The Reel Rejects - Marvel NYCC Announcements, Batman 2 Is Stopped, Lanterns Exposes More Idiots

Episode Date: October 10, 2026

Marvel and DC have given us plenty to talk about this week, and naturally, the internet is handling everything with its usual level of maturity. We're breaking down the big Marvel Television announce...ments from New York Comic Con 2026, including the new live-action Zodiac series, three upcoming Marvel Zombies spin-off specials, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2, featuring the return of the symbiote and Venom! On the DC side, James Gunn confirms he's already writing his next movie after Man of Tomorrow, while production on The Batman Part II has been temporarily halted as director Matt Reeves steps away to deal with a personal family matter. We discuss the news, the concerns surrounding the movie, and some of the rather ridiculous reactions online. And finally, HBO's Lanterns has aired its season finale! After I posted a video asking whether the DCU's depiction of Hal Jordan was disrespectful to the character, the reactions on X were... something else. We discuss the show's controversial creative decisions, the legitimate criticisms, and why apparently having a nuanced opinion on the internet is asking WAY too much. We go over some Vision Quest & Avengers Doomsday stuff as well :) Follow Coy Jandreau:  Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@coyjandreau?l... Starting point is 00:00:00 What is going on there, Reject Nation? We are back for another Real Rejects podcast. What do we get? What do we have to? I mean, New York Comic Con just happened. And there's only one thing we're going to talk about, which is Marvel announcements, of course. That's what happens.
Starting point is 00:00:16 What else would we talk about? And a few days ago, Matt Reeves and the Batman News, he's taking a pause on it for personal reasons. We'll just share some thoughts on that. I saw when prepping for this, there was like Green Lantern. The canceled show that was like cooking for a bit. I didn't even know about this. Oh, yeah. I think of the cast and everybody.
Starting point is 00:00:36 It's like what, what's this? What's going on? Yeah. I feel like I'm, oh, James Gunn said something about working on next thing. That'll be like five minutes of our life that we'll talk about.
Starting point is 00:00:44 And then I want to talk about a bunch of morons on the internet. Yeah. My favorite. After I put out a lantern's video and I was like, yeah. Now it's my turn to go after a bunch of dumbasses. Greg's going to be me this week. Not as,
Starting point is 00:00:59 not as angry. Oh. But I was excited for you. I'm not like heated. Oh. But I do. I do. Now this is exactly flipped.
Starting point is 00:01:09 I definitely had this moment with you when you weren't heated. And I was like, I'm disappointed. Cois not heated. I was promised rage. I'm not rageful. I'm more like I can't wait to use a bunch of evidence to show how stupid a bunch of people are. That's more we're on that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:01:25 You're like detective mode. Yeah. I'm like really logical about it of how there's just a lot of just flat out. They're too stupid and know how stupid they are. Yeah. Just stupid. They choke in the drink water.
Starting point is 00:01:37 These are, these are embarrassments to carbon, man. There are a lot of people that just shouldn't be. I had a, I had a, so I was gone for New York, came back and I don't know, maybe I'll mention it at some point. Probably, maybe sometime in the future,
Starting point is 00:01:54 I don't really give a shit about revealing stuff about my life. But I had a thing happen. just yesterday of filming and it was a real life tragedy that in my life and yeah so now I want to use all that anger and use it to talk about a bunch of dumbasses
Starting point is 00:02:11 channel it wherever you want like I'm not really mad at them no but I will use it to talk about them anyway let's let's go into it man we got some Marvel announcements here well they aired vision quests I think the first couple episodes there
Starting point is 00:02:29 Yeah, there are early reactions coming out. Okay. And I can reveal that we, we were fortunate enough just, just now to watch the first couple episodes of Vision Quest. And it's good. That's all I'll say. I don't want to reserve anything. I want to reserve for the reaction, but it's good. I'm going to just say, I told you so.
Starting point is 00:02:47 It is coy absolutely deserves and I told you so because I was not. Since January, I've been so excited for this show. Since Wanda Vision and I would argue I've been excited for a vision show. But since January, I've been like, God. I think that's going to surprise people. And here we are. Surprised, but not I.
Starting point is 00:03:04 After I saw the trailer, I was more excited for it. But yeah, you've been saying it forever. I like the Vision Quest name. I was like, guys, I think this is going to be one of the good Marvel shows
Starting point is 00:03:12 to end off this like phase because we're going into Doomsday. This is the last pre-Doomsday MCU show. And now we have some post. And we have our Wanda Vision series, this season reactions all going to be in one video going up on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:03:24 And then I rewatched all of Agatha, which I thought was so much, like, I remember when we reacted to it on the first half, we weren't that into it. But I was like so into, I guess because knowing what we were going and whatever. Hindsight allows you to connect it sooner. If you like, you know, you will like it. And who I am now will receive something differently compared to then.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Like there's a part of the road to doomsday fun is, oh, I love this then, but I don't love it now. And then there's other things where I'm like, I didn't love this then, but I actually like this one a lot now. Black Widow being a great example. I'm like, I actually like this one a lot. So good. So yeah, there's a, I don't know, I'm losing my train of thought. We have new Marvel shows. Let's talk about Marvel shows, guys, Marvel shows.
Starting point is 00:04:06 So what's the first? You're friendly neighborhood, Spider-Man's coming back. January. January, just in time for us to gain some Christmas weight. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know here's content creators who work in the Marvel space like us. It's going to be hell on earth for getting this shit out there. Because it's Dumesday.
Starting point is 00:04:24 And then, because it's not just a Dune's Day review. Then it's going to be like, what are the Doomsday stuff? could we talk about Christmas is in a few days. Christmas is coming up in a few days. What do we do? We're going to work through the 23rd. I mean, because I also thought this is another new tomorrow, but Adventures of Cliff Booth comes out and I'm like, there's no way I'm getting a screener.
Starting point is 00:04:40 I'm definitely going to be here watching Adventures of Cliff Booth. But that we're having, we're having that. And then we come back, your friendly neighborhood spider, man. January 13th. Let's go. And the poster has Venom. Do you have that poster, Ray? We asked Ray to do 20 things at once.
Starting point is 00:04:54 And one of them was get the poster, but then we asked him a bunch of other things. and now we're going to get that poster. Uh, your friend, type in your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. There it is. Second row on the second one in. Which one? Boom. That's a, that's the official poster.
Starting point is 00:05:07 That's real as fuck. Oh, damn. That's why I was so excited to tell you about it. Because that's real as fuck. How cool is that? I'm excited to revisit the first season of this show. Me too, because it's been two years. That's it really?
Starting point is 00:05:19 Year and a half. It was summer. Wow. And it's winter approaches. Well, this is one of the biggest surprises. In terms of Marvel, in terms of Marvel, TV and animation. I remember this being one of the biggest surprises we had. It was I mean it came out right before X-Men. Oh yeah. They were on a roll. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:34 They were on a roll. Two is already done. So it's been a year and a half. So it'll be almost two years by the time this rolls around, I think. Well, it's because they actually put a lot of TLC into making sure the animation can get it's going to look fucking solid. Like it's a beautifully animated show. It's is incredibly well written. I'm barely excited that's coming back their time and they're going to come back. I think as strong as the first season. Do you think they'll get a third season? This stuff that's a show that could get a lot. But you know that this is like a ex-pinned X-Men, that was like announces like two and three are going to be done back to back. That's true. But I hope so, because I mean, I feel like
Starting point is 00:06:06 Spider-Man is bigger than he's ever been, two and a half billion dollar Spider-Man movie just bad. Yeah, it's crazy. And like Spider-Man is the probably most iconic character in comics, I think still, like him and Batman. And if the show is good and they're making money, I don't, I don't see anything that would stop it, especially because it seems like Amazon is focusing
Starting point is 00:06:22 on live action. So like, there's no reason for Disney Plus to be like, well, we don't want money. Like the show seems to be cost effective and it's Spider-Man. So I hope just word of mouth gets more people on it. Because I do feel like it wasn't as big of a splash as it felt to us. Like it felt like one of those shows were like, guys, trust us. And everybody's like, I don't know. It was one of those who watched it.
Starting point is 00:06:42 They really engaged with it. There was like a, it's all coming back to me. Not all fragments are coming back to me. There was like symbiote stuff towards the end, right? At the very end it was teased. So yeah, okay. So they're following through with the venom. Yeah, we haven't met Flash yet.
Starting point is 00:06:56 but he's in the first trailer. Oh. Sorry to Flash. Eddie Brock is in the first trailer. How do you know that? Because there's an image that looked just like Eddie Brock in one of the trailers.
Starting point is 00:07:04 There's a trailer? There's a trailer for your friendly neighborhood Spiderman? Can you type Eddie Brock, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and see if I just like had a stroke and dream this? Because I think, I think I'm right. Eddie Brock,
Starting point is 00:07:14 your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Check the tapes. Really? You got this, Ray. Yeah, I made Ray type. After learning that Ray doesn't like to type, which I get, there he is. Eddie Brock. First look. That's an Eddie Brock, that is.
