Okay.
John, how you feeling?
I am in love with Chopper.
I know.
Best edition.
I thought, I didn't want it to be like a Laboon situation where we don't see,
we only see them from one episode or whatever.
But yeah, I like these episodes mainly because it seems like the stakes are high, right?
it seems as if it's a really different tone
than all the other episodes
where it's kind of like very,
very lighthearted.
And yes, there are stakes and there's action
and there's humor.
This was a little more serious,
which I can appreciate.
But otherwise, yeah,
that being the case,
Chopper's story is so heartbreaking.
And it, it, it, it,
there's CGI and I,
I'm assuming he's a very cute character in the manga.
But yeah, that being the case.
Yeah, these episodes are cool to save Nami.
It seems like Nami is okay now.
But yeah, to go on the journey to understand chopper's situation and story.
And also, Curia.
Katie Siegel comes out of nowhere.
Yeah, cool.
Dope cameo, I guess.
But otherwise, yeah, really, really.
heart-breaking story.
Very, again, very different for the previous episodes,
which I appreciate because, again, there's some,
it makes the levity more valuable
when we have episodes like this.
And so I'm looking forward to chopper,
I hope chopper joins the crew.
I'm not, I'm assuming it's alluding to that.
So I don't know, maybe.
But how did you feel about these two?
Yeah, I loved it.
It was definitely a lot more emotional than I was,
prepared for
I definitely
was like this is
gonna make me cry
like that was very like
heart wrenching
to see the relationship
between Here Luck
and Chopper
it was really really sweet
and I you guys already know
I just have a thing
when it comes to like animals
like you can't be doing that
so it was just
it was such a sweet
and really well written story
to be able to get us to feel so much
and then to add in the line at the end
where Heriluk is like,
don't hurt him, he's my son.
I was like, I can't.
Because, you know, Chopper just didn't have anybody.
Chopper's like such a fun, adorable character.
And I just, I love, you know, their relationship a lot.
Yeah.
And I, okay, and here's the other thing.
On the flag, we know we brought up cherry blossoms.
Yes.
The flag in Herilux place was always there even before Chapper.
Yes.
And if we look at his flag, though, it's skulls and bones.
And I thought in the background, I was like, is it cherry blossoms?
There's a heart.
And it looks like reindeer prints.
But like it's also reindeer prints on Katie Siegel's.
like thinking that now she's friends with Chopper.
Mm-hmm.
So I like that kind of tie-in.
Yes.
I love that.
That's cool.
I do like how they made Katie Segal's character a little bit diabolical.
Yeah.
Where she is like sort of mean and like rude, but also is the smart doctor.
She still is there to help even though she's not the kindest, right?
which I think obviously is what Chopper brings at the table when he is there with Korea, right?
He's got the big heart.
She's got the brains in a way.
So she can come together and make a good combo.
Absolutely.
So, yeah, yeah, I just, I wasn't expecting this.
I really was like, I thought that like we were just like Nami looked ill as hell.
Yeah, yeah.
She looks like on her deathbed.
I thought we were headed where princess, the princess of Alabasta was going to be like,
I'm going to do well in this city, right, in the drum city that we're at.
Yeah.
But like we got a little bit.
She gives the glove to the kid at the end.
Like I thought that's where this was going.
Right, right, right.
I just didn't expect what happened to us.
And I do, I do appreciate it, though.
It was very emotional and really sweet.
And I love chopper.
I do.
I love it.
And I'm not sure, like, we don't, sorry, we don't know what powers King Waple got from the devil fruit.
Do we?
Not yet.
Yeah.
Yeah, we don't know.
So I guess we'll see that eventually and when that'll come up.
I'm not sure, like, I'm not sure what's going to happen between Princess Alabasta is what I'm going to keep calling her.
And King Wople.
It was like, how is that going to.
Do you know what I mean?
Yes.
How is that going to come to an end along with the guy, the good one, who used to work for Wobble.
Oh, Dalton?
Dalton.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I really.
Ah, I keep on it.
Sorry.
You're good?
