Starting point is 00:02:51 about Armand from day one that he like had some kind of compulsion or something over them? Yeah. And I've hated him. And even last episode he told us a saddest story about his childhood. And I bet it's real.

Starting point is 00:03:05 And he talks about being trafficked. And I just, I have a hard time listening to him talk about his woes because I can't stand him. And I feel like he's taken away free will and choice from people. So it felt good to finally hear about this. I also have been wondering more about Daniel. I think that it was portrayed excellently. There's got me more to it. I'm still super curious about the Claudia part.

Starting point is 00:03:29 How about you? Dude, this is one of the best episodes of the entire series. For sure. I was just not in making jokes. I held it in the whole time. Yeah, he was so. good i was like oh this guy's kind of scary actually oh yeah he's never been scary rest he's just been like he felt to me like what louis was yelling at him about this whole time like god you're so boring you're just a little bitch when he was shouting that at him like yeah that's kind of how i've been feeling about armand totally even though he's been trying his best here but then this episode

Starting point is 00:04:28 when he was cracking man i was really compelled by what he was doing I was very pulled into him as a performer. Totally, yeah, yeah. I hadn't even been pulled. That was the thing is, like, I hadn't even been pulled into him as, like, a performer. I liked him enough, but I was not, like, whoa, this guy's actually bringing something to the table here.

Starting point is 00:04:48 So then by the time he shows up at the very end, damn, this guy's an evil dude. And I love it. I'm still with you. I love it. Yeah, I mean, it was, we've been waiting for it and delivered. I mean, it's really sad and tragic, especially what happened to Daniel.

Starting point is 00:05:03 But it seemed like it always, it seemed like it was just, so sad. It seemed like it was just one day this whole time. Right. And to find out that it was just kind of like this torture chamber based off of Armand's own insecurity and envy. And also like how, you know, obviously Louis had, like, Armand's never going to be enough for him because you just can't replace Lestat in any capacity.

Starting point is 00:05:28 And I love the nuance of like, but I was, I was talking shit about him, though. know so why are you bothered because like you find any excuse to bring this fucking guy up at any moment you know let's that let's out let's that they both had good points that they were making towards each other

Starting point is 00:05:45 I didn't get to see list at though that was a scene that confused me I think that when Louis was unwell he couldn't hear but tapping back in in his well mind maybe he could or they were just showing it to us as an audience remember Louis is not hearing that part

Starting point is 00:06:02 You think that he was actually saying the words I love you? Lestat? Yeah. I do. Where the hell's Lestat then? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Can you smell this muscle lotion?

But now as he is becoming a more openly villainous character, I start finding him really interesting. Greg, did you write this? I did. Grace did not.

Starting point is 00:10:08 Has your perception of him as a character changed? Or has it just reinforced your feelings about him? But your favorite reactors to ever react to his show, your conversations are always very interesting. Especially today. I think this one is the top of the list here. I think we've brought the A-game question. quality conversation for one of the biggest episodes of the season.

Starting point is 00:10:38 The big reveal episode. Listen, it's not what we say. It's what we're thinking. And it's your guys' job to be vampires at home and tap in. Whatever you want us to say, just apply it. And then, you know, that's all we were trying to say anyway. It's just what you want us to say. Has your perception of him as a character changed?

Starting point is 00:10:59 Yeah, I felt how you did too. it was my favorite episode of his because at least I could like dislike him openly instead of just be annoyed by him Hmm But did it also It seems to be both for you It seemed to you like it changed your perception

Starting point is 00:11:13 If as a character Simultaneously reinforce your feelings about him as a character Yeah more double down Like yeah that's what I thought bitch Well he also He's not bitch Barbie bitch like Armand Yeah no I get you Yeah

Starting point is 00:11:26 It's like he's so he's so physically powerful though too So even if that have this information, what can they possibly do in it? You know? Well, and now he's standing there and I'm like, is he going to wipe them out or like wash it again? And then you were like, where's Lestat? And it's like, I do think at some point, there was some kind of thing where he like has Lestat or Claudia or something.

