Starting point is 00:02:17 There's a 20th anniversary special or something. When like really soon? Yeah, it comes out on Tuesday or something. So we can't watch like the whole TV show on the channel and then watch that. It'll be too late. And now it makes you want to watch the whole show. I just don't know what to do. Well, guys.

Starting point is 00:03:25 We've done some Disney movies before. I know. That was a, oh, damn, we got some questions. Oh, well, I was like three or four. That was surprisingly good time. That was so much fun. Like, okay, we had so much fun watching. High School Musical.

Starting point is 00:03:40 Thank you. High School Musical. A ton of fun. I'm not going to lie. I love the songs and the music and the way this comedy was written in this movie specifically a little bit more.

Starting point is 00:03:53 And now I'm like dying. I mean, we watched high school years ago. So like I love high school musical. Let's say it's on the same par. But like this was so much fun and it really makes me want to watch a show. But I'm very also excited about the 20th anniversary.

Starting point is 00:04:09 Like I can't wait. Yeah. I don't know what the 20th anniversary. is if it's the 20th anniversary of this movie or just the whole legacy it's like the same movie i think it's i don't know what it is i think it's a whole new one i have no idea yeah i have no idea we'll see i all i've ever heard from mily cyrus or like i'm not even from mildly cyrus's mouth directly i've just heard like a little rumblings throughout i have no idea what's true and what isn't you know just like it seems like there was a bit of a weird contentious relationship and then she tried really absolving her image of the Disney Channel thing,

Starting point is 00:04:46 and that's why she became like, freaking the mildest, IRIS we know. Really? Yeah, see, I don't know. I'm literally just speaking off of conjecture, just random stuff I've heard. Like, I have no idea what's true. So the fact that she's coming back for the 20th special, like, oh, okay, maybe it wasn't, maybe she looks back on it fondly. Right.

Starting point is 00:05:03 And not as a thing that I have no clue. I don't know either. All I can do is speak to this movie as a man who's never seen any of Hanamai. Montana. That was pleasantly enjoyable. That was so fun. I like a good simple message movie about getting in touch with their roots, not losing sight of who you are, knowing what your values are, taking accountability, having self-acceptance,

Starting point is 00:05:27 all those kinds of themes that are woven in to a good old Southern tale. This is like a Reese Witherspoon type of plot. Yeah. Like, oh, you Southern Girl went to L.A. on us. Now you get back to who you were at your heart. Exactly. Like you said also, Nicholas Fulner. Marks.

Starting point is 00:05:42 Yeah, you know, you got to love a good story like that. And I thought the acting was good. Me too, great. Surprisingly good. The songs were awesome. So good. It was surprisingly funny. It's a bit odd and a little funnily disjointed, but in all ways that compliment

Starting point is 00:06:01 the experience, like a good Disney movie ought to do. What was your favorite song here? Oh, God. I want to say it's the climb. there was another one. Not too obvious. There was a, okay, we, wait, I have to ask if the song at the very end

Starting point is 00:06:19 is the title song to Hannah Montana because that song's great, but there was another one that was singing to, but I don't, I was singing it. I don't know. It was in the middle. I loved all the songs, but she sang. What are you saying? The caterpillar, butterfly, butterfly, fly away,

Starting point is 00:06:37 that song. That's a good one. I have to ask, is the last song in the Hannah Montana movie, I'm going to ask. What you're asking? It must obviously be from this movie. It's too ingrained in the screenplay. In the Hannah Montana movie. The opening?

Starting point is 00:06:52 The title song. Why don't you just look up what the title song is from Hannah Montana? Instead of typing an unnecessarily long question. No, the last song in the Hannah Montana, the movie is not the show's theme song. The movie ends with you always find your way back home, which is co-written by Taylor Swift. The theme song to the TV show is the best of both. World, which is included on the movies. Get the best of both worlds.

Starting point is 00:07:15 Included on the movie soundtrack, but it's not the final song in the film. Wow. Don't they play best of both worlds here? They might. No, yeah, no. It's when she gets on the stage at the very beginning. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right.

Starting point is 00:07:28 You're not a real Hannah Montana fan. Co-written by Taylor. So we have to watch the show now. They must be friends in real life. Oh, my God. What if she's in the show? Starting point is 00:07:45 Okay, hold on. We're getting there. You ask great questions. No, she did not. She did make a cameo appearance in the film. Yes, we know that. Okay. Ask, is Taylor Swift playing a person who looks like Taylor Swift?

Starting point is 00:07:59 Or are she playing Taylor Swift in the movie? Is Taylor Swift playing someone who looks like Taylor Swift in the movie? Or she actually just playing herself? They're going to be like, she was credited as Taylor Swift. I bet. She appears as a guest, oh my God, as a guest country singer who performs her original song, crazier, and she's actually playing herself. Okay.