I really am.
I don't think that's what I was going to say.
Right when this episode ended, I don't think Dalton's dead.
I think they shot him three times, but there has to be a way that the doctor's juice that was.
like actually look like cherry blossoms
and big stuff has to come back.
I'm surprised they didn't
add that into the
IV coloring
that Nami
got. Yes, yes. I was going to
be like, oh, it's pink.
It's part of the stuff that here look.
Right, yes, yes, yes.
But that's okay. I'm assuming
it'll come back. Maybe it'll
come back for Dalton, who knows?
They're obviously going to take him back
to where the king is. I'm surprised those two
characters who were near the king are still around
and that they weren't
like dead but yeah we'll see
what are you thinking for like
the last of like the
yeah the finale for this season
it seems as if yeah
Vivie Princess
of Alabasta and
Waple
they're gonna
yeah there's going to be a confrontation
there it seemed like the beginning
of episode 5
set that up right like
Yeah.
And so, and then, and Luffy is probably going head to head with, um, what's his name?
Mr.
whatever, like the, the main bad guy who controls all the, oh my gosh, Baroque works.
No, the alligator guy.
Yes, alligator guy.
Yes.
Yes.
And so.
The other, the lady who we just saw works for him.
Yes, exactly.
And so I think that's going to go, they're all going to go head to head with that one.
Yeah.
And it seems like everything's coming down towards.
Drum Island.
Then that's where the showdown is going to happen.
Where we get,
uh,
otherwise I,
somehow,
some way chopper kind of helps with that journey,
that story helps them.
Um,
I really don't want Katie Siegel's character to,
to go away.
It seems like she's being set up for like,
a sacrifice or something.
Like she's coldhearted,
cold hard and cold hard and then has some sort of,
maybe I'm pretty,
that's not,
I don't want to be,
you know,
too cynical about it,
but like,
might be predictable writing that like,
like,
like,
But, um, yeah, I, I look forward to how it's all going to come to a close because Baroque
works is the main like bad where we and like yeah, we got Captain Smoke or whatever his name is.
Yeah.
That little thing. Oh yeah.
That's true.
We're trying to find out what the Baroque works that he captured were looking for.
And that was never revealed yet.
Yeah, we don't know that yet.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I kind of forgot about that.
That was a small little plot point.
Yes.
Yeah.
So I'm hoping to figure that out as well.
How about you?
What are your any predictions?
You know what I wish would have happened with Hearlook?
Because I saw him take the things and I was like, okay, I assume that this is like suicide mission, but also part of a revenge mission, possibly.
What I really want is that I wanted him to plant cherry blossom leaves into the bombs.
Cool.
Because he said when he was looking at it, you know, and it looked like cherry blossom was so happy.
I'm like, he has to be the robber.
That would have been real poetic.
Yes.
But it would be like,
and it does blow up, but like somehow cherry blossoms come out of it.
That would be pretty sick.
Yeah.
Yes.
I just take that note, writers, okay?
Anyway, I just would have loved to see that.
I would have loved for that to come back.
But I assume that the cherry blossoms are going, possibly will come back anyway.
Right.
I do hope that Katie Siegel, you know, sticks around.
I'm not sure what we're going to go back to in regards to.
Smoker, I guess we'll see, Baroque Works is really going to have to,
that's all going to have to come together unless, you know,
season three still keeps us sort of on a hookline and sinker for the Mr. Alligator to come through
for Baroque Works and how are we, how does that all come together along with Luffy and the
King of the Pirates, we'll have to see.
Makes sense.
Yeah, but I still, I really loved it.
Still thought I was a lot of fun except these,
this last was like way more emotional.
Yeah.
I didn't expect that at all.
I was like, oh, man, this is like, oh, that's tough.
But yeah, yeah, I'm excited for the next one.
Do you have any other other thoughts?
Anything else you want to tell the peeps?
Yeah, I'm looking forward to the big reveal of who the alligator dude is, Mr.
Whatever.
Yeah.
The reason.
I've seen him, yeah.
