and disgusting. Yeah. This is the kind of horror that like, ooh, gives you nightmares. Nightmares, man. Totally. And it's not just the eyeball scene.

No, no, it's everything. Yeah, it's really everything. And it's the way it kept us guessing at first, and then just like rich people doing horrible things always is a great plot of a movie. Like, it just always kind of gets me. Yeah. Kind of reminds me of the purge movie.

movies. Yeah. When we watched them start watching. Right. People kill each other and whatever. Exactly. I was so scared myself during this movie that I didn't purge you once. You didn't thank goodness because I don't know if I could have handled that.

I could have grown, but not really. You know, we did something for backrooms. Tara, we did something for backrooms where we... RIP off? No, RIP off forever. No, coconuts where we told people if they made it this far. on the video. That's right.

They were real ones. And I'll tell you, I was so impressed with our back. Did you read our backroom's comments? No. First of all, they, they fucking loved our reaction, which was so grateful for because we loved, we loved that movie. We loved that reaction. Second of all, I mean, like, quite literally, there were hundreds of coconuts.

I'm thinking for this. That makes he happy. I'm thinking for this one. But we have to wait. We have to wait to tell them later. Okay. I'm thinking a word. I'm thinking something.

That made me happy right now because I've been grossed out. I think that should be a she-jax thing where we start to do. And by the way, anybody who did comment that, I did go and respond to them or at least

heart their comments so they know that I saw it. Okay. I love it. Okay. Let's talk about this movie. Let's fucking talk about this movie. Yeah. I've stalled long enough. Yeah. Greg did not warn us. No. We got zero warning.

All I heard was we were watching this, and I heard it was a great horror movie. He could have at least had the D.C. He could have at least had the D.C.s. And also, here's a barf bag. Just in freaking case. Give me your... I guess I'm just going to keep it vague, Tara. What are your thoughts on Hostel?

Yeah, well. Listen. Yeah, well. Here's what I'm going to give it. This movie did a phenomenal job with the practical effects. Every effect that they brought here, the blood down to the... the, you know, the usability of like the, the damage that they put on all the weapons, the set deck, all of that.

So realistic. I mean, 12 out of 10, I would be. For 2005, don't? Amazing, right? For 2005, very advanced. It couldn't have looked better today. It couldn't have looked better. Honestly, I'm totally with you on that. And we know I'm a big fan of the practical.

And they did practical for pretty much, like, almost the entire thing. I couldn't see. one C. I didn't see one computer generator. I didn't either. Maybe in the quick bit of like, you know, the train part with the girl when she gets thrown, that could

be a dummy, could be CGI, but it look more like a dummy. That is what I will give this movie 12 out of 10 for it. But honestly, the story did have us both by the throat. I didn't know where it was going. It is very 2005 with the dialogue. They used a lot

of like, you know, language, it's like not PC, that you couldn't, you couldn't write a script within it today, right? But it didn't seem realistic of how Boyd talks to them. Very realistic, which is why I think people probably were very

engaged with this film, because that was how everybody talked in the early 2000s. It wasn't called out then yet, right? It was just, ha, ha, ha, we laugh at it, and we let it slide. No big deal. I really liked it. I thought the actors were very believable.

I mean, I wanted to throw up, but like, great horror movie. I mean, I feel like I'm going to, that's going to, my tummy is not in a good spot right now. I'm super duper with you. I think that this was a great job by Eli Roth. I was a little nervous in the beginning because when we started, I was like, all right, Tara and I covering this very broie semen movie right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We open up with the teeth stuff, but then quickly we get to like, we're fucking bitches.

Yeah. And even we couldn't have sex with somebody who's passed out, like, whatever it was. And I was like, I wonder if this is going to hold up. And or like, like, I didn't hate the three dudes, but I was just like, this is just so bro-y, like, so locker room that I wonder if I'm going to be able to kind of like to get past it. Get on board. Right. And I will say because Eli Roth is a Boston filmmaker. in 2005, this is how Boston boys were talking.

Totally. I mean, the F word for gay was being thrown out nonstop. Totally. The R word, whatever the other things they were using in here. Like this and that, calling everything gay. Like, that was very classic. That doesn't make it right at all. But it is like true of the times.

It doesn't mean that things will hold up. So I was like, okay, if we're just going to stick on this and that's what this kind of movie is, like, Like, are these are bad guys? Yeah, these are villains. But very quickly, I actually think it holds up even better now because this is such a commentary on, like, people who speak rudely and inappropriately, like, yes, words hold weight. It's nothing compared to people who are fucking murdering people.

Right. Like, actions speak louder than words. Yeah. Whether our guys seemed young and dumb, but they weren't paying to torture and kill people. So it was very quick when we then say. started to see what this movie is. I was like, oh, wow, I'm really on board here. They more than have my sympathy. Also, fuck these bitches. These women that are doing this who like the trickery and the second that we hear the other women that are like, I'm going to the spot, you should come.

