I'm, Taryn and I are going completely blind.
There you go.
No clue what this even looks like.
Oh, that's going to be fun.
It's going to be a fun experience, guys.
Let's get to it, guys.
Let's find out what this whole Pixar movie is about.
Oh, man.
That was amazing.
I loved that movie.
That day, that was so good.
It was pretty cool to watch a Pixar movie that,
I had,
I sometimes I'm like I know nothing about this and then some one or two things come back to mind of like something I learned it.
I literally do absolutely nothing.
So that was that was like cool to like watch and then when you think it's going one way.
Yes.
And you're like all right cool.
I'm getting it.
Yeah.
Give you one with the animal.
It's just like completely turns into something different.
That was awesome.
What a cool experience, man.

Yeah.
I don't want it.
It's Tara's new shirt.
Yeah.
Cool.
Thanks for your new, your new worker here.
Okay.
This is what the men deal with.
Stupid.
Okay.
I got married to cover up my real desire.
It's a kid's movie, John.
You did.
Reel it in.
All right.
Well, John, what did you know about this movie before we started?
And then how do you feel now that it's done?
Obviously, nothing.
He didn't need a tissue.
The new arc of someone who doesn't feel.
Wait, no, hold on.
No, that's not fair.
Go ahead and convince us otherwise.
Just turn on the tears now.
No, yeah.
The teaser I saw a lot of animals, I don't remember.
remember it fully, but I remember
some sort of avatar thing,
but I didn't really understand it.
Like, I didn't get it. It was just in the background
when I was doing something. But
it is, yeah,
is it as good as a lot of the other Pixar movies?
I would say, like, the sentiment was, like,
return to form. I'd say so, just because
the other, there are some Pixar films
that were okay. They were not terrible
by any means. This one's really good,
and I was really entertained.
I was a little thrown off
but how crazy it gets
because it's like
in a crazy roller coaster
the beginning
was when I was
kind of getting emotional
because
the grandma's
like a story
that hit me
I don't know if anyone
saw it like I
I was kind of choking up a little bit
but um
we're just giving you shit
that's what I have to get up
no yeah but
honestly that one is
that's where
I felt like, oh, this is classic Pixar.
This is where it's like pulling at the heartstrings.
So I appreciated that.
And then there, a lot of the, the story of like,
ultimately the messaging of like as much as they were building a bridge and like bridging gaps and so on and so forth,
that entire motif was appreciated in a poetic way and how they were able to execute that.
Mabel is someone that I, that character is written really well because,
She's not just like this perfect kind of rebel.
I like the fact that she had to go through this arc,
even though she had her guidance of her grandma,
which is appreciated because, like, more complex characters,
for me personally, is something that I can invest in.
And because I watched another animated movie we watched,
Aaron and I watched recently,
and, like, one of the main characters is, like, perfect.
And there was no, like, emotional arc to that.
So otherwise, very interesting.
entertaining again the crazy turns it goes and like it becomes this like avatar and then like there's a forest fire and then we see a shark
so it's so gnarly but it's it's not a bad thing by any means it's it's forgivable because it is still a fun Pixar animated kind of uh fantasy movie which is really cool but otherwise i enjoyed it
how about you guys terra terra terra i i loved it the shark was my favorite part
Like literally I was like
Hell yeah bring that freaking shark back and they did
I'm so glad this was nowhere near
the first 20 minutes of up because I wouldn't have made
These would be gone
So I'm glad it wasn't that emotional at the top
But we didn't they gave us just enough
That I felt the connection
So the callback at the end
Where George is sitting
In grandma's spot
I got emotional
immediately. I was like, yes, get it, got it, that's great. It's such a nice little bow tie at the end
because really what she's trying to preserve first and foremost is a memory, but then we had to tie it
too. But what's the bigger picture? Like what grandma said, that you have to realize you're
part of something big, bigger than you are. And that is the glades.
that's which is now a preservation, right?
That there was a way that you can figure that out.
So the idea of big, we had to get there in a little bit of a weird way, but that's where I think her art came in.
Because I don't think ideally initially she knew that she was really just doing it for the memory until it became something bigger.
And so I love this movie for that.
And I love the shark.
Like, oh my God.
That literally made it for me.
and coming through the tunnel, thank you.
Yeah, I love the absurdity of it.
Yes.
And the philosophy of,
we're part of something bigger.
Usually when I hear the,
as I mentioned it like very early on,
when we're speaking about like being part of the universe
of the world, people usually say like,
when you pull back, we're just so small,
which is true.
Right.
And I like that concept that she has to become like
one of the smallest animals in order to really fulfill this like,
like huge big purpose, but when you put it in the context of we're part of something bigger,
that gives purpose to why we exist and that we should be part of that ecosystem.
Like I don't remember saw some documentary years ago that was talking about scientists from way back
when they talking about humanity and how it's evolved. And that was mainly from the foundation.
Humanity has evolved since the beginning due to love and cooperation. And this whole movie
is all about that when the whole wrap around is about love and cooperation. And,
And somewhere along the lines, like I know in the animal kingdom, animals will also eat themselves.
But somewhere along the line, you know, in Earth, we went like animals.
Suddenly there was like human beings and animals or everything else.
Right.
Well, really, we are just a part of the animal kingdom.
Absolutely.
So we should learn to cooperate and be respectful with that.
So it had like its environmental messages.
And the environmental messaging was also in tandem with the respectability of how to
treat animals as well and understand their existence and their environments, their communities,
and the importance of preservation upon that. So I, it's like to me, it spoke to a lot of things
I naturally really care about. And I'm like the things that I'm passionate about outside.
