Starting point is 00:01:50 Blitz's. Oh. Because he was used as a child from. Yeah, this one worked for me. because I feel like any of the ones that are giving the backstories are really working for me and, like, finding out the jester's backstory with Blitz, it went so quick, but it still made it have so much more weight because we knew that he hated him from last season when they interacted and he kept calling him Blitz-O, and he's like, you know, you took the A-O off and then we did it this season

Starting point is 00:02:16 too, so it was, and we had heard that he hated him, and I just kept thinking, like, what could he have done it and that made sense and then he was able to help with that so yeah that that full circle makes me really think actually they had season two totally mapped out before season one yeah yeah because it lines up too well and this to me is that great blend of really fun meet something with a lot more depth i think it did a good meshable even to have like a fun song that's all about distracting this show or this episode this episode i think this episode is the best hybrid of the two things they usually go down one can be a lot more emotional and one could be a lot more wacky and this to me had the best blend of wacky and emotional i'm super with you i think greg we

Starting point is 00:03:00 have had we're on the same page for the entire show pretty much yeah yeah because this one uh again there's another character that surprised man didn't whenever the just character showed up he seemed like a one-note quirk that when we first cut to him at the beginning of this i was going all right how long are we going to be here for because this guy can be kind of annoying if we're with them for too long and they've managed to, I think they do a really good job at naturally

Starting point is 00:03:28 pulling back the layers on characters to the point where it doesn't feel like they're rewriting the characters. They're expanding on them in a way that actually fits without it being like oh, we're doing a complete 180 on who they are. They always feel like the same person

Starting point is 00:03:44 at the end of the day. Yep, it's not like they're retconning things. That's the word. Yeah, I totally feel you. They're like, this person that you think you might not like, actually, let's go into why they are the way that they are. And it's not taking away from what the story they've already told us. It's adding layers to make us understand more. So, yeah, I'm super into this season so far. A couple questions for you.

Starting point is 00:04:08 Number one, because we're halfway through this season. Compared to season one, where is this landing for you right now? I feel like it'll probably be stronger. Stronger? I think for the most part, yeah. Who are you, who's your favorite character in the season? This season? Yeah, it's different than last season, right?

Starting point is 00:04:25 Because we're getting a little bit less of Millian Moxie. The first season seemed to kind of just focus on the imp group. Right. I was doing his Blitz right now. The way they utilize Blitz as a supporting character, but consistently expanding on who he is as a character throughout the other characters taking the lead, has been really well done. He's been my personal favorite.

Starting point is 00:04:48 What about yourself? I think Stolus. Stolus, okay, yeah. Like, I love Blitz also, but Stolus to me during season one was very one note. Oh, okay. And just because, like, he loved Blitz and wanted to get boned by Blitz and just wanted Blitz. And I'll go with you Blitz wherever you want. And yes, I love Blitz.

Starting point is 00:05:07 And we saw him cheating on his wife and I didn't understand why, but trying to be a good dad. And I was like, what's going on here? And then this, I'm just like... learning about his dad and learning what had happened and then seeing why he's into Blitz. And yeah, I just loved his journey in this season. I love him. And season one, I think my favorite character was Millie.

Starting point is 00:05:34 First it was Moxie, then it was Millie. And now, yeah, I think it's Stolas. That's cool that my favorite character keeps changing. Yeah. And I would say Stolos and Blitz are probably the two main leads. and I think they do a really good job of making you understand the push and pull

Starting point is 00:05:51 on their dynamics. Did you think that season one that they were the main leads? Yeah, I think they were. I felt like Blitz was the lead in one. I think Stolus, I don't know the fan base on this. If I were to take a guess, I would say Blitz is the lead

Starting point is 00:06:07 but Stolus is the real star to a lot of people. Oh, really? That would be the impression. In one and two? Yeah, the way how like, um, In Hasman Hotel, there's, you know, Charlie Morningstar is the main character, but everyone talks about, oh my God, I totally like that's name. Alistair.

Starting point is 00:06:26 Alistair is like the star, but Charlie's the lead. And I would kind of say this, I would imagine it's something kind of similar with this one. Yeah. Yeah, I hear you in that. Okay. Yeah, I'm super, it's like we had a couple episodes where I was like, I don't care as much about it. But this episode did a great job of bringing me back. in general, I think that this is elevated

Starting point is 00:06:46 from last season. Whenever we shoot the second half of this, I'm like amped for it. Yeah, and the songs have been consistently really good, too. They've been very engaging songs. Yeah, I'm super with you. I'm going to just make sure because I don't know if we actually put out questions for this. There's a lot

Starting point is 00:07:03 of different moving pieces behind the scenes here, and sometimes I lose track of my own management skills, and I don't know if we actually put out some. You got a lot going on, dude. Let me see. There we go. We did put out some Okay. All right.

Starting point is 00:07:35 character second like in Hasman Hotel or the characters focused first plot secondary like in hell of a boss? How did they bring it down? Big overarching. Plot first character second and has been I don't feel like that's what has been did It's been a long time since I've seen has been so I can't really comment on that Oh, I think it's because Hell of a boss doesn't have a clear overarching plot Whereas Hasman Hotel introduces a clear overarching plot of like heaven and hell and what they got to do with this hotel

Starting point is 00:08:14 You mean full season, I guess. Like, I feel like in hell of a every episode has an arching plot. Yeah, but it's not really like laid out of where exactly is this plot going. We're kind of just watching things unfold via through characters. Totally. In general, it has been a minute since we watch Hasbun, but I prefer, Hasbin is like, has me by the throat. I love Hasbin. But I wouldn't say that's because it's plot first, character, second.

