So before we get into this, tell me what you're thinking and how you're feeling about the show and these. Oh, man. This is, yeah, the, the mist, that cliffhanger kind of, right? Yep.

Starting point is 00:02:42 That adds a layer to the story, which is pretty crazy. We learn a lot about Zorro this past episode and episode four. Yeah, three and four kind of accompany each other, right? Because like it's, the beginning is meeting Kaya and then her estate. And then from there, the end of episode three, you know, they're all like, all hope is lost. And then this is kind of their resolution. So I'm enjoying it so far. I have, I kept saying this during the episodes.

Starting point is 00:03:10 The choreography is amazing. So, and so a lot of the action sequences, sequences and fights scenes are like, like, keeping, keeping me interested for sure. But also the character work. They're all amazing characters. I'm trying to figure out who my favorite is. Yeah, that's tough. Yeah, because they're all, they're all bright.

Starting point is 00:03:30 Even, even, like, we're calling him Bull Cut. Like, he's annoying, but, like, fun to watch. and loving to hate, you know. I agree. But definitely the end, that little tag of, like, grandpa is, now I'm just curious to continue this journey. But, yeah, I'm enjoying myself. I'm having fun.

Starting point is 00:03:51 I like all the villains, which is pretty cool. They're all pirates that are kind of, like, reflections of Luffy's reality, right? Yeah. He's very, like, innocently, like, going on these adventures is when in their their like embodiments of real pirate life to a certain degree. Yeah. Which is pretty cool to kind of play off. Otherwise, again, fun watch.

Starting point is 00:04:16 Yeah, how about you? How are you feeling? Yeah, I mean, I'm liking it. I like how they kind of throw us off the scent a little bit with Usopp. And in the butler's like, listen, he's unwell up here. Yeah. And then he starts saying like, there's pirates, there's pirates, there's pirates, right? Yeah, yeah.

Starting point is 00:04:33 Like, and we're like, yeah, but he said it like a lot. Yeah. Yeah. So it does make it tough. But we see from the audience's perspective that he is just, he's doing the right thing. It's like out of the good of his heart, right? He just, it's bad timing. Right, right, right.

Starting point is 00:04:52 But I do like his arc so far. And that he was able to save Kaya. I was so, I was, because once Kaya was like, no, get out of here. You're not making. any sense. I was like, cool. Just wait outside. My thing was I was like, I just wait there and then get to receipts. Yes, yes, yes. Show her. But I'm glad. I'm even more happy that the writing went, okay, I'm just going to sit here and make sure you're safe. And until I know. And that just shows how much, like, Hart Usap has. So I'm really glad he's joined the

Starting point is 00:05:27 crew so far. There you go. We're still a little unsure about Nami and where she is exactly, Right, right. She's helped us, but I'm still, like, weird about to snail thing. Yeah. We haven't gotten anywhere with that. Right, right. That's true. We don't know what, yeah, where her, like, allegiance lies.

Starting point is 00:05:46 Yeah. We're not sure yet, but, yeah. I still don't know. And, but I do like that they named the ship going Mary. Yeah. I know that it's really sweet. Yeah. Because we didn't really know when Kaya, until Kaya was saying at the end, that Mary was like,

Starting point is 00:06:02 had been with her a lot. longest it was a great friend. So I thought that was a really nice thing that they did. And I think overall the show, the choreography and the the fights make the show. Yeah. On top of, yeah, every character is a different character, the styling, the costume design, the hair, all of that is so original. Right, right, right, right. And it's really entrenched in, like, creativity, which makes it fun to watch. But I think it's, like, it's so original. Right, right, right. And it's really, um, and drenched in, like, creativity, I think if we didn't have the amazing, like, DP mixed with the choreography, that the show wouldn't take off as well as it has. Meaning to me, this is like a surprise Netflix show.

Starting point is 00:06:49 Yes. That we're not getting like, oh, like the social effects look good, but this doesn't, it's not great, right? We're getting it all. Yeah, yeah. No weak link. Exactly. Exactly. Like they've threaded it together very well to not leave one stone unturned in making a TV show that started from comic book slash manga, whatever it is, and transfer it onto your TV as though you feel these things flying out of the page when you're reading it. Definitely.

Starting point is 00:07:23 And that's what you have to do if you're going to pull from a, like a comic. Yeah, of course. And I think this show is doing that. and they're the ones that they're doing it right because we've seen plenty of movies and shows that are not doing it, right? Well, I don't know how many I've seen, because I haven't seen like a ton. As you guys know, I haven't watched a ton of anime, etc.

