More on them in just a bit. Tara, let's, come on, stall me, stall me. I said we don't have to get scared right now. What do you guys say? You got nothing, you got nothing, do you? Yeah, okay. Paranormal activity for comments. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:01:29 These movies are insane. Yeah. Not enough jump scares, though. I still thought the third one was more relentless than this, but this was still freaking scary. Yeah. The third one was way more, not way more relentless, but a lot more relentless. With the jump scares. I agree with that.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Way too many jump scares for my, just well-being in general. My well-being is also effed. Is this the Paramount's logo? Yeah, but let's wait. Let's see if they do some weird stuff with it. Noise. Stop with that noise. Okay, we're still not there yet.
Starting point is 00:02:18 I will say one thing I did appreciate about this film. No deleting of the cat. Thank you so much. Thank you. I was worried about that. I'm so glad the cat was not her. I was a more show movie about it. Yeah. I do like, though, I do like that.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Again, I just think all these movies just do such a good job, expanding the lore. And it's, like, one thing I really appreciate. And also, too, I really like in this one, Tara, like, because the first two take place in 2006, very, like, the first five or six minutes or so, if the third one takes place in 2006, just a quick, you know, recap. and all that, but that film takes place in the year of Koi and Mai's birth of 1988, but this film takes place in 2011. Right, seven years later. Yeah, so, but I think the point I'm trying to make is, I like
Starting point is 00:03:08 how, like, each film is, like, technology-based, like, you know, like you have the restrictions of the third film with, now we got the oscillator, and then this one, now you get the laptop, and the connect thing, so it's like, each film is using the time of, uh, of what every year it is, to use that to an
Starting point is 00:03:24 advantage or a disadvantage, but I mean, uh, usually it's, uh, It adds, like, a level of, um, resources for the character. And, like, I think that's an interesting staple that they add each film. I like it. You mean, like, you mean just adding to it, like, that's why the, the coven was larger and stuff like that and us knowing that the kid was going to be five or six. Well, no, not even that. I just, I just like, like, uh, how when whatever year it's, it's based in, like, they're using technology to, to an advantage.
Starting point is 00:03:52 So, like, again, with in 1988. Oh, technology. Sorry. Yeah. I think I blank. I think I blacked out when we were talking. You're all good. You're all good. I just, I like how they, they use that as a staple and a resource for the characters of the time. So in 88, like with Dennis, I believe his name was our male main character. It's like, okay, we don't, we're not in 2006 or whatever. Yeah. I mean, we use the oscillator here for this. And also I've got six hour battery packs. So it's like it's, you know, we're depleted with technology at the time. Yeah, exactly. Now with this, we got laptops. We got the connect, which I thought was an interesting way to show.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Yeah, that was very advanced. shows an infrared, which I thought was very interesting watching that and seeing the... I thought it said there was a post credit. Well, let's wait. It might. Let's wait and see. Nope. It said post credit.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Well, not on this. Little bodega store. Which means it wouldn't be... Yeah. We didn't... I don't know if you're watching it somewhere else. We've watched it on Max. There's no post credit scene for us.
Starting point is 00:04:55 It said on Google there was one, though. So we're, yeah. Yeah. Anyways, if you guys are listening to us on Apple or Spotify, make sure you give us five-star ratings for going through the torture of watching these films. We would appreciate it. And also rejectnation shop.com. You can get cool teas like these.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Yeah, go get your reject tea. Shegeck Nation stuff. And sweater. Yes, this is the time of year. Apparently not for me because my legs are still showing. But for everyone, all normal people who wear sweatshirts and sweatpants, you got to get some shejacked, sweatpants. pants i know we're we're thinking about it we're just we're not sure if i just thought about people would
Starting point is 00:05:31 buy sweatpants with just a reject here because we don't want to go crazy right but those are that's up in the air you can let us know right but um yeah what are you i mean we we we already started talking about oh i mean again i i mean i really like this one again to your point with like the the they up the technology i think i liked it more because i got to rest for a sec and to Like the third one, I was just screaming my head off. Like I literally felt like I was going to have a heart attack. In this one, yes, there was still a lot of jump scares where I felt like I was like going to die. But it gave me a time, a little bit of respite to just grasp onto the story.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Give me a second to think about it. Is that really why it? Where does Robbie come from? Which I still didn't get that question answered. Robbie's just like disappeared one day. And we never saw him at the end. And then we did realize that why it was adopted. That was a twist for us.
