Roxy Striar & Tara Erickson dive into the cult-favorite slasher sequel Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995), the sixth installment in John Carpenter’s legendary Halloween franchise. Directed by Joe Chappelle, the film continues the terrifying saga of Michael Myers, now tied to the mysterious Cult of Thorn mythology. Picking up years after the events of Halloween 5, Michael stalks the Strodes once again, and this time the evil feels darker, stranger, and bloodier than ever. The film stars Donald Pleasence (Halloween, You Only Live Twice) in his final appearance as the iconic Dr. Sam Loomis, determined to stop Michael at any cost. Paul Rudd (Ant-Man, Clueless) in one of his earliest roles plays Tommy Doyle, the grown-up survivor from the original Halloween, now obsessed with uncovering Michael’s secrets. Marianne Hagan (Stake Land) portrays Kara Strode, cousin to Laurie Strode, who becomes entangled in Michael’s reign of terror along with her young son Danny (Devin Gardner). George P. Wilbur reprises his role as Michael Myers, embodying the unstoppable masked killer once more. Famous and highly discussed moments from the film include the shocking hospital massacre sequence, the eerie reveal of the Cult of Thorn, and the tense showdown between Tommy Doyle and Michael using runic symbols to subdue the Boogeyman. Fans still debate the differences between the Theatrical Cut and the infamous Producer’s Cut, with alternate endings and deeper cult mythology making this one of the most dissected entries in the Halloween franchise. Thank you to Huell for sponsoring this video.
More on them in just a bit.
Happy Horror, Thursday, to all you guys.
You've almost made it to the weekend, and that is not a curse.
But this is, shall we watch, Halloween the curse of Michael Myers, Halloween 6?
Let's do it.
Count us in.
Three, two, one.
There we go.
Oh, in memory of...
So this was his last one.
Sorry about that, Donald.
We just watched.
Watched Halloween 6th, The Curse of Michael Myers.
Thank you so much to the patrons who have submitted questions.
We're going to get right to them.
But we would love for you as to do us a couple of things.
If you're on Apple, Spotify, 5 star, YouTube thumbs up.
Shout out to Prepper for helping us edit this down, especially for these horror movies.
It could be very challenging, although this horror movie did eliminate a lot of the actual kills and horror.
Yeah, it did.
They still have their work cut out for them.
And if you're not already following us on social at Real Rejects, that's where all the juices, as my girl Tara says.
All right, we're going to get right into this.
We're going to take the patron questions
because I'm really curious to see what they have to ask us
about this movie that was bazonkers.
So here we go.
Hesena Ali, this movie marks the final appearance
of Donald Pleasance as Dr. Loomis.
Oh, I thought that he was...
Oh.
I thought he was Michael.
Right.
You did it too?
Yes.
Okay.
Oh, no.
He's such a good actor.
As Dr. Loomis before his death,
what did you think of his character in the franchise?
Wow, that's interesting
Every time it says I'm with Donald Pleasant
And yeah, he was
noticeably getting older in these
And wiser
Making really good choices
Like as an actor, I really
I really appreciate his performance
I think that I had no idea
that Laurie Strode was not the star
Of this part of the franchise.
It was Loomis.
It was Loomis.
He was amazing.
And we have said that over the last few films
I think in the last one of the one before
I went like, Dr. Loomis is like our lead in multiple.
Like he was in, he was just in so much.
So, um, his character in the franchise is very much the core of the franchise.
So I am not surprised that it's very much in memory.
He's a great actor.
Um, and I don't think this franchise would have existed without him.
So.
RIP.
Yeah.
Angela Vance, do you like the fact that Michael Myers is being controlled by a
doctor this whole time and do you think
Paul Rudd was too young to play Tommy Doyle's part
all right let's try to break this down here
do you like the fact that Michael Myers was being controlled by a doctor
this whole time was that clear to you that wasn't clear
because I the doctor is the guy in all black
who we obviously he helped break Michael out in the last one
out of jail or whatever.