Starting point is 00:11:51 He's trailed off because I don't know. Only what I think would something with that, you know? Yeah, yeah. I get you. I get you. At least I think I do. Yeah, and that's all I could ask for, really. Our conversations are always very interesting.

Starting point is 00:12:08 Oh, damn, she said always. Ow, it hurts to laugh. It's going to get worse, too. Okay. Okay, pedals. You could do it, Roxy. Pedals, 45, 45 and two peddlists. Does the idea.

Starting point is 00:12:30 have a powerful vampire strolling into a room wearing sunglasses during daylight hours. Frighten you as much as it does me. Wait. I didn't think he was a vampire. Who are you talking about? The guy with the silly sunglasses that he was going to chase.

Starting point is 00:12:46 No, Armand at the very end, strolls in with sunglasses. Yeah, I liked his coat, too. He looked fly. He was flying as a mother. He looked really cool, man. He was a good-looking guy. I don't think it frightened me, but it does demonstrate.

Starting point is 00:13:06 Because you're so strong, Greg. It does demonstrate his sense of control, you know, because I am strong. That's why it doesn't scare me. But on a narrative level, but that would mean he completed the hunt too, right? Yeah, he completed his hunt in like a couple hours. He said 30 minutes. Oh, 30 minutes. I mean, he can move at super speed and has strength.

Starting point is 00:13:30 could control things with his mind. How much of a hunt is it really for this guy? Tell him to get a Bugatti and drive it into a wall. It was like so silly. But anyway, I like how he seems so like emotionally distraught in this flashback and completely out of control. And then when you see him at the very end, he is the most in control. He doesn't even seem apprehensive or on guard to the fact that, like, oh, they were

Starting point is 00:13:57 reflecting on what happened. And he's like, he's not going, what you guys talking about? You know? What was the word he said at the same time as Louis? There was a phrase. Yeah. Okay.

Starting point is 00:14:09 But he always, he puts his communication in a framework that's constantly about protecting and looking out for the best, you know, he feigns being a, uh, some type of guardian in all capacity.

Starting point is 00:14:25 And even though he speaks, it's very melodic. And they all, always play that music behind him and he rest is such like a peaceful word yeah that's a good way to put it but he uses these these friends it's a great way to like keep people captive what do you think about the part when he's like um have i done enough to whatever for what i did in paris do you think that's about claudia i think claudia got trapped in the fire okay we've got caught in the crosshairs of whatever that burned

Starting point is 00:14:58 Yeah, and situation was. I think there's a question coming up about this. Oh, actually, yeah, no, it's actually the very next question. Jess. Hung out with your friend Jess for a while yesterday. She's cool. I was hoping you'd say that. Yeah, she's cool.

Starting point is 00:15:14 Yeah, she's the shit. You're the shit. She said she wanted me to do her podcast. I told her you should go on. And then I said, don't take it offensively if he won't. He doesn't do it a lot. But she does have half a million. followers so then i will i know this channel is more so that's now i'm incentivized because i care about

Starting point is 00:15:40 following i'm so excited that you guys have finally reached my favorite episode oh it's so good there's so much in this one-to-un pack isn't there but i was wondering what you guys thought specifically about Louis attempting to take his own life. What did you think of the scene itself? Why do you think he chose to run into the sun in that moment? Roxy, I'm going to ask you. Yeah. What did you think of that scene itself?

Starting point is 00:16:10 And why do you think he chose to run into the sun in that moment? The parallels between his brother committing Suey when we're not allowed to say it. I'm not trying to be in sense of just YouTube will pull us. It's okay. We're talking about vampires. right now. We're okay. Okay. Being called Suey when it's vampires.

Starting point is 00:16:32 Oh. Not when it's real people. Well, his brother was a real person. His character in a vampire show. Okay. And remember, you saw that one coming a million miles away, and I was shocked.