Starting point is 00:07:42 But I haven't been told, hey, watch this thing. But I have been told to watch this. And it's great. It's a lot of fun. Definitely. So let's get into our questions. Fellow reject, why is it so hard to get carried away with food and so hard to stay consistent?

Starting point is 00:10:23 One running. That one's tough. for me. I don't watch a lot of animated stuff, so really, I'm going to really have to think, but he's going to have one quicker than I. Maybe. Long-running U.S. animated series.

Starting point is 00:10:38 So long-running, I'm trying to think of, like, yes, I know The Simpsons has been around forever. Yeah, what's considered long-running? Like, where's the line of, like, oh, that's not considered long-running? Yeah.

Starting point is 00:10:56 I am, just so you guys know, I'm looking up the top 50 animated TV series in the USA, just so that I have some options. Right, right. I would just go with like if it's in the 80s or more. I don't think we need to, or just, we don't, we could throw out the long running. No, yeah, like when I think of like something like South Park, which is long running, I want to see Kenny die every episode. I love that. And then he comes back unexplained. which is pretty cool.

Starting point is 00:11:27 I want to say Bob's Burgers and I'm currently looking up like, which is her freaking name? This one. Oh, yeah. The youngest one. I love her. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think she's,

Starting point is 00:11:39 hold on, sorry, guys, I'm looking up by MTV. I haven't watched Bob's burgers. Her voice is by. Is it Tina Belcher or is it by Christian Shaw? I think it's Christian Shaw. I think it is,

Starting point is 00:11:50 right? Yeah. Christian Shaw. I think that one, but also who's the, no, the deadpan one is this way. Who's the guy?

Starting point is 00:11:57 Yeah, yeah. That's what I was thinking, you guys. So anyhow, Dan, Mintz, Tina Belcher. Yeah. I like that as my choice. Oh, that'd be cool. Yeah, for the crew. Like, that would be fun.

Starting point is 00:12:09 I need a really, like, dead pan. You know what I mean? Where they're just there. Which kind of is Zorro. Zorro. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I wanted to be even more extreme. I think, yeah, they'd bond together really well.

Starting point is 00:12:22 They would, right? Yeah, yeah. So, wait, what, okay, what was yours again? I would be leaning towards Kenny from South Park because he would die. But I guess that might be his superpower, right? Like he comes back out of nowhere. Yeah. Like Lisa or Bart would be hilarious.

Starting point is 00:12:36 Like Lisa playing the saxophone on the pirate ship, that would be cool. That could be fun. But she's also really smart, so she could add some help. That's true. She could help them. Yeah, definitely. With the old intelligence. All right, you want to read our last question here?

Starting point is 00:12:59 my guess is Tara will say the Black Cat Pirates is. Yeah, well, I was mad that the Black Cat Pirates are the bad guys. Yeah. It's like that's what I would want to be. And I yelled it in the last episode, the Captain of the Black Cat Pirates. But they really F that up for me. They're not the good ones. But I do love the Black Cat Pirates.

Starting point is 00:13:22 I love that a lot. As conceptually, yeah. Yeah, like it's awesome. Yeah, I know you were just saying, like, you're trying to think who is your favorite character? Yeah, yeah. Which you guys have asked us this too, and I guess it's like it comes and goes. I think before we had mentioned in one or two that like bowl cut was fun. Yeah, yeah.

Starting point is 00:13:46 Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yes. And he's so insane. That's true. I do, and I also mention Buffy or whatever the clown's name. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. His name is Buffy or Buddy or something, yeah. Something like that.

Starting point is 00:13:59 I'm blanking too. He's fun. Yeah. Yeah, who are you kind of, who are you feeling? I guess let's just go off the these three and four. Yeah, yeah. Who's our favorite from three and four? Good question.

