Starting point is 00:00:02 From the producers of Super Troopers and Super Troopers 2 comes, you guessed it. Broken Lizard and their rowdy patrol squad returned to the scene of the crime. In Super Troopers 3, the mustaches are thicker, the maple syrup stickier, and the pranks crazier than ever. Buckle up for the funniest comedy of the summer. Super Troopers 3, only in theaters Friday. Get tickets now. Thank you to Hewle for sponsoring this video. More on them in just a bit. Citizens of Rejectoros, we're here to watch the penultimate of House of the Dragon.
Starting point is 00:00:38 It's played Outlast for round three, and I feel terrible after it every time. And now I'm here to wipe the slate clean with House of the Dragon, so let's go. Ladies and gentlemen, we have just watched House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 7, or Inest Once Again has come back into our beautiful lives. That's all I can think about. That's the only thing that happened in this episode. It was imaginary answers. I know.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Much like Michael's Life. Guys, if you want the full reaction watch along, that's at our Patreon page. Thanks to all you guys have been joining. And you can, you know what? It would be great if you went to Multicon. If you drove out here, if you live in New York City and you drive all the way for the next 72 hours here to August 8th,
Starting point is 00:01:24 that would be awesome. To Los Angeles. We would gladly, gladly maybe take a photo with you. That's about it. We're kind of busy that day. So, you know, talk with other people who live here. Guys, guys. What happened in this episode, John?
Starting point is 00:01:39 Okay, so check it out. So there's shit happening. The small council's not happy. That's good. We found out all the, you know, the truth outed with Raina. And, you know, the cheap stealer. had that big old confrontation. Alicent went to visit
Starting point is 00:02:06 A. M. and at Haran Hall. And Alice and Alicent didn't get along very well because their names are very similar to each other's names. Helena having hell of visions, hella dreams, this episode,
Starting point is 00:02:22 a lot of symbolism, a lot of death imagery in there. We also got more Ormond High Tower machinations. He cut off Corliss is Fingy and now he's flipping Mr. Ulf didn't like that very much. Fricking, you know, Gwain and Damon are here. Agon, that was the big thing. That was the end thing.
Starting point is 00:02:45 Agon and Gundam Wing there, Sunfire. And, you know, Little Toe lives to fight another day someplace else. Tylon Lannister's good. And though Misaria, she's been, you know, kind of endowel out as to our allegiances, but then they got it on. So we're good for now. Until next episode, is there anything else that I missed? And the phrase get heron haul.
Starting point is 00:03:11 The phrase get heron haul. And Damon hung up on the errand lady, on his errand to the errands. Wow. Wow. So. And Kristen Cole's head got honored. That's true. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:24 It did. It did. So, okay. Hashtag Pike Live. Okay. I mean, John, I just recapped everything for us. But let's just go one at a time here. One at a time.
Starting point is 00:03:37 How are you feeling about Dan Fogel? I want him to, you know what? That scene was very meta. That was very emblematic of his presence in the show. I'm like, let this man do something. He's always talking. No one's listening. And then we just rush right past what he had to say.
Starting point is 00:03:52 I'm like, I'm happy Dan Fogler is here. I want a plot line with this dude. Get my man a plot. There was a segment on. when he was on NBC was called 60. It was a parody of 24. So it was one second
Starting point is 00:04:08 more per episode. Yeah. That's how I feel about his story. Yeah, exactly. He just get one extra minute. Every time. I don't know why this guy is such a big deal, but he's here right now. And his arc was
Starting point is 00:04:23 now realizing that he's just been installed here to be a scapegoat. He got no power. Reputation to a I'm like, I don't know your reputation at all, honestly, man. So, yeah, you like him? Stay happy with him?