Starting point is 00:16:47 And then Louis was so hurt by it and couldn't understand it. How could one ever? You could never, never, never. And then, all this time later, for him to want to do that in that moment,

Starting point is 00:17:02 you know, you, I think a lot of people feel the same things when they decide to do that. Number one, talk to a close friend of mine who tried to take his own life very publicly. It's a public story,

Starting point is 00:17:14 my friend, Ex-Poc, who's a wrestler, and he has publicly spoken about how there was no lead-up to it. It's not like for days and weeks and months he was planning. It was a, it was a split second decision. And luckily in his case, it didn't work.

Starting point is 00:17:34 And I asked him, because he's gone to like support groups and things about this, is that often the case, like often the case that you decide and then you act on it. And he said that he has found obviously there's a lot of different cases, but that that is frequently the case. And it did kind of seem like it with Louis here, where it wasn't like he was planning on it. But in this drug-induced state, after feeling so trapped and feeling like he was with somebody who bored him and getting it off his chest and releasing everything about LaStat, he was just like there's, and knowing that Claudia didn't love him, the way that she loved him, that there was nothing else. He didn't need to be here longer. maybe losing maybe like the thought of a second sister not loving him all of that going into it so it didn't seem to me like a long planned out after this i'm going to run into the sun it to me seemed like i don't want to be here anymore get me out of here what do you think what about the first part what do you think about the scene itself as somebody who saw the first the brother coming but i don't think saw this one coming i really just gave it my all so now you got it too you have doubt yeah

Starting point is 00:18:50 strap in i don't think so my eggs are in pain right now talk to me about why that why the son in that moment do you feel like i got it rucks you guy got it i know what you're doing i appreciate you you're a good person i want you to know that you're a good human being right back at you home yeah don't sue it yourself listen okay yep yeah mind your words there young lady the scene itself. He called me young. I know you'd appreciate that. You need all words of encouragement.

Starting point is 00:19:27 I really do. I agree with you that it didn't feel like like some giant buildup or some plan in any capacity. To me, it registered as, you know, he had, there was a lot of truths that were divulged that he had been hiding from,

Starting point is 00:19:49 which seems like he's been hiding from for decades. Yeah. And then once they've all reached the surface and he couldn't live the lie anymore, there's a reason why all those truths were buried deep is because if they were to come to the surface, you wouldn't be able to handle them. Like, you know, if you're growing up in like a hard home

Starting point is 00:20:12 or some shit like that, or if you're in war of what I've heard, sometimes denial can help save you. because dealing with the reality might be too much to process. So shock and denial on the flip, while it's something one must process. It's also there to serve as a way to protect yourself. That's a physical thing. Yeah, exactly. So what he's been doing half this for decades. You know, of just like compartmentalizing, compacting, and then, now how do I tell a story to this reporter who can let me just say a bunch of things.

Starting point is 00:20:49 Because like the whole, that was what our mom was picking up on is you're talking shit about LaStat, but what you're really saying is I still love LaStat and I still miss LaStat and I'm not happy. I want to be with Lestat. That's just one of the many things he's sad about and heartbroken about. So in that moment when it's just too much of a rush of emotions. And he's also fucking drugged up in this moment too. It's going to be a kind of an acceleration. Yeah. Yeah. Which is like upper.

Starting point is 00:21:15 A lot of times when people are like drugged up to that degree that makes her emotions just zigged Exactly on top of vampirism and being around for hundreds of years and all this shit. I understand why one would be tempted to take their own life in a moment like that is all I can say. And the way it was shot was kind of cool in a weird way to say. I thought the makeup was great on him. We too. I mean, really disturbing makeup. Do you think that that was computer generated partially or do you think it was all prosthetic?

Starting point is 00:21:49 when he was after son, after son, when he was like embedded in such, continuing the episode, I think that was all prosthetic. I think so, too. And if so, amazing. How many hours? At least in that, at least one. I'm like, say, 10? Yeah, somewhere, I mean, split the difference.