Starting point is 00:08:23 So she plays herself. And the, so in this universe of Hannah Montana, yes. They freak out when Hannah Montana shows up, but not when Taylor Swift shows up? Yeah. Wow. This really is a work of fiction. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:08:37 Yeah. Totally. I love when she reveals herself to the crowd. most of the crowd's like what you had a wig on I don't understand the context here what's that stake for you

Starting point is 00:08:52 lady I love to put yourself in the audience member's shoes what's the big deal the callback was the best when the little girl goes like be Hannah we'll keep your secret

Starting point is 00:09:07 like you could be both because when they did that carousel in the door. I was like the music touch was great in that and she's holding her wig and you're like, oh this metaphor of her circling between these two different lives. I just thought it was so great and I love the callback

Starting point is 00:09:26 with the little girl and like how much Hannah Montana brings joy to people's lives. It's not just always chaos and complication. It's like Hannah Montana does bring a lot of joy and stuff to people's lives so it's not like, oh, you can't be yourself, Miley. and then just like forget about Hannah

Starting point is 00:09:44 because it's like, no, Hannah adds good stuff too. And that's the exact same thing about T. Swift. Wow. That she talked about in the big concert. Crazy. That's crazy. Now I'm really just loving this whole world and I want to live inside of Hannah Montana.

Starting point is 00:10:04 The world. I'm taking the wrong way. And the world. I guess before we get to some questions here from our patrons, there was like other people, here that I'm pretty sure in the show who don't really get much screen time like the guy in the cake

Starting point is 00:10:18 oh yeah he's probably in the show yeah the guy with a long hair right and probably your grandma's in the show maybe I know Billy Ray's I mean the grandma lives here in in this city and oh yeah she might not be in it you're right but Billy Ray and Hannah are the main

Starting point is 00:10:34 ones and Lily's the other main one right that's what you want to me to ask is do do Hannah Montana and the Lily, do they get along as actors on the TV show? You don't know how to ask it a question. I hope artificial intelligence knows what you're trying to ask it. They have a complicated, shut up, it understood.

Starting point is 00:10:58 They have a complicated relationship. Though they played best friends on screen, they often struggled to get along behind the scenes, particularly during the early seasons. It shows. So there was initial tension. they couldn't figure out how to get along. They felt competitive.

Starting point is 00:11:16 They also just, but they also described their bond as being like sisters. So they noted that they love each other, but they also fought like sisters. And then Emily, who I believe is the actress, later reflected that balancing the show's sudden massive success with a normal high school life was a disaster. And that strained their relationship. Yeah. Okay. In 2020, Miley hosted Emily on her Instagram live show, bright-minded, calling her an on-and-off-screen badass friend. So that must mean that they were actually legitimate good friends.

Starting point is 00:11:52 She brought her onto the show. So they're not best friends today, but like they still support each other in a professional friendly respect. I love to hear it. This is all good news. Yep. And all right. Let's read some questions. Sallow Smith, Sanchez.

Starting point is 00:12:09 Chas. Hi, Grara. I hope you guys are having a good day so far. I'm excited to watch this with you. I hope you like it. This movie is so nostalgic for me. I was literally re-learning the ho-down throwdown with my co-workers last week. So this is a welcome surprise. That's what Greg wants to do for his birthday. Lull. What song hit you the most emotionally on this watch? For me personally is it's the climb. Yeah. Makes me cry every time. And be honest, are you attempting to dance after this? Not after it's the climb, but after the ho-down throw-down, yes, I am. My birthday is in six months from now. Six months from now, I will know the ho-down throw-down. Yeah, you will.

Starting point is 00:12:59 I'm going to know every move, every lyric. And my wife might finally look at me in the eyes. I one can only hope I think we should record us learning it and then release the video I prefer perfection I don't like people to see

Starting point is 00:13:17 I'm a work in progress people of BTS yeah they're a good K-pop band I have my favorite song in here I think the butterfly song is the most emotional one to me I thought that one that one's that one's I mean

Starting point is 00:13:30 the climb one is just like to that exceeds this movie yeah it does I didn't get what you you think you thought I was mocking you or something. I was like, oh, we did this real movie song? Yeah. That was a great moment for sure.

Starting point is 00:13:44 That whole ending some. I mean, in terms of the movie, it's the ending song. That is like really good. Totally. And I loved how they wrote it in the writing, which is why I got excited when she first said it. And I was like, does that mean that that song came from this movie? I had no idea because I had almost never seen it. So it was very, very good.

Starting point is 00:14:02 Well, let's move on. Please. Flev Doran. This is another technically not DCOM classic. Very nostalgic for the DC fans, but as other DC, wait. Try to figure out what that means, what the DCOM is. You're saying DC fans.

Starting point is 00:14:19 Are you saying Disney Class? I think you're meaning Disney Classic. So you're saying, Disney Channel original movie. Thank you. Was criticized by non-fans. So at first I was like, this is the wrong question. You all watched a DC movie and I have to pre-read it.

Starting point is 00:14:33 Okay. So they were criticized by non-fans. So what is your opinion about the movie? What makes a great Disney original is the soundtrack? I absolutely agree. Criticized by non-fans. He didn't even know what it was. He loves this movie.

Starting point is 00:14:50 And I had only watched like two episodes of Hannah Montana, the TV show in my life, never watched the whole thing. So I just kind of knew. And I love this movie. So I don't know what those fans are talking about. I think these are the kind of movies that are like too cool for school, like when you're growing up, you know? Yeah. Brobes who were like, ugh, Zach Ephron, you know.