Starting point is 00:04:37 No. I feel like all the small council scenes have been like my least favorite scenes. It takes me out of it. That's why I wanted to start with them. I feel like they're the biggest, they're the most exciting. I think it's where the most tension comes. You think about like the original throne series,
Starting point is 00:04:54 especially in the early seasons. And those are just like some great intense you know but this all of it sort of feels like how kind of weird and comical the last small council meeting in the original game of Thrones yeah that's true all right nothing more to explore there um all right well the reina and sheepstealer stuff has finally come to the surface here i'm glad sheep's dealer gets to live to see another day i was really actually after what happened with sunfire i guess it's probably pretty probable sheep's deal will be fine him to heal. Yeah. I feel like sheep stealer's just wronged, you know, he's just misunderstood. He's scared.
Starting point is 00:05:33 I think that's why he mainly attacks. He's just scared. Just wanted some sheep. So, yeah, I mean, I feel about that scene. I know you were saying behind the scenes they wish Raina suffered badly and had a terrible death, but that's not what happened here. Yeah. No, I mean, I think that whole sequence is just sort of emblematic of why this chapter of Westeros history is so stressful and terrible is because the Targaryens are Stressed arose. Literally stressed. The Targaryens are literally
Starting point is 00:06:02 killing themselves and diminishing their power in real time. And this was just sort of emblematic of all of it. I think the worst part is Reneira handled all of it pretty well. The worst part? Yeah, I mean, yeah, I suppose it's the worst.
Starting point is 00:06:17 A heartbreaking part. Why do you call it the worst part? Because none of it needed to happen that way. Oh, I see what you mean. Damon would have said, I have terrible news. Raina made a terrible mistake and accidentally killed Jace. And I'm in a pickle and I know it will be hard to forgive her, but I don't know what else to do. The men are scared of women's reactions. Oh, my God. So true.
Starting point is 00:06:43 We don't know what I'm telling. So true. So here's a decapitated farm man. I'd rather do that than the truth. Yeah, yeah. Rather than have to drive been, I've brought many a decapitation to my wife. yeah that's a love fastest way to solve a conflict really oh yeah yeah yeah i don't know why the fridge was left open but here's a head but i be but i beheaded the may tag man yeah he did it yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah i promise next uh i mean for that scene i felt like
Starting point is 00:07:17 was it hard for you to watch too um yeah it was in uh what way Like, do you care? What do you mean? Do I care? So sometimes... Did you not care? No, I care. I'm asking you if you care.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Yeah, I care more about the dragons in that moment. I look at them as animals who are being unnecessarily fighting with each other because of human squabbles. And I'm like, you sons of bitches. Then secondary is like, ah, this reina is in conflict. And who is going to be awkward later for Damon? So you care. I do care, but I'm more like, oh, the dragons. I'm sorry for the dragons.
Starting point is 00:07:57 I mean, that's who you should care. It's a poor defenseless dragon. Yeah, do you care, John? John doesn't care. He's known to be not an empathetic. John is good shit. If it's not Kristen Cole, I don't care. I care.
Starting point is 00:08:07 I just wish I cared more because I want more actual scenes with Raina, Bela, and Alan. Adam? No, Alan, yes. Adam is the long-haired guy. Adam is bald. I feel like. Or Alan is ball. Adam is
Starting point is 00:08:23 The one who's on the small council He's great Love him, he's fine He's proportional I feel like The one hooking up with bailo right now Yes I gotta say that was an awkward moment
Starting point is 00:08:32 Didn't happen to say Oh when Adam Said that was doing Yeah Yeah your brother I wish Adam Bela and Raina were more of characters
Starting point is 00:08:41 And then I would care that much more But I was very sympathetic to just like The fucking mess that is And also it's really tense Watching Watching these people
Starting point is 00:08:51 who are so intertwined with the dance of the dragons and we are the dragon people and yet when the chips are down like you're not controlling these guys like you kind of can corral them maybe but like that was a great moment of tension and
Starting point is 00:09:05 I could see I don't know this episode very much has like a you can see all the dragon chess pieces shuffling again or at least the potential for a great like there's so much about like we got six dragons we got the up brand but now sunfires back we don't know what's going to have
Starting point is 00:09:21 the sheepstealer, they're holding that one dragon with the high tag. It just, yeah. This episode was a real sad of the board. Yeah. Which I felt like needed to happen. But God, that Agon moment of him finally mustering courage and his dragon spirit clearly feeling that. That was awesome. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:46 That was a cool, like, not quite, but sort of supernatural moment. I mean, that's the whole real. relationship with the dragons and how they change you and your connection to them. But for me, that was such a, I like I've really been rooting for Aegon, which is crazy to think. But this whole season, I just, I've loved watching his slowly come to terms and even giving up on Esos and a chance to live in order to be a real king. I mean, and it's death. Out of any of the scenes he's done in this whole show, that was the most king scene he had. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:20 letting Corlis, not Corlis. Yeah. Nope. Tynd. What's one? No, no. Who's the? Oh, Laris.