Starting point is 00:07:29 He looks so pretty. He's a pretty boy. So pretty. Look how good he is. I don't feel like there's ever been a character who has been reinterpretated in animation. So many different times. Like his appearance. There's one image right here of the middle one. That's another great example of like here's another version of Eddie Brock reading this. Donnie Cates made him pretty. Okay, there you go. Like long-haired.
Starting point is 00:07:58 He was like a fucking Fabio. And then I think of him as in Todd McFarlane as being like a bruiser. Just like a fucking feral, like beast of a dude all rage, not pretty. And then in Spider-Man, what's the Spider-Man run I'm reading? Oh, Ultimate Spider-Man. Ultimate Spider-Man. Yeah. It's a little pervert.
Starting point is 00:08:16 Yeah, yeah. It's like a little weasel. He's like the opposite of Peter Parker. Like they made him like a little shrively nerd. Yeah. So I just never know what Eddie brought. is going to look like whatever they do. Like there's certain very,
Starting point is 00:08:29 you kind of know what a Peter Parker type is supposed to look like. Like you know what a Superman type is supposed to look like. But Eddie Brock, his look just constantly changes. Blonde. Guy doesn't even need to be blonde. That well, like how blonde is a question, you know. What's the saturation of the blonde? Skinny Jacked.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Like they've changed it so much. I'm excited for him, man. And they have a new thing coming out. It's called Zodiac. I have no idea what this is, but it's got a bunch of spy symbols in it. Yeah, they've been kind of on the down, though, about whatever it is. It's their next show? 2028.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Guys, remember, remember, Disney Plus is no longer doing Marvel shows. Coming in 2028, Zodiac. Is this a live action? I think so. Okay, so I have a little bit of information. So it is a global spy thriller. Boom. Looks like spy shit.
Starting point is 00:09:22 The title is actually not a code name. It is a real title. Okay. And the O is the segmented wheel like the Zodiac chart. Okay. Do you think Robert Toney Jr. is to reprises his role from David Fischer's Zodiac? And Mark Ruffalo.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Yes. Bring the back. And Jake Jillanaha as Mysterio. Yes. There's a lot of ways you can do it. We did Banner Stark and Mysterio in Zodiac. So a couple of things that if you were to go from Zodiac in the comics, the Zodiac Cartel, Cornelius Van Lund's criminal organization,
Starting point is 00:09:51 with leaders named after the signs. Scorpio was often James. Jake Fury, which is Nick Fury's brother, wielding the zodiac key. There's a zodiac villain. There's like a guy named Zodiac. He's like fairly recent, the 2020s. There's a Zodiac like bad guy. He's in a moon night.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Oh, cool. But I doubt they're going to go that way. The Great Wheel from Jonathan Hickman's secret warriors, a secret counsel of clandestine group. And one of that means zodiac. So there's little hints. I don't know. To me, it probably just is like an amalgamation. It looks like a bunch of spy symbols.
Starting point is 00:10:23 to me this is going to be dust. Like, I don't think it has anything. Yeah, I don't think it's got anything. It's like how James Gunny's Garden to the Galaxy. And it was like, this isn't really the main line of. You know, but now what hopefully this like does it in a way that repurposes to be something. I think they're trying to fix secret invasion. Like they're trying to do like their.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Because they also said they wanted to do a lantern show. Did they? Marvel's like the, the rumor was like a spy thriller two guy lead like lanterns call. Oh, that's what you mean by that? Like a true detective type of show. They, there was a leak about that type of show. This seems to line. with that.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Hmm. Are you excited for it? I'm not excited, but I'm looking, I'm interested. I'm interested, but I'm more, you know how you are this week with I told you so's to dummies? I'm more like stop listening to people that say something is news and like just type it and send and the people going like, that's true. Like it was, it didn't make any sense to me that everybody was for weeks like some article
Starting point is 00:11:16 said there was no more Disney Plus shows. And then like two weeks later, Daredeville Born again season three got announced at the last season. Everybody's like, see, see? And I was like, maybe fucking wait. Like, and then the first con after that it outspin, here's a fucking show. Like, why would you have an entire platform at all these IPs and not use it at all? I can see scaling down.
Starting point is 00:11:35 I can see, but like, I don't like that people think that they can just say a thing and be like, that's true. It drives me insane, that the fake news of it all. Well, with Daredevil Borning in Season 3, I'm not going to say who I talk to, I have it on a reasonably all right authority that, yeah, there was. always a plan to actually have it where they could end it after season three and it seems that that's a choice that they actually went with even seems like they're i saw them they all went on stage like the defenders and stuff outside of my culture but the way they announced it as the final season didn't seem like it was like a bummer of people people people but then charlie cox
Starting point is 00:12:11 come out and said well i wouldn't want to piss off the saved daredevil people if i were them and i was like oh yeah charlie cox came out and incited some shit which i was proud of that's cool yeah So I hear that, you know, it was a natural place to end it. But also he's clearly like, I'd like more. It was the kind of thing where it was a natural place to end it. However, if they wanted to continue on, they would have liked to have continued on. So at least we'll be getting, it's not just going to end. Right.
Starting point is 00:12:39 We won't have a Spider-Man animated series or marriage movies falling. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. So it'll at least end in a way where it feels like it has could included. Yeah. So we got that. And then there's other Marvel animated ones, apparently, annually, because they had such success with, oh, it's going to be on three Halloweens. Love that, finally, acknowledging seasons. They're going to do, because they had Marvel zombies, which was a huge surprise for many people.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Yeah. It was huge. It was huge. And rightfully so. They just gained more popularity as time went on. It feels like an Avengers level event, finally. So they have, it's crazy because what if just seemed to dilute so much over time? in season two.
Starting point is 00:13:19 Yeah. Like when we found out those that we, like it was in a market like, I don't know. And then like zombies is the opposite where it's like more of that specific thing. And it's neat. Well, really quick. Well, they're doing Marvel zombies, the winter soldier. Marvel zombies, the fist of conchew from the moon night world. Cool.
Starting point is 00:13:33 And this is Guardians of the Galaxy font. So we don't know for sure. Marvel Zombies the last guardian. Oh, yeah. And we don't know exactly which guardian that might be. Craglin. Yeah. You think so?
Starting point is 00:13:48 They're going to go full craggling now. Shog God by himself, solo cracklin adventure. I'm down, whatever you want to do. Oh, Winter Soldier was also in the what-if version of that season. And I remember that what-if episode being kind of a disappointment for people. And then the spin-off comes out. So I think that's why a lot of people weren't super into, we weren't super excited about it because they were kind of disappointed about what season one did.
Starting point is 00:14:13 And then the spin-off comes out and we all like, we're like, this is great. This is surprisingly awesome. And now they're really embracing that. And what's also neat is that it's not like the way the fucking comics are that, you know, of what Marvel Zombies is. This is really like its own thing. But it's cool to see like an embrace in a different direction that they decided to take with it that is more mature and accessible. It's not like hard R or something like that. So Geerley is a fucking great release model.
Starting point is 00:14:37 Every Halloween. It's confidence man. Yeah, the confidence of three years, but also like we're not getting a board of it. Once a year, Marvel zombie is something like I'm a very casual Marvel zombies guy. Like even the Kirkman run. but that special blew me away and now I'm excited for a yearly Halloween thing I like missed the traditions
Starting point is 00:14:53 when you're a kid and there's like Nick at Night was all Halloween themed stuff or like the Disney channel they do all the Halloween episodes like this gives you something to kind of anchor to the holiday true like just the specialness of it being Halloween is also cool I don't feel like it'll tie into any like multiversal bigger universe stuff but the fist conchew sounds like it could be fun
Starting point is 00:15:12 I don't need shit to keep time in your shit I want to enjoy shit shit. That is, you think this is the kind, the Marvel Zombies show didn't have a spinoff, right? It was a subtitle, right? It was just Marvel Zombies.
Starting point is 00:15:24 I believe it was just Marvel Zombies. It was a four-parter. Yeah. Yeah, we doesn't need, Fisda Conchie is probably the one. Here's my prediction is that it was way more familiarity when it comes to Winter Soldier
Starting point is 00:15:39 and, and fucking Guardians of the Galaxy. 100%. Because Moon Night just had that one show and Conchie was introduced in that. but I feel like Fista Conchie will probably be the biggest surprise. I have a feeling that that will be the one that people will go. Like, whoa, this is so much cool than I expected.
