Dude, what's your best ASMR? Oh, it hasn't been like a cool. Yeah, we broke it with the laughter. Do you anything else we have to tell them? I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:01:44 Okay, we'll see you guys in a minute. People said that this one was not as good as the first one. I would have to agree on that. People said that this one still is worth watching. I would have to agree on that. We could talk. all about those things before we do. Don't forget to be following us on social media at Real Rejects at the Real Rejects.
Starting point is 00:02:03 Don't forget to pick up your sweatshirts, rejectnation shop.com. Don't forget to like and comment if you haven't already. I read everything you guys have to say. So be kind. Super weird to be somebody who sits and, like, write something mean about somebody else at home. Yeah. Okay, I'm looking.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Donald Fasian. I said it at the ad. I was like Donald Fasian. You did say it. You said Donald something. Okay. Great. What was the name of the,
Starting point is 00:02:27 Look how far Jim Carrey is listed down. Yeah, he's way down there. Benedict Wong, I was right. Thank you. Oh my God. I was like, doesn't that look like a young Benedict Wong? Okay, so I wasn't as off. Daniel Calumia.
Starting point is 00:02:40 So listen, I was right. Did I go three for three? You got him all right. I thought that, but I was wrong about Sidney's winning. Yeah, you were off on that for sure. It was really, really off. Oh, good job, rocks. Good job.
Starting point is 00:02:54 All right. Friends, Peeps, Tara, how are you on? Yeah, I feel, I feel good. It definitely was, uh, definitely is a movie worth watching, but I, if we're comparing it to the first, I remember the first one, I was like cheering my head off and going like, yeah. And I didn't do that at all. I realized that with the pacing of this movie and the way that it was. written certain scenes were probably meant to evoke that kind of reaction, like when they first
Starting point is 00:03:32 all get together and they do like a slow-mo shot of them. Like in the first one, I kind of got goosebumps and was like, let's go. And in this one, I didn't get that. I don't know if they gave us enough time for all the additional characters for that group to feel like a real camaraderie there so that when they start to split off or die or like Jim Carrey dies for example from like the evil team um that maybe we'd feel a little bit more although this movie still had a lot of heart like the stuff with the dad was so bad and I I did not see that coming I thought there's a really what do you mean by bad um like I thought it was a actually bad I thought I thought I thought sorry so I thought it was evil but I also thought it was a very weird move for this movie I did too tone
Starting point is 00:04:22 for what they established, it was like, yeah, they cuss and they, like, fight people and they kill people. But it's fun. But it's fun. It's not like your dad is, gets beat up and you're sent pictures and then he's hung and he's dead. It's like, even though we saw Nicholas Cage's character die and that was her dad, it was totally different. Like in this, I think that the tone was my biggest qualm with it because at one point, like,
Starting point is 00:04:46 the evil Christopher Mins Plaus is like gonna sexually assault that woman and then the dad gets beat up and it's not like we hear about it that he gets killed in prison they show us him hung up
Starting point is 00:05:01 and it's like just the way that they did it I was like wait this went from being like fun comic book a little pulpy like just you know even though it was raunchy and out there it wasn't like those things that are kind of like mm-hmm right and this one was at times but not at other times it was only like
Starting point is 00:05:23 yeah three or four times where I was like huh totally that's because we are the the first thing we find out is that they're selling women and children it's like a sex ring right um you know there was a bunch of different things where I was like I think that it would have it would have served the movie better to not be as deep like dark exact deep is the right word dark like it's just like maybe maybe more fun like the first one but we still love these characters there was a lot more characters this time and I didn't get to know as many of them right at the center of it I love Mindy I love kick ass I even uh I loved Jim Carrey's character and I love Chris Freeman's plus like I think that they're at the core agreed and then everybody else it was kind of there you know
Starting point is 00:06:12 it was like it was sort of like additional team members that I don't know if we need because if we had just spent time with the core again that maybe we would have felt a little bit stronger like when he dies or when they team up together maybe we would have like really cheered and gotten those goosebumps again I don't know it's just about him convincing his best his two best friends we had already known to be part of the crew instead of finding this whole new crew of people because there was those parents who had lost their kid
Starting point is 00:06:39 that was really dark and sad and I was like oh that's a bummer there's that girl night bitch who I you know other than sister died. Yeah, and that's really dark. But, like, we didn't get to spend a lot of time with them. There's Donald's, um, Fasier's character. It's like, I don't know that much about him, um, even though I like him as an actor. Uh, so yeah, it's just like there, there was a lot going on.
