I'm so ready, G.
That's what...
I love it.
Boring.
Nothing happened this week.
Team black all the way.
Get your team black shirt.
Hey.
Do it.
It's crisp.
It's nice.
Looks good.
That's the first dragon fight we got, huh?
First big one, yeah.
First big dragon fighting.
That was awesome.
The way it was shot was really cool.
It's sad.
I'm an animal lover.
I'm a vegetarian because I'm an animal lover.
So whenever I see this kind of fighting between,
I just view the dragons as animals and it makes me really sad when you're watching it.
And I think you're supposed to feel sad.
Even if you're not a vegetarian.
And if you are a meat eater, it's clearly some sad shit.
You're looking at this dragon, looking at its owner right before he dies with another dragon's teeth clas around.
its neck. It's horrible.
It's horrible stuff. It's sad.
Heartbreaking.
I don't care why she went back.
Someone spell it out for me.
Spell it out for me. Don't, you know.
Don't let it be open to interpretation.
Just spell it out for me.
She could have gone back. She had enough leeway.
She could have done it.
I feel like Amon would have just gone right after her.
She could have prepared the forces and they could have had multiple dragons to take out Amon
and then bam they're done with vagar and amen but would she have enough time i feel like he's she
sends a text message along the way that's right she sends a faster raven she's got a bunch of ravens
tucked under one wing yeah yeah i mean you know you i guess she could have gone and found cover
somewhere maybe but i don't know especially flying away i would have to imagine that vagar would
be capable of figuring out what direction that is and making pursuit pretty quickly
Yeah, Kristen getting greedy in battle
Yeah, man
Got so many wins on his belt
He became blind with ambition in the end
Got big for his britches
It's too bad man, too bad
Big for those hand of the king ass britches
I mean the sequence at the end was really great
Like that was just a battle scene
We're not even like full-blown war territory yet
Of like team black versus team green
Because Renera just got back
And I think I'm ready for war
You know so she just got back
I think this is inevitable.
I just had to see for myself.
But like it was a cool battle sequence,
looking at all the practical effects
and the violence and the carnage.
And then on top of that, too, you know,
dragons fighting dragons.
Like, we know we're going to get more of that
and to see our first taste of it
while heartbreaking to also watch.
It's also cool at the same time to look at, you know?
It's a blend of both.
And I thought this episode looked beautiful
and it was very, very tense and exciting
and Rainies has been awesome badass maybe this was her feeling of redemption for what happened
like they've if i'm not mistaken that moment in when she burst through the king's castle
when aim when amen agon is named king i think that was added in the show i don't believe
that's in the book however they've made a point to point that out a couple of times of her
that she could have killed him then so i wonder if even though she had justifiable reasons not to do
it. I feel like in some
ways this might have been her
making up for it in some way, because I don't really
know what, I don't know, like,
if she was able to take out Vagar, that would have
made the world a difference, obviously.
That would have made a massive difference in this battle.
Like, even whenever we cut to Team Green,
they're always like, we need Vagar, Vagar, it's all
about Vagar, you know? Yeah, I mean, he's
our big gun. Yeah. Or she?
I don't remember.
She.
Yes, there you go. No,
absolutely. I love the
tension and the pace with which they've been
building toward yeah some kind of all out battle episode and i liked the the balance between the
two halves because it's yeah you kind of have the first half of the episode where you're reaching
the wall of you know all the political machination and you know you're with the councils
or you know at least trying to in damon's case like assemble allegiances and fortify council
and all that stuff and it's a lot of wheel spinning and it's a lot of sort of you know i don't
know the people are out there taking care of it let them do the the the the the dirt
work and then you go to the dirty work and it is like the dirtiest version of that and obviously
we had like the blackwoods and the brackens you know at least briefly in the previous episode
fighting it out and then you know we've heard tell normies and blind wave that's right
seeing which forever have wore those two yeah which super deep spanning reaction clan will
remain supreme uh but yeah going into you know i have
Having heard of so many conquests already taken place and having heard of Sir Christen's march, you know, throughout the lands, you know, either pillaging or collecting allegiances on his own now to actually go into battle.
This was, yeah, really gripping and really, you know, it's the one you want to see when things start going wrong, when things stop going according to plan, when variables get thrown in the mix.