Because I have a, I kind of, um,
heard before, you know, before even joining the channel and all that stuff.
Yeah.
The Comic-Con reveal of who is going to be this person.
Okay.
It's a big, I'm not going to spoil it because now that I know, because I'm watching it
with you guys.
Right.
Apparently, it's a very decently famous actor.
Okay.
Not extreme, like, it's not like Leonardo DiCaprio.
It's not like that, right?
Right, right.
But he's well known.
Yes, exactly.
And I'm looking forward to that reveal.
I was looking forward to Tony,
Tony Chopper's reveal,
which I saw at a Comic-Con kind of like trailer thing.
And again,
I didn't know about one piece.
I was like,
oh, cool,
cute little character,
whatever.
Now it all kind of cons the context.
Now it's coming together.
Yeah,
yeah.
So otherwise,
yeah,
I'm looking forward to that reveal
because, again,
we still haven't seen them.
It's going to be the last episode of the season
next episode eight.
So yeah,
that's what I'm looking forward to.
How about you?
Let me start with something honest.
I'm not the most hardcore sports person in the world.
believe it or not. But I am hardcore about my love for my wife. She's the reason I even discovered
Fantasy Sports. She and her friends play together. And I wanted a way to join in without needing
know every stat sheet in existence. That is actually how I discovered Price Picks. Price Picks is a
daily fantasy sports app where you build lineups by picking more or less on player stat projections.
You pick two to six players and if your picks are right, you have the opportunity to cash in.
It's basically fantasy sports built around player stats instead of drafts.
entire teams. So it feels way easier to jump onto, especially for someone like myself. You can pick
from tons of sports, basketball, baseball, hockey, UFC, golf, tennis, e-sports, and more, whatever those
more are. They have great features like the early payouts, the stacks, and flex play. Price
Picks, they operate in all 50 states, and that includes California, and withdrawals are fast and secure.
So, Rejects, you can download the Price Picks app today and use code Rejects to get $50 in line up after
you play your first $5 lineup.
That's code rejects to get $50 in lineups
after you play your first $5 lineup.
Price Fix.
It's good to be right.
Yeah, I just, I want to,
I would love to see more of,
more of trapper.
Yes.
I want to see how, um,
they all get that town turned around.
Yeah.
Really am thinking like Princess Alabaster could bring a lot to that.
What if she just stays there and helps Dalton?
Maybe the pirates do too.
but this show moves quick.
Like every episode
we kind of introduce
like new characters
and we fight them
or keep them
or but Katie Siegel
and Chopper
we've kept which is great.
Yeah.
You know,
we lost which is sad
but I'm just excited
to see what else
they throw at us
because they definitely do that
every episode.
And I will say
that these last two episodes
or especially the
Herluck storyline
with Chopper
and Kirol
or whatever her name is,
I think it's
some of the best writing that I've seen in one piece.
Yeah, I agree.
So I do appreciate that, how, like, emotional and grounded it was,
but also they still cut the fun parts in it.
Absolutely.
I would like to see more of that.
Little John, tell me how you're feeling what you're thinking.
I'm trying to, I'm gathering all my thoughts and feelings about season two
relative to season one right now.
Yes.
But primarily this episode is just a ton of fun because there was a lot of
lot of action and like the tying of loose ends and ending storylines and seeing waple die which
was kind of satisfying um because he was so annoying um a annoying character but i bet he was a you know
good written villain like that that that um mustache twirling villain um but yeah i i enjoy the
episode because there was a lot of the action sequences were pretty dope um that the war
fighting the monsters.
Very cool practical
costume design, which is awesome.
I like
Sanji and Nami getting closer.
That was really cool.
And it seems like
that character moment, that very quiet
character moment of Sanji talking about his mom,
that was really like
a good
revealing of his character
and more layers, which I appreciated.
Mainly because he's a cool
character. Also,
it did a breaking move to fight.
That was...
He just won my heart.
Other than the cooking, which is already impressive.
But otherwise, yeah.
I liked this episode.
It was really entertaining.
It did move really fast.