Starting point is 00:15:57 It's the most one-to-one. It's like the realm of the dead. And they had Blade Night in the there and which was a huge. And that was the most blade we've had since Wesley. Do you think these will actually connect though? To each other? Yeah, we'll carry on. I don't know if they will, but it'd be cool if they each ended with like next year on.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Also, I think we should start like, getting people's patience back like i think we need to start building back like not dumping everything at once not like if we do something like the next year build up to it that builds a year of audience that also gets you to replay the last one like start building in like infrastructure again this might not be the last of announcements of what is to come in next year and i'm not talking to her new york comic on what i'm what i'm getting at is uh it does feel light on marvel tv though like very very light like i I understand what you're saying. I just think the extreme was the thing I was bothered by.
Starting point is 00:16:52 Like this feels very light. It was just, it's insane that they were like, no, we're done. Like that. I don't think that makes sense. I do think slowing down makes sense. But there's no live action show for next year. So yeah. No, that's not an extra.
Starting point is 00:17:03 That's 2028, right? Yeah, next year is Born Again. Oh, the final season of Born Again, right. Okay. So we have your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Yep. And then we have Born Again. And next in season three.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Which is. Yep. I hope. I think I've heard from the people that, working on it that they acknowledge that season two was kind of like the first season of Born Again. Yeah. Where it was like turmoil and upheaval and like different
Starting point is 00:17:25 teams and that season three they're all really excited about. Okay. So from my clandestine sources, season three is like what they want out because they're like we love what we built. Well my one worry about it then. I can firmly believe that it's 100% possible to do a season three
Starting point is 00:17:41 that is on the same quality of season one. Yeah. What I would hope that doesn't happen is what happened with Born Again, though. People don't tune in and you're like, well. Yeah, because Born again, season one wasn't that impactful to the point where people wanted to show up for season, even though season two is great. Now we're seeing what's happening with season three. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:59 And season two numbers were definitely a lot lower. No, that's fair. And that's why they're slowing now. Like, I mean, this is clearly a response to the market. Yeah. Then after every time something comes out, they're going to announce that it's canceled. Dude. It's the Marvel TV formula now.
Starting point is 00:18:10 I'm, I just, I mean, this is a little enough amount of stuff. I could see them not canceling it. But like the fact that it's, what, five things? Well, if Vision Quest comes out and is a huge success because we all know Wanda Vision was a phenomenon, but a Vision Quest comes out and is a huge success, I think that will get the Marvel people to rethink what should we, maybe we should do a little bit more with the live action terrain. Yeah, I agree. Because Vision Quest is good. Vision is great, but the fact that the only show they've announced is Zodiac, which is an unknown. That's odd.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Like, you know what I mean? Like doesn't get maybe go like TV is back. Yeah. Like filmmaker artistic side in me is like, cool. But like I could see that being because of Doomsday. We don't know what the post-Dombsday world is. That's also a factor is like between Doomsday and Secret Wars is fucking barren land. Like we don't know what the world looks like at the end of 2028 if they keep that release date.
Starting point is 00:19:04 Sorry, 27. That's even sooner. It's the fact that Doomsday is 14 months away. I mean that Secret Wars is 14 months away. We don't know what follows. And it's hard to make announcements if they don't want to give away what secret Wars even is. Like, Secret War should be kind of a, so I'm glad we're not getting too much because
Starting point is 00:19:21 I, I, Marvel zombies doesn't reveal shit. The X-Men and Spider-Man doesn't reveal shit. Like, and the fact that the only show that was announced to Zodiac means we still don't know what a post-Secret War's Marvel is. I want to take this time to talk about something that was either Joe or Anthony Russo, who, who did an interview where it was, um, is typed out, right? So he said it was planned all along and that's all these videos going out for like a couple weeks That like they're trying to gaslight the audience
Starting point is 00:19:52 So I decided to go okay, let me read this and I was like This dude's clearly making a joke Even in text format as clearly as As two people who have been incredibly critical and we've gotten so much shit over our feelings and worries over two Day. Clearly a joke. I will be on the record defending whichever Russo brothers said. Yeah. It was obviously a joke, man. Like it was said like with a laugh font. Like it is crazy. Because it was following whatever one of them said about like, yeah, we didn't have these ideas. We didn't think about it. And then going into it, they were basically talking about like over the time they started having ideas.
Starting point is 00:20:33 So clearly talking about how it wasn't planned and then they started coming over ideas. And then the following line was it was planned. It's clearly just a sarcastic joke. and but the amount of videos I saw of people do people I know yeah who were doing videos of like oh my god they're trying to gas like I don't think this time they are pretty sure this was a joke yeah dude everything I've everything I've covered post and game encore about Marvel has been so exhausting because everyone in the comments is just like yeah we're not have you decide for doomsday well you think that's stupid I'm like guys you're just man this is this is not gonna be a fun run up to doomsday if this is exhausting in October like fuck December And there's a, there is a new surge now of, you know, Endgame was always bad.
Starting point is 00:21:19 Yeah. What the fuck? You know, I always hated the ending. You know, it really ruined as Captain America. Oh, now we're trying to take down Avengers. Endgame. That happens at every popular movie. It does.
Starting point is 00:21:30 But of course now, like there's already videos that have existed for a few years now. For once since that game came out that have talked about why end games terrible and whatever the hell they have to say, which is fine. I respect a lot of the opinions. And there's a good amount that is factions I would agree with. but now it seems like there's a much bigger rise now for your endgame. Max never as good as you thought. Yeah. So who knows?
Starting point is 00:21:51 Doomsday season I don't think will be as fun as I thought it was going to be a year ago. I was really excited to like have an Avengers movie and now I'm like, I don't think I'm going to enjoy the experience of the coverage or I'm worried about the movie, but even the act of like not being excited about the fandom experience. Like part of the fun is Marvel movies is like the community and the celebration and all that stuff. And I feel like if I don't love it 100%, I will be flat. as a traitor. And if I do like love it, then it'll just be people being like, well, you were excited
Starting point is 00:22:18 for doom. And I'm like, I just, I want to be able to be honest about my experience of building to it. And I can't without people. And then like when it comes out, that I just feel like whatever review and whatever experience I have will be just. So it'll be good to have Christmas right after. Yeah. It'll be good to just like turn it off.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Like I'll just like make money off the comments and leave. I heard a, I listened to the Fandango interview with the Russo brothers. And that was the most that it got. me truly intrigued that they might have something special up their sleep here i like the guys like i really like the rousseau's a lot like i've gotten to interview them a bunch i've gotten to present with them a bunch like i enjoy them it's the fans that's good thing disney finally paid us and now we can start talking good about yeah yeah thanks disney marvel zombies the last guardian coming soon i've never been this hype for a show guys i don't even like the guardians of the galaxy
Starting point is 00:23:09 trilogy my favorite in the mccc but now i'm excited because of marvel zombies the last Guardian never been more resubscribe Disney Plus all right well that's down leave your thoughts what else did we say we want to talk about that was the marvel section that was the DC show oh we don't know and they also so Deadpool will be an X-Men 3 not as in season 3 season 3 yeah that's confusing that's clear that up there's two X-Men 3's so yeah he'll be an X-Men season 3 I guess as an actual character now instead of just some like thing that morphs into. Morph appearance. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:45 I'm very excited about that. Do you think Ryan Reynolds would do it? No, but I'd like him to. His voice is just way too synonymous. It's so unique too. Like his voice is both unique and synonymous. But Nolan North's a great Deadpool. Oh yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Oh, I forgot about Nolan North. Yeah, he's really good. That would make me happy because that's more of an OG like that fits the motif. So I'd love if Nolan North came back. Yep. We acknowledged it, but there we know. We've acknowledged that movie and I got no real opinions about it. Yay.
Starting point is 00:24:17 The funniest episode we'll get from X-Men 97. I'm excited for it because I love Deadpool, but I'm also excited. They waited until this long, so it didn't become like, we made an accident show because Deadpool. Like, this feels more organic. Okay, so James Gunn, I know you and John last week, great episode, talked about the Paramount as now owning Warner Brothers, your new boss, coy. Skydance.
Starting point is 00:24:37 And James Gunn did say. that he's already writing his next DC film. Man does not like rest. I don't know how he does it. I don't. I actually don't. I've on record and off record asked him and he just doesn't like free time. Like he enjoys work.
Starting point is 00:24:54 Same thing I was listening to interviews with Mike Flanagan. Yeah. I've just like he has to do it in between like making flights and press colleagues. He was trying to get the missed script to his producers by October 31st. Wow. He's doing his walk. It's promote carry. Like this is insane.
Starting point is 00:25:09 I have a question. Are you over? Typing off sides. Yeah. Just like this skill to hop into it. Yeah. And like that's, I mean,
Starting point is 00:25:17 I've always been so impressed with James's ability to have versatile content. Do you, what do you think the project of Manit Tomorrow would be though? I mean, I assume. I don't know. And clearly he's just starting.