Starting point is 00:06:31 That was a good twist. That he was actually Hunter. And then when she comes in and says it is, it's now, it's close to your time. I realize now, oh, he needed to go to a family to be raised normally. And now he gets to go back to Kate when it's of his time. And then the whole coven, it's crazy how the coven has grown in that last shot. That was insane. Question.
Starting point is 00:06:53 So if he needed to go to a family to be, again, maybe I'm totally, off on this. If he needed to go to a family to be raised normally before it was his time, why not let him be raised by the family he was being raised by before deleting and killing them? Or is that like a, or am I wrong? Well, no, I think, oh, right, I see what you're saying. I don't know. I mean, is that a, because she killed them, she takes a kid. Yeah, right? And we have to imagine she is not capable of taking care of the kid, but he is supposed to be the sacrifice, the firstborn son. Right. So gives them to a family to be adopted, to be raised. I can maybe in the, in the interim, Toby was like, listen, he can't be the sacrifice as the baby. Maybe she got it wrong
Starting point is 00:07:47 and killed the family, got him too soon. Right. Well, no, wait, no, that he couldn't be raised by that family because that his mom had the demon in her to begin with and then put it off on katie oh okay so it needed to be raised by maybe a normal family with no deal okay yeah no i think a normal family so that she can keep an eye on it and then grab him once the demons as he's of age okay but still i do like that twist but i like your question yeah i don't know if what i'm saying is obviously i don't be pricking really know it could be plausible but i'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments or are you probably saying well Andrew then there can't be a second movie if they don't do that um you know but let us know I'd love to hear that um but I do like that twist because like you
Starting point is 00:08:34 I thought the kid that they originally had that's Robbie he's got to be Hunter I thought that was an interesting twist to do that because I didn't see it coming but it's also it's satisfying at the same time right though I didn't understand it until your explanation now if that is the case that they went with um but it's a fascinating twist I feel and again I really, like I mentioned earlier, not to repeat myself again, but I really like how each of these films, because the first film, I don't think they knew what they had in terms of like this is going to explode
Starting point is 00:09:03 and be like a phenomenon in a series. But I like how each film has really expanded the lore in an interesting way. You got the second movie. It's like, oh, this is the sister. And then now we've got the, and they talked a little bit about the background of them being, you know, little girls and the fire in the house
Starting point is 00:09:21 and all that stuff, which we got a little explanation of that as well in the first movie. And then we saw what happened where they transferred the demon over to Katie and then with Hunter and then they vanished. And we got the third movie where we actually got to see the prequel, which was, I thought the third one might be actually my favorite. Although I love all three. I actually really like this one a lot too.
Starting point is 00:09:42 But again, I thought this was a fascinating way to continue the storyline again with the family. And I'm curious where we go from here. because that coven like you said has grown large. It's really grown large but again where does the story go from here? Because I really thought we were done with the, even though I know they vanished at the
Starting point is 00:10:01 end of two, I really thought we were done with the family at this point after three because I felt like the story was done but I clearly was wrong and I'm glad they continued because I thought this was a great way to do it but now I'm like again I'm like where now where do we go if we're still sticking with Katie and
Starting point is 00:10:16 Hunter. Well now I'm thinking that when they vanished that obviously because she had killed the parents. There's a lot of blood on her hands. Even though she's a demon, that's another point to maybe why she might have had to put him off to be adopted so she could disappear, right? Because it could just be, oh, Hunter was left,
Starting point is 00:10:36 but who killed all these people? Katie has to go and hide, not with the kid. I got to think, too, even though it's hard to, like, if you're detectives and like it's a cold case or whatever, I mean, you got to see the footage at some point, but still it's like, how do you identify? I don't know. So it's a weird, it's a weird thing, but, um, yeah, I mean, this, this one was fun.
