Hello there, citizens of the Reject Nation!
We're gonna do a bit of a different type of trailer react on.
We apparently got the little teaser here, Mortal Kombat.
It's only a minute long, Mortal Kombat 2.
And then we're gonna watch a couple of fantastic four clips,
along with one teaser trailer that apparently gives you a good insight into what the plot is.
So you guys can hop around.
Funny enough, John actually just finished watching a couple hours ago,
first time watching Rise of the Silver Surfer.
So keep a lookout for that reaction. Keep a lookout for the first movie reaction too.
I'm an expert now.
Oh, another thing I do want to mention, the podcast, Real Rejects podcast is actually going to be a livestream.
Since we weren't able to fulfill that duty last time when the internet went wrong,
we're going to do a proper Real Rejects podcast live stream this Saturday, 12 p.m. PST. Please
tune in. It'll be a really, really, really, really, really fun time. Let's get to it.
From New Line Cinema, the studio that brought you Cool Hand Cage.
Hard to cage.
And rebel without a cage.
Let's go.
Comes Uncaged Fury.
Starring Johnny Cage.
It's showtime.
They pissed him off.
I love this with his shades.
Oh, no, not the shame.
They should have brought more guys.
You should have brought more guys.
Oh.
That's like. Wow.
It's always a little toy miniature.
They want to come out logo.
Yeah. Wow. Cool.
That was great.
That was fun.
That's our vibe.
That's our vibe right there.
It's funny because the original Mortal Kombat movie opened the first time you see Johnny Cage, he's filming a scene and
This one they're showing you a clip and it is because of the type of film it is is showing how much of an earlier era
He was an action star in so by the time you see him in actual present time for Mortal Kombat 2
He will be the aged Johnny Cage
Someone who is a has-been, you know?
Yeah.
I think it's a really great teaser,
and it's like people who are question...
I think it's a really great way to prime the audience, too,
for people who are like,
oh, he's kind of older, is he going to be the right fit
for Johnny Cage?
But it shows that he can totally pull it off.
Well, yeah, and this was like a great tease
because, A, it's fun,
and I think that just goes a long way.
But also it's like something you could whip together pretty quick that involves
stunts, involves fighting, but isn't like the full package of what you should be
expecting from the movie.
And so it does feel like the it feels like a true teaser in a very satisfying kind of way.
And it showcases obviously Carl, Carl Urban's charisma.
Yeah. And, you know know you get those little grind house
embellishments all the grain and stuff like yeah I I I if this
you know if his character matches this I'm very excited
to see you know that fish out of water and that sort of like
ash Williams kind of quality of like oh I think I'm a bad ass
but I got become an actual bad.. I think it's all there.
I can't wait for the official trailer for this to come out.
This is a great first teaser.
This is how you do a teaser, baby.
I'm excited.
What do you guys think about this trailer?
Leave your thoughts down below.
All right.
Let's watch some Fantastic Four stuff.
Oh, boy.
Oh, boy.
Hey, let's do Clipper or TV Spot.
Which one?
Show me the TV spot leading me into the juice. Reject Nation,
I'm gonna interrupt this video just for a tiny bit to tell you that we were so inspired by this
movie it suddenly got our creative juices flowing and now we suddenly have three new inspired teas
at rejectnationshop.com. Can't wait to share them with you guys. The first one up right here,
Being Kind is punk rock. You might have heard a few of us already talking about that theme of punk rock
and Being Kind is such a big part of the heart of this movie. I'm so glad that we
got Alyssa B. Krazy to design this for us. It is a fantastic representation of
the vibes and the fun of this film and of course the theme as well. Another one
that we got, the Krypton sunscreen from the Mind of Aaron Alexander artist. Joanne
and Alyssa B. Krazy combined their efforts here.
It is a throwback to that classic sunscreen design,
but I feel like it is so emblematic of the type of vibe
that Krypto and Superman have in this movie together.
And the third one, weirdly personally, my favorite.
Hi, my name is Gary.
If you guys have seen the movie, you get the reference.
And for some reason, it ended up being my favorite one.
