Thank you to Huell for sponsoring this video.
More on them in just a bit.
Next time, we'll all be dressed in full peacemaker cosplay.
Anyway, gang, let's do this thing.
Let's jump into the show.
I saw some blurbs say episode three is where it really starts to take off.
And I would agree as of now.
I loved one and two, but three was awesome also.
all right gang we made it peacemaker season two episode three if you've made it this far on the video thank you for joining us if you would leave a like on the video that would be a big help subscribe hit that notification bell so you can be notified when episode four comes your way huge thank you to the folks over at prepper for chopping these together keeping the peace and hey if you happen to be listening to this in a podcast format if you could leave us a little bit of a rating that would be very much a
I appreciate it. Gang, Roxanne, I'm coming to you first.
Yeah, Doug.
How are you feeling, episode three?
Man, I thought that was awesome.
I feel like what we were requesting after one and two was more ensemble because we were getting a lot of peacemaker and hardcore.
And then in this one, we still got a lot of that, but in a completely different sense and to a different degree.
and we also got more of our team and our squad.
So I really love the direction of this season.
I honestly know it's a little early to say this,
but I love season one,
but I'm kind of preferring season two
because I'm seeing how this affects the entire DC universe
and where this plays in.
And as we're seeing in different universes,
Argus and what we're doing in pocket dimensions
and kind of what the tone is,
I just am so into this direction.
I also think that John Sina does not get enough credit
for the incredible work he's doing on this show.
This is a tough role that he is playing.
And he's doing it with just balls and grit and tenacity.
I love him, and he makes peacemaker for me.
So yes, all around.
Heck yeah.
Gee, how do you feel?
I thought it was a really great episode.
I thought it was the best one of the three so far.
kind of by a long
big gap there for me
margin yeah that's the word I was looking for
thank you why margin
you say wide margin
or why margin? Why a margin
and not perhaps like
what other words are
there
I said wide y'all
yeah
I like how
I like how
with Chris especially
when he's having that conversation
Harcourt, the way they drive home how, oh, in this world, there's this sort of like front
that everything in his life is better. And you're kind of expecting, or at least, you know,
I bet a lot of us are, well, okay, well, nothing's perfect. So what will be imperfect about his
life here? And even though he's got the glory as peacemaker, his life as Chris seems
imbalance and difficult in its own way that he doesn't have in his other world. Like he's got
clear struggles in his other world, his actual world as Chris, but this Chris deals more
in that idea of like someone who's famous who has like drug addiction problems and has a
very big ego problem. And it's kind of cool to draw this illustration of how even though
one Chris has a much more painful past and a more painful journey, it has helped shape him
into someone who's a lot more humble and more in tune with his emotions because of those
experiences. It's a really good point. And then you have
the connection there with him and Harcourt
and Amelia. That's the thing is I feel like in
our world we get to know hardcore really well. Like that identity of like we call
hardcore for a reason, but they're really purposeful about like, oh, we're using last
names now. And I really feel like here you're seeing this other light side of Amelia
and seeing like Joel Kindman being brought into the fold
as well is. Did you guys know he was going to be in the season? No, I had no idea.
No idea.
I was really excited to see him because, yeah, I mean, they flash back to him a lot.
There's a lot of reference him a lot.
So I'm curious what they'll do there with him and Rick Flagg, Sr.
There's got to be some type of thing happens where they do meet and forgiveness abides.
There's so much about parenting and sons in this show.
So, yeah, I mean, I want to talk over every single thing that happens here.
There's like action and other characters, brotherly stuff.
So, yeah, I mean, I thought it was great.
It's great.
So, yeah, John, I, you, whatever else.
Michael Rooker, Trest.
as a Native American.
That's all I took away from it.
Yeah, that is an interesting indigenous choice that they have made.
I'm sure that will come into play.
I'm sure whatever his weird backstory is is going to be quite colorful.
But, no, I agree with both you guys.
This, yeah, on the heel, like, I liked the previous two, but this one has me, like, super
engrossed for where the story is going to take us and where the possibilities of this
world could go, or at least this alternative to universe, could go.
and yeah I feel like
the distinction
they have drawn very effortlessly
is in yeah like in the first season
you know everybody by one set of names
especially like peacemaker vigilante
etc and here it's yeah
I have like my brain is defaulting
to calling him Chris here each time
and yeah I'm thinking of her more
as Amelia now and it's just like a nice
use of the other
like you know the names of characters
are every character needs
a name, but it's also like an important thing that I feel like so often the use of a name
can be sort of like expository or sound unnatural, but here I feel like it's used in a fascinating
and very sort of character-rich kind of way. And yeah, like this episode had like a really
great blend of fun, but also tension because again, any of these sort of like, oh, perfect
alternate universe stories make you just immediately apprehensive of what is going to be, yeah,
the shoe drop or the you know the monkey's paw twist but um yeah like getting to see him in his element
and getting to see him in a world where he can apply all the things he has learned to really
you know um appreciate it seems like the chris who lives in this universe doesn't actually
appreciate the life that he has and the things that he has and without that core loss of keith
he probably couldn't and so yeah i feel like the argument so many of these kinds of stories are
about like well you know they're going to have to accept that they can't just jump into
this universe and this is one of the rare times where i'm watching one of these going i don't know
maybe could like i know there has to be testing and i know there has to be some kind of again
shoe to drop here but at the same time especially when you're thinking mathematically about like
okay well they're trying to kind of like smush this into the dc u from the dc e u it's like you know
i could imagine this working out in such way where he doesn't ultimately go back to the
universe that we know what really um you would have to bring over that whole cast of character
I also just feel like you can't maintain a world you didn't earn.
