, wait, why do we deviate to do this?
Starting point is 00:04:17 There was, like, some that literally have nothing to do with the plot. Right. And I'm like, what? It's not even about finding her. like you're just random places killing people. Right, right. Than odd. Jane Rhodes, I always get weird looks when I say I love this movie.
Starting point is 00:04:31 It's one of my favorites of the series. I know the White Horse stuff is weird, but it works for me. But I'm curious if the supernatural stuff worked for y'all or do you like straight forward slasher type of stuff? I love the she-jacks. I've been watching all since y'all discovered the Purge series. That's awesome. Love that.
Starting point is 00:04:48 And I've watched all the movies y'all have covered so far, and I can't wait to see what y'all will react to next. That's so sweet. Thank you, Jayden, for that. That's awesome. How did you feel about the White Horse Supernatural stuff? It didn't really work for me.
Starting point is 00:05:04 I didn't, I do, and to answer your question, I do prefer the more straightforward, I think, slasher type. Maybe the White Horse stuff was a breather from the grotesque stuff, but I wasn't like, oh, wow, this is a really good sci-fi plot. they added in here that makes it even more effed up mentally. I just thought it was a little
Starting point is 00:05:28 you know, odd. I didn't think it was that cool or that much that much of an addition to the scripts. I like supernatural stuff a lot thinking about what I've seen
Starting point is 00:05:45 on this channel like something like talk to me I love but this felt like they sat down and decided What haven't we done with Halloween yet? I guess we haven't gone super natural other than Michael Myers always lives. Let's maybe try that.
Starting point is 00:06:02 It didn't seem like they had like a great idea for it. It just seemed like they thought that they should. Yeah. So it didn't really work for me. The movie isn't horrible. There's stuff that I like. But it's not super cohesive and it's definitely on the bottom of,
Starting point is 00:06:18 towards the bottom of the list. It's not the dead bottom, though. Well, there's one movie that literally during the movie I said, this movie is all good. Yeah, well, I can't, I can never remember the number. You guys will tell us. Yeah, let us know. Thanks for watching Since Purge, though. You rock, Jane. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:34 Senial Lee, do you prefer Daniel Harris as young Jamie Lloyd in Holland, 4 and 5? Or Annie in the Rob Zombie films also how cool is to see Chuckie's Dorff play her father. Yeah, we found out that Brad Dorff played her father the last time. Yeah. And then this time, we didn't bring that up at all.
Starting point is 00:06:49 But we did know that. Even though Tara thought that he looked like a justified actor, and I feel like he looks like Stevie ends up. But we do know that it is Brad Dorff, and we do think that's cool. It is cool. It's so weird because this voice just sounds so different to me, and I wouldn't have known if it didn't pull it up last time.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Yeah, I agree, because we freaked out in the last, we were like, that was Brad Dorif. Like, we just didn't know. Yeah. I feel like it's kind of an unfair question because Daniel Harris was so different. So different. I think that she has more to chew on here and I like her as Jamie
Starting point is 00:07:24 but I think that she I think her performance in the Rob Zombie films and she gives the strongest performance. Yeah, it's a lot better for her because she's like grown into herself as an actor and she's a lot more to show us and her range in these Rob Zombie films are great. Oh, fuck me.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Sorry, but no, it's all right. There we go. Yeah, I got a bit. Okay. D.K. Lounge. Do you think Sheriff Brackett should have told Lori about her connection to Michael before Loomis' book came out? Or was he still in the right since he said in the previous movie, if they found out they would basically crucify her? You know, obviously he should have told her.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Yeah. I think it's 2020, but still, like, people deserve to know where they come from and who they are. Yeah, it was a, it's an odd way to find out. And I get that that's why he was so upset. He's like, I should shoot you right now. I was going to save that girl's life, but because of your book. Like, maybe he just had no idea the book was coming out. But, yeah, I think he should have probably told her before.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Especially, like, Loomis has been doing all the talk shows and stuff, you know, like you see. Yeah, that's true. That's true. Yeah, you should have. Michael Medinia Cuthuria. Hey, she checks. Hey, Michael. Hope you all have a good day.