Not in a bad way.
Right.
It was well-paced.
It's just...
Like, what did you want more of?
It feels as if...
Okay, so that Sangey moment, that character moment.
Yes.
I want more of those little, like, deep...
character moments that would offset a lot of the action.
Yeah.
Maybe we just had to run through it and like go get to the finale of it all and get chopper
on the on the on the on the on the on the on the on the straw hats.
But otherwise yeah, more of that would have been appreciated but it's it's not like it's
not an extreme gripe or criticism.
I guess that was and it kind of felt like it.
The Baroque works were the big bad.
Yeah.
They didn't.
I guess that's the next season.
That must be.
Yeah.
And then.
They didn't really come.
They just popped in, but didn't really do much.
Because the season started with showing them, right?
We met all those guys, right?
We did.
But yeah, for it to set up season three, which is cool, but I thought we'd be.
Yeah, so that extends the story, which is awesome.
But otherwise, yeah, it was fun and entertaining.
The cute moments with Chopper is probably the highlight that, like, mainly because,
I can't think, he's adorable and cool.
Yeah.
But yeah, otherwise, what did you think overall in terms of the episode and like, I guess, the past few episodes?
Yeah, I mean, I liked it.
I like that, here's the thing.
When Chopper, when they first go in and they start saving Nami, it's fun that Chopper gets like big.
And then him and Sanji get to fight together.
That was a lot of fun.
Right.
I thought maybe we would see more of that.
But we had to cut back and forth a lot between what's happening in the town and what's happening in that room.
Yeah.
Which I didn't mind.
but sometimes it pulled me out of it a little bit because I was like, wait, are we going to be
able to finish this and actually see Chopper and Sanji win?
For some reason, like normally the cutting back and forth, I would be like really excited
by, but it didn't get like, I liked the pacing of it and I did still really like the cutting
back and forth, but there's something about it.
I don't know what it was that I was like,
wait,
I wanted to finish that part.
Oh,
yeah,
yeah,
versus sometimes when I see cutting back and forth,
I'm like,
hell yeah,
the cutting back forth is great.
There might have been a little,
a little,
I don't know,
maybe some editing cuts
that maybe just didn't hit me
as hard as I thought that would.
But I love that chopper is on the team.
Yeah.
He's my freaking favorite.
Hell yeah.
So much fun.
I'm really glad that Princess is now more
attached to all of us.
Yes.
I like that she went up to help.
I like that we did get a little bit more from Usopp, except he still does always get
saved and he always does.
But that is the game.
And that's the way he's written.
So I still really enjoy it.
So I didn't mind that he didn't like super come through.
I thought it was really intriguing that Wapel can eat his whatever and then spit out those weird
demons.
And they did a great job on practical effects and makeup with the weird army.
Right.
Like that was, that was a lot of fun.
I guess Dr. Curia or whatever her name is, she came in savvy.
Yes.
Right?
Like that was hurtful, what she said to Chopper.
Yeah.
But I did like that she leaves the bag for Chopper.
So it's like, yeah, it's a hard exterior.
She's not as cruel as her words.
Yeah.
She's just probably didn't want to be alone.
And without Chopper.
You know, Trapper was her assistant.
So, like, we get it.
But, yeah, that was hard to hear.
But I really want Dalton to become king.
It seems like, yeah, that was gearing towards it, but there was no, like.
There was no, like, thing that really, like, initiation of it all.
Yeah, yeah.
Right, that, like, planted it down.
Just in case, I think they're going to edit our, they can edit this out.
But, okay, 106.
I think they're going to edit our six and seven reaction and put it together with this eight one.
But just in case they don't.
Okay.
So we're going to go through six real quick.
So we had, it was Nami Dearest.
So she gets ill.
They save her.
We find the witch doctor.
Luffy and Sanji attempt to carry.
Right.
Nami up there.
Yeah.
We went through that whole thing where we commented where we're like, he could just reach up the thing.
Yeah.
