More on them in just a bit.
Guys, I'm so excited to do today's video because I'm joined today with Jackie.
Oh, crap.
Bon seigneurre.
Bon seigneuré.
Yeah, that was good.
Yeah, that was like five times.
Trying to tell it. I'm going to nail it. I'm a nail it. I'm a nail it. We met through a mutual friend, Michael Tesler, who you guys might have seen on the channel before. But apparently she's never seen men in black. Never in my life.
So much so that I was like, yeah, you're like Bull Smith? And she's like, he's in this?
I was like, wow, she really doesn't know men in black. I know nothing about it.
No, she knows nothing. She knows nothing. I know that for Halloween, my two friends dressed in black suits and had a little balloon of an alien. And that's my extent of knowledge.
Balloon of an alien.
Like a green guy.
Oh, like, a generic alien.
Yeah, generic.
Generic alien.
So that's what I expect them to look like.
You thought it was a drama?
No, I thought it was an action move.
Okay.
Yeah, kind of.
Well, I saw it as a kid many times in the 90s, you know, right around the time you were born.
I've been wanting to revisit this.
So I got excited at the opportunity that you have never seen it.
So my job today is to make sure I don't guess anything.
And like, I remember a good amount of it.
It's the sequels I don't really remember.
What are you looking forward to?
Well, wait.
What year did it come out?
97.
I avoided any research I was trying to be true to the reject way.
So kind.
You're so kind.
Anyway, guys, follow her on social media.
She does a lot of music.
She's a really cool person.
Are you excited?
Jackie, let's do it.
I am excited.
Let's go.
All right, guys.
This is the part we review something.
Yes.
Are you excited to review something?
So excited.
What I have to say is so important.
I imagine.
Everyone sit down.
I'll help you.
else. I'll set you up a little bit.
I'll ask you questions. Give you some talking points here.
Don't you worry.
Guys, we want the full reaction watching along where you sync up with your own copy.
Asville for our Royal Rejects. Those are our patrons.
Thank you so much for supporting us. Additionally, if you want to get some RR apparel,
you can do that too. It should be a barcode here on screen, most likely.
If not, you're going to link in the description box or pin comment.
I forgot to check because usually patrons are allowed to be part of our reviews because,
oh, wow. I wonder if people are like, who the hell is Jackie?
I guess no one or read Jack.
I'm excited to see.
We got some questions.
Oh, wow.
I'm getting a real great behind the scenes look right now.
Yeah, no.
And I'm not sharing it with anyone.
We put out there men in black, Jackie and Greg, and no one was like, not one person went, who's Jackie?
No, they're accepting me with open arms.
I'll just say, yeah, I'm good.
I'm good with her.
Well, yeah, I haven't seen this movie in like decades at this point.
And this was your first time.
So what is your first impression of this?
I liked it a lot more than I thought I would.
What was your initial expectation?
I don't love aliens.
I avoid alien movies.
I feel like at all cost.
I was scared to see the new Ryan Gosling movie because I was...
Oh, really?
Because I sat down.
I had no idea what it was going to be like, and I don't like aliens, but that was great.
And yeah, and I also am not a huge fan of action typically.
So I, but I really liked it.
It was a beautiful blend of, you know, comedy and the action was really exciting.
And just like a little sprinkles of heart.
I really like that he got to go back with his wife.
I was literally thinking the one of heart right before you actually said that.
I like that he, I like the idea that when they retire, they get reunited.
What I do wish is, I want to know what happened to the original guy that retired from the first scene of the movie.
Wow.
Where did he end up? I'd like to know. I want to book out. Yeah. I mean, it is a bookend.
He's the key character art. He changed. He was the one who changed in and became the guy at the beginning of it.
It's passed now. The legacy of men in black continues to persist. But Will Smith, you seem like you were really into his performance. I really, really admire his performance. I mean, it was fantastic. How old we think he's in his 20s in this? And it was. How old was Will Smith in men and men.
black.
28 years old.
Yeah.
Okay, great.
He had fresh prints.