Starting point is 00:24:03 but none of us are boring I think if you choose a labor entertainment being called boring is the worst so I think this conversation is not boring you think it is it's a little cringe

Starting point is 00:24:14 yeah but not boring that's true that's true but I do think that I would leave if I were in Armand's shoes and my partner called me boring, I think it's

Starting point is 00:24:28 over. Because if you think I'm boring, after decades, you know, know me, deuses. And yeah, I think that would produce a different outcome. How about you? I don't blame him being so upset at Louis for saying that.

Starting point is 00:24:44 I feel like Armand's been trying in his best to give him everything he wants outside of the stat. They're in San Francisco now. Do you think that was Armand's desire? I think our mom wanted to go to San Francisco? Are you being so team Armand? Yeah, man, of course.

Starting point is 00:25:01 Please, Roxy. I could flick you and you'd fly away. That's probably true. Although I have gained 10 pounds in one week. Wow. It's probably just water weight, right? Or is it the eggs? Do the eggs weigh a pound an egg?

Starting point is 00:25:14 Maybe you have 10 eggs? I haven't even... I don't even know what process you're at right now. Yeah, I know. It sounds really boring. I am well. I honestly, all things consider, I think we did a pretty good job bringing this out.

Starting point is 00:25:28 Yeah, you're right. Me with my mild tiredness and you and you're suffering. I just hope they know our true selves, which is that next week when I'm deeper into this, but hopefully more used to it, we can continue talking about how great this episode was because it really was the perfect culmination of a lot of threads,

Starting point is 00:25:48 but still kept doors open about Claudia and the stat. Yeah. Crazy that my favorite episode of this season doesn't have a stat in it. He's kind of there. Lestat's always there.

Starting point is 00:25:58 It's a good point. It is the right word. It's the only part of the yelling that I only remember was him calling him boring. Yeah. That is a, effect,

Starting point is 00:26:07 that is a really hurtful thing to be called. I wonder if some people wouldn't mind. Being called boring? Yeah. Oh, man, that's just such a terrible label.

Starting point is 00:26:16 Only bored people are boring. It's being like, oh, you're boring me is one thing. But to be like, you're a boring person. Oh, that's so mean. I've met boring people, though. There are some boring people out there.

Starting point is 00:26:26 And some of them I don't think would mind being called boring. No, because they're legit boring. Yeah. She'll walk into the sun. Oh, my God. What should Greg's jokes was your favorite today? The vitamin D can help enhance your mood if perhaps make you less boring.

Starting point is 00:26:45 That's true. Anyway, guys, Roxy, I say $1,000 a day. You won't make much money, unfortunately. So when you freeze your eggs, how long can they stay frozen for? To infinity and beyond. They can stay, so it could be like 200 years from now, and someone's like, I want Roxy Stryor's eggs. We didn't have the process 200 years ago, but from what we know as of now, they don't have an expiration date. That's crazy.

Starting point is 00:27:14 You could have like a new child, let's say one of the eggs stuck around 200 years from now. There's a lot of legality about when you die what has to happen to your eggs, but yes. What's your stance on that? What do you mean? She wouldn't want to just, like, carry on. Greg, I am hoping that I can have a child. I'm not really thinking much about 200 years from now. And you got to think about your legacy, you're asking.

Starting point is 00:27:39 That's a good point. You should ask Olivia if she'll freeze embryos with you, but with the stipulation that they can't be birthed for another 500. That would be the greatest, the greatest, sixth environment. Are we going to write a script together? If I was this sperm donor, I would be like, you must keep this going for as long as possible. Have you not heard of the guys who do that? Yeah, no, I won't say who, but I know someone who found out he was his firm donor child,

Starting point is 00:28:06 and he found, like, he has like 100 brothers and sisters. That should have him. I know. That would be the ultimate boss. It's illegal, but. Yeah, but, you know, there's some type of power there. There's a bunch of ewes running around. There's a Mexican one in me and black.

Starting point is 00:28:19 a black one of me and Armenian one of me. I don't think Armenian people ever do the sperm donor stuff. Of course they do. I don't know culture.
