When the frustration grows and the doubts start to creep in,
we all need someone who has our back.

because their belief in us transfers to self-belief

We all need someone to make us believe.

Yeah, let's rock and roll.
Baby, Mission Possible 2.

appreciate you also go to reject nation shop dom get your gear yo get your gear okay gear up
come on now um all right so how do you feel now after two after two we got mission
impossible
I feel.
Because I feel like for you
you were you were off and on on it.
I was off and on.
I had a lot of fun.
That's what I can say.
Listen.
You know, Tom Cruise did his thing.
And, you know,
listen, I don't think good needs to equate to fun.
But I had a lot of fun watching this movie.
A lot of goofy.
lot of goofy choices, a lot of editing, but I can say at the end of the day, this is a movie
I could put on with some friends and have a good time with and just watch and just
revel in its ridiculousness, but also revel in its coolness.
You know, Tom Cruise was kicking every which direction, saw a lot of action, saw a lot of eye
contact, you saw a lot of zooms.
And that's all you really need at the end of the day.
early 2000s movie what more can a man ask for you know got a fun villain got some some wonky
CGI masks some voice changers anthony hopkins he's here yeah you know it's a fun one
I think I prefer the first one overall as a film because it's funny because the first one
was like all right we're going to do the story this this mystery this man on the run kind of story
But it's not going to have a lot of action.
It's going to have a little bit of action.
I'm not going to have a lot of action.
This one's going to like, oops, all the action.
You want action?
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Four scenes in a row of action.
You're welcome.
That's what I feel.
You mean in this one.
In this one.
Yeah.
Boom, bam, bow.
True.
And kicks.
And motorcycles.
And a lot of off-screen death.
All the basic Tommy Cruz juice.
We did get running.
We got good hair, too.
We got, we didn't get as much running.
We did get running.
A little bit of running.
A little bit of running.
We did.
I think like I had more fun with this movie.
I think only because I'm like obsessed with Tom Cruise and the fact that he does his own stunts.
I'm always.
I think that he's so smart for being the producer and actor and like that he is to be like,
I'm going to do my own stunts because I don't want you to be taken out of the movie.
So now that we know that fact,
I'm literally like even if it the movie obviously won better than this one but I am so engaged in like uh that's him that's him oh my god that's still him uh I'm just I'm like enthralled like oh my god it's still Tommy which I find that just a lot of fun the um when was this made I think it was made in the early obviously early 2000s there was a strong choice that John Wu who the director and
is John Wu. He was making and it was probably a lot of choices that other people were making at the time possibly. Like that was the style. I think that obviously he really wanted to take his time with certain shots with a vibe. He loves the slow-mo shots, right? Even just from the beginning, right? When we see Tom on the mountain, he's climbing, but then we get a slow-mo.
most shot of like wind in his hair and then Thandi making the walk to the X.
Yeah.
Just that was a five minute walk.
And then even when we're when we're having the shootout, music kicks in that's very
cinematic and operatic that almost makes you feel like you're in a different movie because
of what you're seeing.
But again, the fight, there's parts of that slow mo, right?
He just loves the slow mo stuff.
I don't think it's a bad thing.
I think that in the first one, the pacing was almost perfect.
In this one, there's certain points with the length of time they're taking on those specific shots
in combination with the exposition, meaning you have characters telling us what we're looking
at and what we're doing, possibly saying it again while we're there.
Why do we have to do this?
Let's remind this character why.
And I assume they put that in because they want the audience to know, right?
They're like trying to help us out.
I never like exposition.
I don't like it.
Just trust that we can figure it out also gives us more like twist and turns and surprises there.
I did not know.
I would not have thought maybe just because I'm a little bit out of it, totally out of it today,
that that guy was going to be the mask at the end.
You're like, oh, it's not Tom.
That's why he's not talking.
I probably would have caught on, but I was like, oh, I, I did not realize until at the very last minute.
So I've not said anything.
No, no, no.
Because it happened, it happened right away.
And I went, oh, oh, yeah, that makes sense.
Because I caught on right when he started to go.
Because why would he do that?
Why would Tom look at the villain guy like this with knowing eyes?
And then I was like, oh, yeah, he's the other guy.
I do get what you mean by like I meant to go well maybe he's got a case of 12 masks in there
all the bad guys he pulls out whichever one he's got a sting on right um that he had yeah he's just
got him everywhere I don't know where he keeps him um but I did still think you know this was fun
obviously him and him and Sandy have a great um connection there's just some some points I think
in this movie that he's he was trying to push
with the music and the pacing and some of like the queuing of the tears, how the characters
are sad, kind of pushing us in this dramatic arena for this film. Totally fine. I just don't
think it hit 100%. Like when the villain's crying in his house, when he finds out Fandy is like,
is, you know, like teaming up with Tom Cruise and they're finding him out. You know, he's crying
in his house, right? I get it. I do.
because he obviously, you know, he's in love with Fandy and Fandy's character.
But there's just a lot of kind of pushing us in this dramatic area with this film,
which I didn't fully expect.
I like it, but I wasn't sold on it 100%.
Yeah, I was more entertained by it than I was invested in the characters.
I was like, because when that happened, he's so mad.
He's crying.
You know, I just thought it was funny.
I know.
Like Aaron's laughing throughout this whole movie.
And I get why you were laughing, too.
like fun bad i had a good time with it it just was like and it's not like the acting was bad it
didn't it probably didn't bother me as much as maybe it bothered him in the fun in the fun way
i was really just trying to look at it of like what is he trying to sell us here what is he
trying to get across and i think he was trying to get across with the slow time he took
with tom and fanny in the beginning and they're in love and like the way they look at each other
and now she's with the ex and they kiss.
Tommy's jealous.
Like, it's this dramatic effect between relationships that I wasn't sold on, right?
I wanted really, I thought that we could have just gone,
you could have seen him be mad and then get to like,
well, of course, if I knew that, remember what he said to the guy?
He's like, well, of course, if I knew that she was going to double team me,
I might as well get in a couple of pounds in there before I kill her.
that's basically what he said right something that something like that to make him like this villainous
character um which i would have believed more without like the tears if you just want to would have
went to mad but um that's just me there's just the slow-mo stuff but overall i really liked it
had a lot of fun once like the pacing would pick up i thought it was really smart that thandie
injected herself i was curious if she had known that information i don't remember how she got it
but i'm glad that she did that meaning they're putting her in a position where she
She is a smart character, right?
She's a thief.
They wanted her to be on the team, obviously, to get the X.
I like that they put her there that she's smart enough to know
that now she's worth $37 million.
Great.
And I like their chemistry a lot.
And obviously, Tom Cruise and all the stunts is just wackadoo wild.
Hey, guys, I've hit a point in life where I realize time flies.
And if you're not intentional about your future, sneaks up on you.
And my whole life, the advice was always start investing when you're young.
Start investing when you're young.