Starting point is 00:15:15 And you have to wait until you're in your, like, mid-30s before a guy, you can appreciate it. No, I mean, you got to, you got to know what you're walking into. And these are ones that you just go and have fun watching it. They're not boring, you know. they're sweet they're sentimental they're heartfelt there's a just enough creativity they're cliche but they're all so creative and yeah i think these are really fun i think they're a blast and i thought this one was just as fun i was i was really i was actually looking forward to watching this one even though i had now seen a single frame of the show or the movie i was i had a feeling this might be

Starting point is 00:15:54 a fun one and it surprised me by how enjoyable the songs were for some reason i was even though it's like oh hana montana singer i didn't expect original songs for some reason and i really enjoyed the songs a lot and i enjoyed this movie quite a bit and they had great songs of hers even still playing in the background like the montas when she's in the water or whatever also another like it was all really good music amen to that sister jaden rhodes this was a disney disney channel channel show they made a movie i do think it's one of the better ones, but I am curious. If you don't have seen some of the other movies at Disney Made and which one was y'all's

Starting point is 00:16:35 favorite, nothing will ever top high school musical for me. How have you not watched High School Musical with us? High School Musical is the best. I will never find anything better than that. I don't know. I really loved this one a lot. This one speaks more to your sensibilities. It does.

Starting point is 00:16:53 And your life and your roots. My failure. Your cannibal hillbilly lifestyle. Yeah. Yeah. So this speaks a lot more to you, you know? It's true. It's true.

Starting point is 00:17:03 I like to put people with a Southern accent in a box. And that's what the box is. No, in high school musical, we got some good ones. Camp Rock was enjoyable. Oh, yeah, I forgot about that one. Zombies was good. Ooh, Descendants was pretty awesome, actually. Did I watch that with you?

Starting point is 00:17:23 Yes, we saw four of them. Oh, God. ones with the Disney princess and the girl from the Wicked Play. Oh, my God. Oh, my God, I blacked out. Yes, I like, those were fun, but no, they did not have as good, well, did they sing in that? No, they did. Yes, they had amazing original songs.

Starting point is 00:17:42 And then they had the Ursula girl. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's all coming. God, those are like known for the songs. Listen, I did really like this sense. We have what you call recency bias. going on right now. You cannot truly rank these if you don't remember the other ones.

Starting point is 00:18:00 He's true. So don't ask me those they're coming in asking me and I'm going to tell you right now it's just going to be Hannah Montana. Yeah. That's the only one you remember right now. Guy. Okay. Yeah. Descendants, this and high school moves. Oh yeah. There's a lot of there's some pretty good ones, man. That's a pretty good ones.

Starting point is 00:18:19 There's a pretty good ones. I think, but can you guys leave in the comments if you think we should watch the show and we may not be able to do it or like have time or whatever but I want to we are not committing to it I know we can't we can't so don't get many seasons of television right now get mad at him if you don't see it because we have so much going on but I'm just saying like leave it in the comments if you think you'll really like it they probably would Tara read the last one okay Zayden this movie is so fun and nostalgic for me and love seeing more of Miley's personal life and Roos in this film and was a lot more emotional than I expected going in.

Starting point is 00:18:57 Do you have a favorite deep moment or dropping the mass scene or like the family reconciliations or something else that made you go, damn, that's deep for a Disney come. One of mine is the paint is painting the bar and reconnecting with herself. I adore you guys so happy you covered this one. Hmm. Damn, that's deep moment. For me, I already described it, but it's the, it's the turn. door and she has the music kicks in.

Starting point is 00:19:27 She has her wig and hand. The little girl is looking at her. And then the guy is in there looking at her and seeing who she has been lying about and who she is. And I thought that that was just with zero words. That's the scene right there. That I'm like, whoever did that and the storyboard and directed that? Good job.

Starting point is 00:19:47 I think it's when she first meets up with Travis again when he saves her horse. And she reminds him how she was hung down a well from him. Yeah. And then it showed me that if you psychologically abuse someone when you're younger, they'll come back and love you. They might grow attached to you to overcome their trauma. Hence why she was irrationally in love with him. And that's the only reason you have a wife?

Starting point is 00:20:16 Like what did you hang like off a cliff? Over a pit of lions. interesting because they love animals so I get that that's why she loves animals yeah I get that so yeah if there's one lesson to take from this kids it would be that it's that

Starting point is 00:20:32 I also really like I think the grandma interaction scenes are really yeah those are my favorite scenes the one in the mall not the not the mall the shopping center outdoor one when they're around all the old folk that was probably I don't remember any exact lines

Starting point is 00:20:47 but I remember being like oh dang this surprisingly touching and yeah unnuanced. Because when she threw down in her guard and she goes, listen, I don't mean to get into you right now but like you're putting up this like thing and this is your, you should be happy that you have a home like this to come back to.

Starting point is 00:21:03 Yeah. And I was like, yeah, you should. Yeah. Well, guys, we watched Hannah Montana the movie. What do you think about it?