Like, jumping over here would be so untrue to...
That's a lie.
It's a lie.
And it's a lie to...
Even if you tell the truth, you're still living a lie.
Because you didn't earn these relationships.
And one of the reasons I love alt-reality or Pocket Universe stories is because it
really explores the nature versus nurture element, right?
Like, I, that's a question that I think that I love, I love diving into because I think
that to think that everything is nature and to think that most people are not a product of
their environment and nurture is to me kind of absurd.
Of course, some things are nature, but most of us are products of our experiences and
what you do, the choices that you make.
I refuse to believe that we're not who we are because of the choices we make.
That is why we are who we are.
And so I love that we see in this episode when hardcore is like, you know, he was stepping out on her and he's popping pills and he's changing his mind every three days.
And that's not the Chris that we know.
That's not the peacemaker we know.
Our peacemaker has a completely different set of flaws, including some similar things like the like a day.
of habits and being an addict
with cocaine, women, whatever.
But not a cheater.
Not a mind changer, right?
So it's like, I love watching this.
So I don't, if she is
really in love with the
other guy, like
oh, that universe is Chris,
she's not in love with our Chris, because that's
a different person. So
I don't know, John, like him just to go
over there. I'm not saying I expect it to happen.
I'm saying it's the rare
instance of this trope where I'm not
sitting here going well of course he's
or I'm not focused on well this will never take
I know because of
you know movie math that this will never take
I'm just kind of able to be caught up in this
and I hear what you're saying to at least wonder
about the fork in the road rather than going
well obviously he's going to take this other
the fork that leads back
to the universe that we know because this won't work out
okay I hear you well usually a multiverse
story is a movie
and it's like
oh they introduce like some good things but then
they quickly introduce like a conflict of
oh, well, you don't have this here.
That's going to be a problem, isn't it?
He's saying, like, okay, that's why he's going to go back.
It's more telegraphed where this show, this season is so much just you're hanging out with who these people are.
Like, you see them on the day they're all hung over and how they all interact with each other
and just talk about life and get to know Adrian in a way that's not, what's your backstory?
How'd you grow up?
Just like learning about someone about what their interests are is telling of a person,
of itself and how also disassociated he is and also how disassociated he is with the
violence that he commits but he's got this like embarrassment about spiders and stuff he feels
like he'll be judged for that and and i i agree with you roxy on those points like the part
that stood out to me was when he's with hard court and even though she seems drawn to this
new version of chris he's talking about facing his pain and that's so new for him and the reason
reason why people act out the way they do is because most of the time it's because they have
something in their past they have to contend with or accept or talk through and plain and simple
he wouldn't be able to do that if he if he's living the lie right he wouldn't have had those
skills and he wouldn't have that ability well yeah he'd have to also fess up that he killed the
other like there's a lot of things he can't be truly honest about his past in this world like
It's a tall order to, unless he is and people accept him.
But that is a tall order.
Even if he did that, it's still a lie because it's not true to who he is.
Like, say that he just takes on this guy as his brother, but that's not your brother.
Because you are who you are because you didn't have your brother.
Yeah.
And I think at the end of the day, I'll realize that his family is at home in his own world.
But okay, at the same time, I will say, because obviously I can't go through one mother effing show without
mentioning having dead people i don't i honestly this is the most i ever understand anybody's choices
because there is no world in which a family member of mine dies and i know they're in a
different world and i don't go there and stay there i'm doing that rejignation i'm interrupted

I, like, period.
Goodbye, guys.
Goodbye, John.
Goodbye, Greg.
Goodbye, everything and everyone I know.
If I know that my dead people are alive somewhere else, I'm done.
I'm done with this place.
What is it?
Did we ever learn about his mom?
That's a good question.
Walked out, dive.
She must not be in the picture.
Oh, yeah.
I always got the sense, yeah,
it was just like a single dad situation.
No, I think we remember.
I think we definitely learned.
Some line.
Yeah.
I bet we could Google it.
Oh, I have a question for you guys.
How do you feel, I know we talked briefly after the previously on for episode one
about how they're including Peacemaker and the DCU.
How do you guys feel about bringing more like we have some Superman references?
We're obviously dealing with.
The Suicide Squad.
We have references to Amanda Waller in episode two, but we don't know.
I'm assuming it's our Amanda Waller.
How are you guys feeling about the peacemaker's place in the DC right now and what they're
including?
I don't really think about it, honestly.