I absolutely love it
And I hope you guys love either one of these if you're able to buy any one of them
It is an amazing way to support the channel support the artists here as well get a lot of weird
Monetization issues that for many youtubers probably talk about it and it is a very real thing
So it's a great way to offset some of it and hopefully you guys get something in return that you enjoy
Rocking and it's the way you become a
righteous reject so become a righteous reject today by buying any one of these tees i can't
wait to be wearing these throughout the year and i hope you guys can't wait to be wearing them as
well thank you so so so much we're gonna go back to the video now could you take us through how
you defeated galactus oh snap she got the baby hello Hello Franklin. We didn't. Not yet. Not yet we didn't.
We attempted to negotiate but Galactus. Wow. Oh ask? He asked for our child. I called that. I called that.
Are we safe?
Has he taken his first steps?
I don't know.
That has so much tension in that.
Yeah.
That's a tense ass spot right there.
Yeah, I want to show them.
Very revealing trailer.
That is for sure.
It is a very revealing trailer.
It's a very revealing trailer.
That's for sure.
It's a very revealing trailer.
That's for sure.
That's for sure.
That's for sure.
That's for sure.
That's for sure.
That's for sure.
That's for sure. That's for sure. That's for sure. That's for sure. That's a tense ass spot right there. Yeah, I want to show that.
Very revealing trailer.
That is for sure.
It is a very revealing trailer.
It's a very revealing trailer.
That's for sure.
Yeah.
Especially because it's like this
is honing in on stuff that from the first trailer,
you wouldn't even think to think about 100%
unless you know the connection, obviously,
between Silver Surfer and.
Well, when we were discussing it in the last trailer reaction,
I did bring Coyne.
I started going back and forth about the possibility of why
he might, not specifically why he would want Franklin,
but I could see why that would be a possibility.
I've been reading a lot of Fantastic Four comics lately.
And Franklin is considered like Omega level. You know, he is
he's got abilities got crazy abilities and
Galactus respects him in a lot of ways. And so like there's two versions where you could see of like Galactus
either Devouring him because of an ability to absorb or
Sometimes I would partnership I could see like two different versions of why he would want.
Yeah, there's like a lot of reasons where we can go down.
I want to like say too much.
Hold your power in my image.
That kind of thing. Yeah. Yeah.
Well, yeah, yeah.
There's like, I guess he has to devour planets to stay alive
and to sustain himself.
And Franklin would have abilities.
Franklin, at one point, he point he created like a whole universe. Oh wow. If he could just do that then he would be infinitely sustained.
They could yeah have synthetic blood for all the vampires and the problem solves.
They keep feeding him synthetic words but the problem is he's going to you know lose the taste of real worlds and crave that again. And then, you know, it's not like. I was just, that's like the theory,
when they were showing him in the trailers,
like that's why I was bringing up,
I'm like, I feel like Franklin's gonna be like
way more important in this movie
as opposed to they just had a baby.
Yeah.
And that's making it,
then now they made it like abundantly clear, yeah.
Well, and over time it's become like way more high,
I had like an aha moment that seemed so obvious
in hindsight where I was like, oh, first step,
like the significance of the title First Steps
keeps building dimensions on top of itself.
And then with something like this, I'm like, oh,
of course, the baby is like it going
to be a hugely crucial element of this.
And that makes sense.
It's like, what would you do?
It wants your child, but also the fate of the, at least
our world.
Yeah.
It's a pretty compelling clip honestly.
Now let's travel back in time to what took place before this clip. Bad call in your end
John. We should have one with these first. It would have been the perfect. Then we could
have put the whole movie together. Now let's do this. Lucky charms. What are you doing?
What do you mean? What am I doing? You mean one of my doing?
You're gonna ruin your appetite. I'm hungry Wow. Love the production design, man
We're never late for Sunday dinner. Should we wait? He does
You're late
40 seconds. What do you mean? What do you mean? What do I mean? You're late for dinner? Oh, yes, we are really by single minute Yes, we were just you're late with some aloe I don't
She is also late. Why is that breakfast cereal in the dinner table? Why are you being weird?
You know, I'm not being weird. Well, I'm doing that weird thing with your face. Oh, we don't know what you're talking about
Are you pregnant? Oh, he's so sweet
Yeah, yes
No, that have you looked at your husband's face? I know he just cannot keep a secret. Really? Yeah
Oh what?
Oh, what? You are going to be the best mom.
