Starting point is 00:01:45 Let's bring up. All right, guys. So if you're listening to us on Apple or Spotify, Please give us a five-star rating if you're on the YouTube, like, comment, subscribe, when you do ring the bell, ring the bell. Also, thank you to prep for helping to edit down these highlights, would be here without them. So we just got done watching season one of Game of Thrones. Yeah, yeah. All right. So here we go. This is from Tara.
Starting point is 00:02:22 In order to survive the political landscape of King's Landing, people need to be strategic, deceitful, willing to lie and betray. Ned Stark is an honorable man. If you were his advisor, what would you have advised him to do once he learned about Cersie? Did we answer this yesterday? Yeah. By the way, I produced. Right. We did answer that one yesterday.
Starting point is 00:02:46 So go look at the review seven and eight. But thank you, Tara, for the question. We appreciate you. Jaden Rhodes, I think this first season is probably one of the best first seasons of the show. It tests the tone, the setting, and I love when a show is the guts to kill off a main character. I'm curious if you all agree with it being one of the best first seasons. It's almost as good as small. I'm just not going to go there.
Starting point is 00:03:08 But it was phenomenal. I would agree. And it definitely was ambitious to kill off Ned Stark like that. So I would definitely agree with that. I'm curious to see where we go from here because I truly do. feel like it's not going to be the same show without him. Having said that there's so many incredible characters on the show that this gives you a kind of a platitude of you have so many different directions you can go now with the death of this character. So yeah, I would agree. This
Starting point is 00:03:40 is definitely one of the best first seasons I've ever seen from a show. I'm trying to think of like some of my favorite shows where I've watched a first season because I've seen some really good first seasons but this is definitely up there so i do appreciate too when you see this happen as well tera seeing a main character like this die you know that the stakes are always ramped up and that nobody is safe and that anybody can be killed off at any which time so i think that's what they did by making a statement by saying and also too shan bean just kind of dies and everything for the most part maybe there's one or two films where he doesn't die but having said that again it's a statement to be made that nobody is safe in the show good or bad character
Starting point is 00:04:19 so yeah i think it's one of the best first seasons in a show like for sure i'm totally with you on that jaden um and i think the way that they end it i mean you would think that having net stark's head cut off would be like the big to do the big ending like what in the actual eff are we going to do who's going to go to war for him how are we going to take down the lannisters except we end on an even bigger note, which is that Calisi is the true dragon, and we now have three baby dragons, which means
Starting point is 00:04:53 as soon as those come to age, she has dragons. And the Targaryen had the throne before, why we heard earlier, dragons. And then everyone was like, well, the dragons are gone. So that's why everything is changed. But now they're back.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Good luck, Chopra. So we will have to see. All right. Okay. from Janelle. Thank you so much for being a royal reject and for asking a question. We appreciate you. How are you both feeling about that ending? Did you guys think they'd go there? Always fun watching with you both. Thank you. How'd you feel about the ending? Um, I mean, I assume that you're talking about the ending with Ned. Um, I, you definitely don't see it coming because he
Starting point is 00:05:40 confesses. Um, so it totally sucks because you're like, man, we all love Ned. he's such a main freaking character and they just killed off a main dude so it like I hate it but also I get it you know and in good shows nobody should have plot armor
Starting point is 00:06:00 because it just doesn't make sense so I think that that was great and I think for the actual last episode for you Janelle is that is we've we got dragons now which is pretty dope so I'm excited about that. Dragon! Yeah, no, Janelle, I agree, and I agree with what Tara is saying, too, that
Starting point is 00:06:22 I did not expect the show to go there, but also at the same point, nothing about Joffrey surprises me, his smugness, his arrogance. We saw what he did with the butcher's son when that kid did not do anything wrong. He was so apologetic towards Joffrey. He was so respectful, and Joffrey still had the kid murdered. So I think that was kind of a foreshadowing for what was in fate or rather in line for Ned's fate here that you know don't ever assume anything with Joffrey that he is going to take the low point when it comes to a decision like this even if you are taking the high route he's going to take the low one so i it's i should say like i'm so surprised which i was but then like thinking back on that moment and with joffrey like and because
Starting point is 00:07:07 he has been in a life of he has not been raised by a very good mother and also Robert Barath I know that was not his biological father, but all intents purposes, that was the man who, I guess, raised him or was absent and never really there to raise him. So as a result, that is why he became what he became. And I know his uncle Tyrion, who is an awesome character,
Starting point is 00:07:32 my favorite on the show, which I will continue to keep saying until that is not the case anymore. He is trying, like we saw him slap him around a couple times, not because he was trying to physically assault him or anything, but he's trying to steer him in the right direction. He doesn't want him to, because he cares about him, and he's also a family member, and he wants to see him, you know, carry on the family lineage in the proper way. And he doesn't want to see him go the route of his father or his sister or his brother, Jamie.
