Okay. Um, hmm, hmm, hmm. Uh, permission to be brutally honest. Yeah, do it. This was an interesting swing that Humphrey was mentioning. I get what they were trying to say. But unfortunately, it didn't execute in the way I liked it because in a way I really

missed Michael Myers for joining the movie. Were they just trying to make it sexier? Like with a little, you know? Like the young romance and with the two broken individuals. And then I think like, are they trying to peak your interest by going like maybe there's going to be somebody else? Right. Yeah.

I like the idea that it's not like they tried to do that. That's the whole reason why the original like sequels didn't do well because they tried to do an anthology series and say like, oh, the evil is something else. And it didn't work. And that's why they're coming back with Halloween 2018. So why are you going back to trying that again? I don't know. Yeah.

Sorry, I'm being really mean. No, no, no. It's okay. I think you. No, yeah. I mean, don't get me wrong. It was still somewhat entertaining. it's not a bad film by any means.

I just didn't, I didn't like the choices they made with the writing. It was a little strange. They're trying to, they made it, it seemed as if this is how I interpreted or how I felt about it. They try to make you feel for Corey.

And it is a, Corey was a, he's a victim of the circumstance of, of just crazy, you know, events that has happened. Like with the kid that he didn't, he,

unfortunately accidentally killed you know through you know allegedly allegedly and so it's even then it's like and then from there yeah he's anyone would be traumatized but it just i didn't really empathize evil at the end so is the lesson that oh no we shouldn't have you know right yeah so what the heck guys it's a lot of the a lot of the writing i didn't or just yeah the sorry you know i i feel like the like i i would have liked cori a little bit better if maybe as as as it's you know you as a villain, he was just trying to be a copycat. But what the fuck with that in the sewers where like we saw his life flash like that? I just felt a little like tacky.

I don't know. Yes, I agree. And then it also wasn't like properly explained. So I don't know. Definitely. There was like yeah, I thought it was like some super natural transference. And like Halloween seemed really grounded to a certain degree other than like Michael Myers being superhuman.

But like yeah, he being a slasher and just who's really strong. and then this like I don't know if it's again there's this like voodoo possession type of stuff I got it eventually I guess they didn't really do that but like you they were like wrestling over like who gets to be Michael yeah like that fight in the sewer like what are they doing like at first I thought I like literally the thought crossed my mind where I was like oh is he training him how to fight right right he's like a teacher it's like a moulon you know that's rocky that's rocky uh it's the be a man you must be swept out of the boss in me of us um no yeah but otherwise it it was cool it that's yeah it was i'm being as generous as i possibly can be the final fight

scene was cool yeah you have to be the good cop because i've been really mean during the whole that's fair um no i i don't i don't have a very high pain tolerance guys so i'm sorry i'm sorry that i wasn't my normal it's okay my normal self today please forgive me Yeah, Jackie's neck is not the best right now. But otherwise, it was... Michael got me. It was cool. It was all right.

Like, I had some fun. It was kind of funny. It was funny. But my favorite funny part was that I did think it was... That I did think it was going to be... Michael Myers spooning Corey Cunningham on the motorcycle. I mean, yeah, that would have been cool. I don't know.

Like, I think even that much of a swing would have been a little cooler. I don't know. Otherwise. Yeah, if you're going to swing, go full camp. No, exactly. I agree. But, yeah, again, they try to make the, the high schoolers really, like, and again, there were mean.

Yeah. I get, I like the idea that the whole town turned evil because of, like that I did like. I did like, but then don't add like a, I like the copycat idea. Yeah, I like that's really cool and really. interesting, I think. Right, right, right, right. But it was just, and then Michael's still been alive and living in the sewers, but why hasn't he been killing for 40? Like, I don't understand. Right, right, right, right. And then he's, yeah, I think your, your premise of like a copycat, and then Michael comes back and be like, no, you ain't shit. And then. Because maybe, yeah, if, like,

you could have the copycat killing and then we just see like, oh my God, like in the, at the end of the second act in the movie, we see from, like, the death reporting. Like, maybe, like, there's a newspaper. Wait, guys, I'm, I'm writing something. Yeah. So there's a newspaper that It goes like the fifth mysterious death. And then we see the newspaper. It's like going. And then it goes into the sewer. And it hits something.

And then it blows off and it looks. It's the mask. And then he goes. Yeah. And then like that like the evil of the town brings him back to life. That's cool. Yeah. I actually like that.