Starting point is 00:08:43 There was a lot of drama behind the scenes of these films. And this one in particular had a lot of interference from the studio. causing insane tension between Rob Zombies and the Weinstein's, my question, which I'm sure may have been hinted at during the reaction, you notice the struggle in the final product. Yeah, for sure, it was interesting before we started, John said to us that Rob Zombie almost didn't come back for this movie because of the tension with the studio, and I didn't know what that meant, but in this, I think you can see, like, clearly Rob Zombie's going for one thing, and then there's studio notes coming in
Starting point is 00:09:18 and they're trying to change it to another and it's just, it's not super cohesive. I agree. I mean, that happens a lot when you don't. I mean, it was written and directed by him, but when you don't produce, like, your own stuff, people who control the money, control what gets done. So I do think it affected the final product.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Yeah. Stewie Bro. Stoie Bro says, how did you feel about the Michael taking out his, taking on his mask and talking to Lewis at the end. end what do you say kill you death yeah so what do you say yeah die die he said die that might only be in the director's cut so if you didn't watch that version oh we must have because that's why we did yeah we're on the we're on the director what are your thoughts on that happening in general also just so you guys are not super confused the next movie is another timeline change it's direct sequel to
Starting point is 00:10:09 just the first movie okay brilliant so everybody in the comments um i've noticed this on youtube but everybody was like, why has nobody told these girls it's multiple timelines? And it's because when you guys saw, when you guys have started to see some of the things, we had already filmed like seven of these movies by the time they started getting released. So now we know there are multiple
Starting point is 00:10:30 timelines. Right. And like there's seemingly like five timelines. There's a lot. So I think that that's kind of a bummer when a franchise has so many timelines but I liked the first movie so I'm okay with that. a little bit weird but okay
Starting point is 00:10:48 how do you feel about the first part of this question Tara I don't like him taking off his mask at all him talking don't like it I don't want to see his face ever it makes it a lot less scary and I think it would have been a lot more cool to see him get like all the bullets in the Michael Myers mask
Starting point is 00:11:07 I can just I don't know I don't know I wasn't here I didn't hate it that much that he took off his mask but I didn't like it. I really didn't like it. I think that it like took a completely changed. What Michael's whole thing is is he needs to hide behind a mask. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:11:27 And here he doesn't. Looked like David Harbour, dude. It was so odd. But more than not liking that was me not liking him speaking. Why? Yeah. That was weird. I don't want to hear his voice.
Starting point is 00:11:39 I know we've seen him talk as a kid and that makes sense. But like once he takes his bow of silence, why is he? just that's so odd that did not work for me friends of the reject nation i'm sure some of you already heard me talk about this how back in january of 2025 i was over 22% body fat and then by september i got down to under 9% currently working on bulking phase at the moment but a big part of that as many of you know you see me drinking on camera a good amount of the time has been huell they've stayed a core part of my journey having them a couple of times a week because Love of a man is all about efficiency.

And thanks for sponsoring this video. Awesome, Joe. Would you prefer to the movie with a continuation of the hospital on the same night, just like the original, instead of what we had when the explanations being revealed way too soon in this movie or even at all?
Starting point is 00:13:44 I don't get the question. Do you get it? You're just whispering to yourself. What we had with the explanations being revealed. Oh, you're saying instead of what we had revealed too soon in this movie. Preparated the movie was a continuation of the hospital in the same night. Just like the original. They're saying, do we wish that the second movie here was like the original?
Starting point is 00:14:14 second Halloween movie? No. I just wish that I liked the movie better. Yeah, yeah. And I didn't, I think the explanations, they didn't bug me that much, but I do think there's a better way to go about the story, obviously, to make it a little more entertaining. What explanations are being revealed too soon in this movie? I don't know what he's referring to. So she's in the hospital. Michael.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Like the White Horse stuff? for you talking about? Oh, maybe But that took a long time to kind of get to. Yeah. I didn't really feel like there were many reveals in this movie. Oh, he might be talking about the when she goes to see the therapist right at the top and they talk
Starting point is 00:14:57 about the white horse. Maybe that's what you're talking about, Awesome, Joe. Sorry, Awesome Joe. You can explain you to us. I tried to answer. Ask us again for next movie. Leon Zero3. Would you have preferred if the movie was a continuation of the hospital on the same night, just like the
Starting point is 00:15:13 original. Didn't I just read that? What we have with explanations being revealed. Wait, scroll up. Let's scroll up. Oh, they copied and pasted. So sorry. I don't know if that was from Leon 3 or Awesome Joe. Whoever put these questions in wrote the wrong thing.