I think he had Independence Day and Men in Black, or it was Men in Black than Independence Day,
one of the two.
No, I think he really does, I think a different actor in that specific role may have
ruined the movie for me.
I think it's his charisma, his comedy, and he just feels so real.
I don't know, he's just so fun to watch.
He's great.
He's the definition of like natural.
Yeah, exactly.
Combined with Star,
Because I think the audience really does kind of, especially me going into it totally blind,
I really did identify with him as a character.
And I'm figuring everything out at the same time he is, which is really great.
Yeah, that's very true.
That's a good point.
So overall, it sounds like you actually enjoyed the movie.
I really did like it.
That's cool.
I'm very upset to hear that the gorgeous, gorgeous girl is not in the sequel, apparently.
Yeah, they do that with sequels and movies sometimes, especially with the women.
But Will Smith is in it.
Will Smith.
Yes, clearly.
Carrying it on his back.
It becomes like...
Star vehicle.
He is the...
At the beginning, it said Tommy Lee Jones
at the top first build.
Yeah.
He was a more popular actor then
as like a leading man.
But I think as we go forward,
I imagine Will Smith will be the top.
Yeah.
Because it's just fucking Will Smith.
What did you think about
the Edgar performance?
It was a great performance.
It was just so yucky.
It was a yucky.
It was so...
But it was fantastic. It was really, I mean, amazing physical acting to watch him kind of. I mean,
I made a joke while we were watching it. Like, wouldn't he have learned how to better operate the physical,
you know, vessel, I guess that he's using? But no, because the body is literally deteriorating.
Yeah. So it makes sense that it actually gets worse and worse and worse. And it's really fascinating to just be
clocking that as I watch. Well, I love that the movie has attention to detail like that. I think the thing that this movie
thrives on is attention to detail.
They pay attention to like when the traffic would be at this certain time of day.
They pay attention to like this character wouldn't run at this moment like Will Smith would
run but Tommy Lee Jones would not run at this point.
They really under they paid attention to like every little thing.
And I feel like there's such a good like whimsy and wonder why this movie has stood the test
of time because it is just like it's like a good fibbing movie.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
It's just like a good feeling kind of.
It's just fun.
It's just fun to watch.
Are you that familiar?
I can't imagine that familiar with Tommy Lee Jones, are you?
I don't think so, no.
Did you like him in this?
I did like him.
Yeah, their chemistry was...
He really grew...
Because I didn't love him, I think, in the first scene.
I didn't immediately, like...
You weren't like he's...
Yeah, he's it.
But I really did grow to like him more over time,
and especially just their chemistry together, I think.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, we got some fun questions here.
I love this movie.
This movie still holds up to me very, very well.
So we're going to ask some questions.
What we do is we clap.
that way the editors know
because we don't have a click thing
so we just clap old school
do two claps
and then I want you to read the first one
all right
I just read it shut their name
out
all right
Janice B asks
all these years later
the scene where the galaxy
is contained in the necklace
then used as a marble
at the end of the movie
really puts into perspective
just how tiny we are
in a vast universe
if you could get your hands
on a neuralizer
would you use it on yourself
or someone else
If at all.
I love this question.
It was like, oh, are we going to go through like a philosophical question about being so small in this universe?
What would you do in the neuralizer?
Makes you think.
Would you go blink, blink, bye-bye?
Thank you, Janice, for this amazing question.
That is a good question.
Would you use it on yourself or someone else?
That is like the ultimate question this movie poses, right?
I want to see some like Gen Z person do a video about why the neuralizer is so mean and harmful in society.
I think we touched on that.
There's no consent given to neuralizing in this world.
Would you use it on yourself or someone else?
Ooh, what would I want to?
Well, I think my immediate impulse when I read the question was, oh, if I do something super embarrassing, I could just like forget the last 30 seconds.
Like if I fall or something.
But then actually, I don't know, because I think all that builds character.
So I wouldn't want to use it.
Maybe if there was like some,
like instead of doing EMDR,
I could just like do the truck.
But I don't think it works like that.