Oh my God. And you are going to be the best dad. Just kidding.
You are out of your depth. But we're going to be the best uncles ever.
Yes, you will. Okay, we should eat.
Oh, that was fun. That was charming.
All right. They've got chemistry. They've got chemistry.
We'll talk more about that clip in a second.
Let's just watch the other one.
Are you the protectors of this world?
Yes, we are.
Your planet is now marked for death.
Your world will be consumed by the devourer.
Don't panic.
There is nothing you can do to stop him.
For he is a universal force.
I love the art design, man.
Yeah.
Hold your loved ones close.
Spooky.
Spider-Man.
And speak the words you've been afraid to speak.
I love you.
Use this time to rejoice
and celebrate
for your time is short.
I love the tension.
I herald his beginning.
I herald your end.
I herald
Galactus.
Hey, not bad.
Wow, two very different shades of the movie.
They got some good tension on all these.
Well, you know, the middle clip had, you know,
light-hearted tension, but, you know, still good tension
on all these.
Yeah, I'll say, like, it's interesting.
I've been, you know, from going from Superman,
when I felt like so much of the comics I had been reading was like lifting off of the page
And going to this I don't have that same feeling of this feels like the characters
I've been reading and I've been reading two different runs
primarily the Jonathan Hickman run which this director has cited as one of their main inspirations and
Then the run for that's been going on the present day, I forget who the art
writer is from. It's like starting twenty twenty two, I believe.
So getting different versions, we see similarities there amongst the
characters, right? And they don't they're not really feeling like what I
what I saw in there, you know, but I don't actually mind that.
And you might disagree with me,
but I don't mind it.
I actually like...
It seems like there is a direction
that they're taking with their characters,
and it's specific.
The vibe, the portrayals,
it doesn't just seem like, you know, they're...
I feel a passion behind the camera.
Yeah. I feel a passion behind the camera. Yeah, I feel a passion with it, with the cast still.
And I'm loving the different flair and tone and it,
you know, to have Thunderbolts, which I absolutely loved.
And then to have this, which is a very different vibe.
It's smart that the MCU is really doing two different
movies, like very, very different feeling movies you know but
they both have like a familial core at the center yeah yeah I like the I like
the two clips and then the TV spot a lot like I've had my you know every trailer
reaction I've expressed some concerns but these three things for the most part
I kind of squashed all that mm-hmm yeah I mean this this certainly gave me it's
weird everything we've seen from this has felt
like a little bit different. Like, it's weird.
I'm not getting what I feel like
or like pieces from the same puzzle to kind of put together.
I feel like each thing kind of has a...
I'm not sure. I am still curious about
what the totality of the movie is going to look and feel like,
but I got a better, I feel like, window through these things,
and I do like how much it seems to be obviously embracing its time and place.
But in other ways that kind of complement the cinematic language and such.
And it was kind of reminding me of like what sparked with Wanda Vision, you know,
that that kind of not that we've not done anything period in the MCU.
But yeah, like I feel like even the way the tension is captured and just the way everyone's listening in and everything
feels like you can feel everyone's baited breath
through these clips.
And I think that's pretty cool.
And yeah, the middle one gave me at least a taste of, yeah,
their rhythm as the four of them.
There are certainly more definitive flavors
that we'll get across the movie.
But yeah, I thought this was like a nice little cross
section of things.
And it's like, what's her name?
Shalabal looks really cool.
And I like the, you know, seeing the songy, eerie quality
and the sort of detached sort of, you know,
hug your loved ones, celebrate,
for soon you'll be no more. And then I wasn't expecting, yeah, the sort of detached sort of, you know, hug your loved ones, celebrate, for soon you'll be no more, you know?
And then I wasn't expecting, yeah,
the sort of direct confirmation of like,
we went, we spoke to Galactus, this is what he wants.
We're, you know, the underdogs now.
But it seems like this could be, yeah,
surprisingly intense while also hopefully translating
the bounce of, you know, Marvel's first family.
Yeah.
Well, those are our thoughts for today.
What did you guys think about these moments
from Fantastic Four?
Are you completely sold, Linda?
How excited are you for it?
Thank you guys for watching.
Thank you guys for supporting.
And I'll see you soon, Reject Nation.
Bye.