And you're like, oh God. This is all going to set up the whole town. The police are in. Everyone's in on this. I just thought that that was a really smart storytelling. And then the best part of the movie, which is also the worst part of the movie, is also the worst part of the movie, is the torture. If you love torture films, I don't know that there's a greater torture film out there. This is like, that's the kind of horror you're looking for? I don't know.

I love Saw. I haven't seen it a long time. I've seen the Saw movies a long time, but like this to me, this to me goes toe to toe with terrifier, with Saw. I'm with you. For the torture of this. Disgusting. Especially as you mentioned, that eyeball scene.

Oh, God. That eyeball scene. Yep. That was something. Let's get to some of the patron questions, and then let's get to a little bit of hostile trivia. And then let's get the fuck out of here and try to go to sleep tonight. And let's just think of the...

The Teflon T23, after watching this movie, would you two ever consider ongoing to Amsterdam to go sightseeing and party? After this movie, no, I'm going to need a few months to recover. I would go with my rocks. That would be fun.

I love Amsterdam, man. I've never been. I went once and it was awesome and it was a really fun time, although I did party a little too hard. Oh, okay. That is one place in Europe, I will say it is very easy to party and I certainly partied a little too hard there. But I would love to go back as an adult. I was a 20-year-old kid, you know. Oh, you were.

Yeah, I would love to go back as like at this point and see more sites and whatever. This wouldn't impact my opinion on Amsterdam. Amsterdam's where they were at first, they were in Slovakia. Oh, yeah, you're right, because they traveled. Yeah, they took the train. You're right, you're right. It might impact my decision on going to Slovakia. Okay, Tara.

Yeah, okay, Resident Zee says Sheeject, since you both are still feeling a bit icky. Here's a pallet cleanser. You have a question. Has there been a scene in a horror movie that has made you afraid to do something, example, driving behind flatbeds, carrying logs and final destination? First of all, I love residency that you know us so well to know that we're both still feeling icky, because of course we are. The flatbed carrying logs thing is always my first thought now. And actually, I unfortunately had a friend whose grandparent passed away recently because a metal pole came off of a truck in front of them and hit them in the shoulder.

They were in their 90s and they died. That's a real story of somebody that just happened to. It was devastating. So that even like doubled down on the final destination. moment for me. That is scary as hell. That is so sad. The tanning bed scene and Final Destination also really freaked me the fuck out.

Other horror scenes that have made you afraid to do something. Can you think of any? No. I mean, I'm already afraid of haunted houses. I don't want to do it. But I know. I'm not giving you a good example. I'm just saying, uh, no. No, I don't think so.

If she thinks one show let us out. I gotta think, Gia, Yolly, you know. Jane Rhodes, a lot of people put this movie the same category as Saw movies or terrifier movies, even calling them torture porn movies. I don't necessarily agree with that part, but they do call it that. I'm curious, would y'all agree with that? Also, I'm curious in terms of gore. Do y'all like a movie takes it there, or do you all prefer a different approach?

Also, can't wait for this reaction. Also, the second movie is actually my favorite of these movies. Really? I saw that Eli Roth both wrote and directed the second movie as well. so I am looking forward to that. I understand why people would call this torture porn. Not to mention, I mean, just in terms of the porn aspect of this, I know it's not exactly what torture porn means,

but there were a lot of naked women in this movie very quickly. The combo of it, yeah, I agree. That doesn't usually bother me because, and also we saw a boy butt, you know, as he drew on his own butt, free the nip slash, like, you know, just doesn't really bother me. I do think there were times where there were naked women in shots where it was kind of like, I don't know why this actors has to still be naked back there, but like, whatever, I guess we're creating an atmosphere. Right.

In terms of, like, when they go there, I think that there's merit to it. You know, I think it is horrifying. And I do think that the horror genre, torture is a part of it. You know, I don't know that it's necessarily, like, I tend to prefer psychological thrillers. but this of this category I think that this was really great and it's not like it didn't have a story

and it was just, you know, there was a story. There was a story. So yeah, I found this movie to be excellently done. Yeah. Yeah, I thought it was excellent, honestly. Because if you want to make a horror film that sticks with people and that people remember, you're going to take the approach

that this movie had, which it's like I can't forget some of this stuff. would I prefer that it's a little less of an approach? Well, yeah, for my own taste. I don't really want it at all. Right. Like, this isn't really aligned with like the Jordan Peel horrors or the element of the world. Exactly.

Like, I'd prefer a thriller, cycle, like that kind of a vibe. The rest of it is all really tough for me to get through. Like, I had to watch all the saws and all the terrifiers on this channel, too. But, like, and this one was really, this one's a toughie. But what I do really like about movies like this is that not for one single second did I think about my actual life. And sometimes it's really nice to not think about the wars that are going around in this world. Yeah. My own life, my own health, my own relationship, whatever.