Starting point is 00:07:59 So, yeah, it's definitely, I'm surprised, but then I wasn't surprised. So, and also the ending with Dineris was fantastic. I can't wait to see, like, what's in store. And she's got so much vengeance now on her mind just from what Robert Brathian, and the council tried to do to her with her husband and poisoning her and all that. And also, too, now that she's got dragons as they grow, Joffrey's in trouble. But also, we still got the White Walkers out there where there was not even closure or resolve on that. Like, so many different things are so exciting.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Yeah, there's a lot. Resonant Z. What was your initial thought about the consequences of his death? I remember thinking back to the conversation he had with John earlier in the season about telling him all about his mother the next time they met. and how he will never get to have that talk with him, sad times. Yeah. Did he, oh, oh, oh, oh, the time he had with John Snow is saying, okay, I thought they were talking about John Aaron.
Starting point is 00:08:56 I was like, I don't remember him talking with John Aaron? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, look, Ned was a very wise man. He was an ambitious man, and he wanted what was best for everyone, and he was just doing what he felt was right. I also think he did understand the threat level when it came to the Lannisters and he understood that his life could be in danger
Starting point is 00:09:22 by doing everything but he tried to do everything from a logical perspective and until his capture like I thought he was doing things the proper way but again everyone is trying to your surpower and position themselves in places and there's eyes and ears everywhere
Starting point is 00:09:40 it's like who do you trust in a place that you didn't even want to be in a place you don't even want power in it's like he was really in an impossible situation so when we talk about the consequences of his death like he had no control over this i feel like and even when he was willing to submit and do like for the for the the goodness of his family he was willing to submit to something he didn't even do he still was killed for it so i just he's such a noble and incredible human being and character and i just it's awful what happened to him and i'm can't wait I don't know what season it is,
Starting point is 00:10:14 but I can't wait for the day where Joffrey gets to pay for this. I'm hoping, like my, my hope and intent is that ARIA is going to be the one to, especially after what happened with the butcher's son, too. I'm hoping and praying that Aria is going to,
Starting point is 00:10:28 if it's not Aria, I'll still be happy if, like, a dragon burns his ass or something, but I want Aria to kill him so bad. Yeah. I think, in thinking about his consequences of his death, like the second you see that you just assume well there's already a war that's going on and this is only going to make it
Starting point is 00:10:49 worse because their whole thing is like honor so once they hear that ned star's head is cut off and it's done by the lannisters who they already freaking hate now we know it's like it's really on but especially in seeing that the targaryans denarius has dragons now it's a little scary because you're kind of thinking, we want the, the, the, the, the Starks to win. They now have the Barathians behind them, the Greyjoys. And you're like, okay, maybe we can go up against the Lannisters, even though they have a lot of people. But now if Calisi gets involved, she's got dragons, yo. And I don't know how long it takes for those dragons to grow.