I don't know that he's being controlled
but or that it's just his buddy
or is the doctor being like you go kill
these people. I don't know.
Then we saw the fetus thing and now I'm thinking
we might have made honestly
we might have this stuff like
this script was all over the place. This script was all over
it was hard for me if you know where to put my attention.
Yeah.
I
if the fact that
Michael Myers was being controlled by a doctor
the whole time, that's weird to me.
I don't want, no, I don't think
that it wouldn't have worked for
the house, him going back
to where he killed his sister
and that he always kills on Halloween.
I doubt that the doctor is always telling
him, gotta get out on
Halloween, go back to the house, like
I don't know. I'm confused by the second question
too, how would Paul Rudd have been too
young to play Tommy Doyle's part? Last time he saw
Tommy was so young. Right.
And he looked, he looked, he
It's not like he looked, oh, too young.
No, he's not too young.
I thought they were going to say too old because Tommy Doyle was very young.
So I don't think so.
Okay.
We don't know.
Yeah.
I feel like we have a lot of heat for this one.
We probably will, but, you know, forgive us.
It just, when a movie doesn't pick, like, with the script, pick Elaine and
and smartly write it and take the characters there, it's, you lose.
sort of track and there's there's weird choices that I you can't come at me for for not saying like
he left the baby on the bed it's gonna roll off also the the lady pulls out a sheet rings it and
then puts it back in a full thing of water right and then there was another weird move with
something else so it's like if we get heat I'm just saying up over him to get to her son
thank you stepped over him to get to her son and she said don't move stay right there and I'm like
just tell him to run and jump over him.
Like, we got to get to hell out of here.
Like, I don't know what to me.
I'm stuck on, did you like the fact that Michael Myers
is being controlled by a doctor
and me and you look at each other like.
Like, what?
The whole time?
I don't like it.
I'm offended.
Like, what?
Because this question has now brought it to our attention.
I'm just laughing thinking about the fact that right before this.
Greg was talking about.
like, you know, because he's like, Tara, like, you know, your strengths.
If you don't understand it something, we're not in comedy.
I was thinking of myself, like, that was kind of a weird way to phrase it.
We understand everything.
Right, right.
We're watching horror movies.
We're never like not understanding it.
And this one, I'm like, maybe we didn't understand it.
I didn't, I mean, we realized that, yes, it was the doctor, the psychiatrist.
We get it that the psychiatrist killed Dr.
Loomis.
He's the guy in black who's had Michael.
Yeah, but I wouldn't say, because this story was.
such a mess, I didn't think
controlled by him the whole time.
I thought this is this movie's choice.
Reject Nation, at the start of this year,
I was sitting over 20% body fat,
218 pounds of his end of January.
As of a couple weeks ago, finally took the photos
I've been talking about it all year.
I completed the mission. Six-pack apps came in,
8% body fat, 170 pounds.
You could check out all the transformations on Instagram,
but that's not why I'm here today.
I'm here today to tell you that a big part of how I accomplished that journey
was about staying consistent with my nutrition.
And the best way to do this is by keeping things simple
like having a Hewell Black Edition ready to drink a complete meal in a bottle.
Have these a couple times a week.
That first crack.
It's always amazing.
It's a full meal in a bottle packed with 40 grams of protein.
27 vitamins and minerals, slow release carbs, low sugar, no prep, no cleanup.
Just shake it and go.
I've got a fridge full of these.
We got three fridges, and they're all full of them.
I'd like to grab them on shoot days, gym days.
Or I'm just too damn tired to cook, which is an often Greg thing.
But more importantly, they taste good.
Chopin and vanilla.
Classics are my go-toes.
Smooth taste like actual milkshake.
But they got a whole bunch of other flavors you can catch on their website.
Plus, it's under three bucks a meal, which has helped my gains and my budget.

Well time, Greg bottled.
Jaden Rhodes.