That's when it's the most thrilling.
and yeah like you know agon so desperate for some kind of weight or approval or significance among all these things and and you know getting this taste of power liking the taste of power but not being able to you know like uh effectively hold on to it or really command it in any way than leading him to this decision
this is really fun to watch everybody sweat and obviously you know you have this sense of like oh yeah go get him rainies you know because he's obviously a character who inspires
much confidence you know you kind of trust when she's around that she's at least got a cool
head and is somewhat in control well in the last episode she was saying that they're going to war
and that they might die in the very last episode she was saying it yeah i'm just sad that it had to
happen now i mean i don't expect any kind of you know switcheroo and then beginning of the next
episode where she's somehow alive and has taken prisoner or something you never know but but this
certainly yeah i was one of the rare cases where the whole time you're like she's gonna die yeah yeah
And, and I'm bummed.
I'll, you know, I'm not ready, which I guess is what a good show like this is supposed to do to you.
It's supposed to kill people in ways that aren't, you know, the ones you're like, I'm okay with that.
I'm ready, you know, it's supposed to kind of throw you into the tragedy of it.
And I thought this certainly has done that so far and to leave everybody but Amund in a place where we're all like, oh, oh, God, what have we done?
What's going?
Sure.
You know, this is all such a mess now, and it's so much carnage and so much decimation.
And, yeah, it was very gripping to behold.
Gripping, indeed, indeedio, and all that stuff with Damon that's going on.
Tripping out.
It's isolation.
And going into the subconscious recesses of his mind.
Affirming, because I remember asking you, because I thought you would have all the answers.
I do.
Because I just assume you have all the answers considering you're a lot smarter than I.
That I asked, it seems like Damon is doing a lot of this now just for himself and not even in the name of Renera.
And that's just the thing he's hiding behind, which kind of seemed obvious.
And the fact that this is happening in his subconscious, I think it's possible to have two different emotions about the same thing.
I feel like they can coexist, you know.
And it seems to me that what this Alice individual is doing is for some purpose, some intention that she has is praying on that side of envy, praying on that side that resents Rennara and resents Vesaris, you know, because I think he did love Viseris, and I do think he does love Rennara, that he will fight in her name.
And for some, I don't know what it will be and why she would want him to pray on, why she would like intentionally push that emotion, you know, but bottom line, he's got to figure it out.
He's got to feel his own emotions.
He's got to acknowledge it or else it'll somehow.
It'll come out in some weird action that can overtake him in some way.
But I like dealing with how complex of an alliance, a union that he is in with Renera of what that brings up.
You know, even this, I like in that conversation when her name is Alice, right?
Yeah, Alice Rivers.
Yeah.
PD.
Alice Rivers
NYPD
Detective Alice Rivers
It sounds like one of those
Channel 7 news
Yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
She does have one of those
She's such like a Hollywood dude
Yeah
And that's the fun of stuff like this
Is you'll have all these names
That sound ancient
And then you'll inevitably have one where you're like
That could be anybody today
Yeah
This is the weather with Alice River
Yeah
It's the only weather report I trust
But when she's
I mean, she's saying like, did you, essentially, I don't know what the exact line was,
but the line had something to do with seeing an opportunity and was there a little bit of happiness.
That feeling that you have when they talk about when you watch someone else fail and how that might make you feel good.
Like it's not a, it's not a good feeling and it feel good about that, but some people have that, right?
And that was what she was sort of alluding to with Rue, Reneer being having the crown taken from her.
Like, was there a bit of happiness that came from that?
and allowing an excuse for all these other things.
I like the challenge of it.
So I have a feeling where this will land on
that ultimately he will find himself right back
to Renera's side on this matter.
I'm not sure because I don't know how things go.
I don't know.
It's like what it seems like to me is
what this adaptation of House of the Dragon
from like when I heard what happens
in the events of season one versus the book
is that they'll essentially follow
the guideline, but they will
change things. Like, I don't
know, I don't know in the
book, I really don't know, actually, if Kristen
and Allison were hooking up.
I feel like that's something they added into the show.
I feel like you can kind of pick up on this
when you see, like, Twitter responses.
I could be way wrong about it. You see like someone, like,
you know, they get mad.
Or they might like it. Who knows?