Starting point is 00:11:35 So we'll have to see. But, yeah, I mean, I think the only thing in my head. to answer a question, resonance about the initial thought of the consequences is like, oh, this is full on war now. Like, this is going to cause some, some serious damage. And I thought maybe that Sonsa would actually find, maybe find a way to, like, hurt Joffrey because she's the one closest to him, but I don't know. She was close to pushing him.
Starting point is 00:12:04 She was really close. Yeah. Reject Nation, you and I make decisions every day. But on prize picks. Being right can actually get you paid. Now, truth, my wife, is a massive football fan. In fact, just a few weeks ago, I got to go back to our hometown. Watch a glorious Denver Broncos game.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Never been to a football game before. It was a hoot. Needless to say, she's the real fantasy sports expert in the house. She really gets involved. Like, no joke. And why am I talking about this? Because we're talking about prize picks. And what's prize picks?
Starting point is 00:12:31 It's a skill-based daily fantasy app, not gambling, because it's all about knowledge and strategy, not luck. You just pick more or less on two-player stats. For example, Sequin Barclay, more or less than one rushing TD for those who are not in the know. That means touchdown. Joe Burrell, more or less than 2.5 passing TD's touchdowns. Anyway, you get your picks right and you win cash. And you can play in over 40 states including California, Texas and Georgia.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Try stacks, pick the same player up to three times, or follow friends and creators to copy their lineup in one click. And if your player leaves early, injury reboot protects your lineup. So, Reject Nation, you can download the Price Picks app today. Use code rejects to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That's code rejects to get $50 in lineups after your first $5 lineup. Prize Vicks. It's good to be right.
Starting point is 00:13:23 All right. Curtis Ockerman. Thank you so much for being a royal reject and for asking us a question. We appreciate you so much. After the shocking death of two of its biggest stars, I'm including Mark Addy and that who played Robert Barathean, of course. Who do you think should get the throne? and what region of Westros would you wish to live?
Starting point is 00:13:44 Would you like to start with this one? No, you can go ahead. I say Tyrion should be the king just because he's my favorite, and I would say like it's going to be wine night every day or wine o'clock every moment of the day. I think he would be a great lead in seriousness. I mean, I guess maybe Robert Stark possibly. I don't know if he's ready to be king, though,
Starting point is 00:14:09 although he seemed like a very wise leader and all the values that Ned instilled into him. I could see him being a worthy leader. Did we, maybe I'm just not remembering again because not the excuse that we watch so much stuff, but did we meet Stanis, is that his name? The other brother of Robert Barthi. I know we met the other brother.
Starting point is 00:14:29 No, we never met him. Okay. I don't, it seems like he's a good dude, but I don't know because we haven't met him. We've just heard about him. So maybe him. but I'm also like look I've grown to love also
Starting point is 00:14:43 DeNaris I think she is like from washing her and again understandably why from everything she has grown up in to the physical abuse and the mental anguish she has had to deal with her whole life from her brother to the circumstances in which what happened to her father and everything like that
Starting point is 00:15:02 to see her become from a pushover to someone of having her own agency and standing up for herself and seeing this become this epic character and I'm sure she's going to become even more epic and now having these dry I would again if she doesn't have the ideals and the principles of like
Starting point is 00:15:19 as cool as call was like just like having this stoic epicness to him but like the Dothraki are not good people no effect like they made slaves of people they did a lot of heinous shit so as long as she doesn't have those type of ideals I'd be down for her
Starting point is 00:15:35 and Jora to be I'm shipping them right now know, I just want Tara and you to know, et cetera, I want those two to be together and I would be down for them to be, I guess, her, the queen and him, her husband, but I'd be down for them to be the leaders because he's such an honorable and cool guy as well. So despite his, you know, his past that he had. But I think he's making up for it now and doing awesome shit. What about you, Tara? I think that any of the Starks could have the throne and do a really, a really great job. I think that's like mainly what most audience members would want. But here's the thing. About DeNaris, when she says to them, you have been slaves, you are now free.