This was Paul Rudd's second movie, first being clueless, but I'm curious what y'all thought of him in this role.
A lot of people seem to find him miscasted.
I personally don't mind him.
I also find it cool to watch a movie like this in Cesar.
actors right before they hit it big here's my my one my one problem and then he also he smiled at
michael when he saw him and then went back to no smile and like let's keep hitting the door
that whole thing was wagadoo rocks i never that is i don't think of this as long as i've been on
this channel but this movie fucking saw
Oh my God, that's so funny.
And like, here's the thing.
I didn't mind him that much either, but there was so weird ass choices, dude.
Weird.
It was comically bad.
I, like, what was it?
And then he looked at him and then he smiled and then he didn't smile.
And then he hits the door.
Weird.
Listen, do I think he was miscast?
I don't know.
I don't think the role was written well.
I thought it was confusing.
I was like, is he going to be the bad guy?
Like, this guy's weird.
He's weird.
They made him weird.
He stands in the window like this.
And I'm like, I get it.
Okay, the kid's weird because Michael came after him as a kid.
Or like stranger things.
Like creepy in the window watching.
Listen.
And why was Miss B on in on the action?
Rocks?
We forgot about her.
Who the hell is Mrs. B?
He called her Miss B.
He lives with her.
And she's like, hi, honey.
She's also part of the.
Controlled by the doctor?
I guess she lands across the street on purpose.
I can't.
I can't.
We got to move on.
But, okay, I'll give Paul Rudd this.
I was so grateful that he was in it because he, I love him.
I love him.
More fun to watch.
No one Paul Rudd was around the corner.
Yeah.
And so we're with you at the end.
You're like, it's cool to watch a movie like this.
See actors right before they hit.
Yes.
Good times.
Brian Reed.
Do you think the cult storyline made Michael Scarier?
I do not.
Not at all. I wasn't. I got scared once by noise. That's it.
So no. No. Residency. She checks us. I'm unsure which cut of the film you two watched. Do you know what we watched?
We watched it theatrical. Okay. I'm going to assume the theatrical. But either way, this was not my favorite movie in the series. Thank you for being the first one to say that.
Yeah. We thought we were really, yeah. There were lots of rewrites which resulted in a bunch of blotles.
The producers cut, which included some reshoots and cuts was better overall,
but both versions I have issues with.
Even still, the kills and music were great.
My question is more about the production.
Could you tell there was a lot of interference with the movie during production?
Yes.
Absolutely.
I think we called it out during, for sure.
The holes in this script are.
It seemed like in the editing room, what happened was they didn't have coverage.
and so they just kept not showing us things.
Like, they were missing coverage of things.
So they like, like for kills, it would be like,
stroblight, stroblight, stroblight.
Yeah.
Like, what is he?
Like, did he just strength?
What happened?
I couldn't.
Yeah.
Because they didn't even show.
It was the podcaster guy in the truck.
And I was like, wait, what did he do?
They didn't, we didn't see that.
It's like, what you're saying, you're like, I enjoy the kills.
I did too.
Like the one guy's had exploded and that girl, she had the weird,
through her in the beginning.
up hanging people up. That was wild, but there was still a lot of kills that like we did not,
didn't get to really see. I would have preferred to see more. Do you have clarity on who the
woman in the beginning was? Woman in the beginning. I was killed. And she says, you can't have my baby?
We don't know. We must know. Come on. We must know. We got to know. Okay.
No, I don't.
Because Michael was going after them because part of the Strode family.
So she, but then why aren't they like where?
But then the baby was the guy that was connected to him that we saw who's now like a little kid, the blonde boy, Billy or whatever.
But his mom didn't die.
Did she adopt him?
I don't know.
I think I'm both underthinking it and overthinking it.
Totally.
Jay Rushden, the curse of Michael Myers, Dr. Loomis' name comes the movie, Dr. Loomis' name comes the movie Psycho.