It's not selective.
Yeah, that's true.
You know?
I imagine if I gave like a bad karaoke performance.
I would want to do the whole bar.
Yeah.
A whole bar.
The whole bar.
How would you get their attention?
I would do another performance.
You'd do another performance.
Yeah.
But I feel like at that point would everyone even be looking
or would they be like,
oh, this guy.
which is most of my karaoke performances.
I don't know.
You actually make a really good point, though.
I wouldn't.
I think there was a time in my life where I,
I've had more fantasies about what if I could do that thing?
Like, I get trans, unlike me, 35-year-old Greg,
and then I get transported back to like 17-year-old Greg.
But I still have, like, all the memory.
Like, I get a do-over.
I want, actually, I also want that.
Yeah, that's more appealing to me than, like,
this is less appealing.
Yeah, I don't know if I would actually use it on anyone.
Well, you could...
I don't even really want to do over.
Well, this is bad, but you could steal.
Stealing's bad, though.
Oh, yeah, you could steal.
Stealing's bad, but you could steal so well.
Or like, oh, wait, if you get, oh my God, if you get pulled over.
Yes, you could be a criminal.
I did not think about it in that context.
Yes, you could do some horrible.
things. Oh yeah. I mean, if you kill
someone, they don't have a memory of those scenes. Whoa, we're
going to killing someone. Oh, yeah. Why not?
I mean, if there's like someone you really don't like. Maybe like, and then a witness.
Oh, or like you're at the, you, oh, okay. Okay. You're at a restaurant or a bar.
You get your drink and like you just drink it really fast or you eat your lobster
really fast and then you go like, I didn't get my food yet. You want to do like little things.
Yes. I do. I'm thinking big picture here. No, I'm thinking retirement. I'm thinking every. I'm
Thinking everyday conveniences.
That saves money over time.
Talk about retirement fund.
Okay, that is true.
Saving money over time.
Well played, Jackie.
The check comes.
The check comes.
You go, you just comp this meal.
What do you mean?
Yeah, you just screw over the waiter.
That's true.
No, I would get the manager.
I don't want to hurt the little guy.
You know.
How deep of the layers does the neuralizing go?
Yeah.
Like, if you like, neuralize the waiter.
But then the manager's like, what happened to those people?
Then it creates a whole effect where the person
Like I forgot all about these people.
So you have to like keep neuro.
They don't really explain that in the movie.
Kind of have to do the chain of.
There's a chain of people who will ask questions.
Yeah.
I would, I would, if I did a men and black movie,
I would make it all about the constant stress of having to neuralize.
Everyone all the time.
Well, like, what if you should get the wrong setting.
Yeah.
So you got like to do the dial.
I'm already getting anxiety.
That's a lot.
That's a lot.
I would fuck up.
I would like, I accidentally look at it.
I did once pepper spray myself in the face.
So I feel like.
that's adorable is it yeah
what we're using never spray for
is it well i used to live in new york i used to live in new york i had just gotten it i was
testing it out forgot about wind
and that was on me that was maybe on me i understand i think i've done that with something
that's fair all right yeah few more okay rc flores with which alien in the movie do you
identify most personally i'm frank i'm old and
grumpy but also like to gossip.
Of course.
Which one was Frank?
I don't know.
I was hoping that you knew.
Frank.
Frank.
Oh, Frank is the dog.
Frank the pug, yes.
Frank.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Well, he's fantastic.
Yeah, yeah.
Which alien do I identify the most?
Ooh, I identify the most with the one that sadly passed, the owner of the cat, because he
was just really excited to meet up with his friend, introduce the cat to his friend, have some parogies,
and then things took a tragic turn.
Yeah.
Just minding my business and then things go wrong.
I really understand.
That is a fair point.
I feel like you and the rejects are the aliens in the coffee.
Yes, in the coffee room.
Or the Mexican.
You're like, I just assume they're Mexican.
Whoa.
Cut that out.
No.
Keep it in and loop it.
