Starting point is 00:01:32 More on them soon. Thanks, brother. Jason X. We have a lot to talk about, including how are Tara and I doing. But before we do that, if you guys haven't already, RejectNationShop.com, seriously, this is our big new thing.
Starting point is 00:01:51 You guys asked for this. Everybody was like, please do it with the Colt of Sheeject logo. We love it. So please go get it right now. Yeah, this thing is, this is the jam. And it comes in unisex, t-shirts, blue and black. This in black and white, when we roll the sleeves, it's super cute, too.
Starting point is 00:02:08 It's very, I think it's really good for, like, transitioning end of summer, beginning to fall, back to school. That's my jam. It's adorable. Also, love is love, baby. Okay. I'm twitching. Yeah, that happens to me when I'm stressed, tired, struggling. really yeah meds uh so meds how'd this movie do for you yeah i mean i like the fact that it was just
Starting point is 00:02:37 so different from all the other ones because you you guys know like my complaint through a lot of them was like just go to anywhere else but the camp they had the camp for so long and now that we're out of it i was like there's some ridiculous things that happen in this movie but i didn't actually hate it i was like yeah this is new you know that the The kills were cool. I like the practical and special effects. There was some bad CGI in it. Some actors have thought maybe a little too theater.
Starting point is 00:03:04 But there was other stuff that looked really, really good. And I think I'm mostly happy that the mask fell to the bottom of the lake because I hope that in Freddie versus Jason, we have old school swamp boy. I can't believe this movie was made. Yeah, that they got the approval. Like it felt like a Friday, the 3rd. joke parody film yeah like a meme yeah like a long gif meme yeah but there were parts I really did
Starting point is 00:03:35 like and including our main girl I really like her she's great and yeah I want to look up some people uh I want to I want to I want to get to know some people really quick because I just was like recognizing absolutely everybody and I want to figure out what year this is and then I want to do some trivia on like what the happened here okay so there's 2001 I said 2002 that's great you were that was perfect I was like this is not a 90s movie based on the way that this looks
Starting point is 00:04:05 2001 her name is Lexa Doig who at the beginning I said her name but didn't know where that came from and let's see is it the girl from Chuckie it is absolutely yeah yes okay good good job on that so that was her
Starting point is 00:04:21 I just need to know if that other girl did theater I don't know which one yet but that wouldn't be on iMdb i don't think sometimes in their bio sometimes yeah let me find the oh that's it by order of appearance god damn it mofos um peter mensa was the name of the guy that i just kept recognizing um all right he's been in everything oh from avatar to spartacus to 300 no wonder that i recognize in the body for all those yeah but it was just like i've seen him in so many things oh he was in snake eyes which i really liked he was in six episodes of agents of shield uh He was in 12 episodes of Sleepy Hollow.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Oh, wow. Okay. So I was like, yeah, this person, 23 episodes of Spartacus. Oh, yeah, he works. Yeah, yeah. This, I mean, just, oh, he was in The Incredible Hulk. Interesting. So, no wonder I recognized him.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Who was the other? Oh, the girl that I recognized, I kept being like, who beat that girl? She, I feel like has been a lot recently. Okay. Amanda Bruegel. and let's see, what do I recognize her? From The Handmaid's Tale. Oh, she's in that.
Starting point is 00:05:29 She's Rita. And Dark Matter. I'm an idiot. It's like one of my favorite shows of this year. Yeah, I was like, this girl books a lot. Yeah, she's Rita in The Handmaid's Tale, and she is in Dark Matter for five episodes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:45 She plays Blair. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We already knew. I wish I could pull my TV knowledge when I need to something. I need it. I was just like, oh, and she was in, she was the pastor in Kim's Convenience. I loved Kim's Convenience. She was also in an infinity pool.
Starting point is 00:06:02 Is that an indie? No, Kim's Convenience is seemingly used TV show. Oh. It was like what Schitt's Creek did and then it came over to Netflix. Oh, okay. Yeah, so good. If you haven't watched Kim's Convenience, I highly recommend it. It is so, so, so funny, good, excellent, such an underrated show.