I assume he means, I assume what you're saying, Jay, is that Dr. Loomis' name is in the movie Psycho, which the reenix, which we need to watch, question what's your favorite candy there?
Candy there.
What's our favorite candy here?
I assume Jay's from out of the USA.
But this is as confusing as the movie.
Comes the movie, Psycho.
But Psycho came out before this.
Oh.
Right?
I think you're right.
Okay, I'm not sure about that.
I don't know about that.
What's your favorite candy there?
Do you just mean maybe here?
Oh, so maybe, maybe then they pull Dr.
Loomis' name from Psycho because that's a huge horror.
And the favorite candy.
Sour Patch Kids.
Oh, that's a good one.
I like Reese's.
I also like Almond Joy, Snickers.
You like the chocolates.
I do, but I really like Sour Punch Straws.
Yeah, they're great.
All right, thank you.
Those are good.
Patrons, great questions.
I guess I honestly, last movie we watched five, and we liked it.
Yeah.
And then we went to the Patreon questions, and you guys were kind of shredding it.
Yeah.
And we were like, oh, yeah, I guess there was a lot of plot holes.
Right.
Then this time, I feel like we were shrews.
dreading it and then we came to the Patreon questions and y'all were like no still decent yeah except
one you were like there are obviously a bunch of plot holes yeah so I am curious what the general
consensus on this one is honestly like I hate when people say pretentious shit like this but like
to me this wasn't a movie like it wasn't like a full movie it was like a bunch of scenes and
characters that were like not stringing together fully maybe if I watch this again it would be a
little clearer and I can fill in the blank but like
I don't feel like the cult storyline fully made sense
and I don't feel like the objective of this movie landed with me
and I also am unclear on who is whose family members
who plays into what and I'm also super unclear on where is Lori
if she's not dead or like does she come back to life
the biggest thing you brought up is that they live
he is there's strode so he would know that
Laurie Stroh is in there and the brother killed her.
I would think, but like, maybe even mom didn't know that.
I don't know.
I don't know.
It's tough to say, man.
I want to ask you, do you have any final thoughts?
But I don't even.
Yo, this one was not for me.
It's, it was, it wasn't for me either.
Obviously, it was calling out a lot of things.
You know, the one thing that I did like, the lead girl that we both enjoyed her performance.
So good.
is like thank goodness she grabbed a weapon when she went in there and then she did hit him a few I like that they they made her hide behind the stairs she pushed him down the stairs that's a plus her son did a good job too her son did good um let's see they that those choices in this thank goodness because I didn't want to also be mad at like you're not giving the characters any fun hardcore like strong choices either um but there were some just not not enough not enough
I really didn't like that they made Paul Rudd's character
or leave the baby on the side of the bed.
I really don't like that Paul Rudd was in the kid's room.
The mom comes in and says, what are you doing in here?
He's carrying a baby and she doesn't even ask about it.
That was so weird.
That just, that's all.
These are little things that any producer or director or even co-director,
co-producer would go
she's he has a baby
aren't we gonna we gotta have
something there like what's the deal with the kid
you have a kid now like call it
out somehow and also she was
in there when he laid the baby on the bed
she has a kid this girl's name is
Marianne Hagan she should have worked way more
she was in one episode of friends
she she still shoots but like
I've never heard of any of the things she's in other than this
and she was really good
she was good I appreciate it
What was the little boy's name?
I don't know.
Okay.
Whoever he was, I thought he did a good job.
I don't.
Is it Tim?
Maybe.
I don't remember his name being Tim.
Is it Tim?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Those are my thoughts.
It's not the worst movie in the world, but like it wasn't a favorite.
You know, those are the small like pluses that I'll give the movie.
and some of the kills, yes, but the rest of it, it needs help.
This is to the Rejignation.
That's all we have for you today.
We'll see you next Thursday for whatever Halloween brings us next.
Wish us luck.
Go get your Halloween sweater.
Yeah.