Starting point is 00:14:14 Because I, okay, so she didn't have a lot to do in episode four, more so episode three. But Nami being, again, we don't know where, what, what, what she has up her sleeve. Exactly. But to befriend Kaya when she was, you know, she, Kaya caught her essentially. And then kind of shedding her,

Starting point is 00:14:36 her walls and being like, hey, I can't trust anybody. And Kaya kind of giving her kind of this hope. I think I like that. Her art, which is really cool. That's,

Starting point is 00:14:46 I like that. Yeah. She's like coming around to like trusting more because she seems very cold from the beginning of the season or the series. so Nami's like I'm leaning towards that but again she didn't have a lot to do I mean she kind of save she she she initiating initiated saving the day for episode four right she was hiding knocks out the one of the black cat pirates and then convinces Kaya that hey you know Usopp's not lying right so right we didn't talk about that enough I feel like we got to give that a little more credit only because you're right we were kind of miss, maybe misjudging Nami because we still don't know what the little pirate thing is

Starting point is 00:15:29 and what is like up her sleeve but then she comes through and she's like, thank God you're still alive. He does knock that lady out and she saves her and she helps Usup save Kaya and she comes through for Kaya as a friend. Kaya is like Kaya teaches her how to be sort of like a normal human being

Starting point is 00:15:48 in that conversation. Yes, yes, yes. Because Kaya made fun of her. She's like, you're not used to this friendship. Yeah, that's true. That's true, yeah. Which we kind of forgot about that because I think that was episode three. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:15:59 But I think you're absolutely right. So now it's like she's moving up the ladder. Definitely. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. In being part of the crew and someone that we trust. Yeah, warming up for sure. Yeah. Okay, I like that.

Starting point is 00:16:14 And I mean, obviously, you know, Luffy and Zorro, we're glad that we got to see, you know, the call back to Zorro. Yes. still unsure about CUNY if she is dead and that's why I has her sword. Right. What accident was it? Yeah. I do think she's dead, but then you're right. He just said she's gone.

Starting point is 00:16:33 Right. And that could mean she's not dead. And we don't know where she is. And you guys may be throwing in the comments right now that you're like, don't you remember the blonde girl from three episodes ago. Right, right, right. If you know me and you've been watching the channel for a while, I don't remember what happened five minutes.

Starting point is 00:16:56 So I was thinking, and I still don't know yet. So maybe we will run into her. Maybe she is still alive. That'll be fun. That would be cool. What is like your thing? You're looking forward to the most that you think could pop up here. I guess in the next episode or what are you looking forward to?

Starting point is 00:17:12 We'll end there. I definitely want to know his, Luffy's relationship with his grandpa. Again, that's so, that was the weirdest, like, cliffhanger. What the fudge? What? Yeah. Like, didn't we run into him? Yeah, I thought.

Starting point is 00:17:26 On the boat. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. With Nami. Right? Did we? Yeah. Or was Nami was somebody else? Or was that the arm axe guy or the axe hand guy or whatever.

Starting point is 00:17:36 Oh, that was the axe hand guy. Yeah. So, yeah, I don't know if they ever crossed past if they did. You're right. But yeah, grandpa, that's strange. We got to get to grandpa. Yeah. Are you kidding?

Starting point is 00:17:48 Because now the reason why I'm also kind of curious about it is that, okay, he may be our big bad or that's how he's being written. Yeah. But what if there is some sort of like... Good reasoning. Yeah. Or like he's not as bad as we think, right? Because he's taking Kobe under his wing in such a paternal way. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:18:08 Which is kind of sweet and kind of cool. But also that's what a lot of manipulative villains do. Totally. So, and then, yeah, how it does... Is there some sort of... resolution where he's not the biggest bad, right? Like, the pirates are, the pirates that we've encountered before. Right.

Starting point is 00:18:23 Those are the big bads. And, you know, we, maybe I'm just, I'm predicting too far in the future. But what if, because there is a familial kind of connection, this captain guy, what's his name? Grandpa. We'll call him Grandpa. Yeah. So Grandpa, we'll call it Grandpa.

Starting point is 00:18:39 What if Grandpa kind of turns and sacrifices himself? I can, I can see that writing going there where, again, we kind of don't like. We don't like him. We don't like him. And then he kind of turns and, you know, we like. Like sacrifices himself for his grandson. Yeah. Yeah. Or something like that.

Starting point is 00:18:55 Something along those lines. That would be interesting. So that's what I'm looking for. How about you? What are you? I don't know, man. I mean, right now grandpa's strong cannons. Yeah, I know.

Starting point is 00:19:03 So, you know, like, I'm looking at what he's saying. I'm like, but grandpa's, he's spitting out some cannons right now. So I don't know. Yeah. I don't know. That's true. That's true. So I hope that we're able to save the ship because it's brand freaking new.