Starting point is 00:06:21 For people who like Schitt's Creek, I always recommend. and I'm Kim's convenience. Okay. Cool. Really good. Okay. So that was them. The blonde girl that you said you didn't recognize who died in the way that we thought was
Starting point is 00:06:35 really, really cool. Yeah. That was an awesome. She's been in a million things as well from white chicks, which is a movie that I watched way too many times growing up. The Pink Panther. Okay. So she's just been in a bunch of stuff.
Starting point is 00:06:48 They all had Melody Johnson. Wow. All of these are work in Virgin suicides, goosebumps, bunch of goosebumps people in this. So working, working, working actors, all of them. Love it. Probably some of them do have a theater background because some of it. But part of it I also feel like was James Isaac, the director.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Probably a direction. Yeah, absolutely. Clearly was going for that. Yeah. Okay, let's see. What can I give you for trivia, my dear? Reject Nation, I just want to take a quick second to thank today's sponsor because as a business owner, I am surprisingly not the greatest at handling.
Starting point is 00:07:24 and tracking finances. It just doesn't come naturally to me. I can definitely have an oversight when it comes to certain things. And I'm sure you can relate with this. I hate the feeling of paying for something that I just haven't thought about in a while or worse. I just keep forgetting to cancel. Procrastination is the name of the game. And that's why, before we ever partner with today's sponsor about a year and a half ago, I started using Rocket Money. I'm glad to have this ongoing partnership with them because I already used their product. So it just makes it a win-win. But seriously, they've been a lifesaver. Rocket Money is a personal finance app that simplifies managing money by canceling unnecessary subscriptions, lowering bills. Rocket money does the heavy lifting
Starting point is 00:07:58 by analyzing your spending, then customizes notifications to help you stay within your budget goals. Over 74% percent, not 75, 74% of people forget about subscriptions they don't use. I was paying for things I don't even remember subscribing to. Free trials will do that. One of the best things about rocket money, they found those things and canceled them for me effortlessly. What I really love about rocket money is organization. It puts everything in one place. Imagine just seeing all your subscriptions and with just a tap, you're able to cancel the ones you don't want. It even compares your spending month to month keeping you on track for more financial success. Money's the name with the game.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Rocket Money can also negotiate lower bills for you up to 20%. With over 5 million users and over $500 million saved and cancel subscriptions, it's helped people save up to $740 a year. Join the Rocket Money community and stop wasting money on things you don't use. Cancel your unwanted subscriptions by going to run. RocketMoney.com slash rejects. That's rocketmoney.com slash rejects. It's a great way to support the channel
Starting point is 00:08:59 and a great way to support your bank account. Heck, you would even just help us out if you wanted to just click the link and poke around. Generous thing that you could do for us and for you. It's a win, win. Jason X.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Once again, just like Jason goes to hell, New Line Cinema used their rights to the Jason Voorhe's character to make another sequel. It was unable to legally include Friday 13th in the film's title. As Paramount Pictures still own the trademark title that we figured well this film was a critical and financial failure well okay in its initial
Starting point is 00:09:32 release in theaters it made more than triple the cost of production in DVD and post theater sales statistically it's one of the most successful Friday 13 films despite initial negative critical feedback over time it has become more popular among younger fans of the franchise mainly for its self-deprecating humor and inventive death scenes I feel that yeah Me too. It had those. It was self-deprecating in its humor, and the death scenes were pretty cool and different from what we had seen.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Absolutely. The film only suffered a couple seconds of cuts and alterations to earn an R rating, making it the least censored entry in the Friday the 13th series. Love it. Jason Voorhe's eyes never blink when they are shown. Yeah, that's true. The first film in the Friday 13th series to rely on digital effects for death and gore shots, we could tell.
Starting point is 00:10:23 Yes, we could. And sometimes that was cool. Yeah, sometimes it, yeah, it looked really good. This is a good one for what you were just talking about. The mom, Betsy Palmer, was doing a play in Toronto at the time of Jason X was filming. According to Palmer, one of the producers contacted her about possibly reprising her role as Pamela Vorhees. Most likely in the hollow simulation, they did not come to an agreement and the character was not included in the film. Dang, because I was expecting that.