Starting point is 00:10:26 Larris, God damn it. Yeah. Letting Laris go and, like, let him have the choice to leave. And then also being able to take a stand. And that was the most kingly thing he's done. And, uh, yeah, that was, uh, it's like, even though I didn't believe Sunfire was actually dead, I forgot all about Sunfire. So when Sunfire starts, when you start hearing the march, you're like, oh shit,
Starting point is 00:10:48 Sunfire's finally back. What a moment. that was cool it's either that scene or the sheepstealer scene is going to be like the most talked about from this episode for sure yeah um but you know uh the other thing that was definitely you know a lot of talky talky here was uh alicic is alison amen the triple a's i think you should take this one oh man did it live up to your insect expectations it was like you know when they just kiss and have actors kiss i'm just like ah this is this is what this show does this is what this world does this is what this world does that they make us uncomfortable. Yeah. But when they started really going at it, I was like, okay, this is, this is very okay. This is hicky now. This is not like funny.
Starting point is 00:11:30 I feel gross. This is really disgusting. And as I was thinking like, she's feeling like this is the only way she can feel. Because at the moment, I didn't think it was Allison and pretending to, no, yeah. I didn't think it was Alice pretending to be Allison. So I felt like Allison was. was finding that this was the only way she could go through with the mission.
Starting point is 00:11:53 I was like, oh, this is so disgusting. So, yeah, that was disturbing. But I do like the awkward tension, and I like the trifecta of what was unfolding and how this will ultimately just create more of a loyalty, I imagined, for Amon and Alice, because Alice was right. You know, it's a little predictable that that would happen.
Starting point is 00:12:13 What happens to Allison? Allison, it calls an Uber. and now is the time Yeah, it fucks off to Esos. Somebody sick to old dragons up the Kings Road. I was going to say, you turn your hair a new color, start a new life someplace far away, now is the time to leave.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it was a little predictable that that would be the outcome of what would happen that you would try to do that, and Alice, I had a feeling that I didn't know exactly the scenes that would happen, but it felt like this was probably going to be the conclusion of what would go down. But I enjoyed the journey a lot. I thought it was really uncomfortable and a lot of tension.
Starting point is 00:12:46 And I liked Allison performance. I like the chance. I felt like she had something different to two finally this fucking season. Just like being the mother in between all this stuff. Yeah, yeah, that was cool. That was really cool. I mean, did you like it? Did you really like turn on? There have been times where I forgot to go
Starting point is 00:13:04 grocery shopping. In fact, one time, my post-workout meal right before I'm about to go to work. I remember I got a slice of flavorless keto bread, put some olive oil spray on it to try to give some type of flavor. A scoop of peanut butter with some leftover grapes that certainly tasted like leftover grapes. Yeah, this is
Starting point is 00:13:20 This is a meal. That type of sadness is the exact kind of meal Huell has replaced for me. I'm at this office, eight plus hours a day usually, and Huel is one of my go-toes. We keep the ready to drinks in a lot of our fridges here, and you know, I'm such a good boss. I never have any of them because the other hosts, they take the best flavors. It never upsets me. They don't ever run it by me. It's great.
