Starting point is 00:00:00 When West Jet first took flight in 1996, the vibes were a bit different. People thought denim on denim was peak fashion, inline skates were everywhere, and two out of three women rocked, the Rachel. While those things stayed in the 90s, one thing that hasn't is that fuzzy feeling you get when WestJet welcomes you on board. Here's to WestJetting since 96. Travel back in time with us and actually travel with us at westjet.com slash 30 years. One plus equals more of the greatest stories.
Starting point is 00:00:28 The Hulu on Disney Plus. Stories about survivors. The most dangerous planet. Family. Retribution. Murder. Prophecy. Beer and propane. Why we do it? Blake Pantha.
Starting point is 00:00:41 The final are boots. The ultimate soldier. Chicago, all right? The best of the best stories now with even more from Hulu. Amazing. Have it all with 3-1 Disney Plus. We're going to do one piece. Episodes 4 and 5 from season so.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Yeah. I'm good. you, John. I'm doing well. I'm excited to continue this and let's find out what's going to happen. I know, right? We're just going to click start because like that's the moot I'm in. Let's do it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:21 So, leave us a five-star comment. If you're listening to us on Apple or Spotify, please, if you're on YouTube, like, comment, subscribe when you do ring the bell. Starting point is 00:01:37 doing. Keeps the lights on. Keeps us here. I'm on. Greg and John offer exclusive highlights. You get 15% off all rejectionation shop.com gear. You get a full week in advance of the schedule. You get to send us questions unless it's an early bird show like this. So, John, tell me what you're thinking about these episodes. Four and five.
Starting point is 00:01:54 Four and five being, like, it seems like a companion episode, right? Like, um, I, yeah, I, uh, it seems like five seemed kind of rushed, in my opinion, but still fun. I liked, it was a lot, a lot of heartwarming kind of sense. sentiments with the giants and a lot of advice from them, wisdom and so on and so forth, where we got to see Usopp kind of like play kind of the hero of the story, which is really cool. And yeah, it's, it's, it still has this like one piece whimsy, which is still cool. I felt like a lot of the, the fight scenes were edited really intensely, especially the last one. I'm trying to remember what happened in episode four.
Starting point is 00:02:38 That's when we got to island, right? Yes. Okay. So we get on the, we get to Little Garden. We meet the. We see the dinosaurs. Which was awesome. That was probably the highlight.
Starting point is 00:02:52 And then we find out the Baroque's are like all there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then, yeah, Usopp's inspiration. He gets it from the giants. Right, right, right. And then we ended on the, What do we end on with... Them getting captured, right?
Starting point is 00:03:12 Or... Mr. It says... Uh... It was Nami. It was... No, no. We just ended Nami on this... Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was them being... They're trapped or whatever.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Yes. They were in the wax, right? Right, yes. That's what that was. Gotcha. No, yeah, I enjoy... I'm enjoying the episodes for sure. The biggest highlight for one of the...
Starting point is 00:03:38 biggest highlights are the dinosaurs, but we don't get to see a lot of them, unfortunately. Right. But yeah, it's, I, the, I like to see where, where we're getting to highlight other characters. Like, Sanji got to be a little bit of a hero. We got to see Usopp obviously kind of saved the day for the most of the part. Um, our, our strongest physical kind of heroes being, um, Luffy and, and Zorro, um, they had to take a backseat, kind of, not really. I mean, they were stuck in their own kind of, kind of.
Starting point is 00:04:08 traps or whatever. Yeah. That, that, all the villains are like, really leaning in, which is like, kind of fun to watch.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Yeah. Um, a little borderline on the cheesy side, but again, it's part of the, part of the charm of that, uh, the show.
Starting point is 00:04:23 Um, but yeah, I'm still enjoying myself. I'm just now concerned by the end of episode five, what the hell happened to Nami? Like, I'm like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:31 I don't remember seeing anything on the island other than the wax thing. So that's concerning, but still, that I'm just hungry for more. So yeah, how about you? Yeah. How do you feel? Um, I wish we had more dinosaurs.
Starting point is 00:04:45 The dinosaurs are my favorite part. Absolutely. That was so much fun. I'm sad. They killed the T-Rex. I want to, I always want T-Rex to live. But that's okay.
Starting point is 00:04:53 That was a lot of fun. Um, it was cool. I mean, that dolly girl who does the paint thing. Yeah. Whatever the frick her name was, Miss,
Starting point is 00:05:00 I forget her name. Yeah. She was Wackdo Wild. For real. I like that she could paint different emotions. And obviously, she loses her mind when he, when Usopp flips the paint back on her or whatever,
Starting point is 00:05:12 which I thought was cool. But the way that they can manipulate our straw hats with just the paint was, was cool to watch. And then the wax thing was interesting because we kept thinking like, well, how are they actually going to get through it? So it does move your brain a little bit to go, okay, well, if their wax is hard to seal,
Starting point is 00:05:31 like it wax melts, okay? We can break it once it hardens. And then they did do that, which was that was fun yeah um i didn't see them i i didn't see them using the villain's powers against like for them meaning they were using the powers like of the villain of the punch to crack the wax right which is smart uh i didn't see that coming that was fun um i'm really glad buger guy died tank oh my god i needed him to be not here yeah that was disgusting i really needed that.