Starting point is 00:16:21 True. You can stay or you can go. And now you will operate as brothers and sisters, not as slaves. You are here and you are free, but you are following me of your own volition. true so that is really what a good leader would do so she's really stepped up i mean we we just see you know three different bannermen sort of pledge their time to rob and say king in the north which is great because that's very exciting the starks obviously have a good great moral code but then we see denarius where it's sort of the same and she has dragons and it's it's said as they keep telling us that Targaryens are the ones that were the rightful heir to the throne because it did start there even though he was cuckoo bananas. So we'll have to see where it goes. But I would
Starting point is 00:17:18 say I would go for for those two options. I agree with everything. You just said my only fears and I don't think this would happen to DeNaris, but we'll have to wait and see is just once you do attain this power, like do things change? Do you like become mad with power? You know what I mean? I don't think that would happen with De Nair's because all the time we spent with her and seeing her. But also, she's never been in a position of this kind of power. If she was, you know, the king or the queen, rather, or the game, you know, and ahead of the Game of Thrones, whatever it is. But I'd be anxious and curious to see as well, like, what she would do.
Starting point is 00:17:51 But I believe in her. I'd have faith in her, for sure. Yeah. What up, Jay Rushden? Question. Who's your favorite character in season one for trivia? For trivia. Kingslanding has three black hats named Boots Lady Whisker.
Starting point is 00:18:04 and Sir Pounce. Love that. I think we all know who my favorite character is. It's Joffrey. I think he's such an upstanding man. I think the world would be a better place if there were more Joffreys out there. We'd live in peace and harmony. So I'm going to go with Joffrey.
Starting point is 00:18:22 Sarcasm. He brought it today. Sometimes I do. Sometimes I do. Definitely, Tyrion. I think he is so quick-witted. He is, I'm not going to call him. He's definitely not a coward.
Starting point is 00:18:34 but he knows he knows his worth and i think he is such an upstanding person like in all the face of the adversity he has been given in life and all the people who have literally and this is not me making a pun like all the people have literally looked down up upon him and he still faces it with with um gusto and courage and nobility and with like a sense of humor i freaking appreciate that because granted i'm not his size and i don't know what that feels like but I do know what it feels like to be looked down upon and to not feel like I'm there and to feel almost invisible at that point.
Starting point is 00:19:11 So I can resonate with him on that level and to still have that charm and that charisma and that personality that he has. I love him so freaking much. So I would definitely pick Tyrion. Yeah, he's the best. So I would go in between Aria and Kaleesi right now because they have both really fun storylines.
Starting point is 00:19:34 I mean, Aria is now Ari who's boy, but she is a badass. I like that she is now with the bastard son, a Barathean, who I believe made her sword. So that's like a lot of fun. You see them match up, that I wonder what sort of trouble and or not trouble will they get into because we know that she can cover her own ass. And now that DeNaris has her dragons. It's like, I don't know who could stop her.
Starting point is 00:20:04 She's got dragons. Once they grow, yeah. She has dragons, dude. Like, what? Okay. And I love that. I don't know if you watch on my channel too, Jay, if you've seen my cancer, Grinch and Mika. But they're on my channel when I watch Love Island.
Starting point is 00:20:22 You might be a person who watches Love Island with me, which is why you're mentioning the black cats. Mine, Grinch and Mika, these are cool names too. And I appreciate those facts. I see you, Jay. Yeah, no, good points. Oh, by the way, we didn't answer the previous question about the second part. What region of the Westeros would we wish to live?
Starting point is 00:20:42 Definitely want to live at the wall just for the height itself. I would just, I would like to go bungee jumping. I think that would be fun, especially in a cold time of year. I think that'd be an experience I would never forget. What about you? Yep, nope. Winter fell. Winter fell. Yep, that's where I am going.
Starting point is 00:20:59 He's cuckoo and wants to bungee in negative 35 degrees. weather. But that's Andrew, you know? Okay, well, we have been loving this. I'm so glad that you guys sent us in questions. Very excited for season two. Can't wait. Can't wait to get to it.