What are they?
are the bug coffee people
creatures aliens
I don't think they had a
had a race maybe I think they were just alien
they were doing Latino voice
Nope they're not they're not Latino
well okay AI okay Google AI how do you know
Interesting to assume
I thought it was
Okay so on Reddit though
Their accents sound Mexican or at least Latino
I'm not alone I'm not alone in thinking it
They are seen drinking coffee.
So true.
Yeah.
Latinos love coffee.
Only race that does.
No one else.
Nobody else.
Only Latino.
Men and black worm guys not related to Jabba the Hut.
No, that's fantastic.
While they may not be related, the worms are just as eating.
Okay.
There's a lot of good thought.
I think people out there.
Do the next one for us.
All right.
Do you got to clap?
You got to clap.
Friends, what is your relationship with eating healthy right now?
As many of you know, last year for me, it was all about us
Stratics.
Dropped a bunch of weight, got really disciplined, took some photos.
But this year, it became about maintenance.
Now, it's about performance.
I've been running a lot more.
I'm training for a Spartan race right now.
That's right.
Trying to be a man.
But incorporating all this with a busy life, it can be a challenge because, you know,
life doesn't slow down.
Like many of you, constantly on the go, always feel like I'm rushing against time.
And that's where these naturally placed bottles have really come in handy for me.
No, seriously, Huell, thank you.

supporting our lovely little show. Thomas Dorty asks, men in black, how do the visuals
hold up for you with the film being almost 30 years later? Personally, I think it still works for
the most part and love it when they go practical. Take it away. I agree with you, Thomas. I
I wasn't taken out of it at all.
You know, I thought the effects were amazing and disturbing, many of them.
And I really like knowing that they used a lot of puppetry and a lot of practical effects.
I feel like I want to go home and now go on a deep dive of BTS footage, hopefully, which exists on the internet.
Yeah, it's a good K-pop band.
Mm-hmm.
What do you think?
I think that it looked striking today.
and when it was
I kept pointing it out
and when it was CGI
the actors were so like okay
so take the big alien
bug creature at the end
Yeah it was like a big villain
but alien cockroach
And it was the part
when Tommy Lee Jones is like
insulting me and he's like so committed
It's selling it so much
He's probably just talking about some tennis ball
And back then it was probably even weirder
To like do that shit
Because it wasn't like as normal as it is now
It was common
and that's what sold it.
So even like when Will Smith is like hanging on to his tail
and me and like jerked around like sure,
those digital effects like age?
Yeah.
But the moment still sells me.
Everything around it is real.
And I think it's just a testament to both of their acting.
Exactly.
In this film.
I mean,
talk about commitment.
Yeah.
I thought,
I think it looks great.
The set designs are cool.
I love like the corporate look of men and black.
Yeah.
Everything is just black and white or silver for all their items.
You know,
it was like simple, solid colors and it felt very retro.
Yeah.
I love the vibe.
I think it's part of the look of it is a character of the film.
Also, just the other spaces and how contrasted, like the farm and the Aliens antique store that he owned, everything was so specific and felt so lived in.
Yeah.
I really loved it.
Good points.
Good points all around, Jackie.
You're doing all right.
Hang in there.
Not fired yet.
Hang in there.
Nikki Sunn Lisa.
No, wait.
Was that me?
Yeah.
Let's go.
One of my favorite Will Smith movies.
I love the story.
the soundtrack is a great question what's your favorite song made for a movie the song men in black
became such a 90s cultural phenomenon and still on a regular rotation on my playlist i do love this
song this answer is very very easy for me really like in terms of like a song that was like specifically
like oh they say the word men in black in the title where it's all about the movie um it's actually
will smith one it's wild wow west just think about that on the car right over
I haven't.
I don't think I've heard of it.
The Wild Wild West song?
You haven't heard the Wild West song?
Maybe I have. I can't think of it right now.
You've been to karaoke.
I've been.
It's one of the people's, because you're a singer.
It's one of the people's go-to karaoke songs.
I hear all the time.
Yeah, because it's like a fun rap.
Okay, give me a sample.