Starting point is 00:25:29 Or like, I don't know where he is. But clearly this isn't done enough anyone would know. So this isn't. I would imagine it's like a build from Man of Tomorrow. And if, and if the Superman movie leads to Manit Tomorrow. and that seems to have like a good
Starting point is 00:25:40 robust idea of like Lex Luthor as the lead, not like singular lead but like Lex Luthor seems to be a much bigger factor and more of his POV in this one and then like it seems like a companion to Superman. I imagine the third film would be something that is either completely not Superman
Starting point is 00:25:56 or the escalation from that. Like if there is an ending that has like a bunch of characters then it will feel like a natural progression to go bigger. But I can also see him be like okay we've done Superman for like a bunch of movies in a row because the way that the nature of Man of Tomorrow feels like it's a pair. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:12 Doesn't feel like it sets up a trilogy. But movies are kind of trilogy based. Supergirl feels like the what was supposed to be like the Agatha all the long of the trilogy. So to me, I think of movies as trilogy. So I could either see Man of Tomorrow being the soft trilogy with Supergirl or I could see it being the middle and then like you got to go big and like then you have your big event movie. But without any data of Man of Tomorrow, I can't imagine
Starting point is 00:26:36 what the third in a super would be. But I also think he could be doing a total left field. Like he, when we look at his work, it's creature commandos into peacemaker into Superman. Those are very intentionally so fucking different. I imagine he might want like a pallet cleanser and not write a super thing. So then you wouldn't be doing a giant event,
Starting point is 00:26:53 tent pole team thing that I'm, I imagine the internet right now is saying like justice league and Titans and like all the big team stuff that would follow. But to me, the way he writes, he'd want something that would feel like a left field. Like something that feels completely unlike Superman to cleanse his palate. What group is Maxwell Lord running in?
Starting point is 00:27:12 Is it Justice Society? Yeah. Or no, Justice League International. I just. It is Justice League International that is running. I believe, right? I don't feel like they ever said.
Starting point is 00:27:20 I think it's Justice Society. Is it just the right? I feel like we'd all know if it was Justice League. What team does Maxxel Lord run? Because the big, the big conversation has been like when it's Justice League coming. I believe it's JSA, right? Go to all please.
Starting point is 00:27:38 Justice League International. No, no, no, no, no, no. put in Superman. Oh, you're talking about the movie version. What else what I fucking care
Starting point is 00:27:45 about right now? Justice's just as gang is what you're right. Oh, that's none of the questions you ask. Maxwell Lord. Well,
Starting point is 00:27:51 we're talking about the fucking but Justice League International is what I think they're building to. I know, but I asked what is Max what team is Maxwell Lord running?
Starting point is 00:27:59 You're talking about the Superman movies. Like what about internet? Why would I suddenly be like, hey, what comic? Because Maxwell Lord
Starting point is 00:28:04 is barely in the movie so far. I know, but that's a team thing. What did you think? established. He was asking me about a minor moment in the movies or like what is Maxwell Lord known for?
Starting point is 00:28:17 Jesus Christ. Good answer. Ray's just going to agree because he's going to conflict. He agreed to both of us. Yeah. That's what Ray. Which I support.
Starting point is 00:28:25 I support Ray. Agree with both of us. He can't. It doesn't make sense, but I support him. I'm kind of under the impression you might magnify whatever the hell he's been building here
Starting point is 00:28:34 for the next one. That's what you feel like people are going to assume he's doing. Okay. And I'm saying, He went from creature commandos to Superman and peacemaker. Like that is him being like, okay, cleanse the palette from big tent pole movie into some weird shit. So I could see him going back to some weird.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Do you know what I mean? Like he seems to alternate. Okay. I don't think he'd want to live in one type for too long. You don't feel like. I don't like phrasing questions like that. Do you feel, you don't feel like versus do you feel like? Do you feel perhaps that paramount?
Starting point is 00:29:10 might want since this got this merger that they might want him to do more of a team up movie i imagine that has been a three days of conversations i imagine the conversations are nuts right now yeah like i i i am sure but you got a job now james got well i mean i i'm really glad of my like the way the hierarchy of power is uh you know the dc i get to find out when it makes sense for me to know publicly the stuff like this so I don't have to lie because like they don't know what's going on yet. I might not know for six months, which means people will probably know in six months in two days. Like there's nothing that's cooking that is in any way. So to me it's exciting because right now like this is a new studio.
Starting point is 00:29:57 Like to me this is like a brand new everything. And that's so exciting because like I don't know what that was going to be two years down the line from the Warner Brothers plan. Like I don't have 2028's original plan. So I don't have to lie. like when when the paramount version of it comes out I won't have to be like well that changed it's truly a new everything because I don't know what they're making them change
Starting point is 00:30:18 I don't know what the original 10 year plan was you know what I mean like we don't know if any of the fucking that phase one rollout kind of video like I don't know if they want that so everything I don't know if she was going to want that before the mercher but that's what we don't make stuff with something nothing's in ink and that's what I love about
Starting point is 00:30:36 this new phase is like we don't know what the fuck's going on that's true like what a great moment of like and unplug it and plug it back in. Excited for some creativity though, you know? I don't know what he would want to do next, but I know that that Paramount likely wants. They just, they just announced Transformers and Stephen Spielberg's been attached to all the Transformers movies that I know of, at least most of them. He's always like an executive producer.
Starting point is 00:31:00 Yeah, but they made an announcement like, Spielberg is back on Transformers. And I was like, I think that's just a creative way to say he never left. But like, how much was Spielberg, spillberging when he was on transforming? I think they just want to have big announcements. So I imagine that would also fall into D.C. They're going to want some, like... True. What do you guys think he's cooking?
Starting point is 00:31:19 I think something weird, but could still be big. I just don't think it's like a traditional third film in the Super Trilogy, personally. Fair enough. Then before we talk about Matt Reeves, Jackie, are you there? Does Jackie know Matt Reeves? Jackie is best friends of Matt Reeves. I saw Jackie and Aaron just watched Rocky. Bring in character witness, Jackie.
Starting point is 00:31:39 Rocky is the movie that got me into working out when I was in seventh grade. And like, that's when I tried doing one hand pushups like two weeks ago. I get out to do that. But when I was in seventh grade, I've mastered that shit. In my 20s I could easy. Yeah. 38's different. I can't even do one now.
Starting point is 00:31:58 Even with your legs sprawled? I'm trying to do it without like, because in Rocky one when he does the, when he's doing the one hand of pushups, his legs are super sprawled. Yeah, that's the way to do it. You make your body an X. Is that the right form? Yeah, I always thought like the masters would be able to do it without. Oh, the masters. Are we masters?
Starting point is 00:32:15 We should start with the X. I would like to. I just figure, I figure if you're going to bench rest, just put two 90-pound plates for the first time. No, you start with the look at the wide. I guess it is my need.
Starting point is 00:32:27 I guess I need to go wider. Well, truth be told. I'm acting like, oh, that's where I fucked up. But I think even if I went super wide, I probably wouldn't be able to pull it off.
Starting point is 00:32:35 That's the form. I was like, what else would you do? I can do a lot of push. I was put a one arm. I'm missing. I'm probably a month out because I've been, I've been a glutton of late,
Starting point is 00:32:44 but I think I would, I'd probably be a month out from getting back to that. One arm push up. I would love to. We'll have one arm pushups at Christmas. All right. If you see Jackie or Aaron, ideally both,
Starting point is 00:32:56 hail them. Heil Hydra. No, you don't have to go get them. If you, if you see them. Just saying yes. Appreciate you, Ray.
Starting point is 00:33:04 I know you're trying to keep everyone happy. He's out here saying yes. He literally took off his head. Ray was like, all right, I'll leave the show. You guys produce it yourselves. Ray is the character who will never see. We have developed him so much. He is, yeah, he's the mysterious benefactor.
Starting point is 00:33:20 So Matt Reeves, yes. Is, once again, he had to put, they had to put the Batman on hold. Batman Part 2 on hold. Now, maybe the best place to get my news is not Twitter. Because, you know, Twitter is like, I find that I get the,
Starting point is 00:33:39 news fastest from Twitter. Sure. It's very, very reliable. Like everyone who follows discussing film and whatever. I just checked it's Twitter, right? That's the spot to go to get the right-of-way updates. And maybe that, and that's where sometimes what I feel like fandom is reacting like is coming from Twitter.
Starting point is 00:33:58 And then you go on other apps and you're like, oh, not every social media platform is this fucking insane. But I went to like, Instagram and stuff. I'm like, okay, there's a lot of this still carrying over because Batman too has been delayed quite a few times. And there was a moment in time where they were saying Matt Reeves has a personal thing that he has to be tending to when we never found out exactly what it was. But then we eventually got the script. I think there are about two-thirds done of the film, but there's another personal thing that now has occurred that has put this movie on pause.
Starting point is 00:34:32 and there was a I did a little video about it on socials of how like the lack of the empathy that occurred here because I want my Batman movie. Yeah. We watch, we watch these Batman movies and that's either number one or number two. It's one of those. It's one of those. So I'm so excited for this movie. I want it just as bad as everybody else. I've been bummed every time it's been delayed.