Starting point is 00:07:03 And I love the core, but some of the ancillary stuff was like, hmm, mm. Yeah, it's like, I don't know, those additional characters, I don't know how much it added to the story. I don't think it really did, except sure, yeah, he got to mess around with the redhead. once but I'm like that was a fun thing that was that was great wait this was 2013 when was the first one I don't remember but I do like don't get me wrong I still think this movie was a lot of fun yeah and the and the um obviously the fight scenes of the choreography in it and the stunts were great I love how they shoot the fight scenes in this we actually kind of get to see what's going on
Starting point is 00:07:40 I love how they do that um and I it was not nice to see how hit girl was in school and like seeing her kind of in a real life situation, except again, with those a whole girls that were mean to her, I still didn't really get how that added a lot to her character. Oh, we kind of dropped that after they puked. Yeah. They were, they were, they, they puked. Like if they had been part of the villains, they wanted to join the villains because they wanted to do something more. Yeah. Maybe they were planning on doing that for an and follow-up one. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Okay, so this came out in 2013 as opposed to the first one who came out in 2010. Okay. So three years later. And it really makes a difference when you're a kid actor or younger because Chloe Grace Moretz obviously looked completely and drastically different. Absolutely. Just very much so. Okay, let's look at some of the stuff about this.
Starting point is 00:08:36 I'm curious what people had to say. And also want to see some trivia. Let's start with some trivia. Yeah. Some of Red Mist, the slash the motherfucker's nastier moments from the comic. Oh, yeah, this is based off a comic. Yeah, okay. Including murdering children and raping Dave's ex-girlfriend were omitted from the film. Christopher Mitzplaz's reaction to this was literally, oh, thank God.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Yeah. Yeah. I guess if that's in the comic, then they, like, were alluding to it here, but. Yeah, I don't even think they needed to allude to it. Because I'm like, if you're not going to have him in that, don't even have him, like, close. where he brings it up and he starts to like try to get it. I get it's a joke. I try to get hard, but I'm like, it's still icky and in that vein of icky.
Starting point is 00:09:21 So like just get fully rid of it only because tonally, again, like what we said before. I like this from Jim Carrey. The lines try to have fun. Otherwise, what's the point? And yeah, there's a dog on your balls. We're both improvised by him. Love it. Evan Peters was unable to reprise his role as Todd Haynes because of conflicting schedule with American Horror Story.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Similarly, Lindsay Fonseca was only available for a brief cameo as Katie Duksamah due to scheduling conflicts with Nikita. Oh, okay. Jim Carrey brought his own props to look like the comic book version of Colonel Stripes and Stars or Stars and Stripes. Mark Miller was actually delighted by Jim Carrey's disapproval of the film's violence. In his own word, Miller described it as, like saying this porno has too much nudity. uh okay let's see in the wake of newtown elementary school shooting in 2012 jim carey refused to take part in any promotion campaigns for this film because he felt he could no longer support its violent content carry is known for his personal distaste for guns and gun violence not unlike his movie character in the movie the only gun that the girl handles in the film is unloaded no yeah yeah oh wow that makes sense and also um i We didn't know he was in the movie, and that's probably why, because he didn't do any press for it. Right.
Starting point is 00:10:46 And, yeah, Newtown, the shooting being in 2012, so this being the next year. Yeah, that makes sense. Thank you to Huell for sponsoring today's video. Now, guys, I'm going to give you all the God's honest truth of how this sponsorship came to be. Sponsorship came to be. We got contacted about basically partnering up with Huell. Before we agreed to anything, the very first thing I said was I would like to try the product first. I did a Instagram post on our Real Rejects one.
Starting point is 00:11:15 It was the first time you see me trying the Hewell product. Basically going like, hey, we might not partner with them. This is not a paid Instagram post. But I just wanted to try it since a lot of you guys ask for, like, health recommendations now and the know kind of what I take only because of the fact that I'm vegetarian. I have very limited protein options. So I gave it a shot and ended up loving it. Primarily the chocolate one.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Wow, this is really, this is a really great one. One of the best things about it is that, yes, it's prepackaged. And a lot of times when it comes to like the prepackaged bottles, I'm not a big fan of them normally, which he got me drinking on camera, is one of these, which takes a very long time to put together and can often get messy. It's just not aesthetically pleasing, but I'm trying to pack like a lot of vitamins and fiber protein. The best part about Hewell is a lot of what I try to pack into this one giant shake is already available in this little bottle. Often taste better than what I can actually assemble myself.
Starting point is 00:12:05 It actually tastes great. It's got a high protein intake count as well. And you know what? Bread new bottle. If you guys can see, it's filled to the top. This is how good it tastes. Now normally, what you want to do is spread it out. But if you want it in one go, it is just as good.
Starting point is 00:12:32 That tastes really freaking good. Thank you so much response from this video. The one thing they want me to say is this is you can get 15% off fuel today. percent off Hewled today with Code Rejects at Hewel.com slash Rejects. Fuel your best performance with Hewle today. They are great and I am already almost out of the many bottles they sent me. If you guys do go check them out at Hewell.com slash rejects. You'll see they got a whole bunch more items available as well. And if they taste anything as good as this, I'm going to be a very happy customer for a very, very long time. So join me on this health journey.
Starting point is 00:13:01 According to Chloe Grace Moretz, a sequel to Kickass 2 would be unlikely because it was, as she called it, one of the number one pirated movies. of the year, leading to the disappointing box office returns. Flash film debunked the claim, pointing to the fact that Kickass 2 wasn't even among the top 10 most pirated films of 2013, and instead attributed the film's poor box office receipts to the general consensus that the sequel never came close to the energy and smarts of the first one, as put by Germain Lucia at the time of the film's release. However, Matthew Vaughn, director of the first movie, had indicated that he still has plans
Starting point is 00:13:37 for a hit girl prequel and a third kick-ass movie. Oh, hit girl prequel. We're 11 years out, so I don't know what Matthew's doing, but. Well, prequel, who could play a young Chloe Grace Moretz? Like, prequel would be before the first one, so she'd have to be like five. Right. Totally.