Starting point is 00:13:44 I love being here. But actually, I'm okay with it because my favorite one is the black edition powder with the banana flavor. I usually mix it in with my yogurt. Oh my God, I find myself craving it. I even have it on the days that are my cheat days. Ugh. Oh, yeah, I can have it right now.
Starting point is 00:13:57 And the heel black condition powder, they have over 40 grams of protein. You can mix it with water or milk or yogurt in about 30 seconds. It's a complete meal you have instead of food, not a shake on top of food, with 27 essential vitamins and minerals. And no artificial sweeteners, colors, or flavors. I really do wish the host would stop taking the chocolate peanut butter ones, though. Those black conditions are pretty off. The RTG bottle is the grabbing.
Starting point is 00:14:19 Go version, 35 grams of protein, 7 grams of fiber, and under $5 a meal. And best part is, new customers get 15% off online with my code rejects at hu-e-el.com slash rejects. New customers only. Thank you to Huell for partnering and supporting the channel once again, because I've been using you guys for a maintenance. I used you guys when I was doing my crazy cut last year, training for a tough mudder right now. I'm using you guys still.
Starting point is 00:14:45 You guys are just a part of my life no matter when. Love you. Really? Yeah. No. No, I was viscerally uncomfortable. Okay. I was really relieved when it turned out to be Alice.
Starting point is 00:15:00 I thought it was kind of like weird and clever that she'd be in the same outfit and all of that. I appreciated the psychology. No, the whole Alice and Eamon thing is just like so creepy and weird. And I enjoy that sort of strange dynamic. and even like her having a line with him after he's unconscious I thought was brilliant The idiot you idiot
Starting point is 00:15:25 Yeah yeah You know which really sort of surmises That he is more just upon Than he is necessarily a partner Well it weirdly as much of a humorous moment as it is It actually makes her a little scarier Because she's not affected She's not afraid at all or worried in that moment whatsoever
Starting point is 00:15:43 You know like she anticipated it She knows she can handle this situation already brood the killer. You're like, I knew this was going to be a problem, and it's not that big of a problem. Yeah. I love Ormond. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Well, we didn't hear John's opinion about the incest. Fine. You know, it was a real wincess for me this week. I got to say. No, very, I echo everything you guys said. I didn't want to hear a chance of opinion. Very uncomfortable, very gross, very twisted and sorted, and I'm glad it wasn't actually her, even though it didn't make.
Starting point is 00:16:17 it any better to see her kiss him again later but uh but yeah i mean it uh that that's a bit of a i will allow it dramatically because of how we've been with alison up until now part of me is like that's a fucking double tap man grab the dagger just do the thing but you know i know that we probably can't boy i know which is why i get why we didn't but it's right on that razor's edge of like come on. Yeah. You know, because of course, it just takes a little bit of the tension out
Starting point is 00:16:49 when you're like, well, of course. You know. But that's fine. Totsma goats. Not a bad. Not a bad thing. Toots me goats. All right.
Starting point is 00:16:56 So then you were saying Ormond. Do you like Ormond a lot? Ormond's been like my favorite part of this season so far. Really? Yeah. I just, I feel like his conniving and just his particular, he's like Taiwan with a weird smell thing.
Starting point is 00:17:11 He's playing a game. Of smells. And he's, I appreciate that he's not just like a cunning, like a little finger or Laris. I appreciate that he is, he has larger machinations and larger desires. And he's not afraid to move pieces on the board. And he's honestly made a lot of really great freaking moves. And yeah, he's just, he's been a, despite him being terrible and evil, he's been a joy. I mean, he knows people, but it's like as much as you can tell, he's a manipulator.
Starting point is 00:17:45 and everyone can see it. He drinks and he knows people. Yeah. But the second he starts talking to you, you're like, oh, shit, I'm falling for it, which is how it would be if Tom Cruise try to recruit me for Scientology. Dude. So let's get that reaction to him.