Starting point is 00:34:56 I've yelled. I've complained. But when it's something like clearly there's a terrible. thing that is going on. Yeah. We can hold off. Yeah. On this Batman, like, do you really want, like, a Bohemian Rhapsody situation where it's
Starting point is 00:35:11 half directed? Yeah, we don't want that. Like, we want, we would like Matt. And who knows, it might be so bad that Matt Reeves might not be able to come back. And we're forced into a bohemian rhapsody situation. But it doesn't sound like it to that degree, unless it's a true health concern that he personally has, at least what was told was this is a family thing. So it sounded like it was outside of him.
Starting point is 00:35:31 We don't know. We have no, I have no inside baseball on this information. I just found it very, very, very sad how it went down. I'm like, this is the opposite of what Batman stands for. Well, these are the people that think Batman stands for vengeance, even though they watched a whole movie about him not. Yeah. Like, these are, it is ironic that, you know, a story about a man not getting to spend time with his family is people demanding this man not deal with his family crisis. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:00 And go back to work. Like, that's gross. I feel like it's cool that there's, and you know, just to just to interrupt really fast before I forget this. And that's the only reason why I'm doing it out of insecurity is that there's a, there was a story. I remember I think it was during when James Come was filming the suicide squad way before he was in charge of D.C. And his dog died. And he needed some time because or he had to go see his. There was something about that where he had to, he wanted to go see his dog before he, the dog died.
Starting point is 00:36:26 Anyway, they paused filming in production so he could spend some time with his dog. or do something for the funeral of the dog. I forget exactly what it was, but they allowed him to have a personal time in spite of this massive production, and especially when DC was at a very strange time, and they let him have that. And if it's something similar like this,
Starting point is 00:36:47 I think it's really cool that James Gunn is obviously the main CEO of fucking DC. If he allows that when someone's going to that, I'm like, that's really cool personally. I don't care of how fuck that sounds. right like i think it's cool then rare that you get a leadership where they they allow that this doesn't mean nothing about the quality of dc here i'm giving an opinion about i'm just talking like it's a leader that's fucking cool that they allowed that to happen if that is the scenario uh two things on that um
Starting point is 00:37:16 i think that i mean i tweeted out uh what did i say i said um you know if if we forget about the human element of art society is lost like something to that effect i i was vague tweeting about this and it was so funny how people came back angrily. People assumed I was talking about other shit. Someone was like, are you talking about Eric Voss talking about AI during new rock stars? I was like, no, like all this stuff and people just painting whatever they want on that tweet. But I was talking about like we don't get art if we don't have a human element to it. Like this man's humanity. Like whatever he's going through as a man should be paramount to the situation.
Starting point is 00:37:53 And it's insane to me that people want their fucking content. People just want to consume. and they don't think about the human being. I mean, to keep in the Batman, man, I think about Heath Ledger still when people are like, the Joker killed him. How insulting that is to his family.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Like, that man had wrapped that. He was on to the next project. He had actually been diagnosed with a bunch of different forms of like, he had medical stuff that was compounding, and he had a doctor in, I believe it was England and another one in America,
Starting point is 00:38:21 maybe it was Australia. But like, he had two doctors that didn't communicate. And basically they gave him too much sleep medicine and he drowned in his own fluids because he had pneumonia. Like the guy died in his sleep because of a flu. And like people like,
Starting point is 00:38:32 the Joker killed him. Like the human element of these stories is why we watch them. The human element is why there is anything behind the Batman. Like you can, that's why AI will never fully take over because there's no humanity. There can't be. Without pain and suffering, there isn't a story to tell.
Starting point is 00:38:48 So it really freaks me out that we have something that like is this giant archetypal thing. And the reason this, the Batman is good is because of this man. Like we've seen what he's brought us. And instead of being like, oh, I hope he's okay. People are like, vengeance. And it's just gross because like without people, none of this works. And I personally love that the industry, like you were saying, you know, this is a millions of dollars stop.
Starting point is 00:39:15 Oh my God. Yeah, so much money. Because these are hundreds of crew people. This is without like this is productions and permits and all these things. You legally still have to keep them paid. Yeah. And what a beautiful thing that this job. unlike most fucking jobs.
Starting point is 00:39:30 Yeah. Like most jobs would not let you be a person. They want you to work until you're dead. And I think this is really why the arts are important, but these fuckers aren't going to see that. Yeah. Or maybe he just has a cold. Yeah. I mean, I've been here with a flu.
Starting point is 00:39:44 And someone. Greg let us pause for an hour today while I was trying to get in touch with my doctor. My doctor called out sick, which makes sense that when you're exposed to people would happen. But as someone that just turned 30 and I've never had that happened. So I was so aghast where I was like what do you mean? I'm the sick. How can they call us your job is to not be? Yeah, you by definite. I was like of course, but you're around all sick people it made sense, but I've never had it happen. But yeah, I'm getting over the flu and and it is I think a beautiful thing to be in a position where you have a job that you don't feel like you're like trapped like I remember being a kid and like you know you only get so many sick days you get held back and being like what if I die like of course I was a kid so I was being hyperboats. I was being hyperboats. I was being hyperbo. But like you shouldn't as an adult worry about your livelihood or your health. You should be able to be a functioning person and have a job.
Starting point is 00:40:33 Yeah. Yep. One million percent. So let's just wait, guys. Let's just wait. Be humans. Be fucking good people. Let's get it.
Starting point is 00:40:41 I wish him the best. I hope that in the end he's able to come back and finish this movie. I hope whatever it is is resolved okay and that he's like, oh, whatever it is, he's okay, mentally physically, whatever it is. I hope he's good. If there was a real concern, a myth. this because a part of the, you know, pushback is like, oh, he, he should just, they should just cancel this movie, whatever the fuck people say, is that, uh, he obviously, he wants to make a trilogy. He's been very clear about that. Mm-hmm. Due to the amount of delaying that occurred, that is the one part where I'm like, I don't know if they're really let him finish it.
Starting point is 00:41:15 Depending depending on, because of how much delays have happened and whatever the hell he's been going through. I don't know if you will Or if they want him to Or if they might like You know what? We need to get our DCU Batman out there now Because we can't just keep like waiting several years And we don't know You just don't know you know
Starting point is 00:41:35 So that's the one part Anyway You want to look at some green lantern Unused concept art Oh look at some green lantern Are they there? Do they leave? Why don't you hire Hydra than dude?
Starting point is 00:41:51 Oh yeah yeah Aaron didn't Just leave. He's been gone, right? Oh, yeah, yeah. Jackie leave? I saw Paige. Oh, yeah, they got to film Thor of the Dark World. Good luck.
Starting point is 00:42:03 Oh, they're behind. Okay, so what's this Green Lantern show? It was a show greenlit in 2021 or 2022. I ran into the dude that was going to play Guy Gardner at a party, and he was still Guy Gardner at that time because we talked about his bowl cut. I don't think they were going to do the bowl cut, but we talked, he was, he's like a, a very 50s Americana looking guy, and they were going to do like a different take on like more leaning into the gym teacher kind of bully green lantern.
Starting point is 00:42:29 And they were going to do from what I understood more of the CW tonality. Like it was going to be not that, but like in that direction. And it was going to be like lots of constructs and space opera shit, but very cop heavy. It was going to introduce a new green lantern. Beretta Lee or some shit. And yeah, it was going to be Guy Gardner. I think Kilawog was rumored. but it was um
Starting point is 00:42:54 didn't sound great to me because it sounded like what didn't go right with Green Lantern Ryan Reynolds plus a show budget which means things would look cheap but it sounded like they were really trying to like flex that budget and like make a lot of shiny green shit so let me see here
Starting point is 00:43:10 I wanted to what information what because I just find it really weird that this that this information got it was a full green light it was public 2021 2022 after the past But why these images suddenly came out. Okay, so would have taken place in two time periods.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Alan Scott in 1941 and Guy Gardner in 84. Oh, okay. So they would have had two time. Wow, fascinating. Those are two very different time periods. Yeah, I think that was the idea. Alan Taylor is the first, like, he was a canonically gay character, and they probably would have addressed that.
Starting point is 00:43:39 And then like the 80s bullying, Guy Gardner, all that stuff. I imagine. That might have been a factor. That's who I ran into that guy. Sinestra would have been in the series. Oh, he's in like American Horror Story and shit. He's a classically trained actor, actually. The Manhunters were planned to be the primary villains.
Starting point is 00:43:52 Mark Guggenheim in the writer's room. So can we go through these photos? What's that group photo? I mean, it's one thing to get these. I have no idea if this show would be good or not. I have no idea. I mean, it does look cool. Can you show me that group shot again?