Starting point is 00:13:54 Poster seen in Dave's Room, American Jesus, and Superior are two graphic novels written by kick-ass author Mark Miller. That's cool. Yeah. In the comic, the first kick-ass, Dave states that he likes the television series Scrubs in the film, Dr. Gravity is played by Donald Fasian, who also plays Turk in Scrubs. Yeah, that's, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:14:15 That is cool. The motherfucker's layer was actually a warehouse at Pinewood Studios following completion of filming. It was demolished in order to build a new soundstage. Oh. I want to look up, I'm curious, the Rotten Tomato scores for these two movies, the first one and the second one. Any guesses for the first one?
Starting point is 00:14:34 first one i would say it's 89% for the you're turning critic or audience oh well i'll go with audience i'm going to say 89% i think it should be higher i'm going to go the first one for um the critic is 77 and audience is 81 oh okay what do you think for for this one i'm going to go and what do you think for critic i think they're going to be like 60 for this one the audience is 57 and the critic is 33 wow i don't think it was that bad but it definitely wasn't as good as the first says kick as to fall short in its attempt to emulate the original's unique blend
Starting point is 00:15:23 of ultraviolence and ironic humor yeah that's a little bit how we feel yeah but i feel like fall short doesn't make 33 yeah i mean give me a break they're still a lot of good that happens in this movie that's cool to look at which is like it's still kickass you know like come on now it still kicks ass uh i'm looking up if there's any plans for kickass three as of now um as of april some cast members have expressed interest in returning including aaron taylor johnson chloe grace morrette's um but it seems like dead in the water right now yeah i would love to see them come back. Me too. You know, it's been 10 years in the movie verse and what are they doing? Right. I would really like, especially if they found a way to make the script have the brevity and the kick-assness as the first one, but maybe showing us both them super grown up, maybe as like adults and still kicking butt. I don't know, but some like just a smart script that brings sort of the lightness and the lightness and the,
Starting point is 00:16:32 fun of the first one would be great. And goes back to the core a little bit more as opposed to like her friends in school who were assholes. Yeah. I'd rather just see them. Yeah. You know, just our core that we would have been fun to focus on. Yeah, totally. Any final thoughts for the people? No, this was still a fun one. I don't think it deserves 33% or whatever that was. I think that's ridiculous. It's still a fun movie to watch. No. If you watch the first one, you watch this one, the first one's going to live on in infamy. The second one is still a good time. Another favorite to ask you guys, obviously we are the Screaming Queens, the horror horrors, the Sheejects. We do watch mostly horror movies together, which we absolutely love.
Starting point is 00:17:11 But we are branching out a little bit and we wanted to do this kick-ass franchise. Now that we've watched one and two, is there any other movie that you really feel like that you think that we should cover? Something that you could see us really liking. Maybe it's a little outside of our wheelhouse, just like horror used to be. And then we got into it. Totally. Anything that you want to see our reaction on. Let us know in the comments.
Starting point is 00:17:32 and anything else, however you felt about this movie. We'd love to hear. Maybe you like this one better than the first one. Curious. Maybe. There's somebody out there. Other than that, thank you guys so much for being here, and we'll see you later, Ejects. Adelia Chamberlain.
Starting point is 00:17:48 If there's someone I think we should be fighting the streets with, protecting people against crime, it's going to be Adelia Chamberlain. You know why, John? Because Adelia, she might come across like a soft-spoken angel who's constantly walking on fluffy-ass pillows. But that is not true. We know there's a berserker rage residing within you. That's just willing to come out.
Starting point is 00:18:13 I just can't wait to unleash some pain on someone in public with cameras pointed. You just want to crush someone skull. And I can feel it. I can feel the rage building within you. Ooh, you might even cross the line and kill someone who might not deserve it. Oh, no. anyone who you want to still be fighting on your side when the Times call for it. Adelia.
Starting point is 00:18:37 When the cartels coming for John and Greg, it's Adelia who's going to go in there and annihilate. It doesn't matter how many bullets you put in her. So keep coming at you. To bring us justice. Adelia, no more of this soft-spoken heart of yours. Uh-uh. We know that it's time for the Hulk to be unleashed.
Starting point is 00:18:57 We know it's time for the Wolverine to come out of its cage. we know it is time for the Mike Tyson before Jake Paul to come out and start 20 years ago Mike Tyson yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:19:11 whoop it and then you can come and beat us up just for fun you don't think for you know what I'm thankful for Delia you don't thinkful for what do you think for her fists
Starting point is 00:19:21 oh fist of fury fist of ophelia fist of Ophelia Fillesia is my grandmother that was the very Shakespeare I was great of a body experiences i hoped it would be oh no but adelia but adelia is gonna top of that's some bonding