But that was.
it's fun to find we king wopple we hate him and he continues to be like hated and then finally we
get to kill him which is great yes um uh oh yeah and when he i didn't assume that when he ate the
munch munch the devil fruit that he would be able to eat anything including people yeah that's crazy
that's wild right yeah i that's a i mean if you had a devil fruit what would you want oh no oh man
That's like asking like, you know, what kind of...
That's all the top one, right?
Is superhero power or super power?
I know like, because I'm like, he gets just like, it was weird.
He ate that thing and then he gets, he turns into a weapon and I'm like, oh, I don't know.
Cool, but also, uh.
Yeah, like, it's practical for only fighting.
It seems like, like, Luffy can have his, his powers be practical in everyday use to a certain degree.
Exactly.
I'm trying to think.
Well, you think on it.
Yeah.
But what did you think about that, that munch, munch fruit, whatever, like with wapple?
That was, yeah.
That was, yeah, I guess, because he, I guess there was, um, there was a reference of him eating a lot.
Remember, he was the flashback.
He eats a lot.
He's not in good shape or whatever.
And so it just suggests his character.
Yeah.
And eating would become a weapon, um, which is very on the nose.
but because again the show,
I'll use the word again,
operatic and big and like fantastical
makes sense why it was very on the nose
and yeah, it's cool.
And the,
the CGI was pretty dope with it all.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean,
in regards to Waple himself,
he, again, he's this one dimensional character
which is not a bad thing.
Yeah.
Serves a purpose,
kind of a coward.
And then when he gets his power,
he's he's a little too cocky.
But yeah,
interesting take on on eating
and then turning it into something.
Yeah, right.
And then yeah, you can eat people,
but they stay alive.
Yes.
And then transform, I guess.
So which is interesting.
So yeah.
And like episode seven obviously broke me in so many ways.
Yeah, the doctor episode.
That was the saddest,
as freaking episode.
Yeah.
I was like close to tears.
And then I got mad.
about that I wanted him to blow up the bomb.
Yes.
And I wanted the bomb to let off cherry blossoms.
And I was like upset.
But then we got to pay off episode eight.
Yes.
Yes.
Absolutely.
Because I was like,
there's no way that the writers would leave that big of a like callback.
So I'm really glad we got that at the end.
And it was gorgeous in the way that it was displayed over the,
the drum that it actually looked like a cherry blossom.
That's true.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
And that was awesome.
And I kind of like that Chopper was like crying so hard because I'm like, dude, I get it.
Chopper just lost Dr. Heerluck.
Yeah.
And then Dr. Kura or whatever, however you say, her name was like saying all these mean things.
But then she gives him the bag.
And that's his way of like kind of letting that go.
And like he's like saved.
She did this great thing for him.
And he's like finding a new home.
And it's all like emotional.
Yeah, definitely.
Yeah.
Everything around Chopper, whether it be episode seven, which is kind of very centric.
him and the doctor.
Yeah.
Um,
that was that,
again,
very intense episode because it was emotional and like,
and working through a lot of the issues and with Dr.
Haraluck like,
um,
being a pirate and,
and,
and,
and he was,
he was the pirate that saw the cherry blossoms and healed him and then.
Right.
And like he had that,
that,
that,
that,
that,
that,
that,
that,
that,
that,
go find the mushroom.
Yeah.
And like it was going to kill me anyways.
Right.
And he tricked like Chopper to get it.
And then he like,
Chopper kind of went to go grab the mushroom himself.
Yeah.
And then he goes on his like on,
to go to the kingdom and whatnot.
But yeah,
it was just,
that was a heavy.
So contrasting eight and seven.
Yeah.
It was so emotionally heavy that I guess they needed all the action and all the
craziness.
to balance it out.
To balance it.
Yeah, it made sense.
And what a way to do so.
But yeah, seven, ironically, same here was,
maybe was my favorite episode of the season,
just because it was that deep dive of emotional kind of complexity.
I'm with you.
You know, and like I always say, guys,
like I always want more heart in TV shows,
even if it's like action, adventure,
anything that when you bring the heart in it,
it truly matters.