Starting point is 00:44:10 That's a pretty cool shot. I just think money and I have not seen. I know people love the CW stuff and I like some of it. I'm more of a small-ville guy, but special effects do not endure a full season and stay good. Like trying to do a lantern. even Disney with this Forever Money So I'm like in really
Starting point is 00:44:27 Chop the Balls. Yeah, Forever Money doesn't go forever. Yeah. Because we've seen some like, I mean, look at fucking Miss Marvel. That special effects stuff's hurting. And that's very similar power set if you actually think about Miss Marvel. Definitely. I mean, this looks cool.
Starting point is 00:44:40 And I can, I feel like it's, I don't know why this just came out though. For like, because there's at least I'm discussing film. It's his first concept art from the cancel Green Lantern series. Like to put this out there after Lantern's airs. It's to have all the people that wanted the show.
Starting point is 00:44:53 to be dumb, shiny objects to have a shiny object option. I wonder who put it out. That's the part that's like really intriguing me. Because everyone's saying like, why isn't there more lanterns and my lanterns? And instead of writing, they want shiny. And so like I think this is. Oh, Mark Duggenheim who co-created Arrow.
Starting point is 00:45:09 This would have been very much like a CW by now. I mean, I like CW. Those CW shows more than you. I saw All-A Arrow. I've never heard through a full season. As a All-A Arrow. Yeah. My friend was on a season and I watched her stuff, but I couldn't get through the rest of the
Starting point is 00:45:23 the show. I wonder who put this out. I'm not, at least I'm not seeing it right now. It's just kind of crazy that they would drop this amidst the turmoil because that is, you know, with a thing that you know what? Fuck it. Let's just start. The images are cool. Or the other images. Let's just see them. I mean, a lot of people do that word like something comes out and they just post stuff in relation of their own work. I mean, Zach Snyder's been doing it for years. You start a whole social media. Like what is zero, zero? That was a very popular for that one purpose. He puts out certain quotes. And you know, he just, I'm just, I love Zach Snyder interviews.
Starting point is 00:45:56 I really enjoy Zach Snyder a lot. I even love listening to him. And I do want to see his photograph movie, actually, even despite what the feedback has been. But I, it's like, dude, you know what you're doing, man. Always riling everyone up. And after this merger, there was some other image you put out from Justice League and, like, have faith.
Starting point is 00:46:15 It was like one of the quotes. Oh, dude, you're doing it again. It just makes me laugh. Oh, boy. But, yeah. She was going to be the new lantern. Yeah, it says Hero 18 or something. something, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:25 Might have been cool. Yeah. Not have been cool. It's not Jessica Cruz. Maybe. It's not labeled. So I don't know. Well, let's, uh, can we, can we talk about the, um, this lanterns experience?
Starting point is 00:46:40 Please. Your lanterns experience. Yeah. Let's hear it, Greg. Okay. So let's go to, uh, can we go to my Twitter? That Twitter right there. Let's, uh, let's just go through some of the, I want to, my, the start off as did how,
Starting point is 00:46:52 Landerns do how Jordan dirty. Now, what I wanted to do here is show that this is not like, oh, you misunderstood what I said. It's just that there's a lot of fucking idiots out there. It's what sometimes I put something out there. Sometimes I say something. And then I get a lot of pushback. And I am able to go like, oh, I could have said this differently. I could have phrased this differently.
Starting point is 00:47:17 A lot of time that does happen. And I'm saying this with like no rising pulse right now at all. that there's just so many morons out there. I'm like, well, there's this, there's a side of fandom here. They're just too stupid. And they're, they're so stupid to the point. They'll never realize how stupid they are.
Starting point is 00:47:33 So, uh, let's just look at some of the comments that I want to play some of the, just so you just so everyone knows I'm like telling the truth here that it's like, because a lot of these are, uh, is it loading? Just click right there right where you're at right now. No, no, the word where the hand was. Yeah, there you go. Scroll down. No.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Um, okay. Hey, look, there's comments about you, Koi. Go to the quote tweets, actually. That would be the best one to go to. What I do? I was going to do to do this video. Yeah, well, you know, people automatically assume that my opinion right there. Like, your opinion is bought and paid forward access because you're a co-host here.
Starting point is 00:48:06 That's one of them. But mainly, a lot of these comments, if you go to the quote tweets, Ray, you got to learn how to navigate Twitter, Ray. You know what? I don't know how to do it on the computer. I will give you shit. Hey! Oh, so like, that's the first one. These industry actions shells are worthless.
Starting point is 00:48:22 they're taking one thing I said early on. Well, like, this is something I do say. Well, they didn't disrespect how because that's not what I. That's not what, no, sorry, let me phrase. I didn't say that. So one, I think that's always stupid. When they put in quotes on like, and I'm like, that's not what I said. That's not the quotation, you know.
Starting point is 00:48:38 And if you keep scrolling down a little bit, you'll see like a lot of this is mainly that, like, oh, they're, they're doing that for that's from red letter media of like. What's red letter media? Red letter media. They're a channel. They have a thing called. nerd crew it's hilarious but it's like just people who are they make fun of like the shills like you got to buy everything they have that quote don't ask question just consume products and get excited
Starting point is 00:48:59 for the next product and then you know are gonna are i don't like to say that word personally i know a lot of people in my a lot of people my life like to say it i that's one of the words that i don't like to use personality and um yeah so a lot of these are basically that okay of like shill you were paid by dc that's like the vibe of what everyone's saying that's anytime i pose man I understand. Right. And because a question is, did how, like, look at this bitch-ass clown, right? That's what they're saying.
Starting point is 00:49:27 They're trying to at people. They talk shit about me. They're literally blind or whatever, right? So can you go to, can you click on the video and go to the comments of the actual video? There's one, there's one part I want to find because someone was actually surprised me at how it went down. Keep going a little bit. Let me see if I, if I reckon it. Rugged actor.
Starting point is 00:49:48 Okay, rugged anchor right there. So click that thread. So I'm just going to read this thread to you. Rugged Anchor said, let me guess what he's going to say before watching the video. Lanterns is great. It's awesome. Let me tell you we need to season two, not because the HBO Matt gave it away, right? And then someone right away, Druig 22 said, you guessed it.
Starting point is 00:50:09 And the guy replied to that. So then I said to there, this thread is the literal definition of dumb asses. Clearly didn't listen to a thing I said in this video. None of what was assumed I said was said. Then to have dumb asses coming and say, yep, exactly, slow mentally challenged morons. And he said, I'll give you this one. And it was such a surprise to me that someone might actually go,
Starting point is 00:50:30 oh, you know what? I was wrong. So one of these people was really coming at me, realize they were wrong. So I want to play what I actually said. Jackie just went back before I said. Jackie, are you there? Jack, you come in here for a second.
Starting point is 00:50:39 You got you just watch Rocky? Yeah, I just watch Rocky. You just watch Rocky. Yeah, get again. I mean, no. Oh my God, it's right there. No. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:48 Yeah. Did you like Rocky? I haven't been in this room before. Is she in camera? Did you like Rocky? I really loved Rocky. I thought it was, it had a lot of very funny beats in the script. That was not the response.
Starting point is 00:51:05 I was expect. It was a surprisingly hilarious good time. What? Rocky did you watch? 1976. Weird, weird promo for this Rocky reaction. No, I cry. I cried.
Starting point is 00:51:18 I cried. I cried at the end. I didn't, no one's going to believe this. I didn't know that he lost at the end. I mean, a lot of people don't know that. Who haven't seen it,
Starting point is 00:51:25 you would assume he was because of that. He was 60 years old, so it's probably like cycled out or now. Yeah, I think so. Okay, cool. I'm in a cape. And it was not for the Rocky Reaction.
Starting point is 00:51:34 You're going to watch Thor the Dark World? That's why I'm in the Cape, yes. All right. Now, prepare yourself. It's the best Marvel movie of all time. So when we were answering the Rocky questions, I accidentally saw the first Thor question, which was,
Starting point is 00:51:47 this is. is regarded as the worst Marvel film. Lies. Oh, damn it's like Rocky. It's a laugh right. It's a laugh right. It's a laugh right. It was funny.
Starting point is 00:51:58 I don't know what to tell you. There's humor. There's humor in the script because it's grounded. It's an incredible story about humanity. And when it's very, very grounded and it's well-written characters, there's always going to be comedy because people are funny. Being a human being is funny.
Starting point is 00:52:15 God forbid. Good point. Well, Chris, Rocky. I hope you go enjoy Doors' body again. What are you guys talking about? We're talking about. We're talking about dumbasses on the internet right now. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:52:27 Yeah. I have a couple. Just go look at my comments on the videos. Oh, yeah, no, you're killing it, Jack. You're killing it. You're a superstar. Have fun watching Thor of the Dark World. After telling Jackie, she should never read the comments.