Starting point is 00:10:56 The acting was, was good. I, I, I recognize that in this second one and the third one, didn't they do callbacks of the ghost sheet and then the door slam? I think that there was some that I was expecting to see like the door slam, but I like that we still got the creaking. And again, I don't want to always be able to call like one. a jump scare is coming, right, or that they all have to be the same. So I like that they did different things to mess with our minds and set us up to expect that something was going to be behind the fridge behind them when it's a close-up of their point of view when the camera's looking at them, that when they would move, there'd be something behind them. They played
Starting point is 00:11:40 with that a lot. I think the most intriguing thing that we saw here was with the infrared and that you could see the image of like it looked like a ghost moving through those green lights. I thought that was a really fun way to show us how Toby was actually in the room. And if you go back, it was not as obvious when I was pointing at the kitchen, Andrew didn't notice it, but then I pointed it out, like there is a light that you see. It almost seems like it graduated from the movement that we saw at the beginning of the film, just a movement, to like that light. was like moving towards where the kid was going and then it like came into a full body form which
Starting point is 00:12:23 is wild yeah so this was a lot of fun you you get to trivia before i get to trivia is there one specific jump scare in this movie that stood out to you thank you to huell for sponsoring today's video now guys i'm going to give you all the god's honest truth of how this sponsorship came to be sponsorship came to be we got contacted about basically partnering up with huel before we agreed to Anything, the very first thing I said was I would like to try the product first. I did a Instagram post on a Real Rejects one. It was the first time you see me trying the Hewell product. Basically going like, hey, we might not partner with them.
Starting point is 00:12:58 This is not a paid Instagram post. But I just wanted to try it since a lot of you guys ask for like health recommendations now and the know kind of what I take only because of the fact that I'm vegetarian. I have very limited protein options. So I gave it a shot and ended up loving it primarily the chocolate one. Wow, this is really, this is a really great one. One of the best things about it is that, yes, it's prepackaged, and a lot of times when it comes to, like, the prepackaged bottles, I'm not a big fan of them normally, which he got me drinking on camera, is one of these, which takes a very long time to put together and can often get messy, and it's just not aesthetically pleasing, but I'm trying to pack like a lot of vitamins and fiber protein. The best part about Hewell is a lot of what I try to pack into this one giant shake is already available in this little bottle.
Starting point is 00:13:40 Often taste better than what I can actually assemble myself. It actually tastes great. It's got a high protein intake count as well. And you know what? Brad new bottle. If you guys can see, it's filled to the top. This is how good it tastes. Now, normally, what you want to do is spread it out.
Starting point is 00:14:07 But if you wanted in one go, it is just as good. That tastes really freaking good. Thank you so much. from this video. The one thing they want me to say is this is you can get 15% off Huel today with code Rejects at Huel.com slash Rejects. Fuel your best performance with Huel today. They are great and I am already almost out of the many bottles they sent me. If you guys do go check them out at Huel.com slash rejects. You'll see they've got a whole bunch more items available as well. And if they taste anything as good as this, I'm going to be a very happy customer
Starting point is 00:14:35 for a very, very long time. So join me on this health journey. Give me a second to think about it. For me, I think it's the one. I mean, obviously there were a bevy I could go with because they all got me. The one where she was like really close to the to the laptop and then Ben pulled her away. That one got me really good. Yeah, that was that was a good one. If you think about it, I don't want to put you on the spot, but really quickly, that actor who played the dad, remember I said he looks familiar.