more than ever, and I think Acorns is a great reflection of that.

the movie uh argyle before i don't think so okay it's it's a newer movie but uh there's essentially
the the movie i don't think i'll let me react to it one day um but yeah it's there's some
aspects of that movie that i won't get into it's like it's almost like a caricature of like heightened
action yes and i felt that during a certain point of this movie but not like not like a bad
but is argyle doing it on purpose it is doing it on purpose okay and but the thing is i enjoyed it
here because it was ridiculous whether it knew it was or it did not it was not going for that
erin i know you were laughing but that's why i was like i get it but it's it's definitely not
and i don't blame you for that but if argyll was obvious this one i don't think was
at all. You know it's funny. I don't think he knew. I think he thought that the slow mo between them
looking and going and the slow mo with him going like winking and kicking up the gun. That's a cool
stunt. I like to see that. Slow mo. That's odd. That's that's like insane. He had to kick it up.
That's Tom. He kicks it up. The sand goes up. He grabs it. He flips her. All that.
Dope as hell. I just wanted the pacing and the, um, the urge to like get there. And what,
what the antecedent was and the after effect a little bit different not as dramatic okay yeah
i feel like you know like oh here we go kick it up let's get it done this is an action film right
and there's a lot of moments where we are in that we're getting in the pacing and and we get it
but in no way i can guarantee that that was on purpose the the mode here yeah yeah i don't i don't
know what they're i think they just wanted to make a really fun cool movie it felt very much like
we're late 90s early 2000s yeah and this uh this came on 2000 the year 2000 itself okay so now now
we have a good idea of we're going from great late 90s early 2000s for the editing for the zooms
it's like we just maybe got final cut that year and zoom came in i don't know i don't know that's probably
not true but um they they did play with a lot of choices and i feel like in the reflection shots as
well they like those right in the glasses he he wanted to play with shots that were like cool right
which i get and and um i think probably for a good amount of people when you're in a movie and you're
watching this because you're a mission impossible fan so you're going to come back to it that you really
actually don't mind the kind of melodramatic over dramatic like slow mo kind of like he's going to
catch her scarf in the wind and pull her in for a kiss because you're just like Tommy's going to come in
and kick some butt soon you know what if you had a guest here we think this gone run tomatoes
okay um a critic score I would say 61 percent I wouldn't be surprised if maybe they were
I would say 61%.
Am I close on that?
Because then I'll guess audience.
You're saying 61%?
Yeah, for critics.
But I haven't guessed audience yet.
Critics?
Yes.
56%.
Okay.
See, so I was close there.
So that brings me the audience.
I would say the audience is probably around 72.
Very final answer?
That is.
42.
Really?
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
So they did.
Okay. See, because when I'm sitting here with you, I think we're movie people.
We watch movies. We talk about them. We critique them. We break them down. We watch them.
We're like, is this a good script or not? And I'm thinking, well, we're those people.
An audience is not. They're just like, I'm here for Tom Cruise and like bang them up.
Right. But hey, this script, it wasn't very good. So I guess the people they know.
But it wasn't good, but it was fun.
I genuinely had fun.
I do don't think it deserves a 42%
because I still was like, whoa,
are you looking at those stunts?
We still got explosions.
That's what we're here for.
You see Tom Cruise hanging off a freaking rock
and I swear to God.
Y'all leave that in the comments
because we don't want to get in trivia
because there's spoilers in there.
No, we're not going to do that.
We're not going to do that.
But I believe that he was not hooked up
and that's him freaking rock climbing,
which is Wackadoo Wild, man.
We're here for Tom Cruise, which is why I said at the end of the move.