Starting point is 00:08:42 I'm a character-driven fan. So I typically, because I love television so much, you kind of have to be a character-first person. I think a lot of people who love movies or plot first. A lot of people love TV or characters first because you just get to live with them for so much longer. So typically I'm character-first. Well, I think how a boss has a little bit more episodes

Starting point is 00:09:04 that sometimes advance the plot, but weirdly don't feel as character-driven. They could just be kind of fun. whereas Hasman I think because it was an Amazon show they had to be a lot more particular so every episode was very character-driven you write you write so yeah do you have a preference

Starting point is 00:09:21 yeah character focus first and letting that dictate the plot I think it's really engaging Greg twinning today twinning you know the difference between you and me um Janet's apart Real Talk Reject Nation as many of you know this year

That and... you haven't punched me yet because of genital parts it'll register differently it won't be the same I was going to Jay rushed it question what you think musical number are they better than the first season there there hasn't been a musical number yet that because the first season had a couple that were like that the one with uh moxie and blitz that was like beauty and the beast meets It's a type of psychedelic trip.

Starting point is 00:11:41 That was so good. The one with the stars with Stolus. They've had ones that have just packed so much more meaning and weight. These have been more, these have been consistently fun, but I don't think any of them have come close to topping the impact of those other ones. Also, a lot of the songs in this one are in the background are people aren't singing them. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:12:02 And they're a little bit more, this ones are more, just more comedy leaning. Bless you. Yeah, like the one we just, it's not like the one we just listen to is one that I'm like, I want to listen to that every morning when I wake up, but it was so fun. Yeah, they're so catchy.

Starting point is 00:12:14 They're still fun. A lot of the same type. There's a type of joke, which is, like, pointing out the self-awareness of the present moment. It's very much like how Seth Rogen humor used to be just acknowledging, like, the reality of the situation. Have you ever seen the play Avenue Q? Is that with the puppets? Yes. I've heard the soundtrack.

Starting point is 00:12:33 Okay. This is kind of reminding me of that, where a lot of their songs, it's like, it's very well done. but it's like they're all it's a joke it's a big joke yeah they're funny sexual yeah juvenile irreverent i went to go see it on broadway with my girl scout troupe that's a good girl scout trip right there really was properly advertised kathen thurmond uh so happy you guys are watching this season one is great season two is where they get comfortable kick it to an amazing level who's your favorite character i mean who would you say your overall favorite character is though probably my overall favorite still would be milly because i just think that she is like so reliable

Starting point is 00:13:17 i love the kind of wife she is yeah and that's like how what i aspire to be i guess is milly yeah yeah who's yours i mean it's selfishly it is blitz there's just something about blitz or i just Humor always works for me. Why is it selfishly? I don't know why I said selfishly because I chose him already for my other answer. Oh. But yeah, I mean, Catherine, I had another question about who your favorite couple is. But I would like to elaborate more on that because there is a lot of conversation about coupling in this season more than I expected.

Starting point is 00:13:53 That's one thing I liked with as a mandos, Azimondos. I've got to pronounce his name, the Luskod. Ozymandias, right? Maybe. Okay. is that that's another one where I wasn't expecting to peel back a layer there and have you care about them and then we did that we did and that was really heartfelt but yeah with terms of Millie and Moxie Osmodius Osmodius sounds more correct Millie and Moxie are are like couple goals they really are and this is the first time we saw it and have like a real conflict but even then the way they resolve was like yeah that's how they resolve I'm not just saying this but honestly million moxie are kind of Greg and Olivia coded

Starting point is 00:14:35 I think so yeah I think I am the softness it's not it's not about the softness it's just like you guys are fiercely loyal to each other and also I think she would genuinely stab somebody if they've F with you yeah that's her thing yeah like right

Starting point is 00:14:53 yeah like she can make fun of me a bunch and whatever give me crap in front of people but the second someone makes fun of me she's like I'll fucking cut you But I guess actually Millie doesn't do that to Moxie here as much. She's kind of like really sweet to him. Well, Moxie's a lot more hyper-sensitive. Like we can, I can, we can-

Starting point is 00:15:12 Totally. I just mean that's the part where it's not. But you guys, I feel like you guys have a lot of similarities, which is cool. Because I think that they're the best couple in the show, obviously. I see it. I do see it. Yeah. Why I love them so much. But yeah, I guess we'll take one last one here.

Starting point is 00:15:38 crossover who are you looking forward to seeing interact with each other are they going to crossover I think there's

Starting point is 00:15:53 I unfortunately don't remember some of the has been characters names I don't remember most I have to jam in a rewatch

Starting point is 00:16:01 over the next couple of days Yeah, me too. The one that we loved so much, the smallest one. The one who was like pimping themselves out? Yeah. Yeah. That's who I'm looking forward to seeing the most.

Starting point is 00:16:14 It'd be interesting to see how they would react with Stolus and with Blitz, two of our more, like, sexual characters. Yeah. I like seeing when Leeds interact. It's like Homer and Peter Griffin. So if you got like Charlie and Lucifer to interact with Stolus and Blitz, that would make me really. That would be a happy camper with that one. Also Charlie and Millie. That would be really cool.

Starting point is 00:16:46 That would be really cool. I need to rewatch the show so we can give you a better answer. It's been such a long time. It really has been. Because like I'm sure Alistair with anybody. I see if I forgot about Alster right now in this very movie. Yeah. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:17:00 It's been a very long time. I'm excited to rewatch it, though. I just don't want to do the rewatch until we've watched this. Otherwise, I'm going to be thinking about this. Blitz and Alistair. Yeah, yeah. There's personality dynamics. I could totally compliment or create contempt.