Starting point is 00:15:02 You did the mummy with the Brendan Fraser ones, right? No, I remember nothing. But yeah. He's one of the guys who was in that movie. he's like one of the crew members who's like uh goes to the to the pyramids and whatever um he passed away in 2012 of a heart attack unfortunately poor guy also do you know the woman who plays his wife in the movie the mom that was his wife in real life too they this came out the day the year he died uh oh is this 2012 oh this came out the year that's really sad wow yeah he passed he was a young good looking actor guy
Starting point is 00:15:40 that's terrible he passed away at age 47 September 13th 2012 and this movie came out when let's see when this movie came out uh release date where October 19th 2012 this came out this came out one month after he passed that is so terribly sad yeah I feel bad for the wife too because he missed the premiere of this big movie that he was in and also the fact that they were in it together they can't celebrate that premiere together that's That's a, that's very sad. That's creepy as all get up, though. Yeah. That it's also a horror movie and it has to do with demons and people dying. Like that's just, it's bad. It's bad, juju. Yeah, they were married for seven years.
Starting point is 00:16:23 Ooh, that's crazy. All right. So let's get to the trivia while you think of the. I mean, the knife going up really got me. That was weird. Oh, that was good. Oh, of course, that's the first trivia. The parents in the film played by Stephen Dunham and Alexandria were a real life married couple.
Starting point is 00:16:40 Sadly, Stephen passed away September 14th of a heart attack shortly before the film. It's, yeah. I didn't read that trivia. I just clicked on his thing because he looks familiar. Brady Allen's character, Robbie, was named after Robbie Mannheim, a child that in 1959 was an alleged victim of an evil possession, and he had an exorcism to save his life. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:17:04 That's dark. So the chronological order of the films, and again, we've only seen up to four, so far but we're going to go over the whole thing really quick the chronological orders is paranormal activity three paranormal activity two paranormal activity paranormal activity four paranormal activity the marked ones paranormal activity the ghost dimension so i believe the marked ones i think is the next one we're doing yeah and then we have the ghost dimension so we still got two more terror to get through right yeah i know you're looking forward to that i know they are our our amazing audience The first actual sequel in the series, the prior to sequels were prequels.
Starting point is 00:17:44 True. That's a good point. I didn't even think about that. Though it may seem like a novel concept incorporating a laptop camera into paranormal activity four played an important practical role in the filmmaking. Anything can go on behind and she wouldn't necessarily know unless the person on the other end of the video chat told her that it was behind her, Schollman said. It just seemed like a really fun way to carry a camera and film yourself because otherwise there's no other way to shoot close-ups in a paranormal film. usually you're filming forward so this way you can actually get a reaction shot true don't we know it smart yeah love it stephen dunham's last film uh the will helm scream doug is watching an
Starting point is 00:18:22 action movie on tv automatic gunfire can be heard followed by the will hum scream i pointed that out as we heard it i said the will home scream in 2012 interview with m tv news aerial ariel aerial sorry shulman addressed the significance or lack thereof of robbie's fork that's just the Kid riffing. He sort of put together a bag of objects and just made stuff up. One of them was a very expensive fork 100 years old. Be very careful with that fork. Alex and Ben are girlfriend and boyfriend in this film. In real life, Catherine Newton, who played Alex, was 15. And Matt Schivley, who played Ben, was 21 at the time of filming. And they were real boyfriend and girlfriend? No, no, no, no, no. It was just, yeah, yeah, no, no, I didn't say that. It was just just going over their age. but okay no i'll read it one more time Alex and Ben our girlfriend and boyfriend in the film in real life Catherine Newton who played Alex was 15
Starting point is 00:19:16 oh i see you're saying okay he's 21 during filming but i guess it did sound almost like I did so that as with the previous three paranormal activity films paranormal uh paranormal paranormal paranormal paramount studios utilizes paranormal investigator researcher Christopher Chaconne who is recognized as one of the world's most foremost authorities on paranormal phenomena to
Starting point is 00:19:38 internationally promote and publicize the fourth installment Chacon also works in the entertainment industry as a writer-director and we always read that one. The first movie in the series, not to be set in California. Well, I know for a fact it was filmed in California because I saw that first scene. That's where I played baseball.
Starting point is 00:19:54 Don't lie to us. But yes, there, I guess they're right. Alexandria's, Lee's last acting role as of 2019. That's the mom. What do you call it when an actor goes like on set and you play the character the whole time.