Starting point is 00:52:37 We're actually on the one person. I'm like, hey, don't do what we're doing. Yeah. Do as we say, not as we do. Nicely done. Red Robin Hood away. Don't trip anyone. Oh no, Mayday. Mayday. It's almost a dark world for her.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Head of phones, Koi. Make sure we can hear this. Now you've heard everything of what the reaction, of what the reactions are to this video. And I want you to like, this is the odd part that I'm going to tell you why I feel like it's so odd after listening to it. Okay. Careful. Careful. Hit play. It's two minutes of me talking. Prepare yourself. Can't hear it. Ray. You fucked up badly, boy. I can hear it. Okay. That's all in that. The lanterns. You're fucked up, right? I know you're good, bro.
Starting point is 00:53:22 One, two, three, Hippelin. The lanterns truly disrespect Hal Jordan. After that finale, it obviously keeps seeing that argument everywhere. I personally really like The Lantern show. Kyle Chandler is great as Hal Jordan, and this is absolutely a better live action Hal than that 2011 Green Lancer movie. James Gunn has even defended the show by pointing out that Hal is a major character. He gets more live action screen time here than he's basically ever had.
Starting point is 00:53:43 The people making the show clearly love him. My thing isn't that we didn't get enough Hal Jordan. It's that the second major live action interpretation of Hal Jordan starts at the end of his story. We got one major live action, Hal, before this. The 2011 movie was such a disaster that we waited like 15 years for somebody to take another real swing at him. Naturally, fans thought, okay, this time we're finally going to see why Hal Jordan is one of DC's greatest heroes. How with the Corps, the Guardians, his years as an intergalactic cop. Hector Hammond, who does kind of show up in this show, but apparently has zero history with Hal.
Starting point is 00:54:18 and especially Sinestro stuff. Senestro, while he's in it, he isn't just some like Green Lantern villain you can hand over to John Stewart and say, same thing. So much of what makes Sinestro fascinating comes from his history with Hal, and lanterns didn't erase that history. It just turned it into backstory.
Starting point is 00:54:34 We're showing up after a lot of Hal Jordan's biggest adventures already happened. This barely feels like we get to watch Green Lanterns be Green Lanterns. Their signature power is creating basically anything they can imagine through these rings. and actual construct use is wildly scarce throughout the show. I'm not saying I need a fucking giant green fist every 30 seconds,
Starting point is 00:54:55 but imagine doing an entire Spider-Man season where Spider-Man barely climbs walls or Thwips Webs. Even if the drama is great, eventually, you're going to go, kind of want to see Spider-Man do some Spider-Man. If somebody knows nothing about Hal Jordan continuity and simply went, man, I want a more Green Lantern in my Green Lancer show, I just feel like that's completely fair. Before this becomes Hal versus John,
Starting point is 00:55:14 this is absolutely not that. Aaron Pierre is fantastic in this. John Stewart deserves a spotlight. My problem isn't that John gets to become Green Lantern. It's that apparently the price of getting John's story was skipping most of howls. Maybe they make a great prequel someday, knowing somebody's fate doesn't automatically ruin a story. It's frustrating because Kyle Chandler is so great that it makes a part of my brain go, you finally gave me a Hal Jordan and I actually want to keep watching. And his first story is also his last.
Starting point is 00:55:45 Over two minutes of me criticizing And acknowledgeing like all the things. Because I thought about it after. I was like, you, you idiots. If there was a part at all that there's like divides, right? There's a side of the, if you want to be binary about criticism on the internet, which I really hate. I hate how there's no one that's what we talk about all the time.
Starting point is 00:56:12 I hate the binary side of the internet. You know, because like I really like the show, but I have my criticisms about the show. And that's more criticism. And I'm like, for the record. I've heard the criticism. And we watched the lantern show because we already just got screeners. So we watched it before all these opinions came out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:29 From like, you know, like the, the, I'm not, I'm not in, I'm actually not insulting neurotic directly. I'm actually talking about like, not the whole audience of like that side of like critical drinker or neurotic, whatever that group is categorized as. Um, not even talking about the whole audience. There's a lot of people in that audience. So I would say, I'm not saying most. I won't even say that.
Starting point is 00:56:48 I'm just saying there's a lot of people. who show up in shit like this, who, where I'm like, wait a minute, wait, like I didn't think about I saw all this.
Starting point is 00:56:57 I'm like, if you actually watch this or listen to it, I'm actually saying a lot of the things that you guys actually say. Like, this is me kind of like, if there's a part that I agree with you on,
Starting point is 00:57:11 or I'm actually saying, I can understand why you would feel this way, and I'm going into detail about why you would feel this, way really trying to explain like I totally get it and here's why I'm not gonna repeat everything I said in this video and then they just come in being like what a shell freaking idiot done the dies pain I'm like most of this video is me fucking agreeing with you actually I think the bro like what a bunch of dumb asses they're so stupid because like
Starting point is 00:57:41 the thing they would highlight is like when I would say clearly he loved they clearly they love Hal Jordan that's the one part where I could have added where the one part I would give, that they're obviously isolating that. It's the one part where I would probably have expanded a sentence on to just be a little clear of like the version they wrote,
Starting point is 00:57:59 they clearly love writing him. Like, How's the most talked about part of the show? Do I need to explain this? People who don't even like the show, a lot of people are like, How's great though. I love Howl. There's a reason why people are upset
Starting point is 00:58:10 about missing Howe, because Howl is great. Whether you feel like fucking, oh man, they, they shit the bed and they disrespected Hal Jordan. Everyone's like, Kyle Chandler's great in the show because I'm saying that they loved writing whatever this version was. That's what I was getting at here. But then I also go on to really explain how they don't do Hal Jordan the way how I feel like they could have done Hal Jordan.
Starting point is 00:58:34 And I'm like, wait a minute. Now that I'm thinking about what I said, it's literally like actually echoing. These are thoughts that I shared throughout our reviews. So this was the thoughts that I had before all you guys started actually finally watching the show. Also, I did, and I'm Mr. paid for show. Yes, exactly. I said the same.
Starting point is 00:58:50 You did, yeah, we had our reviews, we were saying the shit, but I mean, but the world. And all I did was isolate what I said in those reviews and make one video about it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:59 And it's, it's just so fascinating how fucking dumb these people are. Like, but you idiots, I'm actually saying what you're saying and explaining why I get, why you're feeling it. And that wasn't my intention
Starting point is 00:59:12 was to validate the morons. Yeah. It wasn't my attention just to validate people who want to hate this show. It wasn't that. I was just trying to say, like, I get it. Like, I actually have some criticisms, and here's what I want to share, and I feel kind of bummed that we missed out on some of this. I also said, like, I've said it several times. Like, I feel like this show doesn't make
Starting point is 00:59:28 being a Green Lancer look appealing at all. And that's one of the things that I have a gripe with while liking the show. But you have to see mainly, mainly people being like, if I were to use R, like, I personally might, you can say whatever you want, insult me out of why I don't like to use the R word. And the reason why I don't like to use is because my wife, when I've met her, at the time, my queen, she worked with autistic children. And then there was a lot of things. Obviously, that word was for a long time used as a slur. So I have just a really strong feeling about not wanting to use that word. But I know I have people in my life who use it for purposes that are not about going against people like autism or something like that. But that's why I don't use
Starting point is 01:00:06 it. But if I were to use the word in the way you guys used the word, you guys have never looked more like that than now because holy shit this this is mainly me pointing out criticisms I have and why so you're so fucking stupid you're dumbasses they're dumb they're fucking stupid dude
Starting point is 01:00:27 like it's logically stupid I experience what you're experiencing right now anytime I post to the scale of like I think I've had you know that thing when you are driving beside someone and you look over at because of how they've been driving and no matter what, you're like, yeah, that's what I thought they'd look like.
Starting point is 01:00:46 Like when someone cuts you off and it doesn't matter. Like you didn't actually picture anything. It could be an old lady. It could be like an old guy. It could be a teenager. But as soon as you drive by, you're like, exactly. Like you validate whatever their dumbness was. That's any profile picture for me now.
Starting point is 01:01:00 Yeah. I think everyone has unilaterally just like if they're not a bot, I'm embarrassed. If they're an adult, I'm embarrassed. If they're a kid, I'm like, well, at least you're dumb because you're young and you're getting there. But like the internet is there. I don't look at Rotten Tomatoes a public score anymore because these are the people that vote. Yeah. Like, I don't, I, I, people are always saying that the, the, the public square is the more important
Starting point is 01:01:23 thing to look at when it comes to opinion. But the average person shouldn't be allowed to leave the house. Mm-hmm. Much less have an internet connection. It does expose to stupidity, man. And the volume, how do you survive? How do you survive? How do you survive?
Starting point is 01:01:37 The average person reads at a sixth grade level. The average human being. And, and what's crazy is. we are, the millennials are the last generation that didn't have AI and didn't have like the access to Google at all time. Like we had to learn shit. So we're like we that was the peak of intelligence. People are getting dumber. Yeah. So this is the best it's ever going to be again, Greg. Yeah. Enjoy 2026 because it's going to get worse. It's going to get worse. And so like it is, it is going to go worse. The best course of action is to make as much money as you can now and just build it up. Because there'll be a day where this will be an unnavigable space. And I'm not talking about just Twitter. It already is. Yeah. I'm talking. I'm talking. talking about the internet.