Yeah.
And, you know, obviously that's why every Pixar movie does very very well, right?
They know how to do that in like the first 10 minutes and then continue with a very heartfelt, funny, joy-loving, wondrous film.
But point being is they do that here as well.
And then the, you know, the bounce, at least we got a little bit of Sanji, you know, telling us more about, you know, his mom dying.
And that's how he became a really good cook.
Yeah.
And I really like that emotional point.
and I hope that we get more of that in season three,
that we get to really deep dive into the characters,
their backgrounds,
and what makes them feel less superhero-like, more humans.
Yes, absolutely, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That they have, you know,
a deep, dark childhood stuff that's happened to them
like every human has,
so that we're not constantly looking at them
like the all-powerful
because they all are very, very strong.
Yeah, yeah, true.
And that makes him feel, it makes us relate to them more.
And I think that's why we like when the heart comes in a lot.
But then obviously, if we get that heart and then we get to see them kick some
frickin ass with these practical effects and the way that they show the fighting, I mean, that's why I think this show is taken off.
Absolutely.
Like, was like, what?
Yeah, yeah.
I did not expect that we're going practical.
We're going practical fighting.
Yes, there's CGI aspect.
but they do it right and we're using
these people are doing stunts.
It's not like CGI where we're throwing him
you know around.
They're like doing doing wirework and that's what makes
the show amazing and I can't wait for more.
Definitely. Yeah, yeah.
And I think both of us are both looking for
the like reuniting with Laboon.
Because that you can't just throw that away.
Like come on at least another episode in season three with Laboon.
Yep.
And also we were also talking about
Sanji and Nami.
There's something there.
There is.
There's got to be, right?
Like I don't know if they're going to explore it.
I don't know in the manga if they really get into that.
I don't know.
Yeah, we don't know.
It's written that way.
It looks like it's, we're getting the vibe.
So we'll have to see in season three,
but I do know that's a tricky thing in writing.
And I think the best show that wrote a love story and took their time,
which is what, once you finish and you,
kind of complete the love story,
it loses interest, right?
Because you're like, well, now where do we go
with them now that they're together?
How do we actually play with that
versus keeping people on like lingering and wondering?
Sure.
Is the office did that really well.
Oh, nice.
Yeah.
They did it for eight seasons or something.
And then finally, yes.
And that's why people say it's the greatest love story
like written in TV.
Yeah, yeah.
It's because they really took their time.
Dragged it out.
Yes.
And so I'm wondering if season three will do that.
And maybe they're just giving us little, little bites of it.
Right, right, right, right.
Do you have anything that you're thinking like you want to see from season three?
I just want to see for me, I just want to see more chopper.
I can't wait to see you where chopper goes.
I love chopper so much.
Yeah.
I'm very just excited about that character, like so excited.
What about you?
Chopper for sure.
I'll be on the same page with that, definitely, just because he's adorable, but also a very well-written character.
like he's got so much like baggage that he's dealing with and with his own personal self-esteem
and being like hiding from everyone very like childlike but also he he's carrying that love and
like complicated relationship with the doctor and then you know obviously um uh whatever he
whatever his goals are yeah i want to see that kind of come to fruition totally um season three
i'm looking forward to the baroque works because it seems as if we set that up really well this
season and we didn't get to see them really again there's we now know who mr zero is right
played by jo mangyanello i i don't know if i'm pronouncing that name correctly but and then
this robin character who is miss sunday or whatever yeah um it seems like there's something
under the like under all all that like yeah under the anger and like villainous there's something
complicated so she might my guess is she might turn good i don't know
just because she might betray Mr. Zero.
I don't know.
But all of that to say that I'm looking for it's a Baroque Works.
It seems like they're leading towards that and then going to Alabasta.
So who knows?
I like that.
Yeah.
Who freaking knows, man.
I can't wait to see more of the alligator stuff.
Obviously, Baroque Works.
I want to see what we do with that.
We love you guys and joining us.
Make sure you're cool kind in the comments.

Yeah.
And we will see you on the next one.