Like it's weird. I'm super, super, super passionate about animals. Like these guys know the,
the only real charities I'm involved with tend to be with animals. And the, and I'm a vegetarian for
that environment it's like I care about the environment but not especially care about animals but
I naturally cared about animals and doing my duty there is like doing my environmental stuff so I like I just
love the the whole themes of it overall and from a a storytelling standpoint like when the first goes into
her being part of the animals I thought we were going to do a little bit something simpler right
oh yeah of like yeah she becomes part of the community or whatever like I didn't we I mean we definitely
didn't know where it was like what the hell was that opening with the fucking going through the
lexion to the beaver i was like what the hell's happening right now right and and the last thing i
expected was that they're going to go into the mind of a beaver and live in this community
and what i love about how absurd it gets is the movie does a really good job on selling you
on them being able to do it despite like because okay what's an example of a movie where
you have to just go it's an animated movie that's right right um um
Finding Dory.
Like finding Dory gets so crazy in the end.
Yes.
They're like the fish is driving the truck.
Yes.
Absolutely.
And you have to just completely suspend.
It's an animated movie.
And I love that movie.
I really love it.
It's fun because it's just an animated movie.
But this movie has the ability to first start off where I thought it was just going
to go.
You know,
they probably did their research to see how a lot of these animals do really behave
and how they really like survive.
And I like how they took the imagination,
what if scenario even further,
and didn't decide to just be adherent to what humans know.
Like what happens when you can become one of the animals
and you see that,
oh, there's so much more to the way they live
than we've been able to study and research.
So they were able to use fiction and fantasy
of how animals operate.
So by the time they get to like the council meeting and everything,
like I was able to buy into the world that much more
instead of just going,
it's an animated movie.
That's why they can bring the shark.
And that's why they're able to, like, do stuff in the car
because the movie went from realism of animals into,
oh, there's so much more humans have not learned about animals yet.
And they utilize that concept to allow for crazier fantastical stuff.
While wrapping up and mess like, I like when the animal fucking butter the butterfly
and like taking over.
Yeah, that was great.
The insect was the meanest to what.
in real life
we're the worst to insects
I love animals but like
insects I have a hard time
like I'm more there than before
where like I can actually see an insect
and feel bad if I like
kill it
you know and sometimes it depends
so like sometimes I will just let it live
but other times like yeah I'll be way
more heartless to kill an insect
so I like how they made the insect like the worst
but as humans we're we are way less
compassionate to insects than we are animals.
So yeah, I loved this.
I thought this was a really, like, well-animated movie,
but also just great storytelling.
Absolutely.
And it was funny as hell, too.
It was so funny.
Any, like, character standouts
or scenes that really stood out to you during this?
Probably, probably the grandma.
Like, I, not to get too personal,
but the reason why I got choked up,
I didn't tell anyone.
I haven't told anyone in the studio.
My grandma passed away like three weeks ago.
What?
And so like that was moving me.
Yeah.
So, but ultimately, yeah, because she also...
One that was in the Philippines?
She, yeah, on my dad's side, unfortunately.
Yeah, so the reason,
and the reason why she's also my favorite character is because she,
ultimately you can feel her presence in the entire movie, right?
Like, but definitely my, the grandma.
Like I know she's very pivotal but small role, but yeah, I'd say that, yeah.
Absolutely.
Not to bring it down.
Sorry.
Yeah, bring it down all.
Appreciate you sharing that.
Mm-hmm.
Tara?
The shark.
God damn shark, man.
Every time, like when the shark first comes, oh my God, it just brings me so much joy.
I love it so much.
But then, I already said, in the tunnel, so cool.
It's just awesome.
And they did really good.
shots of it too of like the the mouth coming for you it was really it's kind of like spooky but like so fun i
loved every part of the shark i mean all this movie was great but like i'm a shark gal so
there you go and voice work great overall i love dave franco as the uh cataphyl that was your favorite
character that's my favorite character i thought it was so funny john ham was great and absolutely yeah
what the hell was the main girl's name mabel it was someone that we didn't like when they went to credits i was
like I have no idea who that is.
Hyper Curda.
No idea.
No idea.
Yeah, but in terms of like actors, that's crazy.
That was Merrill Street.
Could not pinball people.
Yeah, I just place that at all.
Anyway, guys, yeah, this was, um, I see why the hype was around this movie.
Hell yeah.
This is a really great Pixar film for sure.
I mean, I haven't seen every Pixar movie that's come out.
Um, but this, this was like, this was a solid, man.
Yeah.
Charming, fun.
This is solid.
Crazy.
Yeah.
I love this.
It's a cool companion piece
that likes Utopia too as well.
Oh, absolutely, yeah, yeah.
So it was a freaking awesome.
Yeah.
Guys, what do you think about hoppers?
Leave your thoughts down below.
What was your favorite moment?
What animal would you want to be?
Let me ask you guys.
What animal, if you had the ability
to go into an animal body
and be an animal for a bit,
what kind of animal would you want to be?
Shark!
Really?
That one?
I'd probably be a dog.
Yeah.
I don't, yeah.
Nice.
Be pampered.
How about you?
That'd be a cheetah.
Oh, cool.
That's a cool.
In Los Angeles, California.
Roman streets.
I hope you come to the beach.
Yeah, that'd be fun.
All right, guys.
That was a blast.
We'll see you guys soon.
Rejects.