Starting point is 00:17:56 I hate that guy, but it's fun to watch him. Yeah. I am riding for Gwain. He's my boy. Every one scene per episode, we check in with him just being the most adjusted guy in the room. I'm like, I'm afraid you're going to die. Because you're too.
Starting point is 00:18:13 just two level-headed. You're an all right guy. You're an all right dude, and you recognize this shittiness of this whole situation. No, Ormond's, it's a great dramatic kind of thing, and you're sitting there with Ulf, and the thing with Ulf is you're like, I wanted to believe they're setting this whole thing up like, you would be the one. And I guess you would be the one. I thought it was going to be a hue that would be the one, and Ulf was the mislead, because it all seemed too obvious. Yeah. It's like, well, sometimes the obvious one's the one that makes the most sense in the direction. You're going. What do you think is going to happen with the king down there in Tumbledon?
Starting point is 00:18:50 Daring? Yeah. Oh, boy. Well, he's in a bad position if people recognize that Agon's back, isn't he? Or does his position just kind of go moot? I think he's going to go moot. Those are really interesting points. He's on coin, so, I mean, that's enough cause for someone to just get flippant about it in this universe.
Starting point is 00:19:10 I mean, I don't really care for his character. as this show has gone on. He's just kind of like a kid who's there and is a prisoner. He's a pretty sound mind. He's pretty well-adjusted. He'd probably be a really good king. But he keeps getting overshadowed by Gwain
Starting point is 00:19:27 in terms of like the well-adjusted normal guy. His normalness gets overshadowed by the slightly more interesting normalness of Gwain. I mean, I don't really know like his... He just seems like he wants to get out of here. But I don't really get a sense of like motivation from him in any capacity outside of
Starting point is 00:19:45 I don't like being here and I want to go you know that's about it so he's all right he's more of a device and he is a character I think that's why he's so relatable to me because that's how I feel in every room that I'm in. Even now? Especially now. Yeah, incest
Starting point is 00:20:03 um sorry John what are you going to say about about uh... He's the kind of character that just the last thing I'll say is he's the kind of character that this kind of alterates because they've said it's only four seasons, but that's the kind of character you watch now and go, I bet this guy will get interesting later.
Starting point is 00:20:19 Yeah. Or more interesting later or do something neat later. True. True. Okay. So we got Helena who's having awesome visions. Love it. I'm glad we're seeing it.
Starting point is 00:20:30 It seems like they set up some shit that's not going to happen at all in the finale, but they're like, don't worry, next season we're going to see her do some stuff. Yeah. That's what I felt like they were doing there. Heleney's next season. Let's do it. They got to set it up in tease. But there is something very eerie because she is the most hardcore pacifist to then have a moment where she is jacariing a bunch of people was eerie of that turn that she might have, presumably will have.
Starting point is 00:20:55 But I like a purple dragon. That was cool. It looked very much like a how to train your dragon dragon dragon. It did look like a how to train dragon dragon. I thought the same thing in the moment. This is Westeros. Yeah. Pale horse.
Starting point is 00:21:11 Okay, so you want to talk about the lesbian action, right? Like what positions they were doing and stuff? That's what you were telling me before we started? You know, Greg. Before we started filming. Before, yeah. Before I had any idea that it was going to happen. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:23 You know where the book's going. There's a whole chapter of lesbian sex. I mean, listen, I've read full Martin chapters on the taste of mutton. So I think it stands to reason that there'd be chapters on the taste of other things. Yeah, baby. No, I mean, I hate her. Why? She's a, she was, she was a sex worker before?
Starting point is 00:21:44 Is that one? No, no, no, I, I. You're shaming her, I. Yeah, dude. You're all this profession. You're the problem. No, I just, her, because I think in the beginning, when we first met her,
Starting point is 00:21:58 her feelings around Renira, I think we're coming from a very genuine place. I think this episode, these feelings are coming out of a genuine place of self-preservation. and manipulation. Like what that woman was saying to her? And so that got to her. And then she immediately got right to her. And then she immediately got right to Reneira.