Starting point is 01:02:13 It's all sinking. So like, fuck them. Fuck them. So I, you know, when I started here in this channel,
Starting point is 01:02:21 I was like, I don't know about ads. I don't know about this coming. I just want to make funny. I'm going to fuck off. That's it. I'm done. I'm just talking and leaving.
Starting point is 01:02:28 That is. I mean, how? That was the approach 40. The ship sinking, Greg. I'm listening to the music and Titanic.
Starting point is 01:02:35 Everyone's fucked. Most of them are a word you don't enjoy hearing, so I won't say. But I feel it in my heart. Like, Because you're right. Like on Instagram and TikTok, there's the same video went out.
Starting point is 01:02:46 This one. It was a lot more reasonable in the response. They're like, oh, nuanced take. Those are new platforms. And I appreciate like, oh, you guys. But it's like, I expected this from Twitter. Yeah. Because this is where those dumbasses go.
Starting point is 01:02:57 You know? It's a happy two-dimensional place. And like, I'll acknowledge that, you know, I said that thing about this side of the internet with like the audiences from like the crowds of neurotic and critical drinkers and that group and geeks and gamers that side where there's portion. and sections of that audience that I think are complete morons. And I know people would,
Starting point is 01:03:17 I know that side of the internet would say the same thing about like us, unlike our audience. It'd be like, there are sides of the internet that you just blindly love everything and blindly love this. I know that insult also exists
Starting point is 01:03:26 in the opposite form. That's my feeling on this. And I feel like my feeling is objectively correct. I don't feel like it is subjective when I'm like, I fucking laid it out, dude, made a fucking blueprint
Starting point is 01:03:38 rope a fucking yellow brick road to the opinion that I'm giving. I post mute now. As soon as that is up, I hit that three dots and I hit mute and then I just don't. It means I like miss some work stuff and I miss like, but like I don't, I don't miss the feeling of doubting whether or not I'd say someone's life they were drowning. Because I, knowing this many people are dumb, I think about it sometimes. I'm like, would I let someone die because they're probably an idiot? Maybe.
Starting point is 01:04:03 Yeah. Like I don't want to have no faith in mankind. So I think it's better to like mute. But social media is fueled by engagement, which is tricky. It's tough because I put out, can you go to my actual page? They're right there on the right. You can see the Greg Alba. See my name?
Starting point is 01:04:20 Click it. As I said, I love how this video has, because there were people who there were people, this is true. There are, and it's not just that. I love how this video is turning people who don't like Hal Choyce is going exactly. So some people thinking like, I'm, I'm not part of this crowd now. And then there's other people who are like going, you chill. Of course you loved it.
Starting point is 01:04:38 And so I was just saying like, I love it. but I like to show a lot, but there's issues I have with it. And I forgot how I wanted to go to this. There's something there. Oh, yeah. So people started replying to this quote tweet, the quote that I put out on this one of like, oh, I, I've turned into like, there you go. Here you go, crying again, like a little girl after being putting your place for being
Starting point is 01:04:59 purposely deceptive. You're literally the exactest of Tyrone Bagnas and Chris. I'm like, what? No, no, it's the complete opposite. Now I'm part of that camp. Like, because even people, here's the thing, there are people here like, okay, this person goes, Virginia's finest, shut the fuck up, clown, Marvel, Shillah hates on DCU, any chance you get because the only thing that will get you views embarrassing.
Starting point is 01:05:23 So whatever, I'm not even going to talk about my reply that I said to them. What I want to point out is that there are people who were fans of real rejects. And then once you start saying a criticism, they're like, what happened to you guys? you're so negative and hate everything and you guys got the worst takes all the time like you're fucking stupid too I hate to break it to you because that's not what I fucking said
Starting point is 01:05:46 that's not what I said or did in the video people have been reaching out to me on my posts about my Spider-Man two thoughts on this show yeah I saw those copies I don't even touch the Rejects messages anymore but like people like reaching out to me on other platforms to complain about me not liking
Starting point is 01:06:02 an actor is like it's I what a what an interesting use of free will in free time. Like I wish I had the free time. Yeah. Like what a gift you must have. I just want to live. Like you have enough time to like cross platform harass someone because I don't like your
Starting point is 01:06:17 little takes. Like so I mean these people have these people have spent. And really quick, sorry to clarify. Please. Because I know there's morons who will go, wow, he's insulting his own audience. I am. I'm saying there's people within, there's individuals. There's little collective people who want, who want the people they follow to
Starting point is 01:06:36 be exactly the way they want them to be. Yeah, those are the people. And then you have like a tiny percentage of a different of opinion. Like, oh, I like 90%, but here's a 10% I feel strongly. I don't like, suddenly you're fucking Tyro Magnus. And you're like, what the fuck? It's insane. If you're, if you're part of that crowd, if you think that way and you're here, you're dumb.
Starting point is 01:06:57 Like, you shouldn't think that way. I don't mind you leaving. I like, I don't mind. No problem with like a slower social media growth if I'm not like worried about people's well-being. Because not everyone, clearly not everyone here, not even on the neurotic and critical drinker side, not even everyone here thinks that way. That's the, that's the point I'm trying to make.
Starting point is 01:07:15 But if you do think that way, yeah, go fuck yourself. Yeah. Now Greg gets it. I agree. Because not every response is black and white. There are some nuanced responses, but yeah, I don't know. Also, I love that. I just for me, for my own experience, I love that your last tweet before this one was
Starting point is 01:07:31 September 29th. So you go on like once a week and every time it's like, what have I done? Yeah. It's not a good place. But that's the internet. And it's only going to get worse because we have no sort of, there's no incentive for it to get better. And there's no incentive for people to get better.
Starting point is 01:07:46 And we have now decided on a government that encourages stupidity. And we've elected people that encourage. Because like what's easier to control a dumb person or a smart person? So it's only going to get dumber. And what's easier to make someone happy by challenging them or giving them the shining object to scroll on in their phone? Like social media is going to get bigger. The opiate of the masses is going to get stronger. People are going to get dumber and like it is this is the smartest people as a as a species are ever going to be yeah
Starting point is 01:08:12 It's all fucking over They keep exposing themselves man I just they're not I mean they can choke on their own tongues dude. They're not worth living And we're overpopulated yeah So I don't know if these people are cannon fodder and that's they want to be Yeah, I like people I don't mind disagreements I've talked about it many times I just shouted out red litter media and they use red litter media and I'm like I'm a huge fan of red littered media and i imagine rather than media would hate this channel i imagine they would but i'm such a
Starting point is 01:08:41 huge fan of them that i don't even give a shit like that like that's i i watch them like kind of religiously you know so yeah see the tag man i don't even see it because i don't know there's some tags i'm like i don't know what you want for me no i don't know but yeah yeah you feel better i mean you get you get the vent yeah the polished guy makes a good point not now be truth from some of them wrote the comment out of ever seeing a single sentence yeah that polish guy but that that polish guy's making a great point because that's what a lot of people do do do they're making they're making an assumption and hate and then they're like oh gosh you guys you guys and then people will be like you should do your research like you should fucking do your research
Starting point is 01:09:21 you should listen to a two minute video before we're talking about it if that research is 140 seconds perhaps that's the journey uh jova saying wow lots of miserable people to comments i appreciate your thoughts on the season yeah it's uh I don't get it, man. Yeah. Oh, I guess some nuance actually started coming in later on. There it is. But by then you're exhausted.
Starting point is 01:09:43 Yeah, that's true. That's true. Oh, that's so fun. There's the good stuff. Oh, because I're replying to my quote tweet. Yeah. That's where you find the good ones. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:54 Well, this has been my last live stream for two weeks. It ended with Greg Beancoi. It ended with Greg Beancoi. And I got to just watch what it's like to have the internet drive you to madness. I'm finally taking my honeymoon and I very much intend on not touching the internet as much as possible. I've let it ruin enough of my year.
Starting point is 01:10:14 I'm not going to let it ruin my honeymoon. But for those of you that have two brain cells to rub together, I appreciate you guys very much for everyone that has commented and engaged with our stuff in good faith and wants to have either positive or negative discourse but in a discourse that is actually founded on logic, reason,
Starting point is 01:10:29 intelligence, and polysyllabic language. Thank you. And yeah, I'll be back in a couple weeks and the world will be different by them because two weeks of no internet like two weeks on the internet is a fucking lifetime. So by then there'll be so much news
Starting point is 01:10:41 and we'll have like a mega live stream catch up. There's going to be bottles here of my urine. Yeah. And I'm going to have a giant beard and long hair. Yeah. It's going to be crazy. He's going to be Wilson.