West, Jim West, Desperato,
Rough Rider, no, you don't know, Nada.
And that's about what I remember.
I don't know what he says here.
I see her, none of this six gunning this brother running this.
That's what I hear.
Buffalo Soldier, look it's like I told you.
It's a very classic Will Smith song.
Amazing.
He does the, woo.
Woo.
Uh-huh.
Aha.
Yeah, it's an easy one for me.
You don't have one?
What's your favorite song in a movie that was probably for the movie?
Let's condense this down.
Well, my mind immediately went to, and I can't remember the name of the song.
What movie?
The movie.
Great film.
if only I could remember the title of it.
What happens in this movie?
Who's in this movie?
Lana Del Rey wrote a song for a film about a woman who's an amazing painter and her husband takes the paintings and sells them.
Oh, is that the one with Christoph Waltz?
Maybe.
Is that one with Amy Adams?
Probably.
I haven't seen this movie, but I think I know what you're talking about.
It's a good film.
It's a good week.
Yeah, can you?
Lana Del Rey.
Amy Adams movie.
Eyes song.
Big Eyes.
And it's called Big Eyes.
Yeah, yeah.
I haven't seen the...
Big Eyes.
Big Eyes is absolutely...
Yes, about Margaret Kean.
Yes.
Damn, what a pool.
It's a fantastic song, fantastic film.
I really, really enjoyed it.
All right.
And she wrote...
Sorry.
God, I'm a fake fan.
She wrote two songs for the film soundtrack.
Both of them, great.
Oh, man, you're good.
They're good.
No one ever once has brought up this movie ever in conversation.
I forgot it was.
directed by Tim Burton.
Yeah.
Makes sense?
We've seen Tim Burton.
Huge, huge Tim Burton.
Huge, Tim Burton fan.
Huge.
Huge.
Huge.
Huge.
Huge.
The music in this movie, too, amazing.
Danny Elfman, who does all Tim Burton's movies,
amazing music in this movie, too.
All right, we got one last one here.
Or like two?
Oh, my God, there's three.
No wait.
We don't have time to do all that.
Okay.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry, guys.
I know there's some.
This is yours.
Jennifer Dixon asks, what do you think?
What do you think of the chemistry between Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith?
It makes the movie.
I don't think you can do this movie without having these two specific actors.
I agree.
You need the perfect old, grumpy, white guy, and you need Will Smith.
And you need Will Smith.
You need these two, like, the way they look, even just like the looks they have.
When it's like, this is Agent Black and just like the little look that he gives him.
And they're not doing like a punch in for the comedy.
Yeah.
It's just kept him for the shot and you got to like catch that look.
Yeah, the way they riff with each other every part of it.
And like Tommy Lee Jones also has to be endeared to him.
Yeah, he does.
And he is.
So while he like gets like critical and and you know, he talks a little bit like sardonic,
he's a bit of a grumpy guy, they have these little moments where you can see
Tommy Lee Jones actually really likes him, you know?
And I feel like that's a hard nuance to find in dynamics.
I feel like they really get along.
Yeah.
now. What do you think? Well, something else that I feel like this question just made me think about
is that both Tommy Lee Jones's and Will Smith's characters are kind of both so self-assured.
And kind of such assholes. Like, they're so confident and cocky, but in such different ways.
And I think that they both maybe relate to the other one more than they realize at first, especially.
You make a really good point because Tommy Lee Jones gets that from experience. And Will Smith has that from just a
he knows more than he actually does.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's a really good point.
Good point.
Good point.
Yeah.
You did good today, Jackie.
They're not going to lock me back in the truck.
No, no, not today.
That's where Roxy is right now.
Okay.
We'll just do a...
Maybe you.
We'll do this super quick.
We're a little bit of a tight schedule right now.
Jay Rushden, what, like, celebrity is alien in disguise there?
He always writes these questions, interesting.
Also, I'm definitely one the worm guys.
personally there. What celebrity is an alien
in disguise? Okay. Okay. If I had to
choose a celebrity today, that
was an alien in disguise. J.D. Vance.