Starting point is 00:15:28 So Leon 3, let's do this question from you. Sorry to Awesome Joe or Leon 3, whoever that was. Shout out to both you guys. This one is from Leon 3, though. Leon 3, do y'all think Loomis redeemed himself at the end? No. no not not at all he I mean he's like I get it I just want to be here to help but he didn't really do anything the old Loomis I think he would have been smarter about it I think instead of just opening the door and talking to Lori I think he would have tried to talk to Michael and been a psychiatrist and said like Michael because when you see we've seen it in other movies even though I get it's different timelines that like when he talks to him as though he's like a child because he's still cuckoo bananas up here
Starting point is 00:16:18 that Michael kind of calms down and listens to him but he was just sort of yelling at Lori to like get up no one's on you and I'm like I feel like the old Loomis would have grabbed her or like tackled Michael I feel like he would have done something I agree either talk to Michael or grab Lori yeah absolutely instead of just saying there's no one holding you down I'm like well then freaking grab her also what are we doing there with a gun? Yeah, yeah, or I'll grab a weapon, a piece of wood. Like, Loomis was, like, back, I mean, in the earlier movies, he was pretty, like, resourceful. I have to say, Anthony Hopkins didn't do his best in this. He did. Just kidding. Probably why it's not on his resume. You took it off.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Joke, joke, don't crush your body. Okay. What does we do? The fun surface, then. Yeah, let's go. Why is it? Oh, that's how they qualify your questions? Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:12 I guess, yeah. That's hysterical. Residency. My favorite horror duo. I went to you and you went to here. Do you know what people think I'm madly in love with you because how much I look at you during the movies? Every comment says.
Starting point is 00:17:28 I'm like, yep, hell yeah, I am. It's part of the fun for me of watching you and watching you watch things and watching them. It's like a great... Like, look at home angled right now. I never saw this movie. My first time... time will be a watchdog with you too that's awesome i've seen a few rob zombie movies and while i do
Starting point is 00:17:48 like his style i often don't like how his characters are written usually unlikable my question is his style enough to make up for the substance um how you feel about that i i would say like you know sort of yeah i'm like i'm a gearing towards a yes because of his like his sensibilities was like he's got handheld camera he's got some cool drone shots he dealed with lighting a lot there's cool practical effects there is a lot of blood we did get to see some really grotesque hardcore kills then there was some we didn't see at all um so i think that the the style i think is somewhat enough but by the way that i'm feeling now at the end of this movie i would never go this is one of my favorite halloweons you should absolutely watch it so i don't
Starting point is 00:18:42 know if it fully makes up for it because I'm not going to run around and tell people this was the best movie. What's weird is that I really like the first Rob Zombie Halloween movie. So it more than made up for that one for me. For this one, I still think the style is dope in this movie. The best part of the movie is the style. It didn't make up for the plot lacking for me. Yeah. I hope that you prefer it more than I did, residency. Because I also like Rob Zombie and I think that he takes big swings. I just think that this didn't turn out the way that I was hoping
Starting point is 00:19:15 for. Which is probably because the fights with the Weinsteen. Yeah. Well, thank you to our patrons. Appreciate you guys so much for asking those questions. We are making our way through the rest of this franchise. Tara, do you know how many movies we have left? No.
Starting point is 00:19:31 I either do I. Like, there was one time where I was like, we have two more left. You're like, there's 13. I was like, what? So I don't know. We have no idea where we are. But I do know that we are more than halfway through. Yeah. So what we need from you guys is to start recommending other franchises.
Starting point is 00:19:47 What's going to be our next one? Let us know in the comments. Tell us. Anything else, do you got to tell the people? Yeah, man. Didn't hate the movie, but definitely thought, you know, the plot could have been better. I like some of the practical stuff we saw and some of the kills. And there's still really great parts of this movie that make it a cool film.
Starting point is 00:20:07 That's it. I agree, per usual. later rejects Arc Raiders a multiplayer extraction adventure video game set in a lethal yet vibrant future earth as a raider scavenging the remnants of a derelict world you settle into an underground settlement
Starting point is 00:20:28 hoping to thrive you jump on the chance to start over but doing so means you must return to the surface where arc machines roam and survivors' motives remain dangerously unclear but if you're brave enough Who knows what you might find?