Starting point is 00:10:54 That would have been, that's good. But if not her, why not go with some other buddy from the parents? Right, yeah, totally. I agree. The music played during Jason's first look at the virtual reality camp, Crystal Lake, is the same musical score as the one on Friday to 13th, Part 2. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Once David Cronenberg came on board, he quickly noticed some problems with the script and began rewriting most of the character's lines, according to the director, Jason Isaac. One of those lines was, I want him soft in response to the request to have Jason cryogenically frozen. David Cronenberg was on board for this. I bet you he wrote the line,
Starting point is 00:11:35 Jason Forhees is what's up. Or whatever she said. Yeah, whatever he is going on. She said, Jason fucking Horhees is what's going on. Forge. Forhees, yeah. Welcome to my life. He's a horhees.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Screenwriter Todd Farmer based much of the film on Alien, 1979. See, exactly. Even naming one of the characters whom he also played himself Dallas after Tom Scarrott's character in the Ridley Scott film. That's where they got the trick to have the head. The girl where he's holding her, I was going to make another alien comment to be like, that's exactly what they do in Alien. It was the first time that I saw it was really, really smart what they did. and they obviously pulled that trick for this one.
Starting point is 00:12:20 That's pretty much what I got for you, my babe. All right. All right. Any final thoughts on this? This one. I mean... This is our 10th one in this franchise. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:30 I mean, it was interesting. It was fun. It was different. I liked the kills. Great job on the head stuff. You know, the practical stuff I liked more than that. The one CGI, my biggest one, was when they're in the video game. But maybe it's supposed to look like that.
Starting point is 00:12:46 because they were in a video game. That was cool. I did think that was cool looking actually because they did describe why. Exactly. So are you excited for Freddie versus Jason? Yes, finally.
Starting point is 00:12:55 I'm really excited for that. I hope I feel better by the time we watch it because right now I'm not feeling great, but like I want to be stoked for it. Like the fact that you purged me and I didn't jump once during this is let you know how not well. I am.
Starting point is 00:13:11 You cake. I did a little bit. So I'm doing all right. Be kind in the comments. leave love for Tara. Everybody needs extra support and love sometimes, and especially when we're open about what we need and what we're going through.
Starting point is 00:13:23 It's really admirable. So if you're a huge fan of Tara, which I know all of you guys are, then give a big heart in the comments. We'll see you for Freddie versus Jason. Finally, thank effing goodness. See you later, Rejects. Eric Horstman.
Starting point is 00:13:41 Eric. You know who I would love to travel to space with? It would be you, man. You would talk our ear off the entire time. You'd probably vomit in your space suit on the way. And you know he's not wearing anything else in the space suit. Guy's a pervert. Yeah, it's a perverted man.
Starting point is 00:13:59 He's a nasty man. And he's got his real rejects tattoo all ready for space. We know how it would go. I feel like it'd be an exciting time because if there's anyone who's going to be like a Jason Borky's in space, it's going to be you. Because you're too impatient with people. Oh, yeah. And you've got that machete. You got the machete.
Starting point is 00:14:14 And when you're a space traveler, a big part of it is your tolerance and your patience. So why they would let you go up in the space? I don't know why. Because let's face it, you start massacring all of us. Yes, you would. And everybody else in the space station you don't like anybody, really. I think I've justified why I'd want to go to space with you. Absolutely, because, you know, we both have a death wish.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Who wouldn't want some murder in space? That would be the coolest way to go out, TBH. And if Eric Horstman did it, if they were like this guy who was a big enough fan to get a whole ass tattoo, of these two dudes, followed them to space, killed them, and then wore their flesh for weeks, that would, I mean... Let's face it, man. Space stories are boring. They are.
Starting point is 00:14:56 You ever talk to a guy who came to space? You think it's exciting, but it's really dull. It's mostly just waiting, and there's only one place to be. They probably have two good sentences, and that's about it. Space is the ultimate FOMO place, because you're just trapped one spot, and all you... Just everything possible is out there. But you go with Eric Murder Story. Murder.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Oh, man. Smack you on the butt cheeks and then stab you through the heart. Can't wait to go to space with you, my sick perverted patron man. Let's do it. We'll do the hydrogen, the nitrogen face smash together. It's an iconic kill. We're done.