Starting point is 00:22:22 This is a show that is splitting the difference in a very fascinating way. And she's another character where I'm like, this was OG Game of Thrones. I feel like we would have a lot more flavor on this character bone. Yeah. That's a great point.
Starting point is 00:22:38 The performer. I like a lot of. the stuff, but I feel like this show is by and large we very much enjoyed it. I think there are a lot of things about the writing that corrected where the late phase Game of Thrones went wrong,
Starting point is 00:22:52 but we're not, it is like a splitting of difference to some degree. And it's characters like that, Bela, Rana, all these other people who you feel like in the different writing sensibility would have all got fleshed somehow and I feel like that's, she's kind of a victim of that for me.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Do you think it's because the cast is too big? I don't think that's a good excuse in a post-game of Thrones world that cast was fucking giant you know but uh because you're right there's no meat and potatoes there
Starting point is 00:23:20 I mean this is we got more out of this episode trying to like flesh her out a little bit more but even then you have to kind of just do like the main themes of that you know rather than giving her life like these are characters who don't feel like they have life so much and then they get short shrift because the performers are forced to play the same kind, like you pointed this out last week. It's like Raina is in like the same
Starting point is 00:23:43 kind of scene all the time or even Allison is often in the same kind of scene. And sometimes that develops the character but usually the more focal characters and then the less focal characters yeah, don't really get much beyond the actual plot context which is a bit of a drag in a show that's
Starting point is 00:23:59 about what's under the surface, who's lying, you know, what are the deceits? You know this person and their nature so you can extrapolate. Whereas here there are times when you can do that with better fleshed out characters. There are other times where you can't do that so much, and then things are just kind of to be predicted. Sure.
Starting point is 00:24:15 I mean, I agree that, like, we haven't had much messaria in this season. But I feel like it's all very natural from where she was in season one and especially season two. Like, when I take all that into account, I'm like, no, this makes sense. We just haven't really focused on her that much in these last seven episodes.
Starting point is 00:24:35 It makes sense. I'm just not, like, feeling a lot about it. Oh, yeah. You can talk about feeling. That's a whole other situation. That's a whole other thing. I disagree. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:48 I think, I think Renera, especially the past six episodes. Well, I'll give two exceptions to that. I feel like they have given her nothing to work with the past few episodes. Nasaria or Renera? Renira. Not much. That hasn't been much.
Starting point is 00:25:09 No, I feel like outside of her West Wing, a day in the life of being in the worst job in Westrose as Queen, and then the episode losing Jace, I feel like she has been presented with the same three base emotions of like deep despair, super angry, remarkably distrusting. Yeah. And that's the extent of what they've given her to play with. And I think it's,
Starting point is 00:25:36 and maybe it's intentional of like slowly getting the audience, to get off the Rainera wagon at the same time of like let's get you on the Agon wagon or get you on, you know, whatever other wagon you might be willing to ride. But it's interesting.
Starting point is 00:25:53 I wonder if it's an intentional goal to make the audience begin to question their initial allegiances that they self-defined in the first two seasons. I'm Team Renair all the way no matter what she does,
Starting point is 00:26:06 just letting you guys know. You can't give me to betray my queen. That's all I'm for it. Anyway, guys, that's it for today. Keep a lookout for when we cover the finale, which is sure to satisfy everyone. Woo! Thanks, Michael, for being here.
Starting point is 00:26:20 Multi-Con happens in just a few days from now. My God, pretty soon the media has to be right to my face. Yeah. And I'm going to be like, don't look at me. Don't make eye contact when there's cameras. Yeah. Yeah, you can host remotely via Zoom. No.
Starting point is 00:26:38 Is that possible? No. I mean, you can still be on the same premises at the scurber ball just in a different room entirely. No. All right, guys. We'll see you soon.