J.D. Vance? Ultimate
celebrity.
I couldn't see it.
Erica Kirk.
Getting political.
Who would I pick?
I would say Tom Cruise.
Oh, well, yeah.
I feel like Tom Cruise.
Yes, yes, yes.
He's constantly trying to figure out what a human being is.
You know?
He's got that like those eyes of him trying to assess humanity.
I have to agree.
He only understands it through movies.
I really have to agree with you there.
Or Timothy Shalmame.
I was just thinking Timothy Shalmay.
I'm not even kidding.
There's something about Timothy Shalmay.
It's something.
They could read that way.
I don't like.
Who else would you think?
Hmm.
That's not a politician.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
They're all aliens.
Who don't I like?
It obviously has to be someone I don't like
Because I don't like aliens
We know our politicians
Don't like aliens, that's for sure
You know what I'm saying
Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm
Suddenly I've forgotten every name of every person
That's fine
We're good, we're good
Can you read this this
Can you read these last two?
Yes
Den Rader Ryan asks
If you were an agent of the men in black
What famous movie Alien
Would you want to chase after the most?
Rocky
The alien?
You'd want to kill
Rocky. No, I want to chase after him and then retire together. Play tag. That's what it is.
Like a game of cats. Amaze, amaze, amaze. Yeah. Okay. I thought it was like hunt him down.
E.T. My wife hates E.T. Really? You've seen E.T. No, I haven't seen it. Oh, what?
No. Good to note. But yeah. She thinks she looks. I've been living under a rock.
Yeah, she thinks she is a super creepy. Have seen E. Have you seen like seen what? Well, I'm aware. I used to have, yeah, I had a doll of him.
He had a doll of him.
He had a doll of him.
I inherited it.
Passed down.
He's leather.
What legacy of families do you have here?
I don't know.
It was always just there.
In the Will, what was left?
This is E.T. doll for Jacqueline.
So you don't know.
It was just there.
All right.
Yeah, that would be E.
Got to kill E.T.
Even though I love the little.
Why are you to kill him?
I don't know.
I don't know. No spoilers.
No spoilers.
No spoilers.
Yeah. That's why the movie's famous.
It's rather than murdering E.T.
Okay.
And then the last one.
You got this.
Cody Price asks, after seeing how powerful noisy cricket gun is, would you choose noisy cricket or series four deatomizer?
Oh, Series four?
Yeah.
Absolutely.
I don't want to get.
If Will Smith is getting blasted in the next Tuesday, I'm done.
I'm dying from one shot of that.
When you apply logic.
The kickback.
The kickback.
Yeah.
When you apply logic, it's like, why did Tommy Lee Jones give him that gun?
To fuck with him.
Like, obviously, it's going to fuck with him.
It's got to be the only reason.
Well, I think maybe if we're going to go super analytical.
Yeah, let's see.
That's what this movie's made for.
Yes.
It's a kind of experience you're supposed to have.
He's trying to teach him not to judge a book by its cover.
Fair.
Fair.
And to maybe expand his mind and be more open.
Okay.
That's a positive analytical.
That of being so stuck in his own ways.
What he thinks is right.
That's actually kind of beautiful.
It's a lesson.
Or just bad choice.
Anyway, guys, we watch Men in Black.
Jackie.
This is not the first upload with you.
but it is the first one we shot together.
Isn't that funny how time works?
Oh, really?
You didn't know that, did you?
I didn't know that.
I don't know what's going on.
No.
They just let me out of the shed
and then they like put me on this table and...
It was like, well, we don't know how it's going to go in the first video.
So let's not shoot the first upload first.
Let's shoot one of these ones first.
And then even though I feel like this is a pretty popular movie.
So maybe this shouldn't have been your first video.
Oh.
Yeah, who knows?
It's over for me.
I thought you did good.
Thank you.
You were good.
You were engaged.
You said stuff sometimes and you made expressions.
I do say stuff.
The art of watching a movie.
We'll see you guys.
Bye.