Okay.
That's probably good.
It's been so contained to the, you know, yeah, I'm sure they'll answer that.
But yeah, so far it feels just like we're in peacemaker world and we're doing peacemaker stuff.
Even with Joel Kinnaman coming through, you guys were like.
Because that's all.
already so much a part of the character and it's been here since before and like all that stuff didn't really didn't really except for the acknowledgement of like oh suicide squad is canon here sounds like suicide squad and the suicide squad to go out to cordomaltese so yeah like those things you know put me there for a moment but i was mostly just chuffed to see joel kinneman again because again like i i loved him in the suicide squad especially like he was one of my favorite characters but also
Yeah, having him back is both a great opportunity for fun, but also a good opportunity for, you know, dramatic foiling and all sorts of stuff.
I like how in the Suicide Squad, he has authority over peacemaker through most of that journey, at least in their dynamic.
And then when they check into the office, you can see how, like, scared and bumbling he is around.
He's intimidated by him.
Because he's had a whole different life, too.
Yeah.
It's like an office.
He's just a guy in an office in this thing.
Yeah, it's really funny.
Do you guys think this is me allowing my mind to wander?
I can already feel you guys who are going to get annoyed with this question,
but I'm asking it anyway.
Does this mean that Margot Robbie is our Harley Quinn?
That's a great question, actually,
because there has been speculation that she won't return,
speculation that she could.
I think everything in the Suicide Squad is canon.
It's got to be that she's Harley Quinn.
I think, I mean, they might recast her,
but I think everything that happens in the Suicide Squad is canon.
They reference it way too much.
Yeah, but we could also, everything in Peacemakers can and except for previously on, and there's no Aquaman, no Flash.
So, you know, you can always recon things.
Yeah, we can, but I don't know, I'm not really too caught up in it.
I don't hate the question.
I'm just not too caught up.
Hate the player, I don't hate the game.
It's fun to think about, but it's not of great consequence to my enjoyment or experience of this particular show.
It's more just sort of like a neat thing to wonder on the outside.
Right.
Because season one references like Batman a bunch and...
Um, they reference other characters throughout the journey, too, in season one, none of which I can remember at this moment. And Abadio is, um, there's a green arrow. Yeah, yeah, that's right. I wonder Stephen Mell was really upset about. Um, but, uh, Abadio, it really was his whole thing. I know, I remember exactly what you're talking about. Yeah. Um, is the daughter, like, her old character, she's the daughter of Amanda Waller. Right. And so, and, you know, and the whole, and Harcourt and, um, Economos were introduced in the suicide squad and their journey so pertains to, like, like, every,
Beyond Chris's journey, like our other two characters link so much to it.
And the fact that they're saying like going to Corto Maltese, I think it's too much to ask for like constantly having to tell the audience.
Like, okay, in this movie, here's what's canon.
And this show, who's what's canon?
That'd be, I think it's way too.
I'm not asking for that at all.
Yeah, you know that I'm not.
It'd be frustrated.
I would be like, what are you doing, James?
I'm kind of curious who Abadio is in the world that he's.
maker's gone to now.
I mean, maybe she's the top-ranking Argus officer here.
Yeah, like.
Oh, my God.
Running the show.
Maybe Amanda Waller is deceased, and maybe she took over.
Like, maybe she runs Argus.
We don't know.
Yeah. Yeah, there's a lot.
But Rick Flagg, seniors, I think they're going to kill Eagley.
No.
This early?
Or by the end of the season?
If I were to venture a guess,
I would say
since they're only letting
five episodes come up
I would say episode five
that would be devastating
I really don't want them to kill Eadley
that's my guess
or something crazy
or it dies in four and then five is like some big
revenge like there's a reason he had
James Guns been really insistent on like he's not releasing
six to eight to the press
that usually people do that all
like it happened with the last of us they always say that
so it can change
but right now
at this moment of time only people have seen the first five so uh we don't really uh i think
eagerly will die i'd be surprised if eagerly doesn't die they're like eagley is expensive
yeah i'm gonna alternate universe eagerly who knows um but yeah but rick flagg senior's the one that i'm
super curious because they set that up really well in episode two and that's with his motivation there
and i've got to imagine they'll they'll have some scene where the two like unite
with each other.
He gets to meet
multiversal version
of Rick Flagg, Jr.
Yeah, I wonder
even if in the next episode
or something like that
they raid his house
or I guess maybe
somewhere down the line here
they actually get into
Augie's, you know,
construct and find,
you know,
I can imagine all sorts of ways
in which we could spill
these characters
into alternate dimensions.
Yeah.
And that's going to be pretty fun.
I want to know more
about that alien character
that we keep seeing there.
Oh, yeah.
that guy who keeps passing through.
He doesn't say hi, yeah.
Get a whole episode just about that guy.
All right.
Any other stray observations before we hit it?
Gang, leave us your thoughts on Peacemaker, Season 3, Episode 3.
Very much enjoying the show so far.
Can't wait to check back in with y'all next week.
And stay patriotic out there.
Cheers.