If we don't have Tommy, we don't have anything.
No, no.
Because we don't.
The script wasn't that great.
There's like some stuff.
Even like, I get it.
Like the, yes, it's kind of, it's a little bit funny that the white dove comes out.
And that's his clue to go back and look for Tom.
It's a little weird.
It's a little weird, you know.
It's a little goofy.
Do we do the rotten tomatoes for the first one?
Do you remember?
I don't remember.
We can, we can check that.
I think the first one got.
Oh, God.
First one for critics, I'm going to go, sometimes they're jerks.
I'm going to go, I want to go 91.
I'm going to go 89.
And for audience, I'm going to go 94.
Critics, 65% for the first one.
I hate them.
Audience 71%.
What?
You guys, Mission Impossible One.
See why I tell you when I'm sitting here watching a movie with you.
you and I go, well, I'm not going to be too critical because the audience might just be like,
this is fun.
And then I see that for Mission Impossible One.
It's like, listen, that makes me upset only because Mission Impossible is a one of a kind.
Nobody was doing.
Hold on.
Did Face Off come out before or after this?
Let's see.
So after the first one or the second one?
After the first one.
Face Off.
Let's see.
Face Off movie.
Face Off was 97.
God.
And I don't know.
if they use masks in that.
Face off, I saw
that once when I was like a kid,
and it has to do with exchanging face stuff,
okay? Now, listen.
Great's love that one.
It's a good film. I remember really liking that.
I don't remember anything about it
except the poster where it says face off.
We should watch that. Now, listen, I think
Mission Impossible is one of a
freaking kind. I don't agree
with those ratings. I think that
the first one, what he, that
was a practical mask, y'all.
get out of here.
That's awesome.
It was cool.
Give me a break.
The stunts and he's like sweating and he can't drop a thing of sweat.
If you're not tense in that movie, I don't know who you are.
And that movie delivered on the stunts and the tense and the action.
And this one, it didn't do as much, but it gave us some of it.
Y'all, if you're not a Tense or Mission Impossible One, I'm sorry, we're not going camping.
I'll tell you that right now.
That's Wackadoo Wild to me.
that deserves way higher of a score in my opinion um this one all right audience you've you've you've made
the choice you realize this script was not very good maybe they were laughing too maybe they were
maybe i thought people didn't like it genuinely really yeah i would give it a higher score for the fact
that i just had fun you know you go to movies to feel to laugh to cry to enjoy yourself as an escapism i escaped
baby, I got out.
Like we were in a love story with him and Sandy in the bathtub.
I'm like, who, getting the Tommy juice all going.
And then they're, they're vibing.
And then we're off and we're running to the races.
They got their, their juices flowing when they got to a car accident.
That's right.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
I forgot.
He saved up a cliff.
Oh, my God.
The way he whipped her up, y'all, in that shot, I guarantee you.
I think, I think people have made like comments.
they're like dandy's too little but like she's just a small woman she's not like whatever i think
she's like five one tiny he literally grabs her arm and he thought he was like he looked like he's
whipping up a child if you go back and watch that shot it's wild how quickly he rolls her up um yeah
and then she lands just right there on top of him and they they got the juice in the eyes it's great
it's just come on now it's got it's got the stuff in it i'm good with it i'm good with it i'm good
with it um what else you got to say before we get out of here i'm good i'm ready for three i wonder what
they're going to do is is standing coming back who knows i know i don't know it's a long franchise i
don't know of the main characters keep their love interest that long we're going to find out i know
we're definitely going to find out well especially because ving came back i wonder if he's in all of them
i don't know though um so i guess we'll see i'm excited to see please if you're going to comment don't
leave any spoilers.
Don't do it.
Okay.
We love you guys.
And we will see you on the next one.
Wow.