But yeah, I think this is so far,
but my point with that, that whole
unnecessary ramble was to go, I don't
know what the outcome is with tamed actually and if it is that way in the book i feel like they
would land eventually there like him being like loyal by her side in the end uh but yeah that's my hope
that's my hope after after after yeah some level of debate and after you know we're at a critical
moment in time and certainly whatever the next episode we are critical moment Biden that's right man
trump Biden trump but all over against critical moment of time you know global warming is only getting
crazier out here it's yeah look out uh and you know damon's gonna have feelings about all those
things he is so i mean it's gonna be like why are movies releasing them video in demand so early yeah we
need that theatrical window to save the movie theater going experience that's what damon's fighting
for at hair and all yeah movies shouldn't come out to at least a year after they've been the theater
he's just here for the distribution discussions no yeah i could see that i mean i like this debate with
him i like his little crisis of faith and crisis of like i don't know mental fortitude almost you know
he's having these hallucinations i feel like there's something i feel like she is like making him she's
like drugging him or something to make him have these sorts of interludes perhaps and maybe she could
have some sort of allegiance that is counter to that of his and rineras that she is trying to exploit or you know
I can see this being some kind of sinister, insidious attempt at, you know, weakening his resolve because certainly he is brash, but also, you know, certainly cunning and strong.
So to have his leg further weakened, I could see that being like a political asset to various people.
But I just like the mood of all that stuff and him, yeah, trying to, you know, get the Riverlands altogether.
But also is he, you know, sort of trying to carve out his own place to feel confident?
like he and a gone as much as you know he and amand you know are sort of likened in ways
uh in that vision where he's following himself through the halls uh you know him and well
amen wants the throne too well yeah yeah yeah and they're both like off to the side and they're
both sort of both the brothers who felt like they weren't given their due and they're both
at the sort of mercy of or they both have like a very distinct like feminine figure who has
authority over them that they're sort of
like struggling with. They're also the best
warrior and they are also the best well
but agon is not and like in some
ways he's Damon is
oh you're comparing agon and
I think they I think you can
kind of derive both of them from
Damon I mean like the obvious
there is that obvious parallel in the visual
and yeah like he and
and aim and have that
you know I am the brother I you know have various
reasons to resent
but also like agon he's probably feeling
kind of powerless at the moment
or like he can't really do much and he's
at the mercy of the whims and decisions
of, you know, it's like he has that thing
with his mom, Amon, does
where, you know, she's basically like
just shut up and let us do our work
basically. And Renira
certainly has her, you know, resolve
and her, you know,
means of taking in all the information
before acting with, you know,
as level ahead as possible, which I get the
sense brings that sort of antsy
friction to a character like
damon who wants to go out there and exert and so like i i think it's yeah there's some interesting
parallels between him and both of the sons both agon and and amand that are on display here and yeah
i i i hope certainly that he comes out ultimately freshly uh you know dedicated to rinera's
cause hopefully i mean anything could go any different number of ways in these shows certainly
well and if agon is dead like jesus i don't think agon's dead i don't think agon's dead i
think yeah he's probably just cooked yeah i don't think cole will probably bring him back and be a hero
but we know how the rules work here that as long as he's breathing yeah he's still king the king
yeah yeah there's covering some kind of you know maister jelly and hope for the best but from agon
to christin like watching this ambition um be their downfall is really fascinating to see thematically
tie in together
where they chose each other in the end
and I like
what they're doing with Alicent
for the most part
and seems like
I mean she obviously
knows the truth and it's tearing her up on the inside
everything that's happening right
like she's already been sleeping
with Kristen and then
now she has this truth
holding over her where she's
it seems like
at least with her performance that she's
like trying to push down, you know, the feelings of to the right thing are like, I am the
fulcrum point of all of this, confess the truth, you know, it seems like she's trying to push
that down, but it's causing more resentment within herself. And of course, it's taken out on
others. And it seems like in her conversation with her son, when she's like, you have no idea
the shit we did for you to be on that throne. There's even more bitterness behind it now that it was
based on a lie you know i think it's really strong and i like with ronera how this situation
you know her passing along the speech of a song of ice and fire to jace i thought this was
jace's most compelling performance out of everything he's given us in the show so far and what
they've written for him of watching him have an actual disagreement with his mom and
stepping into the role from like from a boy to a man yeah that was really great so i really
like his work a lot here too because supposedly he's like a big deal that's why i put him on the
shirt he's supposed he's like me so yeah this is the first time i've been gripped by his presence
yeah he he got assertive and i was like oh oh yeah i could feel growth happening within this
like oh daddy you're hardening to this world and i like it yeah overall great stuff man uh i thought
It was a really solid episode.