It's like this movie for two hours, I can say for sure I was living in this movie. And that's what we want when we come here and escape. And so it really, that's what I do love about horror. Usually this is an escape. and I think that torture horror really is that freaks you out, man. Freaks you out. Makes your heart pound. Oh, all right.

Jane Gwyn says the scream queens are back. Yeah, baby. It's been forever since we've seen the She Jax. I remember seeing this as a kid at 10. Wow, and almost getting sick. Yeah, you and me both, buddy. Were there any sneeze at you, that your stomach's doing somersons? All of them.

All of them. The chainsaw one was really tough, too. The chainsaw one. the eyeball one, even the toilet scene at the end. Oh, God, that was so disgusting. When we're first stabbing our guy in the leg. Totally. The Achilles heel sound.

Achilles heel, that was disgusting, disgusting. All of it. I mean, every scene that they put in where there's torture or there is somebody is getting hit or strangled or stabbed, the sound mixed with what they're showing us, the practical effects, like I said, 12 out of 10, it's disgusting. I'm just glad we got revenge that like our girls that lured us in. Yeah, we killed them. We killed one of them.

But we hit them with the car and I hope that they're never the same. Our main dude that was torturing, that was paying to torture, we killed him. That guy that we had that one-on-one scene with who was like, should I do it quick, should I do it slow? He was a psychopath. We killed him. Thank goodness. I do love that people got their comeuppins. Yeah, we got some vengeance.

Yeah, because otherwise fuck this movie. but like I don't know what happens to our main dude next but I was glad that he was like I don't care what happens to me I'm going Rambo We're you all dead Yeah let's go baby sign me up honey So there was a lot of scenes yeah

In a wing that had been closed for over 50 years. Building 10 where many of the scenes were filmed, those who were the most erratic patients were taken. The basin was so creepy that Eli Roth had a string quartet playing classical music to make it feel cozier while shooting. He had to bring in a class

to make it like everyone feel okay down there. Good on. That's wild behavior. What a scary set to be a part of. Oh my God says the main trio stay in room 237. This is a reference of the shining. That's fun. Uh, the porn film The Guard at the factory watches on the DVD player is sex fever, the X-rated parody of Roth's first film, Cabin fever.

Oh, that's what we're watching. That's hysterical that he found a parody of his own movie. That's funny. That's amazing. Uh, okay, after Josh, Derek Richardson had his Achilles tendon slice, but much of his screaming is real. Why? While writhing in pain, the actor accidentally pulled the chair up and brought it down on his foot, nearly splitting his toe in half. Oh, God.

Oh, boy. When Paxton is in the slaughterhouse with the German, he delivers a speech in Germany saying, if you kill me, I'll destroy your life. Every time you close your eyes, you'll see me. I'll be in your nightmares every night. Your whole life, I will ruin it. Wow.

Okay. Okay. I do want to look up this guy, the actor Derek Richardson, because I thought he was really good, and I thought I'd recognize him, but I couldn't tell from what. Yeah, I don't know. Oh, he was in house. He was in one episode of house.

Interesting. Oh, he was an episode of The Night Agent, which I watched. Tracker. High Potential an episode, which I watched. A million little things. Okay, so the offer, he was an episode, a lot of one episodes. A lot of one-offs in TV. Yeah, so probably just seen him on TV a few times.

Oh, 100 episodes of Anger Management. Interesting. He's really, he was really good. Yeah. I thought that they were all honestly really, like, well-cast. Yeah. Good, good group of events. actors, solid performances all around.

I'm with you on that. Man, when she jumped in front of the train, we didn't even talk about that. That was wild. I mean, you called it. Yeah, but sometimes the audience hates when I say that out loud because then they're just like, why would you tell her that? And it's like, guys, I told her that because I didn't know it was going to happen. Yeah. And seen the movie, so it's called a prediction.

Yeah. I didn't try to ruin it for Tara. I just was like, is this what's going to happen? Here's the thing, guys. When we predict stuff, I don't think it's ruining anything for our co-host. Even if though they may not see it, there's a lot of times we'll predict seven we're completely wrong so none of us are thinking she's actually right that's what's going to happen she ruined the plot i'm like no i have to wait and then the second they start the second she starts walking like this towards the tracks i'm like

oh yeah i my head would have automatically went there anyway i just went there a little quicker because i could see the way she was looking at herself in that mirror and i know oh girl and it's terrible terrible and she's so beautiful yeah wait boston redsox jersey there was a thing Tell me. Director. Eli Roth at around three minutes, oh, she already saw that. Yeah, we already saw that.

Yeah, she called that out. Yeah, for sure. I did. I noticed that stuff. Good on you, Eli Roth. Bring that Boston pride by making an absolute torture film. Yeah.