Get Mr. Blum on the phone. Yeah, exactly. Blum House. Are you listening? Blumhouse. Are you listening? And don't take my idea. Definitely.

Or my dad, I miss to you. My dad, Greg. Otherwise, no, I had fun, but I know you've already shared a lot of your things, but like, yeah, what was your overall kind of impression? It made me, like, the last, sorry, it made me think Halloween kills. It made me respect it more. Oh, interesting. I, yeah, I think I, like, yeah.

There was no Corey in the Hollywood kills. Exactly. What do I think? I really like the setup of the film. I love the life that Jamie Lee Curtis and how she's trying to move past the grief and she has the house with her granddaughter. And I really love that they have those recurring characters that by the way, we're the same actors as the original Lindsay and I can't remember the other guys. Yeah, yeah. I love that.

I love that. I felt like it was a really awesome swing. They really got us in the beginning. I thought the first scene was great, like establishing Corey. I thought that was like fantastic. I was hooked. Yeah. And then they just couldn't quite land the plane.

Yeah. I don't know. I was disappointed. I wanted to like it more. But yeah, every time we were with Corey and Allison, I was just like,

Sean, oh. Yeah, like that romance kind of didn't work for me. Yeah. What's so strange is as much as this is an obvious,

I just think Allison's smarter than that. It pissed me off. Yes, yeah. She seemed very smart and likable the first two movies. I would have liked if she was more reminiscent

of like young Jamie. Like I don't really care much about the boys. Like I'm doing my school work. I'm doing being a good babysitter and I'm like going to be a final girl. Like she was kind of, Right. Kind of dumb and I just don't think she's dumb.

No, definitely. And they kind of rate her. She already dated the asshole. Like why are she dating? Like then she dating a like a like then both of her boyfriend suck. I don't know. That's fair. No, yeah.

The first boyfriend from the earlier movies was that cheater. Yeah. The cop sucked. Corey sucked. Give her a break. Yeah. She was a cooler character for sure. Give her a goddamn break.

In 2018 and then kills. Yeah. But yeah, I didn't. It's so weird. I was rooting for Michael. which is a weird thing I know but I wanted Michael more than Corey yeah so all right really quick you want to get to some questions

Personally, it fell a bit flat and far too bloated compared to what I thought it needed to be. I'm interested to hear what you two think.

Yeah. But I agree that the movie was too bloated. What do you think? No, I agree with Dewey. Fell flat. I would agree. Not a really satisfying ending. It deserves better.

But I agree with you. The final fight was cool. So anytime Michael was on screen, other than the fight with Corey in the little in the sewer. Like, even that was kind of, strange. But yeah, I was looking forward to seeing Michael again. The twists at the end were good.

Like, it really upset me in the moment, but her opening the door and going, did you really think I was going to blank myself? Yeah, yeah. That was actually pretty cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I didn't understand why she didn't kill him. But I know I did understand. It was very complicated. And that's why he stopped something and blah, blah, blah, blah. Right, right, right. No, definitely. Yeah.

But, yeah, that's. All right. Jaden Rhodes. I'm curious how y'all rank these movies and what's y'all's opinion on Corey Cunningham. In my opinion, he easily ruined the series. Laurie should be our main character. Yes, I'll keep it short, but I honestly could talk hours about how this movie ruins

a franchise and Michael Myers. Jayden, I want to watch your video. Yeah, no, definitely. I would watch your dissertation for sure. Oh, I think I have an interesting order of rain. Oh, okay. Halloween 2018 is top for me. Okay.

Except the four. final scene of yeah that's how we kill michael um yeah uh i agree with the fact that lorry should have been the main character and so had so should so should michael but it should have just been them too and again it's these two iconic characters and they're supposed to have this like showdown

like like imagine mike tyson fights mohammed ali that'd be a cool like dream thing it just didn't work that way like it didn't go out but otherwise how do you rank them same no same as you Same as me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, no, I'd probably put the first one on top, mainly because it's iconic. Yeah, exactly. That's fair. But ask me another day, it'd probably switch.

I know. I was just very impressed because sequels are so hard, especially after that long. And I thought it was just so well executed. The first one I really, really, really loved. I thought all the arcs made sense. And I loved that they brought back the original actors. I just think that that's such a beautiful and nice touch. Like, even talking about it from not a narrative,

but from a production standpoint. Yeah. That felt very, very respectful to those kind of no-name actors that made this franchise into what it was. It's just a very, it's very classy. Definitely. That's a classy move and them including them. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