Quality.
I'm trying to think what I don't like,
so I'm not a kiss-ass here.
Because, you know, why not reach for cynicism?
I was going to say, do you still like...
Why not reach for a critical quality?
Do you still like the meeting between Reneer and Allison last week?
It's a lot of people...
A lot of conflicting opinions.
I really don't like it.
I really don't like that, yeah.
I love it.
I think it's great.
Okay.
All right.
She had the final straws.
The final straw.
I mean, you got to, yeah, it makes sense to me.
You've got to check that out.
I'm there being, like,
I'd be so annoyed if, like, this whole time, like, all, all could have a misunderstanding.
Yeah, at least we try.
At least they know she can have the resolve on that, you know.
And that is true of, like, when you can, you can be a better leader and be more focused if you're not like trying to, like, maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong, you know.
Yeah.
The more clarity.
Yeah. The better leader, you can be.
Clarifies the path that she needs to be on.
and the other part is it probably not going to have many scenes together
so in terms of watching like two actresses who are great
and our focal points for the show to have like a scene together
I'm like great excuse to do it
but yeah I think a lot of I know I heard a lot of people
really didn't like that scene
but there's nothing really quite here
that I didn't I can't think of
not really
yeah it's all good scenes
it's all good
It all, you know, drove things forward.
It gave you interesting stuff to contemplate, had mood and atmosphere.
They hinted at something with Corliss and Alan.
Yeah.
Like, at least from the bits of dialogue in body language, I don't know what it means.
I interpreted it as Alan's probably like his bastard child that he had with another woman.
Uh-oh.
You know, because that happens a lot in this world.
It happens all the time.
Yeah.
In this world, plus, I mean, he's out of sea.
Everyone needs that guilt moment.
Probably been in his younger days, you know, port to port to port, you know, far away from your home and hearth and loved ones, you know, you get a little lonely.
And Alan is bald, so he don't know what his hair color is actually like.
But we saw his brother, didn't we?
Adam?
Yeah.
He has a brother.
Is that his biological brother?
I'm not, I would have to go back and look at the lineage for that.
Yeah.
I mean, I have to imagine that that stuff, I would imagine, must expand more next week.
Certainly, if he had some kind of...
I'm believing something I've theorized in my own.
Well, at least with Allen, I mean, it seems like, you know, given the exchange he has with Renice and then, you know, Corliss, the connection there, like, I would have to imagine that maybe even by next episode we would be unpacking that more and more because of what just happened to Renice, at least, you know?
Yeah.
Yeah. I'm curious to see, though. I like that they're building the Valarian side out a little more. It seems like they're hinting about doing that because right now it's been quite insulated to like their direct family.
Right. So now seeing like what his actual fleets are like and some of the rest of the people that are involved there. And, you know, they're all part of this big chessboard, you know. And the, you know, the sea is certainly an asset and those who can, you know, navigate.
make the best of, you know, those channels
certainly are valuable, so
absolutely. Let's see. They've made so much
about the Riverlands and all that, too, so
we're still got so many
more excited things to go. How many episodes
is this season? Six, eight.
What are we on right now? Is this four?
God,
I remember the season being shorter
than the other one. This season is shorter
than the previous one? Yeah, that's all I know.
I don't remember how many episodes the last one was.
All right, well, wasn't it ten? Wasn't it ten?
Yeah, that seems like a perfect
I think this is eight
What?
Well, you know, as long as they put that budget on screen, baby.
They just don't want to compete with Cobra Kai.
Yeah, three-part event of Cobra Kai.
Eight episodes, damn.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right, so we're in the thick of this now.
We're in the end game now.
We're in the end game.
We're halfway.
Which, I mean, I guess now that makes even more sense to be halfway.
Big, big old battle.
Big old battle.
shit's popping off, yeah.
What'd you guys think?