Starting point is 00:06:08 Yeah, yeah. But how he went was pretty cool, right? Zorro with his swords on fire? That was dope. That was awesome. That was one of the coolest things. Definitely. Yeah, with him being on fire and all that.
Starting point is 00:06:20 That was really cool to see. And let's see. What else? Yeah, I mean, I like Sanji, him fighting 13 and the other thing, Mr. 13 and whatever. That was a lot of fun. And golden weeks of them.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Yeah, whatever that was. I like that we did split up the straw hats. It was nice to give us different plot points, meaning Sanji's off on his own, Usopp is off on his own, Usopp finds a lot of, you know, inspiration from the giants. That changes him from just a storyteller to a true fighter, even though he's not as strong. Right, right. As the rest of the straw hats, right? But it did make him believe in himself, I think, a little bit more, which was cool.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Yeah. And, oh, man, that giant goldfish, that day, high or whatever. That was wild. That was crazy. Yeah. The stuff they think up in this show or that they have in the comics is really awesome. Yeah. Very weird, really cool.
Starting point is 00:07:22 Fantasticical and crazy. Yeah. And I liked the callback. Nami was like, once you see, I told you once you see it, you see it. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Which is a nice callback to when, two episodes go, whatever. She first told the princess, like, you don't get Luffy yet, but you will.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Right, right, right. So that's fun. Yeah, I'm mainly just worried about Nami. Like, what happened to her? Did they poison her or? I don't know, man. Yeah. That's hard.
Starting point is 00:07:50 That's weird because she is our, our strongest navigator. She's also, like, the anchor of the ship. She is. She's our, like, she's our captain. Yeah, for real. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that is scary. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:07 And I do like that we're headed towards alabasta for the princess. How do you feel like are you now a little more sympathetic of her now that we're seeing her not be so like villainous? Yeah. I think like we could have had we had more time with her. And so I think like it even if we had more time and maybe a little bit more of a foundation, it would have made. a little bit more when she goes, Our friend. And now he looks at her, right?
Starting point is 00:08:39 Yeah. Sure. That's the melodramatic, a little bit of corny kicking in, but because of the way the show's written how the characters are, we know that it's genuine. So when we watch it,
Starting point is 00:08:50 we still feel something like, oh, that's cute. We just aren't going to feel as strongly as if it were to happen because we really, really had more time with her. True. That's a good point. But I like that. So I trust her more.
Starting point is 00:09:02 She trusts her more. trust Luffy. She came through. She fought with Nami for the rest of them. That's true. She starts to see them as a crew. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, as like, she gets it now. Right. Yeah, what do you think? I still, I still kind of don't, like, again, maybe, like you said, it's, it wasn't written in a way where the investment is there yet. I have yet to see me feeling like, okay, I, and I still, it seems like I trust her now. but like it's not as heavy as the other characters, right? It seems as if season one, we spent like an episode or two to really invest in the crew. I don't know if she becomes part of the crew permanently.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Right, me neither. I mean, the crew we already have now is a handful of characters are all amazing. But yeah, I don't know how I feel about Princess Vivi. Like it's like, yeah, I think heartbreaking. You're not as attached to her. Exactly. I can feel it from me. You're like, eh-uh.
Starting point is 00:10:02 Like, I'm like, kind of. It seems like the show is forcing me to care when I kind of don't. Like, not too much. I hope she's safe and whatever. But yeah. I mean, they're taking her home. So I don't know. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:15 We might not be spending that much time with her. It's true. Yes, yes. Because then we'll probably have to move on because we got that alligator guy. Yes, yes. And the flower lady. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's true.
Starting point is 00:10:28 She's Miss Sunday or something. I forget what her name is. I'm not going to be great with all the names. You guys know this. But I'm excited to see what Mr. Alligator is doing, Mr. Zero. And then how he works alongside Flower Woman. Yeah. We'll have to see.
Starting point is 00:10:47 I don't really have any, like, guesses on how that's going to work. I just think it's going to be really cool looking. Right. Yeah, I'm also trying to figure out why does Mr. Zero want? the straw hats like what is his motivation again did they didn't reveal that yet right like why they the broke agents really want because when sandi was opening up the folders i didn't see like oh yeah yeah i know like real reason or something exactly i mean it was so quick it's not like it would have reason in there but i don't think he said it on the phone either he just was like
Starting point is 00:11:21 confirmed that straw huts are dead yeah yeah so we don't know yet yeah that's a big mystery too yeah i've looked forward to it though yeah man i mean we've had it This is such a fun show. We love it. We love you guys joining us. Obviously leave all the comments. Get the algorithm up. Join Patreon if you haven't.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Yes, please. Be nice, cool kind in the comments. See you on the next one.