Starting point is 00:20:10 It's called, why am I blanking? Method acting? Yes. He went, the kid went full on method, which is insane to me with the fork. I think that's hilarious because he's like eight. Yeah. Nice. He's a good actor that kid. All right, we got three more.
Starting point is 00:20:26 Spoilers. The footprints on the wall of Wyatt's room directly behind his bed match the footprints of the demon in the first paranormal activity when baby powder is used to track it. Oh, yeah, cool. The only movie in the franchise where the main protagonist gets attacked, but the viewers don't actually see her get killed as the camera turns off how. Oh, not reading that.
Starting point is 00:20:46 It's talking about the six movie. I cut off myself right there. Right when it's at six movie, I cut off. Body count four, not counting Christy and Daniel. It's also debatable if Alex dies or not. Okay. Okay. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:20:58 I got a look at filming location here. We'll look at that afterwards. All right. Well, guys. let us know what did you think of paranormal activity for we are going to be doing paranormal activity the marked ones I believe next and then the ghost dimensions I think is what I saw after that
Starting point is 00:21:18 so make sure you'd check us out and don't forget to ring the bay that way you don't miss those reactions okay so thank you guys if you have stayed to join us this long we appreciate it and love you yes we're going to go
Starting point is 00:21:34 check into a emergency center. Check our heartbeats. Make sure we're still good. And we will see you guys later. Take care. Tyler Hague. Tyler, I think you would be the perfect subject of a paranormal activity movie.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Because think of this. People in paranormal activity movies are always recording things and they're always looking at a bunch of monitors to review that footage. So you could bug every room in your house and then use your screen wall to track the ghosts. But not only that, I mean, think of how many cool and off-the-wall creative
Starting point is 00:22:13 jump scare gags we could do in your house. There's probably screens in places we don't even realize furniture that could be dropping off the ceiling in any moment, Tyler. And not to mention, just like you would be such a cool protagonist. You'd be a totally different kind of guy. You're not some kind of average middle-class family or some team. teenage girl who nobody believes. You're just a jolly fellow.
Starting point is 00:22:38 You're just a guy. You're an every man. And that's, I think, what we need. We need, like, a relatable, fun, paranormal activity movie. Starring as somebody whose whole entire life is absorbed in documentation and entertainment. And then we'll move in with you. And then we'll, like, live stream it all on the internet. We'll eat hot dogs together.
Starting point is 00:23:02 How many hot dog were. related scares could we get? I mean, like... So many you can sit on a hot dog and goes up your bum. Oh, it would be so scary. And the ghost definitely is responsible for doing that. He jokes are funny and parodies. They are, yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:15 In fact, they're the most kinds of jokes you should be making in parody movie. They're funny. Yeah. Because they're not gay, but the gay stuff happens. Gay stuff happens. And then you're like, oh, gross, because being gay is crazy. We live. It's crazy, right?
Starting point is 00:23:30 Oh, my God. And, oh, not only that. But then, like, oh, maybe like a cow will fall on you just out of nowhere. Because the second funniest thing besides being gay is just randomly being crushed by things. Oh, yeah. Or hitting the balls. Or hitting the balls. And the balls, we could hit Tyler and the balls.
Starting point is 00:23:47 If you could kick Tyler, if you could get a celebrity look-alike to kick Tyler of the balls, that would be even funnier, though. It would be like, the funniest thing possible. So you could be like, look, it's Paris Hilton. And it's hilarious. Because, like, who would have expected Paris Hilton to kick Tyler and the balls in his house? House. What is she even doing there? Why is she here? I don't know. Dude, what ghosts have the hookups to get those cameos? Oh, and then tie. And then think of it, Tyler, like all those cameos pretty soon, you'll be able to start charging people just to stop by and visit. You know, you'll be like your own wax museum, but better. So true. Better Tyler. Okay, bye Tyler. Bye Tyler. Happy November, Thanksgiving. We love you. Stay safe. Thank you.
